Celia nudged Val, gently of course, she wasn't one to forget about her certain frail-boned companion. "Heya, you may want a few tips about my brother before rooming with him... Want me to tell you some..? Trust me, they're useful." She said to her, and gave the hesitant looking Daniel an assuring look. "Fine, give her 'tips' or whatever, just don't tell her about the OTHER stuff I do, okay..? I don't wanna embarrass myself more in front of her... Not right after making a... Mm..." "Friend?" "-yes thank you for the help..." Celia and Daniel gave each other a nod, and smiled, Celia shrugging. "Mm... So, lemme pull you aside here..." She took Val by the shoulder and turned away.

Daniel felt the shivers again, maybe it's because he'd stopped blushing, which had resulted in him getting hotter, which removed the need for him to use Pale Light. He activated it again, and this time, every so often, Samel would notice a plume of smoke would puff from his skin, like the heat was "cooking" him... But that couldn't be right...

Doctor Helvita and Professor Rivhard shot each other a look, and Helvita pulled aside Willow and Chris. "I think there's a duo over there you can join. See them over there?" She pointed over to Constantine and Lexi, who were nearby Professor Richard, who alerted the two. "You two, the duo standing over there. (I dunno where they are, it's a general thing). We have two more people standing over by Helvita, go and join them and go out over to the other side of the gym with the other full groups..."

Seeing the girls turn, Samal decided to take advantage of the situation. "I guess since your sister is giving Val tips, I oughta give you some myself.
Jokingly, he made an action as if he was putting on glasses holding a clipboard "Aight, the first step is to find the root of the problem. What about girls make you so terrified that you *ahem* 'metaphorically melt in a puddle'?" he asked.

“Umm... okay?” Val was perplexed, but went along with Celia. Not so much about the sibling banter; she was used to that, what with having a younger sister and all, but with Daniel’s tripping over the word “friend.” That’s all they were, right? Yet she felt herself wondering if that was really true. She shook it off and trotted up behind Celia. “What about Daniel?”

"Just a few things to know about him, really... #1- He isn't a sleepwalker like me. If something's moving near midnight, you're probably just hearing me... #2- He isn't really crazy on boundaries, just as long as you don't throw your crap all over his bed... Err... #3- He likes small talk. I mean, I think he'll at least try to small talk with you like, maybe while you're just laying in the room together, but I think he'll get comfortable with it eventually... And lastly, #4- Take care of him for me, all right? That's all I could ever ask, just keep him on a track toward growth..." She listed off underneath her breath, letting out a sigh. "You got that?"

"Mm... It's... Been pretty rooted in me since I was like, 6. That was before my power's focusing abilities manifested, so my ability was definitely a bit of a bullied one... I think I kinda gained a fear of girls... Probably over time... But now it's not a fear that they might hurt me... I think that's safely out of my conscience... But the hesitation to connect with them... And sometimes... Well, people bringing up romantic stimuli... Just stayed..." He explained, mumbling in a louder volume like he was hesitant to but kinda had to. "I just don't really know what's the deal... I don't hate girls, I've had female friends, and I may have found some of them... Well, cute... I also have my sister, who I'm obligated to like..." He cracked a joke, which like most of the conversatiom was overheard like Celia, merely sighed and mumbled- "love ya' too big bro..."

The janitor startled him causing his system to release an unknown supply of energy instore. It wasn't enough hurt anything but he was sure that he gave the janitor a good shock. From the sound of his voice to way he looked, the guy gave an odd vibe. Obviously the guy could be friendly and Leo just made a huge mistake. Then again the guy did scare him while he just acted out of self defense. Eh, who cares? He's not payed enough to do his job anyways.

"Sorry about that chief, didn't mean to hurt you," he said while recovering from his recent shock. "My mom will be dropping off my luggage later and I'll take that advice now and go the other way"

As nonchalantly as he could he walked away from the situation. Now facing a new problem as he stretches out his hand to open the gym door. Instead of going in as a normal person would he poked his head in from around the corner. "Hello?"

