Mess in the mines of Mt. Moon

OOC: i thought the focus was on Randy because Brendan didn't answer

'oh, i see!' Lloyd said smiling once again, turning to Brendan, 'So, did you want to battle? And Randy, want to judge?' He checked back on Zangoose who was still eating.

OOC Hope no one minds me joining in)

Rafe had worked the day through, making it barely through Mt Moon with Firetail at his side. He grinned as he tossed up a pear into the air and snatched it from mid air. Firetail let out a long and exaggerated neigh as it snatched Rafe's diner from his hand and swallowed it whole. Rafe raised one eyebrow that hardly showed beneath the sunglasses perched on his head.

" Ohh how are you hungry, you been stopping to munch on something every three seconds. In fact you were the one that angered those geodudes and that dang Gravlar."

The Ponyta arched its ears back and neighed again as the pokecenter came into view. A good chance to take a breather and rest before continuing on. Rafe figured Ponyta could use it after fighting the Gravlar, even though he just hardly managed to beat it. " You know i should have caught something in there. A Clafaerie woulda been nice or that Gravlar, but no you wanted to run when that Ekans came slithering out you big coward. Its only a little snake" he murmered as he saw the people. A few fellas and a girl or two with their pokemon " Nope, no socialising for cowards" he said. Firetail only slapped him in the face as it made its way towards the group " Ohh sorry hes a little cranky today".

Growlithe had pounced on the poor sleeping Gale whom woke up with a start and made an angry noise at Growlithe but then decided it wasn't worth his time. Rei went over to Growlithe who was now pouting near Gale " You should know better by now not to wake him up, he gets extremly crank." Rei sighed. "Try playing with Seal Kitty is getting a litle worn out it looks like." Rei said glancing at Kitty whom was in all respects getting annoyed while walking around carrying Seal. Blaze kinda grunted and started sniffing around in Rei's backpack she left on the ground when she went to speak with Growlithe...

ooc: Hello everybody

(would have worked some more here earlier, but internet has been fuzzy)

Brendan considered the offer, he was rather tired. However, a short battle would not do too much harm at all. Brendan took a good look at Lloyd, trying to predict what other pokémon might be hiding under his belt. Brendan grew a habit late in his adventures to study people like this before accepting their challenges, one time, he managed to predict that a trainer he was facing had a Magneton due to a keychain on that trainer's waist. Lloyd however had no signs that gave away pokémon he possessed except the Zangoose he had out.

"I think I could go for a quick battle, why don't you name the challenge." Brendan answered when he was satisfied. Brendan stood up, preparing to go outside to battle.

'3 on 3?' he replied, eager to start 'just outside the city' Lloyd also wondered what other pokemon Brendan had apart from machop, he was clueless though, 'Randy, wanna judge?' Lloys said turning to the other trainer.

(sorry, didn't know what else to say)

(I think I do ;))

"Three on three sounds like a plan" Brendan replied,

"Randy, wanna judge?" Lloyd asked,

"Well why shouldn't I?" Randy replied with a grin (I knew you were going say that Randy)

"Then what are we waiting for?" Brendan asked as he shook Machop a bit to make sure the humanoid has not dozed off. With his friend wide awake, Brendan started towards the Southern end of Pewter. Along the way, Brendan passed Rei and her pokémon eating by the center. However, he did not want to delay the battle for a second and kept on going until he reached his destination. The moon has just appeared over to the east. Brendan then turned around to face Lloyd, his hand already urging to grab one of his pokeballs

OOC: Haha Brendan your right I was gonna say that...you should be a Psychic trainer xD

"Three on three sounds like a plan." Brendan said.

"Randy, wanna judge?" Lloyd asked.

"Well why shouldn't I?" Randy replied with a grin.

As the three of the new friends made their way outside the resturant Randy caught sight of a new trainer. He had a Ponyta following him close behind. The new trainer semmed interesting enough to chat with but Randy was too focused on the upcoming battle to introduce himself. He would wait until after the battle to possibly make a new friend. 'Hmmm towns busy today...' Randy thought.

"Ok lets get this started." Randy said with a smile.

OOC: My next couple of post will be pretty short. Mostly because I will announce who fainted, certain attacks, Etc. So yea just bear with me...xD.

Lloyd followed on, 'sure thing, shall i make a first move?' he replied, eager to get started, he slid out kabuto's pokeball from under his belt, in his mind he had already decided to use him, his newly arrived Luxio and Zangoose just to even it out a bit. He was itching to get ready.

