Ask to Join The Life of Highschoolers

"Uh sure. Not really sure I know what I'm doing but I'll do my best." Even said as he held out his own Pokeball to accept the battle.

Okay, the combat mechanic shouldn't be too difficult. Laura's experience and type advantage are gonna be tricky to deal with, but maybe I'll get lucky...

Crab baskets! Okay what do I do? I've got Ember, Growl Smokescreen, Scratch for attacks as well as dodge, jump, duck and roll for evasive options. Heck, there's even more actually. Too many options. I got to think smart and...

During Even's thinking, Squirtle landed a solid pound and knocked Charmander back which caused damage.

Darn it, too much thinking to little time! Alright I'll try a counter attack.

"Use Scratch!" Even shouted, as his Charmander got up and charged the Squirtle looking to slash it with its claws.

"In your shell!" Laura shouted, and because of that being an option, she picked it, so Scratch wouldn't affect it. "Spin into Charmander!" Laura said, causing the Pokemon to spin its way at Charmander madly, at rapid speed.

"Duck!" Even called out, acting a little quicker on imput commands as his Charmander got low on the ground and the spinning shell of Squirtle zoomed overhead.

"Wow, you are good at this." Even complimented, as he thought over his next move.

"Thanks! You're awesome, especially for a beginner! Water Gun!" Laura shouted, as Squirtle popped from its shell, squirting a large beam of water at the Charmander. " But I'll still crush you." Laura said playfully.

Probably, but I can't allow myself to go down without a fight.

"Dodge!" Even called out as Charmander jumped to the side to avoid the stream of water from Squirtle. Having memorized the moves, Even would put his make-shift plan into action.

"Smokescreen!" Even called out as Charmander released a thick black smoke that would cover the area which cut off both Squirtle's eyesight as well as what Laura could view herself. If only a little.

"Scratch!" Even called out as Charmander moved through the smoke with the aim to deliver a slash attack.

Squirtle couldn't see anything from Smokescreen, but that meant that neither could Charmander. When Laura heard the attack Scratch, she ordered Squirtle to hide in his shell and spin around for protection.

Charmander swiped at the air for a moment or two, trying to find where Squirtle was. Even guessed Laura would have Squirtle spin again like she did before, and sure enough Charmander's claw made contact with the spinning shell.

Good, now Even knew where it was.

"Ember!" Even called out as Charmander took a step back and fired a series of small fireballs at where the spinning Squirtle would be, as Even guessed it wouldn't be able to dodge while it spun.

The flames hit the shell of Squirtle, not effecting it, but heating it up a little.

"Water Gun again!" Laura commanded, as the Pokemon on her screen used the move, aiming it at Charmander.

Charmander dodged it per Even's command, thought it did land a glancing blow on the shoulder. Even frowned, he wouldn't last much longer and he hadn't even damaged Squirtle yet.

If I can even get one good hit in, I can save complete humiliation.

Charmander would fire more Ember attacks at Squirtle, as Even went for the slowly chip it down strategy. That is if the attacks connected...

Squirtle was spun in the air off track, followed by the effect of a burn. He hopped from his shell to land, and without saying anything this time, Laura just pressed the Water Gun button.

"You're getting better at this." Laura said, with a smirk on her face. Her hands were tensing, for she had a firm grip on the controller.

Even had Charmander do a roll to avoid the Water Gun, it had taken more damage than Squirtle but Even was happy he managed to do something to Laura.

"I'd hope so. This is really fun." Even said with a smile as he would try the smokescreen strategy once again.

Laura made Squirtle squirt a random water gun, for he didn't know where he was pointing at. So he used it multiple times, squirting it in different directions.

"I won't lose." Laura said to herself, her hands still gripping on the controller.

"Ah crud! Block with Ember & dodge!" Even called out as Charmander dodged as many blasts as he could, but one he could not Charmander tried to block with a series of Ember attacks; the Water Gun overpowered it and landed a direct hit which knocked back from the impact. The blow was too much as Charmander was knocked out.

"Well, that went as well as I expected." Even said to himself as he had his character go over to pick up the Charmander.

Laura got a notification from her side of the screen, saying they had given her a max revive, and a potion. It was required that you get one of each, after you win a battle.

"I'll heal him." Laura said, as she equipped the max revive and revived Charmander. "You were really good with strategy."

Soon enough Charmander was back at full health as Even sat it on the ground.

"T-thanks. I did the best I could given the circumstances. Gotta say, this game so far is a lot of fun." Even admitted with a smile.

"I agree with you." Laura said with a big smile.

As they continued playing, all her worries washed away, and soon, they found themselves in Viridian forest, which is when Laura's mom spoke.

