Open A Small Adventure

The cries of the eevee tugging on Rose's trouser leg reminded her a lot of the way that Oktavia had used to beg for her attention, back when she was little.

Rose allowed the eevee to hide behind her, protected from the glare of a quickly approaching Team Galactic grunt, this time a female one.

The grunt's eyes widened as she laid eyes upon the woman. "You! You're... You're one of them!"

Rose nodded. "Are you going to let this eevee go, or do I have to attack?"

The grunt sharply shook her head, readying one of her own pokeballs. "Team Terra or not, that eevee's mine! Go, zubat!"

Rose locked eyes with Mari, nodding before the drifblim got in front of her mistress. "Mari, use shadow ball!" she ordered.

Ari got up and ran after Eevee. She saw the battle going on. "You have got to be kidding me..." She muttered and went over to the girl that Eevee was hiding from. The Galactic from the woods started running after them.
"Yaaaa! Go, Glameow!" She let out a battle cry, joining her comrade in battle. Ari glared at her.
"Let's go! Quilava!" She shouted, and Quilava jumped in front of the Glameow.

Suddenly a guy in a team galactic captain uniform appeared, he gazed at the running eevee and quickly threw a pokeball. "Drapion use toxic spikes! Don't let that eevee get away!" The drapion landed in front of the eevee and scattered its toxic spikes all around it to prevent its escape. "Now catch it in you're jaws with ice fang!" The drapion dashed at the eevee with freezing fangs to snatch it.

"Crud! Pidgeotto, don't let it get Eevee! Aerial Ace!" Ari shouted. Pidgeotto flew at the Drapion at astounding speed. Eevee ran to its Trainer, who glared at the new person. "Why the heck do you people want my Eevee so badly?!" She shouted.

Rose immediately turned her attention to the eevee behind her, noticing that both she and it were now surrounded by purplish toxic spikes.

"Mari, use ominous wind!" she commanded, "Blow those spikes--And these crooks away!"

The balloon pokemon did as she was told, blowing a sparkling, deep purple gale at the drapion and his owner.

Just for good measure, Rose decided to throw out her skuntank as well, for added back-up. "Kagura, use poison gas!"

"Are you kidding? Eevee is a one of a kind pokemon, it has so much potential for evolution. We need that more of that kind of power for our goal. Now please jsut give it up or else." The galactic captain says smirking ready to give the high level drapion orders.

Ari glared at the person. "Listen, I don't know what the heck you want to do, but I won't give up my Pokemon. You do realize that Drapion's at a type disadvantage against both Quilava and Pidgeotto, right?"

"Don't make me get my other pokemon out," Rose threatened, "I have four more which I can deploy to obliterate you, if need be. I'll give you one last chance. Give this girl her eevee back, or else you will be obliterated."

"Hehe I can see why you would think that, it's a common misconception that he's bug but he's actually poison and dark." He said smartly as he smirked at the three with their pokemon. "I should really take all three of your pokemon, Pidgeotto and Quilava aren't native to Sinnoh after all." He dropped a pokeball and a high leveled Garchomp came out and ran next to Drapion. "'This seems a bit more fare don't you think? Hehe"

"Don't say I didn't warn you," Rose scoffed, "Oktavia, Mimi, Sayaka, Dee, come out and give this guy what-for!"

A glaceon launched an icy wind. A Lopunny shot out a focus blast. Sayaka, a lapras, blew forth a hydro pump, and Dee the minun used thunderbolt, aiming straight for tge drapion and garchomp.

As Joseph was walking he saw the same trainer of "Team Terra" fiercely battling with a Team Galactic Captain and could tell she didn't stand much of a chance. He ran to her side and said to her curtly, "Don't say you have this situation under control; I'm here to help.
He sent out his Salamence and Magmar, having them use Dragon Pulse and Flamethrower.

"Garchomp dig to avoid it! Drapion fire through it all with a hyper beam!" The Garchomp quickly disappeared into the earth and the Drapion shot a hyper beam to collide all of the incoming attacks.

Ari scowled. "You little... Flamethrower and Air Cutter! Swift, too!" She ordered her Pokemon. Quilava sent a column of fire at Drapion, and Pidgeotto flew behind the large purple Pokemon and attacked with Air Cutter. Eevee peppered the ground with sharp stars, even while Garchomp was under it.

