Private/Closed Naruto AU: Roleplay

“I guess I’ll come along too.”

Raiku quietly spoke up, choosing to follow along in their quest to find the sewing room. There was seemingly no hesitation from Kiro when it came to accepting the assistance from Taiyo. Neither had there been any for Raiku, who Kiro acknowledged with a simple nod and reply. Nothing unusual here.

“Alright then. We can probably check down the hall first actually, but I doubt it’s there since Shiho was leading me somewhere else earlier...”

If Kiro remembered correctly, the sewing room was actually past the training hall where he had first encountered Sagisō earlier in the day. That meant there was no way it could be anywhere nearby. At least not down this hallway. He briefly wondered why Shiho would give them misleading information but dropped the speculation to give her the benefit of the doubt.

“Well, I’m just going to go back the way we came, since that’s where Shiho was originally taking me. Even though we just met, she offered to make me clothes for some reason. Honestly, I wonder why she even waited for me. I suppose she’s just generous and will probably make yours if we can ever find this room.”

Going back to the comment on clothes made by Taiyo, Kiro spoke to him about his experience with Shiho as he began to head out the room. Her recent actions had been quite strange to say the least. He had some ideas floating around but chose not to assume anything yet. Actually, with Taiyo here, there was something else Kiro was more interested to learn about.

“Anyways, I’ve been meaning to ask something. It was you who got Zaku captured, right?”

Azumi considered her options as Scappa made his well justification clear as far as his stance on the "reputation" as he seemed to want to use this as a badge of honor more so than anything else. Azumi wasn't sure if this was how he felt or merely him just saying what he felt he needed to to get what he desired. Either way Azumi remained stone-faced as she considered the situation.

Her clone as well, listened on while it also kept guard over the rest of the caravan who had yet to be slain. Her body and only her body still all the while...

"You are certainly a character. A minute to converse, if that is allowed." Azumi said with a casual tone as she'd motion for Reaver to approach as if she was putting the request into consideration. Though as she made the motion to "invite" Reaver over that is when it happened.

Before Okabe could give warning, the shadow of the clone extended and subtly latched onto Scappa's own. If that locked he'd be immobile if only for a moment, as the real Azumi lunged forward quickly as she seamlessly extended the hidden blade of her umbrella and aimed to work to a gap in his own armor to try and stab his heart in one strike.

"Ah that is what I like to hear!" Aisha said with a toothy smirk as she was overjoyed to see Taji's seemingly excited attitude about this little spy mission as Kenji rolled his eyes on that comment.

"To be fair, responsibility is normally Rika's department. So if we want to find the source of this inbalance to restore the natural order, I say we begin bird brainstorming." Kenji countered back at the comment Taji made on the matter. They didn't want to draw too much attention to themselves after all. However it had not taken long for Kenji to draw inspiration as one Spiny Warbler found itself perched on the roof of the restaurant. They had been common in the mountainous region and was enough for Kenji to crack a small grin as he motioned for Aisha, Luna, Sky & Taji to follow him as the moved to a area in the back where nobody would notice them as in one motion he poofed into smoke and soon an identical Spiny Warbler was present before them.

Aisha, along with her companions who shifted to their man beast clones, transformed in suit as they took a moment to get used to their wings while they waited for Taji to do the same.
----------
Oh I am sure you will~

Naomi hid an internal giggle at the comment, as everyone else just focused on Tomiko who herself rolled her eyes. In spite of the teases tomorrow would prove to be an interesting experience to say the least.

At this, Kuro had a good chuckle over it. "No it is fine, that's always been Tomiko's specialty. Whether she means to or not she seems to make others strive to do more, she naturally can inspire to say the least. She was able to form this group of friends on the believe that even in spite of being born of these circumstances they were worth something. And her resolve to prove she was indeed something inspired them to do the same. Though in truth it seems your boy has quite the influence on her, as she has gone on to rave about his skill and talent and adds that as motivation for her own personal training." Kuro explained, as he explained that unique quality he saw in his girl that few had but also showed how Mori seemed to bring out the best of her as well.

"Oh those!? Well they were the first ninja item Tomiko requested for some training. During her academy years she always wanted to have a style to call her own. So she went to the old weapon's shop for us here in the lower levels run by Kaori Hotaru. The two seemed to hit it off enough and Hotaru personally designed the pair for her. They were a bit out of date from the latest metal but Tomiko loved them all the same. So much that when they were damaged in the Chunin Exams rather than get a new pair from a bigger shop she insisted they get repaired by Hotaru who went to the trouble of adding rubber sleeves to help her." Atsuko explained to the kunoichi as Tomiko seemed to have a great sentimental value in those gauntlets she wore.

----------
With Pakura and Rasa handling the proceedings with their new tentative "ally" Kin, Madoka had gotten what she needed and decided to excuse herself as she went to try and find Yasu. Naturally her first impulse was to find a training field to check in the event he had been training as she worked through the busy streets and soon arrived there scanning the area.

And sure enough, she caught sight of Yasu and moved to him. Though Madoka was usually reserved and avoided social interactions if need be, she felt she needed to break the ice and open up some small talk just to get a conversation going.

"So....well?"

....it was a work in progress.

---------
Tayuya continued her sweet song as she hummed her tune, but she had not been made oblivious to the fact that the two Hyuga were trying to block out the Genjutsu with the exchange of chakra with their hands. Well that was the theory otherwise they had a very close relationship even in a tense chase, as Tayuya needed a way to dispel their efforts here and now.

As she ran to the training field, she reached into her weapons pouch and took but a moment to attach something to what seemed like something made of wood. With the next moment she tossed what seemed like a small stub towards the Hyuga pair behind her as naturally she had to avoid lethal weapons or risk the Hyuga Head herself jumping in the scene. So her aim seemed to be to try and either slam it against their joined hands to force a break, or make them break the hold to let go.

Though even if they blocked or evaded it while holding onto their hands, Tayuya had a little surprise with a flash bomb that was hidden on the underside. All she'd need was just one moment of a break as she kept whistling her song.

Sagisō

I guess that's understandable...

Sagisō mused to herself, her eyes tracking the wooden stub. It appeared Tayuya's aim was to use the stub to break the link between sisters. It was a futile effort, however, Tayuya couldn't have known that. Sagisō hadn't used any of the Hyūga's abilities while fighting Tayuya, so her familiarity with them, or lack thereof, was reasonable.

As the stub closed in, a well-timed pulse of chakra easily deflected it. The wood went sprawling, and it was at that moment that both Sagisō and Furījia's eyes were able to visualize the flashbang attached to its tail. Sagisō's pupils constricted, adrenaline pouring through her body for the n-th time today. Clever girl...

Internally, she praised Tayuya's quick thinking. A two-part diversion, however, even this second ploy would find itself thwarted by the girl's kekkei genkai. The flashbang exploded with a flash of blinding white light, and even as the light washed over the sisters, it seemed to drive the color from their pupils, as they both simultaneously activated the Byakugan.

For a while, her vision was pure white, the sensitive photo-receptive cells lining her eyeballs quickly overwhelmed by the flash. Her steps faltered, but then, the cool wash of chakra fed to her eyes began to work its magic. All the Byakugan fully revealed itself, the brightness of the flashbang gave way to a multi-colored world, albeit, a blurry one.

The flashbang had taken its effect, leaving her mildly disoriented. However, its effects were being gradually driven away by her visual prowess, and the world began to sharpen into focus in careful increments.

Although her vision hadn't fully returned, she could at least navigate enough not to trip over her feet, and in a classic display of confidence better called a bluff, she taunted.

"You'll have to try much harder than that to escape these eyes!"

"Really? That's interesting, and something that could be very useful later in life." Iwao's militant way of thinking showed as he immediately thought of Tomiko in a fight and motivating her comrades in arms. "Mori told me that she wanted to become Tsuchikage, this skill would undoubtedly make her very popular among civilians and ninja alike. Though it feels weird to think that your girl will one day be my boss." He chuckled at the thought of Tomiko wearing the Tsuchikage garb without aging a bit. But the mention of Mori motivating someone, especially someone who motivated himself, caught Iwao off guard. "Really? Mori left enough of an impression on her for her to rave about him? Mori always used to stick to the sidelines, staying out of sight because he hated attention. What kind of impact did Tomiko have on him?" Iwao had to refrain himself from dramatically grasping his heart after hearing how much his son has changed since his younger days.

Kasumi listened carefully, it seemed that the gloves had sentimental value to the young girl. This Hotaru seemed to be gifted enough to make some good quality weapons given the materials at her disposal, and adding rubber sleeves was a smart idea to help with Lightning Style users. "Damaged in the Chunin Exams? She must have done quite some damage for iron to get damaged to a degree that requires it to be repaired." She whistled at the thought of Tomiko bashing the skulls in of her opponents. "Atsuko, I have a question. How willing is Tomiko to add or remove things to her gloves? I have a plan to improve their fighting capability, but I want her permission first."

-------------------

Taji sighed. "I recall telling you two about splitting the bill? I am disappointed in you two." She said as she paid for the bill by herself and followed Kenji to an area in the back. "Rika better restore the natural order soon, because I don't know if I can keep you two in check without using jutsu." Within seconds, a fifth Spiny Warbler stood next to the other four. "Remember, you two need to pay me back after paying your shares as well."

*SLASH!*

In a sudden strike from the shadows, Scrappa was stabbed clean in the heart. A cough of surprise was given out. There was no heartbeat. He grinned widely, his body becoming motionless. The deed was done. Albeit the body showed no sign of worry, as if it already had solace.

