"What? Are you joking? Your village is full of murderers that kill innocent people, including you. I'd try to kill you even if I did hate my village. But why should I do that? I may have gotten mad because of my failure in the Exams, but considering the events of the tournament today before you ninja began your invasion that may have been a blessing in disguise. Besides, the Leaf is my home. And I won't let you destroy the people I care about either which are part of it... so today... you die."

Raiku remembered what Zaku's jutsu was and knew that projectiles like kunai were useless... so he would have to beat Zaku by either using Taijutsu, Kenjutsu, or Ninjutsu. It's not like Zaku could see his Sharingan in the dark anyways so Genjutsu was out of the question.

Raiku began running around Zaku, using the darkness to his advantage as he could pinpoint where he was due to Zaku's chakra flow being visible. He spread bomb tags in the area before leaping backwards and weaving hand seals.

"Fire Style: Pheonix Flower Jutsu!"

He shot a volley of mini Fire Balls which lit up the area. Some were headed for Zaku himself... while others for the bomb tags.

Furījia shook her head in response to Kenji's question. "All these rocks kind look exactly the same, I can't navigate my way out of her as much as I would like because I can't use any significant features as a reference point. Basically, while I could guide us away from dead ends, I can't keep track of a mental map even if I tried to make one." Although she tried to come of as calm, her voice quivered and betrayed her unease. She couldn't even see a viable exit from these caverns, so she had no idea which way they should start walking. Her fists held tightly to the hem of her garment and tears welled in her eyes. She stared at Kenji, giving him the sort of pitiful look one would expect from a depressed puppy. Since Sagisō had specifically addressed him in her request, Furījia had already taken him to be reliable and looked towards him for some sort of comfort and leadership.

Zaku heard the sounds of paper in the darkness, slight fluttering and warping, like they were falling. Like leaves they crinkled with every slight air movement. Paper...either he has a paper justu or he is laying paper bombs. Heh, i know his play.
Zaku put his hands to the ground, a light high pitched sound was heard

“Splicing sound fall!”

As flames scorched towards him, lighting the area around temporarily. Right as this happened, air screeched out of the ground, the flames and the paper bombs splashed against it. A lot of the flames were nullified, but the paperbomb combo with this did make it buckle, embers filling the inside of his barrier, causing small strawberry burns. After the flames and paper bombs had been dealt with, the rocky area came back to darkness.

“Heh, now I see why you didn’t make it past the first exam!”

Using sound to his advantage, he lifted his boulder crushing air tunnels toward Raiku’s general position. If Raiku were to move, he would trace his every move with his supernatural hearing

“Decapatating airwaves!”

Raiku raised an eyebrow and saw Zaku's chakra being released from his palms. He ducked in response, the airwaves shooting right above him and destroying rocks.

"Wow. What a spammer. It's more annoying to see you fight in person. Very cocky too..."

While he was saying this Raiku did the Tiger hand seal.

Body Flicker Jutsu!

Raiku appeared to have teleported next to Zaku and took out his sword.

"Swift Blade Storm!"

Raiku performed a flurry of swings with his sword aimed at Zaku's hands with the intent of disabling his jutsu.

...what?!

Zaku was surprised at the sudden disappearance of sound coming from his enemy’s position. He then heard the calling out of a jutsu.

“Swift Blade Storm!”

Zaku has very little reaction time, a second at most. Not enough to preform a counter justu in time. Instead opened his hand and struck right where the sword was swinging, hitting the the side of the sword. The sword hit his metal implant, making a loud *CLANG!*. While the brunt of the force hit the implant, the rest of the blade made a long shallow cut along his hand, drawing blood. The blood dropped down to the floor, Zaku sweating.

“Heh....your tools of the past are yesterday’s news.” Zaku chuckled. “Your facing the justu of the future!”

His implant seemed to narrow as a high pitches sound was heard.

“Precise Decapatating airwaves!”

The implant already colliding with the sword would attempt to puncture through the sword with the force of a bullet similar to that of a sniper rifle. A point blank, he hoped to copy his success in a similar tactic used against Yasu and his sword

Taiyo seemed confused when Kenji stopped noting his things, a "b-" could be anything, bark, board, maybe even a book of some kind.
"I'll look in my bag for something that we can use. But I'll take anything flammable," The Leaf-nin told his allies, shuffling frantically for something. All he had was some shuriken, Senborn, and his knife, nothing too god for a torch. Tsuki fumbled through her bag in hopes of yielding a light but sadly nothing.
"Do you have any lights Madoka?" She asked her comrade, disappointed in herself for her inability to help out.

Kiro could hear a rumbling above him as he tore off what was left of a door. It fell into the seemingly never ending pit of darkness below him. Kiro managed to pull himself up into the bottom half of the vertical facing hallway, using the chakra on his hands and feet too stick to the floor. He paused for a moment to catch his breath. Even though it was only a few minutes, it seemed like an eternity since he had started too try and get out of this hell hole. However without his lightning armor active, it was nearly impossible to see. The noise above also seemed to be getting louder, which led Kiro to believe that he was almost out. Looking up, he could see something blocking the the rest of the hallway above him. Crawling up to it, Kiro forcefully placed his hand on whatever was it was, trying to move it. Touching it, Kiro felt he was touching something slippery, reptilian. It felt like the skin of a snake. Kiro pulled his hand back as the eyelids of a giant snake opened up, its glare directly facing him. Kiro completely froze as he looked into the eyes of a giant snake.

Kiro knew the feeling all too well. Trying so hard to succeed only to fail at something was something he never hoped to experience again. But as he looked into the eye of the snake, Kiro knew that it was already too late. The snake shook so violently that even Kiro, who tried his best to focus the chakra on his feet, couldn’t keep his balance. It felt like the world was shaking as this snake violently shook to get Kiro to move from its eye. Maybe if the snake stopped moving, then Kiro would but all he could do was stick a kunai in it to keep himself from falling. Then it happened. Kiro could feel himself as well as the snake suddenly drop. The destroyed part of the medical wing didn’t feel like holding them up anymore and instead allowed them to drop into the pit.

“No! This not happening, I’m not dying yet!” Kiro lost his grip on the kunai as the snake’s body suddenly turned. However, without lightning armor as well as being physically weak at the moment, there was nothing he could do. He fell into freefall along with the giant snake above him, which had actually turned its head downwards, with its mouth open in an attempt to devour its final meal. What really struck Kiro was the daylight that was behind the snake. He had been so close.

“Come on!” Kiro shouted as he tried to activate his lightning armor once more. However, all he received were small sparks of electricity which sizzled out only seconds later. He needed more chakra, which he didn’t have at access too at the moment.

