Be A H.E.R.O. (Superhero RP Discussion/Sign-Ups)

[RP Thread]

Ten years ago, a demon called Trogarth was summoned by the cult known as the Black Glove. This demon appeared in the middle of Toronto, Ontario and started causing havoc. Trogarth was eventually put down and stopped by a team of international heroes assembled by Tarot, Nunavut's magician hero. After this, the United Nations decided a group of heroes had to be formed in order to prevent another crises like what Trogarth's attack could have been. This led to the formation of the Heroic Emergency Rescue & Operations team, known as H.E.R.O. Heroes like Tarot, Phantom and Cyber joined immediately, and other heroes were soon invited to join the group.
But with the world used to the existing heroes, how can a group of young new heroes shake up the world? Well, that depends on what they plan to make of themselves, and if they can work together to change the world...

This RP focuses on two generations of heroes - the older heroes, all members of H.E.R.O. (basically the Justice League or Avengers of this world), and the newer heroes, the younger teenage generation who may one day join H.E.R.O. (basically the Teen Titans or Young Justice of this world). Some heroes have apprentices or sidekicks, some have children, and some just don't. Since you all have the opportunity to create both types, go wild! Oh, and there's also supervillains. Because of course there is.

Hero: Tarot
Secret Identity: Harry Dine
Age: 37
Gender: Male
Appearance: Tarot wears a long crimson cloak and a brown belt over his dark blue tunic and pants. Tarot's mustache and long black hair is recognizable to all who know him, and his famous tarot card decks even more so.
Superpowers: Magic, through access to his deck of tarot cards and ancient incantations.
Abilities: An expert accuracy and throwing arm.
Weaknesses: If Tarot is cut off from the mystical force he uses for his magic, he can't cast any spells.
Home City: Pangnirtung, Nunavut.
Backstory: Beginning as an ordinary boy, one day Harry wandered away from his town to explore the frosty wilds. While out there, he came across an old man near death. Harry brought the man back to the village, saving his life. The old man saw the potential in the boy, and had him take up his tarot card deck and see what happened. Harry subconsciously sorted the cards out in a certain order, one that predicted that the old man and the boy would be allies in magic. The man was pleased, and took Harry on as an apprentice. Harry would later learn this was his innate connection to the magical force of the universe that gave him his first prediction. Harry learned magic from the man, and was amazed with the gifts. At the age of 24, Harry and the old man were good friends. Unfortunately, old age caught up with the man. Harry was unable to stop his old friend from dying, but knew what he had to do next - the cards told him he had to use his gift. Harry became a superhero, calling himself Tarot, and saving lives of people all across the northern end of Canada.
Three years after his debut, however, Tarot received a troubling premonition. He had been told that a demon named Trogarth would be coming to Earth, attempting to conquer it with the help of a cult named the Black Hand. He knew he wouldn't be able to stop the beast by himself, so he traveled across the world and gathered allies for the coming fight. After defeating Trogarth, Tarot listened to the UN's suggestion to make a permanent team and decided it was a good idea. Tarot is one of H.E.R.O.'s leaders and their magical expert.
Archenemies: Smoke and Mirror, Black Wand, Trogarth
Hero: Phantom
Secret Identity: No one knows...
Age: In his forties.
Gender: Male
Appearance: Phantom wears a large black overcoat and black fedora with a white cloth mask, white shirt and brown track pants. No one has ever seen him beneath the outfit.
Superpowers: Density manipulation, limited hovering capabilities.
Abilities: Expert martial arts mastery.
Weaknesses: His density shifting doesn't save him from magic.
Home City: Midnight City
Backstory: Not much is known about Phantom's history. He showed up one day in Midnight City and took out an entire gang in less than 24 hours, becoming a legend in the eyes of the citizens. What is known is that he received martial arts training from Praying Mantis, a war monk and one of the world's first heroes.
Archenemies: Every crime lord in Midnight City.
Hero: Cyber
Secret Identity: Maxwell Charge
Age: 44
Gender: Male
Appearance: Cyber wears a neon blue and green suit with a pattern of 0s and 1s on it, with a mask that exposes his lower face and hair only. His suit covers him from head to toe otherwise, with navy blue gloves and boots and a navy blue flexible chest piece. When in civilian garb, Maxwell usually wears glasses over his green eyes, a white button shirt and blue jeans. He's decently tall and has blonde hair.
Superpowers: Is able to turn himself into data and pass through any sort of electronic device.
Abilities: Self-taught fighter, professional acrobat, expert gym and technology teacher.
Weaknesses: Essentially a normal human being when no technology is nearby.
Home City: Hamilton, Ontario
Backstory: Maxwell Charge was a beginning teacher when he got his first job at Ancaster High as a tech teacher and first witnessed an attack by Toybox's robot army. He accidentally touched a computer in panic, and found himself transferred inside. Using his new "internet connections", he managed to get inside of Toybox's robots and cause them all to destroy themselves. He even blew up Toybox's pod right underneath him. When Maxwell got worried he wouldn't be able to get back out of the web, he discovered he could materialize himself in front of any tech he could connect to. Maxwell decided to use these powers to help out more, designing his own costume and becoming Cyber.