Constantine turned to the boy who had startled them before. “Oh. Great. We got lumped in with him.” He thought to himself, before he responded he tried to hide his discontent. “Well as long as you don’t wake us up with any random explosions, we should be good.” He replied.

“Yep,” Val answered, touched to see how close the sister and brother were. She’d never been that close with her sister. Then she felt a touch of panic. What if he finds out about my violin? That’s ridiculous, why would he care? But what if he does? He’ll probably like it. But what if he doesn’t? She clamped down on the useless thoughts. She’d cross that bridge when she came to it. If she came to it. “Thanks for the tips,” she said gratefully. “I don’t do well with reading people, so that helps a lot.”

"Eh, Daniel's pretty easy to read, I mean, sometimes you may not know what his blushes mean. Most of the time they're when he's embarrassed or frustrated, which are easy to tell apart, but if he's like, crushing, being nervous, or literally going insane, those may be harder to tell from his embarrassed blushes." She explained, shrugging. "I'll leave that shtuff up to you..." She added on, not having much to say unless, Val asked her another question, popping fruit snacks in her mouth.

Daniel was a it nervous, so he opened up a bag of fruit snacks of his own, beginning to pop them one after another into his mouth. He chewed them up and swallowed, keeping his glow faint around him, he didn't like people really "noticing" things like that.

Doctor Helvita nodded at Joseph, and pointed him over to Kitty. "Go say hi and wait with your new dorm-mate. While you won't be sleeping in the same room together, you'll at least interact in your small living space..." She explained, hopefully before he ran off.

Isabella walked over to Doctor Helvita. She had been avoiding any conversation with anyone else, and didn't want to go through the trouble of finding a group. She heard a boy talking to Doctor Helvita about having his own room. She didn't take long to decide that she should also get her own room, if that was how it worked. If she did have to share a room with someone else, she would just not talk to them until they inevitably find out her weaknesses and make her socialise. "Doctor Helvita? Can you put me in a group?" Isabella considered adding a please on the end to seem polite, but it was too late by then. "I don't want to go through the process to find my own group because I don't really think... that people would wanna hang out with me? Yeah, that's right" She couldn't think of a good excuse to hide the fact that she was being lazy, so it took her a while to find something to say.

Samal nodded thoughtfully "Okay, so you're first problem is that you think of girl differently than a boy. I guess it's understandable, but you do want to fix this. I suppose what you should do is, next time you talk to a girl, think less of how you're talking to a girl, and more like you're talking to a human being. I doubt it will solve your problem, but maybe it will help a little?" he explained "You might as well try it with Val."

Lexi already hated this, she had to bunk with this overly loud guy? The only upside to this now was that she would get a sleeping quarters to herself! But... this was a decision made by Helvita, she couldn't just say no. She had no choice but to accept this now, she didn't want to disobey someone with such a high standing.
"...Dibs on sleeping separately."

Kitty looked up to where the noise that she heard. It turned out to be a boy, who said he was going to be bunking with her. She was glad to know that she would only one roommate, as her work would take up most of her space in her room. "Yes I can see that you were talking to the principal over there. My name is Kitty, this is my best friend Rex." She gestured to the golden retriever, who switched out the flat head screwdriver for a Philips one. She then turned back to her gadet, as she was not someone to speak much to others.

"Oh that was you who made that loud sound. You do know that there are other ways to make an enterance without scaring a school full of super powered beings. Not everyone enjoys loud sounds. The names Willow Jadestone, I was told to room with your group as well." With that the moon elf stuck out her hand for them to shake. She was very much a formal person, who did really want to make friends. Though there are times she would rather be in nature then inside. "I will probably spend more time in the forest then in our room. I hope you do not mind that, as I hate to be cooped up inside all the time."

Val nodded slowly, then seemed to forget she was nodding. She stopped abruptly and absentmindedly bit a fruit snack in half. Her mind was in a different place altogether, an imagined bow pressed up against the violin strings of her mind. Hopefully it wouldn't be damaged when the teachers moved it to their dorm assignment. Wherever the heck it was. She ate the other half of the fruit snack. "I wonder what we're going to do next," she said, thinking aloud.

