Hydregion roared a response back to the Salamance as if challenging the Pokemon. James looked at the two in amusement as Linoone curled around his shoulers. He amired the Salamance for challenging his Hydregion but was sad that it would most likely be thrashed in a battle. James felt the dark ball on his belt shake in excitement at the roars of other pseudo legendary Pokemon. He gently stroked the ball calming it's shakes before reaching for his Linoone to pet.

Sedna watched the man and his strong looking Pokèmon. No doubt about it - Mawile and Altaria would be the only Pokèmon of hers that would stand a chance.

"Hi." Sedna said nicely. "Your Pokèmon look very powerful. You must be a proud trainer."

Mawile made her way back to Sedna finally, after missing the embrace of her trainer. When Mawile pinched at Sedna's right calf with her large mouth, Sedna spun around in confusion before scooping up her beloved steel and fairy type Pokèmon.

"Mawile! Ma-Mawile!" Mawile exclaimed.

"I know, you made a new friend today! I'm so happy for you, honey~" Sedna congratulated her Pokèmon after it spent the last moments playing with the Ninetails belonging to Pyros. "Just don't be so grabby when you get excited. It's hard to make friends like that."

"Mawile..." Mawile sighed - still after years of friendship, unable to fully control the mouth of hers unless it was in battle.

Shiori paused from petting his Milotic to take notice of all the Pokemon that people were sending out. A Garchomp, A Salamence, some other Pokemon he's never seen before... They all looked really tough. It... It doesn't matter how tough they look! I'll beat them anyway! Shiori's Milotic, noticing that her trainer was distracted, wrapped herself around him and lifted the actor off the ground.
"M-Milotic?!" Shiori said. The Milotic smiled and gently deposited Shiori into her back. Shiori smiled back, then patted the Milotic on the side. He could feel the calming energy that the Milotic produced, and it filled Shiori with confidence.

Meanwhile, Shiori's Quagsire had waddled away from his trainer. It looked around at all of the Dragon-Types, as well as the large Torterra and Chandalure, and felt the urge, the desire, to Ice Punch. It's derpy face betraying none of it's intentions, it waddled past Sedna and her Mawile, slowly making it's way towards the Garchomp.

Kyukon let Mawile go back to her trainer, but followed her. She listened to Sedna talking about being less grabby to Mawile, and Kyukon just cocked her head to the side. She thought "she's not that bad". She pawed at Sedna's leg and then noticed Chandela was hiding behind her Torterra. She cooed toward him, and he slowly approached Kyukon, recognizing her as a part of Pyros' team. He quivered toward her and she curled around him, easing him of his fears. He hugged her tails, to which she didn't do anything and just laid there, content in cuddling something warm.

Meanwhile, Nokus noticed the incoming Quagsire and tensed up. Nokus knew how convincing Quagsires were, especially when his trainer's brother had one. Nokus had actually taken a liking to the Garchomp, so he wouldn't want her to get hurt right before the tournament. He looked at the Quagsire, his body tensing up in anticipation of some funny business. He normally wouldn't be like this, but since he felt a little smitten towards the Garchomp he wasn't going to let the Quagsire do anything to hurt her. Ohhh, this was going to be difficult if he were to ever battle her. He wouldn't want to hurt her.

Anyway, Boko, the Salamence, flew up into the air to match the height of where the Hydreigon was at, and was surprisingly fast at the take-off. Besides Zarda, he was the fastest Pokemon on Pyros' team. He flapped enough to hover above the ground and chatted amicably with the Hydreigon, asking him about how ready he felt for the battles to come.

Meanwhile, Pyros nodded toward the thankful Flower and studied every Pokemon on the field. Pretty sure he'll bring out Boko when up against James and his Hydreigon. Maybe avoid bringing out Chandela on Shiori's Water-Types. Maybe bring out Kyukon and Ennewt, and maybe Baku instead his Nokus for Atty's Pokemon. He'll just have to play it by ear.

Cynthia moved her gaze away from Nokus, noticing the Quagsire that was waddling up, seemingly interested in her. However, she could feel the uncertainty of his motives and the overall vibe that he gave off. She looked between him and Nokus, feeling the tension in the air begin to rise. While it was true she was a prime target for Ice Pokemon and Ice Moves, and while Quagsires were fully able to learn such moves, she didn't feel that much of a threat. Still, her golden colored eyes bored into the Water Fish, as if to say "don't try any funny business".

Finally able to pry herself from the grasp of her Golisopod, Atty reached back into her bag once more, taking out a plethora of treats for her team. There was a little baggy of patterned Pokebeans, as well as a small case containing various flavors of Poffins, a talent she had picked up while in Sinnoh. She let her team crowd around, aside from Cynthia, who seemed to be busy at the moment. "Bet you guys are hungry, huh? Aside from Ruby, though, you just ate, you big baby."

Ruby, still perched on the shoulders of her Scizor friend, snarled in response to the jab from her trainer. Sure, she was a little bit pudgier than most Weaviles, but she was still a top battler.

"Emolga! Come on out!" Sedna exclaimed as she threw a standard pokeball up into the air. It exploded with force and sent the electric - flying squirrel Pokèmon out into the open world.

