July 24th,- Lost at sea
Joyce Blake

Before she knew it, the skies darkened and rain began pouring down. Roaring thunder and flashing lightning soon came down from the sky and alongside them, came the turbulence of the sea. As the waves grew bigger and began crashing against the vessel they were on. Joyce soon found herself losing her footing as she fell back. The young woman let out a panicked yell as she felt her feet leave the ground, her body on its way off the boat’s edge.

The girl closed her eyes and braced herself for impact, but that never came. When she opened her eyes back up, she was standing back on the boat, her Abra holding her with one arm and the rope thrown their way with the other. Teller had managed to teleport Joyce back to safety. At her feet, Sapling and Thorn each stood behind one, supporting their trainer to the best of their abilities. “You guys! You saved me!” Joyce yelled out before grabbing the rope herself. “I can’t thank you guys enough!”

Mom (a.k.a Esther) | Stripes (a.k.a Kasriel – G-Zigzagoon) | Sweets (a.k.a Çiera – Bounsweet) | Pretty (a.k.a Īstha – Feebas) | Itsy ( a.k.a L’Basseau – Surskit) |

SPLASHH!

Pyrrha fought as she sunk into the warm-pond, but despite her best effort and her fightiest flail, all her strength was for naught as she sunk to the bottom. Frustrating!

She looked up and spotted Stripes. He flew through the warm-pond with firm kicks, his paws doing something hers couldn’t and somehow punching the water so hard that he moved! The process of repeatedly punching the water until you moved was called swimming and frustratingly, Pyrrha wasn’t very good at it. In fact, she couldn’t do it at all, even though all her friends could! Well, Sweets couldn’t. But that’s because Sweets didn’t have paws, so that wasn’t fair. Actually, Pretty didn’t have paws either, but somehow, she could swim even better than Stripes! But Pretty didn’t count either, she was so good with water that she could breathe it! Pyrrha liked a good challenge, but she knew when she was beat. She couldn’t breathe water, and when she’d tried Mom had NOT been happy. Pyrrha would know, she could feel Mom!

Oh! If she stayed under the warm-pond for too long Mom would also get worried! Pyrrha flexed her claws and dug into the stone—it was a weak foe, hardly worth her time; it was a bit slippery but nothing her claws couldn’t handle—then climbed the small cliffs that led outside the warm-pond. An easy triumph, a glory-less triumph, but a triumph none the less. Pyrrha relaxed, letting her feathers unhook from each other, and then SHOOOK.

The warm-pond was pleasant, especially the way it soaked into her scale-feathers, but it made her heavy and cumbersome. She needed to be swift and agile if she wanted to seize victory! And her opponent was no slouch, it had already defeated her again and again.

Once all the warm-pond water had been shaken off, Pyrrha turned her attention back to the warm-pond. Her foe had just returned—the floaty-board! The challenge was simple but deceptively difficult! As expected of something Mom came up with! Anyway, you put the floaty-board on the warm-pond and then you could jump onto the floaty-board and it would keep you above the warm-pond. Whoever could jump onto their floaty-board and then go the furthest was the winner. The tricky part was staying on the floaty-board while it moved.

Stripes was really good at staying on the floaty-board, he could get half-way across the warm-pond before his floaty-board stopped moving and he had to swim back. On the other hand, she always wiped out a few seconds after jumping on and needed Itsy to push her floaty-board back. Isty was actually really good at this game, she was so good she didn’t even need a board! She just punched the water so fast she stayed on top of it. It was impressive, but Stripes said she was banned for cheating…Pyrrha thought Stripes just didn’t want Itsy to kick his butt at this game.

Re-focusing on the task at hand, Pyrrha eyed the floaty-board. Mom had taught them all how to ride it: claws retracted, paws spread out, left paw one step forward…or was it right paw one step forward? What was she supposed to do with her tail again? Eh, whatever. Pyrrha narrowed her eyes and charged!

This time for sure!

Arceus, she missed Pari. Without the aid of Telepathy, Esther was reduced to a strange game of charades to communicate complex ideas with her Pokémon. And speaking from experience, fish sucked at charades. Apparently, Īstha thought so too because instead of seeing how many strange flops she could make to explain herself; she had decided to just show Esther the answer. How did she manage to stay so composed in battle when she was a dictionary definition shrinking violet? The answer came out in strange…waves…and…sleepy…

Esther snapped back to lucidity as Feebas stilled. It only took her a few moments to piece together what Feebas was trying to say. She recognized that move since Pari knew it as well, but she certainly hadn’t expected to see it on Feebas. “You know…Hypnosis? And…one word? No…Two words? Alright? Hypnosis and…fish? No—water? Close…? Yourself—Almost…? Oh! Reflection!”

The pieces of the puzzle were gathered. Hypnosis and a reflection…?

“You use your reflection to hypnotize yourself!?”

Bingo.

Esther’s mouth opened and closed, looking a bit like a fish herself. This was…tricky. Feebas was obviously pleased by her work-around and truly, it was a rather clever solution to her problem. But Hypnosis was a bit… Was that really addressing the problem? It was immediately apparent to Esther that Feebas’ self-hypnosis went a bit deeper than just ‘make be not afraid of crowds’. The bass pokémon’s demeanor had been drastically different while under hypnosis and it wasn’t too far-fetched to refer to it as an alter-ego. It was a bolder, more confident alter-ego who was nothing like the Feebas she knew, however barely. The commitment to change was impressive, but the methods…less so. It felt…wrong in ways that Esther couldn’t really put into words. The Pokémon she had used in the Whirl Cup was not her Feebas, it was a hypnotic mask puppeteering her Feebas’ body.

Had Feebas also hypnotized herself before her battle with Reina…? Esther was almost afraid to ask… What would that imply? Was Feebas preemptively Hypnotizing herself whenever she encountered a situation, she would find stressful or unpleasant? How did she determine that? No, more importantly, how much time was she actually spending hypnotized?

Esther snapped out of her ruminations when she heard the door to the Onsen slide open. A mild panic set in—who could possibly be coming to the Onsen at 5 in the freaking morning? These were the female baths, right? Arceus please don’t say she’d entered the mixed baths; she’d just about die of embarrassment!

Thankfully, it was just Naka and…hmmm, did her clothes really hide that many scars?

The Oblivian’s brow furrowed in concern, un-helped by the cast Naka wore which spoke to the fresh injuries she’d received in the Safari Zone. It really wasn’t her place to pry but…

“Huh, sorry, I spaced out for a moment. Feebas’ name? Actually, I did pick out a name for her, and I think it’s a pretty good one!” Esther turned to her pokétch and…oh right, she wasn’t wearing it. Drats! What was Feebas’ full name again? Esther wracked her brain for a moment. Thankfully, she’d needed Feebas rather recently and she could still recall her thought process at the time.

“Her name is Īstha Hâq-Ra! it’s a combination of a dance, the Hadra, and the word Istahaq. Do you want to know what it means?”

Esther’s eyes all but begged Naka to say yes and provide her with a captive audience to whom she could gush to. After all, she had spent quite a bit of time on Feebas’ name and she was rather proud of it and its meaning.

"I had accepted this from a Rotom Phone app. A ranger had asked for help, and I answered."

This wasn't a lie. It was set up by a company, somewhere in Galar, he didn't remember where. But, he noticed a job, and he took it. A reward was in place. He couldn't back down. Not now.

"So, where are you headed then? We might be on the same job after all, just wanted to make sure. Oh right, this is Myst. He's a Floragato. It may be rare around these parts, so I'm unsure if you knew." An awkward smile appeared on his face.

Be cautious, his brain was telling him, they could be dangerous.

He hadn't noticed this before, but they looked like they travelled together, but not for too long. Suppose a third wheel may be in order, was he enough to fit the bill?

Felix Winchester, Stow-On-Side, Galar

It had only been a few days since his win against Emery. He wasn't in Galar for leisure, or for the Gym Challenge.

He was here for important business. His journey had lead him here. And yet... he had to be here for this, a time where everything could change in one battle.

