"AAAAND BEGIN!" The elegant woman announced throughout the microphone.
It had been 30 minutes since Jonah had made his appearance in the Contest, and he now stood on opposite sides of the stage, facing an opponent in the final round. For the first appeal round, the blonde had called upon his Skitty to dazzle the audience and judges - using multiple combinations of moves such as Attract, Sing, Swift, and Assist to execute several displays of entertaining effects. The performance had managed to get him within the Top 8 advancing contestants - and he had then made his way to the final battle round after winning two other battle appeals with his Glaceon.
The timer on the large screen then began to count down, displaying the faces of Jonah and his opponent, a young boy around his own age, and their point system. Jonah called out to his Glaceon, who immediately knew the drill.
And it begins.
The ice-type Eeveelution charged forward at the opponent's Cranidos. Luckily, this battle would surely be an easy win, due to the type advantages being in favor of Glaceon, but Jonah didn't want to become too confident, because things could easily swing the wrong way if he ever got too comfortable.
-- "Alright! Start it off with Ice Shard!" Jonah called out, causing the Glaceon to reply with a quick cry of its own name.
She leaped upwards, spinning rapidly mid-air until coming to a halt, emitting sharpened ice projectiles from its mouth. They each shot out like bullets, honing in on the opposing Headbutt Pokemon. However, the Cranidos's Trainer responded with having it use the infamous Zen Heabutt. It's thick skull had manage to block enough of the Ice Shard's power so that it hardly dealt a scratch.
The opposing boy responded, "Ok! Ancient Power, Cranidos!"
The small fossil Pokemon then began to emit a bright but deep orange-hued light, followed by materializing rocks encased in the same color aura. They all danced about within the air as they launched out at Glaceon, managing to get a few hits in - resulting in Jonah losing points from his overall score on the jumbo screen.
"It's okay, Glaceon! Recover with Mirror Coat!" He called aloud. Glaceon quickly then began to glow a bright pink, her aura flowing about. "Now!"
Immediately Glaceon began charging towards Cranidos once more, her aura racing behind her glowing even brighter. But right before coming in physical contact, she released the blinding light of pure power - retaliating twice as much damage towards Cranidos. The blast sent the dinosaur flying back, causing the opposing trainer to loose a good amount of points as well. However, the Cranidos came back just as hard, moving at incredible speeds due to its muscle-bound legs. It swept in for a direct Zen Headbutt, but Jonah called out for Shadow Ball. Glaceon then leapt gracefully above Cranidos, and suddenly a large dark orb formed before Glaceon's mouth and stroke the Cranidos point-blank. A small explosion took place, full of sparkling essences of blue and purple...more beautiful than destructive. This allowed the opposing Coordinator to lose a decent amount of points as well, bringing him to just a little less then Jonah himself.
The battle went on for the next 5 minutes, the struggle being swayed from both sides - until finally the giant screen released a beaming buzzer, followed by the MC's voice.
And it ends!
"TIMES UP! AND THE WINNER OF THE FINAL ROUND, AND RECIPIENT OF THE HEARTHOME CITY RIBBON IS...."
All heads whipped to the scoreboard, where Judah's picture had barely any more points over his opponent's.
"JUDAH HALL!! Congratulations! Please come receive your prized Ribbon!"
Before he knew it, confetti was going off around the arena, and Judah was being handed his second Ribbon. Resisting every urge to break out in celebration dance, he knelt and pet Glaceon - thanking it for the amazing job well done.
"W-We did it! That's 2 down...3 more to go!" He enthusiastically called.
Finally, after the whole ordeal was settled and done with, all of the contestants dressed back within their comfortable street-wear and set out. Jonah placed his Ribbon inside his case, and made his way down the road, leaving Hearthome shortly after grabbing lunch. He had an extra hop in his step, happily heading towards Eterna City.
