Okay! For my summer, I'm going to see if I can't train at least one of every final-stage pokemon to use competitively. Gonna go through the pokedex, one at a time, and train each pokemon (possibly two of each pokemon!).
So, starting with Venusaur, we already have two movesets. The first:
Physical Venusaur
Venusaur@Zoom Lens/Black Sludge
Brave(Zoom Lens)/Adamant(Black Sludge)
252 Atk/Sp. Def
Power Whip
EQ
Swords Dance
Sleep Power
Basic set up would be Sleep Powder -> Swords Dance -> EQ or Power Whip. Gets walled by flying, but there's not a lot that can be done about that. Leaning towards Adamant/Black Sludge, to keep Venusaur in the battle for longer. The Zoom Lens is to help Power Whip and Sleep Powder actually hit, making up for their lower accuracies.
Put on hold temporarily, until I get around to grabbing something that can breed Power Whip on to it.
Special Venusaur
Venusaur@Black Sludge
Quiet
252 Sp. Atk/Sp. Def
Energy Ball
Sludge Bomb
EQ
Sleep Powder
Again, Sleep Powder to start. Energy Ball and Sludge Bomb for STAB and EQ for Steel, Fire and Heatran pokemon. Still gets walled by a lot, but I didn't expect Venusaur not to. Black Sludge is just to help Venusaur stay alive for that extra turn, where possible.
Special Charizard@???
Modest/Timid
252 Sp. Atk/Spd
Flamethrower/Heat Wave
Dragon Pulse
Air Slash
Solar Beam/Hidden Power?
Hidden power depends on what time. Otherwise, Solar Beam for a Sunny Day team. Flamethrower/Heat Wave and Air Slash for Stab and Dragon Pulse for a strong attack that helps with coverage. Modest for the extra fire power, or Timid for the extra speed to out-speed those pesky fast pokemon.
Physical 'zard
Charizard@Focus Sash
Adamant
Flare Blitz/Fire Punch
EQ
Dragon Claw
Dragon Dance
Dragon Dance to boost Speed and Attack, with the Focus Sash to hopefully allow at least one DD. Flare Blitz has the raw power, but might fall down due to Charizard's lackluster defenses and heavy weakness to rock. Fire Punch lacks some power, but STAB still takes it up to about 100-110 base power, boosted by DD. Dragon Claw for help with coverage. EQ has raw power and helps deal with rock pokemon.