The World Coronation Series was a huge event, where trainers all over the world would battle to increase their rank. The coveted Masters 8 was the goal for most trainers here, seeking to battle The Monarch, or the person with Trainer Rank 1. The winner would receive, or keep, the title, which is highly coveted by trainers.

He went on the WCS app, and registered his name.

CONGRATULATIONS! YOU ARE OFFICIALLY REGISTERED FOR THE WORLD CORONATION SERIES! YOUR RANK IS 126,478!

Pretty good, by his standards. He would have to battle to advance, but it was the least he could do.

He'd need to build a team, a tough challenge for him.

Celia Besnard
July 6th; Route 7, Riviere Walk, Berry Fields, Kalos

Celia accepted the device with confusion before doing what Beatrice asked her to do. She had a sneaking suspicion that she wouldn't be able to get an answer from Beatrice. She didn't allow her annoyance to appear on her face as she went to go help guard the farm. She was used to being told what to do, with no information. It was annoying, yes, but she couldn't complain. Complaining would reflect badly on her and her family. That and her family didn't like it.

Celia heard Esther yelling for help (well, telling them to help), and she rushed over as quick as she could, Luan by her side still. She was met with a Serviper. To say Celia went into a panic would be an understatement. Poison types were, quite frankly, the worst. All Pokemon had the potential to be dangerous, but Poison types were the scariest, in her opinion. She couldn't help but imagine what could happen if she got poisoned. Depending on the type of venom Serviper used could spell out three different dreadful ends. Neurotoxins were the most dangerous of the three, and quite honestly, the scariest. Then perhaps it could have hemotoxins or cytotoxins. All three were deadly, and she didn't want to think too much on the details of if she got bit or slashed with the tail-blade. The Yanmega's death was still fresh in her mind, and she didn't want to risk Luan or any of her other Pokemon. Wild Pokemon didn't care if they killed, after all.

Luan, on the other hand, wasn't having this. 'At least have me Work Up,' he couldn't help but think. He felt annoyed that she allowed fear to paralyze her. She was a trainer, for goodness sake! He somewhat understood her fear from what he could read from her aura, but to let it freeze her in place?! He let himself Work Up, once, twice, then three times as she stood, paralyzed by fear. Things were getting worse for the poor Quaxwell, and Luan was about to go in without orders. When the Serviper was about to use Poison Tail to finish off the duck, Luan rushed in with a Metal Claw, right after the Cyclizar got some distance away and the Serviper had Screeched.

One moment, Luan was by her side, the next he was lunging towards the snake, his right paw a shining silver sheen. "Luan... what are you-" She cut herself off, actually seeing what was actually happening in front of her instead of her internal rantings of the different types of venom that a poison type could inflict on her. She felt Luan glare at her with his red eyes, as if asking if she was actually ready to fight now. "S-sorry. Luan, do you think you could use a Quick Attack?" The jackal pup nodded, rushing towards the snake at blinding speeds. Celia released Dawn. "I need you to Growl, please." The Eevee let out an adorable growl.

July 24th, Jayden Jones, Somewhere in the middle of the ocean.

"We need to get inside!" Jayden called out, pointing at the door leading to the lower part of the boat.

"No good mate! Boat is full of water down there!" The Captain called out as he took a long drink from his bottle of rum. "You trainers, we need a big water Pokemon to help us out. Got any?"

Jayden smirked, "No need, my Magikarp will save us! He must be under the boat right now, getting ready to push us out of the storm."

Buck Sarrow blinked twice as he listened to Jayden and then turned to Hubert and Joyce. "Is your friend, usually this ignorant?" The captain shrugged and spun the steer to try and get the boat straightened again as a wave pushed the boat against another one. "Hold on mates! This will not be the end of the legendary Captain Buck Sarrow!"

The storm exploded, as if challenging the famous captain, creating a giant wave heading towards them in the process. The captain threw his bottle out into the ocean, wiped his mouth and pointed at the title wave emerging before them. "We are going to go through it!"

The crew ran around, trying to get things tied down so they won't fall off as the Captain turned the ship around to face the incoming wave. A Pidgeotto was sent out, allowing him to use Whirlwind to push the sails forward, causing the boat to rush towards their obstacle. The boat began to move upwards the water as the wave rose and the boat along with it.

Jayden watched in amazement as they faced the giant phenomenon of nature. "Go Captain!"

Hubert Lee

Hell - July 24

Shoot! Hubert watched as Joyce nearly went overboard, saved just in time by her Pokemon until she was able to finally get a hold of the rope. Heaving a sigh of relief, he flashed a thumbs up that he hoped Joyce could see through the downpour to make sure she was alright. The captain had called out for the aid of a large Water-Type Pokemon if anyone had one, and Hubert regretted not being able to help. Horsea was a Water-Type known for its surprising strength despite its small size, but it didn't feel right putting Laser to work right away, especially in these circumstances. And JJ...

"Yeah, he's not exactly the smartest guy, unfortunately!"

Suddenly, a flash of lightning illuminated the view in front of the ship, and Hubert's eyes widened as he saw an immense wave take shape and approach the vessel. Was this really happening? However, Captain Sarrow seemed to have a plan, surging with newfound confidence that nearly bolstered Hubert's own lack thereof. Maybe this guy really did know what he was doing.

That was, until he heard the plan itself.

"You said 'through'? We're going through THAT?!"

The captain had sent out a Pidgeotto, which immediately began fighting against the wave with fierce tempests of wind. Any logical person would still have lost all hope in a situation like this, but Hubert, with a begrudging sigh, sprang into action. No matter what happened, he just had to do the best he could and play the terrible hand he'd been dealt to the end. Turning back to glance at Joyce, he eased himself along the rope toward her, reaching out a hand so that he could pull her in closer to the center. If they could secure themselves at the mast, they would be much better positioned away from danger when more turbulence hit. With the ship miraculously starting to climb the massive wave, now was a better time than any.

"It's a lot more dangerous on the edge! Grab my hand, and we'll move to the middle!"

July 6th, Wednesday - Rivière Walk, Route 7, Berry Fields, Kalos Region
Beatrice Esperanza Lazlo

Beatrice prepared to react to the Seviper’s Screech when the appearance of a small blue blur appeared on her pokemon’s vision feed caught her attention. Right after, a familiar Riolu jumped onto the scene alongside his trainer. “Ah, it’s her.” Beatrice pointed out before taking a moment to think. “Hmm, this is good timing actually. It is likely there will be more wild pokemon showing up near here. The commotion caused by our battles can’t simply have done nothing.” She internalized.

Pressing her earpiece, the young woman switched to Celia’s channel. “I’ll leave the Seviper to you, I lowered its attack so it should be a bit easier to deal with. I’ll have my pokemon fend off any other threats that show up, call if you need me!” She declared before switching to her pokemon’s channel. “Alright guys, we’re going to monitor another area. Stand by and wait for me, I’m coming over.” She said as she put away her laptop. Giving accurate commands based on the limited video feeds she had was not ideal anymore, so Beatrice decided it was time she got closer to the action. Picking up her tablet, the girl ran off.

"Clyde Iron Tail! Vallace, follow up with Low Sweep!" Some time passed since the girl and her pokemon left the Seviper encounter with the other girl, Vallace has since been cured of his paralysis when his trainer showed up, giving the water type a Paralyze Heal. The trainer and her pokemon were now engaged in battle with an especially vicious trio of Bagon. Clyde’s metallic tail clashed with one of the other Dragon type’s headbutt, allowing Vallace to sweep in from below and kick the Rock Head pokemon away. The knocked back pokemon was joined by its brethren, all snarling at the opposing trio. Beatrice glanced down at her tablet, based on her Rotom’s feed, Azumi and Monty appeared to be on their way back and will be arriving soon. “Good, backup will be here before long.”

The Bagons were surprisingly tough despite their size, but her situation was definitely better than Esther a bit further off who had to deal with a very powerful Manectric based on the girl’s observations. “Let’s keep up the attack!” Beatrice yelled, her pokemon lowering their stances in response. The Bagons responded in kind and all began charging at Beatrice and her pokemon.