(DeltaFlame61, stop making my character out to be useless, please. It's not polite)

Rose ignored the intruder from before, instead dhoosing to focus solely on coaching her pokemon. "Mari, give 'em another ominous wind, and after that, use hypnosis! Kagura, as soon as that Garchomp comes up, use Toxic!"

(Sorry, that wasn't my intention; I'll stop doing that)

Man, that Garchomp and Drapion were resilient. "Alright, Salamence, use Ice Fang and Magmar, use Fire Blast!"

"Hm not bad… but it won't be enough! Garchomp now!" The Garchomp recklessly powered through the swift stars taking the hits and erupted under Quilava sending all the earth with several feet around them burst into the air. "Drapion pin the pidgeotto with an ice fang!" The drapions jaws grew icy as it lept into the air to bite the bird pokemon.

"Now, Mari and Kagura!"

Mari's eyes began to glow a bright white, as clear ripples erupted from her mouth and shot right at the Garchomp. Kagura flooded the ground in front of her mistress with thick, purple toxic goo, aiming for the drapion.

Rose threw her arms to the side. "Now, Oktavia, Dee, it's time for Capitano Potenza!"

'Capitano Potenza' was one of the combination moves which Rose had developed in order to ward off opponents in battle. It consisted of an electrified ice shard, followed by a thunderpunch attack.

With the battle this far in, Rose had to wonder why the Team Galactic captain hadn't recognised her as a Team Terra agent yet..

After the combination Joseph saw the girl just pull off, it was a wonder the foes were still standing. Hopefully they were weakened by now.
"Now, use Dragon Pulse and Flamethrower!" The two beams of energy merged into one and hurtled straight toward the two Pokemon, creating a huge explosion, and enveloping the battlefield in dense smoke.

The captain looking at his two pokemon struggle and fight off the outnumbering odds began to think about the battle. Noticing his pokemon holding out but weakening and realizing they won't last forever in a fight like this. "Hmm a single eevee and a few basic pokemon aren't worth this type of conflict. Drapion, Garchomp, return!" He quickly withdrew both of his pokemon from battle and stood there looking at his opponents teams. "Hmph not bad at all for young trainers like yourself. Even you Terra Agent."

"You mean, Agent Rosalia Lunelini, of Team Terra," the woman corrected, tipping her hat, "Here for the sole purpose of protecting people and their pokemon from crooks like you."

And she returned her pokemon, except for Mari, who floated over to Rose, wrapping her feelers around her shoulders.

"I'd think again before messing with a Team Terra agent, lest you invoke the wrath of my superiors, who are far stronger than I am," she warned.

Ari sighed. "Eevee, you have to come back," She said and returned the small brown Pokemon. Quilava returned to its Trainer's side and bared its teeth at the person. The Grunts had long gone, probably to go to their leader's feet and beg for mercy. Pidgeotto landed on Ari's arm and glared at the Galactic. Ari looked at the 'Team Terra Agent'. "What's Team Terra?"

Rose nodded knowingly, giving the girl a small smile. "Team Terra is an organisation dedicated solely to stopping the nefarious plots of Team Galactic," she answered, "Our current goal is to stop them from gathering pokemon for their new world. Or at least, that's what my job is."

Ari thought for a second. "I want to join," She decided. "If I have anything to say about it, no one should be stealing others' Pokemon. It's like kidnapping a child," She finished. It was true, there was no way that she'd let others take Trainers' special partners. Not if she could do anything about it.

Rose shook her head. "I'm not the one with the authority to make you one of us, I'm afraid," she answered, "But, I can take you the person who is, if you're serious about joining. I'm supposed to be meeting Admin Hyacinth in Hearthome City. I'll put a word in about you, and if you pass her test, you're in.

Ari nodded. "That'd be great, thanks!" She said. Ari knew that she could pass the test. She would definitely try! She smiled, knowing that she could make a difference and stop this 'Team Galactic'.

The girl's spunk was certainly admirable, in regards to the prospect of a new job. But Hyacinth, and the other admins of Team Terra, Ivy and Kamber were no pushovers. The test was extraordinarily tough, and most hopeful Team Terra members fell at the very first hurdle... But something about this girl gave Rose the feeling that she might just be able to pass.

