Private/Closed Sinnoh: Two Years Later (Discussion)

Quite a bit has changed during Cynthia's two-year absence, after being defeated by a young trainer.

For instance, Detective Looker has successfully incarcerated Team Galactic members, along with its executives and even its leader, Cyrus. Due to that success, and subsequently receiving more attention in the press, the International Police have given him a base of operations. This is ironically located in the former Eterna City Team Galactic HQ.

Unfortunately, there is now another evil entity amongst the Sinnoh Region; Vesta. Vesta is the sister of Cyrus, and has been in hiding since her brother's arrest. Little does everyone know, she's been forming a team of her own, and is planning something big for the Sinnoh region, using the remnants of her brother's research. With the same ideals, only an even more despicable personality, the Neo-Galactics are sure to shake up the region.

To everyone's surprise, a new trainer has taken the title of regional champion; Baron. This trainer hails from the Kalos region, and baffled the Elite Four with Pokémon they had never seen before. They were no match for him, and he quickly got face to face with the champion. The battle was intense, but an inevitable victory for Baron, who still remains undefeated.

A pleasant change for once, Professor Dawn has taken over the duties of Professor Rowan in the Sandgem Town lab. Together with Rowan's fellow former understudy Lucas, they now lead the operations of the lab. With the recent increase in immigration, they are set out to collect data on all new Pokémon that roam the Sinnoh region, a task they can not fulfill alone. Which is why today they are giving a few lucky trainers their starter Pokémon, and a Pokédex, to set out on an amazing journey.

One of those trainers is Roman. Roman has lived in Twinleaf Town since he was born, and has always dreamt of going on a journey like this. When they were younger, Roman and his sister Selena, who is three years his elder, would run off to Lake Acuity and train there. Roman used his father's Gabite, while Selena had a Buneary which eventually evolved into Lopunny. His father used to say that one day he'd be getting his own Pokémon, and that he'd become a better trainer he ever was. Today, that prediction would become reality.

That's it for the intro, I made a few changes to the previous one. As for character sheets, I'd like for each of you to have two. One trainer who receives a starter, and one person, it doesn't neccessarily have to be a trainer, who you also control, so that when character one doesn't have much dialogue, you can use character two.

Below is mine. I'm not sure about a second character yet, I'll introduce him/her later into the story.

Name: Roman
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Hometown: Twinleaf Town
Backstory: Roman has lived in Twinleaf Town since he was born, and has always dreamt of going on a journey like this. When they were younger, Roman and his sister Selena, who is three years his elder, would run off to Lake Acuity and train there. Roman used his father's Gabite, while Selena had a Buneary which eventually evolved into Lopunny. His father used to say that one day he'd be getting his own Pokémon, and that he'd become a better trainer he ever was. Today, that prediction would become reality.
Personality: Roman is passionate about battling, and it's all he really ever thinks about. He's quick to make friends, and is a genuine fun person to be around. He tends to be the joker of the group, and tackles every problem with optimism. In battle he has limited experience, but all of the knowledge.
Physical description and main outfit: Roman stands at 5'9, with an average male build. He's not too skinny, but certainly not too fat either. His eyes are ash grey, as well as his hair, which he hides under a black backwards snapback with a Hearthome Hitters, the city's baseball team, logo on it. He usually wears grey comfortable sweatpants, with black sneakers underneath. His T-shirts range from plain black to black with different logo's on it.

I rushed to snatch Chimchar hehehe.

