Your Pokemon Mistakes

Oh wait. Forgot one.
Used my friend's Blue. He said I could use the cloning glitch, but move the Master Ball into the appropriate slot first.
And of course, I forgot.
So now he has 99 maps, he can't get rid of them, and he won't let me on his GameBoy any more.

Let's see...I think my biggest mistake was trying the cloning glitch on my silver version, and basically deleting my Lugia.
I was so mad afterwards because I had to start a new game just so I could get it again.

Oh, and in my Yellow version, thinking I could beat Giovanni with a Lv.60 Pikachu, Lv.42 Butterfree, Lv.27 Sandslash, and a Lv.13 Bellsprout.
Amazingly, I somehow beat him with that Bellsprout.

I had a theory once that Unown could evolve if you just trained it long enough, and set out to try and train several of them to level 100 so I could discover a new Pokemon. I lost interest in that endeavor before long, though.

Before I got my start in Silver, I dabbled in Yellow. I was interested in Pokemon but I wasn't totally into it like I am now. I made one mistake after another: trying to take on Brock with Pikachu, getting the three starters and not even using them, only training the Pikachu and no other Pokemon, and many others.

I got stuck at Fushia City unable to reach Cinnabar because I couldn't find the Surf HM. And I also didn't have fly. Let me tell you, it is BRUTAL walking everywhere (I didn't have the bike either).

So I was stuck. And I got bored and put down Yellow and never played it again except to trade the starters onto Silver. At the point my interest in Pokemon almost died...

Luckily, Gold and Silver were released and the rest is history. Even though I dabbled in Yellow I will forever be loyal to the second generation because that's when I fell in love with Pokemon! ;D

yeah... definitely killing legendaries in Blue version and saving afterwards. Only one i got was Articuno.

in Silver.. never got any of the legendary dogs... too lazy to keep looking for them... dumb dumb dumb. lol

Not really, to this day, any legendary Pokemon that is found randomly in the region, such as the dogs and Latias, I have yet to catch. Might as well throw in Cresselia and Mespirit because I don't plan on catching them either. Although I have caught all 3 dogs once via cloning glitch and 3 Master Balls, I have never actually taken the liberty of traversing Johto for those 3 Pokemon when I was perfectly fine with the current team. (Which didn't even have a Legendary on it save for the version mascot, and even there, it doesn't serve much purpose other than fighting a specific E4 member.)

I think I'll throw in the "using Dugtrio to capture Zapdos" bit. With Earthquake, Dig and Fissure, it seemed flawless, than as we battled, I only remembered it was a Legendary Bird....Bird...BIRD!

Shoot... where do I start? I guess my biggest mistake happened in FR when I used a MASTER BALL (A master ball for Christ's sake...) to capture Zapdos. Saved right afterwards To restart was impossible because my Charizard was already lvl. 100 and I did not wanna restart.

Another stupid thing that I have done is when I traded a Poke'mon to a NPC and the traded Poke'mon had EXP.Share on it. Saved right afterwards as well. Can't restart for same reason.

Oh yeah, another. In every game, from Yellow to Diamond, I was a selective trainer. I trained one Pokemon. One. In Yellow, since Pikachu sucked, I tore through the game with a Nidoking. I used a Nidoran Male with Double Kick to beat Brock, and I just kept it. In Blue, I did the same with a Charizard, and most recently, in Diamond with a level 89 (as of now) Empoleon. Amazingly, I actually beat the E4 that way. However, thanks to the sickening amount of Legends in Diamond and Pearl, I managed to NOT have my level 5 Shinx in my E4 party.

I swear, in Pokemon Red, I remember my Elite Four party. Articuno, Blastoise, A level 5 Pidgey, some low level Ratatta, and I believe an Abra and Nidorino. I kinda rushed that game, no?

Heheheh...

Well, I found out about the cloning glitch in Emerald, so I promised to my friends that I could give each of them a legendary. Good, right? Well, it started off well (I was able to clone over 99 rare candies and quite a few nuggets), but then when I started to actually clone the legendaries, well, things started to go downhill. For starters, I accidentally deleted my Blaziken, Aggron, and my Swellow. Then I had deleted some sort of rare item... forgot what it was. It's been a while. Then because I had screwed up my game, I started over.

Then there was this time when I used my masterball (in Emerald) on a Kyogre (that was in the same game when I had cloned the legendaries, Kyogre included)... I could have cloned the masterball instead of wasted it. Another reason why I started over...

