Private/Closed Naruto AU: Roleplay

The three tree the ice giant stabbed through swung through the tree line leveling the forest greenery. Many loud crash and cracks could be heard as the trees fell back onto the land, loud disturbances could be audibly heard as a stampede of forest animals started, all sort of beasts running around in panic. The sky became momentarily clouded by the birds that flew out of the woods.

Shura was nowhere to be seem, admits the chaos that was caused by Kai’s ice drone, it’s intended target was still nowhere to be found. Suddenly, a humanoid shadow dashed through the remains of the tree line as it approached Kai from behind. The figure turned to seemingly be Shura as he held a Kunai in hand and slashed at Kai.

Hinagiku

Licking her lips, Hina felt the vestiges of Hama's chakra absorbed by the Twin Lion Step. Paltry at best. The azure flames around her body died down. She gazed up at the falling dodecahedron of ice. It was only when it had been no more than 5 ft from their position that she moved. The earth beneath rippled as she sunk into it. When she re-emerged, she was several meters away and well outside the impact radius of the Ice.

Raising her voice, she sent if rippling across the battlefield. "Children, you have 5 minutes to play. After those 5 minutes, you must all return to my side, for we shall depart."

Hyōryugetsu &
Sagisō

Perched in their respective trees, the two kunoichis traded glances. For each of them, the other was an opponent with a troublesome move set.

Eyes bleached by the Byakugan, Sagisō had a slight frown on her face. 'Water chakra..? How strange... it's like the chakra is infused into her very flesh.' The mechanics of the Hydrofication jutsu could not instantly be decoded by the Byakugan, but Sagisō was already edging closer to an epiphany.

Meanwhile, Hyō was also troubled by the Hiden of her foe. 'Hyūga...huh? Best not to get hit by those palms. Don't know how those tenketsu blocking strikes will affect the Hydrofication jutsu...and I'm not risking my life to find out.' It was possible that the strikes of the gentle fist could disrupt the chakra that kept the Hydrofication jutsu active. Essentially, there was a chance Hyō could be forced into physical form by Sagisō's strikes. Equally, there was a chance that the Hyūga's technique would be rendered completely effective on Hyō's body.

Which scenario occurred could easily shift the tables of the battle, but both girls weren't exactly the type to risk their lives of a flimsy chance like that. They would act with the worst-case scenario in mind.

It was at this moment, that Hinagiku's voice traversed the forest. Sagisō knitted her brow together, '5 Minutes..? This'll be tricky.'

Narrowing their eyes at each other, the two girls took their stances. Devasting palm blows were pointed against lethal finger pistols. They both moved at once, Sagisō advancing as the Hōzuki retreated. This was a game of distance control. Whoever had the most mobility and maneuverability would be able to force the battle into their perferred range.

Previously Swirled
Tsuki
Tsuki was still hiding behind the trees, biding her time until a reault was yielded. Unfourtunately, the result that the Yuki-nin waited for was having her own ice needle turned against her by the Hyūga she targeted, complete with a small boost of wind chakra. However, unlike most situations, she was prepared for this. She thought back to the notes that she took of the technique that Hama had taught her and recalled how the nature of the needle was an extenaion of the user's will. As such, Tsuki simply willed the needle to stop its course, and it did, allowing the freedom of mind for strategizing.

So my first attempt in didn't work. No matter, I should be able to continue using my ice needle as long as I need to.

Tsuki decided to create another ice needle for Shura to deal with and propelled both portectiles towards the Hyūga, this time, the movement of the needles being more erratic, similar to that of a mosquito.
Seiun
So, they're still kicking...guess I'll have to deal with them head on.

Seiun then turned his attention to the myraid of shock needles that were raining down upon him. Taking out his axe, the rouge spun the weapon around as to create essentailly a small shield covering just a little more than the area around him. This was done as to allow for a quick strike if Furījia was to counterattack. And for extra ensurance, Seiun created a clone to charge two thunder balls to fire in case she went for a ranged attack.

Your move, little spark.

What? How could he??

Kai saw Shura approach shockingly quick, past his ice drone and already mere feet away from him with a kunai in hand. Kai reacted quickly, calling forth water from his pouch and crystallized them into the shape of a sword.

*CLANG!*

His sword met with Shura’s kunai, the Yuki nin parrying the kunai. Kai glared into shura’s Eyes through his mask.

“Still the lapdog of the hyuga clan I see. Maybe this time you play fetch and roll over. And please do....roll over!”

Kai planned to thrust the blade into his chest by removing a segment of the blade due to it being his bendable material, the segment bending off and stabbing the hyuga in the gut.

.......

*WHOOOOOOOSH!*

The dodecahedron crashed down, a vast plume if dust and leaves washing up as it smothered the area. Hama, who had stood inside the hole of the odd shape grinned from inside of it, perfectly safe from the attack. Seeing Hama five undergoudn just a mere few feet from her, she knew the attack didn’t land. So she didn’t waste time just standing around. She weaves the final octagon right at her feet, completing the structure.

She put her hands behind her back, her fingers making a complex series of movements. Meanwhile the dodecahedron separates into octagonal segments. Hama’s octogon she stood in floated slowly toward and above hingaku’s position, the honeycomb like amber plates rotating around her like some kind of fan blade.

“Aw, maybe we can extend that play date a little further, what do you say?~”

........

Damos looked on at the alarming sight of the shukaku, who was cackling like a overgrown hyena as the tailed beast poured sand into the ocean. The shukaku cackled, flicking a nearby tree into a nearby dock, smashing both into bits.

“Yahooo!! Ain’t this fun! But it ain’t complete t’ll somebody dies! And guess who that somebody is?!”

The giant Tanuki set it’s sights on Damos and Misa, which the former looked completely disinterested, not so much as raising a finger to deal with the tailed beast. He simply watched as the shukaku readied a battle stance, it’s large stomach poofing up as it prepared an attack.

“WIND STYLE! AIR BULLETS!!”

Huge compartment sized blasts of air were fired from the Shukaku, twenty in total. The air bullets rained down toward Damos and misa, ten billets for each. Damos’s Bullets seemingly vaporized the Akatsuki member, a huge splash in the ocean was heard as the air bullet made a massive crashing of waves. The tanuki’s large tail rammed toward the mist itself, it’s thick plated seeking to ravage anything it could touch

Hinagiku

Hinagiku closed her eyes, counting to 5 in her head. Slowly, she opened them and...nope, Hama was still there. 'Sigh, of course, she is...annoying' Like a child nagging at her heels or a mosquito buzzing around her incessantly, such was the nature of the Yuki. As far as she'd seen, every single one of them were just eyesores.

Hinagiku pulled out a smoke bomb, and then under Hama's view, she crushed it. As the area filled with smoke, she created a single clone. As the Yuki's vision was obscured, she retreated underground sinking several feet down. Because these islands were mostly made of limestone, she was able to find a small section of karst geography. A subterranean cave. There she sat down and began to count the seconds in her head.

In the meantime, her clone would play with Hama.

Hinagiku Clone

Poofing into existence amidst a world of smoke, the Hinagiku clone released an exasperated sigh. It seemed that once again, the main had decided to pass off troublesome jobs to her clones. Well, not that the clone couldn't understand that. If she were the main she wouldn't have stuck around either. Well, truth be told, she still wasn't going to stick around.

As the smoke cleared, the clone flung out several kunai. There were small flashbangs and smoke bombs attached to them, and they were designed to further obstruct vision. The flashbangs would go off first, using the refractory nature of Ice to blind her opponent. Next, the smoke bombs would go off, further obstructing vision.

While all that was happening, the clone retreated into the forest. She slapped bomb tags onto the base of trees as she jogged past. She would detonate them as the situation required.

Mei

Swaying her legs over the wall's edges, Mei watched with disinterest as the Shukaku's tail slammed into the erected barrier. The barrier shook and rippled, but held firm. She case her gaze towards the shinobi maintaining the barrier. They seemed to winch at the latest attack, but they weren't strained.

That was to be expected. The Shukaku wasn't known for is great physical strength among the tailed beasts, and Mei also knew that a barrier erected by several Jonin would last quite a while. If she remembered correctly, Kumogakure only used a team of several Jonin to reseal the Eight-Tails every time it went berserk.

Still, the beast's power was as impressive as ever. If she squinted, she could just barely make out a series of fractures in the barrier where the tail had hit. Fortunately, the cracks were already repairing as the excess chakra slowly wove into the structure. Repairs would be slow, but at this rate, the barrier would perform its job well.

There was still something worrying that could occur...and Mei bit her lip as she thought of it.

Blades clashing, Shura was knocked back slightly by the exchange but quickly recovered and went to charge kai once again. The Hyuga completely ignored the insult thrown at him by the opposing Yuki and prepared for his second strike. Swinging his Kunai at Kai as the other swung his ice sword in the motion of yet another blade clash, Shura's eyes widened a bit when he saw Kai's swod break off and split into two pieces. His Kunai swung between the two segment of the ice sword, Shura was stabbed in the two sections Kai aimed to hit. However, even though he now had two blades of ice through his body, Shura showed a lack of pain, eerily lacking.

Suddenly, the impales Shura dissapeared in a puff of smoke and what was left in his place was a gust of wind which began circling around Kai. A bit further away, another Shura hopped over one of the fallen trees and slammed his hands on the ground. "Wind Style: Twister Trap!" Pouring a bit of chakra through the ground, Shura fueled the already formed twister around Kai increasing its size and intensity, creating a violent tornado around the Yuki. Shura took a few steps closer towards Kai when he heard Hinagiku’s voice coming through the battlefield. “Five minutes huh, better finish this quick then.” He thought as he pulled out two bomb tags from his vest and tossed them into the vortex Kai was in.

Koki'o

The Sunagakure team advanced slowly, but it mattered not. Their island destination was already before them, greeting them with sandy beaches and a thick forest line. Koki'o herself rode the waves, allowing the waters to carry her as they crashed against the sand. With light steps she danced across the beach, kicking up sprays of water. It seemed a completely random act, but it served a purpose. She was ridding herself of her frivolity. Blowing off some excess energy and restlessness so she could focus.