"All right then," Brendan said, taking out a pokéball. He took a guess and decided to pick one that needed some training, Lloyd was going to get only a fraction of the experience Brendan has, and no matter who came out of Lloyds' pokéball. "Just remember that I don't hold anything back."

"Round one, begin" Randy announced, he now stood between the fighters away from the center of the field making expert referee signals with his hands. Larvitar mimicked Randy with odd precision. Nobody took notice of it through. Brendan gripped his pokéball in his left hand as Lloyd prepared to toss his into the air and release who-knows-what-pokémon. Brendan was going to do whatever it takes to finish this quickly.

'Neither do I!' came the reply.

Out of the tossed ball came a small brown shell, Kabuto even, he wondered what Brendan's pokemon could be as Zangoose fell asleep by a tree next to him.

Brendan admired the kabuto then felt like hitting himself for not expecting it, he remembered Lloyd metioning it only ten minutes ago. But at least it was two pokemon that needed training, it might work as a test on how well the trainers train their pokemon.

"Go! Duskull!" Brendan yelled, throwing the ball like a short put. It span for a meter, stopped spinning and hovered as the ball opened and the ghostly skull made another appearance for the day.

"This round shall be between Kabuto and Duskull! Begin!" Randy announced, introducing both pokemon to the stage.

"Alright Duskull! Will-o-wisp!" Brendan ordered. Once again, a blue flame appeared from Duskulls' eye. But instead of enlarging like before, it lengthened and started spiralling between Kabuto and Duskull, forming a wall of blue flames. Eventually, the flame moved at a speedy pace towards the small shell of a pokemon in a line like a snake.

'Kabuto! water gun at the flame!' Lloyd yelled as the shell reared its head and shot blue liquid at the flame, not much but just enough to stop the will-o-wisp from hitting him and hitting Duskull slightly, but not enough to cause any damage.

'Woah...' Lloyd whispered to himself, he wan't expecting it to be that good, to be honest, he was just trying the tactic out, but he didn't expect Kabuto to stop the flame.

(sorry, not much experience in role playing battles)

(me neither, I got inspiration from the 'a fateful encounter' topic. Thanks Marky and Chibi!)

Duskull kept trying to thrust the flame at Kabuto, the amount of it shrank rapidly as Kabuto extinguished what was coming at him. Eventually, Kabuto could no longer keep going and the very small amount of the flame left ran into its outer shell. Brendan wasn't aiming for that. Will-o-wisp wouldn't do anything unless it got under that shell. Out of the very small move pool Duskull had, that was one useless one he could check off.

"Duskull! Try using confuse ray!" Brendan ordered again, The eye floating inside Duskull stopped between eye sockets and a flash of mystifying light burst from both sockets and hid Kabuto inside. Brendan wasn't able to see the shell and hoped that the ray got at the eyes to confuse it enough to prevent it from using water gun again.

Before Lloyd knew it, kabuto was completely out of it, he looked like he was going to hit himself, Lloyd panicked, he decided to give Kabuto a move he couldn't mess up, 'Use harden!' Kabuto hit himself in confusion as Lloyd threw his arms up in digust, how could he mess up harden? then again, it wasn't hard, after all, kabuto's legs were only short.

'oh well, your turn!' Lloyd shouted at Brendan, knowing that next turn, he had to get an attack in.

Brendan was glad that Kabuto was neutralized, but it didn't turn onto its shell like he hoped. He would just have to try something different.

"Good so far! Now use night shade!" Brendan commanded to Duskull, the ghost responded by creating spiritual energy, the result was an illusion that made duskull look like it was in an even bigger form of itself. Duskull hurled itself towards Kabuto and as the real Duskull made contact, the illusion shattered and was sucked into Kabuto, inflicting mental pain. Not much due to Duskull being a rather weak pokemon, but enough for sufficient damage to Kabuto. Kabuto was now caught between confusion and pain. Brendan tried to attempt another attack while Kabuto was in this weak state.

"Duskull! Hypnosis!" Brendan ordered, Duskull hovered in front of Kabuto and stared into its eyes. In Kabutos' mind, Duskull's single eye was shifting colors continuously, trying to make the small pokemon drowsy. Brendan knew this was somewhat risky should Kabuto regain its senses, especially since the two were in close-quarters now.

