"I've never played this game before," Botny stated, "however, I do love games and I'm a fast learner." Botny was very pleased that his apology had been accepted because he felt horrible about his previous actions. Now he was gonna sit and play games with his (hopefully) new friend. He inserted the game, and grabbed a controller before going through instructions, avatar creating, and the like. He looked over and smiled at Zach, just now remembering he heard his name spoken earlier by the receptionist. Botny sat and played splatoon thinking to himself.

Even though Botny was focused on the game his mind wandered. "How could all the rooms be custom designed for each student? Who was in charge? What was the final exam going to be? Would I be able to pass it and be fully accepted into the academy?" he thought to himself. A look of worry shown across his face every once in a while but Botny would notice and return to a playful expression. Even though he was quite good and keeping himself together, his facial expressions were always a dead give away. He came to the conclusion as to keep himself busy until the trial began as to not stress too much. Botny proceeded to laugh, "This game is fun."

Vivienne got to her large bedroom. A large red tapestry draped over the four pillars on her bed. She changed into a red dressing gown. She dove into her silk sheets and sighed with comfort. She fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow. Gran Vals was playing in the distant background as she lay.

After a session of making pancakes shrouded in tense and awkward silence and shovelling the golden discs down his throat, he nonchalantly tossed his plate into the sink, brushed his hands off on the back of his shirt, and trudged past the lunarkinetic clumsily.
He reached his dormitory room with a weighted weariness. Nikolai paused by one of the cabinets and upholstered the battered pistol, closing an eye and peering the tip of his tongue from the corner of his mouth in deep concentration. The barrel was aimed at a Victorian-style portrait of a nameless young woman; it clicked, but wouldn't fire. Satisfied, he carefully placed Theodore's gun atop the wardrobe, kicked off his shoes, and stripped down to his boxers before burying himself beneath the fleece covers of his rather feminine bed. It smelt sickly sweet, like perfume.
He groaned as the history of the pillows, sheets, bedframe, and mattress all came flying into his mind at once and forced himself to look up at the ceiling until the episode passed.

Lux had fallen asleep. Now, something as innocent and easy to do as that might seem fine and good, but it was secretly a hazard for the salt manipulator. See, whenever she did doze off into the deepest of slumbers, much like the one she was caught in then, her powers grew a mind of their own- or, even more terrifying to think about, a mind of someone else.

With her head stuck between one of the few pillows scattered on her bed and an arm, the brunette girl was blind to the world around her, unknowingly letting the pouch that now sat by her foot be kicked from its place, onto the floor, and open, setting its contents free. As soon as three- count 'em- grains hit the carpet, they quickly floated up, accompanied by the rest of the salt from the pouch. The sodium chloride mix created a sort-of skinny base it was able to rise up on, making the body of a Rinkhals, or a Ring-necked Spitting Cobra, which blinked a few times until its entirety was formed. Turning its head to look at the balled-up girl it knew as a friend, Karma decided to see what was on the other side of the door that let light shine through from its connection with the wall.

Slithering over to the door's bottom, the salt reformed for a moment to make Karma skinny enough to fit underneath the base, its body returning once it was in the common room. Moving its head around as it slithered along, wanting to know where exactly it was, even though Lux had told it countless times already, Karma almost instantly noticed the artificial light of a television set, two forms blocking complete view of the screen. Casually, it hissed at the two, lowering itself so its entire body was on the floor, giving itself quicker agility, which it used to head over to the two. 'Standing up' once again, Karma checked the screen, which it could now see clearly, noticing that it was a game it had never heard of... Or had it? That didn't matter. Onto an empty bean-bag chair, the salty snake moved next, coiling into a little ball much like Lux so it could watch the playthrough for a short period of time.

Karma was there long enough to hear some form of conversation between the two humans, listening as one said that he, too, did not know much about the game. Deciding that it was, in fact, getting late, Karma looked up to the two males for a moment before heading back into his shared dorm room, entering the way it had exited. Elongating its body with the manipulative salt grains, it rose to the bed, shrinking down to its normal size before curling up next to Lux's legs, falling asleep not too long after.

Sylphiel greatly enjoyed his sandwich though after the combined time it took to make and eat had passed night had already descended, but there couldn't be anything better for the Lunarian. He returned to his and was very pleased with the balcony that extended out a few feet and had no trees blocking the moonlight. Strolling onto the balcony he sat cross-legged as the cascading light began to gather around him. His eyes closed as his body relaxed and he slipped into a state of inactivity, he would likely not move again until morning, or unless something bothered his 'moon bathing'.
He made an attempt at using Lunar vision and the surrounding area was projected into his mind, unfortunately he could only vaguely make out the shapes of objects as the projection in his mind was far too blurry to be of any use. Sylphiel sighed, he would need to wait until the moon brightened before he could make decent use of his powers. He shook his head in lament and continued to meditate under the moons veil.

Knox was having difficulties sleeping.
At first he had thought maybe it was all down to his body not being accustomed to the extreme comfort the bed provided, a feeling akin to resting on a cloud whilst being wrapped in velvet. Back home he slept in a simple queen size bed, a little run down for sure, broken springs in some places, but he had become used to it over the years and could now drift away into a peaceful slumber in it without any problems. It wasn't the stark difference that was the problem however, he knew that much.