"Dinner's ready! We're having Shrimp Fettuccini tonight." her mom said, and Laura gaped.

"My favorite! What do you say we save the game and head upstairs to eat?" Laura asked Even, as she turned her head from the screen to him.

"Sure, that sounds good to me." Even said as he would nod at Laura and then save his game as he would then wait for Laura to do the same.

I hope I make a good impression with her mom. Don't want to make a friend's family uncomfortable around me. Just don't do anything stupid...

“Yeah, sounds good,” Lis nodded, heading outside with him. “Isn't there a nearby Dairy Queen? I haven't been to this part of town for a really long time, so I don't remember most of the buildings here.” Nervously, she added a laugh.

Dylan nodded. "Yeah, there is." He looked at her and smiled. "Let's get going then, shall we?" Still holding her hand, he walked with her as the building with DQ in big bold letters slowly started to come into view.

(It's been quite some time, hasn't it?)

After Ezren escorted Dylan back to the infirmary for students- he gave him a pat on the back, reassuringly, then started for his locker. When he arrived at the grey hull of metal, it seemed that his lock was no longer there. Did someone break into it? he pondered, perking his head to look inside. It read "Locker now available, see office for more details." and Ezren did so, moving swiftly, avoiding the few classmates that were scattered around the sharp hallways.
He entered the mediocrity sized room, curiosity peeked. "So-er my locker is apparently open now?" he gave a nervous look. The secretary glanced at him- a straight face- then gazed back towards the papers she was scrunching around within the cramp space she had. "Well, the board was informed you are taking leave, due to the move of schools that is coming up for you," she typed a little on the computer then focused her attention back to him. "That-that doesn't make any sense..." he echoed to himself, hardly mumbling. "Anyway, since a student has been injured, you're required to leave the school premises." she stated, keeping that stern face.

Ryan casually walked out of the campus due to the early release, whistling a merry tune as he tossed an apple up and down in his hand. Some jocks were hiding behind the wall he was about to pass and walked in front of them, arms crossed, chins jutting forward, and a cocky grin for each and every one of them. The tallest one [Not Henry (unless you guys want it to be Henry?)] smirked as he approached the bored Ryan. "That's a nice apple you got there, kid. Surely you won't mind if we take it from you." Ryan shrugged and held it out. "Go ahead." The jocks laughed snarkily. "Now that's a good boy; makes our job much easier," The leader drawled as he reached for the apple, attempting to snatch it away. However, Ryan gave it a small toss as it leaped just out of reach of the jock's open hand. The leader's eyes widened, then slowly deteriorated into a mean scowl. "You, my friend, just made a big mistake. Get 'im, boys!" Ryan grinned as the jocks stormed him, aiming punches and kicks at his face and stomach. He easily weaved in and out, avoiding the attacks with ease. Ryan held a hand to his mouth in mock surprise as he dodged. "Oh my, what is this? This is turning out to be quite a problem for you all." The jocks' faces turned red as they all lunged toward them, punching and kicking, hoping to hit him at least once. Ryan slowly started to make his way forward, still continuing to dodge every attack the jocks threw at him as some of the jabs occasionally hit their own comrades. "Excuse me. Coming through. Ooh, your friend just took one to the face! That's gonna be hard to deal with. 'Scuse me. Sorry. Beep-beep. Ouch, he's unconscious. What a shame." Soon, he had emerged from the mob of jocks, who were now on the floor, wincing in pain as Ryan took a bite from his apple, chewing slowly as he walked. Ryan hadn't hit a single on of them once, but he had dealt them all a huge blow.... on their dignity.

Ezren stood before his new school- slightly shaking, staring harshly at the small-but-well-manured academy. Ever since his rather brutish "outbreak" at his father, his dad decided it would be better to put him in a private school, to better his horizons in the business field- which had been Ezren's dream, to live in the shoes of his father.

The thing was, oddly enough, Ezren didn't want to fulfill that dream anymore.
He realized that there is much more to life than business and working. He could be anything he wanted to be, whether it's becoming the first woman to join the NFL; the worlds greatest artist; or one of the finest martial arts instructors out there; even working to become the next Beethoven.

It doesn't matter how hard it is, or how aggravating it can be, you must work towards your goal- at any costs.
Which is why Ezren did not walk away from the new high school presented before him. Instead, he glanced at the door, and pulled it open.
And what he gazed upon was threatening, challenging, and frightening.

But that's just the life of a highschooler for you.