'Kabuto! Mud shot!' Kabuto, despite its confusion and pain, threw mud at Duskull's head knocking him backwards, and as bits got into Duskull's eye, its accuracy dropped drastically and it started hypnotising a weed on the floor. Kabuto never ceased to amaze Lloyd. Kabuto started to feel the pain from earlier which he seemed to have numbed for his turn.

'Quick, Kabuto, use aqua gun!' Lloyd shouted from afar, and again, water shot out of his mouth into duskull. Kabuto had snapped out of confusion but was still in sharp pain, but Lloyd didn't really notice.

(wait, isn't mud shot a ground move and Duskull is a levitating skull? Ah well, guess close-quarters can change rules in some cases)

Brendan sighed in embarassment as Duskull hypnotized the weed, but the mud in duskulls' eye was cleared as the water pumped through. Shaking water out of its skull, Duskull focused back on Kabuto. Brendan was running out of suprises, that was for sure. And the tides of the battle were starting to turn from both attacks. Duskull needed to hit Kabuto hard if he was to keep the upper hand.

"Duskull! Astonish!" Brendan ordered. Duskull suddenly dissappeared and reappeared in front of Kabuto in the blink of an eye, it then sent more mental pain, less than before, into Kabuto through its shocking stare. Sometimes the suddeness of it can scare the foe from attacking, but that was something that was to be seen.

(yeah, but otherwise it would be ANOTHER water gun, and i kinda didn't want to be repetitive)

Kabuto didn't move, it stood still in shock from the attack instead, 'Kabuto! you okay?' the shellfish didn't respond at all. It was too late for the shell, it couldn't battle anymore, Lloyd decided to withdraw it from the battle to save it any more pain.

'Kabuto is unable to battle, Brendan wins this round!' Randy announced (hope you don't mind the autoing)

Lloyd smiled at Brendan, 'well that's one down for you!' he said, taking out another pokeball 'well done!'

Brendan took out his pokeball and returned Duskull, as happy as a lamb, to it's pokeball.

"You have done me proud today..." Brendan whispered to the pokeball before putting it back on his belt. He took out a different pokeball, thinking about how much stronger his next opponent might be. Will it be a breeze? Or will it be too much for his pokemon? That was to be seen in the second round.

"Well Lloyd, I would have confess that you haven't seen anything yet" Brendan admitted as he pressed the button on the pokeball and enlarged it to take up his whole hand. "Lets go! Alakazam!" Brendan roared as he threw the pokeball high into the air. From the white light inside, the intelligent psychic type with the moustache came out. It span the two spoons in each hand with three fingers then grabbed both and gripped them tight. Brendan just hoped that Lloyds' next one wouldn't be a dark type, as it could greatly handicap Alakazam should that be the scenerio.

(please note that first thing in the morning for me, I won't be able to reply for a couple of days due to camping)

(okay, cool beans)

Lloyd looked down at the yellow psychic pokemon and felt a shiver go down his spine. 'Perfect' he whispered to himself clutching a pokemon from his belt, 'Go! Luxio!' he shouted while throwing the red and white ball into the air and welcoming his new Luxio.

'This round will be between Alakazam and Luxio, go!' Randy commentated.

'Luxio! Use crunch!' Lloyd yelled. Luxio quickly dashed in front of Alakazam and shrouded him in darkness while he bit the psychic. 'Good job!' Lloyd shouted from way back. 'Your turn!' Lloyd smirked to himself, feeling lucky that his Luxio knew crunch.

Brendan thought about the situation as Luxio performed his attack. Luxio may be an electric type, but a nasty dark move like crunch could be quite dangerous.

"Luxio! Crunch again!" Lloyd yelled, clearly trying to establish a quick victory, Luxio went for Alakazam, and just when Luxio leapt, Brendan reacted.

"Alakazam! Use reflect!" Brendan called, Alakazam responded by using both spoons to make a blue energy wall. Luxio collided with this head first and fell to the ground in front of Alakazam dazed. "Alright! Now use psycho cut!" Brendan continued, Alakazam used his powers to make him float backwards to get some distance. It then put its palms together with the spoons in between. forming a very small channel between the bowls. Alakazam took a small second to focus its power into that channel, then it came out the other end in a highly focused psy wave that went right through Luxio side on. Luxio stood up, now realizing what kind of opponent this was.