Name: Irene
Age: 16
Gender: female
Hometown: Twinleaf
Backstory: Although her family is originally from Hoenn, they moved to Sinnoh before Irene was born, so she had lived there her entire life, save summer trips to Hoenn to visit her extended family. Due to her family moving from town to town, Irene never made any long-lasting friendships, which shows in her lack of knowledge about being a friend, which may manifest itself in acts of total inconsideration and egocentricity. She was an only child, but recently got a baby brother, named Michael, who she is still getting used to, but loves very much. At the age of 14, she moved to Twineaf town, which is the current residence of her family. Irene's favourite place in the world is Lavaridge Town, where most of her family is from, and it resulted in her massive love for fire-type Pokemon. Quite a match for her fiery personality.
Personality: Irene has a tough time empathising with others. She is independent, to the point where she refuses any help, but also never offers any either. (Like I mentioned, egocentricity - Irene thinks that if she can do it, anyone else can, too). She isn't selfish, but neither is she generous by default - if you ask her for a favour, though, she'll do it. Irene often does things for the sake of it, out of sheer curiosity, or just to prove to herself that she can. Irene doesn't show emotions she thinks are 'weak' - fear, sadness, or vulnerability. Still, her behaviour changed a bit for the better since she got a brother, and thinks more of her actions, but Irene still has a long way to go.
Physical description: Irene is 5'6, and has short, light brown hair, and dark brown eyes. She is also strong, and stable on her feet. Because of Irene's build and haircut, she is often mistaken for a boy, especially by older people. Her choice of clothing doesn't help that either - she usually wears wide t-shirts, most of which she got in Hoenn, so, they have signature Hoenn symbols on them (Irene is quite patriotic for someone who never lived in her country). Her pants range from sweatpants, to jeans, depending on how casual she feels like. Irene never gets out of her sneakers.

Name: Oscar
Age: 18
Gender: male
Home town: Snowpoint
Backstory: Oscar had always lived in Snowpoint, but since he turned 16, he gained an interest in Sinnoh's history, and decided to learn more, and eventually, write a book that holds all knowledge of known history, and possibly discover something himself. After departing from home, his first stop was the Canalave Library, and he stayed in the city for two months. He then visited Celestic town, enjoying the atmosphere there and staying another six months. Oscar visited most of Sinnoh after, not staying anywhere for too long, and journey of 18 months stopped in Eterna town, when he decided to stay in one place for a few months again. There, he gained another interest - Pokemon research, and chose to visit the current Professor in Sandgem Town.
Personality: Oscar is a very calm and collected person, never the fan of conflict. He isn't shy, but is introverted, and often gets lost in thought when in deep research, but also when not doing any work as well. Oscar may seem cold (possible pun???), but is a very kind-hearted person, and will go out of his way to help someone out. He has no interest in Pokemon battles, but likes befriending them and writing about their behaviour. Oscar is also a lone-wolf sort of guy, but only due to him moving around Sinnoh and unapproachable exterior. He has many friends back in Snowpoint, and keeps contact with them.
Physical appearance: Oscar is quite tall, at 6' exactly, and has short black hair, and kind, green eyes. He sometimes wears glasses, too. Oscar is slim, and seems very unstable on his feet (which he is, that clutz). He currently likes to wear brown pants, and black shirts. (what a fashion icon.)

Name: Nancy

Hometown: Hearthome City
Backstory: Nancy is a rich girl who doesn't pay very much attention to anything besides herself and her friends. When she was a child, her family won the lottery in Johto and ever since then she's been very wealthy. When she moved to Sinnoh so her mother could compete in contests; Nancy wanted to go on an adventure and decided to seek out Professor Dawn in Sandgem. However, Nancy has never been in a pokemon battle and has absolutely no trainer experience.
Physical Description: Nancy is very short - standing to 4'11 even with her black high heels. Nancy also wears a silky black cardigan that is always left open and a black skirt that stops two inches above her knees followed by black white tights that lead the rest of the way down. Her hair is blonde and she has blue eyes but she always has a flowing ponytail that leads down to her mid back. Her eyes are an ocean blue that are easy to get lost in. To keep all of her items, she wears a black and white purse as well as a white ribbon near the hair band keeping her hair in a ponytail.
Own Pokémon: None

There's going to be one more participant after you, so inevitably one or two of the starters will be picked more than once if you all had only one character. What I'd prefer is like @Vaporeonn did and have your second character already have a Pokémon of your own, or even your main character. If you really want them both to have a starter, I wouldn't stand in the way of that.

Edit: I also mention 'an increase in immigration of Pokémon from other regions' so if you want your basic Pokémon you'd want as a starter could range from a Bulbasaur, to a Larvitar, to a Ralts, to even an Axew. Let your creativity run wild!

Backstory: After watching his older cousin compete in the Pokemon League, Isaac has wanted nothing more than to become a trainer. He lives in Jubilife - a hotspot for trainers of all kinds. He learns everything that he can in order to make himself the best trainer he can be.
Personality: He is very endearing to fellow trainers and his Pokemon and watches out for all of them as best he can. If he can do anything for anyone he will do it.
Physical description and main outfit: Isaac stands at around 5 foot 7 and wears a red t-shirt with a yellow jacket and baseball cap which he wears backwards. He also has white shorts and red trainers with a yellow backpack.