As she slowed to a stop, she brought both thumbs to her mouth. Impaling the skin on her canines, she drew blood. She hands craftily constructed the sequence of seals for the summoning jutsu. When she was done, she drew her thumbs not across the ground, but across her own skin. Pressing her thumbs to her shoulders, she left a duo of bloody streaks down her torso. Clouds of smoke covered her body, obscuring vision. But they could not hide the deep hisses and chitters that echoed from their depths.

"Rise and Shine cutie-pies~ ♥"

The smoke cleared and revealed that attached to Koki'o's torso was...armor. Actually, upon closer inspection, it was not one, but two pieces of chitinous armor that mirrored each other. It was if two giant scorpions had welded themselves to the girl's body. Her wrists were wrapped in armor that eerily resembled pincers, and subsequent plates of chitin traveled up the length of her arm and across her sides. Around her waist and torso were overlocking spines that resembled a scorpion's legs. From the small of her back came two swaying tails, curved like 'U' and tipped with wicked stingers that glittered with concealed toxins.

"Ah, let me introduce you! These are my summons, Lesath-" she waved her left hand, and the armor-like scorpion hissed aggressively as its natural armor rattled against itself, "and Shaula," the remaining scorpion, occupying her left hand greeted with softer, more subdued hisses.

This was the true form of the 35th star of Nadeshiko, the Crying Star 'Twin-Tailed Scorpion'.

"Well..? Are we gonna stand around all day?"

Looking at the Biju charge up its attack, Misa smirked. “Well, I guess now’s a good time as any to try out this body’s capabilities.” She said before weaving a few hand signs and putting her hands on the water she was standing on. “Ice style: Jagged Ice wall!” She shouted. Morphing the water of the sea, a wall was formed before quickly freezing over in front of Misa. However, Shukaku’s air bullet easily pulverized through the ice wall, causing Misa to jumps to the side to dodge. “Good, would probably have been effective against anything that was not a Biju.” She said to herself as she continued to dodge the air blast barrage.

Flashback
Looking at the brick he pulled out from above, Shura saw the gap that was carved in the brick. Reaching inside it, Shura pulled out a lollipop. “Huh, it’s still here, neat.” He said to himself as he slotted the brick back into the wall without even looking back. Shura removed the candy’s wrapping and put it in his mouth before walked over to his cell’s back wall and sitting down against it.

"Shut the fuck up! You seem to know a lot for how expendable they see me given you've barley had any interaction with any of them." Tayuya spat, but even if she had made an open jab at Takato's claim over how expendable she had been viewed by the sound she could not deny that there was some begrudging truth to certain aspects of what he had said. Hina's presence, even an unseen presence made any prospect of an escape to Oto one filled with risk. Especially if she tried to say bring Kiro or the Jinchuriki even if the latter offered no resistance. Much less Takato on top of that, so while she had no idea what Kiro had in mind she figured it was better to roll the dice and see if he could manage to sway Takato or not and held back her tongue.

For the moment anyway.

Takato himself had a frown as he listened to Kiro give his big speech about this situation and about what he desired more than anything. Trust. And ironic term given what Takato had read on Kiro's file but his tone appeared to have some genuine feelings and in truth he did outline the core dilemma; his options were to wait and pray for Hina to show up before his shadow possession wore off or let go and see if Kiro had been true to his world. Takato took a moment to consider his options and the words, before he reached behind him to his special pouch; placed just above his lower back in a spot most ninja did not carry anything so that even if Tayuya & Kiro copied the movement with the shadow position they'd avoid getting anything of note.

"Well, either way no matter what I do I seem to have a bit of a short straw. But, since everyone else seems to be gambling here I suppose I shall as well." Takato said, and before he said another word his shadow detached from both Kiro & Tayuya. Though he kept his item he pulled hidden from their view as Tayuya felt her body regain its own control before she turned to face Kiro & Takato as she naturally had a hand on her drawn flute. Though she had yet to act as one could cut the tension in the air as she waited to see what Kiro would do it appeared even if her gaze mainly lingered on Takato.

-----------
Sakura behind the flame wall saw the gesture Taiyo made as he had his finger lit and immediately knew what he had in mind. First thing first through she decided on a unique method to prepare for it given Zaku's own attack as she flashed some hand signs for a jutsu preparation behind the fire wall.

Soon, it appeared the flame itself wrapped around the trio covering every inch of their position to create this spinning shield around them as the sound bullets & sound wave slammed into it from underneath them with violent force and sure enough the flame dissipated and drifted away. Out of the snuffed out fire it appeared Sakura had used this chance to jump to the side along with presumably Raiku & Taiyo a moment before the underground shot connected as they appeared to to try move to the right side and get to the trees for some cover.

Kakashi himself raced down the Rashomon, Sharingan revealed, as he scaled down with frantic speed while he made some hand signs of his own as electricity crackled around his hand and wind began to pick up.

On this occasion, Kakashi hoped he was not too late.

Amari knew Lesath and Shaula well. They were Koki'o's go to summons. She loved her sister but she could be a little... much sometimes. Amari preferred to keep her talents more hidden until actually needed for a battle, not that there was much to show anyway. She decide to calm down before they departed. So she sat almost motionless with her eyes closed as she listened to the crashing of the waves against the shore and the sound of all the insects near the beach.

Hama scratched her chin as ‘Hinagaku’ ran out of the smoke cover that she deployed for some reason. Hama got a whimsical look on her face, as if a joke had been made. Ontop her topaz octogon, she floated toward where the smoke bomb had been deployed.

“You know...that’s a funny joke you just did, if I didnt know any better, I’d say you were insulting my Intellegence~“ Hama mused. “If youbha dused a smoke bomb and several clones that would be one thing. But wasting a smoke bomb on a single clone, when you already displayed the ability to sink underground at a whim? That’s just plain sloppy~”

Suddenly, the octogon pattern barriers slammed into the ground, save her platform. They then begun to rapidly spin, like a drill. She bore through the rock below in a several dozen meter radius. As she broke down into the ground, she was met with a quite expansive, subterranean cave, with a familiar looking hyuga lying there. Hama giggled in her sing-song voice.

“You weren’t the best at hide and seek, were you?”

........

“....WHAT?!”

Kai was too late to respond as he stabbed into the clone. A strong burst of air expelling from the clone and sending him flying into the air. He was caught off guard, dropping his ice sword and was sent like a rag doll into vortex. Several cuts slashing into his body and clothes. This wind is too violent for me to feasibly create handsigns! Damn this Xeno scum!

As shura pulled out his explosive tags, Kai’s eyes widened. He was defenseless without a justu not even ground to save him! This gave him only one option.

“Alpha I!”

Kai’s big ice drone charge into the ice field, shoving Kai out of the tornado while he tanked the explosive tags. The ice drone shattered into thousands of pieces, meanwhile Kai fell to the ground several feet away. Growling and getting up, Kai stared daggers at Shura.

Clever but foolish. Now you must suffer a most painful death at the hands of a pure blood! Ice ball!”

Kai tossed a sphere of ice from his back, looking perfectly round without imperfections. Suddenly, it gave a flash of chakra, ice needles spewing out of it in every direction. Kai, who was standing nearby, didn’t fear, as his kekkei genkai liquified the ice as needles came by him.

.......

Zaku grinned as he saw the flame barrier get removed do to his attack. Their defensive position was down and they were now in the air once more. As Zaku began to prepare his arm implants for his next attacks, kidomaru took the initiative, spewing a large spider web to blanket the entire team Kohona! Not only that, but Sakon and ukon took action, flanking Raiku.

“Multiple fists barrage!”

Snickering, the brothers attacked with a ravaging fist barrage, strong enough to grind rocks into dust and trees into splinters. All the while. Kou looked on, completely lost, his eyes swirling.

“...someone please tell me what is going on...things are happening way too fast...”

........

“YAAAAAHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!”

Shukaku finished his wind projectiles firing at the pair, noticing A certain Yamanaka forgoing these attacks as well as defending, with her friend Damos nowhere to be seen. Shukaku laughed whole heartedly, the sand continuing to grow and splash everywhere nearby.

You go crazy girl! But ‘cha ain’t survivin’ this!!”

The Shukkau summoned forth a powerful energy sphere, pitch black. It raged with energy and it’s aura was deep red. The Shukkau gave a glare at her, not one of hatred. But one of bloodlust.

”TAILED BEAST BOMB!!!!”

Hinagiku clone

At first, both clone and original had thought Hama falling for their sloppily created diversion would be the best scenario but...that could most certainly work too. With Hama's attention focused several feet underground, it meant this Jonin-level clone was completely unhindered, and what else was she to do but play things to her advantage? Taking a forceful step forward, her speed spiked jets of wind and water carrying her forward.

Furījia

Although she was surprised by her opponent's reaction, she prepared to continue with her assault. Her attack was already prepared, and she would undoubtedly be able to launch it before her opponent's clone. She would sink her hair needles in the ground around her opponent, and then between both needles and her body, electrify him where he stood.

Her eyes narrowed, and she took aim but just as she prepared to fire, she felt an arm wrap around her waist and yoink her backward. She let out a panicked squeal, as she was tossed over a shoulder, the ground beneath her capture a complete blur. Before she'd even registered what had happened, Seiun and her battlefield had been flung far behind her.

Sagisō

Sagisō's brow was furrowed. Her opponent was odd to the extreme. No matter how skillfully she carried out her assault, her opponent would bend and twist in ways she was 100% sure, could not be achieved by something with bones. Her own palm thrusts had been fast and fierce, imbued with chakra that left short booming bursts of wind and chakra in the air. She wasn't using a jutsu, no. She was merely striking out with the gentle fist.

Although her tactics so far had gotten her nowhere, the same could be said of her opponent, who couldn't launch the most effective attacks while being forced to dodge.