‘Is this actually how it’s going to end?’ Kiro couldn’t believe that his life was going to end by him being spitefully eaten by a snake as they both fell to their death. In these final moments, he managed to find the humor in all of this. Instead of receiving the honor in dying in battle against a worthy opponent, his death would on another level of disgrace. Kiro watched as the light above slowly started to become covered by darkness as the snake closed in. Kiro himself closed his eyes and let his mind wander into the darkness that befell him.

He had not so long ago found his resolve to live. Kiro remembered that he had decided that he wasn’t planning to die anytime soon. Changing his plans so soon was not an option and so, Kiro could not afford to die just yet when he still had something to prove. Seeking the power that he had so desperately needed, Kiro subconsciously allowed a strange but powerful chakra to fuel him. It started to feed on Kiro’s own chakra as this new foreign chakra started to grow into something powerful. It just needed a final push. It had to know that Kiro didn’t want it, he needed it. Glowing, the pattern of the mark started to spread across Kiro’s body, revealing the amount of chakra he was receiving from the cursed seal. It was in this moment that he started to understand the gift Orochimaru had given him.

This power...’ Kiro opened his eyes once more, glaring at the snake hoping to devour him as chakra started to cloak his body once more. The foreign chakra that fueled him reeked of darkness, it felt horrible but necessary at the same time. As his lightning armor fully formed, Kiro’s attention was fully on the monstrosity in front of him. He wasn’t planning on letting this creature be the cause of his death.

The snake shut its mouth as soon as it had Kiro within its range. However it felt nothing being swallowed. Its last thoughts were filled with confusion as its brain was fried by lightning. Kiro held onto the snake’s head for dear life as the electricity consumed its upper half. Even with the snake dead, Kiro ruthlessly continued the flow of electricity as he tried to lift the head upwards before they crashed into the ground to try and create a decent landing.

The landing was anything but decent. The last thing Kiro remembered hearing before going unconscious was the audible cracking of the snake’s head.

"Let's do it Fukasura!"

"Right!"

Out of the cloud, before the onrush of attacks could strike, a large figure zoomed out of the smoke and revealed itself to be a giant light yellow toad with a purple traditional Japanese kimono with green star design decorations on it and a giant umbrella appeared as said umbrella folded out which caused the frog to float in the air with Minato resting on her head. The umbrella seemed to offer a shield from the boiling water rain, though in spite of that Fukasura had a troubled look on her face.

"Oh dear, I'm not sure about this Minato. I'm not the best for combat and these guys look scary. Specially that fiendish fellow. Didn't he used to be friends with your sensei?" Fukasura asked as Minato kept a determined look as he faced Orochimaru and the Edo-Tensei before he addressed his summon.

"Don't discredit yourself. You are vital for the battle at hand, and I trust you." Minato replied as Fukasura sighed before she used her strong legs and kicked the air to propel herself around the invading forces. Minato, who already placed a seal on Fukasura's back, tossed multiple kunai with seals at the side of Hashirama's wooden dragon. Once that had been done, Minato flashed over towards the wooden dragon as he picked a kunai up and charged Hashirama. Minato made several hand signs as his fingers began to shine as he aimed to place a special seal on the Edo-Tensei Kage.

One at a time. I have to take this one at a time if I am to have any chance.

Shisui & the other ANBU knew when to peruse and when to flee, and this had been the latter as they jumped up away from the lava as it covered Kabuto's escape while the other Oto-nin had been left to their fate as they joined with the other ANBU on the hawk that Mei was on as they lowered to inspect the damage. Though Mei's attention shifted to the bone tomb between the two buildings she & Minato had been fighting on.

Within the bone tomb, Ay took note of the walls or the sounds of movement as they began to close in. Bone bullets clashed against his body, though the armor of his LCM softened the blow though Ay grit his teeth in any event.

The darkness limited his vision, but Ay already knew where the brat had been as he charged forward at high speeds within the confined space. Bits of spikes scrapped against his body as he just avoided even as his body was scrapped. Any injury he may sustain had not mattered to the Kumo-nin, as all he desired was to show this upstart the "consequence" of getting in his path of vengeance. Ay did keep a point to have an ear out for the bone drills and sought to avoid them as he continued his high speed charge.

Ay soon discovered a structure that the Oto-nin seemed to have made to separate himself from the advancing Kage. Something Ay had been determined to change as he reared his electric fists back and began to punch and break apart the bone before him with strong-electric powered strikes. The tomb continued to close in and with each blow breaking through the bone he'd likely not have the strength for a full powered punch when he got to the Oto-nin but that did not matter.

"AHHHH!"

Ay roared as he punches through the obstacle before him as it crumbled and revealed Kimimaro before him. He then aimed a punch right for Kimimaro now that he appeared vulnerable. It may not have packed the power it normally did, given what he'd have to exhaust to get to him, but it was not gonna tickle either.

------------
Kenji took note of Furijia's expression which seemed to mask her concern & worry though Kenji had been fair enough at reading people to pick up on it as he let out a sigh. Kenji knew he had to take charge now given Furijia seemed nervous and deferred to him while Taiyo had also seemed to ask him about what to do to make a fire as he knew he had to do something.

Kenji let out a sigh as he pulled out his copy of Icha-Icha Paradise, though hid the cover from Taiyo and Furijia's view as with great reluctance he tore a page of it out and handed it to Taiyo.

Here, you could use this." Kenji offered as they needed a fire to help them all see so they wouldn't be too reliant on Furijia in the pitch darkness of this make-shift tunnel.

----------
Madoka overheard Tsuki's question as she dug through her supply bag and pulled out an emergency flare and blessed her forward thinking for it as she lit it up and allowed for some illumination within the darkness.

"This should help us for now." Madoka explained as she motioned for Tsuki to remain close while moving forward through the tunnel as she aimed to find some way to escape & find Yasu once more.

-----------
Onoki remained silent Sakura & Ino continued to treat the wounded, thankfully this massive cave in seemed to have scared off whatever Oto-nin were there. They began to help the ones Sakura treated up as Kurotsuchi took note of this and had to admit she was surprised by the pink-haired girl's work.

For a genin she is showing some exceptional medical ninjutsu for her experience level.

Tomiko got frustrated at the silence her Kage offered her, and decided she had heard enough as she turned to the abyss below and focused her chakra on her feet as she began to move forward with her intent clear.

"I know you don't approve of this, but my friends are down there. Innocent people are down there and I won't leave them to die." Tomiko urged as Sakura saw this and motioned for Ino to give some herbs to the remaining injured as she walked over to the Iwa-nin and placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Hold it, you've got your arms in casts. You are clearly still recovering from a previous injury, you'll only cause more pain. It's too dangerous." Sakura advised as Tomiko glanced back at the kunoichi with a scowl.

