@kyuukestu We don’t really need to do this now as it’ll be a while in the RP before we get to it, but I have a question about Oirans. The Red Demon’s brothels draw in a lot of poor women from slum neighborhoods, so what would high-status human ladies like them know about low-class, irrelevant girls who just entered the trade? A sly Oiran could always tip us off, but if this detail allows them to go undetected, then I’d like to entertain other ways of introducing the Dungeon Masters.

Dungeon Masters, Farmers, and Warmongers are last, ideally. Or the Lab Rats... I made Demonicki as a way of getting info on them and opening up a new arc, but I’m also considering saving them for last, so I may just scrap her entirely. Though the escort agency business model would go unused...
Is it okay if Akane's flames are colorful? If not, I can change the post. I just imagened that her flames would be like that
Sounds like a Pearlan counter.

Well to answer that question I'd have to make a few assumptions. For one I might assume that each individual store doesn't hold a very large number of service-women. Under those conditions then it's possible that an Oiran, possibly the highest-ranking 'member' would be expected to provide assistance to integrating new workers.

I'd say you have a lot of leeways to design it in whatever way you want, and you could craft the situation you desire to create by manipulating the hierarchical and management structures of the brothel.

you don't mind if I talk to him in his dying moments do you? I kinda like how tanjiro spoke to some of the demons before they died... to me that was a nice little added commentary between them making tanjiro seem like a really nice guy and almost humanizing the demons...

Introducing the first Branch Leader. No need to accept this one, I'm only posting it here so people have an idea of who he is.

Name
: Saito Karoshi, the Gorgon Brother
Personality: Probably the kindest and most reasonable of the Branch Leaders, Saito goes out of his way to befriend his subordinates instead of running his business impersonally. He cares for the demons working under him, knowing full well that they have their own interests and that initially, there are things they wouldn't do. But kindness isn't weakness; Saito is a skilled communicator who's fully devoted to his mission, grooming those in his employ for greater things and allaying any compunctions they might have. He's a personable guy, something like an older brother or a more experienced coworker, who's seen the darkness of all the Red Demon's branches and come back to head one of its tamer operations—the Suicide Squad.
Appearance: He's 5'10" with pale skin, a thin build and sleek, black hair, dressing like a secret agent in a black suit and tie, white undershirt, dark shades, and shoes whose tips conceal blades.
Blood Demon Art: Gorgoneion - His eyes are permanently a blinding white that turns whomever looks into them to stone, so he always hides them behind a pair of tinted glasses.
Techniques: Exceedingly skilled in hand-to-hand combat, Saito's kicks are strong enough to shatter stone. He's a trained fighter who makes the most out of his physique, plenty dangerous without his Blood Demon Art, but he readily removes his shades at the start of a fight if it's to the death. Saito isn't one to take unnecessary risks. He's quick and precise with his two knives, holding them in a reverse grip and accurately slitting his enemies' throats.
Other: I don't think I need to write detailed backstories for Branch Leaders going forward, since I doubt it'll be relevant anyway.
Backstory: As a human, he was a master sculptor whose works were coveted by powerful businessmen and government officials alike, some of whom were underworld figures who threatened him with death if he didn't meet a deadline. He wanted his works to be there for everyone to see, not just the upper echelons of society. But the renowned artisan quickly found himself slave to wealthy, demanding clients, working around the clock and hardly taking care of himself. When he was at the brink of death and desperate to finish his current piece, a demon visited and turned him, saving his life. Having seen a demon's kindness firsthand, Saito embraced the notion of coexistence and easily assimilated into the Red Demon upon a chance encounter with the Mystery Eater. He began his employment in the tamest branch at the time, gradually working his way up and feeling for his surroundings in the black tunnel that was the organization, until it didn't seem so dark anymore and he ventured further in. After experiencing the syndicate in its entirety, Saito was designated Branch Leader of the Suicide Squad, perfecting a method of discreet killing and dotting the mountains of Japan with stone statues. Having fulfilled his selfish desire, he now cares only about his branch's smooth operation and his subordinates' survival.

@Clite of Dragonbow Do you mind if I timeskip Shirade to where Saito is, so you don't have to spend a post traveling there? Like starting off my post as if Saito is already talking to him.