He went on to meet the love of his life and wife Abby Seedling and produce a child, Clarke Charge. He was contacted by Tarot to help with the oncoming demon threat, and despite not being able to do much physically was essential to communication and evacuation of civilians. He even landed a few solid hits with drones! His heroics and commitment to justice granted him one of the first places in H.E.R.O., and nowadays he's still one of the central members while also defending Hamilton and the rest of Ontario... and raising a teenage son.
Relations: Abby Charge (wife), Clarke Charge (son), Thomas Seedling (brother-in-law)
Archenemies: Toybox, Atom Bots (Proton, Neutron and Electron), Dataminer, Spider.web, Virtual Ruler
Hero: Shade
Secret Identity: Valerie Hawthorne
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Appearance: Has what is essentially a shadow covering her entire body with a black coloring and purple outline. Her purple eyes gaze into the souls of her enemies, and the purple symbol of B'rnadon emblazoned on the back of her cloak clearly shows the legacy she has inherited from her father and how she will pursue it. When not using B'rnadon's powers, she's a normal 17-year-old girl with long brown hair and green eyes. Her favorite outfit is a white t-shirt, plad red buttonshirt that she wears as an overshirt, blue track pants and brown shoes.
Personality: Valerie is a cheery and caring girl, but often gets PTSD flashbacks to the death of her family. She lives to protect anyone close to her - at the moment only her boyfriend, Dennis. Contrary to her father, she often shows mercy to her enemies, but at the same time B'rnadon's influence does make her relish in dealing out pain.
Superpowers:
Shadow Force: Creation of objects out of antimatter, such as spikes, claws and whips. These objects are always completely black and must be connected to Shade's suit somehow.
Shadow of the Father: Lucas Hawthorne's spirit hides in Valerie's shadow most of the time, but he can hop out independently of Valerie's command or will. He has the same power of the regular Shade, just less control. He can also focus on the battle when Valerie can't, such as when he fought off three assassins at once while Valerie was unconscious.
Realm of B'rnadon: Shade can bring people or objects into her cloak, which sends them to B'rnadon's realm - aka the realm where Valerie has complete control and can chat with B'rnadon. B'rnadon still has more control though.
Abilities: Valerie has a third-degree brown belt in karate and aikido, and is an expert bike rider.
Weaknesses: Focused light concentrations.
Home City: Thompson, Manitoba
Backstory: When she was 15, Valerie's parents and younger brother were all killed by a mob boss and rich man known as Whitehorse. After the traumatic incident she was sent to live with her uncle and aunt, but wanted to find out the truth. At the risk of her own life, Valerie did research and went into Whitehorse's territory to try and get revenge - or at the very least, find out why the whole debacle happened. She succeeded, discovering that Whitehorse had killed her family in order to gain an item called the Relic of B'rnadon and destroy it. During this time, Valerie took on the secret identity of Night Rider, a powerless bike rider who caught the attention of Whitehorse. Her life was put into danger several times because of this, but was saved each time by a shadowy figure who called himself Shade. Valerie eventually discovered a major connection between Shade and Whitehorse, as Shade's name came up many times during her research. Eventually, Valerie made a revelation that caused her to believe that her dead father - Lucas Hawthorne - and Shade were one and the same, her father having undergone a post-death temporary revival thanks to a deal made with B'rnadon. Night Rider eventually decided to follow Shade and attempt to confront him about this, and found him just in time to save him from a trap Whitehorse had set up for him. Valerie destroyed the energy generator causing Shade to fall apart and took the Relic of B'rnadon away from Whitehorse, allowing Shade to kill Whitehorse once and for all. Valerie removed her mask, and Lucas embraced his daughter one final time before the contract ended and his antimatter form was erased.
Two years later, Valerie had been rebuilding her life and living as a normal teenage girl. She had good grades and a killer new bike. Suddenly, Whitehorse's brother, Greyhorse, brought a few of his mob and attacked Valerie, believing her responsible for his brother's death. Well in a way she was, but still. They destroyed her bike and were about to shoot her when a black barrier appeared in front of her. The old Shade was in front of her... well, his lower half was joined together and ended at the same place her shadow did. Valerie herself was covered in the same costume as Shade, just changed to fit her. Valerie became the new Shade, fighting off the gang but refusing to kill them. From that point on, she's been dealing with Greyhorse's mafia as well as other criminals while on her mission to defend the helpless.
Oh yeah, and she recently learned that her father's soul is now permanently inside her shadow and that a shadow demon can mentally communicate with her.
Relations: Lucas Hawthorne (technically deceased father), Matilda Hawthorne (deceased mother), George Hawthorne (deceased brother), Mark Hawthorne (uncle), Trisha Hawthorne (aunt), B'rnadon (power supplier), Greyhorse (archenemy).
Details on B'rnadon and Greyhorse can be found here; https://pokecharms.com/threads/the-crisis-crew-2-a-new-threat-disscussion-sign-up.18483/#post-561399

