Hmm...

This is tough as I have different things I like about each Elite Four. The Johto and Sinnoh Elite 4 had some serious girl power with the first female leader and champion respectively. And a few E4 members from various regions pwn'd souls (i.e. Lucian) However overall I'll say the Johto Elite 4. All of the members were very cool and I liked the Pokemon as well (first Dark type specialist w00t^^). Hoenn runs a close second.

The Kanto E4 from Fr/Lg. They were the hardest E4 up until Sinnoh's in Platnium. You can't beat a classic. Even with my Eeveeloution team, I couldn't beat them without considerable help from items. It just shows how hard they are using an in-game team with no consideration to EVs and such.

I actually don't think much of the DP sinnoh elite 4... Having a fire type e4 member when theres only 2 fire types in the whole region at that point was just ridiculous really... i like the platinum lineup but for now im sticking with hoenn, dark, ghost, ice, dragon... very sexy typings, fell for the multiples of same pokémon problem that was heavily seen in the original e4 but still it was enjoyable.

Acoording to me , the strongest (favorite/best) elite 4 is the Kanto one. They are probably the only ones who actually provide a challenge to the players and are followed up ,obviously, by the D/P ones.

Finally thought of a new poll to shove up (even though I bet someone left an idea for one ages ago that I just forgot about xp). Since I'm going to be away for awhile, I'm going to leave this next poll open until I return. It's really rather straight forward:

Are you planning to buy Pokemon Ranger 2? If so, why or why not?

I'm intrigued to see since the original Pokemon Ranger received such mixed reviews.

I'm still undecided at the moment. I wasn't too fond of the original Pokemon Ranger, and although I think Ranger 2 looks like a substantial improvement over the original, I'd have to see what others think of it before I'd go out and buy it. I've always been a bit leery of the Pokemon spinoff games in general - I'm in the same situation with Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2.

Still undecided :p

The one advantage of the UK release date being later than the US means that I can ask others what they think first, before buying. I'm wanting to buy it, but as of now, I remain undecided.

Heck, yes, I'm buying PR2! I'm going to get it tomorrow, hopefully.

I think the whole 'circle Pokemon to use it' thing is cool in general, but with the added HP bar will make it easier, because I took a spin on the first Ranger, and I stunk. I didn't have enough consecutive circles.

The new partners help, too. Plusle and Minun were okay, but they didn't do much except charge the stylus. I also plan to choose Starly as my parter because Staraptor is a reliable bird Pokemon with only two weaknesses, and two immunities. Pachirisu stinks, and Munchlax is 'meh' in my book.

In addition, the Manaphy egg will come in handy for completing my 'dex. Darkrai and the special Riolu help, too.

In short, yes, I am getting Pokemon Ranger 2.

I imported it from Japan! XD

Along with that, I do plan to get it in English. It was really quite fun, the capture system was greatly improved, and the story seemed better. So, I wanna get the whole story in English!

And sorry to burst a bubble, but the Starly won't evolve. But, after you capture the first one, Staraptor are everywhere! (They are the ones who Fly you to places.)

I'm iffy about, since I never got the first one. However, the Aura Sphere Riolu and Manaphy Egg make me want to get it. Though it does seem like a solid game to play, if I got it. I'm undecided since I'm used to the traditional Pokemon Games now.

As I've only played traditional Pokemon games, I'd like to buy Ranger 2 just to try something different. As for Aura Sphere Riolu? As if Riolu wasn't already the best of the baby Pokemon.

The reply from me is a clear no because I really did not like the old pokemon ranger game. Anyway, I would like to stick to pokemon platinum when it finally arrives.

Most likely not... I lost my DS on my band trip and so no DS games for me for a while :'(. Though I think I'll save up for a new DS so I can get Platinum...

Well, I bought it this morning XD
I won't get any chance to play it until this evening due to work, but hopefully I'll enjoy it more than I'm expecting too. From the instruction booklet it seems interesting...

(I voted Unsure earlier in the poll)

I'd rather something else at the moment, but if nobody else has ideas then, sure XD

Hrmm... New year... Must be something we can poll connected to that... I was thinking maybe "Most Wanted Pokemon Game" for 2009, and the choices could be very varied. "G/S Remake" "New 3D RPG" "New Mystery Dungeon" (since one has been confirmed), "New Pokemon Ranger", etc. etc. If anyone wants to suggest a few more choices it'd be cool.

I s'pose if you tried hard enough, Platinum could be under the most wanted for 2009 -.-

Along those lines, what about "Contest-Centric Game" ?

New poll is up! And just so people understand it, I'll repeat what I said in the first post of this thread.

What I'm curious to see is what sorts of Pokemon games players want most out of the Pokemon gaming franchise for 2009. It might be something that's already been announced (like Platinum for us non-Japanese folks), or it could be something that's never been done before. If I haven't listed your choice in the poll, tell us what it would've been. Yeah, some of these games might never, ever be made - that's not the point. So vote away and tell us why you picked what you did.

I want to see a Wii-based RPG. I don't have a Wii or a reason to get one, but I've rather enjoyed PokeMon XD: Gale of Darkness (even if bits of it frustrated me to death) and I'd like to see another three-dimensional RPG - possibly set in Orre, possibly not. Hopefully with better models....

... Nah, that'll never be done. (fistshakes at Genius Sonority)

I voted a G/S remake, although there are a couple of those choices I'd really like to see.

G/S has so many great memories as far as I'm concerned, I remember waiting for what seemed an age, looking out of my bedroom window, when mum went out to fetch me both games on the day it was released. I'd love it to get a remake, with all the improved graphics and some new features.