As the sound of stabbing sounded, several caravan thugs made their appearance near the entrance, reaver snarling at their sudden intervention.

“Honorless thugs...HAVE AT THEE!”

He bended the metal hands toward them, gripping one’s face and squeezing tightly, popping their head like a ripe melon. Another was punched in the gut before being dragged off by their ankle. Reaver looked over to Azumi.

“Let’s leave already, none of these dogs are trophy worthy!”

Baiyan

The walls of the cavern shook, fractures spreading through the bedrock. These were a prelude to the localized collapse of the cave, as earth and rumble descended upon the invading caravan thugs. Baiyan lifted her hands from the ground, cutting the supply of chakra that had destabilized the cave. She had no clue how many people had perhaps been caught in that cave in, but their deaths were secondary to the obstruction now between the thugs and their small group. Even still, the Sword Star has a hunch most of them would've been fine.

"We should leave quickly," she agreed with Reaver, "it's likely they have an earth specialist, and we don't want that to be us." She made a quick gesture towards the cave-in.

"You should probably take the body, rather odd that a random mook could have a scroll of such weight." The Sword Star suggestively gave her thoughts, whether Azumi chose to follow up on them was, of course, the Ame-kunoichi's prerogative.

After walking off on his own, Shura made his way to the room he had left Sagiso’s hair in before going off to see her fight against Tayuya. He grabbed the locks of fibre then proceeded to lay it down on a work table and sat down on the stool facing it.

He began observing the bundle of hair, the locks seemed to be around 3 meters long and looked to be very well taken care of. Unlike most head of hairs, Sagiso’s were mostly uniform in their length even with the hastily cut finish. Each strand glowed in the light of the lamp shining above them, giving them a smooth and silky look. The locks all looked to be very healthy and in top condition. “Despite how she is like, I have to admit Sagiso takes really good care of her hair. I’m surprised she’s able to keep them well to this degree with while having this much.” Shura said to himself. “These could very well be higher quality than some of the best ropes I’ve seen.”

Walking around the workplace, Shura began collecting the various tools and materials he’ll be using in his project using Sagiso’s hair as the centrepiece. “Well, I should get started.”

Woosh!
Azumi had already spun her umbrella moments after she grasped the scroll as she fired several high speed senbon out which struck a couple of thuggish caravan members that she presumed backed the fallen Scappa as they coughed out; blood dripped from their lips as they fell to the ground as they convulsed and squirmed before they slumped down. Azumi heard both Reaver & Baiyan's comments as she thought over what was to be done as she placed the scroll in her pocket and signaled for her clone to come and take the body of the "mook" who laid dead still.

"You will take the body with them. You two go on ahead I will gather up other supplies and wrap up the loose ends." Azumi explained to the pair as neither seemed to question it as Baiyan was quick to use an Earth Release variant to make a mud path that allowed them to tunnel their way safely out of the tunnel as Azumi's clone which dragged Scappa's body followed. Azumi turned to the reamaining Caravan members and Okabe, while his wife and children remain hidden in a nearby cabinet against the wall. Okabe frowned but kept himself in front of the Carvan members, injuries and all.

"I presume we will have to abide by further conditions to escape this doomed cave? Whatever it is including my life I am prepared to pay needed penalty." Okabe explained as he had been willing to put his own life as sacrifice as he doubted Azumi would let him live but to negotiate for what lives he could had been a must.

Swoosh!

However, as she seemed to draw a pair of blades that seemed to carry an Iwa-style craftsmanship and her shadows danced about, it seemed she sought more than mere pleas.

"Yeah, will be weird to see my little girl running the village. Worried our store would be seen as a conflict of interest, not that Tomiko would ever try to bend the rules for personal gain." Kuro said with a sheepish chuckle before he addressed his question. "Oh yes, Tomiko admires his strength & skill and the fact he has changed so much only strives to make her improve. I'm glad to see my girl is able to help him in kind." Kuro replied with a small smile.

"Yeah, Tomiko....bumped into an Uchiha from the Mist in the exams. Damaged her gauntlets & arms severely, it was a tough period for all of us her especially." Atsuko explained in mention of the damaged gauntlets, with her voice lowered momentarily before she shook her head and smiled back at the kunoichi. "Oh Tomiko can take them off no issues, I think for this dinner she was just busy out with a little get together with her crew so she forgot to take them off." Atsuko explained with a light chuckle as she wondered even if Tomiko was aware she still had them on. "Guess it shows how comfortable she is with them to not even notice them huh?"

Tomiko herself after some teases and begging from her crew, gained some distance as she volunteered to help clean some dishes. Ren providing some support as the two worked to clean the plates as Ren glanced once back at Mori before he turned to Tomiko.

"Seems his attitude took a 180 from what you described at the academy. If these few visits to us are any indication..." Ren said as Tomiko had a light smile as she had not even glanced away from her plate before she responded.

"I mean people change, is it really that shocking he did?" Tomiko countered back simply as Ren offered a light shrug as he dried his plate with an old rag.

"Not so much that, but to the degree of it. And I wonder how much sway you had in this new direction..." Ren mused as Tomiko had a big grin and was quick to answer.

"He made this choice himself, if he felt I had any factor in his judgement well more power to him. But he is the one who fixed his lazy and indifferent habits and that should be celebrated. Heck if Mori could pull himself to becoming this fine shinobi maybe it can work to improve those Sharks..." Tomiko began to say before a gesture and stern look cut her off as Ren eyed her.

"Those Sharks are not mere slacker students. They see the misery of this situation as justification to bully and cause harm, those kind of people don't change." Ren countered, as unknown to all he had already paid those sharks a visit before they could try something with Mori and his parents. Though Tomiko was not one to be told off with one "no" as she glanced back at Ren.

"That is a defeatist mindset. They had a hard life, everyone here does, but that doesn't mean one can't rise to be better than their circumstance."

-----
"...I think one can rise above the dark circumstances they may be born into. That one is never doomed to remain there."
Azumi was merciless. She charged ahead as her tendrils kept most from escaping as one by one she cut each and every caravan member down. The cries of agony, the screams of terror and pleas for mercy were drowned out as her cold eyes stared ahead with a focused intensity. Blood shot high into the air as it began to stain her Iwa-crafted tools as they cut them down in rapid succession.

"And that's what I want to do, what I want to be. An example to show that one doesn't have to wallow in that pain, that they can rise above and find greater purpose rather than let those old wounds cause them further misery."
Okabe tried to stand in defiance of this, injuries and all, but he was little more than an extended speedbump and soon enough blood splattered as the curved blade sliced through his neck and one kick sent him crashing to the cabinet where his body came to a mortified slump. The same cabinit that Azumi had heard those muffled cries earlier...

"The Sharks are in the same situation we are. Even if they turn to these tactics, it doesn't mean that all there is left is evil. I think one can always take the path to being decent, it just needs to be opened to them."
Azumi opened up the cabinte, her gaze shifted to a mother who clutched her two children as they fearfully clung to her for support. The mother mixed aggression and fear as she was all that remained between them and this aggressor. Only a silent cry of "please" escaped her lips, hoping if little else that she'd spare the two children who were innocent of whatever she presumed she was hired to deal with.

But even as this image caused a slight hesitation from Azumi, she none the less draw a kunai and made a "shush" motion before she advanced.

.....

Before long Azumi followed Baiyan's mud path out of the tunnel just before it would inevitably collapse, as she took extra precuation and sealed the exit as she finished wiping the fresh blood off her kunai; the lone weapon she held to as the rest of the Iwa-style weapons were left in the tunnels along with an old blood-stained headband she had just for this occasion. Azumi walked over to Reaver, Baiyan and her clone as well as the dead Scappa.

"Our mission is finished. The next part, once we are done with the matter of this scroll and its former host, is to return to Ame and begin plans to cut the head off this snake." Azumi explained, referring to the diplomat that had these caravan as a hired hand. Only with that fall could this first branch of corruption be wiped from the Shinobi World.

----------
"Well to be fair, this is my first share of a mission check and I probably need to use that to find a place. I mean I can just stay in the wild but I think Kenji would judge me~" Aisha said with a toothy reply as Kenji shrugged her best he could with his wings.

"Hey, let's worry about the tip drama after we make sure a friend in need is okay. Objections? Okay good to hear let's go." Kenji said as he tried to "smoothly" dodge the question and once the ninja and ninja dogs had been allotted time to get used to their wings and soon enough took off though kept a pace Taji could follow at.

During this takeoff, Rika had wondered the sidewalk alone as she seemed to try and take a path to avoid being spotted by people; through alleys and seemingly taking isolated longer routes. None of this mattered, as Aisha and her companions noses would easily keep up with whatever path she took. Though where she went itself was a curiosity.

----------

Fuck this fucking bullshit!
Bluff or no bluff, Tayuya had not taken kindly to the taunt as much to her own annoyance the girls handed remained annoying locked in spite of her best efforts. The flashbang seemed to disorient them but not enough for her goal, which left her with limited options and most of them quite frankly were a bit too taxing for her liking.

So, she ceased her whistling and turned to face them now that they had arrived at the training field. One hand on her flute she pulled out, the other resting in her pocket where a subtle kunai rested by her thumb.

"Okay, let me make one thing clear. I bath on my own terms, certainty I am not dragged to go to a pool party on your leisure you got that?" Tayuya spat with a scowl as she made her defiant stand against the Hyuga.