Hometown: Sunnyshore City
Backstory: Marcus is the older cousin of Isaac. He was a trainer and collected all of the gym badges but now he resides in Sunnyshore after losing at the Pokemon League. He plans to train up his Pokemon and re challenge the gyms to prove to him and his Pokemon that through hard work and dedication, they can be the very best like no one ever was. He is his younger cousins idol and he helps him on his journey across Sinnoh.
Personality: Marcus is very caring and always looks out for his younger cousin. He keeps a cool head but in the thick of a fight he may lose himself and dedicate him and his Pokemon to winning.
Physical description and main outfit: Marcus is 6 foot and wears a black and white Pokeball hoodie with black jeans and white trainers. He has a white baseball cap and a black backpack. He has dark hair and green eyes with a fair complexion.
Own Pokémon: Torterra, Electivire, Drapion, Luxray, Yanmega.

Backstory: Cain was practically raised in the sapphire waters of Olivine, with a love of the ocean and its inhabitants. He had originally intended to travel Johto instead of Sinnoh, but right after he received his first Pokémon from Professor Elm, his sister Arienne requested that he come for a visit to Sandgem. He'd been there before and adores the quaint seaside town, so it didn't take much arm-twisting. However, a few days after his arrival, the ship that he was meant to take back home was caught in an odd explosion the night before he was meant to depart.* This left him stranded in Sinnoh for the foreseeable future. Arienne had been planning on helping Professor Rowan with his research, and suggested that Caspar do so as well.
Personality: While his sister is usually the instigator of trouble, he'd be offended if you'd think he simply follows her around; he has a bit of a mischievous streak of his own, after all, though his charming smile might tell otherwise. Cass is the cooler head and voice of reason, however. He is empathetic and not afraid to be the mediator between argumentative people, as he dislikes conflict and loud noise. He loves being near the water, but being in it is better, if you ask him.
Physical description and main outfit: Cass is a fairly tall boy, standing at about 6'. He has a swimmer's body, with lean muscle but not bulky, and long limbs. His hair is black, and eyes are a stormy blue. In normal weather, he wears a long-sleeved, white shirt with a dark gray scarf tied in a knot near his throat, and dark jeans. He also carries a black backpack with blue trim that he stores his supplies in. Cass wears a Dragon Scale that he found on the beach in Olivine and made into a pendant on a cord around his neck.
Own Pokémon: Totodile (obtained, but they've only been together a few weeks. They have little to no battle experience currently, especially seeing as how they don't exactly get along.)

She pursues things that she wants almost as soon as she sees them, with little regard for obstacles or consequences, and is quicker to fight than her brother.
Physical description and main outfit: She and Cass share an uncanny resemblance, even for family; Arienne's hair is the same shade of black, but much longer and tied up into a ponytail, and her eyes are the same deep blue. She wears a white, sleeveless top and a short, dark blue skirt.

Backstory: Derek is originally from the Kanto region and traveled to the Sinnoh Region to begin another adventure after realizing he wouldn't be able to defeat Red. Growing up, he was exposed to a lot of pressure to become a trainer and so, that's exactly what he is. When he turned 16, he was given a pokemon by a group of breeders. He was given a Larvitar.
Physical Description: Derek is a pretty tall boy, standing to roughly 5'10. His hair is a dark brown always brushed straight back where his hat sits, blocking nearly all of the view of his hair. In the summer time, he wears just a hat, in the winter, he wears his hat with a hood over it. Derek has chocolate brown eyes and wears usually either a black or a light gray sweatshirt over gray joggers and black canvas shoes.

Okay I've finally come up with a second character, praise the Lord.