Im gonna use my super oc...
Hero: A.I.M. (Artificial Intelligence in Man)
Secret Identity: Adam
Age: (between ten and nineteen) Unknown, seems 17
Gender: Male
Appearance: A.I.M.(AIM) Is a normal male, who has short black hair and colorless eyes. He has marks on his head from cuts from the AI implant. AIM wears a practical jacket containing mutiple devices used for different scenarios, and long black pants.
Personality: AIM is, well to say it plainly, human. He doesn't really feel emotions, and often contrasts with Moxie (more on her later) Other than that, AIM's normal.
Superpowers: AIM has the worlds first, and smartest, AI system implanted in his mind, named Moxie. Moxie has access to most electronics and uses AIMs mind to stimulate his mind. (Confused, think like those exoskeletons you see with all the data shown on the mask without the mask) That makes AIM have vast knowledge, and be able to find information on enemies extremely fast.
Abilities: (natural powers) AIM was trained as a weapon for war, giving him rapid combat skills. He also understands technology quite well compared to the adverage human.
Weaknesses: AIM is human, no powers but an AI in his head. No Titanium skin, just a human. (Like The Winter Soldier)
Home City: (real or fictional) A place off on the East Coast of the USA called Rendezvous.
Backstory: AIM was a normal kid, before he was given to the military as compensation for some reason. He was to be used for project Moxie, putting Artificial Intelligence in a Human Body, if he survived. AIM survived, and was given the name Adam, to which he hated. The project of training him was called AIM, so he took that name instead.
AIM was forced to train and learn things from forgotten Kong Fu moves to how to split an atom. Most was downloaded into Moxie while AIM learned to master instinctive movement while in combat. Over time, AIM grew restless in training. Him and Moxie soon excaped by hacking their way out.
AIM currently stays where it is hard to find him, while able to help people in need around the area. Rendezvous is a small town, not shown on any map making it hard for anyone to pinpoint his location. Not to say he doesn't raid military bases for gear sometimes.
Relations: Unknown
Other: AIM is more of an Anti Hero to a pure Hero, from his rocky history with the military/government

Splitting an atom with martial arts is a bit too much, but aside from that he looks good.
You are part of the next generation of heroes, A.I.M. Do your predecessors proud.