Taiyo
With Kiro's acceptance of both Taiyo and Raiku's assistance, the only natural course of action was to begin searching for that sewing room Shiho was talking about.

While they were exiting Shiho's room, Kiro began to share with the FBS master the experiences he had with Shiho, but then Kiro asked a more important question.

"It was you who got Zaku captured, right?”

At first, Taiyo looked at the Hyuga's prisoner with a confused glance, which later transitioned into one of dawning comphrension.

"I guess I must've. In reality, all I did was throw a simple fireball in his face and then he went down like a paper tiger in a tidal wave. I mean even the kid he brought with him did more damage to me than he did, all the kid did was kick me,"

Taiyo gave a chuckle at this realization of Zaku's misfortune before shifting into a more serious tone regarding the topic.

"But seriously, Im glad Zaku was alive enough to be captured. Sure we have some history between us, but to be honest, I just pretend I still hold a grudge with him to get a match in. He's one of the more fun opponents I fight, and I'd hate to see him die. Plus, he means something to that kid he always hangs out with, and I know what it's like to lose someone you care about, so if I ended up causing him the same pain I felt when I was probably around his age, I wouldn't be able to look at myself in the mirror for a while,"

Seiun

"Attempted Murder, Damage to Public Property, Grand Theft, Resisting Arrest, among various misdemeanors...where do you think you're going jack-ass? The Park?"

A shallow sense of satisfaction came from hearing the guards respond to his provokation. Unfourtunately for the Rainy rouge, juvenile remarks like that were going to get him nowhere but the only place juvenile's go, in this case, a pair of cast-iron stocks. As he was put in, his first instinct was to try and escape, he thrashed and wobbled the stocks, but his efforts proved to be futile. Once he knew that he wasnt going anywhere, he did the one thing he could see to do in this situation: think.

Why..? Why did I end up here? How did I end up here..? Oh I know...its because Im a fucking murderous refugee...heh...almost forgot about that part.

Clearly, this answer is merely only the surface level reason to explain why Seiun has does what he did. In order to find out the real reason, some deeper introspection will be required.

Iwao snickered. "When your girl becomes Tsuchikage, she most likely will be among the strongest ninja in the land. If anyone even so much as thinks of messing with this shop, I seriously doubt that they will get away with it. And what kind of Tsuchikage would bend the rules? That would just paint themselves as untrustworthy and ruin their public image once someone finds out. There's no doubt in my mind that Tomiko would never bend the rules. Ruining your dream after spending your whole life trying to achieve it is both insanity and nonsense." The jonin waved his hand as to casually swat away a fly, the fly in this case being the idea of Tomiko becoming corrupt.

Kasumi's eyebrows lifted when Atsuko mentioned Kiro. "An Uchiha? From the Mist nontheless? Uchiha always are a nasty piece of work, but an Uchiha from the Bloody Mist?" Iwao's index finger twiched as Kasumi dropped both the clan he feared to this day and the old name of the Mist, a name most older ninja use. "I know the Chunin Exams are serious and a way to gauge the strength of each nation, but from what I just heard these Exams were a lot more brutal than usual. An Uchiha should have plenty of options to attack her, and although disabling her arms is an effective strategy, it feels like they wanted to hurt Tomiko before beating her. Could his parents still use the Bloody Mist way of upbringing? That would explain their savageness." Snapping out of her musings, she smiled sheepishly at Atsuko. "Sorry, didn't mean to analyse the fight. It definitely is a good thing that she is so used to them, those gloves are always usable after all. I just wonder if she will allow me to add some seals to them. Though I might wait to see how she uses them in a fight, didn't she plan a spar with Mori tomorrow?"

As much as Mori liked to be around the gang, he really didn't know them that well. Tomiko, Naomi and to an extent Ren were about the only ones he was decently close with. If there was any time to get to know the others, it was now. The genin faced the twins, Jirou, Hoshi and Naomi, coughing to clear his throat. "You know, I always say your names in one breath with the rest of the group. But I want to know each and every one of you as a person, not as a member of a group. Would you mind telling me your likes and dislikes, your dreams and your fears? That also makes finding Christmas gifts a lot easier." He let out a chuckle as he scratched the back of his head. "Of course, I know that it might be a bit scary. After all, I am still pretty new to you all. So I'll do it first. I like training, doing missions, eating dango, knitting as Naomi can prove." He nodded towards Mr. Snugglebottom before continuing. "Let's see, what else do I like? Well, I've always enjoyed drawing and putting up a show. I don't mind getting dirty, so I guess digging is something I like. And I like T-"

Mori quickly noticed his slip-up and coughed. "Sorry, throat was itchy. Where was I? Oh yes, was about to say I like training. Did I already say that? Eh, it doesn't matter. I don't like water, obviously, I am not that big on ramen, don't really get the hype about it and I really dislike people who are self-centered and will do anything as long as they reap the benefits. It is not that hard to care about others!" Whilst he was talking, his mind tried to recover from the self-destruct button that was almost pressed. Nonsense, I like being with Tomiko. She's great company, though we're just friends. Nothing more and nothing less! But the image of King Mori's antics whilst he was stuck on Tomiko's butt appeared in front of him and somehow he felt proven wrong. Maybe there was something he didn't realise, but that would be an issue for future Mori.

----------------------

"The food is not that expensive, and since I need to find a place of my own as well, we might as well share a home. As long as you pay me back, then I don't care what you do with the rest." Taji said before Kenji shut her up. "Fair enough, let's get to flying." She said as she followed the rest of her 'flock', her mind creating and rehearsing lines she would say when leaving her parental house.

Suddenly and without warning, Shiho leaped down from a tree next to Tayuya and landed onto the sound kunoichi’s back, her arms wrapping around the prisoner’s neck. She leaned in next to her ear. “Oh come on, don’t you get all this is completely unnecessary and a complete waste of time?” She spoke in a very quiet and soft voice.

“Sure it’s true that you have your own rights but I’m sure you’ve noticed it by now, you barely have any privacy here, if any at all. We do give you a lot of freedom here, but that’s because you’re always within reach of our eyes here. Did you really think we would let you truly be off doing whatever you pleased without supervision? Really, there’s isn’t any difference with when you decide when to do things and when not to do things.” She begun stroking Tayuya’s hair in a comforting manner. “So there seriously isn’t going to be a difference if you take a bath now with these ladies here or if you took a bath later. This is sad, but it’s the truth.”

Shiho then flung her head up. “So did you hear what I said? Was I too quiet? Sorry I put bubbles in my ears to block out your sound based genjutsu so I can’t hear anything right now!” Her voice suddenly skyrocketed in volume. “I wanted to tell you that truth bomb in a comforting tone so you don’t freak out it I’m not sure if it was audible enough for you!”

As Kou finished the bowl of ramen, he gave a long exhale, patting his belly. He hadn’t been that full since...well...ever! He felt at ease. Satisfied. He smiled wide, sitting back in his seat. As he sat back, his eyes found themesleves looking at several men and women, setting up decorations in town, strips of ornate spheres, lanterns, amongst other such decor began to show. He hadn’t seen anything like that before.

“What...what is happening over there?” He asked Sakura curiously.

Sagisō

Well...she wasn't complaining. Shiho's entrance had been less sudden and more questionable as while Sagisō had been aware of the girl's presence, she didn't know why she was present. However, that confusion soon became utter bafflement as Sagisō deciphered the words Shiho was whispering into Tayuya's ears...

Why was this girl revealing the Hyūga's method of observation? Was she stupid? She was definitely stupid. Loose lips sink ships, or so they say. Sagisō shook her head, dismissing the thought. It didn't matter to her anyways. She would be returning to Nadeshiko within the week, so Konoha's issues would hardly concern her.

"Whatever you say little Kosho", the Nadeshiko kunoichi rolled her eyes, "would you like the bath with bubbles or steam~?"

Seiun
The rouge-nin was unresponsive: he was too busy recollecting the past to hear B.O.S.E.C. Indeed, as of now, Seiun was so detached from reality that he could be possessed and not have a clue as to what was going on. But that's not important however what is important is what Seiun was recollecting, which is where we really begin.

Yasei Residence, Amegakure

This story begins in a lavish mansion, or at least as lavish as they come in Amegakure. This is not a happy story, this is one of suffering, of grief, and it opens with a boy's excitement.

Seiun yawned as he woke up from his bed. He moved to check the calendar and took a long look at the date.

Wait that's today? Oh my god, its today!

The boy had an excited gleam in his eyes, the gleam of a childlike excitement, as he sprinted downstairs. To his surprise, no sort of fanfare seemed to be given, it was almost as it wasn't Seiun's big day. He went over to his mom and asked the question any 7 year old would ask.

"Mom, do you know what day it is?" A cheeky little grin plastered on his face as he inquired with a sing-song voice.

"Of course I do child, your getting your chakra nature revealed to you today," Mrs. Yasei had an all-business tone, no excitement was present in her voice.

"Now hurry up boy, this fine gentlemen has been waiting here for an hour now," After being not-so-gently urged by his father, the boy grasped the paper that the gentleman was holding to observe what would happen. To his surprise, the paper began to crinkle up as if he had folded it numerous times despite only touching it with his index finger and thumb.

"Woah…what does this mean?" The young boy looked to his father for confirmation.

"It means my boy, that you have the best chakra nature of them all: Lightning. Like your brother and sister before you," There was some form of whimsy in his voice, but that only came in when he mentioned the nature since it immediately died when he mentioned Seiun's sister.