Montagne Khastil
July 6 Rivière Walk (Route 7), Kalos

"Hmm? Yeah, uh, ok." Monty was only half-paying attention to the tall guy's story about a cellphone or something. They were close enough to the farm now that the sound of battle started making its way to the gangster's ears, and his eyes narrowed when he spotted scattered explosions and lightning arcing over the trees towards the back half of the field. They needed to get there, quick.

"We've got a mess to clean up at that farm," the criminal stated bluntly as Roy began to pick up speed. "Steer clear if you don't wan't to get caught in it." 'If you know what's good for you' was more like it, but Monty left that unsaid with Azumi there. If the guy was there all the way from Galar to help handle the swarm, then he was definitely a strong trainer—strong enough to be major competition for the Yanma bounties.

Roy brought the pair to the farm in a flash, and from the gate Monty could see the defending group had their work cut out for them. At least one of the girls was engaged in battle, but closest to them was—

Holy shit, this Celia girl was more hardcore than he gave her credit for! A scattering of defeated Sevipers lay slumped on the ground around her and her team, apparently defeated by that little blue dog of her's. What did she call it again? Lang? Luan?

Either way, Monty was impressed! They couldn't stop to admire her handiwork for long, though, so the criminal just flashed her a thumbs up as Roy carried them deeper into the farm toward the source of the explosions. By the looks and sound of it, neither of the other girls was faring as well. Flashes of light caught Monty's eye through the treeline, and the lightning down the way wasn't letting up, either.

"Let's split up," the criminal announced to Azumi abruptly, slipping off of Roy to investigate. "Knowing Esther she's at the source of all that flashy lightning. Head over there, I'll check on that other girl." Yeah, knowing Esther she was at the source and she'd have it taken care of by the time Azumi got there—he wouldn't be able to get in on the action!

Monty took off running and found his intuition was correct. The other new girl and her team were up against a handful of...somethings. Strong-looking somethings. Magnifique!

"CHAUFFE, HOWL! ORACLE, PLAY ROUGH!"

With twin flashes of light and a flick of his wrist, Monty's battlers took to their domain. Oracle <Pressure> immediately blanketed the area with its stifling weight, and as she rushed in to batter the nearest blue-and-gray-thing her subordinate unleashed a bone-chilling, "AROOOO!"

Interactions: Esther (kyuukestu)

Stretching as she got comfortable within the steamy hot baths, her eyes drooped from the little sleep she gotten. She yawned, waving at Esther and noticing her usual calm demeanor from earlier was filled with pride, mischief, happiness, and some destructive desire as soon as she walked in the room. She chuckled at the emotions, looking at her Feebas and Surskit specifically as they drowned some of her calmness. She watched her other Pokemon relax or play about, chuckling as it seemed her Jangmo-o and Galarian Zigzagoon were trying to jump on a floatie board in the middle of the pool.

As Esther spoke about Feebas's name, Naka raised an eyebrow at her sudden bubbly attitude, only to chuckle when it seemed like Esther was forgetting the name she just chose for the fish. Then, she finally said it. "Īstha Hâq-Ra? Such a long name." She chuckled from the amusement she found in it. Nobody really gave their Pokemon such long names. Though her smile showed her enjoyment regardless - or maybe that was Esther's two Water-Types. "Such long names, I assume you do it for some uniqueness and to show your care for them, hm?" She then looked up and hummed, trying to contain herself as her two Water-Types' excitement fueled her with energy and disrupting her calm. "I don't think I've ever heard of those words before, but they do sound beautiful with a hint of mystique. Perfect for your beautiful fish, and I'm not saying that just because she's shiny. Please, tell me about your names and how you met your Pokemon." She wanted to see who else Esther was, and she was clearly interested in what she had to say.

Naka knew what she was doing when she said those compliments for Īstha, but their meaning was no less genuine. She meant it, that sparkling luster of Feebas's scales showed just how well she had been treated by Esther. And if that wasn't Esther, maintaining that must have been difficult. It wasn't because she knew Esther's Feebas at all, but because if she looked like a swimming barnacle who transformed into something so elegant that people would end up catching her just for her evolution to compete in beauty shows and pageants... Well, she assumed most Feebas felt that they were inferior in some way; only good for evolution.

Honestly, the only thing Feebas had over another "useless" yet similar Pokemon like Magikarp was being able to learn a wider variety of moves to make them actually viable in a fight before evolution. Of course, that's where differences ended. Magikarp were useless but were caught to become ferocious serpents. Feebas were marginally less useless but were caught to become the personification of elegance. A sad cycle to live in, and the thought was only worse if the Feebas (of which she had no idea of Īstha's origins) had seen the selfishness of human desire. But she wanted to be careful, lest she offended the poor fish. She didn't want to set back her process of evolving it if Esther went about doing so.

Meanwhile, Brontis the Chikorita stretched as he walked out of the room Naka came from, shaking his body as the steam tickled him. He sat beside Naka, trilling as he rubbed Naka's shoulder and head affectionately, earning a chuckle from his new trainer and a soothing scratch of a finger to his neck. "Hello, Brontis." Naka said calmly, thankful that Brontis's aroma was here, now that she can think a little clearer without finding herself scheming for some god-awful reason.

Cayde Winchester, Route 7, Kalos

He could hear the explosions in the farm. Rather audible. This was the location that the app mentioned, right? Of course, Cayde knew that this guy saw him as competition. But, boy, he wasn't. He just wanted a Mystery Reward, but it appeared the guy didn't know that. So, just to show him, he ran up to the farm...

Yanma. Everywhere.

This was not a part of the job dtpion, b and brought Hawlucha into the fight.

"All right, use Hone Claws, and follow it up with Acrobatics!"

Hawlucha primed it claws, and lunged at the nearest Yanma, hoping for a strike...

Azumi Towers, Route 7, July 6th.

Upon arrival, Azumi dismounted her Mudsdale, returning him to his Pokeball. Monty rushed off to go help out and Azumi was left with the task to assist Esther. However, she needed to deal with something first, the reason they were there. She reached into her bag and took out the Pokeball with her Altaria once more, releasing the dragon bird.

The dragon cloud chirped as Azumi took out two Super Potions from her bag and placed them in between the Altaria's cottong like wings. "Make sure Esther gets these, hop to it!"

Nimbus nodded and spread her wings, flying over her trainer and heading directly in Esther's location. Azumi meanwhile got to work, she needed to find the farmer and get the supplies moving as soon as possible. If the chaos in the farm continued, there might not be any supplies for the hospital. She scanned the area, trying to locate the one person who was in charge, until her blue eyes set on the farmer.

"Monsieur!" She called out as she rushed to the farmer, "I am here on a request to collect the supplies for the hospital. I have my Mudsdale ready to take em off your hands, I just need you to instruct me where your nearest cart is and what to load on it."

This isn’t sustainable, Esther chewed her lip. The Pokémon in the vicinity were far more active than normal, the number of encounters she’d faced in the last half-hour proof enough, but add in whatever was going on over with Beatrice & Celia? Yea, no. The onslaught of Pokémon was too much; at a certain point quantity begets its own quality. The name of the game wasn’t strength but endurance, and if she wanted to succeed then she’d need to come up with means and methods to mitigate injury and fatigue.

Esther returned Pyrrha and Houndour to their pokéballs, they’d need the rest. Her fallen enemies would recover soon enough and, after licking their wounds, there was a chance they would return. Nevertheless, Esther let them be.

On her way back to the farm she spotted Azumi’s bird with a payload of two super potions. A helpful start to her plans, so Esther pocketed them for later.