"Lets hit him again! Psybeam!" Brendan ordered again. Alakazam once again put his hands together. However, he instead clasped his hands around both spoons with the bowl of one facing Alakazam and the bowl of the other aimed at Luxio. Alakazam focused its power again into the spoons and a two beams came out Alakazam's eyes and went into the first spoon. Then came out of the second in circular waves similar to sonar waves.

'Luxio! Dodge it!' sure enough he did. Luxio was still a little grazed but still willing to fight on, 'now! use thunder fang' Luxio once again flew forward but this time with electricity barging out from his jaws. Though this time, he bit the spoon instead and Alakazam thought he had missed, he hadn't. A huge charge went from Luxio's mouth into Alakazam's brain via the spoon, causing him to fall backwards. 'Use Roar!' Lloyd shouted his final attack, Luxio let out a huge cry so Alakazam would become that little bit more scared.

The roar was ear shattering, and Brendan knew that a roar like that could interfere with pokeball systems, causing the ball to retract the pokemon automatically and disable itself temporarily. Alakazam became red light and dissappeared into the pokeball on Brendan's waist. Alakazam wasn't out, but he won't be able to fight again until the next round. This meant Brendan needed to call out a third.

"Alright Machop, this fight's on you!" Brendan called to his Machop. Machop was hiding in a tree watching the fight. He now jumped down and slammed both fists into the ground as he landed. He pulled them out still incased in rock. Now he had rock gloves to add some extra punch while they last. Brendan waited for Lloyd to make the first move against Brendan's mascot, and he was about to find out that this was not your ordinary Machop.

Lloyd knew not to underestimate this machop, he looked tough and probably had a trick up his sleeve, but what would that be? 'Luxio, use crunch again!' Lloyd said, he wanted to test out this little guy.

Luxio shot at the machop and his mouth stared to glow black again, He attempted to bite the machop hard.

"Machop! Comet Punch! In the air!" Brendan ordered. Machop responded by leaping straight into Luxio, getting a scratch from the attack on his head, then struck with a speedy punch from the rock encasing his hand, he instantly struck again with his other hand. He repeated this multiple times in the air until both rocks broke and exposed his hands. Machop and Luxio fell to the ground.

"Now! Seismic toss!" Brendan ordered. Machop grabbed Luxio by the tail and swung him around like a hammer three times, then let go and sent Luxio high into the air, almost out of sight. Luxio then came speeding down like a comet. A shadow indicated that the electric type was going to crash only a foot away from Machop.

'um...' Lloyd didn't know what to order, he was done for. Luxio went flying straight into machop's head softening the blow, Luxio was on his last limb but machop didn't look much better, it looked like both their last stands. 'Use Thunderbolt' Lloyd ordered. Luxio's mouth started to glow yellow and machop's eyes widened. 'Release!' Lloyd shouted. Luxio let a huge yellow beam come flying out of his mouth and straight into the superpower machop causing him to fly backwards.

(shouldn't spark be when the user builds up electricity, slams into the foe, and releases it upon contact? No offence, but what you're describing sounds a bit like charge beam)

Machop was thrown some distance, but he wasn't quite on his last legs yet, Brendan has made a mistake getting Machop to throw Luxio at that angle. But there was still something wrong. Machop usually is much stronger than this, that roar attack must have done more damage than he thought. It was time to play hard and fast.

"Luxio! Thunderbolt!" Lloyd called, Luxio charged up electricity, then released it in a lighting bolt heading speedily towards Machop.

"Machop! Detect!" Brendan roared, his trump card. Machop stood with legs apart and slammed his fist into his palm and focused extremely hard. Then Machop opened his eyes to show that they were now green. A bystander would say that Machop was going at an impossible speed. But he was actually using a very unique fighters technique that temporarily slows time around him. Machop easily managed to dodge the thunderbolt and he returned to normal behind Luxio.

"Let's finish this feline off! Use dynamic punch!" Brendan roared. Machop took aim with his fist as it began to glow different colours, he then lunged at Luxio with his fist. Luxio turned around to attack Machop. Big mistake as the attack caught Luxio square in the jaw and sent him flying onto his back. Machop panted, detect was a move that could do that to any pokemon. Brendan thought that there was no way Luxio could still be standing after that killer blow, but there was always a chance.

Luxio wasn't done yet, little did Brendan know that the thunderbolt had given him that little bit more power to fight on, but not much further on. 'Luxio, use Roar!' Lloyd shouted and then mouthed 'don't make it too loud, i got a plan' Luxio began to roar at half the volume of last time while Machop covered his ears and shut his eyes, 'now, use thunder fang while roaring' it was risky but if done right, could end the battle. Luxio sprinted towards Machop roaring while his mouth turned yellow. 'Now!' Luxio dug his teeth into Machop and sent electric waves all around Machop's body.