"So, who needs hands? I've got two perfectly working legs I can use. Besides if I was gonna let danger stop me I wouldn't be a ninja right now They need help and I won't leave them. If I have the chance to to something to help I won't turn a blind eye." Tomiko replied as she again moved forward but Sakura kept her grip. As Tomiko turned to speak her protest Sakura cut her off with a gesture as she let out a sigh before she spoke up.

"You seem stubborn, though you have one point. And since it seems I won't be able to stop you; I ask you at least wait. We're caring for the injured here, once that is done we'll go with you. Our friend Kenji is down there to and if we stick together we'll better our chances to find them." Sakura suggested as she glanced over to Ino in reference to we. While Tomiko desired to go as soon as possible, she had to concede that their help was a need and gave a nod to the kunoichi. Sakura moved back to heal the remaining injured while Ino & even Tomiko to the best of her ability helped escorted those injured to safety. Onoki watched this and overheard the conversation as he let out a sigh.

"Idealistic fool." Onoki said to himself, something Kurotsuchi had overheard. And as she watched she simply had a small smirk on her face.

"Perhaps, but a strong heart & desire to protect is the qualities a Kage needs, no?" Kurotsuchi countered as Onoki said nothing, too tired and his back too sore to argue more.

As much as Hashirma desired to be hit so that his role against Kohona would be releived, he could not force his arms to go at his sides. He made a single handsign, the tail of the dragon curling over him, creating bark around his position.

“Lord 4th, I don’t desire to fight you. You have to get past my defenses!”

Following his words, several dozen branches emerged, trying to coil Minato. Meanwhile, Kushina targeted Fukasura, the adamatine chains that went into the cloud had quickly caught up to the toad. The dozen chains coiled around her and tried to constrict her movements.

Kin and Yukimaru looked at each other, the crazed one of them cackling as they got onto either side of the rashomon overlooking the toad.

“Let’s cook this froggy!”

“Don’t over do it....”

They manipulated the water up in the sky, condensing it around the toad’s position. They then let loose a waterfall of boiling water straight down on the supposed constructed summon’s position. The second hokage’s eyes looked over to minato, seeing the wooden tendrils approach him. He pitched in, using water tendrils instead to coil around the yellow Flash from behind.

.........

“Gah!!!”

Kimimaro was struck, shattering him from his bone barrier. His skin tight bone armor cracked and broke, the dampened momentum of the Kage was still enough to cause that damage to him! He landed roughly near the ground of a snake, who seemed to be falling down into the underground. Kimimaro seemed unconscious.

However, even though kimimaro was unconscious and defeated, his jutsu was still in play. The bone tomb Ay had yet to escape from closed in, being only eight feet long, tall, and wide. A sphere. It was so tight, all the spikes pressing in onto one small area. The bones compressed harder than steel, the force that was being applied was tremendous, enough to break trees into pieces!

Kimimaro feel, the light of day slipping away. His eyes grew weary as the sound of battling vanished.

“Orochimaru....”

“.....I’m sorry......”

Taiyo eagerly grabbed the page, careful not to tear it. Then he let nature take it's course, lighting up the page as a makeshift torch.
"This should help us for now," Taiyo told his friends before turning to Furijia to address her, "We might need you to make a fire if you can," He began walking ahead, silently signaling for Kenji and Furijia to follow. Tsuki nodded firnly and kept close to Madoka, knowing that she'd need to show aggression now that she was mostly by herself, despite dying a little inside every time she fought.

At the entrance gate of the leaf village, a young man ran up and looked around. “I heard the village was being attacked and rushed back as quick as I could, I never imagined it would be this bad.” He thought to himself before a masked sound ninja with a blade in hand jumped out beside him. “Heh, another prey shows itself!” He shouted before dashing towards him. Before the sound ninja could react, the boy jumped up leaving a chain in the shape of a ring where he was, the ring then caught the hands of the sound ninja as the boy landed. He would then pull the chain and drag the sound ninja towards him and elbow him in the chest and let him fall in front of him. “Who are you people and why are you attacking Konoha?” He asked menacingly.

“Boss?? Boss! Where are you!”

Kou weaved through the crowd of people that had been put to sleep by the genjustu. He didn’t know why all of these people were asleep. All he knew was that he was walking out with fifteen new gold watches. Suddenly, a loud boom at resonated throughout the stands. He looked up, watching lava pour down from the ceiling, the mizukage seemed to be attacking! Why??

Kou panicked, he backed up before turning into a run into the opposite direction. He made a rush for the stairs, not looking where he was going.

“Phew, that was a close o—AAAAHHHHHH!!!!!”

Kou was rushing down the stairs, until he realized that there WERE no stairs. The entire side of the stadium seemed to have crumbled. He was falling down, debris of the coliseum scattered throughout. It got darker and darker as he descended further underground. He was for sure to die until he hit water. He gasped for air, resurfacing. The gold watches he had stolen weren’t helping him any stabilize himself, rigging him down. He struggled, not knowing if anyone was even close by.

.......

Dosu walked through the cavern, navigating solely by sound. He approached what seemed to be a bubbling sound. There was light coming through this zone, as it washed against his face. He opened his eyes, spotting a large dam before him.

“A back up water supply, in case the main supply failed. Clever, leaf. But it time to get rid of it.” Dosu spoke, reassured.

He put his hand on the dam, a sound resonating across the dam wall. It cracked and buckled, before giving way. Waves of water rushed down into the cavern where the ninja were. Dosu jumped out of the way of the now broken dam, clinging to a wall, watching the water flow down into the cavern below.

“This may just drown the brats as well. If Zaku has any common sense, he’d hear it coming and prepare.”

"I'm well aware." Minato replied, as he had not been one to hold this against the Edo-Kage as he performed a backflip, to avoid the wooden bindings & place a seal on the wooden dragon before he vanished back to the seal on Fukasura as the frog's eyes widened as she had already kicked to the side to push herself & the umbrella to the side to avoid Kushina's chasing chains before they had a chance to secure a coils around her. Both Minato and Fukasura heard the sounds of water as a boiling waterfall prepared to consume them.

"Eep!"

Fukasura managed to avoid the waterfall of boiling water as she used a powerful kick to push herself and Minato away from the fall though some of it just managed to hit one bit of her umbrella that caused it to melt. A close call to have said the least...

Though their troubles were far from finished, as Kushina's chains kept after them. Minato saw this, and glanced back at the waterfall that fell at the spot they just avoided and formed an idea.

"Fukasura. Get us close to that waterfall while it remains!" Minato instructed.

"Are you crazy!" Fukasura yelled back, though with the chains that approached she had little options but to trust Minato's word as she kicked to the side as she moved towards the boiling waterfall with the chains as they perused her. Minato forming an idea of his own all the while...