I'd also love to see a Wii-based RPG. XD and Colosseum were fun and I enjoyed seeing my pokemon in 3D. Better graphics and a new story would be a nice addition to the Pokemon games, although I'd maybe like it to be more like the Hand-held Pokemon games where I can go out and catch what I want and work my way up through Gyms etc.

Having enjoyed Mystery Dungeon: Explores of Time much more than I thought I would, I'd quite like another one. Not so much as the other two, but it might be nice while I wait for Platinum, which I'm wanting very much XD

And while I doubt one will be made, but I'd love to see a Pokemon game made with a Fable/World of Warcraft style of gameplay. It would just be awesome, picking your role and experiencing Pokemon in an almost 'real adventure' way. I can dream ^^

As far as actual games, it's Pokemon Platinum for me. There just seems to be a lot more goodies in this game such as the move tutors, wifi games, and new Pokemon line-ups for the Gym Leaders and the E4, Ruined World, etc.

As far as potential games, it's the G/S/C remake and that's where my vote went. I'm so horribly biased toward Johto it's not even funny, so I can't wait to see Goldenrod City with updated music and graphics. I'd really like to see Johto expanded with more history and legends, more towns to see, it's own Safari Zone and Memorial Monument, and the like. In an ideal world, Kanto would not be in this game because Johto is awesome without. But even if maimed-Kanto rears it ugly head in the remakes, I'd still buy it ^^

For me, I have more anticipation for a game I know is definitely on its way, and because of that Pokemon Platinum gets my vote as my most wanted Pokemon game for 2009. However, I agree with Carmen that G/S/C desperately needs a remake, since it was my favourite of all the generations because of how innovative it was when it first came out.

I also agree with Carmen about Gen II Kanto. It just seemed tagged on, plus the Kanto Gym Leaders were horribly weak and easy to beat since the player would have already beaten the Elite Four (who were stronger than the Kanto Gym Leaders) beforehand, although Red's presence at the end of the game did make up for it a bit.

I voted for a Wii based RPG, but would also very much like to see a G/S/C remake as well. As to the new rpg on a heavier console, I mostly want to see a free-form battle system, something along the idea of Tales of Symphonia/Vesperia. While the good old standby of turn based combat which the japanese gaming market has cornered and pretty much driven into the ground, a refreshing new look at a combat system would be nice to see.

As to Platinum, well, I will probably be getting it, but I am not so sure if I am as excited as I should be considering I have no Wifi to work with...

I just had to vote for Platinum. It's actually the game I've been waiting a year to play now, and still wish it was coming out next week. :p I've just always loved the third game in each generation, and I'm sure I'll love Platinum, too.

Second on my list (and a very close second, too) would have to be a G/S remake, even though half of me, at the moment, doesn't want one to ever exist. It's probably because G/S/C was my favorite generation, and I guess I want to keep my memories of them in the original game. But ignoring that half of my brain, I really wouldn't mind seeing one, especially after seeing how well they re-did Blue and Red into FireRed and LeafGreen versions. I wouldn't mind seeing G/S with enhanced graphics and music, and possibly see more area to explore (besides the Kanto part, which I'm pretty neutral towards.)

A third choice would be another Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, as I love those games almost more than the RPG's. I would have picked it as my vote, but I think I'd rather see it after the next generation comes out (if there's a next generation.), which isn't going to be in 2009.

Anyways, those three are very close as far as how much I like them, but I still say Platinum is what I want the most in 2009.

I of course, voted for a G\S remake.

It was the first Pokemon I understood. I had Yellow, but was horrible at it.

I needs moar Silver. Needs it.

It was hard for me to decide what I wanted to vote for :p

I voted for the G/S remake. I love Johto way to much, but the new features in Platinum are awesome too. I loved the storyline and every town. The music was pretty awesome too.

*hugs her Silver version*

Of course, both Pokemon Platinum and a G/S/C remake would be awesome, but in order to keep popularity high, we need a Wii RPG game.

Battle Revolution was almost pointless, 'cept for the Pikachu with Surf.

Anywho, a 3D Pokemon RPG would be sweet on the Wii. That and Shadow Pokemon from Orre need more attention. Perfect chance for the makers to give them special moves when they are purified. The options it would open up. And not lame moves, like Follow me (Unless you really like 2 vs 2). Y'know, like useful moves (Recover, Leaf Blade, ect.)

I loves GSC. I even restarted my Crystal version because I wanted to play it again. It makes me really happy and nostalgic. So I voted for GSC remake because I would love to hear the music revamped and all that jazz.
But if there was a contest RPG in the makes, I would be very happy as well.

I've always had this hope of an omega Pokémon game. I don't ever expect it to be made, but I may die of sheer exceitement if it were ever announced. I would love to see every region thrown into one game that was 3D. You would get to choose where you started and everything else would be slightly adjusted from there. Maybe with a fifth generation they would start you in the new place, but let you explore everywhere else.
Just looking at the hundreds of hours put into Diamond, I can say I would cease to have any sort of life if a game like this ever came out.

Definitley gotta say i'm excited for both platinum and the remakes of gold and silver. I seriously had no idea they were redoing the game :o. I'm hoping they have the Hoenn and Sinnoh pokemon in those games after you get the pokedex. Also fro Platinum, i'm so excited for the new forms of Giratina, Shaymin, and Rotom (if you dont think Rotom wont have any, look it up on Google.) This year of Pokemon is gonna be great.
