Then there is something that I'm curious about. I don't know Devon corporation, have never heard of them in fact, but I cannot help and wonder about how common that knowledge about fossils is? If it's really common then the fact that Knox knows the answers to that question doesn't actually prove anything. But if it's very secret knowledge that only those with close ties to the Devon corporation would know, then how can Jasper even ask that question? How curious...
Devon corp is a company located in Hoenn that specializes in fossils and stones. Fossils definitely aren't rarities though, being found all throughout the world, from Kanto to Kalos (And presumably Alola). I think the only canon regions that have no fossils are Orre and the ranger games, and even then Orre only has nine wild Pokemon to find and the Ranger regions have the fossil Pokemon just walking around.

Also, are you allowed to drink?
I know I really shouldn't be answering this question, but drinking age is quite low in some parts of the world. Brazil, for example, is 18, but it's not really enforced.

Fossil Pokémon are common knowledge. But when it comes to the questions that Jasper asked, he was more or less asking the specifics: most Pokémon trainers around the world would recognise an Aerodactyl and would know what a fossil of a Pokémon looked like if they found one but they probably wouldn't know the specifics: which fossil belonged to who, etc. I was more or less asking a question that only someone of the Devon Corporation or an Archaeologist would know: and considering Jasper's done an odd job or two for the Devon Corp, he has some relative knowledge on Fossils and Dino Pokémon.

Do you think I would be drinking if I wasn't allowed? :/
I really don't know, it was more an indirect way of asking about the drinking laws in your country.

Here in the Netherlands there are only laws prohibiting the selling of Alcohol to anyone under the age of 16, but there is no age restriction of the drinking itself. If you want to drink at say age 10 and somehow manage to get your hands on some alcohol then it's not illegal.

Thanks for clearing that up about the fossils Burble, MozzaD. I guess I just never figured that it was common knowledge that Pokemon could be brought back to life from fossils. It still seems a bit strange if you ask me. Not that it's possible, but that it's common knowledge.

Well if you consider that in games like Black and White you can just walk straight into a museum and ask for them to resurrect a fossil for you, you can see why everyone would know about them

Yeah okay that explains a lot actually. I've only ever played the first Pokemon Blue and no other game, and there it was this whole special deal with a scientist and her unique research and such. Not common at all.

You've only ever played the first gen games? Seems odd you would be in a Pokémon based roleplay then, you should consider picking up some of the others, they're all pretty decent :)

Posted. Hopefully nothing important got glanced over.

It would've been up yesterday, but things came up.

By the way, a couple things:

If you'd rather not have Arrow regain his senses, June could mess up the recipe. She doesn't have a photographic memory, just a good one.

The Diglett can ram into Gerald if you'd rather. I don't mind, but Lin gonna end up back on the floor either way.

You could also use an Emulator to play the games. They aren't hard to find, but for legal reasons I can't share where to get them specifically.

If you'd rather play them legitimately, look for a DS lite. They play Gen 3-5 Games, and are pretty cheap at Game Stop/EB games/Whereever you get consoles from.

I'll do you one better, this is my very first forum RP, ever :D

I know, I've been looking into the games a bit but not sure where to start. I don't think I'll be playing all of them. Heck I don't seem to have the time to play any of them really, but still. :)
Obtaining the games is not an issue, at least not anymore. :\=|:

Then began pawing at the creatures face.

'Hey, hey. Wake up.'

The mental image of June pawing Arrows face made me laugh. :)

Well blimey glad to see you went all out on the first one then XD if you were to play any I would personally recommend Emerald, it is, in my personal opinion, the best Pokémon game to date (not including remakes)

Then Curvykitten, awesome entry, but I want to make you aware of the fact that there are a number of words that are missing letters. You may want to give your text a quick read and edit.

Mrr, the computer I am currently on is REALLY glitchy and slow. It tends to fall behind in my typing. If its to hard to read I'll just go take it down. Granted I may have to just slip away than cause I'm not sure if this computer will be up to what is required here for posting.

It's nothing that bad, no need to be so dramatic. @.@
Your entry reads just fine, and because it's so fine is why those few missing letters stand out, that's all.

I have to wonder though, do I really sound so nasty that people feel they should just quit? :'|

Who is being dramatic hun? I literally have a computer that is having trouble typing at this point. Ignoring the fact that it is missing keys to begin with. I was stating that because I'd rather walk away and try and get something that works for me, before I put up sub par work just to not get left behind.

