Pokemon Festival

After Ben bought what he needed, he went outside and into the pokecenter. He went to the PC and turned on the storage system. After all, if he was going to face a gym leader, he was gonna need some help from a certain electric buddy!

Carrie looked up sharply, pulling her Pokedex back out. "Mine? Professor Oak gave me mine eight years ago." She laughed nervously. "This is one of the really, really old versions. He gives out the newer models now, like yours--well, I'm assuming like yours because you've never seen my type before. Anyhow, it's a lot more manually-geared then the new kinds, but I like mine because it has antiquity value." She grinned impishly, holding it out for him to examine.

Carrie looked around as she handed the Pokedex over, slightly befuddled. "Hey," she called out, pointing to the elevator door, "Where'd Ben go?"

((Edit: Who's a gym leader? Certainly not Carrie! :p))

Sonjo looked in the direction of the elevator, a blinked. "I don't know, what about you, Combusken?" But, sadly, the fighting bird shrugged. "Weren't you guys gonna battle?" Sonjo took his own Pokedex out, and had it ready for when they met up with Ben again.

Carrie raised an eyebrow at Sonjo. "Battle? Without my trusty Electric Pokemon by my side? You must be mad," She said, half-joking. She tilted her head to look at the elevator's roof. "They're my strongest Pokemon, I'd wager. I always use at least one of them in each battle against a fellow Trainer." She sighed. "I wonder where they are."

As if on cue Mischief fazed through the wall behind Sonjo, chirping happily and flying through him to cuddle against Carrie. She patted him on the head.

"Yeah, yeah, I know. I'll buy you a treat after the Tournament, how's that?" Mischief bobbed in agreement and sucked himself back into his Pokeball. Carrie shook her head at his antics.

"He's better than he normally is at least." She stated. "Normally he's off chasing poor, unsuspecting redheaded girls and scaring the living daylights out of them."

Sonjo smirked. "So, do you want anything from here? If not, we'll get back on the lift." He took one last glance around the room, and turned back to Carrie, all set for whatever might happen on the road.

Ben saw them outside the DP.
"Hey guys! Oh are we having a pokedex party?"
He pulled out his own, sinnoh pokedex.
"This one was just developed by Prof. Oak"
"So we gonna battle or what?"

Carrie shook her head at Sonjo. "Nope, don't need anything from here. We can head down now." She stole a quick glance at the clock atop the store, which read as 7:18 P.M. She sighed, and turned to Ben. She held out her own Pokedex for comparison.

"I think I've seen that kind on the Professor's desk before," she stated, examining it more closely. "It does look different. I suppose that's how you tell them apart?"

OOC: My last post of the night, will be back 3:00 pm tom., so dont get too ahead of me!

"Well enough chit-chat, lets battle! I have two pokemon you havent seen yet!"

"Hmm," Carrie hummed aloud, looking up and down the street. "Jolteon and Rai still aren't here ye--" She stopped and put a hand to her forehead, as if gazing far off the horizon. Her expression changed from befuddlement to recognition as she pointed in the general direction of the casino. "Wait, there they are!"

Jolteon and Raichu were dodging past the legs of the pedestrians, dancing hither thither in an attempt to avoid being stepped on. They reached the small group with no small amount of trouble, and she gave them both pitying looks.

"Crowds tough tonight, huh?" She offered sympathetically, patting them both on the head. She looked back up at the boys. "This is more like it, though. Now I have my team with me."

Jolteon, perhaps sensing an impending battle, began to unconsciously bristle. Carrie put a calming hand on his back.

"Not right now, though. The Tourny's going to start soon. We can fight then."

((OC: Oh well, seems like we'll have to wait for tomorrow.))

That reminded Sonjo. He batted an eye at the city's clock. It read: [shadow=red,left]7:24[/shadow]

"Wow, it's almost time for sign-ups already!?" he looked on his PokeTch, to see the same time to make sure. (Give or take a few minutes.) Combusken started to get pumped and hopping in place, jabbing at the air. "Let's get to the PokeCenter."

((Yeah, tommorow's only a day away, after all. :p ))

Carrie smiled and gestured for everyone to follow her.

"We'll want to get there early. Within ten minutes an announcement will probably go out, revealing the Tournament, and the Center will be packed with Trainers signing up and switching their Pokemon at the PCs. It would take forever to sign up, then."

((OC: I have no problem with 3:00 P.M. I normally sleep in until then, though I have a dentist appointment sometime tomorrow--I'm too lazy to check the exact time.))

"That sounds like a good idea" said Ben "but if I could get a quick briefing on the rules, that would be great." Then he returned Bastiodon and said "I need to go back to my tent and pick up Izzy, so i'll meet you at the pokecenter in 2 minutes."

((OOC: EDIT- Ben only has one pokmn u havn't seen yet not 2))

Carrie nodded at him. "That's fine, and I think they're going to announce the rules before the Tournament starts, anyhow. All I know is that sign-ups start at 7:30." That reminded her. She looked once more at the clock atop the Department store. "It's 7:27 now. We better move."

Carrie watched Ben move away, and she waved to Sonjo. "Hey, let's move. Only three minutes until this place becomes crowded."