Instantly, Mawile hopped down from Sedna's grip and got down to Emolga's level. Almost there after did the two start dancing together with happiness and excitement. Mawile got to see her best friend yet again.

"Emol!" Emolga chimed with Mawile and Emolga holding hands, dancing in front of Torterra, who seemed more keen on just following Sedna's lead. Glaceon hung out in the tree still, annoying Torterra everyone she exhaled a breath due to the chilling and frigid air being expelled from the ice type Eevee evolution.

The day seemed nice and the area they were at seemed even nicer. All the friendly people and trainers brought out their Pokèmon to give everyone a feel as to how powerful they were. Surely a Garchomp and Charizard made Sedna think twice about how powerful she herself was, but nevertheless everyone seemed to bond well with one-another.

This tournament would help her train hard for the Elite Four challenge and if she even dare face Cynthia in the Sinnoh League, she needed to train harder.

"We will all grow... together!" Sedna exclaimed as Glaceon, Torterra, Emolga, and Mawile all agreed with passion. They all wanted to grow stronger as a team.

Shiori's Quagsire stopped when it was noticed by the Garchomp and the Haxorus. Stopping for a moment to consider what to do, the Water Pokemon suddenly fell on it's face and lay still. Raza, still riding the Shiori's Gyarados, watched the event unfolding with interest, wondering what the Quagsire was up to.

Shiori sat on his Milotic, thinking. Not about the opponent's Pokemon, though. That'll wait until later. Smiling, the actor stood up, balanced on his Milotic's back. Time to show off some moves... Shiori smirked, then slid down his Milotic's back. The sea serpent Pokemon flipped up her tail at the last moment, launching Shiori into the air and propelling him upward with a small blast of water. Letting out a whoop, Shiori performed a flip before hitting the ground in a somersault. The actor popped up in a kneeling position and spread his arms.
"Tadaa!" Shiori said triumphantly. Meanwhile, Shiori's Braviary took to the skies, watching the Hydregon and Salamence from a distance. Wow, there's a lot of dragons.

"That was amazing!" Sedna exclaimed with starry eyes. "How did you and your Milotic learn to move so pristine and trusting!?"

Mawile and Emolga stopped dancing once the movements took place, both of them watching the flip and tricks by Shiori and the Milotic. Mawile was amazed while Emolga was interested in the Milotic, not really focused on the trainer at all. It was huge compared to herself, lengths larger than any Pokèmon she had ever seen in that body style.

"Well, it's part of my job! I practice the stunts I do for my movies with Milotic as often as I can. Oh, and sometimes Gyarados, Braviary, and Raza help as well." Shiori said proudly. Shiori's Milotic bowed gratefully at the praise, and Raza simply shook her head. Shiori could tell from the look on her face that she was trying to go for what a show off, but couldn't help but to smile.

Shiori's Milotic glanced over and noticed the Emolga looking at her. Giving it a smile, the sea serpent Pokemon waved it's tail in greeting.

"Incredible! I want to learn to do those tricks so I can be better at my contests in the Sinnoh region!" Sedna exclaimed with eagerness. "Your Milotic is so beautiful!"

Emolga saw the wave and hid behind Mawile, the shyness and fear of larger creatures and Pokèmon kicking in. Mawile did her best to reassure Emolga that everything was fine, That the Trainer's Pokèmon was friendly and talented.

Pyros saw Shiori's stunt with his Milotic and clapped for him, causing his Nokus to get distracted for a brief moment. Nokus' face didn't move from being pointed toward the now fallen Quagsire, still apprehensive to what the Quagsire will do, but looked a little to the side just in time to see Shiori's stunt. He was pretty good. He looked back to the Quagsire to see if he had moved at all.

Even though Pyros loved watching television, he had neglected to watch any TV shows and movies recently, only seemingly using it to watch random anime shows on Netflix. He raised an eyebrow and questioned something to Shiori. "You are an actor? I didn't know that," and then something struck him as he had just remembered that Shiori had said he was an actor earlier at the malasada shop. He probably said it so fast that Pyros didn't even register he even said it until just now. He slapped the palm of his hand onto his forehead and gave out some uproarious laughter before saying "Oh, what am I doing? You already said you were an actor. So sorry for missing that." He had felt quite stupid.

Chandela, seeing that the Emolga was scared, knew what it was like being terrified of Pokemon bigger than him. He looked over to the Emolga and beckoned for her to come over to him and feel one of Kyukon's tails, since they were extremely soft and that Kyukon was an extremely nice Ninetales and will allow people and Pokemon to pet her soft tails, especially for comfort. Kyukon looked up from her curled position and shook her head while her tail was being used to help a possessed chandelier, that can burn the souls of living creatures for fuel and leave the husks of the soulless bodies as remnants, befriend an adorable electrical, flying squirrel, that can actually fly by storing electricity to combat against gravity and has been known to shock others if scared because of instincts and survival tactics. Interesting. If Chandela spooked Emolga too much, her fur will became extremely puffy. It'll get puffy anyway if the Emolga decided to rub up against her tails. Kyukon just sighed and laid back down, letting Chandela do what he was wanting to do. She didn't care at the moment, since she wasn't going to get away from this.

