An anime episode 'explained' relationship as symbiotic. With Shellder using Slowbro for land travel and Slowbro using Shellder for balance allowing it to walk on its hind legs. Why it becomes so different looking is beyond me, maybe that's what it actually looks like.

Lol thats the problem with X and Y its so easy to beat I beat it in 1 week and all my pokemon were lv 65-70