-----------
On one hand, Ay succeeded in delivering a strike to that upstart that got between him and his revenge.

On the other hand, Ay's exist seemed to vanish as the tomb closed in on him and seemed to form a death sphere as the spikes struck against his armor. Said armor had done its best to work against spikes to prevent damage, but the continued pressure combined with its sharpness meant it only could do so much as they began to move through the armor and poke against his skin. Blood began to trickle down as Ay grit his teeth as he had realized if he did not do something now he'd not only be denied his chance to get revenge against that snake but would end up falling here and now.

Curse that brat...if he thinks he can kill me with this he is surely mistaken! I won't allow this to be where my story ends!

Ay yelled out as he began to channel more electricity from his body as he fought against the pressure of the spikes. Though what Ay tried to do or whether what he tried to do could have saved him would remain a mystery as the bone tomb began to melt. Mei and the ANBU under Shisui's command arrived and Mei had been quick to fire a lava plume at the tomb in an effort to give Ay an escape route. One which he took as he slipped out of the tomb as blood dripped from the areas the spikes managed to pierce into, as Ay took a moment to pant while he lowered his LCM before he turned to Mei with an annoyed look.

"I didn't need your help." Ay said as Ay turned his attention to the barrier in the distant building and began to make his way towards it. Mei let out a sigh as she followed the Raikage.

"You're welcome."

Shisui glanced at Kimimaro's prone body as it lied on the giant serpent below as he made a motion for the two ANBU before he followed Mei & Ay as the ANBU jumped down with the intent to apprehend Kimimaro while he had been vulnerable.

Kenji had to look away and suppress the tears as one of those glorious pages had been set ablaze. Though Kenji composed himself as he placed the book back in his pouch before he gave a nod to Taiyo as he began to follow him. Though soon the sounds of something caught his attention. The sound of something that seemed to begin moving through the tunnels. Almost like the sound of running water...

"Hey guys, I think something is coming. And that something is not good. We should pick the pace up." Kenji suggested as he had a grim feeling in his chest.

----------
A feeling that had been shared by Madoka would continue to lead Tsuki down the first tunnel, using the light for the flare as a guide as she kept her eyes peeled for anything or anyone that they might encounter. Madoka glanced behind her when she heard the sounds of something that approached from the distance. Something that had not yet been in view, but Madoka didn't nor desired to wait for it to arrive before she would act as she faced Tsuki.

"Can you scale the walls? Either way we need to move. I hear water coming and from the sound of it...it's a lot." Madoka said as she urged Tsuki to pick up her pace while she asked the girl if she could travel the walls in the event it may or rather likely was needed.

----------
"All right, easy there. Just get with the others to safety."

Sakura, along with Ino & Tomiko, finished their care on the last of the injured within the medical area as they got them out the emergency back exit towards the emergency shelter. After that the trio made their way towards the collapsed floor.

"All right, now then let's make sure to stay close to each other. And we need a way to lead those back to this exit so we don't end up getting lose in the tunnels ourselves." Sakura explained as both Ino & Tomiko gave a nod to this.

"We could carve up the sides of the caves with signals, so we can make our own map back here." Tomiko suggested which seemed sound enough before the girls head something below them. The sound of running water, almost like a river from the Forest of Death which caused Ino's eyes to widen.

"That can't be good." Ino said as Sakura cursed before she faced Tomiko.

"Can you walk walls still?" Sakura asked as Tomiko understood what her aim was and gave a nod.

"Y-yeah! Just can't do jutsu, but I can still focus chakra to my feet." Tomiko assured them as Sakura took that into consideration before she faced the tunnel as she pulled a kunai.

"All right, travel the walls and let's go get them. Mark up the wall with kunai Ino as we go. Let's do this!" Sakura said before the trio went down to the tunnel and run along the wall as Ino & Sakura marked up directional signals with their kunai while Tomiko kept pace as the trio began their search for those trapped within the tunnels.

Orochimaru watched as the toad seemed to go right for the waterfall that his pupils had created. Cradling baby naruto with one hand, he Cocked his head to the side. So the yellow flash got away from that because of those pesky seals? Better have those dealt with. He snapped his fingers, the hokage taking action.

Tobirama controlled tendrils of water that came from his floating bubble. Floating on top of it, he commanded his tendrils, which’s smashed at the majority of the found seals on the wooden dragon. The wood broke off, flying down to the distintigratibg floor below, vaporizing instantly. Only one remained, however unoticed on the back of the wood dragon. Hashirama then flew his wood dragon directly toward the Mary poppins esk frog. The wood dragon bared it’s claws and reared it’s head back as Hashirama made a few handsigns.

“Wood Dragon: Seedling Fern!”

The dragon shot out a large spiked orb from its mouth. It was like a giant brown urchin, hurtling to itercept the frog. While the spiked ball was in front of them, the chains lurched to catch up from behind and the sides, narrowing his field of escape. Kin and Yukimaru started weave the same handsigns together for a long, unknown justu. An omninous chakra flowing between the both of them, their eyes closing.

........

Kou spat water out of his mouth as he struggled to stay afloat in the water. The underground lake flooding into the chasm below, taking him with it. It rushed to many ninja’s positions. Dosu nodding as the plan seemed to be getting back on schedule.

...........

At Madoka and Tsuki’s position, water seemed to come the earliest. They were closer to the dam than any other group. Water roared toward them, the pace of it seemed like death was written all over it. As it chased them down faster than any of them could run, opening its jaws of water, the unthinkable happen. It froze. The wave of water seemed to crystallize, the path back obstructed by the now frozen wave. Inside the wave, there seemed to be a figure emerging from the ice, a masked ninja from a rather shrouded village.

“Step aside Xeno, I’ve come to collect Tsuki of pure blood.”

Taiyo nodded to Kenji as he walked slightly faster, he too could feel the rumbling, and all of his red flags shot up too. He pressed hos head against the wall to try and guess the source of the rumbling.
"It sounds like...water, oh no," The Leaf-nin's eyes widened, this was bad.
"Kenji, can you scale the walls or something?" The genin was nervous, he didn't want to die yet.
Tsuki was about to comply when Kai came and said he had come to claim her. This caused the Yuki-nin to think about her options before she decided to leave or stay.
On one hand, I can finally leave this god forsaken tunnel, on the other hand though, I'd be leaving behind my friends, like Raiku, Madoka, Tomiko, and...Taiyo, She weighed the outcomes, and tilted her head downwards, as if she was unhappy with her decision.
"Sorry Madoka, I hope to see you soon," Tsuki told her friend sadly before going to Kai and staring him dead in the eye.
"Alright, take me back, you've claimed me,"

Raiku's sword got blasted out of his hand by the jutsu which punched a hole through it as well. This caused Raiku to get mad for a moment, but that anger quickly turned into worry as he heard water coming nearby at a rapid rate. He quickly took off and grabbed his newly damaged sword before running up the walls. Surely enough water began flooding the area and Raiku began charging in the direction it came from in order to escape the trapped place.