“Mmm... sure Samel, I’ll try it... as I often say, if anything goes wrong it’s all downhill from here...” he said, laughing a bit, but there was nothing comical about his statement. He turned to Val and suppressed his natural instincts. “W-well... there’s at least a couple things... maybe it’s lunch... or possibly some dorm-team exercises... there’s also the possibility of an elective fair?” He said, trying to fade out her gender from the mix as much as possible as he talked.

Celia gave Val a smile, knowing that she’d basically gotten the gist of how living with Daniel would be like... that was good... she continued to eat her fruit snacks one at a time, almost out. They were only small packets...

Doctor Helvita saw and heard Leonardo enter the crowded, noisy gym, and waved him over. She looked over to the trio of Adrian, Saphrax, and Eryn. “Hey! Kid who came in late! We have a dorm group for you! Come on over here!” She yelled out, and then looked to Riley and Henry. “Would you two like to be part of a group? We’ll work on finding two more for you..?”

Something was ringing, it felt so close, yet so out of reach, it was so quiet, then it was loud. Serah woke up to the sun shining on her face, she squinted and, buried her face back into her pillow, "five more minutes", she whispered, but something struck to her mind, that made her jump out of bed. She didn't know what time it is, but she hurriedly put on her clothes, grabbed breakfast and, rushed to her school. Everything makes a sound and, she uses this to her advantage, constantly using her power to navigate her way, most people don't even know she's blind, though the pain is still there, she had to endure it, just for the time being.

As Serah approached the school and, entered the gymnasium, she heard thousands upon thousands of people, or maybe that's just what it felt like. She heard some students talking about Doctor Helvita, and wondered if she needed to go to her too, as she neared the woman, she wondered if she was using her power too much today, and decided to give it a rest. Serah had confidence in herself, she believed she could do a simple task like this, "Uhhh, Doctor Helvita, can you also put me in a group?" Serah's sentence got quieter the more it came to an end, she tried to imitate the other girl's requests, hoping she'd get the same result.

Joseph acknowledge the girl and let her work on the gadget. He decided to repair his shoes after the fiasco. He reached his backpack for the bin that contain his microbots. he finally found the container and activates the microbot and command the bots to repair the complex part of his gadget. After a few couples of a second, the bots were done fixing some parts of the gadget thus he began to repair manually and upgrading the gadget's specs.

Constantine took the elf’s hand and shook it. “I’m Constantine, nice to meet you Willow!” He said before letting go, “I’m sure I’ll be out in the forest a lot too, since it’s probably one of the more safer places to practice honing my power, still a bit rusty...” He explained.

Of course he was already put in a group. Even with showing up late, adults always find a way to compromise. What's even worse about this was he was stuck with group of random people. Nothing like meeting people without being given context of what's going on.

Leo pushed the gym door open so could enter. A wave of noise and knowledge of how tight this room actually is hit him. Still he kept going along until he caught up the other 3 that he was paired up with. He couldn't keep his bubbly personality in, he just had to say something before he got their. "So anyone of you tryna tell me what's going on here?"

Adrian simply turned his head to the newcomer and nodded. "What's up, guess you'll be sharing a dorm with us. We couldn't get a group of four in time, so this kinda like improvising in a way." The vampire explained with a shrug. "Anyway, on to something more important, my name's Adrian Acula. What about you?" Adrian asked with a small smile.

“Any of those sound like fun,” Val mused, “but which one would be more likely? I don’t know, let me see, well...” She lapsed into incoherent muttering for a few seconds then stopped with the conclusion of “Oh well, it is what it is.” She pushed her bangs out of her face and waited for instruction as she finished off the last of her fruit snacks.

Daniel blinked at her quick lapse into incoherent muttering. "Haha... You almost sounded like me when I get too embarrassed..!" He joked, dumping pretty much all the fruit snacks into his mouth and chewing them up, swallowing them all in one big gulp. "People are hard, I don't really read them..." He sighed out, his voice airy as he basically breathed all of those words.