The two girls had separated, once more at a stalemate. They lunged, leaping into the air as they sought to clash once more. However, the fated clash would never occur. Hardly even seconds after she'd left the ground, the Nadeshiko kunoichi felt something snag her by the ankle. She swiftly pulled out of the air, and summarily stashed under someone's arm.

Said someone, had apparently also captured her sister who was just as confused as she was.

"Stap dawdling, transform into something more convenient!" The figure snapped with annoyance, her voice the familiar tone of their mother. Complying immediately, the two girls transformed into jewelry. Sagisō into a hairpin, while Furījia became a necklace.

Due to their weight having been reduced earlier, they weren't great burdens on the clone's speed even at full size. However, convenience was to be taken wherever it could be.

Hina Clone

Flitting from battlefield to battlefield, the clone seamlessly snatched up her children. In a matter of seconds, the only one who remained was Shura. Even he, however, was only a stone's throw away.

Shura had been the furthest from her starting point, which had been the forest. So she's thus chosen to grab Sagisō and Furījia first, who were also within that same forest. Now, what remained behind was a straight line to Shura and then to depart. A task that couldn't be any simpler.

She approached the battlefield between Kai and Shura, her voice going ahead of her. "Play time's over darling~ transform into something small so we can leave~"

Hinagiku real

Ticking off the seconds in her head, Hinagiku lazily looked up at Hama. "Unfortunately the Byakugan meant that no one would play with me~ buuut-", She winked lightly and smirked, "I never got caught during tag." Pulling out a scroll, she released its contents into the air leaving a cloud of ash-grey substance floating towards the Yuki. She leaped upward traveling with the cloud but was careful not to let the substance touch her skin or clothing.

As her figure exited the cave, she let out a burst of wind chakra that both pushed her backward and sent the grey clouds around her drifting towards Hama. With a flip, she landed on the ground. "Tata now~"

Weaving hand seals, she gifted the Yuki a generous stream of water, which mixed with the dust cloud dying the waters a murky grey.

Once he felt the cold grip of the shadow release itself from his body, Kiro let out a sigh and before turning to face Takato. The Uchiha held a seemingly serious expression as he glared at the Nara. A few moments of silence went by with no one speaking, leaving Kiro time to look into his suspicions. Ever so slightly, he tilted his head to look behind Takato. Kiro’s own hand had been forced to move in a direction where there was ‘nothing’ due to the shadow. So it wasn’t surprising to see Takato still holding a hand behind his own back. Well, that didn’t bother Kiro whatsoever.

All Kiro had done was give Takato, unknowingly, the opportunity to truly determine who he trusted. That was all. Simply put, Takato had chosen to trust two prisoners over the esteemed leader of the Hyūga and her children. Though that hadn’t been Kiro’s intention, he did know the choice would have consequences to it. How this would be handled wasn’t any of his concern. In fact, either decision Takato made wouldn’t have even altered his own choice. As it stood, Kiro still believed the Hyūga Head would show up eventually.

“Well, I can’t say for certain whether or not your gamble was the right thing to do. Even with that item behind you back, doing this was risky. So I am grateful for your trust. Anyways, I would prefer if we continued the mission. Perhaps either by going around them or just go in the other direction. Any objections?” He glanced over in Tayuya’s direction upon stating that last question.

Truthfully, Kiro expected an outburst from Tayuya considering how desperately she wanted to see her old Sound comrades again. She might even see this as a betrayal just like the last time he tried to strike a deal. If she only knew what he had been trying to do back then would’ve benefited both of them... no, this was no time to look back. Tayuya would have to trust him here too. After all, Kiro knew he would have to pay the snake back for his generosity one way or another. It was all just a matter of timing.

Shura stepped back a bit when Kai’s ice giant appeared on the scene. He put his arms up to block the force and ice shrapnel that were flung everywhere when the giant was shattered by his bomb tags. Looking over at Kai while he stared back intensely, Shura let out s sigh when the Yuki ninja insulted him once again. “You’re still the same babbling hyena aren’t you.” He spat back. Moving behind one of the non fallen tree, Shura aimed to shield himself from the hailing ice needles as he prepared his next attack. As Shura raised his hands, Hinagiku’s clone showed up and informed him that time was up. “Already?” Shura thought before nodding to the clone. Peeking around the corner, the Hyuga glanced at Kai. “As much as I’d like to finish what is start, it seems I have to leave now.” He said as he made a hand sign. “Maybe we can continue this another time.” He added before transforming into a kunai.

Misa stopped and looked at Shukaku when he made a comment about her. “Crazy girl? Why aren’t you charming.” She said. Looking at the Biju form his beast bomb, Misa was unfazed by the sight, in fact a slight smirk grew on her face. “Hey Damos! I know for a fact that first air blast did not kill you. How long are going to leave a lady waiting huh!” She shouted.

As Raiku jumped into the air he began doing hand signs. His hands was slightly burnt from the flames but quickly recovered back to normal. He saw Kidomaru sending out a large web to blanket his team so he activated his jutsu after finishing the signs.

"Fire Style: Fire Lash Jutsu!"

He released a line of flames that cut the web and also used it to attack Sakon and Ukon before he could be hit by their fists.

"Taiyo attack Zaku before he can release his airwaves!" he shouted as he reached a tree to get out of staying vulnerable in the air.

At the first sign of the smoke, game lifted a finger, raising her and her amber platforms much higher into the sky, far away from the smoke and water plume. She smirked through the amber colored octogons, her reflection visible through it.

“Tsk tsk...darling, you forget I have full control on my Comfy little platform here. Cant believe you tried to rush past me through the AIR while I’m in flight. Good try though, A for effort~”

In one swift move, since Hingaku was already on the other side of the amber octogon, she darthed toward her using the octogon she stood on. After she did that, the other octogons rotatinga round her both shifted their angle by one quarter and closed in, forming dodecahedron right up around both Hama as well as Hingaku. Hingaku still in flight while Hingaku stood on the platform. It quickly became pitch black do to the lack of sunlight. No opening was visible. No visible way for either of them to exit.

“Oh ho ho~ what was that you said? Never been caught in a game of tag?”

Hama, as fearless and playful as ever walked up to Hingaku, who was still airborne. She put her hands on her hips and gave a hearty laugh, her body language for her stance was all sorts of wonky.

“Surprise~!”

........

The HELL he will!!!

Kai growled, his fist tightening and covering with frost due to his anger. He was beginning to lose it, he made several handisgns, rushing toward Shura, who was now a Kunai.

“Ice wall! 360°!”

Suddenly, water crystallized around kai’s position, forming a distinct hamsterball of ice. Kai then jutted his hands out, two tendrils of water forming to the left and right of sphere. He clenched his hands while his chakra on his feet kept him still. Before long, the water tendrils slammed on the ground like an octopus and sent the Yuki flying towards Shura and the hinagaku clone.

.........

Dust wand sand flew everywhere after the Shukaku fired his attack....everything was obstructed from view. Who was dead? What was destroyed? Who could say? What was certain is that something had collided with the tailed beast bomb....

....
.....
.......
As the dust settled, the Shukkau was face first in the ground, a massive crater all around it. Behind the Shukkau was something...horrific.

A massive red structure had forced the shukaku to faceplant and Fire the tailed beast bomb at itself. This red structure was an eldritch Nightmare! It had a a melting skull on it’s face, looking similar to that of a cow skull with crystalline. Black and red horns jutting out of it, and it’s body made up of nothing but sheer red, veiny tendrils. Several of the tendrils had been shoved onto the giant Tanuki, the skull itself seemingly hovering over the process, several dozen tendrils flopping chaotically behinds it as it demonically loomed over the battle.

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAR!!”

The bloodcurdling screech resonated throughout the mist, shivers fell upon every spine. They knew...Damos was real. The massive form began to drag the Shukkau deeper into the water below, which was now pitch black. Shukaku grunted and resisted, it’s arms and tail lashing out at the from, severing several tendrils. The Shukkau bit down in the massive form’s ‘neck’, but it was all in vain. The form coiled tendrils around the shukaku’s head while tendrils that the Shukkau but on fastened his mouth into a muzzle. It was over.

The shukaku was now being dragged down helplessly into the water. Foot by foot, inch by inch, the Shukkau sunk down into the murky depths of hell. The beast and shukaku vanished from view, the water deathly still....

..
...
.........

Out of the water, several dozen meters away, Damos emerged, his Akatsuki cloak undamaged and his mask pristine. He looked toward misa, without sign of the shukaku.

“Time to leave.”

Taiyo
At Raiku's request, Taiyo seemed to begin making hand symbols for a fireball jutsu. The hand symbols came out slower than usual, as if it was lacking the cerainty of practice. But once the process was completed, he threw the projectile at Zaku as fast as he could, along with a quip to complement it

"Fire Release, Fireball Justu! Eat it, blowhard!"
Seiun
Initially, Seiun's disposition was nonchalant, holsing complete confidence in his clone. However, that calm attitude would've been decimated, for Furijia would have been able to launch her attack before Seiun's clone. As to break the silence, the sound of surprise escaped the Lightning Rouge's former opponent, as she was seized by an unknown figure.

The hell..?

Putting away his axe and allowing his clone to disappear, Seiun attempted to look for the person reaponsible for taking away his prey. He then began to debate whether he ought to kill or thank his inadvertent savior, the former option for depriving him of an easy kill, and the latter for allowing himself to be exempt of the restrictions of combat. The decision was made to simply take a nap in the missle of the battlefield due to Seiun not having an opponent.

Nice...finally, things are goin my way.

Unfourtunately for the rouge, his nap was short lived.
Tsuki
Meanwhile, Tsuki was attentively observing the battlefield, and saw the sight of Seiun laying down. This caused her to become enraged, and this rage led to her finally leaving her refuge behind her tree to attend to her lazy servant.