Ennewt then decided it was now a good time to cause some mischief. She let her pheromones go rampant and the closest male to her was her trainer, Pyros. Pyros had gotten a huge whiff of the scent from his laughter and his eyes became extremely wide, and his pupils dilated. He immediately stopped laughing and he hunched over, looking laxed, and yet tensed. He looked over to see his Pokemon twirling about promiscuously and beckoning for her trainer to come to him. As if he had a spell cast on him, he did as she said, but then snapped out of it, but his eyes were still dilated to gigantic black saucers. He backed off a bit, shaking his hands at her and telling her "no, stop it." The pheromones wafted throughout the entire area where everyone was at, and Ennewt regretted nothing. She actually smirked to herself and acted like it wasn't hers. She had a mock quizzical look on her face when Pyros told her no, complete with putting her scaly claw on her lips and raising one side of her scaly brow. She then nonchalantly swiped the air with her hand, basically communicating "It was me? Nooo, it can't be." Pyros wasn't exactly amused, to say the least.

Nokus wasn't exactly too affected by it, even though his eyes were dilating. Although, now Cynthia was stuck in his head and couldn't get her out of his mind. He also became slightly more aggressive as he growled at the Quagsire to back off. Chandela's fires burned brighter, indicating that he was attracted to something. Baku had his eyes dilated, but was completely used to this and did nothing, but bask in the sun, away from everyone. Boto looked over at Ennewt and offered for the Hydreigon to fly higher, so they can chat without getting affected by his teammate's pheromones. He then flew up high to avoid them. The only Pokemon on Pyros' team, who were not affected, were Zarda, Kyukon, and Ennewt, and that's because the former two were females, and the latter was actually causing this. If the pheromones didn't control the bodies of the males around her, Ennewt sure did make them flustered, emotional, or aggressive.

The pheromones began to effect Shiori, putting him into a trance-like state. His Gyarados was effected as well, moving in such a way that Raza accidently fell off, landing in the water with a loud splash. Her illusion broken, she growled at the Gyarados angrily, only to stop when she realized something strange was going on. Shiori's Quagsire didn't really look like he was effected. However, the Water Fish Pokemon did begin rolling around on the ground around the Haxorus. Shiori's Braviary didn't seem effected... Yet, as he was still flying pretty high in the sky.

Looking around, confused, Raza finally saw Pyros' Salazzle. This wasn't the first time Raza had encountered a Salazzle. There was one at the last tournament Shiori competed in, and quite a few actors Shiori had met had a few. Not bothering to use her Illusion ability to disguise herself, Raza marched over to Ennewt, growling threateningly and telling her to cut it out.

As luck would have it, Atty and her entire team were females, all relatively unaffected by the Salazzle pheromones.

She tipped her head up, sniffing the air for a moment, glancing over at the cause of all this. "Huh, maybe I should get a Salazzle at some point... Or at least some perfume they sell here." Her lips pursed, mumbling to herself and watching as the males in the area were put under trance. Her Pokemon did the same, able to smell a hint of sweetness in the air just like their trainer, but otherwise still in a completely normal state. One thing Atty was able to notice however, was the girl from before that kept giving off those strange vibes had taken on an entirely different form now, being a Zoroark. Things began to click in her mind, and she now understood. Zoroarks disguising themselves as humans was not an uncommon problem in Unova, but considering she was under the care of a trainer, Atty figured there would be nothing to worry about.

Cynthia, however, seemed a little preoccupied at the moment. She had watched as the Quagsire had fallen flat on his face in front of her, now rolling around. Her stare shifted to Nokus now, who seemed... Even more defensive than just a moment ago. Although she was confident that she could handle herself, and that the Quagsire wasn't proving much of a threat anyways, she let the scene unfold, curious as to how far the pheromones would affect the males.

Sedna picked up on the scent and raised an eyebrow until she noticed where it was coming from. She saw her male Torterra starting to give into the scent. There had to be something Sedna could do to try to parry the pheromone or else her Pokèmon was going to be like a magnet to the Salazzle.

"Sweet Scent, Torterra." Sedna said quietly, seeing the tree on Torterra's back glow a pink color as petals flowed off of it. There were enough petals and a sweet smell to it that it counteracts the pheromone only around Torterra himself. After his pupils dialated, They quickly returned to normal size.

Meanwhile, Emolga and Mawile were extremely puzzled at the random great smell but also at the mass of large Pokèmon. Even though they came up to their trainers knees, everything else was close to the size of THEIR trainer, much larger than them. Although, Mawile didn't freak out too much and instead strolled over to the Ninetails, ushering for Emolga to follow. Instead, Emolga leaped off of the ground and leeched itself to Sedna's shoulders, holding on tightly to her hair and neck.

"Aww, Emolga." Sedna giggled as she reached a hand back and stroked a long the top of her head. "All of these Pokèmon are friendly. You don't need to worry about them at all."

"E....Emolga..." Emolga whined as it hid away tightly. Sedna pondered briefly if it was a good idea to return Emolga to its pokeball in this area. If she was too scared then this could be a very bad area for her.