Sunday - July 24th

The events that transpired once the group returned to the city seemed to pass him by in a blur. His first stop had been the pokemon center to get the Touros examined by a professional. The Nurse behind the counter told him to come back in an hour, but Theo gave it two just for good measure. Which turned out to be the right call, given that when he did return for the angry bull the Nurse was just finishing his treatment. Guess the pastry had to go back in the oven longer than the baker initially thought he remembered thinking, thanking the Nurse for all she had done. The Tauros had been pretty roughed up by the freshly evolved Rhydon, but should be back in tip top fighting shape given a good night's sleep. That had been the easiest of the things to come for the rest of the day.

Theo had ventured back to the Safari Zone's entrance and explained the situation to the same older guard from earlier in the day, the guard making it clear that if Theo wanted to return the Touros to the wild it was going to cost him another $500 to get in. Theo even offered to stay in the building and throw the bull's poke-ball through the door if opened by someone who worked at the entrance station, but was met with the ultimatum of pay the fee or get out of line. Another time, another place, Theo would have stood his ground and stayed in line until his simple request was met. But after everything he had been through leading up to that point, he merely sighed in defeat and left the Zone entrance. He hurt. He was sore. And he had a pokemon he wasn't sure how he was going to handle.

He found a spot just off the beaten path and released all the pokemon currently on his person, taking stock of them and their personalities. Well, most of them. The Touros had to be recalled rather quickly with it's display of anger at having been captured in the first place. It was going to take time to get on the bull's good side, if it even had one. Using the Rotom Phone, Theo copied down the pokemon's names, abilities, and known moves in to one of his notebooks so he could study them later. Next came nicknames. Rapidash was up first. He listed off all the names of historically important horses he could think of, and when that didn't work he moved on to unicorns. Still not satisfied he returned to horse names and who they were associated with, the Rapidash neighing happily when he mentioned Eos, the goddess of the dawn. “R....really? Eos? Not Phaethon, not Phae, Eos? You sure about that?” He didn't think the fire horse had that much of a chip on her shoulder, but she had picked what she liked. He wasn't going to deny her that. “Well, alright then. Eos it is.”

Naming his Riolu wasn't nearly as difficult nor did it take as much time. Every time he started to bring it up that voice in the back of his mind would speak up, saying a single word. Row. “Like a rowboat?” Ro. “Like the...dammit, you wouldn't know about the dragon born. R. O? Two letters?” The Riolu had nodded, giving Krem the Totodile the side eye. The small water gater had been eyeing the new addition to their group for some time, and after all this time was ready to make a move. Without warning or direction he had charged, purple energy extending from his claws. Ro had turned to face her aggressor, easily swatting Krem's claws away as he moved in to strike. Compared to her training partners in the Safari Zone, Krem was 10 years too soon to be challenging her to a battle. That didn't stop him from trying, each of his swipes met with just enough force to knock his claws off target. After the third failed swipe attempt Krem took in a deep breath to prepare for a close range Hydro Pump attack, Ro jumping in to the air and performing a back flip. Given their close proximity to one another the Riolu's foot caught the Totodile's jaw and forced Krem to close his mouth before his attack was launched, Ro following up her back flip with a Force Palm planted squarely on the Totodile's chest with enough force to send the water gater flying backwards in to a nearby tree. Krem struggled to sit up from the force of the blow, eventually giving up and resting against the tree. The hit had even hurt Theo, the pain from the Riolu's earlier blow still lingering in his chest. Maybe this was what Krem needed. Someone about his size to help him train. But that was enough for right now. Recalling all of his pokemon save for Shinx to their spherical homes, Theo eventually made his way back to town where he checked in to the pokemon center for the evening, and after ensuring his pokemon were fed he sent himself to his rented room to get some well deserved rest.

5:30 A.M. Route 48

Deserving and receiving hardly went hand in hand. Nightmares of the Unown once again plauged Theo's dreams, forcing him awake every few hours. It wasn't as bad as it had been the first few nights, but that didn't mean he was enjoying them now. Rolling over in bed with a groan, Theo would inadvertently slap his Rotom Phone awake, squinting as he checked the time. 4 a.m. No one in their right mind was awake at 4 a.m. With another wordless groan Theo turned over and closed his eyes, resting them for what felt like only a moment. When the moment passed he shot up in the bed with his heart pounding so hard he could feel his pulse behind his ear, his hands cupping his face for a moment before rubbing his eyes. Given he had watched the time tick over from 3:59 to 4, surely now it was 4:01, right? Again looking to the Rotom Phone he saw that in fact another hour had passed, making the current time 5 a.m. He had gone back to sleep and hadn't even felt it. At least this time he was smart enough to take the top bunk.

It took him a moment to gather himself before he turned and hopped down out of the bunk bed, quickly dressing as silently as he could so not to disturb the other trainers in the room. He couldn't bring himself to try to go back to sleep, and he wasn't about to just lay in bed waiting for something that wasn't coming. His chest still hurt from the prior day's punch, but it wasn't as bad as it had been. He didn't know what he was going to do, but he knew he needed to get out of the room. No, he needed to get out of the pokemon center. He needed fresh air to clear his mind. As he dressed his Shinx woke up and mewed lightly before stretching, then following Theo as he left the pokemon center. He wasn't sure where they were going, but they were going somewhere.

That begged the question, where should he go? What should he do? He thought for a few moments, then decided to think while he walked. He headed in the one direction he knew, back towards the Safari Zone. He wasn't going that far, but he did remember a few flowing rivers between here and there. He had a rod, maybe it was time to whip it out and cast a few lines. No, that wouldn't work. Just sitting there, waiting, he could have done that back in the pokemon center. “Sorry about the early morning, Shinx. I just...I couldn't.” is all he could say on the subject, producing the Rotom Phone. He neeeded to think. And do you know what helped him to think at times like this? Music. Navigating the Poke-tube app, Theo mentally sighing at that name, he eventually found one of the songs they were playing on the boat ride from the Whirl Islands.

Everybody wants to be a master~
♫ Everybody wants to show their skills~
♫ Everybody wants to get there faster~
♫ Make their way to the top of th hill!!

As he walked he unconsciously nodded his head along to the beat of the song, finding a small sense of peace as he put the song on loop. It was catchy, it had a good beat, and it gave him something to distract him from the fact that it was now almost 5:30 a.m. As he grew tired of walking Theo came to rest against a tree with a yawn, his Shinx ears perking up. Hunkering down, the electric cat unleashed an unexpected <<Thunder Shock>> in the air to the surprise of Theo, who looked first to the Shinx and then to where he had been aiming, seeing a small red and brown bird flying to avoid the electricity. “What in th” he started, muting the song and scanning the bird.

Spearow, the Tiny Bird Pokemon. Unlike Pidgey, Spearow has a terrible attitude. It is very wild and will sometimes attack other Pokémon and humans.

But why... “ooh. Right. Sorry about that!” Theo called, though where the Spearow flew to had him thinking his apology would fall on deaf ears. A flock of three other Spearow, two on either side flanking a much larger, much angrier looking brown bird with a jagged looking beak and a mohawk for a crown.

Fearow, the Beak Pokemon and the evolved form of Spearow. Its large, powerful wings allow it to fly for an entire day. The crushing power of its beak is tremendous.

Greaaaaat~

Nicole Newman - 16th of June - North Lake Miloch, Wild Area, Galar

Nicole was focused on filming the Swablu interact with each other, getting some nice shots in as she took a long shot of the Swablu and the occasional Altaria, even catching the humming of the latter on film. It was a beautiful sight, and the Bird Keeper could not help but smile as she listened to the sound.

The Sigilyph floated next to Lara, looking at the girl before looking at the Swablu flock. After a while, the Avianoid Pokémon looked at Nicole and stared at her.

A sudden cry got the attention of Nicole, Sigilyph and the Swablu. A Corviknight, and it seemed to be mad as it dove down and was ready to attack the Swablu.

Lara Brook - 16th of June - North Lake Miloch, Wild Area, Galar
The calm moment was suddenly disrupted by an enraged Corviknight as it swooped down on the flock of cotton bird pokemon and the leader Altaria. Lara let out a scared yelp as she covered her head before carefully looking up as the Altaria flew up to defend its flock. The Humming pokemon charged up a green energy before firing off a beam of it as the Corviknight let out a cry as a light blue energy surrounded its body and dove out of the way from Altaria's attack. The Steel type bird then dove at the Swablu flock leader. This time the Altaria managed to blast the enemy with a Dragon pulse right at the Raven pokemon that crashed into it with a Brave Bird.

