Hunter X Hunter....
In a world where we have normal people and th abnormal you decided to join the abnormal. You decided to become a hunter. A hunter is someone who is "a licensed profession for those who specialize in fantastic pursuits such as locating rare or unidentified animal species, treasure hunting, surveying unexplored enclaves, or hunting down lawless individuals.".Though you wanted to aim higher, you wanted to be a pro, make your mark, just something that stands out. Little did you know you had to take an exam, and after that somehow figure out what nen is, there are 6 nen types:
Enhancer - Strengthens and reinforces natural abilities.
Emitter - Shoots of projectiles of aura.
Conjurer - Materializes an object out of aura.
Transmuter - Changes quality in aura.
Manipulator - Controls objects and living people.
... Specialist - Gives a person a unique a ability to them and only them to have an upper hand in battle.

3rd: When it comes to missions we needa make a party system I don't know how but a party system so we keep track of where everyone is and so we can get to end game easily.

I probably shouldn't do to the number of RPs I am in, but eh. I am too curious. I'll try to make a bio by the end of the night.

Name: Yukimuro "Yuki" Kurokawa

Do we begin the story at the Hunter Exam? And do our characters know Nen out of the gate?

I actually wanna start out way with the exam and build on from there.

So like here's what I planned.
Endurance Test.
Problem solving.
Strength Test.
Survival test.
Hunting test.

Also mind inviting some friends? Lol

Seems interesting, but uh... I've never seen anything related to Hunter x Hunter. Could I possibly get a laydown on how the hunters work, what is the world like, all that jazz?

I think the first post here is a good enough basic outline, what specifically do you wish to know more of.

Godjacob. Buddy. Your killing yourself with your RP’s already XD please don’t join another

Too late already committed XD. Besides I wanted to be part of a Hunter x Hunter RP for a good while.

Specifically the concept of the Hunters. Based on the divisions they seem to have some sort of powers, right? How do they get these powers? What types of powers are there generally? What's general society like? What usually happens to these people before becoming Hunters? Is the world mostly explored or unexplored?
Basically I kinda need to know what the world of Hunter x Hunter is like :p

@Godjacob Sorry bout telling ya to invite people I would invite people on my own but it's been a while since I been on here so I dont have anyone to invite. But hey at least we have participants lol

Anyways with exam do we wanna start with everyone already there or build up to it?

Hunters is a career path. The main branches of hunters are treasure hunters, those that hunt sacred beasts and those that hunt people. The power they grant is they give you access to the entire world of Hunter x Hunter....areas blocked off to most civilians. Though you need a Hunter's License from the Hunter Exam to gain this access. Nen is the special power of the setting here which is split up into its multiple classes displayed here.

The world is divided up into 6 continents with 250 countries. There are assassin families such as the Zoldyck Family and criminal gangs such as the Phantom Troupe.

So you get the power from being a hunter? It's not a natural thing? Got it. How does that process happen, and what determines the type of power you get in-universe?

You don't need to be a Hunter to know Nen. It is natural and can be taught, it's just the bulk of Nen users happen to be Hunters.

There actually is a test to determine what type of Nen you have. One is given a cup of water with a leaf in it, you put your hands to the side of the glass and wait to see what reaction happens.

If the volume of the water changes, the user is an Enhancer.
If the taste of the water changes, the user is a Transmuter.
If impurities appear in the water, the user is a Conjurer.
If the color of the water changes, the user is an Emitter.
If the leaf moves on the water's surface, the user is a Manipulator.
If a completely different change appears, the user is a Specialist.

Name: Henry "Sandhawk" Ingram
Age: 13
Personality: Henry likes to think of himself as a cool dude, massive ego and all. He is super loyal, but by the same coin he's a massive showoff. He's quick on his feet and quick-thinking as well. Even if his strategies and plans (that he creates on the fly mid-situation) aren't the best, they're still effective enough to get the job done. He's a massive comic book nerd, giving himself a sort of superhero nickname in Sandhawk.
Appearance: Henry has chestnut brown hair, with forest green eyes. His skin is somewhat pale, and he's tall and thin. He usually wears a brown vest over his beige long-sleeved shirt and black track pants with brown lines down the sides. He also has brown shoes, brown fingerless leather gloves and a brown headband. You can probably guess what his color theme is.
Nen Type: Manipulator
Power: 2
Speed: 5
Intelligence: 4
Technique: 2
Cooperativeness: 4
End Goal: Bring law to the lawless through a black-and-white lens of justice. Yeah, this is gonna change during the RP.