Seeing the problems that his Ennewt was causing, he tried to return her to his Poke Ball, but she dodged out of the way of the beam. She playfully hissed at him, her tail flicking around. Pyros sighed and thought this wasn't a good time. He whistled for Kyukon to come to him, to which she did. She got up from her curled position, and told Chandela and Mawile that she'll be back. She then rushed forward and tackled Ennewt to the ground, who wasn't too happy. She hissed madly, and Pyros finally sent her to her Poke Ball. He pinched the bridge of his nose and knelt down to pet Kyukon on her head, telling her a thank you before letting her run off to Sedna.

Turning around, he gave out a deeply resigned sigh and told everyone he was extremely sorry. "I am so sorry for what Ennewt had done. I thought if she wouldn't do it in the malasada shop, she wouldn't do it out here. Oh boy, I was wrong. At least she's confined now. Normally, she isn't like this, either, which was why I trusted her in this scenario. So sorry for the trouble."

After Ennewt disappeared, Nokus turned back to normal and was looking around a little dazed. He looked over to see his trainer and distress and he reluctantly left Cynthia's side to go over to him and nuzzle his cheek. Baku didn't exactly care, and Boto was still up in the air. Pyros actually looked extremely devastated after the incident. Normally when she does this around other people, Pyros would just brush it off like it never happened or say sorry once. He never would profusely say sorry. Maybe he was just disappointed in himself that he didn't teach Ennewt properly to make her seem like everyone else's Pokemon, or maybe he was embarrassed. But the latter is a bit odd, since he likes to be in social situations all the time. Why was it different now?

Besides his internal bantering, he scratched the back of his neck sheepishly and petted Nokus, who was making him feel better, but he still felt like an utter dick.

Once Nokus had left, Cynthia retreated back to Atty, trotting over to her side. Atty watched as Pyros gave his apology, stroking Cynthia's scaly, rough skin. "Not an issue with me," She spoke up back to him, glancing around at the others. "I knew Salazzles had some pretty strong pheromones, but I never actually got a chance to see it work in person. If anything, you kinda helped me out there." She continued to speak as she went back to feeding her team Poffins and Pokebeans, but the way she trailed off made it seem like there was a bit of information she was leaving out.

"Helped you?" Sedna said - not thinking about how snarky or rude her comment sounded before letting it go.

Emolga reached her head off the side of Sedna's long red hair and caught a glimpse of Atty. Curious about the human but afraid of the Pokèmon, Emolga eyed the woman thoroughly.

Shiori groaned and rubbed his head as the pheromones disappaited. Salazzle pheromones always left him with a whammy of a headache. His Gyarados acted the same, grunting and shaking its head. Raza walked over to her trainer and put her paw on his shoulder, and Shiori turned and looked at her. The actor smiled.
"Hey, your illusion. You took it off." Shiori said happily. The Zoroark looked down at herself, then around nervously at the other trainers. Shiori took her paw. "Relax. These people are good people. They're not after you."
Raza looked at her trainer, then sighed and nodded. Suddenly, the Zoroark perked up. Where was Quagsire?

Quagsire stopped rolling around once the pheromones had dissipated. The Garchomp seemed distracted by the events that were unfolding. Perfect. His time to strike was now. The Quagsire moved quickly, an unusual glint coming to it's eye. The air around it's paw became cold and icy. It lashed out at the Garchomp...

... But before the Ice Punch could land, Raza stomped on the Water Fish Pokemon, pushing it's face into the ground. Raza growled softly at the Quagsire. There had already been one Pokemon that had caused a scene. Shiori didn't need his Pokemon to make a scene as well. The Quagsire turned and smiled at the Zoroark with a blank smile, but Raza knew the Quagsire well enough to know that he was going to try to get her back.

Shiori's Milotic, happy that her trainer was back to normal, called out to Shiori in a song-like voice then nuzzled against him. Shiori smiled and went back to petting his Milotic, then glanced over at Pyros. He seemed a bit... Upset.
"Uh... Hey, you okay?" Shiori asked Pyros.

"Yes, helped me," Atty stared at Sedna, unsure of why the young girl had been giving her such an attitude lately. Everyone else she talked to she seemed so sweet, looking up and admiring them with starry eyes. So why was it that she had such a problem with her of all people? She wasn't about to let a teenager boss her around, retorting back with her own little comment. "Sorry, you're probably too young to understand." The young woman shrugged nonchalantly, uncaring if her comment came off as colder than intended.

Cynthia, meanwhile, had no idea of the scene going on behind her. She had completely forgotten about the Quagsire, only remembering when she turned around. However, all she saw was the Water Fish's face stomped into the ground by the Zoroark, Raza. Cynthia could only stare blankly, unsure of how to respond and confused as to what was happening.

"Hey! I'm not some little kid you know!" Sedna bit back, Mawile stopping everything she was doing and jumping in front of Sedna, remembering Sedna's strong fueled hatred of girls. However, Mawile made no offensive move and simply watched Atty. Aware of her defensiveness now, Sedna didn't make any move to lower her defenses while Torterra, Emolga, Glaceon, and Mawile formed a square formation around her. Neither looked aggravated or mean, but all watched Atty as Mawile did. "I don't understand how that could have possibly helped you."

Atty rolled her eyes at Sedna's behavior, pink lips curling into a frown. She looked unpleased, yet unphased by her Pokemon coming to her defense. It wasn't like she didn't have a team of her own to back her up. "Of course you don't understand. Like I said, you're too young. You're like, what, thirteen?" Atty shrugged, pampering her Pokemon in the meantime while she bickered with Sedna. "That seems pretty "kid" to me." She ruffled the white hair of her Roserade, combing Belle with her nails. The Bouquet Pokemon warmed up to her trainer, eyeing Sedna and the rest of her Pokemon.