Big Sis had lightning too? That's great! Can't wait to tell her about it!

"Cool! So mama, when will I be going to the academy?"

"Never."

His mother's curt response cut Seiun. What did she mean never?! Unfortunately, his mother had to elaborate further.

"You see son, us Yasei are the cream of the crop in Ame. Sure we don't present it that way, but our children are the finest shinobi in this village, and we don't want you to be any less than your dear siblings were," Seiun nodded as she went on, "They only obtained their skills through the rigorous training that we gave them, so it's only fair that we give you the same treatment,"

A palpable look of disappointment intruded on Seiun's face since he was so excited to finally meet the other kids in the village.

"Your lessons start later today boy, have some fun in the meantime," With that, the older Yasei retreated into their quarters, unaware that they had essentially killed any hope that their son had of having fun again.

B.O.S.E.C. Heard the thoughts, felt the thoughts...no. It was one with the thoughts. A smile stretched abnormally across it’s face.

“͢S͢o Bę i͏t̶..̛.”̀

B.O.S.E.C. Took a talon and placed it on Seiun’s head as he was going toward his public humiliation. In a flash, reality gave way. The sky and ground unraveled like strings, giving way to a new set of scenery. Ghastly blue smoke filled the air, Darkness filling the void that was left from reality.

“̸Yo̢u͠r ̡mind͏ ̧i̡s̷ ́s҉o ten͏s̶e.͡.̡.̕so͟ ̛many ̶though͟t̵s͟.̡ C̢l͟u̶t̸t̛er.̴ ̶W̵h̡at ͝is̨ ̕thi͞s?̕”̶

Seiun’s thoughts had began to take form, Ame’s infustructure shaping up from the pools of blue smoke. A house. Inside the house was a far younge Seiun, alongside two older figures. His parents. B.O.S.E.C. Examined this, it’s ghastly figure flowing freely with the smoke in contrast to how it glitchely moved in real life.

“No no, that’s fine.” Kai said, assuring Tsuki. “I am always open to help family. What is it you wanted to...talk about?”

It was odd. Tsuki being in his room for the first time. In fact, he never even saw Tsuki inside the primary Yuki compound before. It was a peculiarity that stood out in the young Yuki’s mind. He wondered what brought her all the way here to seek him out. Was something on her mind? He had to be delicate, precise, finding the root of the issue without raising any alarms.

“Did someone die?”

Poetry in motion.

Tsuki
Recognizing the invitation, the Yuki stepped into her family member's room with an uneasy weight about her. In truth, being in anyone's room that wasn't hers was odd, almost as if she had no business here, even though if she didnt, Kai would've kicked her out.

“Did someone die?”

The question was as if someone took a brick off the street and threw it directly at Tsuki. She did not expect such directness from the Yuki prince, yet she fpund it oddly comforting. She brushed her hair back with her hand while looking away from Kai.

"Not recently...but yes,"

“...Oh.”

Seems as though the strategy has hit a flaw. An actual death. Even so, it could be the reason why she came here. Hm. Better tread lightly. I don’t know who died or how close it was. Respect is crucial.

“My deepest apologies, is that what you’ve come to discuss?”

In truth, Tsuki being out and about amongst the gloomy day post Damos was somewhat easing. He was used to children playing in the streets, couples laughing, and lots of joyous noise around. He hadn’t seen many humans around at all. Maybe THAT was what she came to talk about? Who was he to say.

Amari
Amari had decided she had explored the city enough for one day. She stopped by the blacksmith she had left the details of Sagisō and sure enough the gift was completed. Amari had picked up a pack to keep ninja tools in while she was exploring the city, and decided to keep the present in said tool belt to make sure her sister would not see it until tomorrow. She decided she wanted to relax for a bit and started to head back towards the Hyuga manor and towards the bathhouse.

On her way to the bathhouse, Amari walked passed the Hyuga training grounds. She was surprised to see Sagisō and a few others there, most of which she did not recognize. Two of the three others she believed she had seen before, possibly from the incident from the day before, but the other one was most certainly a new face. She didn't care much for the others, but she had barely spoken to Sagisō since she and her sister had united, and quite frankly she wanted to talk to her, especially after the tragedy that had happened to her hair just this morning. She walked over to the group. "So what are you ladies talking about this fine afternoon?"

Nadeshiko
The Fierce Star once again ignored the brother and walked with her group of Nadeshiko and Kumo-nin. The Fierce Star didn't want to waste time with small talk on the way there, so the walk was mostly in silence. They soon arrived at the Raikage's office. Knowing that it would not go well if she just burst the door to the Raikage's office open and started demanding the request be fulfilled, she made a slight gesture signal for the Kumo kunoichi to open the door.

Sagisō

The familiar voice of a newcomer soothed Sagisō into a temporary relaxation. Her attention shifted, as it often did, onto the new person on interest who entered her vicinity.

"Oh. Shaqing, you're back. How was it? Where'd you go?"

Noting Amari's return, Sagisō fed her curiosity, allowing it to spout a slow barrage of questions. Taking a laxer stance, she let her weight fall onto her back leg, her hips tilting slightly as her hands rose into a casual fold.

"Had fun?"

Amari
Amari was slightly caught off guard by the barrage of questions, but was happy that Sagisō was curious as to where she has been since before this, she wasn't even sure if Sagisō had noticed she had left in the first place. "Oh I had just wanted to go out and explore Konoha for a little while. It's a nice place with some nice shops. I found just about everything I was looking for, even-" She stopped herself before she had told Sagisō what she had gotten her for the winter festival.
"Anyway, I'm rambling slightly. I haven't even stopped to ask how you are doing after what happened with that Hyuga buy you were sparring with this morning."

Sagisō

"Well..."

The skillful star raised her hands, dabbing tenderly at the bruises on her face. They still troubled her, each prod of her fingers firing off dull echoes of pain.

"it's not too bad, but I guess I'll have it looked at soon. It could get...unsightly."

A small grimace rose on her lips. She certainly didn't want to leave any lasting marks on her face, after all, she took pretty meticulous care of her skin and body. Even with the number of fights she'd put herself through, they'd hardly left a mark on her body. It was her fastidious care for her appearance that left her so enraged when Shura aimed for her face. She certainly didn't run around caving his face in, now did she?

Rakū

The light patter of steps across wooden boardwalks; a rhythm of soft yet enthusiastic breathing. The emitter of these sounds made short work of the distance between herself and the cluster of boys. She wasn't heading towards them, they were simply along her path. As one of the Hyūga's medical kunoichi in training, it was only natural that Rakūsupā would see herself the first to arrive after a spar had been done. Making use of the opportunity to touch-up on her skills and practical experience.

That being said her true targets were Sagisō & Tayuya, however, as she rounded the corner her trained eyes immediately noticed the signs of a scuffle on Taiyo's person. Immediately, the girl switched into diagnosis mode, her Byakugan scanning over the leaf shinobi's body in a way quite unlike the average medical shinobi.

"Ah...you're hurt..."

Her voice was a delicate quiver, though her eyes contained a focused edge. She began to assess the situation in-depth, attempting to formulate a response to the diagnostics her eyes had given her.

"Yeah I suppose that is fair enough. Would be out of character for her to do that." Kuro had to concede, as Tomiko had always been one about a fair playing field after all so the idea she'd try to exploit her position was silly enough to not even pay much attention to. "And I am sure your boy will grow up to be a fine shinobi in his own right, one to make the both of you proud."

Atsuko herself kept quiet as Kasumi gave her scathing overview of the Uchiha. That period had been a tough time for all of them, as it was never encouraging to receive notes from your baby girl in the hospital but Tomiko never seemed to place blame on this Kiro's shoulders. Rather she blamed herself and how weak she was that she ended up in such a state; one of the few times Tomiko's seemingly unshakable confidence and self believe appeared to be shattered. Which was almost as disturbing as the injuries themselves had been. Though she could not but help but agree with her judgement as she always felt that the exams seemed to be a bit grim for what was essentially just a promotional trial. Still she quickly shifted focus to Kasumi's offer. "Seals? What kind of seals?" Atsuko asked curious what the Jonin had in mind when it concerned Tomiko's sleeved gauntlets.

Naomi however, had not missed the slip and once more Mr. Snugglebottom masked her sly if not almost evil grin. Oh yes, this night was all the validation she needed about her thoughts of this Mr. Mori not she could begin to mull over how to use it.

"Well my name is..." Jirou began to say before Hoshi leapt up and decided to speak up cutting off Jirou much to her own annoyance.

"My name is Hoshi, I like a good old adventure and wage a constant war against boredom! I hate anything that could be dull, and I don't have a dream but I do desire to travel and explore beyond these village walls!" Hoshi said as he sat back down from his bubbly introduction as Jirou cast a side glare before she sighed and stood to give her own introduction.

"My name is Jirou, now that I can get an intro off without interruption, and I enjoy my fair share of literature and the arts and one day hope to publish my own series. I try to keep some semblance of order within this group but as you can already guess it seems like a losing effort." Jirou said with a smile.

"Other words she is the buzzkill. If you like fun she is your enemy."

"And if you value sanity at any level, he is yours."

Seemed Jirou and Hoshi had a fire and ice dynamic to say the least, though naturally Naomi giggled as she decided to go next.