They reached the Pokemon Center a minute later, passing through the doors and heading for the front counter. A few trainers were lounging about with the Pokemon, and a few were signing up already. Carrie moved up to the only clipboard not occupied and stared down at the sheet. She tapped the provided pen on the counter as she scanned it, before filling it in.

Carrie sighed as she unclipped the completed form from the board, stepping away so that Sonjo could take his turn. As she moved the intercom came on with a buzz and a click, announcing the start of the sign-ups in a loud, sporting voice. She hurried out of Sonjo's way, rocking back and waiting for him to finish. She could already see more trainers pouring in through the doors.

((OOC: check out my char. bio for some more info on my char.))

Ben stepped into the pokecenter just as the announcement came on. He then ran to the back of the pokecenter and grabbed the last sign up spot open. He looked at the form, and then started to fill it out.

Ben looked over his work and then turned it in. He then went to the back of the pokecenter to find the others.

After withdarling his two of his other pokemon from the PC, Sonjo took a form and filled it out. They both seemed to be happy to be with him once again, Sonjo couldn't blame them. He browsed the text on the bottmom and rules. After that was done, Sonjo took the pen and filled the entry slip.

Sonjo quickly gave it to Nurse Joy, and scurried back over to Carrie, his Combusken nearly losing sight of Sonjo. "Alright, it's done." he said, gasping for air. "You okay, Combusken?" The bird was panting, but gave a 'thumbs-up'.

Carrie stretched, hearing her shoulders pop, and looked around for Ben. "He should be here soon," she told Sonjo, patting the Pokeballs at her belt. Raichu and Jolteon stood quietly at her feet, listening in. "Should we wait outside? Nurse Joy told me the competition was going to be in the center of town. I think they had a stage set up."

Through the crowd, Ben saw Carrie and Sonjo sitting in the corner. He just barly managed to sqeaze through the crowd to get to them.
"Hey guys! I was really lucky, I just beat the crowd!" Ben looked at the enormus crowd infront of him. The line had gotten so long it was going out the door. He took a deep sigh of relief and then said "so did you manage to sign up?"

Sonjo nodded without changing expression. "We were just looking for you, Ben. Carrie was just suggesting that we go to the stage rather than waiting in a jam packed Pokecenter. Now that we're all together, I say 'let's go'!" Sonjo seemed to be getting pumped, which radiatied onto Combusken.

Carrie nodded. "Yep. We beat the crowds here." Carrie stood, Jolteon leaping up from where he had been lounging at her feet. Raichu thumped her chest to signal she was ready to fight.

"Yeah your definatly right. Besides, when we get there, i'll be able to let my pokemon out for a little fresh air, and, who knows, maybe paint a picture of the the stage. Oh, and you have yet to meet Rotom!"

Sonjo trotted over to the exit, then stopped so Carrie and Ben to catch up. It was getting more and more crowded by the second. The noise level was rising, so it was causing him a headache, and getting Sonjo more and more irretated. "Come on! Let's get out of here!"

"Good idea. I want to show you the rest of my Pokemon, too. Though I'll warn you about Espeon. He's rather antisocial." Carrie smiled and headed for the exit, her two Electric Pokemon following at her heels, catching up to Sonjo. She smiled again. She wanted to see what Pokemon they had with them.

Ben raced out of pokecenter and waited for the others just a few feet away from the entrance. When they caught up, they all started walking twords the stage. Along the way, Ben smiled thinking about two things: 1-the compitition, and 2-should he warn them about Rotoms size now, or later?

Carrie saw the stage come into view. It was rather magnificent; at it came up to the waist, and was lit perfectly with overhead lamps beaming down from nearby buildings. An audience had already gathered and Carrie gently pushed through, apologizing to everyone she bumped into. The front line wasn't as giving, but after they spotted her Pokemon they let her through. She turned back and waited for the two boys to catch up to her, a grin stretching across her face.

Sonjo and Combusken came racing, the stage comming into veiw. Incredible, the lights were well placed, and the stage well designed. It was rather big, such as the likes as Hoenn League stages. He cut through the crod, and Sonjo caught up to Carrie, he felt his heart thumping with anticipation. "Wow, this stage is pretty awesome." he hummed.

As Ben caught up with Carrie he noticed the beutey of the stage more and more. He would definatly have to paint this.
"So Carrie, do you wanna meet Rotom now? I have to warn you, he's a bit-"
Ben staopped talking as he noticed the smile on Carries face.
"Hey. What are you smiling about?"

Carrie smiled in appreciation, a bit breathless. "Yeah. I haven't felt like this since the Indigo Plateau." Her smiled became a full-fledged grin. "This is going to be wicked awesome. I want to battle."

Raichu flexed, patting her arm as a sign of her agreement. Jolteon pawed at the ground.

Carrie turned to look up at the clock. "7:45. The sign-ups should be over the match-ups should start soon."

"Alright! Ready to win, Combusken?" Sonjo asked, starting to perform their stretching once again. Combusken looked at Sonjo, and it was almost as if a firey blaze could be seen in its eyes. The trainer smiled, showing his teeth at the left end.

