And its not like Bakugo would turn against his comrades, I'm sure Todoroki would smack some sense into him and remind him that he owes Deku. These two other top dogs would likely team up.
New teachers would be better, or we could just make this an AU
Name: Mpho Buthelezi
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Appearance: Mpho is a moderately tall boy, standing at 6'0. His skin constantly seems to shift from a darker tone to a tone similar to that of tanned skin due to his quirk. He has a head of curly dark brown hair. Mpho has a lean physique despite not really working out, but having an exceptional diet. Whilst not wearing the UA uniform he wears hoodies of various pastel colors, a green cap, and sweatshorts. He wears this despite the weather.
Personality: He's very extroverted and outgoing, finding it easy to talk to people and be sociable. At times he may be incredibly blunt, but that's because of a personal vow to never lie. He always acts outgoing and like he's having fun all the time as a cover-up for his insecurities, as he has many family troubles. Either way, he remains confident in himself all the time, sometimes to the point of arrogance.
Quirk: Thermodynamics (Emitter)
Mpho can alter the temperature of the air around him. around him. His influence disperses around 402 meters around him, but he can change this by simply moving around. The exact temperatures that he can get to are unknown, but as he changes the temperatures around him, his body temperature changes to the opposite of that. For example, if he makes it cold he will become very hot and vice versa. This comes as a strength and a weakness, as he can use this in combat.
Quirk Weakness: As for weakness, despite being incredibly resistant to extreme weather, even he has his limits and can get frostbite or heat exhaustion.
Backstory: His mother gave birth to him in the slums of Cape Town, and he was put into adoption as his mother didn't want him to grow up in poverty. He was known for getting into fights until he was adopted by a Japanese missionary. His adopted brothers and sisters berated him for wanting to be a hero despite his aggressive nature. When he turned 14 he was originally meant to go to an inner-city high school, but as a present, his adopted mother got him a ticket to go to Musutafu, Japan with the hope that he would get into one of their prestigious hero schools.
Costume: His costume includes a top with orange and blue, separating with a thin white line down the middle. It is made of a cloth that can change temperatures to keep him from overexerting himself. He has a silver utility belt along with white pants made of the same cloth as the top. His orange and blue boots have folding blades so he can skate on the frost he produces and also combat. His hands are left bare, however.

I don't even manipulate ''elements'' such as fire, ice, lightning, nor do I have the hair, and the powers aren't assigned to either side.

If you notice that Todoroki is on the list in the thermal manipulation link, it's not valid because he creates ice and fire, not fully manipulating the temperatures.
I try to make my characters original, sorry if it came off as stealing character traits.
I spend more time than I should brainstorming powers, and if one happens to be similar to a canon quirk than it's something that I overlooked. You could at least inform me politely that he seems like a clone. Just doing that out of the blue seems a bit...immature. We didn't come here to argue and start stuff, did we? Can we just settle this like mature people?

Quirk: Sonics, emitter type quirk. He can create sonic waves and boom, to the point where they can cut rocks. Depending on how angry he is, the waves become sharper and more precise.
Quirk Weakness: As he uses it, he gets a migrane and his arms become sore. Also if angry while using it, he becomes harder and harder to reason with.

Yeah I know, just needed a third example. And if we start at the entrance exam, should it be the same as always? I feel like over the years, various complaints about its biased trials would affect the entire method.
No offense, but why? If All Might never received the injury he'd be in better health than ever, perfectly fit to take on the league of villains and stick around to train his pupil. Like I said, no flame, but it sounds like an easier version of the original story.

What do you mean by later point in MHA? How late? And, remember, if this is set in the future it wont be an exact copy and paste.
I have a few idea's, though some of them boarder on spoiler territory. Well, I'll come back in a bit and explain my less spoilery ideas.
An idea I had was maybe simulated test environment? Put you and others in a virtual world against a villain or villains and see how you handle the situation. It sounds rather advanced yeah but im sure there are plenty of engineering quirks out there to build the kind of gear needed to simulate a persons characteristics in a virtual plane.
That could be an interesting entrance exam, while there wont be a threat of injury, there will still be a threat of not making the cut, so it wouldnt lose the sense of challenge it had before. (This paired with the written exams no one ever talks about)

I like this, would the simulations be different for each person or would the aspiring candidates all share a simulation? I do like the concept but just need details.

Perhaps it would be better to personalize the simulations, to see how exactly the quirk of the candidate works and his it can be harnessed for hero work.
Perhaps there would be four or so groups like before, but each person is grouped with abilities similar to there own and put in a specialized test to determine if there class 1-A, 1-B, Support Class, or failures.