Celia began to gather more water around her hand slowly but surely. Water droplets seemed to be forming in mid-air as well as floating from other sources. Seems she could turn gaseous water into liquid as well... "Mmm, heya Daniel, mind giving me a warm up?" She asked, to which Daniel responded to by putting his hand on her shoulder, and emitting a faint glow. Warmth filled Celia as he transferred his heat into her body, and then after a few seconds he lifted it off, his hand releasing a softball sized tuft of smoke. "Thanks."

Doctor Helvita turned to the new girl, one who'd just walked in. She wondered if they'd droppedd off their stuff the previous night, she's sure that she'd seen her... oh well. "Excuse me, you two..." She turned to Henry and Riley again. "If you two decide to group up, would you mind if this young lady joined up with you?" She asked, pointing to the three.

( @Cmeriwether and @Thomas the trainer i summon thee)

Riley noticed a boy poke his head in, but was too nervous to say something, when Doctor Helvita called for her.

"Hi, I'm Riley, I wouldn't mind." She explained, "I keep mostly to myself, and warning, I could knock out the lights at any moment, quite literally."

------

Eryn noticed a newcomer arrive in the group.

"Hi, I'm Eryn Hathaway, you can call me Eryn."

Eryn was confused as to why she could flirt with the newcomer and not Adrian. She also figured out that around him, she acted a little bit like Riley. She'll have to talk with April later about it.

"No thanks. I have never really been a big fan of pokey. I see that I am not the only one here who works with gadgets. Your nanobots seem to be very capable. Though I will admit that I am a bit old fashioned and would rather do the work myself." Kitty did not look up from her work. It seemed that she could work on the gadget and still talk with others. It also should be noted that she had not given sp much as one look towards her new roommate, but still knew that he had the nanobots working for him.

"Well maybe we can explore it together. I have not been in this section of the world yet, as I come from a very forest bound area." Willow was a kind girl, whose words were soft spoken, and showed her calm disposition.

Daniel turned nervously to Samel, and felt the blush return to his face. "I-I talked to her a little! H-how was that!?" He stammered abruptly, giving a shaky smile. "I am getting good at this aren't I..." He softly said afterward, blushing and turning to Val once again. "Hehe, maybe Oddball squad can be a thing after all..." He said softly, smiling sweetly and scratching the back of his head. "I mean unless you don't want it to be a thing or anything, I get that-" "Daniel shush, you're thinking too much and you're going to give her the wrong idea... Or maybe it's the right idea. I dunno what you're thinking." Daniel hastily took back his statement, but Celia cut him off and sighed.

The Principal stepped up to the microphone.
"Helloooo again! I know this doesn't account for everyone, but time's of the essence today! Everyone approved to leave and in their groups may head, with their group in tow of course, outside to the West Court Training Arena, a red and grey building directly across the parking lot from the door, you can't miss it!"

"I- Uh- you know, ignore everything I said, I was being dumb... Let's just go to the field..." Daniel hastily exhaled. "Hey Val, don't ignore what he said." Celia hummed out in a singsong voice, partly messing with and partly helping out her brother.

"Still I'm sorry it was a stupid idea. I just needed a confidence booster. I see now how stupid that was," he put his head down in shame. He didn't think that his entrance would backfire so badly and scare a lot of people. He decided to bring his head back up and wait for the others to speak so he didn't mess up again.

Henry looked at the people who was in his group. Hi I'm Henry." Henry meekly introduced himself to the group which seemed to be all the stragglers who couldn't find a group. He turned his attention to a girl with brown hair who was rather pretty. "My power lets me change the state of matter." Henry explained. After hearing the announcement he began walking to the arena Henry crossed his finger wishing that they wouldn't have to fight each other. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a card which he read. After reading it he looked up at the girl. "So what's your power, it has something to do with light right?" He asked smiling adjusting his glasses referring to a statement he'd heard her make previously.