@kyuukestu Your plan was to lure Vero to the docks, where she currently is, and maybe use seawater to blind her. Perhaps we could do something with a ship's light in the distance or a lighthouse? Don't know. The best strategy (that allows me to introduce Sena) might be to charge Vero all at once, dodge her oncoming attacks, and corner her on the plank, right before Sena comes in and finishes the job. No rush on a post anyway, @OmnipotentOnion is at a church retreat.

Onion just came back, and I'm rather fine with that.

Phyra will probably move in from beneath the docks, using them as cover for her approach. I imagine a sneak attack from Phyra from beneath would heavily injure the demon, and then Sena could sweep in. That would really high-light her kill steal in that situation if that is what you're going for.

Introducing the second Branch Leader. That's all for now.

Name
: Mori
Personality: Even though he heads the softest branch in all the Red Demon—the Gravediggers—Mori gives off a far less positive vibe than Saito, seemingly staring his subordinates down and addressing them ominously. He warns new recruits of the darkness of the other branches, believing only in the virtue of his own. Because Gravedigger demons don't actually kill anyone, they're a lighthearted bunch of reprobates who think their solemn leader takes himself way too seriously.
Appearance: Unlike the youthful Saito, who's the ideal Red Demon employee, Mori is 5'4," perpetually hunched over, and noticeably older with a wide-eyed, nervous disposition. His patchy stubble and wrinkled face full of scars contribute to the look of a seaman who doesn't take very good care of himself. His clothing consists of sagged brown pants, a filthy white shirt, a homeless man's beanie, and a heavy, dark green raincoat that's draped over his shoulders. Though Mori's tightly pursed lips look like they haven't touched water in years, his skin is as blue as that of a drowning victim, his wrinkles prominently interspersed with thin, jagged veins.
Blood Demon Art: Live Burial - He can intensify gravity within a 20-meter radius of himself until his opponent's whole body is pressed to the ground, or the earth itself breaks under them.
Techniques: There are spots within his area of control that act like traps, increasing gravity when stepped on sans input from Mori. These gravitational spikes can be so sudden that the ground crumbles the instant someone makes contact with it, effectively creating a pitfall. The force of gravity isn't consistent throughout his circle of influence; he can cut it up however he wants, leaving his foe completely ignorant of where it changes.
Other: N/A
Backstory: He was once a hardened seafarer who feared nothing, but that changed when his ill-fated ship encountered the legendary Kraken in the seas of Japan. Some sailors panicked and scrambled for a harpoon, while others stood in disbelief at the appearance of a single tentacle big enough to wreck a watercraft several times larger than theirs. Mori and his crew managed to injure it, showering them with blood before it snapped down onto their ship. He washed ashore as a demon and traveled as far inland as possible, having developed a fear of the ocean and choosing to dig in the dirt instead. After the Warmongers, the Farmers, the Dungeon Masters, and the Party Animals, the Gravediggers are the fifth-oldest branch and a common starting point for faint-hearted demons.

yeah why?... Samui did introduce herself. She may not have been talking to Dolan ,but he was still with Phyla and Miyaji after they left the forest... He can still hear her speak.
I think what Koop means is that somehow Dolan knew that Samui would be his partner, and there's no way he could've, since his bird didn't tell him. Even if he did know her name, he wouldn't have known that she was his partner. Dolan never picked up on Samui's presence after she appeared, didn't even react to it, and now it's like she was there all along (He actually did and I’m an idiot). One way to fix this is by finding the post where the owl lands on his shoulder and have it tell him that he's meeting up with someone named "Samui Ichika," or by editing out the names in your latest post.

I still liked it though. Dolan botching Samui's name was entertaining. (so option #1 is better if you plan on fixing it XD) All this time I'd been so focused on getting out the next post and the one after that I hadn't been able to read the RP more carefully and find what doesn't make sense. I think I might take a step back after this...

@Grand Master Koop I was stalking your recents and noticed you've been very active in various discussions lately, but the last time you've posted on an RP was the 20th (on Geminos) and the 17th (on Demon Slayer). If you were to reply now, maybe Samui could emerge from her hiding place and walk up to Dolan like "Oh. You killed the demon already" in her typical, matter-of-fact monotone? Then your characters could at least properly introduce themselves, talk for a bit and get to know each other, since there's no more fighting to do.

