Pokemon Explorers of Darkness: A New Adventure

(after wasting time at the top of the country, I think it's time to get back to our friends underground)

As the quake shook up the aura dog, Aurax's instincts told him to leap for it. He jumped well short of the edge, but was rescued by Starfall who quickly brought the entire crew to the other side. Almost at that moment, the earthquake subsided.

"And I thought you were one who would normally think before he acts, sir." Tails cracked. Once again, he was ignored.

"I owe you one for that Starfall," Aurax congratulated the bird pokémon, "But there is still one thing nagging me, what was that quake caused by?" Aurax asked, although he knew neither Briar nor Starfall really had an answer. Suddenly, the ground began to shake again.

"I actually think something's stirring somewhere down below." Chimmy admitted. Aurax could see that Chimmy had good reason to think that, the ground went silent the same way it did before.

"We should keep moving, we don't know if these quakes are going to get any stronger. I just hope none of the pokémon down there are in major trouble." Aurax said, he began to run down the tunnel with Starfall gliding close behind, followed by the rest of the crew.

Starfall watched the other pokemon closely, trying to make sure that no one fell over if another quake appeared.

"What... What do you think caused that?" Briar sputtered, shaking.

"Briar, stop shaking. You've gotta keep your balance." Starfall said, nudging the Roserade onwards.

Briar blinked back tears and pushed on, picking up 50 poke on the way. She tucked it away in her pouch.

After going through the tunnel for a while, the group appeared in a huge cavern. The cavern would be flooded with water, if there wasn't something covering it up.

"Ice? It's not even that cold," Aurax whispered, just enough for the entire group to hear,

"I wonder what it would be like if the sun was down here? A warped up vacation spot?" Tails pondered, nobody quite understood whether he was serious or not.

"Either way, this must be the end of the line. The missing pokémon have to be somewhere down here." Chimmy said, seeing that there was no visible way through the cavern. Aurax used his aura to try to see what was at the far corners of the cavern.

"You're right Chimmy, There are five pokémon that probably don't belong down here, over there" Aurax said, pointing somewhere to the left, "Out there" he continued, pointing to the right, "And straight ahead" he finished, pointing straight ahead.

"I don't really like this; it's a bit too quiet, what's underneath this ice anyway?" Chimmy asked,

"Probably water, maybe something's living down there." Aurax said as he stepped on the ice. It wasn't cold at all, but chilly compared to the stone floor he stood on originally. He and the group began to cross the icy lake towards the other side. Suddenly, Aurax saw something move underneath him, he didn't believe himself for a second, and then he realized what was going to happen.

"Get down!" he roared as he leapt back and pushed his students away. At that moment, the ice in front of him broke apart and sent shards in all directions; a blue and beige body flew up, spun in the air, and then came back down dangerously close to Aurax. The attacker was a Gyrados, the famous sea-dragon pokémon feared for its viciousness. No matter what his reasons for attacking the team were, he wasn't going to let them go easily. Aurax quickly used his aura to try to track the Gyrados underwater so he knew where it would strike next. He anticipated that it would come up again under Briar and Starfall. "Move!" Aurax shouted as the Gyrados began to appear under the ice ready for his next attack.

"What?" Starfall called, turning around. Before she could get away, Gyrados came up under her and threw her up. She landed on a ledge, falling on her wind. "I'm okay!" She called.

Briar closed her eyes, and waited for a moment, gathering up energy. She whipped her rose-hands out and unleashed a powerful wave of petals. "Petal Dance!" She yelled, watchin her ray hit the Gyrados, square in the face. He flipped back into the water.

As Briar took care of the Gyrados, Aurax issued orders to his students. "I want you two to round up all the pokémon on the ice and get them out of here, Team Rush and I will keep Gyrados distracted. Be sure to hurry, Gyrados's actions could cause this cavern to cave in at any time."

"Correction, before we get cold feet." Tails commented before heading towards where the group was originally heading to, Chimmy followed close behind. Aurax looked back to see Briar hit Gyrados hard with a Petal Dance. Due to the pokémon not talking up until now, he probably wasn't an outlaw, maybe a resident of the cave driven mad by the previous disaster. Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, Aurax saw his plan has gotten a whole lot more complicated. Out of one of the holes Gyrados had burst open just then; about six Dewgong had emerged with a look that meant they weren't in the mood for a friendly chat. Knowing that if one was to get to Briar, the best of the group to take care of Gyrados, the Rose pokémon could be in trouble. Aurax then began to run towards the Dewgong, picking up speed until;

"Extremespeed!" he called, he suddenly disappeared in a flash of blue as he ran at breakneck speed towards the gaggle of Dewgong. He then followed up by circling the group at the same speed, causing a blue blur to envelope and trap them. He every now and then delivered punches or kicks at the pokémon, battering them in their prison until he ran out of breath. He ran some distance away to slow down and change attacks by focusing his aura and shaping it into a stick. "Bone Rush!" He called, grabbing hold of the stick and shaping the ends to complete the bone. He then ran back at the Dewgong with his bone, ready to strike them down.

A small Tyrouge sat watching the Roserade and Lucario battle the Gyrados. His red, unblinking eyes following their every move. He looked back over his shoulder. Sitting behind him was a Dusknoir, Seviper, and Tropius.

"Are these the pokemon you've been looking for?" He whispered. There was a hint of uncertainty in his voice.

"Yes, Tommy. Thank you. We were worried to death about our lost team mates." The Seviper hissed, his voice smooth and calm, filled with a genuine sounding concern. No pokemon would guess that he was not part of the team.