That stuff was an exaggeration to say he learned as much as he could be taught. (Now he does know martial arts, but not 'forgotten moves')

Hero: He's still working on that one.
Secret Identity: Isaac Ridley
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Appearance: Slightly above six feet tall. Slender build. He has normal length blond hair that he never keeps styled. His blue eyes lose all color whenever he uses his powers. Wears, you know, normal clothes for a 16 year old boy trying to fit in.
Personality: Indecisive. Strives to make everyone happy, and doesn't realize it's impossible. Upbeat on the outside. Inside, he is often very nervous and wary, afraid of how different situations may go sideways.
Superpowers: Can transfer pain/strength from one person to another. If he transfers strength from himself, he regains it over time.
Abilities: Fairly intelligent, but not genius level. Witty, which helps to piss off villains. Somewhat quick and endurant, thanks to cross country.
Weaknesses: If ever he loses his powers, he has virtually no upper body strength. Basically a stick. He can't throw a natural punch to save his life.
Home City: Delta City, Oregon
Backstory: A few years ago, on a road trip, the Ridley family was in a terrible crash. Over the smoke and flames, Isaac could hear his sister screeching. She couldn't feel her legs. Isaac reached out to her to comfort her, but instead felt life drain from his own legs. However, his sister immediately calmed down, feeling better. Over the next weeks, he regained feeling in his legs. After a couple more incidents where he unexpectedly hurt or healed someone, he realized he had powers. He never quite figured out how they manifested, but he had them. He tried training himself, and going out on the streets of Delta City at night to stop any crimes. Luckily, Delta City is a fairly peaceful place, so he never got terribly injured. He is still weak and unstable when it comes to his powers, and needs training. He hopes to get stronger now that he's applying to be on the mini-H.E.R.O. team or whatever it's officially called.
Relations:
FAMILY: David Ridley- Isaac's father, who works as a psychology teacher. Figured out that Isaac was a hero on his own, by noticing different behavioral patterns.
Mara Ridley- Isaac's mother, who works as a massage therapist. Learned about Isaac's heroics through David.
Jordin Ridley- Isaac's sister, who is in sixth grade. Does not know about Isaac's double-life.
FRIENDS: Nick Perri- Isaac's best friend who has been with him since third grade. He's a Thespian, and is involved with all the shows at their high school, North Trails. Doesn't know about Isaac's nightlife.
Jared Trent- One of Isaac's newer friends from cross country. They bonded quickly, and is now one of Isaac's most trusted friends. Doesn't know about Isaac being a superhero.
Riley Even- A girl within Isaac's friend group, who Isaac crushes on.
Obviously, Isaac has more friends within his circle, but these are the important ones.
MENTORS: Probably just his mom and dad. He doesn't have mentors when it comes to being a hero, but his parents show him how to be a good person.

Here take this.
Hero: She can’t think of a proper name. Might need some help.
Secret: Tegan Bourgogne
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Appearance: A teenage girl. Has a buzzcut on the left side of her head, blue eyes, and a olive complexion. Her hair is dark brown and her clothing depends on what kind of day it is. But she’s frequently seen with a raincoat on, jeans, black shoes, and a few other things.
Personality: Energetic, and will not let the weather get in the way of letting her have a good time.
Superpowers: Able to construct virtually anything out of water. Tegan needs to have at least seen something to create it with water though.
Natural Abilities: The standard abilities of a person (such as being able to punch/kick/ do normal stuff.)
Weaknesses: She hasn’t mastered her superpower yet. She also needs water to be in the area for it to work, too. The structural strength of her creations is limited by her willpower, too. In most cases her constructions will return back into their original state if Tegan becomes unconscious, leaves the area or otherwise loses contact/control of the item. Also if she abuses her power, her body will start to hurt when she uses her powers.
Home City: Augusta, Maine.
Backstory: Went fishing a few years back with her father; and at some point the boat flipped over and sent them under the water. Tegan managed to create a spring to rise back up to the surface, while her father had to swim back up, and then pointed out how she had powers like that. She didn’t know what the origin of her powers was from, or what resonated in her that caused her to use them, but from that day on she kept training, leaving her home and trying to hone her skills. She’s still doing so.
Relations:
Family:
Daniel Bourgogne — Tegan’s dad and the guy who found out about her powers by solely pointing it out that she had powers.
Janus Bourgogne — Tegan’s mother, who has no idea about her training. She’s usually busy taking care of Tegan’s little brother, Todd.
Todd Bourgogne — Tegan’s little brother, who’s in the 4th grade. Tegan wants to tell him about her powers, but she’s not sure if she’s ready yet.
Friends: Isabelle Jackel — Tegan's crush. She wants to hang out with her at some point.
John Howard — Tegan's best friend. Often invites Tegan over to talk about things. Doesn't know about her ability.
Sebastian Sampson — Tegan's other friend, that she talks to when no one's around. Doesn't know about her powers.
Mentors: None except herself.