"Wake up!" Once she was next to Seiun, she slapped him with the power to peirce armor. In response, the rudely awoken rouge vaulted himself upwards ans began shouting at his mistress.

"What the hell, Tsuki?!"

"I could say the same!"

"Why'd you slap me?!"

"A better question would be: What kind of warrior naps in the middle of a battlefield?"

"I can answer that question; a warrior who has conquered his opponent,"

"Less 'conquered' and more 'bailed out by a stranger'!"

"And you're one to talk, you hid behind a tree half the battle!"

"That was because I-" Tsuki stopped mid-sentence in fear of revealing herself to be the source of the needles to Shura, who could very easily hear the ensuing argument, "I don't have to explain myself ro you!"

"You don't, so rhanks for proving my point,"

"You...I....Grrgh!" Tsuki stormed off in search for Hyo while Seiun wore a smug grin and turned his attention towards Kai and Shura's battle.

Hinagiku

"You took the words right out of my mouth—"

A sly shift of the eyes brought Hinagiku's vision away from the haughty Yuki. Once golden and fallen to darkness, a section of the Dodecahedron had grey to a brittle hue.

Tension coiled in the Jonin's body. Ligaments and tendons holding force like taunt bowstrings. In heartbeat, her body snapped into motion— an unswerving arrow on a collision course with the Dodecahedron's walls.

"—Surprise~!"

The Ice-wall gave way, its structure collapsing as Hinagiku delivered a fierce palm-blow. In but a few breaths of time, Hina was out and rapidly scampering away. Even as she made off to vanish into the forest, her voice called back. "I told you, darling, I never lose at tag...~"

----------------------

To make sense of everything that led up to Hinagiku's smooth escape, time would need to be rewound.

A few seconds earlier, while Hama had been shifting her dodecahedron into position, Hina had not been idle. The ash-grey waters that Hama had so conveniently avoided had been seized by her control. When the Yuki's ice dome had formed, Hina had beckoned the impure liquid towards her person. As a result, it'd met with the semi-solid ice dome and began mixing. The chilling nature of the Ice-release chakra woven into the dome then began to work its magic. the mixture of liquids began to freeze-dry, forming into . . .cement!

One of Hinagiku's preparations for this mission had been several cache's of rock-dust. To be more specific, limestone dust. While merely some crushed up rocks in that hands of the unskilled, Hina had been able to convert this limestone to a more useful form —Calcium Oxide! More commonly known as Quicklime and was a major component in cement mix!

A simple addition of water and sand would allow the creation of a primitive brick. It went without saying that no sand had been mixed in. A combination of insufficient materials as well as a weakened structure —caused by the freeze-drying of the mixture— had allowed a pseudo-concrete to be created within Hama's ice dome. Much weaker than the other sections of the dome, Hina had been able to smash through it without much trouble.

Baiyan

"Yes...the 6th sister."

The sword star was troubled —nay, curious— about these rapid new developments. Lin Chong, the Majestic Star, was in Takigakure, and just the other day Baiyan had received a missive for search. In addition, it had only been a few months ago that Nadeshiko had gone contrary to its norm. They had sent a kunoichi to take part in the Chūnin Exams.

Given the event was a series of war games which drew the attention of the entire ninja world, there was no better stage to perform on, and the one chosen to perform on that stage had been Sagisō. It was through her that Nadeshiko had revealed its fangs to the world.

From what Baiyan knew, her 36th sister had done her job perfectly, achieving success in the qualifying rounds. She'd copped out as a member of the top 8. An excellent position —one which couldn't have been more perfect. It was just enough to display Nadeshiko's metal without drawing too much attention to themselves. It was rather odd to see someone from a minor village making the top 8 after all.

Sagisō might've been the biggest dark horse of the tournament had it not been for...

Taking the exams by storm a young, feisty Amegakure ninja had snagged the seat of the victor. Even further, she'd directly challenged the authority of the five great Nations. It'd been three months since then, and news traveled fast. The Chūnin exams were watched by hundreds, if not thousands after all. Even here in Takigakure, Baiyan had caught wind of the proceedings.

To have then been approached by an Amegakure Shinobi who knew Sagisō from the Chūnin exams? There were hardly so many coincidences in the world.

Disregarding the situations Nadeshiko was directly involved in; Konohagakure had been attacked, and posters for a missing Jinchuriki had been littered everywhere. Whispers and rumors filled the darkest alleyways —whispers of change.

Baiyan agreed with them. Change was indeed coming. However, an era of change must first be preceded by an era of chaos!

Coming to the realization, the Sword Star burst into uproarious laughter. She giddy with her excitement, and she could feel the vibrations in her sword. A premonition —it would see more blood than it's creator had ever imagined.

Stifling her outburst, she turned towards Azumi. "Allow me to introduce myself yet again —Baiyan Lianhua, Nadeshiko's Sword Star, Ranked 27th and Nickname the Pertinacious, but— you can call me Ruan Jin'er! As for you...Sayuri fits, doesn't it?"

Her eyes were wide open. Lightlessly dull and amber, and seeming to size up Azumi —nay, Sayuri— in a new light.

"Well— shall we depart?"

Hyōryugetsu

Chakra laced palms delivered an unending stream of devastating palm blows. Flexible wrists, and well-oiled joints provided leverage and control. The opposing Hyuga battled with one of the most variable fighting style Hyo had ever encountered. Solely through their brief combat, the Hozuki had been able to identify three different attacking patterns in the girl's movements.

Sometimes she was ferocious. Fingers hooked like 3-inch claw she punished the air; sending it screaming in shrill tones. The Hozuki had seen those beast-claws in action, leaving deep lacerations in tree trunks and rending apart bolts of water. The power with which she struck betrayed her slender figure, and it didn't take an expert to realize there was more at work than simple chakra.

Other times she was graceful. Arms loose and supple, striking like whips guided by her whirling shoulders. Rather than palm strikes, what tipped the end of these whips were dagger-like chops and swift shocks. It was not the change in attacks that had allowed the Hozuki to notice this variation. Instead, it was the abrupt snap of speed which accompanied its strikes.

At yet other times, she was ruthlessly efficient. Shoulders, elbow, knee and hip strikes flowed into each other, each aimed at vital areas of the body. They were serpentine strikes laced with a chakra blocking venom.

But no matter how varied and unpredictable her strikes, Hyoryugetsu could top them. Regardless of how well the attacks were lined up or how inescapable the situation seemed, Hyoryugetsu would also slip away at the last moment. A severing strike toward her waist would be dodged by separating her body, allowing the strike to pass between the two halves.

She could count the number of times her opponent had balked —however briefly— at a maneuver that shouldn't have been humanly possible. The being said, the surprise went both ways...

Without a doubt, it was those eyes. Nothing the Hozuki did could be hidden from them. Morphing an arm into a blade, or growing a row of spikes from her skin. Each attack, no matter how sneakily performed would be seen and reacted to.

This had been, without a doubt, a complete stalemate from the first exchange of blows. That balance had been maintained until her opponent had been —quite rudely— snatched away.

As the figure blinked into the distance, Hyoryugetsu stood still —observing. It was, after a moment of thought, that she determined the best course of action. Biting down on her thumb, she summoned Lluvia. The once clear skies darkened with clouds, and with a resounding crash of thunder, the skies wept. Sheets of bone-chilling rain descended on the battlefield, drenching everything. Needless to say, the oil fire had erupted with unspeakable fury and was now devouring its way through the forest and a breakneck pace.

It was then, and only then, that Hyoryugetsu began her pursuit.

While she herself had no chance of catching up to her target, her rain were another story. Icy droplets shrouded the location of Kai's scuffle with Shura, weaving together into thick curtains of mold-able water. Which was exactly what Hyo aimed for.

Right after the Clone has snagged the Shinobi turned Shuriken, it shot towards a nearby tree and used the trunk as a springboard to high-vault over Kai's charging ice dome. The clone appeared to have determined that going above, and in opposite direction of Kai's momentum was the optimal choice. The Yuki's ice-dome was being guided by the tendrils growing from the side and giving it propulsion. However, another way to look at it was that those tendrils were the only things able to change the Ice-ball's velocity & momentum.

Even if the aforementioned assumption was false, given that the Yuki was now airborne and had sizable magnitude of momentum, to change direction he could only leverage those tentacles. However, to obstruct the clone he would need to not only completely reverse his momentum, but also add vertical momentum to intercept the aerial-clone.

However, that didn't account for Hyo nor her rains. Thus, in that moment —as the clone was air-borne, and surrounded by water— that Hyo acted. Under the Hozuki's manipulation, the rain drops gathered around the clone, forming in impromptu water prison.

'Gotcha— wait, WHAT!?'

Almost as quickly as it'd formed, the ball of water shattered. It's volume drenching the ground below. Completely unhindered, the Clone landed on a tree-branch and began to dart from branch to branch.

Hyoryugetsu watched, wide-eyed, but her attention was focused on the puddle of water that had once formed her jutsu. It had only been a brief moment, but the feeling transmitted through the chakra in the water was enough for the Hozuki to piece something together. There'd been a brief 'shock' of chakra emitted from the Clone's body that had disrupted her own ability to control the water.

Pursuit...would be no easy task. The clone soon vanished behind a blockage of trees and branches, but Hyo was not concerned. As long as the clone was within her localized rain storm, she would be able to sense its general location.

But, even before any kind of pursuit could be initiated, they first needed to gather their bearings and with that in mind— "Well, Prince, are we going or..?" —she turned to Kai.

Putting her hands behind her head, Misa casually strolled up to Damos. “Sure took you long enough.” She said to the man. Hearing him say it was time to leave, a smirk grew on Misa’s face. “Oh good we’re done here. I didn’t hate it here but all this salt water isn’t a very exciting sight. I could go for a change of scenery.” She said as she followed Damos along.

Sagisō ~~Flashback~~

The morning broke as a Sagiso —now fully clothed— sat within her humble abode. She had in her hand a book on acupuncture and the meridian system, and at her side were stacks of books covering a wide range of topics. Her cell had been filled with enough books to create a small bed, and yet still, more were to come.