And then when I started over on that game, I had accidentally released my starter early on in the game... this is why I have never touched my Emerald ever since. It's cursed.

Oooh boy. Let's see, I know I did I lot of stupid things...

In my Silver, when doing the cloning glitch, I also lost my Venasaur, ironically enough. XD

When I had my Ruby way back when, I believed a "cheat" a little fourth grader told me that if I talked to the old people up on the huge mountain(forgot what it was called XD) and then ran around the world twice, I'd run into some high-level shiny Legendary. Oh man, the hours I wasted frustratedly running through all those cities...

A cautionary tale...

Now whenever I leave a Pokemon at the Daycare I make sure it has either already learned its last level up move or I can easily reteach a move thanks to a mistake with my Charizard in Fire Red.

I had the lady on Cape Brink teach my Charizard Blast Burn and I left it at the Daycare--it was at level 63 almost 64. It leveled up to 64 while in the Daycare. It learns Fire Spin at level 64 and guess what move it replaced...

Yeah...

It's good thing I learned that Blast Burn sucks and that it wasn't a more "valuable" move. Needless to say I learned from that.

My BIGGEST mistake was letting my little sister play my sapphire(sp?) with a shitload of hours into it and one badass Swampert. She saved over it -_-
Other mistakes:
-I played Coloseum and R&S so much back in the day,i just got up to the point where you catch the legendary, catch it,and transfer it to Coloseum.I got so many and i deleted the file.i had like 10 of each legend.
-Letting little sister use my memory card. The pokemon mistake was that my XD file was on there and she left it in the gamecube, screwing up my memory card.DAMNIT!

Have a nice day!

And here comes my lists of dissapointments.

1- thinking catching a pikachu would solve all my problems.Darn anime show.
2- Wasting my time training the darn thing up to lv 30 and expecting it to be stronger that to obey the laws of pokemon types and fry Brocks rock/ground type combo. Again, Darn anime show.
3- forgetting to save after I caught a shiney suicune. (-runs out into the pouring rain, falls onto knees and rips shirt out, screaming to the heavens- WHY, JEBUZ, WHY?!? )
4- Challenging the elite four without carrying any sort of potions or revives. I thought it was against the rules. ._.
5- thinking lv 35-40 pokemon where enough to beat them.
6- trying to raise all fire-type one time. Failed miserably.

I'll remember more, Im sure...

My latest mistake, and the one I remember the most, since it happened today >.>, is using my Magmortar lvl X. >_<
I had evolved Magmar to Magmortar and then to its lvl X form. Well, *sigh* apparently, have it powered up with 7 fire energy is a really bad thing. >.>
Anyway, it was my lvl X Magmortar against Tangrowth, I'm pretty sure. >_<
I ended up beating it, of course, but my boyfriend spazed out, like a lot. He and his best friend, actually.
Didn't matter, really, cause I ended up winning that match and went 2-2 for the tourney tonight. ^^ XD

1. on my gold version i randomly raised an unknown "H" to level 40 when i finally realized it was useless

2. i never understood what "dry battery" in the pokemon cartridges meant and my pokemon gold version game restarted literally 37 times. i ended up crying a few times

3. clicking the wrong moves on wifi battles -_-

4. my brother kept tricking me into battling him. I had gold he had silver. my highest pokemon was a level 57 arcanine. His was a 87 blissey. who won? :'(

The only mistake I can think of off the top of my head was in a battle on Pokemon Pearl, when you have to escort Cheryl through Eterna Forest. We were in battle against wild Pokemon, I was using a Machop and she had her Chansey. I was selecting my attack but wasn't paying attention to what I was doing, and accidentally selected her Chansey as my attack target and OHKO'd it from full health with my Low Kick. When I realized what I'd done I was practically howling with laughter, despite the fact that I'd just wiped out my own tag-team partner and was now in a 2 vs 1 situation. My Machop still won the battle so it was all good, but I'll never forget the way her Chansey went down like a ton of bricks just from me pressing one wrong button.

And you. And everyone else who accidentally deleted valuable trained Pokemon through cloning glitches :p ;).