Yes it was a bit of a back handed compliment, but it has nothing to do with my worry about keeping up with the forum and putting out decent posts. Believe me, I'm a much harsher critic on myself than any of you will be LOL

Actually I am running this rp and I never played past Red. However I have a lot of storytelling experience knowledgable Pokemon experts In this thread to ask and the Google.

Burb the tea will work. Megan getting hit with the diglet is fine

If we're meant to restrict the our dialogue, I'm not sure if I'll be able to portray Jasper's quick wit and smart-ass mouth properly. Do you think if I added something along the lines of, "and after a few more jabs at each other, Jasper moved on to the next topic", we'd be able to be open for a bit more witty jabs/insults?

Have any of you guys got full teams for your character's? I would love to hear them if you do, I'm interested to find out what they would have chosen to accompany them :)

If you look at the previous posts in this thread then you will find many different teams that we have created for our characters, although all of them frequently change.

No that's not what I mean. But you guys will have to find a way to work this out. Currently you're having a conversation with each other at the moments right after the ambush, one about the identities, and one about future goals. I just hope that we're not going to a scenario where the fight with the Slakking is happening, or even over already while you're still juggling those conversations.
-

Salem's Team
Hinako (Nidoqueen - Doreina)
Motherly, protective.

Ajax (Blastoise - Tortola)
Very large and laid back, defensive

Kaguya (Mawhile - Faustuto)
Entitled little princess, tsundere, powerfully offensive

Lenalee (Cherubi/Cherrim - Cerehijo/Cerenino)
Happy little baby that just wants to make everyone feel good and be nice.

Achilles (Infernape - Infimono) unconfirmed
Extra small, highly aggressive and speedy bruiser. Overconfident and taunting.

Jeeves (Exeggutor - Palmeratento)
Casual, fun loving, R&R buddy. Does not fight and will leave soon.
-

Hoping to add one or more of the following:
Minccino/Cinccino (Agicino/Ligecino)
Brave, fast, and adorably quirky

Absol (Cordia)
Mature, wise and tactical

Dratini/Dragonair/Dragonite (Dramino/Dralucido/Draballero) shiny
An adorably baby as a Dratini, Mimicking Cassie in elegance and mystery as a Dragonair, Mimicking Salem in behavior as a dragonite

Lyrana (Lilligant - Flogante) unconfirmed
This one would be a very special one and have an enormous backstory that's still in development, of which the gist is that she's the reincarnated spirit of Salem's sister.

Ah, and so we begin the tragic tale that is Cassandra Michaels.

About several months (six or seven) prior to the Dark Tournament, Cassie owned a full, highly trained, widely acknowledged, elite team consisting of:

A male Ninetales nicknamed Nine, a very wise, intelligent, yet slightly naive and innocent minded Ninetales who acts as Cassie's voice of reason. He has an involuntary habit of chewing things, specifically Ryu's ear, and chasing after small, fast moving objects. He was the one who had permanently disfigured Cassie's hands, though accidentally, as a Vulpix. Since then on, he has become a lot more mellow. Specializes in long ranged and indirect attacks, as well as set ups,

A male Lucario, nicknamed Ryu, an extremely serious, uptight, overprotective dad that Cassie calls a partner. His overprotectiveness stemming from Nine's disfiguring of her hands, and has since inly grown. He was the sole reason Cassie hasn't lost an eye or a limb yet. He has a very strong sense of justice, and kept Cassie from abusing her ability to manipulate people. A well-rounded fighter, with aura detection to his advantage,

A female Roserade nicknamed Jade, very narcissistic and graceful. She lives for her praises, and always does things big. A true showman, specialising in set ups, and indirect attacks,

A female Froslass nicknamed Aurora, then the newest member of the group who was still discovering her place in the team. She is klutzy and ditzy, but she does try very hard. Aurora aspires to be just like Jade, her idol. Very good with long ranged attacks,

A male Swanna nicknamed Ace, a neat freak, clean freak, and group medic. He takes care of Cassie's injuries if she were to attain some, and was her primary means of transportation. Specializing in long ranged and aerial attacks, he mostly preferred to stay out of the nitty gritty of battles and is the team's Tank who constantly prunes his feathers,

And a male Garchomp nicknamed Fang, a trigger happy, bullheaded, loud, boiserous, reckless, and competitive dragon that often doesn't listen to his trainer. He tries his best though, because he hates to dissapoint his trainer, but often gets so caught up in the heat of battle that he forgets his instructions. He is also the reason for the scar under Cassie's eye. Regardless, he was the strongest member on the team, and is the one who can use Mega Evolution.