Although I would've loved to kill that dastard murderer it's smarter to escape with my life. This may have been my only opportunity to escape anyways.

Kanshi had followed Kai to Tsuki and let out a small grunt at her response.

"Good. Let us return to our clan members."

I only know realized how truly important it was for us to rescue her as soon as possible. To think a Yuki clan member was talking to a Suna-nin! Hopefully during the time she wasn't with us Kiri-nin she didn't grow even more pacifistic...

Kai watched as Tsuki took to his side of the cave. He nodded agreeing with Kanshi’s statement. He then retreated back into the ice wave, no doubt his two fellow ninja in tow. The ice wave then unfroze, like it had resumed gushing toward the now alone Madoka. Kai was however creating a bubble around the three of them as they walked, not interfering with the events unfolding.

“Just what were you doing down here? Associating yourself with these Xenos nearly got you killed, I had to bail you out. Stick to the affairs of the mist and you’ll find it a path of open possibilities.” He pointed to his cousin. “Just look at Kanshi. He went through a tough time, but now that he’s been stationed as my bodyguard he’s learned more about his place in the mist. Is has a purpose. You are in desperate need of one. You cannot reject your heritage. Or you reject your blood.”

..........

Zaku watched as the air bulletin pierced the sword, but was unaware if it had kept going, but it seemed incredibly likely. He couldn’t see the damage when Raiku jumped away. His ears poked up, hearing the sound of gushing water.

“Dosu...what did you do?”

He was prepared to run, using his wind tunnels behind him as a quick and speedy escape. But he heard the yelling of a young boy. Someone very familiar. What? It couldn’t be... he looked at the water, Kou’s golden watches he had stolen reflecting with whatever light was Inside. He clenched his fists. He couldn’t just turn his back, like he would do if it were anyone else. He stayed in places, prepared for the water to rush at him, before he dove right in to the wave. Using the air jets, he fought against the strong current, unederwater, before his hand clasped the leg of Kou, before letting his implants stop, as they swept off with the current.

The sound ninja growled. “Who are we? What about you.” The boy glared at the sound ninja with his white eyes. “I am Shura Hyuga of the leaf village, and I’m asking the question here.” He said. “Who do you think you are? Don’t underestimate the sound ninjas!” The grunt shouted as a few shurikens cam eflying towards Shura who jumped back to dodge. Two more masked ninjas showed up. “So, the sound village huh.” Shura thought to himself as the 3 enemies charged at him. Shura would jump back and pull out his chain scythe. “You think you can take us on?” One of the sound ninja shouted before barely noticing the weight end of Shura’s chain scythe graze his face. Shura then whipped the chain anencephaly made the weight curve back and knocke the ninja down by hitting him on the head. The other 2 then went on bothe side of Shura and dashed at him. Shura threw the weight of his chain at one of then which wrapped around his hands and blocked the other one with the scythe. He would then kick the ninja he blocked in the chest and would then quickly wrap the chain around his arm and jumped towards the middle of the chain. Shura then pulled on bothe side which resulted in the two ninja getting pulled into the air and towards him and hit each other’s head with theirs and passed out. The third sound ninja then got up and growled at Shura. “You’ll pay for that!” He shouted before dashing at Shura. Shura would then block the strike with his scythe and proceed to wrap his chain around his arms, he then whipped the sound ninja’s arms above him the proceeded to attacke the enemy with a barrage of hits all around his body. After the attack, Shura grabbed his chain and proceeded to walk toward the village, away from the sound ninja who readied his sword. “Hey! We’re not done here!” He shouted. Shura ignored him. “You are already down.” He said calmly before the soun ninja suddenly felt a surge of pain all aroun his body. “What?!” He shouted before collapsing.

Tsuki tried to restrain herself, she couldn't just let Kai talk down her friends like that.
"What I was doing is none of YOUR business. But I will tell you that I saved the life of a Xeno, all of the one's I met have been nothing but good people. I can't reject my blood, but I can give my blood, and I can help those outside of my blood. I doubt I'll find any sort of purpose in the divided house of a village we have, but I won't stop you. But know this, as far as I'm concerned, your just as bad as any other Xeno," Tsuki sneered at Kai, before she realized what had came out of her mouth. Afterwards, her mind flooded with regret and at the same time, pride. Before she never had the courage to stand up to others who shared Kai's Xenophobic beliefs, but now, something changed.

Kai stopped in his tracks. After Tsuki’s words had penetrated his ears. He turned with a vengeance, the Bubble fit for three became fit for two. The water all around them flooded in to Tsuki’s side, Kai’s bendable material everywhere within the cavern. Upon it flooding to Tsuki’s side, crystallizing into the form of an ice Prison, which formed entirely around her. He could have frozen it over her limbs to keep her restrained, but that was a treatment for a savage Xeno. He stepped closer to her, knowing the elements couldn’t be any more in his favor.

“Listen here, degenerate. This wasn’t my choice. I was told so by our clan leader: my father to reclaim you. Your talking to the direct heir to the Yuki clan. I won’t tolerate your behavior. You’ve been around the Xenos too long that your starting to act like them. Filth. Trash. You’ll will answer for this. You could have been gratefully I saved your pure blood ass, but you had to make things difficult. Kanshi. Maintain the ice prison as well.”

Kai continued walking, the ice prison scrapping along the floor as it followed it’s bender.

The ice prison had now reflected how Tsuki felt at the moment, trapped. Now, she saw how terrible Kai's beliefs were, she wanted nothing more than to break free, from both her physical and metaphorical prisons. She wanted to shout back, to fight, to break free and run back to her friends, but the Yuki-nin had realized her weakness, Tsuki never trained a day in her life, so she had no choice but to stay trapped.
I'm sorry...

Kanshi became infuriated to how Tsuki talked to Kai, and if she wasn't a mist ninja he would've killed her on the spot. He was nodding at the end of every sentence in Kai's speech. And summoned a clone to maintain the prison as long as it didn't run out of chakra.

"If I were you I'd discard how you feel towards them or at least focus more on the people of your village. Otherwise... you might soon appear... traitorous..."

Kanshi had a thing for traitors. They were viewed to be worse than people that killed members of his village, and those people were viewed worse than Suna-nin.

Then he turned around and whispered in Kai's ear.

"I myself am fine with this for now... but won't your father become angered?"