Hearing the rising of voices, Shiori looked over and saw Sedna and Atty taking angrily at each other. They seemed to be getting pretty aggressive. Shiori's Milotic watched the fight with concern, then glanced over at Shiori. The actor simply shrugged, then gestured in the girls direction. The Milotic slithered between the two females and began to emit a soothing aura, trying to calm the two trainers.

Sedna was ready to fire back at the woman before the Milotic appeared between them. In a few seconds time, Sedna nodded to Atty and ushered her Pokèmon along to follow her as she walked away. All of which were enjoying the vibe from Milotic immensely but followed their trainer.

Atty's vision of Sedna was suddenly blocked by Shiori's Milotic, who had snaked between the two of them. The aura it was emitting seemed to de-escalate the situation, and Atty turned back to her own Pokemon while the young girl walked away. "Whatever," She shrugged again, mumbling and talking to her Pokemon. "That girl's got issues. Not my problem." Despite her outward aggressions lowered, she wasn't ready to forgive and forget just yet.

Pyros was about to step in once the girls started fighting, but Shiori's Milotic beat him to it. At least Milotics can ease tensions. He wasn't so sure how he would do it though once he stepped in, though. He walked over to Atty and apologized about Sedna's behavior.

"I'm so sorry she acted like that. It seems she has some unbridled hatred towards women, but is completely fine with males. It probably has something to do with her past, but I can't exactly make any judgments or say what had happened. But she definitely doesn't trust women and won't be afraid to snap at them, as was demonstrated. I think, to avoid anymore confrontations until the tournament battle, we should keep you two separated," he wasn't so sure how Atty was going to respond to that, so he scratched the back of his head and looked sheepishly away. For a guy who towers mostly everyone, he sure did look like a bumbling high schooler right now. Nokus had followed him to make sure his trainer was alright. He also showed an apologetic look, like he was the one in trouble.

Something dawned on him and he had Kyukon follow Sedna. She cooed and rushed off, following Sedna's scent before actually finding her with her eyes. She rushed up and nudged Sedna's leg. She cocked her head to the side and gave her a quizzical look, almost to ask "why?". She looked quite innocent, since she had no idea as to why Sedna acted the way she did. She put a paw on Sedna's leg and cooed up at her, pressing the question upon her. She also had an air of persistence. She wasn't going to give up until she got her answer.

Atty listened to Pyros carefully, taking note of how awkward the man seemed to be. She gave another shrug, seemingly unphased by his suggestion. "Fine by me," She nodded, knowing that staying away from Sedna would more or less be for the better. "I tried being nice, y'know? But I'm not gonna be sassed by someone of her age." Her lips formed into a pout, continuing to groom her Roserade. "So much for "girls helping girls", but whatever. If she doesn't wanna play nice with me, then I won't be helping her, that's all."

Noticing how guilty him and his Pokemon seemed to be, though, tugged at her heart a bit. "Listen," She put a hand on his shoulder, trying to reassure him that he shouldn't be feeling bad. "It's not your fault, you don't have to apologize. I know you're probably kinda embarrassed still by your Salazzle, but believe me, it actually helped me. Now I know how powerful those pheromones can be," She gave a knowing smile, dropping her voice to a more personal level. "I mainly say that because... Well, there's someone I've been seeing around on the islands- Especially Ula'Ula- that I've been hoping to impress if he shows up to this festival."

A pair of blondes stepped off the ferry, making their way through the terminal. It was still early, though it was clear they were not the first to arrive in Malie City, many staying in the city overnight to get a fresh start in the morning. However, Colress preferred isolation. At least when possible.

The scientist had already eaten his dietary supplement for the day, and was now searching for promising Trainers. It was exciting! A whole festival dedicated to showcasing the power of Pokémon! It was truly invigorating.

Stepping through the automatic doors, the pair found themselves in Malie City. The blue-eyed woman scanned their surroundings. "It would appear they did not waste any time in their set-up."

With a smile, the blonde man responded while typing rapidly into the device embedded into his coat, "The World Festival is a renowned event. The Alolan's take pride in it."

Looking to the scientist, the woman gave him a curt nod, "I understand."

---

After making their way through the city, the pair came across a large congregation of powerful Pokémon within Malie Gardens. As they made their way through, the female observed their surroundings, sizing up their competitors. "We are at a disadvantage. Your team is mostly comprised of Steel-types."

Glancing over at his companion he nodded, "Fortunately the battles will have up to three Pokémon participating. A team consisting of you, Eight and Nine should be sufficient against any Fire-types."

The pheromones wafted over towards the group, but given the fact both of them were science-sexual, nothing seemed to happen. However, the male commented, "There is an unusual scent in the vicinity." This of course could have been either the pheromones, or the Sweet Scent.

At his comment, the woman at his side raised a brow, shooting him a questioning glance.