Once more his mind wandered to the possibility of homesickness. That seemed far too unlikely though, It had only been a day after all and it wasn't like he was the kind of guy to stay inside with his parents all day anyway. No, when the chance decided to show itself Knox would rather go creeping round the abandoned factories round the back of his house with his buddy Matty, or perhaps go down to the river and have a quite fishing session to himself. He wasn't any good at it but he enjoyed the sensation none the less.

All at once the discomfort became too much, a dangerous yellow glow lighting in Knox's eyes as he shot upright in the bed, his gaze fixing angrily against the opposite wall. The fire of annoyance died down as quickly as it had come and it was clear to the boy what the problem had been now. Peering under the blanket he could see his powers had decided to force their way out once more, his hands now composed of what looked like solidified shadows and smoke but what he knew was actually millions of tiny crystals, each one black as the depths of space.

He remained still for quite some time, fixated by the sight of his own hands, the way the darkness swirled and shifted as the crystals swapped places and reorganised themselves, something Knox's brain commanded on autopilot these days. It was becoming more common. The sudden shift from flesh to darkness. It's not like I cant control it when I want it to appear though, its me in charge, not the power he thought to himself, his thought seeming slightly too loud in the empty room, the only other sound coming from the artificial terrariums.

Finally and with great effort, Knox rolled over, his hands shifting back to those of any regular seventeen year old boy, and promptly fell asleep. He would need the rest, after all, tomorrow was going to be a hell of a day.

Botny gasped at the sight of what appeared to be a snake. "It's made of salt..." he whispered aloud. He took a breath and realized it must belong to someone here. Looking around he noticed the common room dwindling in numbers. He took his eyes off the screen and rubbed them because it felt like he hadn't blinked in hours. The more he looked around the more empty the common room seemed. Maybe it was time to get some rest.

He looked over at Zach and said, "well this was fun and I really enjoyed this game. Although maybe we should get some sleep we do have the test in the morning so we should be well prepared and we'll rested." Botny looked at the clock, "it appears we have enough time, so take this it'll make you feel well rested and full of energy once you wake up." As he said this he handed over a deep purple flower to Zach, that like his previous flower seemed to sway without any breeze.

Botny smiled at Zach. "Now only use one petal, there's four there for you but one will work in the tine frame we have. You can make it into a tea or just chew on it, however you'd like." He smiled and began walking to his room repeating aloud, "remember, only use one petal." He entered his room, later in bed and drifted off waiting for what tomorrow night bring.

The applicants first day now at an end, dawn broke over the highest pillars of Jaunsma academy, the suns rays setting them ablaze in a white fire of reflected light. The strange mist still encircled the campus but somehow looking straight up all that could be seen was perfect azure skies.

Simultaneously and in every room that housed a student a mechanical hiss could be heard, the sound indicating the arrival of a small, grey and spherical speaker. A burst of static shot out of each one, before a pleasant female voice floated out and gave the morning announcements.

"Good morning folks, we hope you all had a wonderful nights sleep as always! Second, third and fourth years you are to go about your days as usual. The only exception is that those of you who had signed up for the Tokyo trip will need to head to launch bay alpha. As for our potential newest students you will find a member of staff waiting or you in your common room. That is all, have a super day!"

Knox barely managed to comprehend the first half of what was said, he was much too preoccupied with a more pressing issue. His blankets had been torn to shreds, long ribbons of the luxurious fabric now laying on the ground in various shapes. "Fuck!" He had exclaimed as he leapt from the bed, desperate to escape the scene of the crime. It quickly became clear to the boy what had happened, one simple glance at his own body confirmed that.

Both hands had returned to their crystal state, giving them both a more elongated look and the same smoky black effect as always. A look of deep worry appeared on Knox's face, He had never lost control this badly before. In his sleep? This was a very worrying development indeed. As he stood their looking over the blanket massacre his hands returned to their human form, the darkness gradually being eaten away by pink flesh.

Perhaps I'm getting stronger at least? That's good surely? Although control is a lot more important..." Knox pondered aloud, pacing back and forth around his room, eventually coming to a stop in front of his bathroom. A quick shower might clear my head, or at the very least clean it He thought to himself with a small chuckle, stepping into the room and prepping for the day ahead of him by cleaning himself up.

He emerged some ten minutes later, his hair still ever so slightly damp, a full new set of clothes on, ready for whatever today could throw at him. Or so he thought.

Throwing open his door and entering the common room Knox was a little disappointed to see he was once again the first student to have arrived. Standing in the centre of the room was a man who looked almost monochrome, each item of clothing he wore was jet black, whilst his skin was white as freshly fallen snow. Eyes like coal swiftly locked on to the boy, sending a shiver down his spine.

"Uh hey there, I'm Knox, one of the applicants? Ar-are you our instructor for the day?" Knox asked tentatively, not wanting to talk to this man but feeling he had no real choice whilst those eyes were fixed on him in their unending stare. The man let out a loud sigh through his nose, finally breaking his stare so that he could roll his eyes.

"Of course I am numb-nuts. Didn't you hear the announcement? Some people..." The man replied in a rather annoyed tone, as if what Knox had asked had been completely unreasonable.