"My name is Naomi, and this is my best friend Mr. Snugglebottom. Well best friend along with you guys of course. I just want everyone to be happy and I enjoy cute and things I can just glomp all day long. One day I want to be big and strong like my brother and Tomiko!" Naomi said with a cheerful grin as it just so happened the two walked back over to them as she turned to Ren to give his own introduction who seemed to almost have a somewhat subtle reluctant gaze.

"My name is Ren. Naomi is my little sister and I do some work at a local blacksmith." Ren explained, as he left it at that and that alone as he seemed unwilling to share much more which caused Naomi to frown though the twins were eager to pick it up.

"My name is Mio!"

"And I am Miu!"

"And we are the terrific twins of these slums." Miu and Mio said as the twins gave a rather flashy introduction; moving back to back as they struck a pose before Mori; seemed they were one for the eccentric flair.

"We are two halves of one hall, I like to see how I can use my creative juices to brighten my day!" Mio explained before Miu picked up right after.

"And I like to scan the area and see how I can tinker with what I can find!" Miu added as it seemed she had a more analytical approach to things even if both shared the same passion. Which speaking of that...

"And we both love pulling pranks! One day we will be the best road show in all of Iwa!" Both declared with pride and matching cheeky grins as they finished the roll call.

---------
As the "flock flew", they were able to tail Rika below with as the girl checked around her in constant; as if to see if anyone on ground level was following her or not. Whatever fueled her paranoia she moved with cautious steps as Kenji only seemed more curious as she moved in and out of allies and behind buildings till she got to what seemed like an isolated spot under a lone tree just on the outskirts of the village.

And she stood there in silence, checking around for someone though this time her expression if what Kenji could see form his height was to be trusted seemed not concerned but almost looking for something. As if she was waiting for something, or someone...

-----
Samui made no commentary and an ice-cold glare to her brother kept Atsui's mouth shut; much to her own relief, as the kunoichi glanced at the guards who each gave a nod before she opened the door as Ay sat behind his desk; he wanted to finish this matter in a hurry so he had already made preparations once word of the new arrivals came to his attention.

"I presume you've come here for your claimed items?" Ay asked the Nadeshiko kunoichi as they were led inside.

---------
Tayuya had prepared herself for whatever verbal or physical objection to her stance came from these Hyuga. The key word there being these Hyuga as the arrival of Shiho had caught Tayuya off guard as she was just a step too slow to react as the latter suddenly dropped down behind her as she wrapped around her neck. Course her sharp hearing alerted her to the presence as Tayuya had herself prepared for the worst as Tayuya at first thought it was an assassination attempt only to discover that Shiho was laying a "truth bomb" while she brushed her hair and had her hands on her body.

Tayuya began to wish it had been an assassination attempt.

Tayuya scowled, her ears flinching as Shiho shouted her reasons for being here due to protective bubbles to combat her Sound-based techniques. An odd method but she could not dismiss its effectiveness though in part due to a lack of chance to tests its limits. Tayuya merely had a scowl and faintest of blushes as she glanced back at Shiho. And given she needed to speak loudly to be heard...

"OKAY FIRST OFF IF YOU WANT ME TO BE SWAYED BY SHIT THEN YOU WILL GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME! IS THAT LOUD ENOUGH FOR YOU!" Tayuya yelled, her mouth spoke her venomous shout right by Shiho's ear to ensure she got the message loud and clear.

Though this approved to just be a distraction, as her real goal was a sudden but swift back kick extended between Shiho's legs. If the Hyuga Head wanted her to get upset at this she would gladly accept trivial penalty.

-----------
The attention of this little set up was brought to the ears of Sakura, Tenichi and Ayame as it seemed that some festive-themed items and displays had began to be set up all around them. It had not taken Sakura long to realize what this meant as she quickly turned to Kou.

"Oh, the Winter Festival. Work is being done to prepare for the annual event tomorrow, it is probably the best day of the year." Sakura said with a smile to Kou as she had many fond memories over the years with this event and she figured this would be no different.

Though, with Kou and recent events, that probably wasn't the total truth.

Amari
"Well, I know they will go away soon. The bruises aren't even that big so I doubt anyone will really notice. Besides, you still look as beautiful as ever even with them."
Amari realized what she had said only after saying it. She started kicking herself when she realized and started to regret it instantly. Why would you say something like that, it's like you're begging for her to find out. Maybe that will blow over and she won't even notice. Maybe-
Her thought was cut off by the loud screaming that occurred from one of the girls that was with Sagisō at the kaiju battle the day before. "Umm Yizhen would you mind explaining exactly what has gotten into your... friend here?

Sagisō

"Thanks!"

Accepting the compliment, but still a bit skeptical, Sagisō took the opportunity to whisk a kunai from her storage seal. She used the blade a mirror, holding it level with her face, angling it back and forth so she could inspect different parts of herself. The bruises did give her face a scrappy chic, which, when framed by her now much shorter hair, made her appearance on a whole seem plucky. Factor in her gleaming eyes, the reddish hue of which seemed to teem with aggression with no conscious effort, and she was no longer plucky, but ramboesque.

Well...almost. Her remaining hand casually cupped a breast, noting that they were a hard-line factor that prevented her from ever straying too far on the spectrum of boyishness.

Flicking her wrist, Sagisō deftly returned the kunai to its holding, which she shifted her attention towards Amari's second question.

"Oh, who knows. Little Koshō's always screaming about one thing or another, that's just how she is. That's why I nicknamed her little pepper."

Shrugging, Sagisō only provider cursory flicks of recognition to the on-going scuffled between Tayuya and Shiho.

"We're heading to the bath to get cleaned up. Wanna come?"

"He certainly has the capability to do so, but I am not worried about that. As long as he stays happy and true to himself, then I am happy. I doubt he knows how lucky he is to have both parents and Tomiko in his life, but I know for sure that he will support her when she's feeling down. We can take care of ourselves." Iwao looked at his son and reminisced about the youth of Mori, when his son tried to copy his parents during dinner and made a huge mess. Neither Kasumi or Iwao minded it though, and congratulated their son through fits of laughter. A twinge of sadness coursed through his body, when was the last time that they ate together at home, when was the last time they spent an evening together, when was the last time they were a family? He made mistakes, but Mori seemed to be happy despite the mistakes quite literally scarring him. He couldn't go back in time and stop those mistakes from happening, but he could do his best to prevent them from happening again. He was not just going to be a father for Mori anymore, he was going to be a dad.

"Storage seals, nothing too fancy but incredibly versatile. I plan on storing tekko-kagi claws in them, so when she activates the seals her gauntles will get claws kept together by an iron band wrapped around her hands. This way she can not only catch swords and increase her attacking range by a few centimeters, but she can also use them to scale most surfaces. After activating the seals, she can seal the claws again and use her gauntles as usual." Kasumi explained to the baker, hoping that she would see the benefit of increased offense and defense. Another, more hidden reason behind the choice of modification she wanted to add was the origin of the Uchiha. Kiri was huge on kenjutsu as almost any ninja knows, so a way to block a village's most prominent way of attacking would be a moral victory for Kasumi and hopefully for Tomiko as well.

Mori snorted at the exchange between Jirou and Hoshi, seeing a parallel between them and him and Tomiko. "Jirou, you want to publish your own series one day right? Ever thought about following a creative writing class at the community center? You can join for free and it will be great practice. Hoshi, if you want to see something of the world, why not tag along with Miu and Mio? A road show will not only allow you to see new things alongside your friends, but it might also allow you to find things that you previously considered boring that in reality might be incredibly fun. And there is a balance to be found between sanity and fun, although Tomiko tends to push more to the fun side which causes my sanity to be strained." He said with a big grin. He enjoyed hearing the dreams of everyone here, and why wouldn't he support them? If anything, this could only further their careers and better their lives.

"Naomi, if you want to get strong, you need to train. Maybe you can get Tomiko or Ren to make a training schedule with you, who knows? If you train dilligently, you might even beat your brother one day." He flashed a grin at the young girl before turning to said brother. "You work at a blacksmith huh? That explains why you're physically stronger than the rest of the group. I might visit that blacksmith one day and order something, see how good the quality of its wares are."

"Miu and Mio, you sure are an energetic and unique bunch. A road show is certainly an unique dream, but I might know someone who can help teach you some fun tricks. And creativity and an analytic eye can get you far, not just in the business but also in life. I don't know when the person I know is free, but when I do I'll be sure to tell you." Even though Mori was smiling, he wasn't exactly sure about his plan. Just because he made a good impression on Absurd didn't mean that he trusted the jester. He'd have to make very clear that he wasn't allowed to pull any stunts on them. But he'd have to find that clown first, and he had no idea where he was. Maybe King Mori knew, he had to redeem himself anyways.
---------
Taji noted how often Rika looked back, even she didn't do that and she was on edge a lot of the time. "What's going on with her? She's more on edge than most people visiting the dentist who also happened to be the Raikage. Something must have happened in that office." She went down and landed on a nearby roof to get a better look. Their target seemed to have calmed down, but seemed to be looking for something or someone. But she could only guess who or what she was looking for.

‘Regular fireball? Either Zaku is physically weak or Taiyo really has some explosive firepower.’

Though Taiyo laughed if off, Kiro believed Zaku was too capable of a shinobi to allow a measly fireball to take him down. The damage Zaku had sustained was a bit of an overkill should that have been the case. Judging by the fireball Taiyo aimed to blast Sagisō with earlier, the latter theory seemed much more plausible. It was concerning until he heard the rest of what the generous FBS master had to say.