When Kenji had mentioned that he heard something coming, Furījia, like any sensible person with telescopic x-ray vision, decided to check it out from afar where it'd be of no harm to herself. Or- at least she thought it wouldn't be able to harm her. However, a quick glance quickly proved her wrong, almost shattering her confidence. Her shoulders slumped loosely and she grabbed onto Kenji's shirt, clenching tightly around the fabric. She muttered in buzzing, almost inaudible voice slick with terror,

"It's that sound ninja...the one that broke the floor. He's coming...and he brought a flood with him."

"Fantastic, just fantastic, now what, do we all just die?" Taiyo threw his hands up in frustration, keeping the torch in hand of course. This was not how he wanted to go, if he was going to die, he was going to die in an epic battle to the finish where he and his opponent were evenly matched, but he was outplayed.
"NOT LIKE THIS!" The Leaf-nin's eyes flared with determination before turning to Furijia, "I DON'T CARE ABOUT ANY FLOOD, I DON'T NEED MY NINJUTSU TO WIN!" Meanwhile, Tsuki had now began to contemplate what Kanshi said, did she want to leave the Yuki clan, yes, but like Kai said before, she couldn't reject her blood, nor could she change it.
"Well Kanshi, you won't have to worry about betrayal from me," The Yuki-nin turned to Kanshi, lacking the softness her icy blue eyes usually had. "While I don't agree with your beliefs, I do agree that you are my family, and if I betrayed me, than I would basically be commiting suicide,"

Shura ran across the damaged leaf village while looking around. “The damage to the village seems minimal at least.” He thought to himself before looking around to try and find Chakra signatures. He felt a few coming from the Kage tower and many coming from the Chunnin exam stage. “It seems lord fourth is at the Kage tower so there’s no need for me to head there, which leaves one place left.” He thought to himself before running towards the destroyed Chunnin exam stage.

“He’d Be furious at how she’s rejecting our village. He’s quite furious about our village’s leader as well. Can’t say I blame him. The man surely is a idol.”

Kai said to Kanshi, walking along the tunnel. The water was still gushing, which was surprising. Only a foolish ninja would bother fighting a Yuki covered in water. Kai addressed Tsuki, moving the ice prison next to him.

“Your tounge is that of a traitor. You disrespect you brothers and sisters at arms. My father will not be pleased at your insubordination. Tell me, did the Xenos brainwash you or torment you in anyway to make you like...this?”

"If so much as speaking up a different opinion warrants death from your clan, then those family loyalties should be brought into question."

From the perspective of the Kiri-nin, it appeared a black raven the size of an adult male appeared to be swimming through the water within an air sphere generated around it. When Kai & Kanshi had taken Tsuki Madoka used the brief period the water remained frozen to reattach her puppet's joints together before she generated an air sphere and climbed inside said puppet as the sphere continually pushed the water away from Raven and created a pocket of air that Madoka used to travel along the tunnel as she followed and listened to the pair. Certain words were hard to make out due to the continued flow of the water but thankfully the shouting of the Kiri-nin made their overall point clear to the Suna-nin and she felt she had to step in to say something.

"I feel there's already been enough conflict today. Let's try not to add more to it. Perhaps she feels the same way, and it is not so much being brainwashed as you two want to believe it is." Madoka replied to the pair, in spite of the situation of confronting a pair of radical Genin she appeared not the least bit intimidated as she spoke through her puppet with a loud enough tone as she now moved beside them along the flooded tunnel. Her air sphere next to the water bubble.

"Rest easy, I haven't been brainwashed. But I will tell you how I met Xenos, there was one bleeding out, and I couldn't let him die, so I donated some of my blood, so say what you like about me now," Tsuki's voice had an uncharacteristic edge to it, as if she no longer cared of what Kai thought of her, or Kanshi, or even Kai's father, she just wished to know Mei's thoughts on the matter. If she couldn't reject her blood, then she could change her blood, no, she WOULD change her blood, from the inside out.

Kai seemed visually appalled at Tsuki’s words, even from beyond his mask. He shuttered, looking over to her with cringe lines in his sides.

“Donated...blood?!” Kai hissed. “Our pure blood?! It’s one of many things that seperate is from that of the savages. Who knows what they could do if they have a sample of our blood. Only a fool would give their blood away so easily. Anything can be weaponized, even blood. Perhaps this is why you haven’t become a ninja.”

Kai looked over to madoka’s puppet casing over her body. While marveling at the animal’s ingenuity, was annoyed by her words.

“No mist ninja deserves to be put to death. How low of you to think that of me and my clan. We are keeping her in this prison because of her outright disrespect of her own lineage.” Kai said, defending his family name. “A Xeno like yourself shouldn’t meddle in foreign affairs or missions. This is my mission, you’d do best to stop your fellow Xeno’s village from crumbling instead.”

Furījia shrunk back, why was he yelling at her? What had she done wrong? The intimidated Hyūga retreated further into her shell, slipping completely behind Kenji while tears welled in her eyes. She didn't like this, she didn't like being around these people. She wanted to just close her eyes, and wake up from whatever nightmare she was currently in. She needed to find Sagisō, she needed to get away from these scary people...and so she ran. She let go of Kenji's garment and simply ran, as hard and as fast as she could. She didn't know where she was going, but anywhere was better than here. Fine streams of water poured from her eyes as she vented in her own way. She cried, and ran, never looking back.

"Uh Minato I hope you have a plan, cause there's death coming for us in every direction!"

"Not every direction. Keep calm and continued forward."

"O-okay, I'll trust you."

Minato rode on Fukasura as she had kept kicking forward and used her umbrella to fly as they seemed destined to crash into the wooden spike ball as they kept distant with the chains that closed in on them from behind as they seemed cut off ahead, to the sides of them and behind them. Though just before the ball made contact.

"Fukasura jump!"

Fukasura had not needed to be told twice, as she used her legs to deliver one of her most powerful kicks as she zoomed through the air as the spiked ball just barley missed contact with the bottom of her webbed feet as it now was set to crash into Kushina's chains behind where Minato & Fukasura had been. Fukasura flew as high into the air as she could given the ceiling generated by the barrier. Minato had been far from done as he made several hand signs as he prepared what appeared to be another seal as the Uzumaki symbol appeared on his right palm.

And in an instant, he appeared on the dragon once more. Using the seal that he placed on the wooden beat itself before he retreated back to Fukasura, as Minato charged quickly and aimed to place the palm with the Uzumaki symbol against Hashirama while he hopefully would be unsuspecting and had his back turned to him.

"Sealing Spiral: Heart of Uzumaki!"

----------
Tomiko, Sakura & Ino ran along the walls of the tunnel as they saw that indeed they had been correct; water had began to flood through them as they kept their eyes peeled for anyone who might have been in need of help.