Knox almost opened his mouth to say some form of snarky comeback but managed to hold his tongue, reasoning with himself that such an outburst would only worsen his chances of getting into the academy. So instead he reluctantly stalked over to the nearest beanbag and sat down heavily in it, glowering at the mans knees without saying another word. One of his fellow applicants could have that joy, Knox wasn't in the mood to be ridiculed.

Nikolai woke groggily, his hair a mess atop his head and splotches of dark purple beneath his eyes. His nose felt like it was running, but turned out to be bleeding after further inspection. He was not a morning person.
He wiped his nose with the back of his wrist and pulled back his bed's delicate curtains, careful not to taint them with his red. He stood and shuffled through his bag's contents, laying a full outfit out beside it - one that would be more practical than his regular formalwear. After stuffing his nostrils with toilet paper, Nikolai made a mental note to request a humidifier for his room. It was only after he had ruefully soiled the frilled bathroom's rug and tiled floors that he had the chance to cleanse himself.
Somewhat refreshed and in higher spirits from his shower, Nikolai changed into a shirt promoting Amsterdam's Red-Light District (all of which was in Dutch manuscript, as to assure non-natives wouldn't be able to decipher its meaning) and grey sweatpants. Convinced he had enough time, he retrieved a small package from the front pouch of his duffel bag and began sorting through its cargo. He gleaned a glossy jar containing a pale liquid. He applied a spot of it beneath each eye and rubbed it in with his fingers, erasing the ghoulish look to his face.
Satisfied, he retracted a pencil-like contraption and unscrewed the lid, running its tip along the edges of his eyes. He quietly slid the two back into their packet and proceeded to hide it beneath the sink.
Nikolai snaked out from the bathroom door and donned his hat, standing on the tips of his toes to reach Theodore's gun. He ran a finger across its barrel lovingly and pocketed it, buzzing with positive energy.
He left the dormitory with a yawn and ambled towards the common room. He saw a student that had been a part of the group he'd intruded on the day before, as well as an intimidatingly stoic man he could only assume was their instructor.
"Good morning," he chimed, making his presence known.

Vivienne awoke naturally, her arm was lightly resting against her forehead. She rolled her legs off the bed and onto the floor. Inside her armoire was a wide range of dresses. She thought of what to wear for today. She pushed the clothes across the rail until she found the perfect one, it was a long satin red dress with a slit on one side of the legs. It covered her shoulders nicely. Vivienne applied lipstick carefully to her dark lips, making them a mystic purple.

She played "Time to Say Goodbye" on her phone and walked out of her dorm. she noticed immediately Nikolai, who was looking a tad awkward. "Everything alright, darling?"

As the Sun emerged Sylphiel's eyes snapped open as he dived through the balcony doors as if dodging bullets. He rolled across the floor before picking himself up then shook a fist angrily at the sun. As his room grew more and more illuminated Sylphiel found less places to hide, to his utter dismay as he holed himself up in the closet he heard as an announcement made itself known over the speakers.

He needed to get dressed, or rather, cleaned, he didn't know about the other students but he lacked a suitcase and the accompanying clothes. Nevertheless that wasn't really a problem, the moon represented purity and he could quickly cleaned himself up using his ability, but wearing the exact same thing repeatedly didn't really seem to be a good plan. Walking towards the bathroom Sylphiel took a quick bath before waving his hand and allowing moonlight to condense into a new set of clothing.

Making his way down to the common room Sylphiel noticed another youth and a seemly annoyed teacher. He waved a greeting before finding the darkest corner he could to huddle in.

Nikolai cracked an easy grin at the beautiful stranger he'd been jeering towards the day before, tucking a few stray hairs beneath his hat. He felt a touch of remorse at his inadequate behaviour, hoping she'd hold no grudges.
"Tired," he admitted, moderately trying to loosen up. "I didn't sleep too well, I guess."
Especially not after learning about the woman murdered on the bed I had to sleep on, he internally commented.
"Thanks for asking. How about you? Did you sleep at all?"

Vivienne smiled. "Like a child." She whispered. Vivienne needed to change the song, this one was getting on her nerves. Hmm, Dies Irae, The Flower Duet, Memory...aha! Danzón No. 2! Vivienne played that and almost started conducting to an imaginary orchestra.

Knox was so lost in his own foul mood that he barely registered the arrival of his fellow applications, somehow even managing to remain unaffected by the sound of Vivienne's symphony of different songs.

That was not the case for the teacher who stood solemnly at the front of the room, who shot an icy glare at her, a warning that was meant to silence the girl.

"Young lady this is no time for music, turn it off or I will do it myself. I will not ask you twice. Do I make myself clear?" He told her in tones that dripped with authority but we're accompanied by a grin that was in no way friendly.

(OOC, sorry this is short, it's just something I did on the bus.)

Vivienne raised an eyebrow at the teacher. Vivienne unplugged her headphones. Vivienne raised her hand a little, and with this swift action, the song raised to an immense volume, it blared throughout the room, making pencils shudder on tables. Vivienne shouted "If you want me to concentrate then I suggest you let me listen to my music. I get an incredible headache without it!"