Pyros, no matter how he wanted to phrase his sentences, knew that he wouldn't be able to help Atty see any other way that Sedna is just a kid and therefore her hatred was nothing short of biases she attained as a child. Then again, he wasn't a psychologist, like his brother. He owned a few battle arenas back in Kanto, while his other brother owned dojos. He had helped people understand their Pokemon and find their own way of battling, but he would never be able to help the interpersonal relationship between people. That's leagues above him.

His anxieties disappeared as Atty put her hand on his shoulder. Even though this girl was a little short, she managed to reach his shoulder. He smiled as she felt comfort in knowing how powerful Salazzle pheromones were and he guessed that she was probably wanting to synthesize the pheromones as a sort of perfume. If that was the case, then he just chuckled at the idea. A pretty cute idea, but was she doing it because she didn't think that this man she's trying to impress will like her? Possibly love her? He decided to give in his own two-cents on the matter, even though he wasn't exactly sure what she was doing, he thought he had heard her say something about perfume. He spoke to her in a quiet tone, the volume so low that only them and their nearby Pokemon could hear.

"Well.... I'm not one to ask as to why you need the Salazzle perfume, but it is extremely powerful. I hope you know that this could potentially cause the man to fall for you, but also cause them to be a little aggressive to anybody who gets close to you, and also a little clingy, if not synthesized properly. If the man does like or love you, then you shouldn't need to use the pheromones. Maybe use it as a way to show that you are intelligent, but that is like trying to force someone to love you. Then again, I have no idea what you are planning to use it for, whether it was a promise or something else, but I cannot stress to you the gravity of using Salazzle pheromones, especially improper synthesized versions. It is extremely potent. Also, if this guy does have a thing for you, he should be proud that you are participating in one of these tournaments with hundreds and maybe even thousands of people watching your every move, whether it be in the bleachers or on the telly. Back to the Salazzle perfume, I will give you a bottle of the substance, but each pheromone differs from Salazzle to Salazzle. It's safe to say you should catch a Salandit back at Akala Island. Whatever you venture towards, I will help you in some way. I'll be here to help you if necessary. Just please, be careful when dealing with these pheromones."

With that, he looked over as he heard someone talking. He saw two blondes. One not so familiar, but the other one... Definitely very familiar. He was in Unova at the time of Team Plasma's rise to take Unova, and their apparent resurgence a couple of years later. He glared at them, but the only one who actually seemed to remember Colress was Nokus and Chandela, his two Unovan Pokemon. Zarda seemed to have a vague recollection, but she didn't exactly remember too well. Although, from what she could remember, his experiments weren't exactly humanly sound and she, just like Chandela and Nokus, didn't find him too thrilling to be around. Why was he here?

Chandela, who was with Sedna, darted towards Colress. He floated above them, trying to discern if he was evil now. Nokus, on the other hand, roared at them, his entire body tense and ready for a fight. His tail whipped the ground, causing the ground to shake and create a large dent in the ground. His actions caused Alolan Meowths, Ledians, Ariadoses, Masquerains, Cottonees, Petilils, Araquanids, Poliwags, Psyducks, and other such Pokemon to run and hide, and onlookers who were walking around the area stopped to stare in wonderment. Nokus' red eyes seemed to glow as he glared at Colress. He seemed to have missed that Colress wasn't bad anymore, which was what Chandela and Pyros both picked up. Pyros stood in front of his Pokemon, being the same height as his behemoth, who had stood as tall as he could to make himself seem more intimidating. Chandela floated towards Nokus and tried to push him away, but Nokus wouldn't budge. Pyros and Nokus stared into each other's eyes for a solid minute, neither of them blinking. Nokus' tension towards Colress eased up, but that didn't mean he wasn't angry. Pyros patted him on the head, telling him it was alright. He looked over to Colress and called out: "So sorry for my Pokemon's behavior. They seemed to have remembered you."

Sedna noticed the Ninetails and smiled, seeing Mawile rush off towards the Ninetails and stand by her side. Finally, Sedna sighed and looked over at Atty from the distance they were at.

"I have nothing against... her. But..." Sedna started before closing her eyes.

When she opened them again, she was burried in her past.

"When I was younger - just after I got Mawile from my older brother, my mom and I clashed. She looked down on me going on a journey by myself and even though I was of age to do so, I wasn't fit for her. You see, my mother is a gym leader in the Kalos region so her standards for trainers are really high!"

Mawile stepped closer to Sedna now and almost looked sad as well, looking up at Sedna and practically asking for eye contact.

"My mother told me that I didn't have what it takes to be a trainer and that some day I would return home while she was gone and realize I was wrong about myself. Ever since then... I guess women and I never get along. It's just something I hold against everyone..."

Mawile turned back around and faced the Ninetails before apologizing. In a swift motion, she jumped up into the arms of Sedna and burried her face into the left shoulder of the trainer.

Kyukon looked up and cooed sadly at Sedna, sharing empathy with her. She stood up on her hind legs, pressing her paws against the young girl's stomach to help her balance, and nuzzled her chest in a form of a hug. She felt so sad for her. How could her mother ever do that? They were supposed to be supportive, not demeaning like that. Her body grew warm as she was sending out her condolences via her internal body heat as a way to tell her that she was sorry for her mother's behavior. She then guessed where she got her constant apologies from...