“Oh. You must be talking about the boy with him. I guess that is a valid reason...“

Kiro said this as he seemed to nod in understanding. His focus, however, continued to remain on the path ahead of them. This allowed him to notice the little devilish child who had now set them in her crosshairs. More specifically, Taiyo would be the victim this time. Rakū analyzed the FBS master like he was a subject in a lab. It was only a matter of time before she sunk her precious little fangs into him.

“Stay steady Taiyo. She won’t hurt you...”

His slightly unnerved expression dissipated as he instead tried to reassure Taiyo. After all, though his past experiences with Rakū were quite troublesome, Kiro did know she was just trying to help.

Amari
"Koshō huh? Quite a fitting name for someone with a temper like that." She said this while still trying to shrug off her slight embarrassment from earlier. She was happy that Sagisō didn't seem to pick up on the true meaning behind her words, but just took it as a compliment plain and simple. The scuffle involving Sagisō's "Little Koshō" helped to draw attention away from it luckily. Then Sagisō said something Amari was not expecting...
"We're heading to the bath to get cleaned up. Wanna come?"

Amari didn't love the idea of bathing with people she didn't know, heck she barely wanted to bathe with anyone she did know. She was not the most outgoing of the stars of Nadeshiko, but the request just happened to be coming from one star in particular...
"Well normally I wouldn't really love that idea, but I just happened to be going to the bathhouse myself when I noticed you over here, so I guess it wouldn't hurt to go with you."

Nadeshiko
The Fierce Star of Nadeshiko appreciated how the Raikage cut to the chase, as she was just as eager to get this over with as he was. "That is correct, we will depart just as soon as you hand us the items promised to the Lady Mizukage. We have no intention of sticking around any longer than need be."

Sagisō

A raised eyebrow belied Sagisō's surprise, Amari wasn't the solitary star for nothing, she almost never agreed to these kinds of meetings.

"I guess a change of scenery really can lead to a change of heart..."

The addition of Amari increased the gaggle of girls to feather-some foursome, albeit one of these birds of feather didn't want to flock together. Not that it could be avoided. Returning her attention to the exchange between Tayuya and Shiho, Sagisō called out with just enough strength to be heard over their shouting.

"Oi! We don't have all day you know!? We need to leave before the hour!"

Taiyo
“Oh. You must be talking about the boy with him. I guess that is a valid reason...“

The voice caught the FBS master off guard; he unveiled a blade from his wrist to strike the source of the voice only to find...a little kid.

What the..?

Taiyo watched this girl who could be no older than Susei observe him as if he was a sample of bacteria under a microscope.

“Stay steady Taiyo. She won’t hurt you...”

This statement from Kiro, though attempting to be reassuring, only added to the Leaf-nin's confusion.

"Sorry I dont mean to sound rude but..."

Taiyo backed away from Raku nervously, almost as if she was going to grow fangs and turn him into a vampire

Who the fuck are you
"Who are you?"
Tsuki

“My deepest apologies, is that what you’ve come to discuss?”

The Yuki-nin gave her prince a warm but sad smile for his concern, considering what she was going to say next.

"Not entirely, but my parents possibly dying does have something to do with what I wanted to talk about,"

She tried to fight the tears that were swelling in her face after she mentioned her parents, but it was painfully obvious she was failing.

Rakūsupā

Ah!

The girl stopped in her tracks, breaking into a small fluster. Where were her manners!? Lady Hina would scold her...

She bowed thrice, each overexaggerated movement whipping her pigtails about her face. Despite the submissive tone of her voice, she still managed to introduce herself crisply and clearly.

"Um...I'm Rakūsupā Hyūga, I'm a medic from the Vermillion Bird Faction."

Dainty fingers bunched at the fabric of her Yukata, newly designed to fit the season. Dark green fabric formed the base, while white fluffed trimmings decorated the cuffs and edges. Cute gleaming ornaments dotted her sleeves and the flair of her skirt, a few golden bells included among them. They had rung ferociously at her repeated bows, but now they'd settled into soothing chime, almost precocious in its tune.

"Ummm...if you use your chakra so recklessly you'll send yourself to the infirmary."

She was well aware that such violent and abrupt consumption of chakra had dire consequences on the body, and usually left the person in question bed-ridden and in some cases permanently crippled. She didn't need to be present at the scene to have pieced together what Taiyo had done, she read him like a book.

The veins of his chakra network showed faint signs of strain; a lot of chakra had clearly passed through them in a short period of time. The tinge of the veins and the vestiges of chakra that swirled through them revealed his chakra nature. Fire Nature; an element thought to be beyond the grasp of genin due to its high chakra consumption. And yet this was only the surface...the most recent damage.

She could see, below that, even further signs of damage. Most concerning of which were the explosive ends of his chakra network where his arms transitioned from flesh and blood to curated wood. At a glance, she understood...

"You're a very reckless person, mister..."

Taiyo
Seeing the young Hyuga bow thrice was an amusing experience. When he heard the youngling introduce herself as Rakusupa, it brought a cheerful smile to Taiyo's face.

"Nice to meetcha, I'm Taiyo Akugami, not from any major house though," He sounded playfully embarrassed at his lackluster lineage, despite in reality loving it. As Raku continued her observation, she felt compelled to note Taiyo's chakra usage, which the Leaf-nin responded to via a warm laugh. It wasnt intended to mock, rather it was his own way of saying "Yeah...my bad,".

"You're a very reckless person, mister..."

"Mister" was a title the FBS master was unfamiliar with. On one hand, it made him feel proud, but on the other hand, he felt the title was unessessary.

"Hm your telling me. I passed out of blood loss, and I was lucky that a kind girl happened to be willing to give some blood. Not ot mention I almost blew myself up, so yeah, reckless would be a word to describe myself," His tone shifted into a more somber one after his first sentence, hoping that Raku knew he took what she was saying seriously.

"You have a solution in mind for my 'recklessness'?"

“Oh, the Winter Festival. Work is being done to prepare for the annual event tomorrow, it is probably the best day of the year." Sakura said with a smile to Kou.

“The winter festival...I heard of that....” Kou remarked. “I’ve always heard the people talking about how good the food was, oh happy everyone was. I never got to see it myself though...security was too tight to ever get close.”

In theory, it was a orphan’s paradise. Lots of food, lights, dancing, gifts, music. A fun time for everyone. Thing is, it wasn’t available for everyone. Given that he didn’t exactly look like a stand up kind of kid made things impossible for it, so he never actually laid eyes on many decorations

.......

Kai noticed the small movements in Tsuki’s cheeks. Twitches, quivers. He, as a hunter-nin’s job was to analyze any little detail that can get your advantage. These details...they gave off a aura of sorrow, perhaps guilt or remorse? He was spotty with identifying emotions. Regardless, he was concerned.

“...Possibly...dying?”

Kai shook his head, clearing his thoughts. What am I doing? Don’t freeze up. Freezing in the battlefield is death, so dont freeze here! Kai scooted to the left of his bed and cleared his throat.

“Here, take a seat. We can talk about it- that is, if you feel like you can.”

Rakūsupā

Her confusion was punctuated by a tilt of her head. Although she could point out the egregious amounts of stress Taiyo had put his body through with his reckless chakra manipulation, her solution was simply 'get better'. Though she couldn't quite direct him on how to do that.

"Umm...you're friends with the young Lady, right? She's good at chakra control. Maybe you should ask her to teach you?"

Raku understood, however, that Taiyo would need more than just shape transformation. He would also need a degree of natural transformation. Since his chakra nature was fire then...

"And maybe you should have him teach you fire?"

She pointed towards Kiro, knowing he was an Uchiha renown for this skill with flames.

"Support goes both ways..." Kuro explained with a smile as he seemed to catch the glimmer of regert over something. Kuro had no way to know what, but the life of a ninja likely meant you didn't spend as much time with loved ones as you would like; given he worked his hours both he and Atsuko knew what that felt like, though it likely was greater strain for a ninja. Irregardless he tried to show some support and offer encouragement. "...and I think you find the support your own children give you is as strong as any there is. Believe me Mori has grown to be a fine young man that is all the validation you and your wife need on the job you have done."

"I see, well all of that does sound incredible helpful and I am sure it would come in quite handy for Tomiko. Though you will have to run it through her, as she is quite prideful on accepting free aid; would rather work to earn something like that rather than it just being given to her. But I am sure you can talk with her over it no issues." Atsuko said with a smile as she offered that little expected condition she'd have to meet if Tomiko was gonna get these seals.

"Well....getting to community center on foot isn't easy, a-and I tend to worry what other people will think..." Jirou confessed, as her voice dropped lower a bit as being a resident of the slums she had been concerned with how others in such a center would think of her. Hoshi backed his usual teases as he seemed to scoff on that concern.

"Bah, who cares what they think. Your an egg head you'll publish stuff way better than any of them." Hoshi said, as he tried not to seem too "mushy" but seemed to believe in Jirou's talent enough. She herself blinked at this, stunned for a moment before she shook her head with an amused grin. "Thanks..."

As for Hoshi, he heard the suggestion to tag with Miu and Mio, he thought it over. They'd be a traveling group so it seemed their goals overlapped, though Hoshi himself was not much of a "performer" in his view. Still though it seemed worth a shot as he moved over to the twins. "Would you be considered me joining your future road sure?"

"Sure~!" Miu smiled as she figured another hand could only add to their quality. Besides, would help decide who took on the role of slapstick volunteer but that wasn't important to mention yet.