"Nicole!- We need to help the Swablus" Lara called out, rather panicked as she watched the small Cotton birds look terrified and fleeing rapidly into different directions. She honestly had no idea what they should do or how, but they had to somehow either calm down the attacking Corviknight, scare it off or come up with another solution.

Ezio Farello, June 15th, Solaceon Ruins, Sinnoh

Ezio looked into the hole, before staring right into the unblinking eye of an Unown. The Psychic type was clearly spooked, firing off a Hidden Power. Not wanting to get smacked in the face by the attack, the man quickly fell to the ground. "About time we got to see these little guys." The man said with a laugh, getting up from the ground and watching the Unown float about.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Ezio informed Naka as he rubbed his chin in thought. "That is an odd spot for an Unown to be though, what was it doing there?" He thought out loud as his Bastiodon just looked up at the floating letter. "No need to aggrevate it, we wouldn't want to awaken any more Unown than necessary. As big of a fan as I am of testing theories, testing the supposed great powers of Unown is not on my list right now."

The Ruin Maniac carefully grabbed a notepad and made a quick sketch of the Unown, noting it as the G-Shape before turning to Naka. "Shall we check out that spot again?" He asked.

Nicole Newman - 16th of June - North Lake Miloch, Wild Area, Galar

Nicole's eyes hardened as she watched the battle play out. "We cannot interfere with nature, as sad as it is." The woman said. The Altaria fluffed up their wings, covering themselves with Cotton Guard before firing off another Dragon Pulse at the circling Corviknight.

The Sigilyph that was hovering around the two women stared at the Corviknight before firing off a rainbow colored beam from its torso at the Raven Pokémon. Evidently, the Corviknight was deemed as a threat to the Avianoid Pokémon's territory.

"My apologies, I'm just a curious lad, no means to intrude. Lots of folks come up and down and around Mt. Coronet. Which each one having a different story and different tale. I'm just making my rounds around the place."
Axel soon finished putting up his tent as Clefairy as finished healing his Duraladon.
"Only met a few people with starters from the Professor, from the Jubilife area, unsure which is the steel type. I live off a farm closer to Celestic Town. Lets see, there's that turtle, the Monkey, and the Penguin. Not sure which one is steel though..."

Milliana was nervous, especially if her true Identity as The Daughter of the Commander of a group of dangerous poachers ended up revealed. She then looked down at her Pokédex, realizing that maybe the Dex would help her. Duraludon appreciated the Clefairy's help and ran around with excitement, then staying near the camp.

"D-do y-you h-have a P-Pokédex, A-axel?" Milliana responded, "A-A P-pokédex c-could s-solve m-my d-dilemma. M-mine m-might n-not b-be t-the m-most u-useful?"

Klefki popped out of their pokéball and was snatched out of the air immediately by Duraludon before it could go find any keys.

Desmond Andrews (Unranked)
Dogo Onsen Yamatoyo Inn, Cianwood City, Johto (July 24th)

Interactions: @Cmeriwether (Emma) @ThAtGuY101 (Aldon)

Desmond gave her all the time she needed, it had the benefit of both offering comfort to...well, to a friend he'd admit least internally but also granted him the chance to compose a bit as he figured this was one of those rare moments he needed to be strong for someone else and could not whimper.

"It is the least I can do....believe me, I owe it given you put up with someone like me." Desmond said back to her, as he had not been oblivious to what a sour mood he seemed to be 90% of the time which had made him appreciate how the likes of her and Aldon tolerated his cowardly, negative nancy tendencies.

He had kept the hug on a bit longer than intended, but slowly broke it as the smile retuned to Emma's face. Regardless of the kind of gossip he'd normally work to avoid he just seemed happy to help someone for a change.

Kricketune in turn seemed to notice that the Gastrodon seemed to calm a bit, as it gently broke the hug and patted the back of the Pokemon, as if to say it was here for it if it ever felt down which seemed a touching gesture but a friend of Desmond's was a friend of it!

Politoed had tried to find a fish, but alas, this hot spring seemed to lack any as it surfaced to relay its less than flattering findings but seemed everyone was on the move. Wunder and Skol seemed to be called away as Mimikyu waved goodbye towards its new friend and Politoed got out and did the same as Desmond's Pokemon Kricketune included seemed to go to their trainer as Aldon prepared to turn in for the night.

Desmond's mood shifted as a cold shiver was felt by Skol brushing its tail along his back leg which caused some hair to stand on his arm but he worked to focus past that as he nodded to Aldon. "D-don't worry I don't aim to be up much longer." Desmond admitted as he waved off Aldon before he saw his Pokemon move by him and turned to Emma.

"S-so um, think you'll be okay?" Desmond asked.
Emma let go as well, as she wiped away the remaining tears. She then looked at Desmond, her smile still on her face.

"Thank you, don't worry about it at all, I'm sorry you had to see me like that." Emma responded to Desmond, "I'm better now."

Emma looked at Desmond, her smile wider now than it was before. She noticed she may have slightly soaked the shoulder that she cried on. Gastrodon looked at Kricketune, having calmed down. Gastrodon initially flinched, but calmed down when Kricketune patted Gastrodon's back. Sliggoo was relieved to see Gastrodon back to her normal self.

Cinderace had been watching what Politoed was doing, and laughed when the Water type didn't find what the Pokémon was looking for. He then saw his trainer having calmed down, and was smiling. The Fire Type was happy that his trainer was calm now.

"We should probably head to bed, Desmond," Emma suggested, since Aldon left, "I'll be in the room next door."

Emma then returned her Pokémon, making sure all of them were there, except Cinderace, who she. She then turned to Desmond as she got up. She then started walking over towards her towel.

After enjoying a nice rest, Buck watched his pokémon play for a few minutes. He had another destination in mind, but was going to give them a few more minutes before heading out. As he got up, he looked over to see Marshal resting his talons on the back of the park bench next to him, as he got up, Marshal made his way to Buck's shoulders. Waylon was chasing Tony, then Tony would turn around and chase Waylon, though for the most part, it was just Tony running from Waylon. Waylon took everything too seriously and nearly bit Tony a few times. The nervous little donkey ran behind Buck signalling his trainer, he was indeed ready to go.

"That's 'nuff 'O that. Let's head on out. Yeeee!" Buck kicked his right leg forward before heading up north. A split in the treeline heading down a path called Buck's attention. Looking at it, he also figured it might be a good place to train. He had two pokemon around the same level, so he wouldn't need to find wild pokemon to battle against. As he arrived, he made note of the winding path he was on. He made a decent way into the forest before he finally stopped and found a decent spot.

Tony and Waylon knew exactly what they were gonna do the moment they were sent out their pokéballs, and Tony wanted no part of it. Buck looked at his two pokemon. Puzzled, he scratched his chin, then had an idea. He grabbed a handful of sticks and twigs. Throwing one into the air.

"Use ember!" Buck called out to which Waylon fired out, burning the stick. Before it could hit the ground...

"Use mud slap to extinguish it!" Buck called out. It hit the ground, but Tony managed to put it out. Buck called out again. This time Tony knew what to do and extinguished the flame before it hit the ground. Buck threw a few more sticks in different directions to work on accuracy. He then had them use head smash and headbutt on a dead tree to try work in some power hits. He then tried another exercise where he'd throw rocks and have them run as fast as they could to try hit it before it hits the ground to improve speed.