And indeed, they soon discovered just that situation. As they saw a pair of bodies just up ahead of them. With a quickened pace, they dashed along the wall above the flooded floor and looked over to see who they were.

It had been that Sound Genin, Zaku, one of the ones responsible for this entire mess to begin with. Along with that young kid who seemed to have grown fond of him. What was he even doing here?

Though that mattered little. Not one of the girls had any love lost for Zaku, and in truth it probably was better he be left to his fate. Though the kid was innocent, but how they could get to him would be the tricky part. Sakura considered using a Genjutsu to stun Zaku to allow one of them to try and grab the kid, Ino considered using a flash bomb to blind Zaku a bit.

Rip!

Tomiko, had her own idea. She used her kunai that she pulled from her pouch with her teeth to slice apart her bandaged-wrapped casts as they came lose. Her arms were still damaged, but they worked well enough for Tomiko to be able to lasso a bandage in the air as she faced Zaku.

"Grab this! We'll pull you two in!" Tomiko yelled at Zaku, much to Sakura & Ino's amazement as Tomiko tossed her bandage at Zaku in the hopes the Oto-nin would catch it so they could pull him away from the flowing current.

----------
"Taiyo! Calm down, now is not the time to panic and certainly not the time to yell at each other" Kenji replied before he saw Furījia just run off on her own as he silently cursed to himself.

"Just follow us, and if you see water let us know and we'll hop on the wall to run there!" Kenji instructed to Taiyo before he ran after Furijia. Kenji made a promise to Sagiso he'd protect her, and he was not about to let something as stupid as this verbal spat shatter that promise so easily.

"H-hey! Look I know this is scary but I promise you we'll get through this. You are gonna make it out of here and see your sister again, you have my word on that! You just need to calm down and we need to stick together!" Kenji called out as he closed the distance between himself the the frightened Furijia.

-----------
"While Konoha & Suna are allies, this is not my village to a degree. And I'm just trying to find my friends to get out of this hell hole. I just don't think this method is necessary. If you consider it "disrespect" for speaking about "Xenos" beyond just killing them then you only aim to alienate yourselves. Even among others in your village." Madoka said from within Raven before she glanced over to Kanshi and then glanced back over to Kai.

"I was not aware you were a ventriloquist. After all it does appear that your words come out of his mouth." Madoka replied further with her usual cool tone.

Kanshi became so frustrated with Tsuki he had to sigh or else he would've tried to kill her.

"Listen here, that is truly foolish, and remember that your actions will not be allowed without punishment. I highly doubt our head will allow you to talk with... foreigners for quite some time after wasting your own Mist blood! You should be getting the blood OUT of them, not into them!"

Then he turned to face the puppet thought he mostly ignored it.

"Like Kai said don't interfere with our affairs..."

Raiku had been trying to run of the tunnels for quite a while before stumbling upon a girl running away. Then he saw Kenji running after her near Taiyo. He jumped down to Taiyo before sighing.

"What did you do this time..."

Yasu had still be confused and worried for his friends when he heard the noise. At first it was a subtle trickle and occasional splash, but soon it began to roar. The water flooded the area he was in much faster than he thought it would. He was barely able to move himself to the safety high up on the wall of the tunnels.

"The hell!"

He hadn't been aware of the water mere seconds ago, and now the tunnel was flooded! Just where was this water coming from? And where were the others! Had Tomiko and Madoka gotten caught in the newly formed underground river? He didn't particularly care if any of the others died, especially not Zaku or Kiro, but if his friends were hurt he would have a bone to pick with whoever did this.

"Keeps getting better, huh?" Yasu sighed again.

The black haired genin pumped his legs, he would need to move fast if he wanted to find his friends and get out of this stupid hole in the ground.

“Dont mistake his valor for mimicry.” Kai defended Kanshi. “We mist ninja all have reasons to honor our homeland, in more ways than one. We are proud and we are Pure. We don’t wish ill on any village. All villages are equally as Xeno-like as the rest. Yours is no different. But know that anyone village that interfiers with our affairs or take up arms against us will be persued. Actions of your village would mean putting your entire nation to death. Genocide. The weak, the strong, the warriors, civilians. Your village would speak for all of them. Careful where you tread. We note everything. And Justice is swift.”

Kai tone seemed as if he were talking about slaughtering cows for a meal when he spoke of genocide. As if they weren’t people at all. Animals. The Yuki after saying these words has crystallized the cavern near the puppet master, creating a large wall separating the mist ninja from the Suna. They were still in his element. A fatal choice if anyone were to jump him.

“Come, Kanshi. We are almost out. That’s another C rank mission for both of us.”

...........

Hashirama was struck, the Uzumaki mark of sealing written on the impact site. His body became limp, the wood dragon stopping in it’s tracks as well. The wood dragon began to plummet to the purple floor beneath them, Hashiama with it. He looked to Minato.

“Don’t let this MONSTER desecrate your family and get away with it. He’s scarring their memories for every second he has a hold of them. Make sure their last page isn’t the worst.”

Hashirma began to fade, white ribbons dissipating from him, revealing a figure underneath. It was none other than a ninja, with a blindfold over their face with the words “FU” written in bold upon it. The wood dragon skidded across the disintegrating floor, burning up in the process. In a few seconds it would be entirely gone.

The seedling fern justu has sent the spiraling ball toward edo tensei Kushina, who’s eyes widened as she was impailed by the ball, smashing into the barrier. As the explosion took place, smoke rising, Kushina’s body seemed to piece back together bit by bit, as if she didn’t take any damage at all. She landed back on the rashomon, making a few handisgns, the chains on her back lunging down toward Mianto, trying to skewer him before he could teleport away.

Orochiamru looked at he frog in the sky and laughed, his neck extending freakishly. His head, which had now flew several dozen feet with his long neck, peered at the frog. His mouth widened, and suddenly, a long metal sword shot from his mouth. It extended so far, that it could easily reach one end of the battlefield to the other! It was blindingly fast, and since the target was airborne, it was vulnerable.

Tobirama finally noticed the seal that was put on the Rashomon. Piecing together how minato has tleported there in the first place. He shot some water tendrils toward the mark, destroying the spikes that it was attached to, scraping it off.

Kin and Yukimaru has finished their long handsigns, opinions chakra shot out from both of them. Kin cackled while Yukimaru groaned. Chakra cloaks wrapped around both of them. The aura of the six tails, and the aura of the three tails. The hounds of war glared at Minato, looking like they’d strike at any second.

..........