The Hyuga didn't exactly have the habit of execution by boredom. Each prisoner would be able to request leisure activities to keep themselves occupied. By passing on the message through Furijia, Sagiso had been able to get her books delivered at the crack of dawn as they'd been prepared the night before.

Even as she flipped through the pages of her literature —this one and in-depth analysis of chakra & the chakra network and its relations to Qi and the meridian maps— she could hear the guards asked Kiro for his choice of activity, as well as the cling of the lock mechanism as Shura was released and escorted outside. His time served.

Drowning out the noise, Sagiso focused on her book. Chakra began to funnel into her eyes, and veins webbed across her face as her Byakugan activated. She was pushing her dojutsu several degrees higher than the norm, which she commonly used for combat. So much so that the whites of the Byakugan were not pure, but rather fractures by the appearance of small blood-vessels and capillaries across her eyes.

With her ability to react and process information greatly increased by her dojutsu, she began to flip through the pages and record-breaking speeds. She was using the Byakugan to speed-read.

. . . . .
The meridian network is typically divided into two categories, the jingmai —or meridian channels— and the luomai —or associated vessels (sometimes called "collaterals").

The jingmai contain the 12 tendinomuscular meridians, the 12 divergent meridians, the 12 principal meridians, the eight extraordinary vessels as well as the Huato channel, a set of bilateral points on the lower back.

The collaterals contain 15 major arteries that connect the 12 principal meridians in various ways, in addition to the interaction with their associated internal organs and other related internal structures.

The collateral system also incorporates a branching expanse of capillary-like vessels which spread throughout the body. If one counts the number of unique points on each meridian, the total comes to 361. Note that this method ignores the fact that the bulk of acu-points are bilateral— meaning that points can be counted twice, once from the front, and another from the back— making the actual total greater than 600. Most acu-points are situated along the major 20 pathways (i.e. 12 primary and eight extraordinary channels).

There are "12 Principal Meridians" where each meridian corresponds to either a hollow or solid organ; interacting with it and extending along a particular extremity (i.e. arm or leg). There are also "Eight Extraordinary Channels", two of which have their own sets of points, and the remaining ones connecting points on other channels.

The 12 Principal meridians are separated into Yin-natured and Yang-natured, and then further split by where they run, arms or legs.

The Yin Meridians encompass;

Arm (Yin)

  • Tai-yin Lung Meridian
  • Shao-yin Heart Meridian
  • Jue-yin Pericardium Meridian
Leg (Yin)
  • Tai-yin Spleen Meridian
  • Shao-yin Kidney Meridian
  • Jue-yin Liver Meridian

Arm (Yang)

  • Tai-yang Small Intestine Meridian
  • Shao-yang Sanjiao Meridian
  • Yang-ming Large Intestine Meridian
Leg (Yang)
  • Tai-yang Bladder Meridian
  • Shao-yang Gall Bladder Meridian
  • Yang-ming Stomach Meridian

The eight extraordinary meridians are of pivotal importance in the study of internal martial arts. These eight extra meridians are different to the standard twelve organ meridians in that they are considered to be storage vessels or reservoirs of energy and are not associated directly with any internal organs.

The eight extraordinary vessels are;
  1. Conception Vessel (Ren Mai) - 任脈 [rèn mài]
  2. Governing Vessel (Du Mai) - 督脈 [dū mài]
  3. Penetrating Vessel (Chong Mai) - 衝脈 [chōng mài]
  4. Girdle Vessel (Dai Mai) - 帶脈 [dài mài]
  5. Yin linking vessel (Yin Wei Mai) - 陰維脈 [yīn wéi mài]
  6. Yang linking vessel (Yang Wei Mai) - 陽維脈 [yáng wéi mài]
  7. Yin Heel Vessel (Yin Qiao Mai) - 陰蹻脈 [yīn qiāo mài]
  8. Yang Heel Vessel (Yang Qiao Mai) - 陽蹻脈 [yáng qiāo mài]

. . . . .

'Hmm, it seems straight forward enough. There are 20 Major Meridians, divided into the 12 Principal Meridians and the 8 Extraordinary Meridians.'

Thrumming her fingers against the pages, she began to digest what she'd just read.

'In addition, each of the 12 Principal Meridians is connected to an internal organ...'

That was were the first point of confusion came from. Lung, Heart, Bladder, Gall Bladder, Large Intestine, Small Intestine, Kidney, Spleen, Stomach and Liver. She knew of all those organs, but...

'Sanjiao..? Pericardium..?'

She'd never heard of those organs, and found it difficult to imagine what they might function like. Tossing the book to the side, she began to flip through the list of books related to Biology and internal organs. The search was long, and even with the ability to read from several books at once due to her field of vision and processing capacity, she'd spent almost an hour before finding success.

'Ah! So they're not organs —not in the technical sense anyway— but instead tissues. The Pericardium is a layer of protective tissue around the heart, and the San Jiao is a set of connective tissue that separates the Chest, Abdominal, and Pelvic cavities.'

Her reading session had been enlightening, though she did notice that the diagrams provided by the books for the meridian system were almost indistinguishable from the chakra network. In fact, many of the path ways and unique points overlapped. Coincidence? Maybe, but it was then a rather helpful coincidence.

However, even more exciting than that was the following line;

—These eight extra meridians are different to the standard twelve organ meridians in that they are considered to be storage vessels or reservoirs of energy and are not associated directly with any internal organs—

Sagiso's hands wandered idly, stroking at her arms and twining in her hair.

'If the 8 Extraordinary meridians are storage areas...could they perhaps be used to store chakra..?'

The idea excited her, and the resultant possibilities were almost endless. However, the gleeful smile on her face had faded as soon as it'd come, replaced by a look of pensive distress.

'Taking a step back there are at least five—no, six different problems I need to solve first;

One, it could outright kill me! I don't know how funneling chakra into these vessels will affect my body, and if one loses all their chakra...they'll die.

Two, even assuming it doesn't kill me, at the very least attempts could cause severe injury. The meridians are tightly entwined with internal organs, and it would be foolhardy to play around with them.

Three, even if simply poking around doesn't cause internal injury, I have no method of actually storing chakra.

Four, assuming I did find a method of storing chakra, I don't have the chakra control necessary to consistently manipulate my chakra on such a small scale.

Five, even if everything before wasn't important, I don't know what will happen if I fail the jutsu. I figure the excess chakra would flush into by chakra system and run rampant. The Wind Shadow is a controlled burst of energy and even than can cause severe damage to my legs...I wouldn't want to see what happens when uncontrolled energy runs rampant near my internal organs...

Six, let's say there are no drawbacks to failure. How would I even utilize this excess chakra? Just as an additional reserve of chakra? Sure that'd be nice...but what a waste!
'

The path ahead was long an arduous, she'd already come up with six different problems with her idea, and half of them ran the risk of death.

'I need...more information. I'll have to ask mother about it when I get out...but for now—'

Pupil's gleaming with a fierce resolve, the girl threw herself back into her studies, voraciously devouring book after book.

As Sakura seemed to try and move away, the Genin glanced over at the mass webbing that tried to ensnare all of them at once. The other threads were set ablaze though it appeared It the pink-haired kunoichi intended to do something about those strands or even simply launch a counter strike she seemed to reach for her weapon's pouch, however before any action could be taken...

"Wind Style: Cyclone Shot Jutsu!"
A powerful but focused cyclone of high velocity wind came from the base of the Rashamon as Kakashi managed to successfully scale over it and fired said current towards Sakon, Ukon and the inflamed strands of webbing that had not been melted. Kakashi had taken one glance at the situation as the Oto-nin appeared to be on the attack. It had not taken long for the veteran to understand once he had seen that what was going on as Kakashi's aim seemed to be clear; to both attack the Oto-nin and move them along with those debris from his team all in one fell swoop.

Meanwhile, his lone Sharingan eye scanned the area as his electricity crackled on a free hand for the other Oto-nin. Already the gears had began to turn as he knew that this was a fight they needed to settle and move away from quickly.

Seeing the door to his cell get unlocked, Shura stood up. “Oh, guess my stay in here is over.” He thought as he made his way out of the room. Glancing around the dungeon one more time as he was escorted out, Shura noticed the mountain of books that were lying around in her cell. “Wow, way to abuse the system.” He thought before leaving the prison area.

Shura thought about what he should do after leaving his confinement. “Guess could check on the garden.” He thought before starting to walk towards his newfound destination. The Hyuga strolled into the greenhouse outside, looking around at the greeenries and flowers of different colors, until he saw a lone forget-me-not at the end of the room. Shura let out a sigh when he saw the flower.

Hama gave an amused expression as haiahu escaped the amber dome. It seemed the hyuga clan head would be trickier than anticipated, but it made little difference in hama’s mind.

“Avoiding one lion in a den of them hardly counts as an escape, darling~”

With that, the dodecahedron, minus one octogon of course separated. They became individual plates once more, Hama standing on a singular platform while the rest of the plates spun like a fan blade around her.

In a swift move, Hama tore straight towards the hyuga, gaining ground exponentially! The amber fan blade like movements chopped down all trees in her path in a single chop of a plate. All the while, Hama was save in the center of the fan. The hyuga becoming thirty feet away. Then twenty, then ten!

......

Kai growled as the clone narrowly. escaped his attack. Balling his fists, he whipped back to Hyo and the rest of team mist.

“After them!”

Quickly, his ice wall around him began to morph. Soon it became a larger ice wyvern than what was previously created. Sliding in the ice, Kai reappeared outside of it, along it’s neck. Kai beckoned then for a second, using some leniency by making the tail much longer than natural so they could grab it.

Then wyvern leaped off the ground and soared into flight, much faster than simply pursuing by foot.

.......

The rest of the webbing was blown aside by Kakashi’s sudden entrance, Sakon and ukon however, were having None of it! They slide behind Raiku so he would take the hit instead, and for assurance, they prepared a triple backhand for the uchiha’s neck.