Cassie has raised, trained, and traveled with them for nearly a decade, and not being the type to catch pokemon to simply stockpile them in PC boxes (she preferred the effectiveness of focusing on only one team to build and grow with, and she did not have a pokedex to need to catch 'em all), they were the only pokemon she ever owned. Each having their own unique quirks, they were like a family that she never had, and over the years she had grown emotionally dependent on them. Of course, then Team Rocket came in and screwed it all up for her.

As a form of interrogation torture during her custody by Team Rocket, Cassie was manipulated by a Hypno to release her pokemon one by one from their pokeballs, and each time she failed to answer a question, they would proceed to have her crush the pokeball beneath her feet, diminishing her ownership of them. Fortunately at the time, Nine had been separated from Cassie during her capture, and she was spared his one, empty pokeball. But with the threat of the Rockets capturing her team instead, Cassie ordered them to get away as far as they can and never return.

So now, all the pokemon she has left is Nine, a Ralts she received from a course she took in a Hoenn university (nicknamed Peridot, which later evolved into a Kirlia to rival Lady's own evolution), and of course, our favorite Liepard; received as a newly hatched Purrloin from Cassie's ex-boyfriend. ;) She accidentally evolved herself into a Liepard prematurely when she found a stash of rare candies during a navigation and survival run through anow undiscovered ruin in Route 15.

I am planning for Cassie to someday reunite with her old team, but, we'll just see how this roleplay goes first.

Well it's unlikely any of us will be battling in this roleplay which is good for me due to Knox's team having a problem with ice and water types, they do seem rather prevalent XD

I have never really considered the combat potential of Salem's team to be honest. I only looked at their personalities and designs to determine if they would be friends with Salem and come along with him voluntarily since he's not a proper trainer. Not yet anyway. It will make a fine story when he finally does begin the life of a trainer and I wonder how many of his Pokemon will go along with that.

Speaking of which, I forgot about:

Jeeves (Exeggutor)
Casual, fun loving, R&R buddy

Jeeves will be one that will just up and leave when things are no longer just enjoyable wandering. That's why I forgot about him. Regardless of if Salem gets his Pokemon back at the end of DT or not, Jeeves will leave.

Ny doesn't mean restrioting dialogue silly. He's referring to the backtracking, which is when you go back and react to what was written or said in the post before you. At the moment, you're sort of caught in a time loop.

Time loops happen when you backtrack what was established in your own post. Jasper is responding again and again to bits and pieces in your own post that you yourself have moved on from, Knox has answered to, and also moved on from. I realize you want to respond to everything, but continuity wise, you can't. You have to let it go and move on. This is why, when you want to start a conversation, you would be forced to limit your actions and progress while doing so, in order to avoid dwelling in the same time frame for too long.

To put it blindly, here's what's going on.

Character A: HI, I'm Michael, what's your name? *sees a butterfly and runs after the butterfly* wow, that's pretty, follow me!
Character B: Oh, I'm Jordan, it's nice to meet you, Michael. *follows after*
Character A: Nice to meet you too!

Now, the third response from character A would not have been possible, because he ran off without waiting for character B to answer. Do you see what I mean? You moved on already from your dialogues, leaving Knox to backtrack, meaning you cannot go to where he has backtracked, and can only do that on the new parts he added. It's a shame, I know, but it really dis turns continuity this way.

My adevice would be to talk more and act less in such actions. If your Character is still there and waiting for an answer, you can, at the most, react to their responses. For instance, you could've cut Jasper'she dialogue to him asking Knox not to move and waiting for him not to respond. Because if you move from it, you have to let it go.

End Pen's guide to backtracking.

Here is Damians usual team, most of them being humanoid fighting types, as thats his favorite type of pokemon

Orion (Lucario)
Damians signature pokemon, Stoic, Calm

Savage (Hawlucha)
Eager, Hot-headed

Aech (Gallade)
Closed off and timid to everyone except for Damian in social contact, in fights however he isnt afraid to get up close and engage

Talon (Blaziken)
Normally waits for an opponent to make their move before he engages

Kai (Hitmontop)
Youngest of Damians pokemon and newly evolved from Tyrogue, his unorthodox fighting style makes him challenging to face

Gale (Zoruark)
Mischievous, constantly pulling pranks in and out of battle, normally plays with her opponent before striking

I was planning on posting them here sometime anyways, just to get who June and Gerald constantly refer to.