As they continued this drill, they went further and further into the woods before they found a very large boulder with three large cut marks. Two diagonal cuts and a vertical one. Buck had never seen this rock before and had no clue what was with the marks. Did a pokémon do this? What pokémon? It made him think of a tyranitar or something of that size. It didn't matter much because they had done enough training, and were eventually gonna begin heading back, when Buck saw the path continued. It was blocked by small trees. Though to say it was blocked was an overstatement as the trees didn't exactly prevent anyone from sliding between them or around them. And that's exactly what he did. He wondered if Rock smash could topple it in a single blow, but didn't wanna kill a perfectly healthy tree just for training purposes. And so he and his pokémon continued down the path.

Meanwhile Aldon was chilling in bed watching some Pokémon planet. Watchog Manor was playing, and he watched a documentary about pokemon from beyond their planet. It mostly discussed conspiracy theories. By this point, Aldon was black out fast asleep. Lights on, and not a care in the world. Huck went around turning all the lights off, but left the tv on so it and Skol could continue watching tv together. The other mon were fast asleep as well. Bolly was still spinning, but fast asleep. Zippy was leaning against the wall outlet, occasionally making a spark sound. Bran made a low but nonstop ringing sound. Skol and Huck would fall asleep facing the television. They would have a long morning ahead.

“Long…? That’s the shortest one though…” Esther’s brow furrowed. Her eyes, for a moment, were drawn over to the far side of the hot spring where Pyrrha was once again capsized. Tsk, tsk, tsk… She’d told her to go slow and steady, there was no way she’d find her balance jumping onto the board like that. Whatever, sometimes you have to suffer a bit in order to learn. As long as she wasn’t drowning herself again…

Anyway, Esther’s attention returned to Naka just in time to espy her new Pokémon. A Chikorita…? They were pretty rare. “Well, yeah… When I name my Pokémon, I try to describe them or name them after my aspirations for them. Do you know that custom where you name a child after the traits you want them to grow into? It’s like that. So, for this little one—” Esther gestured to Feebas with a gentle stroke of her scales. “I combined the words Hadra and Istahaq. The Hadra is a ritual that expresses strong emotions and invites the presence of the divine. The word more literally means ‘presence’. Istahaq is an Arabic word that means ‘merit’… ”

So, for Feebas who felt like she had no presence and was overshadowed by her mother, Esther aspired for her to have a presence based on her own merit. Of course, there were other ways to interpret the name and Esther was content to let Naka infer her own meaning from the words.

“As for how we met, it was actually while we were at the Blue Lagoon in the Whirl Islands. She had a little run-in with the Chinchou and they were pretty aggressive, it being their mating season and all. After we saved her, I returned her home. That’s where I was the morning after the Whirl Cup, I had to visit Īstha’s original trainer who lived on Silver Rock Isle. Since Īstha wanted to get away from home and I was in the business of traveling…”

Of course, that was a gross oversimplification, but Esther wasn’t about to embarrass Feebas by revealing all her problems.

“I did have something I wanted to ask you though. Īstha and I intend to get into the coordinating, but she’s got a bit of stage fright. Got any tips?”

July 6th, Wednesday - Rivière Walk, Route 7, Berry Fields, Kalos Region
Beatrice Esperanza Lazlo

Beatrice and her pokemon stood their ground as they watched the group of Bagon run towards them, before a black and white blur suddenly appeared out of nowhere, beating up one of the Bagon in an instant. The small dragon type's body was sent flying to the side as the other 2 Bagons stopped in their tracks, looking on with confusion and anger. Beatrice was also stunned by this sudden phenomena, but quickly snapped herself back to reality after realizing the opportunity in front of her. "Now! While they're distracted!" She yelled out, bringing her pokemon's attention back to the battle as well. "Clyde, use Breaking Swipe! Vallace, Wing Attack!” The 2 pokemon quickly dashed off towards the remaining opponents. Before they could react, one Bagon was slammed in the face by a tail covered in a purple light while the other received two glowing wing fists directly on its body, sending both Rock Head Pokemon flying back.

With more room to breathe, the young woman took the time to take a better look at the unknown creature, soon realizing who it was. “Oh, is this, what’s his name’s guy’s Absol?” She exclaimed, turning to see the man himself bringing up the rear. “Ah, they’re already back. Wait, then this means…” Right on cue, Beatrice spotted Wattz flying into her field of vision. “Wattz, I’m glad to see you.” Hearing its trainer, the Rotom happily flew around. “Ok, I’m sorry for sending you out as soon as you got back but can you give me a quick flyby of the area? I want to see if there is anything else around.” She asked her pokemon, who gleefully took off once more.

Afterwards, Beatrice looked back towards where each Bagon had landed. The one that felt the full force of Oracle’s attack was definitely not getting back up while the two knocked back by Beatrice’s pokemon still seemed to have enough strength left to stand. However, they appeared to no longer be in the mood to cause trouble as the duo turned to retreat, after picking up their fellow Bagon's unconscious body. “Phew, glad that’s over with.”

Azumi Towers, Route 7, July 6th.

"Ne t'inquiète pas monsieur, I will take care of everything. You focus on the young trainers defending your farm, if you can provide them supplies, please do so."

With a short bow and an assuring smile, Azumi got to work. She located the shed with the cart and quickly started going through the items until she found some rope. Once again, the tired Mudsdale was out, giving his trainer a stern look, but the apologetic look on Azumi's face quickly made him step up. "Wait here okay? I'll load the cart up first."

Azumi sent a quick message to her partner in crime, Monty. Requesting help with putting the ropes on the cart and Roy. Then, she got a basket and made her way to the berry trees, gathering as many as possible and loading them to the cart. She tried to move fast, but some berries were out of reach or squashed due to the ongoing battles.

Oracle hissed after the retreating trio of trembling Bagon, planting her paws firmly in a dare to come back and earn more of her wrath. They were smarter peons than most, clearly recognizing her superiority and conceding what they surely knew was an unwinnable exchange, and though she'd only battered one of them she was nonetheless entertained.

Her satisfaction wouldn't last long, though! The Queen examined the remaining Pokémon on the field, sizing up the black-haired girl's strange lizard and duck. Perhaps she could flex her claws against them next. The Absol turned to gauge whether her trainer would want in on the action, but useless Monty had his attention buried in that little rectangle of flashing lights he called a phone.

"Oracle, Chauffe! We're moving out, let's go," he announced suddenly, motioning for his teammates to follow along. Roy and the cart were only a short distance away, and his experience hauling cargo with the Old Guard came in handy with securing the bushels. Securing the cart to Roy, though?

"Uhh...nice Roy," Monty muttered skittishly, trying to run through the best way to connect the Mudsdale without earning a kick in the teeth. He couldn't tell if Roy was eyeing him warily, curiously, or some other "-ly", but he didn't want to test his luck. The criminal tenderly reached out and petted the Mudsdale's left shoulder, muttering, "I'm going to, uh, tie a loop around your front legs so you can pull the cart. That's alright, right?"

Monty didn't catch a hoof to the face, so he assumed he had the go-ahead. He tied a bowline around each of Roy's front legs, looped around the shoulders, and connected them across his chest before running two lines back to the cart and securing it there. Once it was set up, he took a step back to admire his handiwork.

"Now where's Azumi?"

July 24th,- Might Die
Joyce Blake

The turbulence and heavy weather only seemed to grow more violent by the second. They needed a way out of this storm of they're all going to die out here. Joyce had been too preoccupied trying to steady herself to react to the shenanigans of the others on the boat. "Its not safe for everyone to be out, return you two." She said as she pulled out Sapling and Thorn's pokeballs, returning the 2. "I'm counting on you Teller." The girl told her last pokemon, keeping him out as he had greater mobility.

Then, she saw it, the humongous wave in their path and the ship's captain's insane plan to go through it. "Is that the best plan we have?" She yelled. Her words did little to affect the situation however as the Captain continued his course of action. The boat rose to the top of the wave, causing great turbulence for the crew onboard.

Joyce held onto the rope for dear life when she heard Hubert's words, asking her to grab his hand so they could move to a more stable part of the boat. The girl reached her arm out to meet his, pulling herself closer to him. "That sounds great." She replied.