“Eh? You think a little fire is gonna stop me?” Zaku snickered. “Decapatating airwaves!”

He fired a powerful burst stream of air at the fireball, but at the distance he was countering it, a splash of the fire came back and burnt a portion of his wrist and cheek whilst dissipating the fireball.

“Tch! Only a few burns...” Zaku leered. “You think I’m gonna run home to mommy?”

Kidomaru wasn’t standing idly by doing nothing. He was greatly disturbed by Kakashi even BEING here. So he had quickly changed into his curse mark 1 state, black marks curling wickedly around his flesh. Using for of his arms, he wabricated two sets of miniature bows, forming from hardened spiders silk from his top and bottom arm on either side. Then, his middle arm on either side layered a spider silk thread in between them before loading up four powerful arrows.

“Spider bow: Piranha arrowhead!”

He shot the four arrows, two going in toward Taiyo, one at Sakura, and another at Kakashi. Hoping to keep them all busy so they could secure at least one of them as a hostage.

Meanwhile Kou looked too and from them, a squeaking in his pocket heard. He turned around, knowing exactly what it was, and pulled out a small rat.

“Squeak squeak!” The rat uttered.

“Stand and fight? And you crazy? No offense bro, but they can shoot fireballs and summon giant...uh...whatever that thing is.”

“Squeaaaaak!”

“What are you getting at?”

“Squea squeak squea!”

“you...mean that’s possible?”

“Squeak!” The rat nodded.

“But um...would want to cause any trouble for ‘em or anything...”

‘Something to keep me from dying of boredom huh... I wonder...’ Kiro tilted his head ever so slightly in Sagisō’s direction before looking back at the guard who questioned him. If he remembered correctly, the girl in the cell next to his had received a good amount of books earlier. He pinned it as ‘Hyūga privilege’ but apparently they weren’t discriminating between the two. Fair treatment he supposed.

“How about some books then? That shouldn’t be too much of a hassle for you guys. What do you have on the first, second, and third wars? You guys should definitely have stuff on the warring states period as well. I figure most of the historical studies would be from the Leaf’s perspective though. That’s fine, I’ll take whatever you guys have. Even social studies from those time periods would be appreciated.”

It would be interesting be to see how the different eras compared to each other. What were the similarities? Was it war? What about the differences? How had shinobi evolved through time? Their history and culture, how did it all connect? Learning how the past connects to the present and impacts the future from a philosophical standpoint intrigued Kiro.

Like the Mist, the Leaf was also rich with history. With clans. With legends. But unfortunately, Kiro wasn’t bestowed that knowledge due to the harsh environment he grew up in. He wondered how his views of this cruel world would be affected by gaining in depth knowledge from a different perspective. Would they be proven correct or...?

“Anyways, that should be all.” He lied. A lie to himself mainly. Truthfully, there was one more topic a part of himself wanted to add to that list. Something that should’ve been understood by now. However, Kiro could not find it in himself too truly achknowledge the cursed blood that flowed through him.

Koki'o

Breathe in. Salty air currents filled Koki'o's lungs, ribcage expanding as her body stuffed itself with oxygen. Breathe out— "BOO!!!"— right into Amari's ear. Scampering a distance away, only playfully concerned with Amari's vengeance, Koki'o giggled. "Sitting all by your lonesome— this is why you have a depressing title like Solitary Star."

Her words casually disregarded that her own title was Crying Star, which was perhaps an even more depressing title.

In any case, while their allies busied themselves playing in the sand Koki'o grew bored. As such, she'd come to make a nuisance of herself and bother Amari.

Hyōryugetsu

Rather than grab onto the Wyvern's tail, Hyō had allowed it to take off and then with a leap and a flip, she was attached to its underbelly. Chakra circulating through her legs held her firm to the icy construct, but more importantly, she'd kept her arms free to weave hand seals.

Amari let out a sigh of slight frustration. She was of course, aware of the approaching threat to her solitude; after all, it was impossible not to hear the sound of her sister and her scorpions. Koki'o was definitely not the quietest among the stars of Nadeshiko, nor did she try to be. It also did not help that Amari was completely in tune with everything going on around her when she heard the footsteps in the sand. This did not change the fact that the disruption jarred Amari from her concentration.

"Koki'o, I truly adore you, but I do wish you would respect the time I need for meditation. The reason being, when you don't let me meditate, I could conceivably get a little angry and I may do something rash and against my better judgement like this." As she was talking she got out her staff. She carefully aimed it and threw the staff so that the end of her staff that was in the shape of a crescent moon perfectly grazed the cheek of her sister, without doing any real damage. "As for my title, I don't really think the crying star is one to talk now, is she?"

Koki'o

"Yes, yes, Miss Flowery Monk."

The crying star rolled her eyes at her sister. While her staff had just barely grazed Koki'o cheek, she wasn't shaken in the least. It wasn't that the girl had nerves of steel or anything, but instead, she held completely confidence in her sisters. Sisterhood was the basis of Nadeshiko's strength, and a sister was always trusted unconditionally.

"How about you keep your better judgment intact until we're back home...for example, not throwing your weapon."

After the staff had grazed her cheek, Shaula's tail had been quick to coil around it, preventing it from going too far. With a deft flick, Koki'o tossed the staff back to Amari. "In any case, this mission is important, so we should both be serious."

Hinagiku

To mow down the entire forest just to catch up to her. Hinagiku sighed in admiration, her opponent sure had plenty of chakra to spend.

Despite the ruckus behind her, Hinagiku kept a consistent pace. She ran in a way that seemed effortless, her form impeccable as her body crossed swathes of land. From memory, she estimated that the team led by Guren was perhaps on a few kilometers ahead. Hopefully, seeing the trees dropping left and right wouldn't prompt them to move from their position.

As Team Suna gathered and scanned on the scenes of battle ahead of them, Koki'o was quick to display a pair of summons as she made some preparations while she conversed with Amari. During this, Madoka had her eye focused on the giant wall ahead of them that was the Rashomon as she remembered that sight all too well.

So....Oto is here then? That just makes this soo much more annoying...

"Well, seems things are getting interesting around here. My companions here picked up a few curious scents, those of both possible allies...and likely enemies all dispersed out...." Pakura said, as she had a pair of her coyotes still out as she moved to give a whisper towards one of them, and sure enough it scattered ahead as its mission was clear.

To head to one familiar scent it had. The scent of Hina, though given it appeared she had gained some distance from a more hostile scent it would trend lightly to avoid being an obvious means to trace back to Hina from an outside party. Naturally, Pakura hoped to make good use of that good will to possibly secure an ally.

"Well, seems there is a fork in the road. There are a few scents by that wall there if my baby here is any indication. But there also some other scents away from the wall gathered about. My best guess is that the ones by the wall are in a battle given the rumbles but whether the ones by the wall are support for a possible friend or an antagonistic agent. So before we jump into a fray let's see who our friends observing from afar are." Pakura explained to the group before she gave them a signal to move out. Madoka understood immediately and with a nod she would follow Pakura and motion for Koki'o and Amari to follow as they aimed to close in and see what group Pakura mentioned away from the Rashamon that the second coyote would lead them towards.

"Bold talk from someone without a bold bone in their body...." Tayuya muttered, though whether she'd make a frantic dash towards the Sound, strike Takato or simply go along with the mission had remained a mystery as she caught a sight of some distant figures moving which caused her to frown a bit.

"This place is getting a bit crowded for my liking." Takato added on, her hand reflexively on whatever item he had behind his back as he prepared for the worst but had yet to know who those figures were as he glanced to Kiro.

"So, think those eyes of yours can give us a clue of who we are gonna meet?" Takato asked Kiro, while the Sharingan was no Byakugan when it came to enhanced vision it still was far more perceptive than the eyes of normally well trained shinobi so he figured it was worth a shot if Kiro was to be trusted.

------------
Well, given the way they shifted around and moved with that intent, it seemed obvious what the Oto-nin planned to do and given the situation he had two options. But, he had been quick to act as he would bend his hands while he kept the hand sign for the cyclone; with his Sharingan covered Kakashi's eye remained sharp as he curved his cyclone and his aim appeared to be to avoid Raiku and curve the cyclone and around behind him while it would try to slam into the brothers from the side to blast them with violent force.

All the while, the air with it carried this gentle breeze...and an oh so subtle scent masked within it all around the area.

-----------
Well, that conversation had taken a turn.

Azumi was unsure who this "sister" of Baiyan was or what she said to her specifically, but it seemed to carry with it a new change in perspective based on what Azumi could pick up. Baiyan not only introduced herself once again but she seemed to carry with it new names for both herself and Baiyan but also a new...eagerness.

Whatever that conversation had been it seemed to lit some sort of fire, Azumi had been oblivious to what the context of it was but if Baiyan was gonna be better motivated for the task at hand she was one to not complain.

"Right. Let's move." Azumi replied simply as she would jump ahead, based on what reports or information she was able to scan about this caravan they would be within the heart of the woods outside Takigure. There was a mystery as to where their hideout had been, but if Azumi had to guess it was either some cave or underground hideout but that had been hypothetical. All she knew was she needed to find the trail and they could work from there.

------
WIthin the hideout in question, unaware of the latest pursuit party, Okabe decided to organize a meeting with the other "raiders" of the party to discuss their plans. Meanwhile, the other members worked on day-to-day duties as Chiziwa was off; book in hand and her children Kuroda & Watari on her lap as she had been reading them a story.

Both of them seemed engaged, and as they snuggled against their mother smiles were shared all around as Okabe had seen this off the corner of his eye and could not help but smile. In spite of his reservations of this path forced upon them, he was reminded of what he what everyone here strived for and knew there had been no backing down now.