Very loud music was what shook Lux from her sleep- literally. Onto the floor, she fell, only now noticing the pilw of salt on her bed. "Oh, Karma..." she said to herself, dragging a hand down her face. Grabbing the snake's pouch, which also sat on the floor, the teen used her manipulation powers to pick up every grain from the bed and carpet, having it all fly into the open mouth of the bag. After sealing it shut tight, Lux stood up shakily and walked over to the door, only opening it to poke her head out, since she was in no fit state to be seen- while her hair wasn't the worst it could be, she still knew it needed some work, and she was missing an article of clothing she deemed necessary for everyday activities, if she was to be seen. Brow slightly furrowed, a hint of a scowl on her face, she stared at the woman who blared the music for a moment before slamming her door shut, watching as the pouch of salt, once again, spilled onto the floor. Lux let out a sound of annoyance, cleaning it up yet again before going about her morning routine.

Having found her hairbrush mingling with the set of clothes she bow wore from her bag, she fixed herself up as much as she could, throwing her hair into a long braid. As satisfied as she could be with her appearance, her clothes not really helping this feeling (since they were simple, fully-black, and basically pajamas), Lux tied the pouch of salt around her waist as she exited her room.

Covering her ears at the sound of the loud music, she slammed her forehead against the countertop in annoyance, only noticing the man that stood amongst the teens once she had picked it up again. Actually jumping at the sight she was not ready for, having missed the morning announcements, Lux looked to the other students as a way to ask "what's going on here?", brow furrowed once again, this time in confusion.

As the sound of music was amplified far louder than it had any right to be the look on the dark haired mans changed from one of cold amusement to one that almost resembled disappointment. He seemed completely unaffected by the booming song that filled the entire room as he took a calm step towards Vivienne.

Knox on the other hand was suddenly thrown from his bad mood, his eardrums assaulted by the sudden noise. "What the..." he said with one hand reaching to cover his ears as he jumped up from the bean bag, searching for the source of the volume. It surprised him how many other kids has turned up whilst he was sulking but it was only one of them that had his full attention right now, the admittedly beautiful with headphones that were more like heavy duty subwoofers when you took into account the noise output they had. Or perhaps this was her power?

As he watched the man stalk over to her Knox certainly didn't feel any envy, the dead eyed asshole really wasn't the kind of guy that he would want to have a one on one conversation with.

The man had now reached the spot right in front of young Vivienne, still apparently unfazed by what he was hearing. His ghost like hands were lifted from their place by his sides and he rose them slowly till they were at the girls head height. A sudden grin flashed over the mans features as he snapped his fingers, the sound not even heard above the din.

The effect was instantaneous. The music returned to its natural levels, the kind of volume the headphones could only produce by themselves. This however was not the most important effect, the real show was what had actually happened to Vivienne.

Both her eyes and the mans eyes had turned entirely black, both of them completely still, as if they were statues. The man suddenly unfroze, although his eyes did retain the odd black colouration. Vivienne however, well she was simply left there, completely still after whatever it was the coal eyed teacher had done to her.

"Well I think it is probably time I introduce myself. Im Mr Pistris, I will be leading you all thorough todays trials. I would say I look forward to working with you all but I dont feel lying to you all on our first day together is a good example to set." came the mans chilling voice as he turned to face the rest of the group. "We will be leaving as soon as the rest of your potential classmates get out of bed." he added as he walked over to the rooms exit, leaning against the door frame lazily.

Knox had barely registered what Mr Pistris had said, too enthralled by the effect he had on Vivienne, the girl just stood there, eyes black as space. He gave his fellow classmates a look that quite clearly said "What. The. Fuck.", hoping that the rest of them were just as confused by what had just happened as he was. He quietly got out of the beanbag and backed up away from his instructor ending up between Nikolai and Lux.

What the hell did he to her? he thought to himself as he snuck another guilty glance at Vivienne. Swallowing the lump of fear in his throat Knox cleared his throat before asking as calmly as he could "Mr Pistris.....is she gonna be alright?" as he indicated to the petrified girl.

The teacher looked almost surprised to have heard a voice, and glanced over at the group of students as if it was some kind of great effort. "Her? she should probably be alright, I will free her when we are ready to leave, just in case she gets any more clever ideas."

As much as he didn't like the sound of "probably be alright", Knox held his tongue, not wanting to make the situation any worse by saying something he might regret. Instead he shoved his hands deep into his pockets, fighting back the many, many smartass comments building in his throat.

At the sight that emerged before her, Lux did a double-take, staring at the black, soulless eyes that took over the possessed(?) girl's features. Even though she was in this state, she still looked rather stunning to the salt bender, and she couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy at her appearance and... an unknown feeling. Still, she would not let this feeling stop her from finding out what happened to the girl, and she now stared at the man who had introduced himself as Mr. Pistris. "Um..." she began, awkwardly, watching with a hand on the back of her neck as Knox stood and backed up in her general direction, "what did you just do to her, sir?" Lux asked, back now against the countertop, her braid making her suddenly self-conscious for no reason whatsoever.

Well, of course there was a reason. She just didn't want to say so.

Why did this woman have to be so beautiful, though? Lux would honestly kill for some form of prettiness- that doesn't mean that she was ugly. Oh, no. She just called herself that because she felt it was true, especially now that she looked at Vivienne. But enough about her.

"What did you do to her, Mr. Pistris?" Lux rephrased her question, wishing she could also move away from the man without causing much of a scene. "What do you mean she'll 'probably be alright'?" She tried to keep herself from raising her voice, but she found doing so was a difficult task at the moment, as she was genuinely scared about what had happened to Vivienne.