"I'll escort you there right now, if you're ready to go," she offered, "I'll be flying over Cycling Road with Mari, since I don't have a bike."

"Alright, let's go! Quilava, return," She added. It didn't look like there would be enough room on the Drifblim for the green and peach Volcano Pokemon. Pidgeotto, being a bird, could fly alongside them.

Rose nodded. "Mari, you know the drill," she said to her balloon-like companion.

"Blim!" The drifblim answered.

Mari lifted Rose into the air by her shoulders, stopping roughly fifty feet above the entrance of Cycling Road.

"Just follow Mari and I, and give us a shout if you're in any trouble," Rose ordered from above.

Ari nodded to Pidgeotto, who let her mount it. It then took off with a "Pidgo!" and did a barrel roll while climbing up into the sky. Ari was used to this; Pidgeotto could get a little...excited sometimes.

Rose surveyed the ground contentedly, enjoying the gentle breeze as Mari drifted through the air. To some, it was quite a terrifying sight, seeing a pokemon like a drifblim carry a girl through the sky; tales of drifloon and drifblim carrying naughty children away to hell were commonly told to children to scare them into submission in the Sinnoh region. But Rose never found herself frightened of the strange balloon pokemon, most members of Team Terra owned, them, and they were tremendously friendly, as well as useful in battle...

As soon as she spotted the contest hall of Hearthome City, Rose signalled for the girl following her to land, as Mari began her descent.

"Okay, let's land there," Ari told Pidgeotto. It angled downwards sharply and began to dive. Ari loved the feeling of the wind ruffling her hair. A lot of people would be absolutely terrified, but Ari wasn't one of them. When Pidgeotto was close enough to the ground, she jumped off. Pidgeotto swooped upwards, then circled around to come back to its Trainer, who was standing and grinning. Many people looked at her like she was crazy; she couldn't blame them. If Ari had seen that without doing it, she'd probably be wondering if the person who had tried it was entirely sane too.

Joseph saw Ari and Rose heading over to Cycling Road. Curious, he mounted his Salamence and flew after them, overhearing something about Team Terra. "Hey," He called, trying to get their attention. "Where you headed?"

"Somewhere that an arrogant stranger like yourself has no place in," Rose snapped venomously, as Mari continued to drift towards the ground, "Team Terra's headquarters. I've got to see Admin Hyacinth about a possible new recruit."

"Alright, alright," He said, putting his hands up in acceptance. "I have no quarrel with Team Terra. Come on, Salamence. Let's go to Veilstone." He flew away, leaving the two in peace.

Rose was about to make another remark, when her pokegear buzzed. It was a call from Admin Hyacinth! She could not afford to miss this...

"Agent Rosalia Lunelini, at your service," Rose said robotically.

"Lunelini, I need you back at base, now. The boss says he wants a word with you regarding an incident in Eterna City."

"Got it!" The agent replied, and her superior hung up.

She turned back to face Ari as she landed, returning Mari quickly. "The boss wants me at base, right now. If it's about the incident in Eterna City, then I bet that he'll be happy to speak to you as well. Let's get going."

And Rose began to walk towards a tallish building, with a giant leaf crest on the fascia.

"Wah?!" Jason, a brown haired youth roughly 17 years of age exclaimed as he bore into his empty wallet, "we won't have enough to rent ourselves a bicycle after all..!"

Jason's partner, Gallade, merely bowed its head in embarrassment. Jason could only offer the Pokémon an apologetic expression. "S-sorry Gallade, that's my bad..! Looks like we'll need to find another way to get to where we need to go.."

Sighing, Jason and Gallade traversed the streets of Hearthome City, until spotting two girls who looked to be of a similar standing. Despite their hurried demands, he attempted to cut them off.

"Ladies!" he cried out, "you wouldn't happen to have a few spare Poké dollars on you by any chance, would you?"

"Well this quarrel wasn't worth my time, although we have more than enough time even with you're interference but I recommend for you're health and the health of the rest of Team terra you all stay out of our plans from now on. But fate may see us meet again, until then I bid you farewell." The captain says in a sinister tone before exposing a joltik on his shoulder that the uses flash to blind everyone nearby and he soon disappears flying away on the back of a Noivern.