Sedna welcomed the embrace and sorrowfully held onto both Mawile and the Ninetails. It felt good to embrace a fire type Pokèmon and it was great to finally tell someone the truth instead of hide it behind attacking other females.

"Thank you, Kyukon. That means a lot~"

The sudden appearance of the Chandelure caught the attention of the female, whose gaze immediately fell upon the Ghost-type. Furrowing her brows, she'd state firmly, "State your intention." Moments after she said her piece, the nearby Haxorus roared its challenge, sending the woman into defense mode. Stepping between the Dragon-type and her Master, her icy gaze fell upon him.

Colress of course remained quiet, and curious. However, his gaze met the fiery-haired man's as he was approached and addressed. "You have my sincerest apologies, have I wronged you or your Pokémon in the past? I do not recall your faces."

Despite the man's attempt to deescalate the situation, the woman did not budge, instead keeping herself in front of the well-known scientist.

Pyros walked forwards and identified himself and his Pokemon. "My name is Pyroshu Darastrix, but you may call me Pyros. Chandela, my Chandelure, and Nokus, my Haxorus, both remember you back in Unova, when Team Plasma resurged again and tried to take over Unova... Again. They battled valiantly to keep Team Plasma's grip away from causing tyranny across Unova. I see that you have turned a new leaf. How's studying the power of Pokemon, Colress? I supposed it was more interesting than your mercenary job, yes? Or whatever you did before you left Team Plasma."

Kyukon licked Sedna's face affectionately and nuzzled her chin, wanting her to feel better. Her ears perked up towards the commotion, but didn't want to move her head to look. She stayed there, motionless, as she just hugged Sedna to help calm her down.

Atty could feel her face heat up. Pyros was being far too nice for what a vague situation she was in, the young woman almost feeling embarrassed that she had spoken up in the first place. "Well, you see, ah... I haven't even talked to him. I've just seen him around Ula'Ula a lot, and once in a blue moon while I was training back on Melemele. He's not really that hard to miss, honestly... But, my point being is that I'm... Y'know. Nervous. I have no idea if this guy even knows I exist. I was hoping he'd show up here eventually, but I haven't seen him around Malie yet. I mean, granted, it only just hit afternoon, but still... I was hoping pheromones or perfume or whatever would at least help give me a little edge so he'd at least notice me." She ran a hand through her bangs, already a bit flustered from admitting so much to a man she had known for less than a day.

However, her embarrassment was quickly shot down as two more stepped into the gardens, causing quite a scene with Pyros' Pokemon, especially his Haxorus. Atty watched as all the smaller, wild Pokemon fled the scene, the dragon's intimidation clearly working to some extent. Atty peered over, trying to see who exactly had made the dragon so upset. She didn't recognize the other, but there was clearly something familiar about the taller male. She couldn't exactly pinpoint what his name was, but that face felt so familiar to her. It suddenly struck her that the man was in fact Colress, and memories of years prior suddenly rushed into her mind. Atty instinctively took a step back, remembering how Team Plasma had put her home region in danger. She was traveling at the time, unable to safely return home until they were stopped, limited contact with her friends, family, and whatever Pokemon she had left at home. She watched as Pyros seemed to trust him, but Atty was still wary, turning back Cynthia to preoccupy herself.

As the man introduced himself, Colress began to type away madly, transcribing what appeared to be the entire conversation, or at least important fragments of it. Nodding as he explained their connection, the scientist then responded, "I see. You may not be aware, but my objective has not changed, however it is clear Team Plasma's method of drawing out the power in Pokémon was inferior. However, my research into Z-Power has had fascinating results."

Once her Master finished, the female beside him addressed them, "It is a pleasure. My designation is Seven of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Colress Unit 01."

Noting the movement of the nearby woman, Seven's gaze shifted to her, observing her movements briefly before focusing on her Garchomp.

Pyros' eyebrow rose as he saw the man type down everything. He looked at him strangely, but decided it was best not to ask. His mind exploded when Seven started to address herself. Somebody, like his brother, would understand this, but he was more for the layman's terms. Nokus, however, wasn't having it. Flashbacks to Mistralton Cave and Colress and his team of Plasma Grunts walking in and abducting Pokemon for their research. He lost one of his good friends, to which he found while he was under the ownership of Pyros and was a Fraxure at the time. He had to fight his friend, who was brainwashed and made stronger in the pursuit of power. Nokus roared again, saying something about how he had to hurt his own friend, and how Colress turned his friend into a monster by evolving him, which he didn't want to do and wanted to stay an Axew forever. Pyros had to practically hug his friend, to which he was met with claws digging into his back. Pyros gasped in pain, but stayed still, not letting Nokus near him. He will just have to recall him. He pulled out his Poke Ball and returned the still upset beast. The ball started to shake in his hand, and he had to force it into his pants' pocket to keep him from getting out.

Chandela, disturbed by what Nokus had said, started to have flashbacks, as well. Things he didn't want to remember and had blocked out for a good reason. In Celestial Tower as a Litwick, he remembered Colress and a few Team Plasma Admins and Grunts coming in and leaving a high-tech device. It raised the power of Pokemon nearby with a high-pitched noise, but it also caused mental and emotional pain, turning them into blood-thirsty creatures. Pyros and his siblings were in the tower at the time and had to destroy the machine from causing anymore harm, but they couldn't find the people who left it there. Pyros then took in Chandela, as he was the most battered and bruised out of all of them. Because his sister was fighting Chandela with her own Ghost-Types, it caused a deep rooted fear on Chandela, coupled with the experience he had to go through. He started to cry and he hugged his trainer, desperately trying to forget those horrible times of hurting people and Pokemon he didn't mean to hurt. Pyros, startled by the outrage from his own Pokemon, patted Chandela and returned him for the day.