Feeling the pouch by her hip wriggle slightly, Lux actually growled down to it, but it wasn't loud enough to draw much of any attention to her, especially with all that was going on at the moment. "Not now, Karma!" she hissed down to the baggie, which she knew her snake partner wanted to be freed from. Again, she whipped her head up to look at the other students and Mr. Pistris, a bit paler than usual and a hint of water forming in her eyes.

"She's not dead, is she?"

The question came out before Lux could stop herself. Clapping both hands to her mouth, she once again face-planted into the counter due to her idiocy. "Sorry, sorry," she apologized to everyone in the room, not moving her hands from her lips, "but it had to be asked. Of course she's not dead..."

As much as she tried to consolidate herself, Lux only grew more and more worried, especially every time she looked to Mr. Pistris. His paleness outmatched anyone else's she had ever seen, and his dark clothing choice did not help her suspicions. 'That guy's just plain creepy...' thought Lux, back still against the counter, as she wiped the tears from her eyes. '...And I'm such a wimp... Ugh!... She's fine, she's fine, everything's fine, everything's good, we're all good...'

(OOC: Sorry this is basically trash. I'm really tired.)

With that, Vivienne landed herself suddenly in a Favela in Brazil. Vivienne inhaled and almost gagged on the solid scent of poverty. "Oh. My God." She whispered to herself. Vivienne walked around, trying to get out, but, of course, there was no exit. In the distance, she heard crying, and pain. Arms were thrust toward her, with "Por farvor!" Being repeated over and over to her. Vivenne did the middle-class thing and stuck her hand up and said "Sorry." Vivienne's dress was traipsing along the dirty ground now. Vivienne turned a corner and was horrified by what she saw. It was her mother, but not quite right. Vivienne took one step forward, and in a second, the mother disintegrated into a pile of ash. Vivienne almost threw up, this couldn't be real. Vivienne held a mirror up to her face. The mascara was real, the mascara pouring down her face and into her open chasm of a mouth. Vivienne collapsed onto the ground, in the same postion she was less than an hour ago. Her arm lightly resting on her forehead. Vivienne sang just above a whisper "Deck the halls with boughs of holly, fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la" before entering a swirling climax of pain.

Botny had risen early and showered. He grew a sunflower in his room starting out small but would watch it get bigger as time went on. Hit something to make him feel a tad bit normal. As he lay there on the bed thinking, he decided to finally get dressed.

Botny walked over to his closet and went in. He looked around at what he could possibly wear and all he could think was to wear something comfortable. Not knowing what trial lies ahead it's better to be prepared for most situations. He looked over and pulled out a pair of dark blue jeans, and simple grey short sleeve shirt with pink flower prints on the shoulders and back.

As he got dressed Botny heard a bunch of commotion coming from the common room. "Well I guess others have already got going so I guess I had better join them," he said to himself. As he opened the door he saw a strange looking man with solid black eyes and noticed that one of the other students had appeared petrified. Botny kept to himself and quietly made his way to where the other students were awaiting for the rest of the days events and surprises.

Sylphiel watch the whole thing occur from his corner and in response to all that just happen, he shrugged. If the teachers abilities were simply to cast people into illusions then Sylphiel was going to be the worst student he had ever met, the moon had after all long since been thought of as the cause for sleep, illusions, and insanity, hence the creation of words such as lunacy, and lunatic. This therefore meant that illusions had little to no effect Sylphiel, nor did most abilities that manipulated one's consciousness, what lunakinesis lacked in sheer destructive power it made up for with a myriad of uses and precise control. Though this did not mean he was immune to illusions, if the castor had a reasonable degree of strength Sylphiel could be forcefully dragged into an illusion, though he would be able to escape without too much effort. On another note Sylphiel was quite interested in what type of illusion this girl was being thrust into, thus, he took it upon himself to take a quick peep into her mind.

As Sylphiel's eyes glowed an eerie white, his body shook slightly, and he found himself in the middle of some town, he wasn't exactly sure where in the world this was, or if it was even still earth for that matter. Illusions usually didn't coincide with reality, never the less he scanned the area before his eyes locked on to the figure of his would be classmate who was..... squirming on the ground singing "deck the halls .... fa-la-la-la-la ...."

Sylphiel face cramped as he observed the girl who appeared to be agonized by ..... Christmas cheer? He didn't exactly understand what was so agonizing but she must have some serious issues with the Jolly old man himself if she sings Christmas carols in her nightmares. The situation was beyond Sylphiel's comprehension and he decided it would only get worst if she happened to see him in a moment of clarity, nevertheless she was a classmate so he would provide slight assistance. With a quick snap of his fingers his body faded out of the nightmare(?) and the intensity of the nightmare had decreased ever so slightly.

As his consciousness returned to his body, he glanced at the teacher with suspicion. 'What type of teacher terrorizes his students with Christmas Spirit? Oh well' Sylphiel shrugged, 'whatever works ...i guess.'

Vivienne's makeup was streaming down her face. She snapped out of the trance and sat down immediately. The music was now playing very quietly, Vivienne wiped her eyes and remained silent.

"Oh crap oh crap oh crap...."
This, of course, was the sound of a tired Zachary jolting up from his asleep state. He had happened to fall asleep on the couch, the dead Wii U Gamepad laying on the floor. "Did I miss anything? Is everyone ok? Why do I hear demonic Christmas carols?" He exclaimed as he noticed that everyone, including an instructor, was in the common room. "Oh, sorry about that. I'm all ready, despite not eating or sleeping much in the past 24 hours."