This sounds great, and I just happen to have a couple of OCs who would be perfect for this. I tried not to stray to far away from what I originally imagined them as, so if there's anything you'd like me to change, or any questions you have, feel free to ask.
Hero: Peacekeeper
Secret Identity: Nathan Hawk
Age: 36
Gender: Male
Appearance: While working as Peacekeeper, Nathan Hawk wears a suit resembling a doctor's uniform, and a mask displaying the "Red Cross" logo. His suit shows nothing but his mouth, and his blue eyes, in order to protect his identity. By day, though, Nathan Hawk is a pale, relatively frail man with short brown hair. He usually wears a doctor's uniform, as it is his profession.
Personality: Peacekeeper is a pacifist in every sense of the word. He despises violence, and always chooses to harm his enemies as little as possible while fighting them, even going as far as to treat their wounds if he is forced to. He strongly believes in second chances, and sometimes even attempts to convince criminals he catches to rethink there ways, occasionally having them speak with a therapist. So far, he has not directly killed a single person, which he is very proud of, as he actively resents the death sentence.
Superpowers: Nathan hawk has no powers, but he does carry a tranquilizer gun, and pack full of tranquilizer darts, just in case.
Abilities: Nathan is a skilled doctor, even able to treat wounds while on the battlefield. He always carries a first aid kit with him, just in case it's needed. He also knows several martial arts, helping him even defeat those with weaponry.
Weaknesses: Of course, Nathan is a normal man, so, of course, it doesn't take much to kill him. A single bullet can wipe him out if it's aimed well.
Home City: Chicago, Illinois
Backstory: After over a decade of being a doctor, Nathan Hawk was one of the most respected at the hospital he worked in, and saved more lives than he could count. Everything was fine for Dr. Hawk, until one day, he had to operate on his own daughter, after she had been attacked on the way to school. Incredibly, his daughter was able to survive. But Nathan was never the same after that day. That night, thoughts swirled around his mind of all of the patience he had treated after being harmed by others. He began to realize that if no one else was going to protect his city, it would have to be him. He began practicing martial arts, and eventually adopted the name of Peacekeeper. Not long after, he became a legend in his city, and was eventually contacted by the United Nations, and was invited to join H.E.R.O. Reluctantly, Dr. Hawk accepted, but still refused to tell anyone his true identity, or give up his job as a doctor.
Relations: Persephone Hawk (Wife), Emily Hawk (Daughter), John Hawk (Son), Ashley Adams (Apprentice)
Archenemies: The closest thing Peacekeeper ever had to a true archenemy was a terrorist who called himself Bloodshed. However after Peacekeeper foiled his plans, he shot himself, as he didn't want to rot in a cell for the rest of his life, and he always told himself that if anyone killed him, it would be himself. In Bloodshed's final moments, though, he asked to to know who Peacekeeper was, and, Nathan, knowing there was no way for Bloodshed to survive, complied, telling Bloodshed his name, and even taking off his mask so Bloodshed could see his face, ironically making him the only person to ever know his identity.
Hero: The Host
Secret Identity: Ashley Adams
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Appearance: Ashley looks like a normal, every-day teenage girl. She has long, brown hair, green eyes, and doesn't have any special costume to where while fighting crime. However, she does have a few abnormalities. Her skill is almost completely pale, and her eyes, though they have color, are completely emotionless, as if there was no soul behind them.
Personality: I would try to explain her personality, but I assume anyone can guess it after reading the rest of her bio, so I won't bother.
Superpowers: Ashley is able to allow a symbiotic organism residing in her bloodstream to take over her body. While it is doing this, her strength, speed, and durability are greatly increased. Also, as the organism is a liquid substance, it is able to solidify itself into weapons suck as blades or guns outside of Ashley, so it is able to use them. Strangely, while the organism is in control, Ashley's finger nails are sharpened enough to easily cut though flesh.
Abilities: Ashley doesn't exactly have any abilities to help her fight, as she usually isn't in control, but she is a very talented musician.
Weaknesses: As uncle Ben used to say, with great power, comes a lot of weaknesses you have to deal with. That might not have been fully true, but he's dead now, so who really cares? Though Ashley is usually able to control when the symbiotic organism takes over, it can sometimes take over all on it's own, one fine example being the day it entered her bloodstream. That may not have been much a weakness, if not for the fact that the organism is a mindless killing machine, and will rip apart any living think that enters it's vision. To top it all off, while the organism is in control, Ashley's eyes are unable to be closed, and she is forced to watch as the organism brutally slaughters everyone in it's path. The only thing keeping her from being driven insane, is that she plays music every time she is controlled, which is able to calm her somewhat.
Home City: Chicago, Illinois
Backstory: Ashley grew up loving any type of music she could listen too, so it was no surprise when she opened up a fairly popular music shop, which just happened to be fairly close to a warehouse that was secret being used by a corrupt organisation attempting to create living weapons. Of course, one of them happened to escape, and entered Ashley's bloodstream. Unaware of the strange creature, it was able to take control of Ashley's body, going on a rampage before being hit by a tranquilizer dart from none other than Peacekeeper himself. After being taken in for questioning, and enduring a few experiments, it was concluded that the organism could not be removed, but Ashley could potentially become a member of H.E.R.O. if she could learn to control her "new friend." Of course, Peacekeeper volunteered to become Ashley's mentor, always carrying his tranquilizer gun when around her, just in case.
Relations: Peacekeeper (Mentor)

