How deep into Island Alpha are Kumo, Oto, and the jinchuriki? Shura, Tayuya and Takato should be on the right near the river since they came from Beta. Since Shura’s byakugan is zoomed in on Team Kakashi’s battle, it’s fair if he hasn’t caught the others. You could also assume the other groups are pretty deep into the island.

Kidomaru’s threads also cover a several mile radius. That helps the fact they’re pretty far away, out of the byakugan’s range.

Even being in the middle of Alpha gives Kumo and Oto time to fight without interruption. (Any other team focused on the mission would be smart to avoid that fight) The jinchuriki can go even further left if she wanted. Then at the other end of the island, Suna could trap her.

This way we have Kumo/Oto in the middle left of the island. Suna gets an attempt to capture the jinchuriki on the left edge of the island. However, Team Suna will most definitely get ambushed by either the winner of Kumo/Oto or the other Team on the island.

They are near the center mass of the island as the waterfall is directly in the middle

Actually, by that logic, it get's even worst, that says Part 1.

If in Part one they can only see 800m, almost 1km

and it states Hinata can see 10km away in Shippuden, that's an increase of almost x10 in only 2 years of training, and Hinata was like 16~18.

Given 2 years of training does that to the range of your Byakugan, god forbid we imagine the range of Hinagiku's Byakugan since she's training for way more than 2 years.

It says that the further you try and look, the harder it is to maintain and the more likely you will receive temporary blindness, similar to the Sharingan in that regard.

Neji and Hinata were also prodigies (even though Hinata was. Late bloomer)

We've actually only seen evidence of extensive usage over time causing temporary blindness, once with Neji during the War arc, and once with Hinata during a filler arc.

She's actually quoted to see 20 km away in the last, but I'll wait till I find that to bring it up.

Hanabi was considered to be stronger than Hinata so it wasn't as if she was any Genin among the clan (Even if Hinata threw the fight against her).
Hanabi's Byakugan is hinted to be purer that Hinata's, though maybe not as powerful as Neji's.

Though, what we were initially discussing is the range. You're trying to scale Hinagiku to an 18 year old Hinata and saying their Byakugan's are on par, and I'm not okay with that.

should be at least twice as good imo

I fail to see why nerfing the entire Hyuga clan would be an appropriate solution.

The islands are small, they fall well within the range of a Teenage Hinata. Hinagiku's range hasn't been determined, but I already stated that i wouldn't have her cover the whole island in one look.

One of the Byakugan's fortes is being able to see extremely long distances. Team Hinagiku has an advantage by default since this is exactly the type of stuff the Byakugan specializes in.

Just saying there is a difference between being able to get a good layout of the island they are on compared to other teams, as opposed to getting in depth look of another island away and their teams activities from the one they are on and so on.

If the combined area of the islands is 40 square kilometers, none of the Islands can be more than a few kilometers in any direction.

Keeping all the islands equal, the most distance you can get is a 10km by 1km so that each island is 10 square km.

Assuming our maps, our islands are not rectangles, and thus none of them should surpras 10km length or width. Their more likely dimensions fall between 3 and 6 kilometers.

Assuming these rivers aren't several kilometers, seeing from one island to another is well with the Byakugan's range.

If everyone has a problem with the idea that most of your actions fall within the range of the Byakugan, then have the dimensions of the Island changed.

brown is iwa, red is konoha, light blue is mist, peach is suna, light grey is hina, black is jinchuriki, sound is purple, green line is path for suna to get to jinchuriki, red line is path for mist/konoha to get to jinchuriki, brown line is path for iwa to get to jinchuriki. black line is path to change between the three most east islands. konoha/mist path is farthest, iwa's path is shortest.

We all agree on these locations?

Move the jinchuriki, Kumo and sound more towards the middle. Move Team Hina more to the right, near the river, to give them separation.

Edit: I’m talking about island alpha