With this, Zachary stood off the couch and strutted towards the group, tripping a few time due to loss of sleep. The thing that caught his eye, however, was a girl standing in the middle, staring into space with unusually black eyes. Of course, this was most likely normal, or that's what he thought. He couldn't think very hard, so that's the answer Zach came up with. It wasn't until the effects of sleep deprivation fell away that he realized that she was in some form of coma caused by the director.

"Disregarding the girl blacked out singing holiday music, what are we doing today?" Zach asked the instructor. Hoping to get an answer out of the pale man, he haphazardly shrugged and tilted his head to signify his lack of knowledge. "Sorry if it was already said. I was kinda, ya'know. Asleep." he said sarcastically. Man, I am not good with first impressions.

(OOC: Sorry it was crappy. I don't have much energy to write currently. I'll get something out better later.)

Nikolai had winced away from his goddess of a companion at the sudden change in volume and nearly stumbled into a wall in his attempts to drown out the sound. He seemed more keen on escaping the ghoul of a teacher who approached the two in order to deal with the situation in whatever way he saw fit nonetheless. Sweat beaded on his forehead and he breathed a sharp intake of breath at the sight of his conversational partner's immobile state.
This is going to be harder than I thought, he decided, dazed and entranced by the ringing in his ears. Mr. Pistris is no man - he's a shark, for sure.
He shied away after she had recovered, too tense to come to her aid. He eyed the teacher fearfully, almost certain that he'd produce the story of a serial killer if the two shook hands.
Nikolai had receded against the wall and stayed completely silent, all his regular charisma drained from his face wearily.

With Lux's onslaught of desperate questions as well as the arrivals of even more students Mr Pistris did not look any happier. He sighed deeply, the sound seeming much louder than it had any right to be due to the silence of most of the students.

"She will be just fine, I simply wanted to shut her up, make my job a little easier. You see I posses the power to manipulate the mind by forming illusions and nightmares. Its all just in her head, the moment I snap my fingers she will be back right where I left her. So lets not get over dramatic huh?"
He said to the group, the last sentence directed at Lux in particular and accompanied by that chilling smile. The illusionist went back to leaning in the door way for a second further, apparently mulling something over in his head as he relaxed there. All of a sudden his mind was made up and he left the room, calling out behind him as he left "Lets get this over with already, anybody who is late will have to deal with the consequences."

Knox was spurred on by these last words, swiftly following the man so he wouldn't have to find out what kind of nightmares he would be subjected to were he to get lost. As the crowd surged forward, following the tall figure, Knox could only think about what trials lay ahead of him. Poor Vivienne was unlikely to be as much trouble as she would have been previously, the poor girl was obviously quite distraught, a sight that made his heart strings twinge a little in sympathy. Still, she had a powerful ability and shouldn't be underestimated. The main problem was that many of the other students hadn't revealed their powers yet so he was left in the dark as to what kind of threat each person would be.

The teleporter was certainly going to be an issue, as well as the plant kid, Botny. Their was Lux as well but as mean as it made him feel he couldn't quite comprehend how the power to manipulate salt would get her all that far. What abilities did the others have under their belts, how woul- Knox's train of thought was suddenly broken as he walked into the back of the teleporter kid.

Everybody had stopped behind Mr Pistris on a big open field with different apparatus and bits of equipment, something Knox had failed to notice in his state of deep thought. "Oh crap, dude im so sorry, I guess I just got a little lost in my own head..." he said sheepishly to the guy he had bumped into.

The closest thing to the little cluster of people was a 100 metre running track, painted on the ground with white lines and with at least 15 lanes. It soon became clear that this would be the first challenge when the dark haired teacher stalked over to it, lazily gesturing for them to line up in a lane each. "Okay kiddies, this is the first section of your physical entrance exam. Its pretty simple, just a race, nothing more. The only extra rule is no harming each other whilst you run, other than that you have free reign over your powers. So line up, we have a long day ahead of us."

Sylphiel was distraught! Physical activity? In the sun?! He was doomed! He couldn't even outpace a sickly toddler while in the sun, much less his classmates. This was madness! how could they do an exam like this!? Sylphiel's face grew paler and paler as exposure to the sun for all of 5 seconds brought him to utter exhaustion.

Should have gotten that umbrella first....

As he picked a random lane, he stood on the line before crouching to reduce the area hit by sunlight, this... was going to be hell.....

Nikolai trudged along like the undead, sneaking glances at the sound manipulator every once in a while to make sure she was tailing with the rest of the group. He rubbed his neck nervously, held his chin as though deep in thought, and dropped his hands to his pockets.
The sun beat down on him the moment they stepped from the mouth of the building and he was forced to squint around to make out any shapes at all. It was the kind of day his mother would scorn him to wear sunscreen and eye protection when going outside.
"But none of the other kids have to do that," he'd complain stubbornly.
"You're not like other kids," she'd insist impatiently.
He felt his heart drop at the sight of the track, lifting his hat to slick his chalky hair back. Him? He, who had a platelet disorder? And no physical power to compensate for it? The air drained from his lungs like a deflated balloon.
He walked to one of the lanes and carefully removed one of his gloves before crouching and putting his hand to the sunbaked course. His eyes glowed a luminescent blue, as did the veins in his neck and temple. He fell back without warning as if caught in a gas-propelled explosion, sputtering out coughs and groans.
"That's it," he announced. "That was my worst idea yet."