Zarda came forward and Pyros gave her a stern look, as if to say "Don't be like the other two, please." She nodded, but kept a close eye on Colress. Kyukon's ears perked up to what had happened and felt sorry for Pyros' Pokemon, but still stayed with Sedna. Baku and Boto, sensing a problem, walked toward Pyros. Boto landed on the ground, while the large Turtonator stretched and came forward. He looked toward Pyros, who was still slightly hissing in pain. The Haxorus had left scratch marks and small cuts on his back. That's also going to leave a bruise. Zarda offered to help him, but he shook his head and mumbled no. His clothes on his back were also quite scratched up, showing off his scars he's had on his back from dealing with all kinds of Pokemon attacking him, and stopping his own Pokemon from attacking other people.

He looked forward towards the two, his eyes looking stern and his face stoic, as it was a way to mask his pain. Luckily for him, Nokus didn't break anything, but god damn was his own Pokemon strong. At least his muscles weren't torn like last time...

"So... Seven... You are some kind of android? But you are a Pokemon, yea? Also, Colress. What kind of fascinating results? Or is that too above my league for you to talk about? Because I know if you try to spout any scientific words, I'll get lost. I'm a simple man, and a simple man can't think the way you do."

Sedna picked up on the action and returned all of her Pokèmon except Mawile.

"Come on, Kyukon." Sedna ushered her along as Mawile and Sedna took off after Pyros. As they rushed over, she spotted multiple people she hadnt quite recognized at all - people that Pyros was talking to. There seemed to be some sort of tension in the air. Sedna waited by Pyros's side, watching the conversation unfold.

As the Haxorus began to shout at her Master, the blonde's gaze narrowed, however she listened carefully to his words. It was difficult to say which incident he was referring to, but cross referencing with her memory, she concluded it was likely the Mistralton Cave expedition, given that Axew were present. She was in fact responsible for keeping the equipment running at full capacity. Concern furrowed her normally stoic visage. She would then state bluntly, "That must have been difficult for you. You have my sincerest apologies." Blue eyes then focused on the Chandelure as he began to cry, which caught the android by surprise.

Glancing to his assistant, Colress spoke, "I assume they were test subjects?"

With a nod, the woman responded, "So it would seem, yes."

Remaining quiet, the scientist began to record information before finally responding, "My apologies."

Pyros' other Pokémon began to converge on his location, which caused Seven to tense up. It was likely they heard what the two had to say, and it was more than possible they wanted retribution. She kept her guard up, but made no hostile motions. Her gaze then fell to the agonizing Trainer, "You are damaged." At his question, the woman gave a curt nod, "I am Porygon2."

The topic of conversation shifted, and Colress was happy to oblige, "Z-Crystals are the remnants of a powerful being from another dimension. As such, they hold a unique property—allowing a Trainer to share their 'light' with their partners."

Atty's gaze flicked back over to Pyros, watching as the situation with his Haxorus and Chandelure escalated. She couldn't help but wince as Nokus' claws dugs into his back, with no choice but to return the dragon to his ball. She felt bad for his Pokemon, clearly upset by the appearance of Colress. "I don't blame them," Atty sighed, whispering to her own dragon. "Team Plasma was awful, I can't imagine what those poor Pokemon had to go through." A part of her was pained with survivor's guilt, knowing that she wasn't even during the region at the time when Team Plasma had struck down, not once- but twice- leaving her with no proper way to safely get home without going through multiple safety regulations. After Opelucid City had frozen over, it took months for things to return to normal and for the temperature in northern Unova to regulate. Even when she had finally managed to come home back to Mistralton, they were still affected by cold spells and a harsh winter.

Atty tensed up when she felt a pair of eyes on her, belonging to the blonde woman that Colress was with, Cynthia feeling the same once the gaze was dropped onto her. She looked back to the strange girl, noting how emotionless she seemed to be and how static her actions were. Both the trainer's and the Garchomp's eyes tore away from her, now back focusing on each other. "Anyways," Atty huffed, trying to distract herself and not let her emotions get the better of her. "I know how much you hate getting fatigued in battle, Cyn. I made sure to incubate some extra Lum Berries for this upcoming tournament." Her hand went up to stroke the star shaped pattern on the dragon's snout, receiving a nuzzle as thanks from the Pokemon.

A sizable white motorboat with the Aether Foundation emblem emblazoned upon the side pulled into the Ula'Ula port. Though it could have fit a handful of passengers, only one disembarked. Carefully stepping onto the concrete dock, the blonde youth would quickly make his way up the stairs.

Clenching his fist, it was clear that he was annoyed. Frowning, he'd think to himself, I can't believe they tried to make me wear something different! They need to mind their own business, this hoodie is fine...

Hands in his pockets, Gladion quickly shuffled over towards the city proper.