Daniel wiped his brow and didn't look at her, but gave a wide, thankful smile. He stretched out once more, having not really walked in a hot second, before hearing Samel quietly ask him that question that he'd secretly been dreading. He took a few second to process, before his eyes widened, his pupils shrunk to tiny little points, and his face turned tomato red. "E-Ehh-! What-! N-No, it's n-not like that-!! I- I don't have a c-cru... I mean n-not on her-!" He loudly exclaimed, stammering as he held out his arms and palms, flailing them about as if he was defending himself, slowly backing away. "Th-that's definitely not t-true! I don't have a c-c-c-crush on Val..!!!" He exclaimed once more, fading into a mumble this time.

Celia really just ignored her brother's little problem, it wasn't her's to deal with... Not at the moment at least but still... She continued walking with the loudly stammering Daniel behind her, pushing open the gym doors and squinting across the parking lot to the big building.

Lexi sighed, she supposed now it was the time for their powers to be tested if they were heading to a training ground. She made her way outside, looking towards the building Helvita spoke of. She thought for a moment: there would be a lot of other students plowing through pretty soon. She decided that there was an easier way to get there. She slowly but surely created a stairway in the air, walking across it with no trouble.
"C'mon, you three... there's no time to waste. I'm dispelling this as soon as I'm off it."

Cornelius- sorry, "Ace" smiled lightly. Finally, a training ground, a place to hone his skills. He stretched his back, letting out a small grunt.
"Well... not just gonna dash off... need to make sure the pack stays together. Then we can get things done."

“A training ground? That would also be a useful and convenient place for me to practice my abilities, so long as it can withstand some damage.” Constantine thought to himself, before realising Lexi had setup a staircase for them to get across much easier. He climbed to the top and over the other side before most other students had gotten there. “Wow, that was a good idea. Saved us all the hassle of pushing and shoving our way over here, thanks!” He said to her with a smile.

Val brought up her forearm to shield her eyes as she headed outside. Oh, crap. So many students! Better get in the air.

Heat rose from the blacktop of the parking lot, providing her with beautiful thermals; takeoff shouldn't be a problem. She glanced around for a fairly open space, and her eyes fell to a stretch of empty parking lot about ten feet. Val looked from the ground, to the sky, and back again, then judged it to be big enough. She felt the thrill she always felt just before taking flight as she broke into a sprint. Muscles propelled her along the ground as her wings snapped out, the black-red feathers catching a headwind at just the right angle, and she leaped!

Air filled her fifteen-foot wingspan as she beat her wings evenly for altitude. She flew up to about twenty feet, then stopped and hovered. Val looked down from the air at Daniel, Celia, and Samal. Her orange-red hair fluttered around her face, framing intelligent, luminous green eyes. "C'mon!" she called down excitedly. She wasn't that high, only about ten feet above the roof of the school, so she didn't need to raise her voice very much. "Let's go!"

Samal's smirk grew even more smug. "I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. If you do, however, you might want to ask your sister for help. I've never had a crush or been in a relationship, so I probably wouldn't be much help."
He raised head toward Val, who surprised him with a clean liftoff "Oh come on! There's no need to flex on the weak." he laughed "Watch, I'll be able to fly like that one day. Except without arms, sadly." he sighed

Daniel was about to stammer something else to Samal, his face slowly going back to its usual shade of red, before Val lifted off. He looked up at her, seeing her stunning wings shadow the sunlight from his view. He blushed deeply as he looked up at her, soaring a over him, even if only a few tens of feet, her green eyes staring back. "Hey-! You don't just get to fly without us!" He called up, and turned to Samal. "I could show you something me and Celia have been working on... It's a technique that allows us to 'fly' using our respective-"

"Already showing him! Samal, grab onto Daniel!" Celia called over, and suddenly, large spheres of water began to gather all over, most from the ocean which was only a mile away. They began to gather at her feet and slowly began to rise her up, forming two large leg columns that cycled the water, brining her up to Val's level. "What's up Sky High~?"