Tell you what, though. Jeydis wins the imaginary prize with this list:
1- Wasting a master ball on a vulpix in the early days (was getting irritated at the fact that he just wouldnt go in the darn normal ones)
2-Catching Missingno >>... didnt know what he was at the time.
3-Trading a shiny for a psyduck cuz I didnt notice the shiny was shiny lol ( I think it was a sentret)
4-Raising a magikarp farm just to see if any of them could do something more then splash or/and tackle
Congrats, Jeydis, you made me laugh the hardest with numbers 3 & 4. Please claim your imaginary chocolate. (If you tell me what sort of chocolate you like, I'll post a picture of it ;D.)

4. my brother kept tricking me into battling him. I had gold he had silver. my highest pokemon was a level 57 arcanine. His was a 87 blissey. who won? :'(

Sucks to be you...

On the subject of my mistakes:
1. KO'ing all the Legendary Birds on Blue. (I wiped that file and started again not long ago, so this has been solved... I think.)
2. KO'ing Lugia. No plans to restart my Silver game unfortunately.
3. Taking on the Sinnoh Elite Four with what can only be described as a pointless squad. It contained my Empoleon at level 60-something, and a variety of low levels (Nothing higher than 30!).

2. KO'ing Lugia. No plans to restart my Silver game unfortunately.

Why dont you just save the game before facing the lugia next time? (if there is a next time) Thats whay I do everytime I face the legendaries, so incase I run out of 'balls or if it faints, all I do is turn off the gameboy and start all over again.

in pokemon blue i caught missingno. and saved it. 2 days later i realized i screwed up and couldnt fix it so i restarted.... now the really really sad part.... immediately after i remembered that i had almost every pokemon (thanks to trading with friends) and lost everything... :'( :'(

If we're talking terrible movesets made in n00bishness, I should post the "wonderous" moveset of my original Sapphire team. I was obsessed with the STAB (same type attack bonus), and so believed that a Good Moveset was to have as many STAB attacks on a Pokemon as possible...

Level 44 Gardevoir with Calm Mind, Confusion, Psychic & Reflect.
Level 47 Swampert with Foresight, Protect, Muddy Water & Earthquake.
Level 45 Gyarados with Surf, Thrash, Dragon Rage & Hydro Pump - and Timid nature!
Level 48 Mightyena with Bite, Crunch, Sand-Attack and Shadow Ball!

Hmm.

Hehe....I got one for you all.

We all know what Volt Absorb is right. And we all know Lanturns can have the ability, Volt Absorb, right. One battle, my first instinct is to zap the thing with Thunder. I try that, thinking it missed, cause I almost never read the scrolling text. In reality, I just healed it. I kept on doing this for a bit until I frelling realized that Laturn suddenly regained HP. That's when it kinda dawned on me. Then I just launched an Earthquake at it. But regardless, that was a waste of Thunder and time.

From back in the days of Silver...

I saw a shiny Rapidash and I used my Misdreavus to CURSE it. First rule to capture a rare Pokemon, i.e. a shiny one, don't use a move that causes damage every turn. This one ended badly...

Before I learned about decent movesets, my original Crystal team (i.e. Jynx, Typhlosion, Dragonite, Espeon, Ampharos and Weepingbell....gah! how could I have been so stupid?) I had pretty much all same moves on each ones, all ice for Jynx, all fire for Typhlosion, etc... I was also about level 50 for my Typhlosion, and level 45 was my lowest. I could not, no matter what I did, beat the Elite four. My Jynx always got KO'd around the second round, and I foolishly used my Dragonite against Lance. Then I learned about what makes a good moveset. So, (after transferring over to my Gold, my Amulet Coin, Exp Share and an Eevee egg I had bred), I restarted. My new team, with a lvl 40 Typhlosion with Fire Blast, Thunderpunch, Earthquake and one other move, my lvl 38 Espeon with Bite, Psychic, and two other useless moves, and my lvl 42 Suicune with Ice Beam, Gust, Surf and another useless move, I beat the Elite Four in under 10 minutes. Three times. And used only 10 Full Restores and no Revives in that time.

Some other mistakes I made, I caught a shiny Poochyena, and had evolved it into Mightyena in my Emerald. I let my little sister play, 'cause she begged, and using my game without my permission, restarted so she could get all the starters for HER game. I sobbed for a looong time.

I also hate EV training, and never do it. I also hate contests, all that using pokeblocks and poffins hurts my head.

When I was still in my Sapphire early days, I ran around with a lvl 10 Zigzagoon in order to get a lot of rare candies. I only just realized how bad my decision was when I went up against Winnona with no Pokemon strong against her team, and she had KO'd my entire team except for that little lvl 10 Zigzagoon. And because I was so far along, I really didn't want to go and find a bloody Graveller and level it up. So I restarted, and the first Pokemon I caught was my shiny Poochyena.