Zaku was surprised at the sudden kindness given by Tomiko. While he was skeptical of it was genuine, he had little other options. He grasped the ribbions that used to be a cast, and struggled to keep Kou above the water as the main priority. He wished he had trained more in muscles than he did justu, as he wasn’t a strong swimmer. Especially since metal was inside his body, naturally he’d sink like a stone. This was his only life line

"ME?! I had nothing to do with this, I'm just as confused as you are," Taiyo explained to Raiku, annoyed that all of this was happening at once. He turned to Kenji and Furijia, his eyes now softening with guilt. He never ment to make the young Hyuga cry and so, he ran after them, motioning Raiku to follow. Meanwhile Tsuki felt anger boiling inside of her, Kai talked to her as if she was his property, now she wanted nothing more than to rid the world of his ideas, of course, the degenerates that Kai had recruited such as Kanshi would follow soon. She kept her mouth shut and continued to plan the downfall of the Xenophobes.

Where Kiro lie unconscious, the sounds of clanking and banging of steel was heard somehow deeper from the earth than they already where. It rumbled the zone, suddenly, a wall burst, light flooding in. It was surely an exit, one that seemed to be outside the walls of the leaf. Standing right between the cave and the outside was a bulky ninja. Metal shined with the shimmer of the sun.

The figure had dozens of clanging headbands on his neck, many of them with dry blood on it. Some headbands seemed fresh. There seemed to be many attachemnets to the bulky red armor of the ninja. Several drills, openings, tunes, saws, and other devices were seen coming from the sides of the intimidating ninja. Some scar marks of battle were tattered in his armor, four large slashes in the middle signifying ‘Rain’. A gas mask was over his mouth, which snakes into his armor.

“Tremble before me, cowards! Hiding underground cannot save your from Reaver!”

Shura arrived to the destroyed stadium and jumped down the hole leading to the underground and continued running. "I never knew there was this big of an opening down here." He thought to himself before he sensed chakra signatures coming from in front of him and dashed against a wall. He peaked out and saw Reaver. "That guys looks like bad news."

Madoka listened to Kai's warning as she kept pace within Raven next to them and she was a bit disturbed even if her expression had not shown it. To think this guy would perceive any lone actions of a "xeno" as justification for slaughtering an entire village; including civilians and untrained children disgusted even her. To speak of human life as if these were just lamb being led to the slaughter was such a cruel disconnect. To a degree Madoka understood that death and bringing it to others was a necessity within the ninja world but Kai & Kanshi's attitudes had been far from what ninja should be.

"It's rather telling how you talk about her as if she was some piece of property rather than a person. A goal to achieve rather than the desire to bring her back out of concern for her well being. Tell me something is the rest of your clan this hive minded that any individual thought expressed is justification for that individual to be ostracized to this degree? How can you go on about pride as a Mist ninja when you are so quick to turn on your own for the most petty of reasons?" Madoka asked the pair as it seemed quite clear that their attitude would have done more to divide a nation rather than unify it though they seemed oblivious to this fact or how their attitude could create many enemies for them in the future.

-----------
Tomiko grit her teeth as she placed her arms against the bandages that had been transformed into make-shift rope. And in spite of the pain had began to pull Zaku & Kou in an attempt to real them in out of the flowing flood. However, their weight combined with the rapid movement of the water on-top of Tomiko's arms that had been far from fully recovered as she screamed in pain that this action caused to them. In spite of that, she never let go as she bit her lip and continued to pull with all her might.

"I won't...let some...s-stupid stream beat me!" Tomiko said as she moved her mouth and bit on the bandages as she used them and her arms to try and pull Zaku & Kou closer. Her determination to save them amazed both Sakura & Ino, especially given that Zaku had been an enemy and allied with invading forces yet Tomiko still was giving it her all to try and save him & the kid. With Tomiko's display, both Sakura & Ino decided to put their feelings on Zaku behind them for now as they walked over and grabbed the bandages with Tomiko and began to aid the girl as they tried to pull Zaku & Kou to safety.

“Don’t apply your morals to the mist, we are completely different levels.” Kai said, whipping around to face raven on the other side of the ice barricade. “She disgraced her bloodline by insulting every member within it, and spoke treasonous talk about leaving, not to mention treating me saving her from a raging tide as a negative. Ungrateful. She acts like a child without manners. But she’ll soon learn respect.”

Kai then turned around, the ice barricade still in place, and walked with Kanshi and Tskui’s prison toward the direction of the exit.

.........

Zaku gasped for air as he was beached by Tomiko. He hoisted Kou up first, before bringing his own heavy body up. He dumped the water out of his implants, making it easier to climb up. He looked at Kou, whom was just saved from river until he realized an important detail.

His chest wasn’t moving.

“He...he’s not breathing.” Zaku said in disbelief, which turned to urgency. “He’s not breathing!”

He pumped his hands on Kou’s chest, trying to revive the boy. He looked at Sakura and Ino, his eyes darting between the two.

“Aren’t you guys supposed to me medical nin? Save him!”

Laying face down on the head of the dead snake, Kiro awoke to a loud ringing in his ears. His head had been pounding to the point that Kiro was sure that he had been concussed. When he tried to open his eyes, they immediately closed as they reacted badly to the seemingly blinding light coming from the opening Reaver had made.

‘Fuck!’ Kiro cursed as the memory of what had previously happened slowly started to return. The after effects of lightning armor along with the usage of the curse mark was something not to be trifled with, unless it was necessary. Kiro was of course grateful to be alive, but as he managed to fully open eyes again, he took notice of the figure standing within the light.

‘So I did die...’ The figure looked like a creature straight from hell. The dozens of bloody headbands along with the several drills, openings, saws and other devices on Reaver’s body seemed to help prove Kiro’s case. Kiro managed a suppressed snicker as he realized his situation. After all he had did to prevent himself from dying, it still didn’t matter. “I traded one cause of death for another.” Kiro mumbled silently, looking up at the demon standing in the light.

“Damnit!” Kiro cursed angrily, his fingers digging into the skin of the snake, drawing blood. With no chakra or curse mark to help, all Kiro had left to fuel him was the willpower to live. Using this willpower of his, Kiro lifted himself to his feet, his body trembling as it barely managed to hold itself up. Breathing heavily, Kiro looked towards the light, glaring daggers at Reaver. “It’s one challenge after another. If have to prove myself once again, then I will.” Kiro got in a makeshift fighting stance even though he could barely manage to keep himself balanced.

“Come on bastard, I’ll send you straight to hell just as I did to this snake!” Kiro shouted before he made the first move. As soon as he took one step, his body gave out. Kiro fell face first off the snake, onto the rocky ground in front of Reaver. Being unable to make any significant movements or even think straight as his skull was being hammered, Kiro found himself looking up at Reaver. “Touch me and I’ll kill you!” Kiro threatened as he struggled to get up once more.