"Okay. I'll just take my money and be on my way." Tommy said, holding out his hand.

"Oh, of course." The Seviper purred, pretending to reach his tail into the bag.

The Dusknoir snuck up behind the unsuspecting Tyrouge and knocked him on the head with a large rock. Tommy fell to the ground, unconcious.

"Okay, team. Let's go get those loosers." The Seviper hissed, his red eyes glinting evilly.

(hey! What did I do to bring those buffoons onto my tail? It was Team Eclipse that ruined them, not me)

Aurax fought the Dewgong fiercely, focusing on trying to scare them back into their waters. After some bitter fighting, the Dewgong fled into the waters below. Aurax got on one knee and sighed; he had paid no attention to the Gyrados as Briar used a variety of grass moves to knock him off course every time he jumped out for an attack. Well, it was time to finish the Sea Dragon off and evacuate the cave of the 'guests' before any new crisis reared its ugly he-

"Shadow Ball!" A voice behind him called, Aurax looked around in time to see a large ball of dark energy ram him square in the chest and sent him sliding across the ice inches from the icy waters below. Aurax was dazed, he seemed to have double vision and his view appeared to slur.

"Solar Beam!" another voice called, Aurax snapped back to his senses in time to see a bright beam of greenish-yellow light burst through the cavern aimed directly towards him. He dodged this barely, but it made a cloud of smoke that enveloped him and blocked him from sight.

"He can't be gone yet, lets go for the final strike!" the Seviper ordered as he slithered across the ice. He however was intercepted when Tails smacked him in the face with his tail. Tails landed two feet away and began balancing on his tail.

"I used to think snakes could live anywhere but on the ice. Well now, I have been proved wrong. This is why I'm going to put you back where Nature wanted you to stay!" The monkey shot at the snake, the pissed viper tried to bite Tails with one swift movement. Tails responded by bouncing high into the air using his tail, Seviper thus missed his airborne target. "Swift!" Tails roared as he sent down star rays that all made decent damage on Seviper.

"Poison Fang!" the snake called as his immense fangs began to glow purple as he leapt up to deliver a deadly blow to the monkey.

"Force palm!" A voice called from the shadows. The snake was suddenly flung across the cavern and into the wall. Aurax leapt out of the smoke that once held him in and joined his student on the ice. "I thank you for watching my back Tails, but didn't I tell you to escort the pokémon out of here?"

"We rounded them up easily, but that snake and his cronies were guarding the door. They'll strike us all down if we get any closer." Tails explained, Aurax looked in the direction of the cave exit and saw a Dusknoir and a Tropius at the entrance. Chimmy was sidled against the wall close by with the rescued pokémon limping behind him. Aurax considered his options, and then told Tails what to do.

"Go back to Chimmy and make sure all of the pokémon are ready to move. I'll take care of the Seviper for a few minutes. After that, I'll use an attack to make those two scatter. That's when I want you to lead the pokémon up and out as fast as possible. Bring Manetric and Togetic down here as soon as you're done, I don't know how tough these guys are, but I don't want to take any risks." Aurax explained, Tails ran back towards Chimmy to deliver the instructions. Aurax turned to face the Seviper who was slithering back towards his target. Aurax began to glow blue, and that glow turned into purple, "Dragon pulse!" He called as he put his hands close together. His glow left his body and scrunched up into a ball between his palms. He then threw the ball at Seviper and it spiraled into him, sending a shockwave that knocked him backwards even further.

(I just wanted to make trouble for you. ;D No, I'm kidding. I wanted to be part of this battle-thingy. I doubt Team Meanies only terrorised one rescue team, right?
Team Viper's going to be the all-around bad guys.)

The Seviper hissed, his tounge flicking out, tasting the air. The aura dog was right infront of him. His tail began to glow purple and bubble. "Poision tail." He called, lashing out with his tail.

In the meantime, The Dusknoir was fighting Starfall, sending hypnosis attacks at the bird pokemon, wich Starfall always dodged. The high-pitched pokemon was getting frustraited at Starfall's speed, and silently cursed Arceus for creating creatures with such speed.

The Tropius and Briar were in a Razor Leaf battle, each time the two moves would cancel each other out. They were matched in power.

(I believe I said this in a different RP, but now the entire world has seen their Christmas, so I wish that to those celebrating it, and happy boxing day to those who already have)

Aurax didn't attack much, only blocking attack after attack from the Seviper. Eventually, Seviper lost focus and made a terrible mistake.

"Smokescreen!" Seviper called, he opened his mouth and a large amount of black clouds emerged, enfulging Aurax within. However, the snake made the mistake of rearing his head high afterwards, exposing the weak belly underneath.

"Aura Sphere!" Aurax called from the smoke, nobody could see what he was doing, but anyone who knew him use the attack before would know that he put his hands close together and formed a blue orb that he threw at his target. The orb burst from the shadows and hit the Seviper in the weak spot, sending skidding a long way across the ice. Whether he was knocked out or not didn't matter to him. He looked over and saw that although they were fiercely fighting, Dusknoir and Tropius were standing their ground firm; that was what Aurax wasn't hoping for. He launched another Aura Sphere between Seviper's partners, they saw it coming just in time and dodged, and skidding some distance away from the entrance they were guarding; That was what Aurax was hoping for. He looked over to Chimmy and Tails, giving them a wave on. They and the pokemon they had rescued began to dash through the exit back towards the surface. That takes care of the trapped pokemon, now that just left these new assaulters. He admired the sucess of the plan; maybe Treex's tactics were rubbing off on him. Unfortunatly for him, he didn't notice a certain sea dragon rear up slowly behind him...