(you don't have to withdraw machop, if he's still alive after this overkill, just say that he had covered his ears and couldn't hear it and it wasn't loud enough to interfere with the pokeballs)

(home, home on the range, where pokemon are in combat... where machop is almost down, just enough for one more pound... and the next battle is about to begin)

Brendan stood there, he felt like Machop was finished, what Brendan saw between Kabuto and Duskull was absolutly nothing compared to this. Machop however thought differently. As much as he believed in his trainer, he could take battle matters into his hands when in a pinch. Machop grabbed Luxio's upper jaw with his free hand and tried to wrestle his other hand free, only showing pain through a hard grimace. Eventually, he was free from Luxio's grasp and leapt backwards to get some distance. The electricity that once covered him completly disappeared and his grey was visible once again.

Brendan saw that there was one more chance, all or nothing now. "Machop! Cross Chop!" he ordered. Machop leapt high until he was at treeline height. As he came down, he made an 'x' with his arms and they began to glow white. He rushed in towards the lynx pokemon, ready to use whatever energy he had left to finish the round.

'Dodge it!' Lloyd ordered, but Luxio couldn't move, he flinched from the jaw breaker, Machop was coming closer to Luxio very fast. Machop's glowing hands started to glow lighter and lighter as Lloyds teeth grit harder and harder. In that last split second Lloyd saw Luxio leer at Machop and dodge quickly, sending Machop digging into the ground, hurt by the recoil alone as he didn't do any damage to Luxio.

'Finish it! Thunderbolt!' Luxio started to glow again in the neon yellow lighting he was emmiting. He jumped up and fired an electric beam into Machop who was still down from the last attack and it didn't look like he would be getting up any time soon

As the Thunderbolt shot towards Machop, he paid no heed to it as he tried to wrestle his arms free from the ground. Then just before the rock made contact, Machop pulled up surrounding rock and accidentally neutralized the attack with the rocks. Part of the rock broke away but there was still a chunk binding Machop's arms together. Machop rested the rock and kept a steady eye on Luxio. Brendan could see that Machop was changing tactics and was going to put defence first. And with a temporary shield from any electric attacks, it shouldn't be a problem. But it would still pose some problems for Machop due to his minimal energy and the weight of the rock.

Lloyd saw this tactic and thought of ways he could work around it. 'Luxio! use crunch on the rock and Machop!' Luxio's mouth started to glow black and he bit the rock off and watched as it crumbled to pieces, then secured grip on Machop. 'Thunder fang and thunderbolt!' Luxio's mouth changed colour almost instantly into a brilliant yellow glow, and double the strength of the previous attacks. Again he started to send charges into Machop but so much more powerful.

[[OOC: Okay, y'all. I'm stepping in and stepping up. Let's make this fun.]]

Kalseng had been wandering around Kanto for a while now, just passing through town by town, trying to find new or exciting places. Kalseng hadn't found anything of interest yet, and he had decided as much to head to Cerulean city to explore the cave he had heard about there. It supposedly housed the pokemon Mewtwo, which meant it was thoroughly surrounded by fables and stories that Kalseng was eager to learn.

Kalseng's brown hair was fluttering gently in the wind, flaring backwards as his girafarig ran with its trainer riding on top. He addorned a pair of worn-out blue jeans and a white long-sleeve shirt covered in a dark green jacket now, in contrast to his old clothing which he had long since outgrown. Kalseng laughed as the scenary quickly disappeared behind him. The air was fresh and crisp, much like the air of Pewter City, which was one of the reasons Kalseng was excited to get to the cave.

Of course, on his way there there would be a detour through Mt. Moon, but Kalseng could very well live with that. Soon, Kalseng came to a Pokemon Center, and Kalseng gave his pokemon the signal to stop. The Girafarig stopped, and Kalseng got down off of his Psychic pokemon. "Go eat, girl." Kalseng said, patting his Girafarig on the head. The pokemon cheered happily, and ran off to a nearby patch of grass. Kalseng then spun on his heels, and briskly walked towards the Pokemon Center, past the battling trainers.