Knox sauntered over to the track, his good nature returning to him now that he was getting a good look at Jaunsma's great facilities and being outside, able to feel pleasant sun beams beating down on him from above. "Running huh? Yeah, yeah I think I could handle that." he thought to himself, allowing the smallest grin to form on his face.

Thinking back to his old school P.E lessons he tried to recall some basic stretches, managing to conjure up some odd images of his ironically fat old gym teacher in some seemingly random poses. Opting for the only two he actually remembered he straightened one leg whilst bending the other, working his hamstrings and hopefully preventing himself from a pulled muscle.

Whilst he was doing this one of the boys behind him was actually propelled off his feet by something, presumably a misfire of one of his powers. "Is his power to fly...backwards? That's kind of lame, poor fella." Knox wondered as he tightened his laces in anticipation for the race.

Knox was now kneeling in his lane of the track, not activating his powers as he felt they wouldn't benefit him in any real way in a race like this. He knew he wouldn't have a chance against the teleporter kid but other than that it didn't seem like any of the other kids had any mobility powers. He could still do this! second or third would be nice, even if it was simply so he could afford to fail in some of the later exercises.

In position and ready to run Knox waited with baited breath for the sound of the whistle that would start the race. "Like gym class all over again guys huh?" he laughed nervously, his eyes never leaving the finish line.

Botny had followed along with the other students. He was curious as to the instructor's powers however there was no need to cause any trouble and have him use them. He thought it best to keep a low profile with the instructors unless need be, and focus on passing classes, tests, quests, and possibly make a few friends along the way. However, first he must make it into the academy by completing and passing the final test.

Once he got outside he could feel the energy of the sun. Botny had learned to use photosynthesis to boost energy levels when he would get tired. "This would be perfect," he thought to himself, a chance to use his powers by giving himself a boost of energy for the race, but not showing off too much in case a greater trial laid ahead. He walked over to a starting point and overhearing Knox make a funny about how it was similar to P.E. class. Botny stood at his starting point looking around and watching all the other students take their positions. Some kids seemed to have worried looks on their faces while others, had great smirks across their faces. "As long as I'm not last right?" he said aloud to no one in particular. As he readied himself for the race, the underside of his soles began to glow a dimly lit lime green. His photosynthesis was working.

After getting to the course, Zachary tried to examine it over before somebody nudged him in the back. He looked over, and saw that it was a boy who's name he had overheard, Knox. He quickly apologized, before running over to the track. "Oh, it's fine!" He yelled, before walking over next to Knox.

The track wasn't too long, and he had excersised his powers quite a bit. Not enough to exhaust them, however. It would be hard on him to do this in one stretch, but as long as the next test was more than 10 minutes after, he would be fine. He was pretty sure everyone thought he would win in a race. After all, it wasn't like his powers had too high of a limit.

Looking back at some other classmates, they were readying thier powers. Someone had just flown backwards- most likely a mishap. Botny seemed to be absorbing something, most likely the sun due to his plant-based powers. Some others were trying to pose themselves into a ready position. He just shrugged and kneeled down, into a running form.

The hot and sunny weather was quite a bit annoying. It seemed worse to others, however. In fact, somebody seemed to completely avoid it. However, some of them seemed to be having the time of their lives in this weather. It wasn't too bad for Zach, as he was used to this weather. Steadying himself, he looked around one more time at his opponents.

"Well if I've got a high chance to win this," he said to himself,"I may as well do it on style."

Nikolai flushed a deep red and trudged back the lane, rolling up his sleeves and thrust his bare hands into the solid earth, digging his heels into the dust to keep himself from repeating a similar action. He radiated with varying intensities, but held his ground. Eventually, when he straightened, he stumbled and coughed, looking around the yard in a confused daze.
Who am I again? he pondered, examining the front of himself. He looked to the others inquisitively, as if expecting one of them to produce an explanation. Suddenly he shook his head vigourously and got into proper position with a deep frown on his face. I'm Nikolai, of course.
Had he lost his memory? The moment, although having happened several seconds ago, felt surreal and distant. Had it happened at all? It had never happened before.
"Focus," he muttered to himself. He refused to place last.

Relieved that Vivienne had finally awoken, Lux followed the others quickly out to the running track. Standing behind the painted line on the inside of the track, the girl wondered if there was any way she could use her powers to help her if they were to compete in a race. Not daring to take out her pack of salt in the middle of a sunny, heated track, she resolved to straight-up running, a bit annoyed at the outcome of the perfect day.

Bending down in an athletic, running stance, the teen accidentally touched the track with the tip of her finger. Without hesitation, she threw the burned tip into her mouth, cooling it off in what was probably the most awkward way possible. Not caring about what the others thought of the action, Lux examined her wound, telling herself in her mind that it wasn't even a bad burn- but, then again, what did she expect? Shaking off the sharp pain, she returned to her athletic position, hand now comfortably on her knee instead of anywhere close to the ground. Stretching her legs, Lux awaited any instruction that might come from Mr. Pistris, mentally debating taking a jog around the track's entirety as a warm-up or not.