"Yeah, and Mori this guy you know that good?" Mio asked already intrigued by this though Tomiko herself began to think over options as her face paled only slightly. He couldn't have meant him could he?

"Yeah, my brother said I was too young to train for the longest time buuuttt now I am just old enough to start! I don't know if I can be as strong as Tomiko or big bro but I will do my best!" Naomi said with pride, even having her Mr. Snugglebottom do a cheer with both its arms raised. Tomiko overheard that and had a sly smirk.

"What that isn't the mindset of someone who wants to be strong. Shoot for the stars! Try to jump me and your brother. Shoot to be the best, if you make that your goal there is no limit to your ceiling!" Tomiko said with fire as she encouraged Naomi the only way she knew how while Ren had mostly been quiet; merely giving a nod to the comments Mori with a quick mention of "we'd welcome your visit anytime" but nothing more. Naomi felt inspired by Tomiko's call and raised a hand in the air.

"Yes, I will do my best! For my brother, you, the crew...and Mori. Everyone!"

Ay merely nodded along, as he made a gesture and one of his attendents passed along a single scroll that he presented to the Nadeshiko Kunoichi. "Your compensation for your services. I trust you will find everything you seek within it." Ay explained to the kunoichi as if he was fortunate this meeting would wrap up here and he could proceed with other matters.

"I have no idea...." Kenji said as he spoke with the faintest of whispers before the bird Aisha sniffed the air as she gave a non-verbal signal to the pair...or tried to with her wing but given they had been birds on the islands mission it would come clear soon enough.

Somebody else was coming.

Rika scanned the area around her, till her eyes rested on what to the trio observing in secret would know as a familiar face. Darui. The right hand of the Raikage seemed to have come alone as he walked up to the clearly nervous Rika with his hands in his pockets; the same indifferent attitude even if what he had come here for had been of the upmost seriousness.

"Were you followed?" Kenji asked, as Rika quickly nodded her head no as Kenji scanned all along the area to see what else was there. Kenji and his allies moved to hide their position even as they posed as normal birds. But whether the ruse was known or not Darui seemed to reach for his pocket anyway as he pulled out a little whistle.

One he blew, which would produce an inaudible sound to humans. But to animals? It would produce this intense screeching sound that pierced the eardrums and naturally made one desire to move from it. It was usually done to remove any nearby animals in the area so they wouldn't be around for what they came next but the transformed ninja felt the effect as Kenji, Aisha and her compansions collapsed in intense agony.

After a minute, Darui creased, and quickly turned to the tree that Rika stood by as she moved aside. While Kenji and the others unknowingly lied in pain from the sound Kenji made several hands signs and silently echoed a "release" as before long a doorway along the ground opened up revealing underground stairs. Staris that were marked with seals, perhaps a means to help obsecure their presence when not in use as Kenji turned to Rika and motioned for her to go; scanning the area around them as Rika began to walk but just as her foot touched the first steps....she hesitated. Rika seemed to shake slightly in place as this hesitation was not lost on the Jonin.

"Problem?" Darui asked, as he'd rather get through this quickly though in the back of his mind knew why she may have been relucant to enter. Rika was unsure what to say, that was before the words of her mother echoed in her head.

Remember Rika, you carry the will of the Yuriko family on your shoulders! You cannot let our family name or the village down if the time comes for you to answer that call!

"N-no sir..." Rika mumbled quickly, before she slowly walked down as Darui quickly followed and the steps closed behind them which left flat ground that seemed undisturbed as if nothing was there at all.

Sakura frowned at this, Kou was by no means someone she had been the most close to like say Ino but still to hear the kid was excluded was a bit disheartening.

"Oh hey Sakura, didn't know you were coming to Ichika...wait the kid?"

Sakura's head turned to the sound of her friend Ino, who seemed to have returned from a mission of her own as she scanned the pair. Ino couldn't remember the name but she did recall this kid during the invasion, what was he doing here now? Shouldn't he be in the Sound or whatever?

Sakura sensed this confusion and worked to explain as Ino walked by her; whispering what details she could share in an almost silent whisper as Ino gave a nod. A lot to take in, but not overly complicated as Ino glanced down at the kid who looked longingly at the festival.

"So...you want to go to it?" Ino asked simply enough to Kou.

Yasu

"Madoka..?"

Yasu turned around slowly, beads of sweat still dripping down his brow. He wasn't surprised to see Madoka, she was about the only friend he had around here anyway. He released a signature sigh, blowing off some fatigue. A single feather dart twirled about his fingers, minor entertainment as he delved into the conversation.

"Did you need something from me?"

It was honestly a bit funny to hear the child rightfully call out Taiyo on his putrid chakra control. Obviously, being the prodigious medical ninja of the Hyūga, Rakū knew what she was talking about. If the FBS master really used all his chakra in two quick bursts, then it was a safe bet he was still learning how to actually use the fire in a conservative manner. Something which Kiro and a certain someone was decent at. Of course, he made sure not to show any unnatural hesitation with his generous act.

“Yeah I could help you with that Taiyo, but let’s not forget Raiku over here. He’s able to control his fire pretty well actually. However, there’s some stuff he can be better at. Training together would definitely be a good option since you both can push each other.”

Kiro took a lighthearted jab at the Uchiha who stood quietly beside them as he gave his opinion. Though Raiku hadn’t said much, Kiro was certain he had been listening intently to their conversation. During their battle a few days ago, Raiku and Kiro had all but set the entire training field on fire. Kiro specifically remembered having to stop the fires himself to avoid being placed in that prison again. Needless to say, he had first hand experience with the fiery warrior behind the mask.

Flashback

Sagisō wasted no time throwing a barrage of details his way. The foundation of the village was centered around a total of 108 stars. Whether that was the total amount of villagers or just their military force Kiro did not know. Each of them had their own array of titles assigned to their names.

The ranks seemed to consist of both the 36 Heavenly Stars and 72 Earthly Stars. That would mean Sagisō was supposedly the lowest ranked Heavenly Star. But were the ranks based on skill or did the numbers mean something else? Either way, that was only one small part in regards to her complete name.

Adding on to the complexity, her star’s name was the Skillful Star. However, it was actually the Heavenly Skillful Star. Did that mean there was also an Earthly Skillful Star? What exactly was the difference between Earthly and Heavenly Stars? And, of course, out of all the stars, Sagisō had the one titled Skillful.

‘Why am I not surprised?’

However, there was more! Her star was actually associated with the Wanderer title. That left Kiro to wonder if the stars were actually meant for only those who matched their themes. There had to be a reason why they had a specific Star. It made no sense otherwise to have such detailed names.

Deep in thought, Kiro continued to gaze silently in the direction of Sagisō’s voice. A wanderer was someone who lacked purpose. One who continued forward without a clear direction. The Uchiha slightly tilted his head towards the steel bars of the cell that kept him locked up. Perhaps moving aimlessly was better than not being able to move forward at all.

Kiro gently shook his head, pushing that thought to the side, as he went on ahead to the next two important parts. The courtesy name kept the base of the title Yan from the inherited name Yan Qing. It was a title that had been passed down for generations seemingly out of respect. As long as Nadeshiko thrived, so would the names of their predecessors.

Those names also gave them some sort of certification. A coming of age name as Sagisō put it. She compared the process to the Hyūga’s rite of passage. A challenge that forced those seeking to be recognized as a fully fledged Hyūga to their absolute limits. The closest experience Kiro had to this was a certain test he preferred not to recall at the moment.

Lastly, Sagisō told Kiro her real name just as she had done prior to their duel. Ajisai, the flower Hydrangea, which meant pride. Then Sagisō, the elegant White Egret Orchid, meaning… he did not yet know.

There was a subtle shift in her tone that Kiro could not help but notice when she spoke of nurturing the next generation. Sagisō’s voice gradually grew softer until eventually settling into an unusual silence after the daughter of her mentor was mentioned. Preferably, a Nadeshiko would groom their own daughter to succeed them. No further words had to be said for him to accurately guess what had transpired. It was clear who attained the role of Skillful Star after all.

For a moment, both of them seemed content to keep the wound open as it slowly bled quietness. Kiro just gazed aimlessly at the dark steel bars which held him captive. There was just enough space between each bar to look outside the cell. Unfortunately, the view was rather dismal due to the dim lighting in the prison. Having a mere glimpse of a dreary hallway wall wasn’t exactly a mystifying scenery. It was a contrast to the open, lavish area on the outside. But then again, even that was an illusion of freedom for the prisoner.

Blinking only once, Kiro gave a subtle glance in the direction of his fellow inmate only to conclude that Sagisō had subverted the expectations he had of her. Though this Skillful Star had spoken enough, there was still clearly more that could be said. Yet she seemed to hesitate.

‘Could she be…?’

As if to instantly deny the idea before it could formulate, Kiro refocused his eyes back towards the bars. He didn’t need to see or hear Sagisō to feel the sepulchral ambience that seemed to spread pervasively from her cell into his. This was a distinct aura that heavily contrasted her usual chirpy disposition. Clearly she was troubled by the daughter.

It would make sense if both Sagisō and the daughter competed for the title. A rivalry between sisters maybe? The daughter and Sagisō should’ve had a sisterly relationship due to both being basically raised by the former Skillful Star. Nadeshiko seemed to be a sisterhood anyways. Then again, Sagisō’s mentor never considered her a daughter. Perhaps neither of them could accept Sagisō had gotten the title, fracturing their relationship.