Ben looked astonished.
"You've been too indigo platuo! To tell you the truth, I never finished collecting my badges back in Sinnoh, so, i've never acutually seen what a pokemon league looks like. If we get matched up together, then I dont stand a chance. But, there are also plenty of amatures who have signed up, so I'll probably win a few battles...."
Ben then kicked his feet for a minute befor saying "So, you wanna meet Rotom before things get underway?"

Carrie decided it was a good idea not to tell him all the tournaments she had been in. "Sure. To be honest I've never been to Sinnoh, so I have no idea what a Rotom looks like." She smiled at him. "And anyways, I'm sure you'll do just fine. It's not about how many badges you have, it's about how good a trainer you are. I'm sure you'll both rock."

((wont be back on till 8:00pm))

Looking refreshed by Carrie's words of wisdom, Ben said "Ok, but I have to warn you, Rotom is EXTREMLY small, so it may take you a minute to see him."
Then he pulled a pokeball out of his pocket and yelled "GO ROTOM!!!"

Sonjo searched for a moment, for Ben's tiny Rotom. Then, he spotted a levitating ghost-like pokemon. "Wow, how did you even catch that little flea?" Sonjo asked, half-joking. He was astonished to see a pokemon this small.

Carrie leaned closer and squinted, fascinated. The tiny Pokemon could hardly be seen, and she could just imagine how hard it would be to fight one in battle. She gave a low whistle of appreciation.

"What type is it?" Though, she figured from the glowing eyes it might be Electric. Or, she could just be too obsessed with that type. She grimaced at the thought.

((OOC: sry i'm late.))

"Rotom is an electric/ghost type pokemon." said Ben proudly "Only pokemon known to man of that type. You may want to register it on your pokedex, it may just be the only chance you'll ever get."
"As for how I caught it, well, I just saw it at the old chatue back in Sinnoh. Thought it looked cool, and caught it. I was also able to make lot of modern art paintings outof him." Then Ben laughed as the rotom started whizzing around his head.
"He's a very energetic little guy!"

Carrie started and fumbled for her 'Dex, recording Rotom's data was a few button clicks. She pocketed it, and sighed. She leaned back against the stage, crossing her arms and ankles as she watched the clock. It was at least another five minutes until the Tourny started, and impatience--something she wasn't familiar with--started to claw at her insistently. She fidgeted, and noticed her Pokemon were doing the same.

Well, one of them, at least. Raichu bounced from foot to foot, paws brought before her in traditional boxing stance. Her tail whipped about as she silently danced against an imaginary opponent, throwing punches as if she were really fighting. Her nose twitched, and then her ears, and Carrie smiled in amusement. Jolteon had simply laid down by her feet, the epitome of calmness, for all the world a stone. She nudged him with her toe, and he kicked back with his hind leg.

Sonjo quickly pulled out his Pokedex he had readied earlier. He pointed it at the general direction of Ben's Rotom, seeing as it was so small. Luckily, it connected.

Rotom: the Plasma Pokemon

Its body is composed of plasma. It is known to infiltrate electronic devices and wreak havoc.

"Thanks for giving us that opprotunity. I'm sure it'll be great for Professor Birch's Research." Sonjo put his Pokedex back into his pocket. Though, this pokemon seemed innocent, he supposed the entry was a bit off.

"Hey no problem guys! Just remember this, I have never lost a battle using Rotom! Well, you guys know about all of my pokemon, what about yours? I am especialy interested in that riachu, it looks like fighting type!"

Carrie laughed slightly. "Nah, she just learned to box from a Primeape I used to have. You've met Jolteon--he's a rock type." She said solemnly, though she was joking. Jolteon spared a moment to roll his eyes before going back to sleep. "Two of my Pokemon are rather large, and one can't really move on land, and you've seen Mischief. That leaves Espeon." She leaned closer. "But don't be surprised. He's psychotic, I think." She ignored her own pun and reached for his Pokeball. Raichu ignored her, but Jolteon immediately tensed and looked up to stalk her movements. She threw the air towards the ground and Espeon appeared, bristling and whipping his tail about in aggravation. He looked around and noted no battle was going on. The Psychic dog spared her an irritated glare, one that plainly stated 'There's no battle; why am I out of my comfy bed?' Carrie gestured to him.

"This is Espeon. The other two are Charles, my Charizard, and my Lapras."

That reminded Sonjo, he hadn't shown them any of his pokemon, except for Combusken. Speaking of which, he was eyeing his owner, as if to say 'let them see!'. "Oh yeah, I almost forgot." Sonjo un-latched a pokeball from his belt and let his Rilou out.

"This is my Rilou. Say 'hi'!" With that, Rilou climbed onto Sonjo's shoulder, and gave a happy cry to everyone.

((OOC: sry but this is my last post for the night :'( . You guys can go ahead and do battle matchups and treat yourselves to battles, but try not to go further than that, k?))

"Wow, a lapras huh? Thoes are really buetifful pokemon! I also love that quick, edgy aditude your pokemon seem to have!"
Then Ben turned to sonjo