"I know we need to be serious which is why I was trying to center myself before the upcoming mission when you so rudely interrupted me." Amari caught her staff as it came flying through the air. She fastened her staff securely onto her back perpendicular to her spine. As she was having her friendly conversation with Koki'o she noticed the Suna nin signaling that it was time to go. "Seems like the Suna nin are ready to head off." With that said, she went to follow Pakura and the other Suna nin.

Taiyo
A smirk seemed to sneak its way onto Taiyo's face as he set his sights upon the attacks that came his way. He found himself choosing between the arrows and the airwaves, with the former being faster than the latter but the airwaves packing significantly more power. The Leaf-nin seemed to narrowly dodge the piranha arrowheads and then turned towards the airwaves.

"Chakra Shields!" The FBS master's arms looked to be taking on the shape of an X and a shield appeared soon thereafter. The shield and the airwaves clashed, and while the airwaves were dissapated, Taiyo was blown back due to the shield shattering. Regardless, he appeared to be able to pick himself up and deliver another quip to Zaku.

"Honestly, I'd be surpised if your mom even loved you enough to kiss your injuries," Knowing he would have to counterattack, Taiyo looked to be taking a moment to contemplate. Luckily, inspiration struck the firey shinobi at the perfect time.

"Fire Release: Lesser Flame Flower!" Taiyo seemed to have shot a large fireball over team sound. The fireball than split into a myriad of smaller meteoric projectiles that were seemingly created for the sole purpose of wreaking controlled havoc towards the Oto-nin.
Seiun
The former rouge heard Kai's command to follow the two Hyuga but decided against heeding it. The reason being that Seiun was already bored, his target had alluded him, and he was rudely awoken from a nap not to long ago, those factors culminated into an overall sense of apathy and dissatisfaction. Then he saw Tsuki, whose apparently turned into minature infernos, and was seized by the wrist and dragged along with her. The Lightning Rouge attempted to pry his hand free, but that only caused Tsuki's grip to tighten.

Wait, when did she get such a good grip?! And more importantly, WHY HASNT SHE USED THIS KIND OF STRENGTH BEFORE?!
Tsuki
The Yuki-nin finshed her journey to Hyo abruptly as she saw that the Hozuki had no opponent left, just like Seiun.

It seems those two left the battlefield around the same time...but why, and where did they go..?

Hyo had previously asked Kai if they were to depart, and judging by the latter shouting a command of pursuit, Tsuki guessed that they were far from done with their opponents. As such, Hyo had departed by somehow attaching herself to the ice wyvern's underbelly, and Tsuki was about to do the same when she saw her servsnt being completely idle.

Are you kidding me?! That's it!

Enraged, the whip-wielder marched up to Seiun and forced him to follow the rest of the group, naturally lagging behind as she didnt take the wyvern. She felt Seiun's hand trying to free its counterpart on the other side, but she wasnt having any of it. She tightened her grip to make sure that Seiun got the message, which he fourtunately did.

I swear when we get home, this boy's gonna get beat harder than his mom ever could.

Ignoring Tayuya’s negative remark, mostly because he didn’t know who it was directed towards, Kiro responded to Takato’s suggestion. “I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to try.” He activated his sharingan and looked curiously in the direction of the figures in the distance. Though Kiro could barely see their chakra, he couldn’t make out anything else to determine if they were an ally or enemy. He had to go on assumptions.

“Yeah, there’s like six of them.” The six being Team Suna’s squad which consisted of Pakura, Sema, Madoka, Yasu, Koki’o and Amari. “Their chakra aren’t similar to a Hyūga’s. Excluding Sagisō’s sister, our other team also has only four members.” Those four members Kiro spoke of were Kakashi, Raiku, Taiyo and Sakura. Quickly considering the possibilities in his head, Kiro came to a solution.

“I think it would be safe to assume they aren’t Leaf ninja. So I suggest we move out now to avoid a potentially dangerous situation.” Rather than take an unnecessary risk, Kiro decided it was better to be safe than sorry. He made this clear by telling them honestly what he saw. Hopefully they would continue building in this trust by listening to him. “You should come along too.” Kiro told the jinchuriki with a generous tone. She should know the potential risks involved of waiting to see who that other team was. After sharing a brief glance with his squad, Kiro turned away and began to head off into the forest.

As the situation died down, Henshina has been out of the conversation for a while. As she didn’t have anything to say due to her lack of knowledge on the situation she has decided to stay silent. Hearing Kiro ask her to follow them, Henahina stopped to think for a second. “What do you think Gyuuki? These people have been pretty nice to me so far.” She though. Gyuuki let out a sigh. “Just do what you want, I don’t care as long as you don’t end up dead.” He responded. Henshina smiled. “Alright, I’ll do that.” She said, following Kiro as he left.

Hama hummed a pleasant little tune as she wrecked through a forest so fast the Lorax would cry. The amber shields tearing though the flora and ground, Hama easily gaining ground upon Hingaku. Soon enough, she was neck and neck with the hyuga, right beside her!

“Evening, darling~“

That’s when one of the amber octogons spun it for a butcher chop right on hingaku’s position.

“The jounin...this isn’t going according to plan!” Kidomaru murmured

Meanwhile, Taiyo evaded his attacks and created a frightening counter attack: a meteor storm of flaming debris! Zaku growled, knowing it would be extremely difficult to block them all, and neigh impossible to block it for the rest of his team. So he grit his teeth and cut his losses, looking to Decapatate the head of the snake.

“Alrighty then Punk, i’ll Give your own mother your regards at your funeral! Precise Decapatating airwaves!”

His focusing tubes aimed at Taiyo’s center body, firing two bullet like projectiles raging at speeds rivaling them as well. The sniper rounds ripped through the air, making a loud *BANG!* he ivrnoed the meteor shower over head, something Kidomaru shook his head at. How could he leave himself so exposed?

Kidomaru pulled the strings on the end of his arrows he shot, the threads yoinking them out of the air and intercepted a few meteor bits that would have been fatal or injure worthy, pinning the bits to tree bark. Meanwhile Zaku took the rest, flaming chunks hitting him in many areas, hitting his forehead, neck, back, shoulders, arms, and many more. Small cuts and bruises covered him with blood coming from a cut in his forehead, trickling into his headband, embers surrounding the sound ninja. All he did was snicker in response. It was like he had no fear!

“Ack! Aiiiye! Ahhh!”

...Same could not be said of Kou however, who frantically jumped about, avoiding flaming chunks of rocks. He made sure to keep his brother out of sight, especially when he saw Kakashi.

“That guy...he looks like the head honcho. Maybe he can call it off.”

Kou, determined to end the fighting climbed up on a tree branch, hoisting himself higher and higher on the tree before he reached kakashi’s branch. His hand struggling, but managing to lift himself up to it.

“Hey your...the head guy right?” Kou asked between breaths. “Can’t you call off this fight? Huh?”

......

With that, the wyvern took flight. It shrieked into the sky, following the Xeno convoy. It seemed that despite the drone’s size and aerodynamics, the clone was still faster than him. Not if Kai has anything to say about it! Kai made a handisgns, a stream of water replacing the tip of the tail. It seemed the tail slowly burnt away like a fuse, being fueled into a jet to give the drone temporary speed. It seemed to be catching up to the clone now, within firing distance of justu. Kai made a few more handsigns.

“Thousand needles of death!”

He stomped on the drone’s hide, a skin layer flaking off from the drone, forming several dozen needles. The needles were then sent off towards the clone, bent on destroying it and all it’s contents utterly

Hinagiku

Becoming a master of the gentle fist was a difficult task. It required not on consummate levels of chakra control —Hina herself believed in that regard, she was bested only by Lady Tsunade— but also a dexterous control of the body and sharpening of the mind. The Gentle Fist, as opposed to the ferocious fist, did not draw most of its power from training the body's muscles to become stronger and more robust but instead focused on minute control over each muscle (which wasn't to say they didn't train their muscles, it simply wasn't their focus.)

When they practiced, it was not the extreme sports of Might Guy and his protegee's but instead a slow deliberation of movements which the finer details were of paramount importance. The movement of each muscle, the posture of the arms and legs, the rotation of the hip, the flow of force through the body— when one could control each of these as freely as they breathed, then and only then, were they a master of the Gentle Fist.

Hinagiku was not such a master, but she was pretty damned close. The slightest variation in her footwork sent her body sailing to the side as the Amber wall smashed down at her previous position. Immediately after, her hands caressed the structure that now separated her from Hama. She kept running. Her fingers, which were now hovering along the amber octagon, burning with soft blue flames.

Her tongue glistened her lips, and she yanked, intending to tear the chakra from the wall and allowing the Lion heads that'd graced her arms to devour it with gusto. By traversing the wall of several meters in such matter she would quickly make up for any chakra she'd lost to this engagement.

Her move served two purposes. One was obvious, she was recovering what chakra she could. Two was more a by-product of One. The drained remnants of the Amber Octagons was now a barrier that separated her from the Yuki.

Hina ~~Clone

The Hina clone was fleet of foot, maintaining high speeds effortlessly. She'd correctly guessed that her pursuers stood little to no chance of keeping up with her under normal circumstances, however, a quick glance at the sky, and of the Wyvern that began to consume itself to fuel a burst of speed, and it was undeniable. These were not normal circumstances. Still, the clone wasn't particularly worried, even as the thousands of ice needles rained down on its position.

Withdrawing the kunai that was Shura, she lodged it in into the tree next to her and used wind chakra to sever the wooden giant. She ducked behind the falling tree for cover, allowing the Ice needles to bombard the forestry around her. Whistling to herself at a wonderful opportunity, she considered leaving the kunai behind. With the tree blocking their vision, and the rain of ice needles a perfect chakra mask to trick the sensory rains, it was almost too perfect to switch her children with replicas and lead the Mist shinobi on a fruitless goose chase.

Despite the opportunity, she decided against it. She was almost at her goal either way, as she could sense a chakra signature resonating with her a short distance away. From the memories inherited from the original, she knew this chakra signature signified Takato's tag.

Hinagiku ~~ Flashback

It was a curious choice. "History books, was it?"