-Puff the Lopunny, Male
A fragile speedster of a rabbit, Puff stands at three feet tall, making him the second smallest of Gerald's team and a dwarf in his own species. Puff can be a bit of a brat and full of himself at times, but has been mellowing out recently thanks to certain event that may or may not have scarred him mentally.

-Million the Scolipede, Male
Million is a thick headed yet loyal Megapede, who like Puff takes pride in himself. Unlike Puff, however, he can take a few hits, and dish out quite a deal of damage himself with attacks like Toxic and Megahorn. He fears Fire types thanks to an unsavory experience with a clan of Houndour. The reason he sticks around June and other fiery fox relatives is because June convinced him she was a "Magic" type.

-Empty the Shedinja, Unknown/"Male"
This Shedinja is the Pokemon Gerald's owned the longest. Lazy and quiet, Empty rarely acts on his own volition, preferring to wait on Gerald or whoever currently is a "higher" power to give him commands. Of course, if it gets in the way of his own plans, he isn't very pleased...There's become a bit of a gap between June and him ever after the certain incident previously mentioned.

-Switchblades the Doublade, Unknown/"Female and Male"
These blades are absolutely ancient, clocking in around 250-300 years old. They were found on Kalos Route 10 by Gerald, resting in the ground. His life energy revived them, and they swore loyalty to Gerald. Initially taking pride in annoying June, the blades and the fox have recently been making bridges of trust. Despite previous events causing distrust in Empty in June's eyes, but has become even better friends with the shell as of late.

-Screecher the Noivern, Female
Screecher doesn't like people. Well, most people. It really depends on the person, and vibe she gets from them. Named after her loud screeches, her past times are eating Gerald's belongings (His old hat, for example) and perching on his shoulders. Wild in the soul, and a fierce protector of her pup Violet, the giant bat would jump through any hoops for her daughter. I'm not sure where I'm going to take Screecher, but I'll figure it out eventually. She hasn't even been in a RP yet :p

-Violet the Noibat, Female
Screecher's daughter, Violet has become very interested in humans and human behaviors. This makes her a polar opposite to her mother; not that this weakens their relationship, I mean, they are bats. Also hasn't been in a Roleplay yet, and may not appear in this one either towards the end.. When Gerald is off doing tournaments and stuff, she's placed in the PC. She may show up if he gets jumped in a casual trip.

That's it for now.

Interesting team you got there BurbleBurble. What stood out to me most noticeably was the general direction it's going Type wise. Aside from June there's no elemental type in there at all. It's all the more mysterious types like Ghost, Dragon, and Psychic. I guess it stands out because of how Gerald behaves. I fully expected him to have more lively types like Grass, Water, Fire, and Electric.

I dont remember if I said I was going to wait for another round before or after Delilah introduced everyone to the group so thats why I havent posted yet, does anyone think theres been a sufficient amount of unconsciousness from Damian, I mean I know its really up to me but like I said I dont want it to be underwhelming

I don't think you had to go unconscious to be honest, but now that you are and if you don't want it to be underwhelming I'd say you're going to be out for a while longer. You just just picked a really bad moment to go unconscious when 2 groups meet and you need to give 5 characters time to respond to each other in order for any time to pass at all. :D

As it is Damian went down maybe half a minute before the Nidoking went down, and a full minute before the others arrived. Amara hasn't responded to the initial meeting yet so that's probably where you are about now, with Damian unconscious for maybe a minute of 2-3. How long does he need to be unconscious for it to no longer be underwhelming?

Indeed it is. Mega Gallade X I recommend just focusing on Orion for a while. Perhaps with his trainer down he's going to step up, maybe even interact with Floyd? Swift is stepping on his toes as we speak.
I just wanted some drama :')
That bodes questions like if Damian is out is the group going to be moving? Are there going to be more dangers? Also I guess im just dwelling on the fact that Orion cant speak and it just seems like I'll be posting somewhat small but I can probably work around it by going over detail, then again less is more sometimes so Idk about that either
I probs wont go straight for an hour, maybe forty ish minutes in the story for the sake of my own sanity