Hah hah. The exact same thing happened to me on Colloseum Plapti. I was in the Shadow Pkmn lab, up against a Lanturn and I whip out my Lv 53 Raikou thinking: "Well this thing looks like a fish, so its gotta be water right?" Well, I didn't know that Lanturn was Water and Electricity, so the stupid thing kept absorbing my damn attacks! And, I dodn't have any other pokemon that could do any decent damage to the fish, so I was stuck with that stupid thing that was a paralyzing maniac and was forced to use other moves to kill it. God, that sucked. And right after I made that one faint, ANOTHER one took its place! So I was pretty irritated at that. But I still won.

I got one that seemed like a good kind of mistake.

I was battling whitney in Crystal, and I just managed to poison her damn Miltank. (gawd, I hated that miltank so much!) Even so, she managed to utterly distroy all my pokemon, cept my Togepi, whom I named Happy. I thought 'man, Im soooo screwed'.

But then a miracle happened. Miltank MISSED happy, and the poison removed the last of its HP. I won by default. :D

AND Happy maneged to go from lv 5 to lv 10 and managed to save me whole lot of training time. :p

Congrats, Jeydis, you made me laugh the hardest with numbers 3 & 4. Please claim your imaginary chocolate. (If you tell me what sort of chocolate you like, I'll post a picture of it ;D.)
Ferrero Rocher please :D

PokeRad

when I brought that level five Magikarp in pokemon blue.you must have guessed why i regret it.
also when I taught defog to my empoleon before challenging the elite four and forgot to take it to the move deleter...

1) used master ball on shiny spearow
2)bought magikarp from that dude in pokemon red (turned out being my best decision cuz i forgot and left him at day care until i beat the game. he was like lev.60-something.)
3)used rare candy on modest vaporeon without ev training it
4)tought my gyarados waterfall,surf,strength,hyperbeam
5)started new game when i got shiny adamant turtwig as starter

i hate my life... :-\ but most of these mistakes were back in the day when i was a pokefroob. now im a pokejerk/master/sensei and everybody loves me.

Newest mistakes:
1) Left my DS out with Pokemon Diamond in the slot. My little sister got ahold of it and used the Master Ball I was saving for Darkrai (no, if you're wondering, I wasn't going to cheat to get it!) on a Ditto. She saved afterwards.
And did I mention that I already had a whole BOX full of Ditto, and I had no money left for more balls to try to catch Darkrai, nor anything I could sell?
2) When I left my DS out, it had Emerald in the GBA slot. A shiny Mudkip was on it, EV trained and with the best nature for competitive, waiting until I can transfer it to Diamond. And, thinking my game is glitchy, she restarts.
I have got to get her to keep her hands off my DS... :'(

I got a new one I noticed recently, simialr to plapti's but me its using Shadow Ball on Fearows or Raticates... I always forget the immunity goes both ways in this case. Oh and contest training pokemon that are say physicly appealing to the category without checking the preffered food section >< My cubone is cute no matter what it eats!! :p

-I didn't catch a Shinx early game. (I caught it long after though)
After reading that, I consider myself lucky. I caught Shinx when leaving Jubilife for the first time. It's a very strong Luxray named Felix now. My biggest mistake was letting my sister play my friend's sapphire. She saved in a new game. He wasn't happy...

I have one:

I bred a Combee Farm (All male) and tried to get Vespiquen.
I leveled a Male Combee and kept thinking,"When was it going to evolve?"
I used the Master Ball on Dialga, Later learning it had a higher Catch rate than other Legends.

I have one from my friend:

In the days of R/B/Y She used a Master Ball on a Tanglea, or something.

Why is Shinx so loved? I never get it...

Well, my mistakes might probably be...

-Ditching my level 60 Adamant Rapidash for a Shiny level 23 Ponyta...with an Impish nature...I regretted it in the long run.
-When I first got...Red? I used up every single freakin TM. I could buy Psychic, but still...
-Buying the Magikarp.
-Forgetting to get that second moon stone at Mt. Moon. I always get the second for Wigglytuff, and the first for Clefable. They get to go to the Pal Park! (Please, no one ask me the Moon Stone is. It's obvious.)
-Thinking the English two new Eevee eeveelution's name's were cool...Yea...
-And lastly, thinking it was stupid to catch Pikachu. The anime's fault...