Isaac finally reached the track. He had, after deciding against cutting the cucumber in front of everyone, and he quickly just isolated himself in his room and fell asleep. He had tried his best to not make contact with anyone, but now he had a choice. He figured he should have made some sort of stretch or something, if he was going to go all out to try and win the rest of his body would have to compensate for the new burst of speed he was planning to gain. He wasn't sure, so he tried his best to properly wake up his body by just moving it around and stood awkwardly on the track, waiting for some sort of signal.

Speaking of that, the teachers here really scared him in some way. He figured he could probably grab a close second, teleporter kid obviously with the guaranteed win. He figured a no power race would be more fair, but it would be hard to enforce that. If this race was important to the entrance exam, this could be a bonus for those with mobility powers, which was really unfair. He always could just run it normally so he wouldn't have to use his powers in front of people he knew nothing about. It suddenly struck him that he didn't know some of the powersets on the track anyway.

Glancing left and right Knox took in the prepared looks several of his competitors were wearing, as well as those who looked slightly ill. Indeed it was Zachary right beside him who seemed the most confident, and why wouldn't he? Bastard wouldn't even have to take more than two steps to win this race after all.

phweeeeeeeeeew

The whistle! Mr Pistris had started the race! Knox felt his body start running before his brain had even had time to fully process what had happened, his limbs pumping back and forth like a well oiled machine. He leapt from his starting position like a bat out of hell, running faster than he could ever remember running in his entire life. Not fast enough.

At the other end of the track Zachary had already finished the race as expected, Botny was really picking up speed, an oddly green glow in his skin and Isaac seemed to have changed form slightly as he sped off like a rocket. Thankfully the more human competitors were still travelling at the same speed as him, Lux, Sylphiel, Nikolai and Vivienne apparently not possessing any sort of mobility power.

The sun beat down on the remaining competitors like it had a personal vendetta against each and every one of them, making the race even more difficult. And to think, this was only the first task of the day! Knox's heart sank as he realised he was feeling himself begin to decelerate about 20 meters from the finish.

Sylphiel took all of 2 steps before turning around casually and facing the professor,
"Ok, I give up."
He then shrugged his shoulders before choosing a location and taking a seat.
Running? pfft, as if Sylphiel would do that, who had ever heard of a Lunarian running in the sun? It was insanity! But this was merely a race and in the first place the teacher hadn't said anything about running. Sylphiel concluded that any method was fine as long as you passed the finish line. Sylphiel's eyes glowed as the temperature around him began to rapidly sink, his lane glossing over with the smoothest of ice.

Running could go to hell, Sylphiel gave himself a firm push as his slid along the ice with little resistance.

Nikolai sped on with his heart in his throat, each step sending him lurching forward. He had ran not so much as 10 metres in his life, but he felt like he was a professional triathlete. Like he'd known this track his entire life. Each move was carefully calculated and the mirror of the predecessors who had run this track before him. Blood coursed from his nose and left a trail of red behind him and he didn't let it distract him.
He could do this. He would do this.

And here we are.

Straight after the race began, Zachary was at the finish. Of course, it hadn't put a strain on him, as he collapsed onto one knee afterwards and gasped for air. Looking behind him, the other students rushed to get to the finish. He was the only one past the finish line. He had won.

"Wooo..." he yelled, before taking a huge breath. Teleporting that far hadn't hurt much, because it was the first of the day. It still took a small chunk out of him, but by the looks of the other postitions, he would have time to recover. The next test probably wouldn't let him win in an instant, but he could only dream. It had to be fair.

Glancing back once more, he gazed over the state of the others. A few of them had their powers active. Botny had a passive green glow, Sylphiel was sliding along ice, and most of the others were just running. "You guys have got this!" He exclaimed, his energy coming back to him.

He felt his body's energy slowly crawling up to him. This replenishing feeling wasn't new to him. He found teleporting even such short distances exciting. He took a quick breath in as his reserved energy for teleporting capped off. With that, he turned around and saw Botny and Isacc nearing the finish, the others not to far behind.

(Sorry this sucked, I did it on my phone at 9:00.
Edit: improved a bit.)

Botny took off running as fast as he could once the whistle was blown. When looked forward he saw that Zach had won. He knew this was inevitable so he tried for 2nd or 3rd. As he focused on his goal he began picking up more and more speed as the sun shone down on him. A green glow began to come from all over skin, and in one last gasp and leap, he had crossed the finish line.

Botny had been so excited he finished he noticed another another student had crossed as well, but couldn't make out who had finished before who. He just told himself it didn't matter, but the importance was in completing the task. Botny looked over at Zach, "that didn't seem too bad for you." He smiled and then said aloud so all who had finished could hear, "good job guys!"

As he stood at the finish line, he watched the remainder of students finish the race. While Botny watched them finish he didn't seem out of breath at all, which was part of his photosynthesis ability. Breathing through every pore in his skin was very beneficial, even though he never thought it would prove useful. "I wonder what we'll have to do next," he spoke softly.

Stella had managed to arrive in time. The girl had gotten her letter late, but so what. Stella's power to jinx people and objects made her unsurprised when it came to bad luck. Stella sighed and turned her attention back to the race. She was currently last, and doubtful that her powers would be of any assistance.