The Uchiha had requested knowledge. A prudent choice for one so young. They could not deny him his desire, for it would be hypocritical. Yet, he must've understood, as well as they did, that knowledge was power and empowering their captive for far from wise.

This matter required careful consideration for its ramifications were not to be taken lightly. The decision had, predictably, fallen to Hinagiku's discretion. Though it was early, the ground still warming to the sun's presence, the Lady Hyūga was already up.

Her hair dripped with water, and a plush towel concealed her figure. She crossed her room barefooted, servants rushing about to prepare her clothing. Emerging from a hot bath, a privilege denied to the punished, Rakū had hastened to her Lady's side to relay the matter at hand.

For several moments, only the shuffle of feet filled the air and Rakū watched nervously as her Lady was submerged beneath the sea of servants. Things were not always this hectic, but today was a busy day for the Hyūga head. Her schedule, attended to by her aide, was stuffed minute to minute. It involved several visits to the varying Clans of the village, as well as less formal 'charity' visit to the areas affected by Orochimaru's attack.

The waves parted revealing Hinagiku in a formal Kimono; only one of many formal gowns she would don throughout the day.

"Approved...show him the many truths, and let him decide for himself which to believe."

History was tinted by the perspective of the writer. By keeping many books derived from many lands, the Hyūga had kept many different versions of the truth. They would freely allow Kiro to peruse them, where he could see for himself that the difference between A righteous cause and A great evil, was often who held the pen.

As Hingaku punches at the ice windmill of octogons with her lion fist, she seemed to punch a hole in the defense, breaking through a large chip of the amber...though no chakra was gained, and the momentum of the windmill wasn’t lost, it continued its track. Since she was already within inches of the windmill when the attack was launched, it was within milliseconds between the connection of the lion fist attack and the gr dining of the windmill against her pressumingly, a huge cloud of dust erupted as a result.

“Oh ho? Stopped to stand your ground? My, how...boring~”

Hama didn’t stop there, the windmill just kept chopping...and chopping. Entire rotations of the entire octogonal defense hammering away at her position. Trees, just being nearby this ruckus began to topple over, those that went into the windmill were ripped up like a wood chipper.

......

“Ngggh! These Xenos are too slipper!”

Kai growled as the tree provide perfect temporary protection for their escape. Kai’s wyvern streamed forward, one of the scythe like wings making a quick strafe across the kunai, checking if it were indeed Shura it not before darting straight ahead, going several feet in front of hina’s Trek.

“Hyo, now!”

Kai used the jet stream of water that was the take of the wyvern to his advantage. He would attempt to shoot Hyo through the water stream, cloaking her precense so she could grab a hold of the items, or at least some of them with her unique body. All the while the wyvern made a great distraction, two large two foot spikes disconnecting from the wings and hurtling toward the clone

Taiyo
After firing his counterattack, Taiyo soon found himself with new problem under the name of precise Decapacitating Airwaves. Due to the speed of the attack, the leaf-nin seemed to wince in fear before rolling to the left, the airwaves grazing his back and appearing to tear to his skin. It took him a bit, but Taiyo seemed to be able to recover from that hit, and he appeared to have a smirk on his face.

"Not bad, not bad at all," Taiyo looked to Sakura, and then to Raiku, and seemed to be giving hints for them to do something.

Hinagiku

A noticeable lack of chakra in the wall gave Hinagiku temporary pause. Her brow furrowed, and she was forced to make a decision in the precious few milliseconds that she had left. Weaving her chakra from the lion step into a cutting edge, she sliced clean a wedge from the ice blade. Shuffling into this wedge, she grit her teeth and prepared for impact, manipulating the flow of chakra in her body to bolster her defenses.

The ride on her ice seat was short and punctuated by the impact of her body crashing through the thrown up debris. Her rock-solid defenses could only protect her so much as she was rag dolled across the forest, debris shattering against her skin even as her skin shattered debris. Utilizing this momentum, she added to her speed, pushing through the forest line.

There, right where she'd left them, was team Guren. Although she had seen better days, she still flashed a smile at the Iwagakure team. Disheveled really couldn't begin to describe her current state, but her chakra had lasted her and she'd endured the thrashing. As her skin returned to its regular intonation, trickles of blood began to flow from where the debris had managed to pierce her skin.

Hyōgetsu

There was a wry smile on Hyō’s face as she traversed Kai’s water-stream. She was only slightly troubled that the Yuki would shoot her at their Jonin level opponent. Was he trying to get her killed —no, she didn’t think so. Well, she hoped it wasn’t so…

In all likelihood, the Yuki Prince had just severely underestimated their opponent or overestimated their own capabilities. Even as Hyō wove the hand-seals for the Water Dragon Whip, the clone danced through the air taking the Ice spikes as nothing more than aerial foot-holds.

As the clone bounced between the ice spikes, Hyōryugetsu bent the water to her will, guiding liquid tentacles to fill the air in an attempt to trap the clone. The sky became a nest of water-serpents, and Hinagiku’s clone was smack in the middle.

However, a Jonin was a Jonin after all their skills and judgment were far beyond anything a genin could hope to achieve. Enough ants may bite an elephant to death —perhaps this saying held true, but here, it would not.

Even as the clone’s body arched through the air, the clone turned its head, its intense gaze locking onto the Hōzuki. That single gaze overturned the girl’s world. Her limbs stiffened like lead and the air turned to quicksand. Forget about moving, even breathing was an immense straight on Hyōryugetsu’s body. It was for but a moment, but she was temporarily paralyzed.

Capitalizing on that instant, the clone slipped out of the serpent’s nest. She descended into the forest, bouncing from tree to tree with redoubled speed.

Hyōryugetsu blinked as the weight on her body melted away. The water dragon whips writhed, diving into the forest in hot pursuit. Though versatile and agile as they were, the whips could not keep pace with Hina’s speed.

Wrinkling her nose, now immensely wear of her opponent, but somewhat emboldened by the Jonin’s unwillingness or inability to assault them —Hyō moved off in ginger pursuit. She allowed many of the extra water whips to splash against the forest floor, but kept a few which she used to swing herself through the tree-branches.

Several seconds later, she came to a halt, one final swing sending her somersaulting through the air and landing on a thick branch. Her palm pressed against the rough bark to her side, fingers tense as she looked across the forest floor at the one who had become eight.

With three new additions to its side, the clone now stood amongst a group of six —Sagisō, Furījia, Kiro, Tayuya, Takato, Henshina, and presumably, Shura. It was from henceforth, that the clone seemed to pay no more attention to the Mist shinobi, though the opposite couldn’t be further from the truth.

Hyōryugetsu watched with laser-focus, taking in every interaction between the group of Konoha shinobi. Her eyes never left the group for a second. She took in everything: the uneasy articulations of the Nara, the duo of symmetric tomoe inhabiting the carmine mirror-wheel-eye, the wistful gaze from the sound kunoichi as she —somewhat reluctantly— shuffled along with the group, her heart —worn on her sleeve— torn between here and something off in the distance.

Hyō’s eyes never broke contact. Not as the Hinagiku clone slowly made her way around the group, hugging each of her children —including the Uchiha, Nara & Sound Kunoichi— nor as the clone took its time to whisper soft words to a select few, Kiro & Tayuya.

Be careful when a naked person offers you a shirt.

It was then, without fanfare, that the clone returned to smoke.

Interesting to the Hōzuki was the fact that not even once had Hinagiku even looked at Henshina, almost as if she were spurning the jinchuriki.

‘Finally.’ That was Kiro’s first and only thought upon witnessing Hinagiku’s arrival. Well that was until the mother went through the motion of hugging each of her children. However, when Kiro was greeted with the once treasured feeling of warmth, he had become frozen. ‘What is she doing?’ It was only when the clone spoke that Kiro believed he understood what her intention was. Before it vanished, the clone had left the two prisoners with a carefully worded warning.

‘Be careful when a naked person offers you a shirt?’

That would be like a person offering up something they didn’t have. That’s how Kiro interpreted the line at least. Was she talking about Orochimaru? It was a reasonable guess considering Tayuya had also received Hinagiku’s words of advice. However, Kiro couldn’t yet pinpoint exactly what was being referenced. Something that Orochimaru offered but didn’t have. What could that be?

In any case, that was a question that would have to be answered later as there were other more important priorities at hand. Looking over at the new arrivals, Kiro was pleased to see some of his predictions about the Hyūga had been correct. He snuck a glance Takato’s way before settling his sharingan on the most competent of the Hyūga trio.

“Hey Sagisō, so you mind telling us what’s going on? Correct me if I’m wrong but with the way you all showed up, I’m assuming the clone was being chased... maybe?” Other than the casual greeting, Kiro skipped straight to the point. Hinagiku’s clone was quick with her actions, not even sparing a moment for the jinchuriki. That was something he figured Takato picked up on as well. Kiro would’ve done another scan of the surrounding area himself but figured it would be best to get the information straight from the source.

When Hinagiku's clone had arrived at their destination, Shura undid his transformation. The Hyuga stood up and stretched a bit before locking his gaze towards the mist Ninja who had followed them. Looking at Hyogetsu with a blank stare, Shura didn't say anything. "Only a fool or a moron would attack now with the sheer difference in numbers.” Is what he thought.

Henshina looked at the new arrivals, she noticed Shura was with them. “Oh hey it’s Shura. Guess these are his friends.” She thought. As she raised her hand to wave at the new faces, Hinagiku’s clone disappeared in a puff of smoke. The Jinchuriki had a slightly confused look on her face. “Is it just me, or did it seem like that lady was purposely disregarding me?” She said out loud after putting hand on the back of her head.

Sagisō

Hearing Kiro's question, Sagisō decided to sum up the entire situation with a single word. However, what one word could possibly sum up all that had happened in a way that provided sufficient information to the Uchiha? It would be more correct to say rather than a word, it was a single name.

"Kai." She spat out the name blandly, feeling it would be enough for Kiro to piece everything together.