Did you mention noticing her though? I don't remember and if not this feels really weird to me since it feels like Dolan suddenly found out about Samui and is acting like he knew she was there from the start. If you did mention something before then there would be no problems and I would apologize for questioning you due to something I forgot.

I know the issue is resolved but I’d like to point something out...
At the same time Phyralis and Miyaji received their mission, Samui’s own raven flew down and perched himself on the girl’s finger.

“Samui Ichika, you are to head to a certain cave towards the northwest! A demon has been sighted! Your partner for this mission has already arrive in the scene!”

“Partner?” Samui mumbled to herself as she took in what her bird informed her. After strapping her new katana to her waist above her other one, Samui turned towards her two companions who were also preparing to leave on their mission. “So, I guess I’ll be headed towards a different place. I bid you farewell and thank you for your hospitality.” She bowed before turning around. The girl began following her raven in a light jog.

~~A few days later~~

Finally arriving at her destination, Samui walked up to the entrance of a cave. She was looking around. “I was told I had a partner here? I wonder where they are.”
Dolan peered in the cave as it was dark ,but wasn't all too dirty as you would expect a cave to be. He didn't see any sign that bears, mountain lions, wolves ,or badgers had been anywhere near the cave. The trees were unscratched, there weren't any trails or dead carcasses nearby ,but Dolan had a suspicion there the cave wasn't empty. Dolan paused as he looked over and saw a girl walking through the woods, "over he-" Dolan yelled before throwing his hand over his mouth so not to draw attention of the demon. Dolan was partially surprised to see the girl from the final selection again as he wasn't sure if demon slayers fought in teams. he sighed with relief as he was happy he would not be fighting the demon alone.
While seemingly walking around the entrance to the cave aimlessly, a series of sudden shrieks caught Samui's attention. Making her way towards the noise, the girl hid behind some bushes as she peeked into the cave to find a man wielding a sword fighting against a figure that looked like a demon. "Oh, that must be the partner that was mentioned during my mission call and the one he's fighting is probably the demon we're here to deal with."

Putting both her hand on the handle of each of her blades, Samui waited for an opening to jump in to assist in the fight.
I think I’ve made a massive mistake and @ThAtGuY101 you were right all along! :D Yeah, Dolan DID notice Samui and that’s how he knew she was his partner! The confusion happened when Koop’s post didn’t react to him noticing and acted like she was hiding, so the mistake isn’t yours... :'| And Dolan overhearing her introduction during the Final Selection is a perfectly valid way of him knowing her name! So he knew she was his partner + he knew her name = you didn’t need to change your post after all :p
thanks for the advice @E.K.A.N.S.... I think I'll take you up on option #1

Edit: it took me a minute to find it because it was post #116 of page 3 ,but it's edited now...
I’m so so sorry for saying you should edit your post... :( I guess it DOES do something good by making it more obvious how Dolan knows her name... but you seem kind of upset so I’m sorry for giving you grief.

This is what happens when I post at 2 am way past my bedtime and it turns out I didn’t reread the RP as carefully as I thought. If there’s any point in the future where you think I’ve missed a detail or I’m wrong on something, please let me know :'|

So tomorrow I leave for Hawaii until the 12th. I’ll obviously be less active than usual but I should be able to be on at least once a day, hopefully more. Just don’t be surprised if there’s days where I’m absent, worst case scenario you can move forward and somewhat auto for me if necessary.

Also, @OmnipotentOnion @kyuukestu we need to figure out which one of us is going to post cause I feel like we’re in one of those situations where we’re all waiting on the other

Uhhh, yea, that's exactly what I was doing xD

I guess I'll post with Phyra and have her relay the new plan for them to charge the demon while she does a sneak attack from beneath the docks?

Phyra being the one to act right before the kill-steal might set up a rivalry between her and Sena, rather than Kit/Miyaji... unless that’s a good thing. A cat fight while the boys drool over them like suckers.

Part of my post for Shirade is written but I stopped it real quick cause it’s past my bedtime again and my brain don’t work rn.

That’d be awesome xD fighting over whose girl is better even though neither of them are actually with one