The prisoner didn’t exactly know if he could relate. Well, maybe he could. It wasn’t like Kiro had any biological siblings in the first place. But that didn’t mean a brother or sister had to share the same parents. People who care for each other, support each other, and simply look after each other no matter what can be considered family. Bonds which carried those virtues ran far deeper than blood. Such was a distant memory for himself.

Of course, Sagisō was not the one who had a sister’s blood on her hands. Or did she? Kiro’s vision blurred for only a brief moment as he subconsciously looked down at his own hands. Fortunately, he knew better than to question her on what seemed like a delicate topic. Rather, he chose to question her from a different angle. Though only a mere few seconds had past, it felt like an eternity since the last time a sound was heard. Something which Kiro quickly rectified.

“Was that choice something you could not control? I can neither guess the meanings behind these names nor do I know the requirements, but I assume you were chosen as the “Skillful Star” for a reason. You have accepted that, right?”

King Mori cupped his ears to listen in on what Mori was saying about the masked Jester. A grin crossed it’s face, waiting for some kind of cue. Of course, this cue never quite came. Spiderwebs instantly sprang up inside the card, covering the parody of Mori, as if it had to wait far longer.

The figure once known as Jako lie suspended, covered in cloth with writing all over it, glowing like seals. Several medical ninja surrounded him, carefully applying several mystery agents and experimental justu on the mass. Wires and coils kept him suspended while an extra layer of sealing around the entire cell was being prepared. The head of the Yuki, Jin, watched the procedure, squinting as something felt wrong about this, even if it was from a suicide. One of the medical ninja, Hama approached him.

“Jin? Are you okay?” Hama spoke

“...I just...cant believe it.” Jin shook his head, looking down. “It feels as if we are following the Hü’s example, playing god in a world where fools walk toward damnation.”

“A tad dramatic don’t you think?” Hama mused. “It’s just science. By like there’s any real Hü justu in the workings. Just their science.”

“Regardless. It feels wrong. I don’t want this to stain the Yuki name like It did for them.” Kin clenched his fists.” “...So how is it progressing?”

“It’s going as well as planned, all things co considered. We are ready to bring in the blood.”

“The blood...? What blood do you find?”

As soon as he said this, several containers were brought out on a cart, several of them marked with the family line they belonged to.

“As many as we could get it hands on sir. Yuki, Momochi, Kaguya, and other mist related clans. It is as you requested, a pure-blooded mist weapon.”

“Good. Perhaps the procedure would take with such powerful mist blood running through him.”

“Oh please, it’s an it. And you have our word. it will be known as an guardian, defender of the mist.” Hama said in a dramatic theatrical fashion. “It will be known worldwide as the strongest ninja alive. A beacon for the new generation and a inspiration to all mist ninja. We are creating our future.”

“Defender of the mist you say...in that case Hama I have a personal request.”

Iwao let a watery smile creep on his face as he faced Kuro. "Thanks, that means a lot to me. Y'see, as ninja, you often are away from home for a month or longer. When both parents are ninja, that leaves very little time in which both parents are at home. We used to alternate our jobs when Mori was younger, so that one of us was always there for him and to listen to him ramble about his day at the Academy. There were some...motivational issues, but he gratuated from the Academy and became a genin. Once he did, we decided to both work again, which left him without parents for a long time at times. I am not proud of it, but I didn't know better at the time. I was still a relatively new father and didn't know that I'd miss his growth into the young man he is today. To hear from another parent that you did a good job, that can make even the toughest of ninja struggle to keep up their mask of professionalism."

"Oh, I know a way to deal with that. I always said and will always say that the best way of learning is to do the thing, and I am pretty sure that she would not be too opposed to spar against me to show me what she can do with her gloves. I would not call myself an expert on persuasion, but I can work something out. I promise to not put your daughter in danger, of course." Kasumi grinned at Atsuko before looking at her son and her upcoming student, who both seemed to be busy in a conversation.

Mori crossed his arms. "Hmm, the transport shouldn't be too hard to find. That sled might work, though you'd need someone with Earth Style to get it to work. Maybe you could get Tomiko to bring you and pick you up at set times? As for what other people think, I wouldn't worry too much about it. The community center is open for all and if you really are that self-conscious about your appearance, I think there are some old clothes of mine back home that you can borrow if you want. Although some might not really be your size. And I can't really argue with Hoshi's argument, though the phrasing could be worked on." He let out a chuckle at the directness of Hoshi.

"Don't expect to reel him in for your road show, he is a travelling artist who works alone, though he tends to involve the public in his acts." Mori smiled sheepishly as he remembered Absurd's antics. "I managed to get onto his good side, but I am not sure if he is willing to listen to me. If he does listen, I will tell you. Fair warning ahead of time, he is quite the eyesore and can be overly dramatic. Though I will admit that his shows are quite the spectacle.

The mole genin could not resist smiling as Naomi grew more and more motivated. "I agree. Though I might not be a great role model considering my past, Tomiko fits that role like a glove. Of course, you can do things your own way and there's nothing wrong with that, but a training regime like Tomiko's should be pretty effective. Though I do not recommend cilmbing rocks that are incredibly tall, that is always a risky training as Tomiko showed me when we returned from the Chunin Exams. I still get shivers when thinking of it, she climbed up a huge rock with injured arms and I was down on the ground being scared out of my mind due to the risk of falling." He said as he reminisced about that journey and the rock pillar, on that trip Tomiko discovered he knitted and that he could help save Mr. Snugglebottom from being decapitated for all eternity. Looking at where he was now, he'd have to say that it was for the better as well.

Taji looked at the area below her, though nothing could have prepared her for Darui showing up. What is sir Darui doing here? Her mind went a million miles an hour, but her train of thought came to a screeching end when she heard something else screech even louder. She had to refrain herself from crying out in pain, so instead she covered her ears as much as possible by ruffling her feathers and holding her wings against her ears whilst staying out of sight. She was sure her hearing would be ruined forever and that her ears had to be bleeding by now, there sure was some kind of annoying ringing in her ears for a while now. If the whistle had stopped by now, she would have to listen past the ringing. Why didn't I create some kind of protection? I use some auditory genjutsu for crying out loud! Oh right, because I was caught off guard by sir Darui appearing. Way to be a good kunoichi Taji!

Raiku had a blank look on his face as he wasn't really paying too much attention to the conversation the others were having. That is, until Kiro mentioned his name. He snapped back to reality and his eyes turned to Taiyo.

"Training on fire style? Hmm... I don't think I'd be that good at teaching but if you'd like we could spar using only fire-style and then you can compare your techniques with mine. Maybe that could help... or something. I don't really know but I don't mind helping if I can."

Seiun-Flashback

Later that same day

As usual for him, Seiun found himself playing with his toys in his room, but unlike all the times past, this brought no joy to him. Every day he was looking forward to interacting with the rest of Ame for more than just a few moments per day. Because of this, he began to feel cheated but was not given the proper time to process these emotions before the booming voice of his father called his name.

"Coming!"

To the boy's dull surprise, he found his mom discussing something with a much older man before his father came to address any possible curiosity that Seiun had about this man.

"This is Zhengjian, you remember him right?"

In truth, Seiun did have faint memories of him training his sister while he was trying to utter his first word. The older man approached him kindly, almost as if he was family himself.

"Hello young one, do you wish to begin?"

Zhengjian had seen better days. But even though his hair was greying, he still had the tenderness of a younger man when addressing his current student. Seiun almost said yes with a revitalized source of excitement, but his mother cut him off with a more firm version of her child's response.

"Very well, let us begin," He led his pupil to the training sect of the Yasei Mansion, a place that Seiun would associate with many memories both good and bad.

"For starters, try doing these hand seals"

The older man first formed his hand in a complex angle commonly called the Bird hand seal. He then transitioned into folding his hands as if he were praying with the left thumb on top. He then put his hands together sideways with his thumbs resting on his pinkies. After performing the Ram hand seal, Zhengjian then turned around and fired a yellow ball of electricity at a nearby wall, much to Seiun's fascination.

"Now it's your turn,"

Spurred on by the encouraging tone of his master, Seiun tried to replicate what he just saw. Unfortunately, due to the complexity of the first and fourth hand symbol, he couldn't fire the projectile, but a few crackles of lightning did manage to pass between Seiun's fingers.

Cool…

"Absolutely pitiful," The sour voice of his mother seemed to disagree with what her son thought, " Even your shitstain of a sister did better at your age,"

This comment didn't just take the wind out of the 7 year old's sails, it sliced them up with a lightsaber. Thankfully, Zheng was none to pleased with Mrs. Yasei's comment.

"Oh hush now dear, not everyone can successfully perform hand seals on the first try,"

"But-" Now it was her turn to be cut off

"Yes yes I've heard your 'cream of the crop' spiel many times so you can spare me,"

Looking indignant, Seiun's mother stomped off in a huff while her son was suppressing chuckles.

"Well then, I'm off to attend to more pressing matters, I will leave the two of you to your lessons," With that, Mr. Yasei exited the premise as well.

"I have a plan young one, first, I will teach you the Bird and Ram hand seals. But afterwards, I was wondering if you would be interested in having some fun…"

Seiun's eyes lit up before bowing profusely at his teacher.

"Thank you so much Zheng-sensei,"

"No need for formalities young one, just call me Zheng,"

Smiling, the boy thanked his sensei with the same sentence but this time removing the fornality. From there, the two began to learn the hand seals that troubled the boy.

Maybe this won't be so bad