Here's my character, Henry. What I'm currently thinking for his Nen is that he can create temporary sand doppelgangers that can serve as either a body double, shield or extension of himself.

I'm shaky on my HxH base, haven't watched it in a few years...not since the Chimera Ant arc. I'm interested though, but I'll need to hold off on Nen until I can get a proper grasp for what direction I want my character to go in. Will get a Bio up by tmrw.

Ah okay (I hope I didn't take Eevee's idea XD)

Yuki's ability is basically she can conjure up weapons. Swords, shields, spears, chains, bow & arrow and other classical/medieval weaponry. Haven't thought of a proper name with it I was thinking like Armory or something. But that is a rough draft idea.

Ooooooh baaaaaaby.
*breathes in*
Smell that? That's the smell of potential...

I'll work on a character sheet sometime soon. Please reserve a spot if there limited.

I actually edited my idea in to the post with the sheet. Henry is basically able to create doppelgangers out of sand similar to Sun's semblance.

Apologies if I'm talking out of place here, but you conjure clones of yourself made of sand?

I hate to say it, but this shows qualities of a conjurer (to generate the sand), emitter (separating nen from your body all together), manipulator (to control it), and transmuter (morphing it to take your form).

It is possible for someone to wield 2 or even 3 types of nen, but its highly unlikely. And even then, its likely that said person can only wield a type of nen that's closely linked to there original type.

Nen compatibility chart....

4Xz0x.png

You see, if your a Conjurer, you could likely gain Transmuter, or even Specialization type abilities easier than say...an Emitter, who would have an easier time obtaining Manipulator or Enhancer type abilities than you. Get what I mean?

Point is, working with nen is very intricate, and you've gotta find ways to wield your nen type without making it overlap with other types.

Again, my foot could totally be in my mouth and this could totally be allowed, and if so, I apologize.

Well, these sand clones aren't really the nen itself. I guess it would kind of be manipulator as well, but I could just change the sand clones to work how Blake's semblance does.

I only watched the old HxH anime. So I spent some time reading wikis before making this XD

Name: Shea Flareweck
Age: 13
Personality: She appear cheerful and friendly. Can be a glutton, though she usually claim that she just has fast metabolism. She likes shiny shings and might have an impulse to steal it.
Appearance: Shea is quite tall and looks more mature than her age. She has black eyes and black hair. She usually tied her hair into ponytail. She wears long-sleeved white shirt and black skirt that cover down to her knees, completed with black leggings. A small blue pouch is attached to her brown belt. There's a symbol of a giant snake coiling coiling around a tree branded on the lower left side of her neck.
Nen Type: enhancer
Power: 4
Speed: 4
Intelligence: 2
Technique: 3
Cooperativeness: 4
End Goal: freedom

Prefer to use her nen to burst her power or speed. Even without nen, she has amazing sense of balance.

I'd like to say a few things as well discuss

1) Everyone up above is accepted even you @Eeveechu151 even though your still trying to grasp what it's about

2) I'm happy to see everyone here has at least seen most of HxH and the series isn't as dead as I thought it was and thought I was the only 1 who watched it

3) I would like to discuss the exam arc just to make sure we're the same page

So the test I have planned are
a) Endurance test - How long can you endure? (Wasnt sure what pain, stamina race like in the actual thing? Someone gimme ideas please lol)
b) Problen solving/Thinking on your feet test - How fast you can make solutions to the situation your in.
c) Strength test - How strong are you physically (was thinking about maybe adding mentally)
d) Survival/hunt test - Surviving out in the wild for 3 days trying to hunt a certain someone taking their tag # away.

Anyways that what I got once we sort all that out we can actually start

I'm still working on the ability, when I finalize things I'll get stuff to you. And I'm not sure about the test, I'll let you guys handle decisions on all that, but I think Henry might be able to beat the second and last test and would fail at the other two.

How about making all test as one? I think prolonged test arc isn't good for RP. So... Hunting each other while having a dumbell handcuffed to your ankle? Or something like that.

Well, just because it has multiple subsections, doesn't mean its not one massive exam.
If we all remember from the show, it was one giant exam broken into multiple parts.
Seeing as there hasn't been a HXH rp on here (to my knowledge), then I think we should keep the same format, but change the actual details.

So all trials take place in the same order, but the goal of each test is much different than in the show.