It was only after the ship had managed to brave the wave that something came to her mind. The captain said they could use the help of a big water type pokemon, well she had one of those. "Oh wait, I have a very big water type pokemon! I bet he can help us!" She yelled out, taking out a certain pokeball. At this sight, the girl's Abra became very panicked. Knowing his trainer was about to make a massive mistake, Teller frantically tried to reach out to stop her. Unfortunately, the heavy rain was quite a big hindrance and the Abra was unable to stop Joyce from releasing the murderous beast from his pokeball. "Wyrm! Come on out!"

With a flash, the massive Gyarados was released into the open seas. The Water type took a moment to look around, taking in the environment he was currently in. "Alright Wyrm, help us out of this Storm! I know you can do it!" Joyce yelled out, full of hope her pokemon was the key to their survival in this horrific situation. However, Wyrm didn't respond to the girl's command. The Atrocious Pokemon simply turned to face his trainer, looking down at her with a murderous stare. Noticing this, Joyce recoiled a bit. "Umm, Wyrm? What are you doing?"

The cop in training dragged the full basket by her side, using both her arms to barely lift the big basket of the ground. She could see Roy's tail wagging from side to side, sign of annoyance from the stallion. To her relief she saw Monty there, alive and Ron with the ropes on.

"Monsieur, could you help me put this in the cart?" Azumi announced her arrival as she let the basket fall next to her. She took a look at her red hands and blew on them, before looking around until she set her sapphire gem like blue eyes, like the type of blue when you look into the ocean and you marvel at how beautiful yet powerful such a creation of nature can be, with endless stories and mysteries yet to be heard, on a bucket.

Azumi walked over to it and held it up. "We need more berries."

"It'll be okay, I am with you." Adrianne said as she moved in line and slowly the group advanced as they were let into the cars. Seemed there was an extra set of safety harnesses designed for the Pokemon companion that met the size and weight limit as Adrianne loaded into her car and set Aqua on her lap as she worked to buckle the pair inside.

Adrianne in turn seemed quite excited as everyone got loaded up, her mind raced with only one thought. This is gonna be awesome!

Desmond also worked to secure composure as Emma at the least seemed to be in a bit of a better mood than before, so he figured he must've said something right or least had not screwed the pooch with his advice as it had been.

"No need to apologize, just...just happy I could help." Desmond admitted, and honestly he seemed to mean it as he rarely got the chance to let such emotions out on his journey and at least he seemed able to help someone who needed it. A rarity given how distant he tended to keep himself from people.

Kricketune seemed to be relieved that its comfort worked to ease Gastrodon's guilt on the matter, and Politoed seemed to notice the Cinderace and smiled to it before Emma recalled her Pokemon as everyone prepared to head in.

"Yeah, goodnight and think a bit of rest will do us both good." Desmond admitted as he returned Politoed, Mimikyu and Kricketune and while Emma went to her towel Desmond seemed to take a moment to reflect as his hand reached for the locket he had always kept close to him around the neck.

I wonder how you would've handled this...

With that, he had gotten what he needed and prepared to head back to his room. "Wish you well Emma, know where to find me if you ever need to talk."

More manual labor? What, was Azumi paying hourly? "Seems like a fit for my talents," Monty quipped as he hefted the basket up and into the cart. It fell with a thump, and the criminal secured it down with a quick flouish of motion before turning back to his friend. "It's a change of pace from having to think about type match-ups and what move to call when and all that, at least."

He strode over to Azumi and took the bucket into his hands. "I'll handle the picking and the lifting," he said as his eyes picked up on the redness of her hands. His were more than conditioned for the work, but there was one thing he'd need help with.

"I'm afraid berries are outside my vast range of expertise, though." With a slight smirk he leveled his gaze with Azumi's bright blue eyes. "Would the esteemed Countess Towers help me get the right ones? Only the best for the hospital, right?"

Jayden Jones, July 24th, Somewhere beyond the sea, somewhere looking for me, WCS rank: 73,875.

"Holy guacamole that's cool!" Jayden watched the giant water serpent appear before them, but the look it had in its eyes was uncomfortable.

The Captain laughed at the sight of the rebellious dragon, "Ay faced many of em before, will take an army to take down good ol Buck Sarrow!"

While the Gyarados was an incredible sight, the fact that the wave was going to flip over the boat soon was still the main issue. With a last minute resort, Jayden let go of the rail, rolling across the deck until crashing into some crates. He fumbled around until he managed to grab another rope. "Hubert!" He yelled as he tossed it towards his best buddie. "Tie this to the rail!"

Jayden then tied a wrench to his end and threw it into the ocean. "Magikarp! Pull the boat buddy!"

The Captain laughed loudly. "There's no way a wee lil Karp is gonna pull this ship boy, unless that Gyarados decides to cooperate with us-"

A big flash came from under the dark ocean and before anyone could figure it out, the ship started being pulled ahead towards the wave. The tug was strong enough to throw several off balance, except the captain who had an amazing stance despite the turmoil. "HAHAHAHA! That some strong fish! Here we go, get ready for impact!"

Splash!

The ship broke through the waters, for a split second giving those who were brave enough to open their eyes underwater, a view of the inside of the monstrous wave. But, Jayden's eyes only notice one thing, the white stripped Gyarados pulling the boat. The ship emerged from the other side of the gigantic wave, splashing down on the waves underneath.

"I can't believe that actually work, erm, I mean, Ha! Nothing can take down the famous Captain Buck Sarrow!"

With a near miss trip to David Bones' locker, the crew began to relax as the storm moved away from them. "Now we got two Gyarados!" Jayden cheered as he jumped on one leg towards Hubert and Joyce. "Joyce, why didn't you tell me you were so strong! We have to be rivals, our love can wait."

Azumi-Senpai, Route 7, Kalos.

"Thank you Monty, I appreciate it." Azumi nodded as she pointed at the nearest tree. "We need Oran Berries from that one, I got the reachable ones, maybe Oracle can help you out? I'll head to the yellow ones, Sitrus berries, with Lily I can take a few down. Then we can head to those trees over there, the one with bright freen berries? Those are Lum berries, only ones missing. Get as many as those but leave some, they're very rare and delicate so I don't want the farmer to be without any so he can harvest more."

With a sigh and a smile, Azumi headed over to her designated tree, her Meowscarada popping out of her Pokeball, giving Monty and team a wave and rushing ahead of Azumi to get started in gathering berries.

"When you load the Oran berries bring the bucket over to gather the Sitrus berries please!" Azumi called out, placing her hands behind her back as she walked backwards to face Monty. "Yes, it is a nice change of pace if it weren't for the swarm of battles going on." She turned around went to gather the berries Lily had already dropped near the tree.

Hubert Lee

Hell - July 24

As Joyce reached out to grab his hand, Hubert turned to see the giant wave still on its way, headed for the ship fast. With widened eyes, he held the girl's hand tight enough to hold despite the rain and seawater loosening his grip, but not too such a degree that would harm her. Mustering all the strength he could, Hubert began pulling his way to the mast, making sure to keep Joyce close, but a sudden movement caused him to glance back just in time to see her toss out a Pokeball.

The capsule opened with a flash of light to reveal a massive serpent in the water, and though Joyce seemed to shout a command, it didn't take long for Hubert to notice that the Atrocious Pokemon's intentions lied far elsewhere. Jayden's voice suddenly cut through the chaos, and Hubert turned to see another rope thrown his way. Grabbing it, he continued to make his way over to the mast, making sure his hold on Joyce's hand didn't slip. She seemed taken aback by her Pokemon's visible hostility, but there was no time to worry about that right now.

"Come on, Joyce! We need to get to the mast!"

Hubert tugged a little more firmly than usual to get Joyce's attention, and once the two finally arrived at the center of the deck, Hubert took the rope Jayden had tossed to him and tied it tightly around the wooden post for them to hold onto. He would have heaved a sigh of relief, until he saw Jayden's next move.

"Magikarp! Pull the boat buddy!"

Hubert was losing it.