Christ, that's a lot of people.
@Spoiled Bread Stunt seems like a super interesting hero, but we're missing a few details. How did he start as a superhero? How did he join H.E.R.O.? Because I assume he's in H.E.R.O., being an adult. But due to him only being a superhero for seven years, he can't have been one of the original members.
Which isn't a problem for Brawler and Peacekeeper. Let's have them be called on by Tarot in the beginning.
And @Lucas Inazumai, Weiss- I mean Undine looks good and really interesting, but I'd like to see some backstory behind her to justify her status as a named hero.

Anyways, time for the formalities!
A-3: Brawler, A-5: Peacekeeper, B-1: Stunt, welcome back to H.E.R.O.
Isaac Ridley, Tegan Bourgogne, Curveball, Undine, The Host, you are the next generation of heroes. Make your predecessors proud.

Well, when Stunt regain his memory he already has the skill and equipment to start heroing. More will be revealed later so I'm fine with him being not an original member. Also, is H.E.R.O some kind of hero guild where every heroes need to be registered, or is it some kind of elite squad where only outstanding hero can join?

Oh darn. Undine was a character from my story so I thought of keeping her backstory to a minimum. Ah well, guess I have to come up with a backstory then. This is gonna be difficult... cause I already have one but I have to change it since she is in this story and not the other.

I think it's fair to say Silver Wolf's bloody and violent tendencies would get him rejected from H.E.R.O., so he's likely an antihero without ties to the organization. Want to make a different character to be one of the Original Seven?

Jesus Christmas this blew up.

So when’s the RP thread going to be up, and when is this gonna be converted from being Open to Private/Closed?

The RP thread will go up... as soon as I can post the Kirby RP opener that I already have stuck in the "New General RP" thing. (God, I REALLY should have written something else before that one...)

I feel like Red Steel could become a good apprentice/sidekick to Brawler. Both are accepted, but I'M GOING TO PUT THE LIMIT ON THE NEW HEROES RIGHT HERE. From now on, any new characters should be grown heroes and members of H.E.R.O. We don't have enough of them, and they're a full organization.

Red Steel, Draconia, you are part of the next generation of heroes. Make your predecessors proud.

True... Eh, send me them in private convo. If I like them enough, I'll let you use them. But this will be the only possible allowance past this rule, save one that will happen later for story purposes.

so this is the last one of the original team? I say limit the new heroes until the amount of old and new heroes become the same and then let a new hero come in and then and old hero and it just keeps repeating.