Name: Quinn (Q)
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Home town: Petalburg City, Hoenn
Backstory: When Quinn was a young boy, his father was a member of the Hoenn Police. He had been deployed to the Kanto region, to deal with the upcoming Team Rocket. In a vicious attack, his father was struck by an executive's Arbok, which left him paralysed from the waist down, and unable to continue his job. From that day forward, Quinn swore to take revenge and become a detective. He enrolled into the Police Academy, and is now on the brink of graduating. For his final two years of his education, he has been transferred to the Eterna City Police Department, to work under the legendary Detective Looker, AKA his biggest hero. Today, he arrived in Eterna City, and has been given the order follow a lead on the rumour of Team Galactic making a return, by going undercover as a trainer.
Personality: Quinn is a very smart person, with excellent physical capabilities as well. He has a gift, as he likes to call it, to spot the danger before it becomes and actual problem, and dealing with it right away. However, he is very quick to suspect something, which could bring him into embarrassing situations if his hunch is wrong.
Physical appearance: Quinn stands quite tall for his age at 6', and has a rather buff physique from training. He is an excellent fighter, and has mastered a number of martial arts. He has long, wild black hair, and hazel eyes. He has a scar running above and below his left eye, courtesy of his father's Growlithe when he was younger. He's normally wearing a Police uniform, but when undercover he wears a pair of navy chinos, black running shoes and a black zipped hoodie.

Sorry if my last post was long. It was mainly due to me not posting in almost a week but one of my Characters had a Gym battle. I used the gym leaders team from The bulbapedia wiki - moves were kept the same aswell. I plan to have my other character battle Roark with his normal team of Geodude Onix and Cranidos when i upload on Friday.

The post was indeed long, but that's not a problem at all! Motivates us to write longer posts as well! The only remark I have is that dividing it into paragraphs would've made a more organised and easier to read post, but I admire your creativity sir!

In order to get the Neo-Galactics going, I'll provide you with some information you could use if you want to control one of the executives yourselves, because in one of my next posts I'm going to start using them.

The executives are Ceres, Juno and Pallas, with Vesta being the leader. They wear the Team Galactic outfits, but they are now completely black, and they added shoulder-, knee- and elbow pads as well as black leather gloves to make them look more serious.

Below are their character descriptions.

Name: Vesta
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Personality: Vesta is even more vicious than Cyrus was. Hellbent on getting her vengeance for him and releasing her brother from Looker's custody, she will let nothing stand in her way, no matter the consequences. She doesn't crack under pressure and always believes she has the upper hand.
Backstory: When Cyrus founded Team Galactic with the intention to wipe out the region and start over, with him then being worshipped as a god, he promised his sister a place on the throne as well. With this belief, she followed in his footsteps and joined Team Galactic. She witnessed everything from a safe distance, not able to be held accountable for his actions. When Team Galactic was nearly compromised, she distantiated herself and began forming the Neo-Galactics, preparing for her brother's imminent capture. In doing so, she's developed a taste for leadership, and wants so seize the throne of Goddess of Sinnoh for herself.
Appearance: She stands at 5'6, but is mostly seen wearing heels that bring her up to a staggering 6'1. She wears the typical Neo-Galactic outfit, with an added mouthmask which has the fangs of a Steelix on it, to come across as more intimidating. She shares her brother's eye and hair colour, with her hair tied up in a ponytail that just reaches her shoulders.
Pokémon: Dusknoir

Name: Juno & Pallas
Age: 19
Gender: Female (Juno), Male (Pallas)
Personality: Juno is a very smart person, with an IQ that rivals the Professors'. Before being taken by Team Galactic, she even aspired to become on of their assistants. Pallas on the other hand isn't as smart, but shines at strength. He has an excellent fighting spirit, which shows in battle.
Backstory: Juno and Pallas are twins, and never leave eachother's side. Pallas is very protective over his sister, claiming he's the eldest of the two because he was born 12 minutes prior to her. Pallas has always preferred brawn over brain, his sister the complete opposite. While he studied sports in school, his sister was an honor roll student in her class. When Team Galactic was active in the Sinnoh region, they were both members of the resistance, and fought them on many occasions. In a battle they lost, their Pokémon were stolen, and the two were captured and forced to work for Team Galactic. Just as every other grunt, they are just following orders.
Appearance: They both stand at 5'8. They look very alike, the only difference being the length of their hair. Their eyes are cognac brown, their hair similar. While Pallas' hair is short and spiky, Juno's is long and curly.

By the way, with Cass's storyline of being unable to leave the region because of the incident at Canalave...I wrote it specifically so that it could have been Neo-Galactic, but could have just as easily been a mechanical error if that's not alright as an addition to the storyline. I mainly wanted an excuse for him to not be able to return home, so I hope there's no harm :)