( Thank you all, for letting me participate in this wonderous RP ♥ )

Nodding, the two entered the ice cream shop, and Lis pulled her wallet from her backpack. “Um.. I'll have a cookies and cream blizzard - medium.” She turned to look at Dylan. “What do you like?”

Dylan smiled and closed Lis' hand around her wallet gently. "It's okay. Like I said, my treat." Turning to the cashier, he placed his order: a small vanilla milkshake. The cashier nodded and took Dylan's ten dollar bill, placing $1.73 in change with a receipt. Dylan nodded in thanks and walked to a vacant table, gesturing for Lis to sit down.

She sheepishly smiled and flushed, tucking the wallet away and followed Dylan, waiting for their order to be announced so they could retrieve it.

Dylan leaned back in his seat, grinning at Lis. "Well, looks like that date happened sooner than we thought, huh?" He chuckled as Lis sat down. He stretched a bit and cracked his knuckles casually as he waited for the milkshakes to come.

(I got no notifications. I hate my life)

Laura saved the game, paused it, and dashed upstairs to her moms call, sitting herself on the opposite side of her mom and dad, at the four person table. Laura's mom glanced to the empty seat next to her and gave an almost worried look before sighing. Laura saw this, and looked to the side, sighing as well.

"She'll be okay." Laura said to her mom, as she waited for Even.

"I hope..." the blond haired woman said, looking down.

Even would arrive at the table, finding Laura and her parents waiting for them. He had caught wind of that "she'll be okay" and "I hope" comment from Laura and her mother. What did that mean? Even felt it was best not to ask. Getting to personal too fast could only cause problems. Even would take his seat on the table, doing his best to look respectable and polite.

"H-hello there. My name is Even, nice to meet you." Even said to Laura's parents.

"Hello Even. Nice to meet you. While Laura finishes her chores after dinner, make yourself comfortable, and hang out." Laura's mom said, smiling warmly at the boy.

Laura gave a look of anger to her mother.

"Chores?! But mom! I have a friend over!" Laura said, gesturing her head to Even.

"No matter what, you still have chores to do, and that's final." the young woman said.

"Your mother is right." said her step-father, who Laura still hated.

Laura mumbled something under her breath, which her mother quickly dismissed, by telling everyone they could eat. Laura put a hand out, as if to ask for Even's plate, so she could fill him up.

"Little, normal, or lots?" she asked, trying to be nice and offering to help.

Even held out his plate, with his request being "normal" before he leaned in to whisper to Laura.

"Need some help with those chores?" Even asked Laura, quietly so her parents wouldn't hear. Even felt the least he could do was offer a hand to aid to his friend.

Laura started to dish up a normal amount of Fettuccini, and when she handed Even his plate, she heard him ask if Ben could help with her chores. Unfortunately, Laura's mom heard.

"It's very nice of you to want to help Laura, but we won't work you." Laura's mother said, as Laura turned to Even.

"She's right. It would be rude to have a guest work, and the chores are my responsibility. I'll do them quickly though." Laura said, filling her plate with lots of the pasta.

"Do them well." Said Laura's step-father, who had heard Laura would do it fast.

"Your dad's right." Said Laura's mom.

"His name is Jason." said Laura, as she acted like a kid turning away, but quickly turning back anencephaly grabbing a bread knot.

Even sat in silence. He knew enough of what he had seen in comparison with his own "father" to know Laura and her own dad were not on good terms. Even wanted to say something, but he knew that getting involved in this was way overstepping his boundaries. He wouldn't be comfortable with Laura getting involved with his family issues and he had no doubt she felt the same way if he tried to get involved in hers.

So Even would just take his plate and begin to eat.

The whole family ate in scilence, Laura complimenting her mom a few times on her cooking. And after everyone finished their dinner, Laura cleared the table and got to filling the dishwasher. She stuffed dishes in there, after rinsing only a few. Then she took a clean rag, wet it, and wiped down the counters and the table.

Even took the opportunity to grab a rag and help Laura wipe the table, mostly out of habit since he did this on his own given his mother worked long hours. And whatever he felt he could do to help lighten Laura's load, he was willing to do.

"You're right, I don't have to do this. But I want to do this. And that is an important difference." Even countered as he continued to wipe the table in spite of Laura and Laura's mothers' sighs of disapproval.

"Whatever you say." Laura said, a little smirk on her face.

After wiping the crumbs into the garbage, she grabbed a from and started to sweep the excess crumbs that found their way to the floor.

Even took the liberty of grabbing a dust pan to assist in collecting the crumbs Laura would sweep so he could deliver them into the garbage can. This process was a lot faster with someone around to help, which served to remind Even how isolated he was at home with his mother gone fro the hours she was and his father...not being a factor.