Upon entering the center, he noticed how entirely dead the place was. No one sat by the copmuters, the chairs were entirely empty, and the nurse was practically asleep at the counter. Kalseng didn't need the service as much as he just needed some food, so he passed the reception counter, and headed straight for the cafeteria. The room was not very large, the only decoration about 7-8 tables, and a few rows of food, set up like a buffet. There were two refrigerators on one side of the room, containing various beverages, and opposite of them was a register with a bored looking clerk. Only one person was eating there, and he was entirely wrapped up in his newspaper.

Kalseng let out a small sigh and found a few items to munch on, and he paid for them at the register. Upon leaving the center, he unscrewed the top of his milk, and took a drink. Two trainers were battling fiercly with low-level pokemon, so Kalseng decided to sit and watch the two trainers, while munching on an apple and placing a sandwich on the ground.

This would be a nice, relaxed journey for him.

Brendan hesitated as Luxio prepared the attack. An attack that strong would be extremely difficult to dodge, even should Machop use detect. He decided to take a gamble and let Machop use everything he had left to finish the round, one way or another.

"Machop! Time to finish this! Close Combat!" Brendan ordered. Machop ran straight into Luxio and began dealing sharp punches, kicks, headbutts, you name it and Machop was probably hitting Luxio with it. All the while Luxio was still charging up the attack. Eventually the attack was released and both were caught in an explosion of electricity. A large cloud of smoke and dust formed around them, and Machop flew out a few seconds later. Sprawled on the ground a foot behind Randy, Machop was clearly knocked out. Brendan turned to Luxio, also sprawled on the ground. But Brendan couldn't tell whether Luxio was out as well with his face pointing at Lloyd. Randy didn't say anything yet either, not knowing the exact results of the final strike.

After the final blow, Luxio had been knocked so far backwards and seemed out of it for a while, but sure enough, struggled and got up. Lloyd had won this round and looked at Luxio who seemed pretty proud of himself. 'good job' Lloyd grinned.

'Machop is unable to battle, Luxio wins. 1 all. Final round!' Randy stated.

Lloyd knew that Brendan only had alakazam left and so this fight between between him and Zangoose may be hard.

Brendan was dissappointed yet impressed. He failed to win this battle, even with Machop, but it proved to him that this is going to be one close match. Brendan took out his pokeball, unsure about if the effects of the earlier roar attack were still in place. He received an answer when he pressed the button and the familiar psychic type reappeared, only visible wound would be a heavy head from the thunder fang attack. Brendan suspected that Lloyd would call out his Zangoose to fight. He just had to hope that Zangoose wouldn't know any dark moves.

(man, I wish I had the time to put some more description into this post)

(sorry XD pursuit is dark)

'Go Zangoose!' Zangoose calmly bowled over to the battlefield, not a care in the world. 'Little more excitement please?' Lloyd said sarcastically, and to his return got a cold hard stare. Lloyd was proud to have won the last round but was outstanded by the performace that Machop gave. Very impressive of a pokemon of such a small size.

Brendan studied Zangoose carefully, it probably would put up a fight as fierce as the one Machop gave. To make the battle harder, Alakazam was still feeling the effect of Luxio's thunder fang, Brendan could only pray that it didn't have any effect on his attacks.

"Alakazam! Future Sight!" Brendan ordered, Alakazam got in a sitting down position three feet off the ground using his powers, his eyes glowed a mixture of colours. Brendan knew that those colours would stay in Alakazam's eyes, speeding up as the attack came closer to appearing, as they battled. Eventually, when it hits, It should distract Zangoose enough to hit him in a weak spot. But at this time, Alakazam was open for Zangoose to attack.

Lloyd saw the weakness and attacked it, 'Zangoose! Use pursuit!' Zangoose sprinted to the open alakazam and striked him down with black claws. Lloyd was quite proud of himself for using a dark move against a psychic pokemon, it might not matter though, Alakazam was very good at taking hits from what Lloyd saw.

Alakazam stood on his feet once again after the strike, but the colours in his eyes remained. Brendan knew that the more Zangoose hit Alakazam, the less time it takes for future sight to take effect. But it still won't happen until maybe towards the end of the battle should Zangoose stick to pursuit.

"Alright Alakazam! Use psycho cut!" Brendan commanded, Alakazam once again put the spoons together and formed a channel between the bowls. It took only a second to launch the kinesis blade, and it traveled at incredible speed. It was too fast for the average Zangoose to dodge without taking a sharp hit in some random place, but when it comes to mascot pokemon, anything is possible.