Unfortunately, there hadn't been any time for even that, as before Hubert could unleash a stream of dumbfounded, confused thoughts that could no longer remain in his head, the wave crashed upon the ship, plunging everyone on board into darkness. Holding his breath, Hubert shut his eyes upon impact, but as he felt weightlessness take hold, he slowly opened his eyes to make sure there was no incoming danger within the depths. However, what he saw...

There. Was. No. Way.

A Gyarados. Not the one Joyce had summoned. One with a distinctive white stripe. A wrench in its mouth, which was connected to the boat via rope. Even with the water rushing through and around him, drowning his ears, Hubert heard one certain voice painfully clearly in his mind.

He couldn't keep getting away with this.

Finally, the ship emerged from the water, and Hubert gasped for air, collapsing to the ground from sheer exhaustion as soon as the coast was clear. Jayden's words were muffled, but he was sure it was just more ridiculous nonsense; the only thing on his mind was relief. Several deep breaths later, Hubert managed to sit up, leaning against the mast and flashing a thumbs-up to signal he was okay. However, as he continued to regain his bearings, he looked up to see a snarling maw and bloodthirsty eyes.

"Hey, Joyce? How long is your Gyarados gonna keep staring like that?

July 25th, Cianwood City, Reina Amaranta Esmeralda de la Santa Cruz Caballero Cortez, Rank 29,574

Reina hadn't truly experienced what being exhausted meant until she was finally back at the dojo. She and her new training partner, Tyrouge, were dragging their tired bodies up the dojo's stairs. Their stomachs grumbled and their eyes told the stories of the harsh training they had foretaken in the caves. The small fighting type and Reina had gotten along, but their training had been a bit rough on them.

Upon entering they had started some sparring with the Geodude around the area. The some hiker asked for help finding his lost backpack, which had been taken by a Sableye. Turns out the little goblin was part of a bigger pack and Reina, the hiker and Tyrouge had to escape with their lives. Yet somehow, they managed to snag the backpack on the way. Unfortunately, this had startled the wild Zubat and Golbat, which ended up in another session of running trying to survive. It wasn't until a ranger showed up and helped get back to safety.

Reina slid open the dojo doors and her mouth dropped at the sight before them. There was a ton of food aligned on a table, Chuck and his other students were happily eating, looking satisfied and rested. Reina could feel the drool build up as she gave Tyrouge a nod and rushed to get some food, but she never got to it.

"Halt!" Chuck called out with a chuckle. "Your breakfast is over there." He pointed at a table on its own, with a big glass of some strange looking liquid.

Reina approached it and picked it up, the stench was strong, making Reina stick out her tongue in disgust. "Que mierda? What is this?!"

"Banana and onion juice! It helps to align your chakras and reach higher levels of meditation. Today, that is all that you will be eating."

Reina gulp, fighting back to return the breakfast from the earlier morning. "Seriously?" She gave Chuck a pitiful look with teary eyes.

"That's right, until I see you're ready for a new diet, this will be your only food."

The day continued on, Reina fighting her not to throw up her new food, while training and sparring in the dojo. Once nightfall finally fell upon them, the Metztlian dragged herself out of the gym, her body feeling heavy like if she was carrying a Wailord. Tyrouge had been returned to Chuck, turns out he was just a temporary training partner. With no Pokemon, no energy and no actual food in her stomach, Reina reached her room and flopped on her bed, falling asleep as soon as she face touched her pillow.

The Flareon gave Ezio a very unamused glance when he said not to aggravate it, having already fired off a small ball of flame at the Unown.

Naka shrugged at Ezio's question, unsure herself. "Maybe it was just as afraid of the ghastly wailings happening here." She hummed in thought, the Pichu on her head still shivered at the thought of going down there.

Listening to the woes of her mouse, she chuckled. "Well, I don't think it's going to solve much just staring into a hole. As interesting as that might sound for you, I do want to get further into the ruins." She then looked up at the Unown, who still hovered above them, flitting about. "Well, even after a rather sad Ember-" earning a scowl from her Flareon. "-I don't think it's going to do anything to us. Let's go further."

Right as she turned, that ghoulish noise rang out through the corridors, sounding like it did indeed come from further in the ruins. The Unown's body began to glow and Naka whirled around as she saw other Unown appear from the walls. She chuckled sheepishly, the Flareon hopping off the Bastiodon's back to run to Naka's side. "I think we really should go now." She looked back at Ezio, waiting for him to go with her before she just ran for her life.

That's the shortest one???

Man, this girl really liked her long names. It amused Naka greatly. Naka watched Pyrrha for a moment, finding the recklessness adorable and even amusing. Maybe that Surskit was getting to her, as she recalled Surskit was the mischievous one. She wasn't sure about Feebas, yet.

She listened to Esther's naming conventions, finding it vastly interesting that she chose nicknames that would help have them grow into the traits the name stood for. Presence and merit...

That her merit was present? It was certainly interesting. If Esther had an aspiration for Feebas to be confident, then Naka realized that the reason for such a name was to give the Feebas even more confidence and build self esteem. So she was right in assuming Feebas was not confident in herself. Even more so, as Esther explained Feebas's origins, she then realized that this Feebas was owned by someone else. Someone else in the contest scene, most likely. Why else would they have a shiny Feebas?

So, the possible bad self esteem was much worse than Naka thought.

Sighing, Naka let her eyes drift with the steam up to the air as Esther asked, extremely relaxed and calm thanks to Brontis's aroma.

"Certainly a wonderful name. Back when I was a kid, I named my Pokemon after their physical traits." She chuckled. "Fluffy the Flareon, because he was the fluffiest Eevee - and now Flareon - I had ever seen. Plus, I was ten." She laughed, then focused back on Esther. "As for stage fright? Hah..." She scratched the back of her head, clearing her throat. "I also have really bad stage fright. Performance fright when it comes to battling and public speaking. If there is a large crowd, I feel like they're going to judge me hard for failing - for not being as good as they thought I should be with the Pokemon I have. I feel like they're going to harass me for being a shit trainer and not treating my Pokemon right." The disgust she felt talking about it rose, making her lip snarl in contempt as her eyes darted away, but the feeling ebbed due to the Chikorita trilling and slapping Naka's forehead with a twirl of his leaf, getting a chuckle from her.

"Hey, now." She smiled, petting the Chikorita's cheek. "I would try to distract myself, put myself in a different headspace, but while there are a lot of tricks, the only good one I've found is just trying to find the source of the problem as to why you feel the way you do and tackling that. Putting yourself in a different headspace is just a bandage to cover up the issue, but that issue will never go away if you don't take care of the source. It'll just feel like you're getting better, but only when you are not yourself, and at that point you aren't true to yourself anymore. At that point, you're just trying to use someone's expectations of you to be someone you're not. It's not something you can get rid of over night, but it'll take a lot of care and training." She sighed and looked back at Feebas, then to Esther. "Getting out of this stage fright - whether it comes about from feelings of inadequacy or just general fright of failure - is possible. It just takes a while. Exposure therapy could potentially help. It's what I'm doing, going through the different tournaments and stuff to fight against my own fear. I don't know if it's working, but I think I'm making progress."

July 26th, Reina, Cianwood.

“Alola?!” Reina's dumbfounded expression caused her master, the gym leader Chuck, to burst into a hearty laugh.

The next day Reina had woken up on time, despite her aching body and tired mind, she managed to drag herself out of bed. Even Bruce hadn't made it to her door before she was already outside stretching. The routine was the same as the day before, endless hours of meditation at the beach, breakfast, which was just onion and banana smoothie, training in the cave with Tyrouge, then countless exercises in the dojo. As the sun began to set, the young trainer found herself receiving astonishing news from her master.

“Why do I have to go to Alola?!” The young woman tried to wrap her around the request.

“Ha! You sure don't hold anything back huh? I told you, an old friend of mine lives there. He can help you improve your training. In fact, you will have to take Blue Demon with you.”

“Huh? Porque?”

“Porque el sera tu pareja.”

“You speak Spanish?!”

“Un poquito.” Chuck chuckled once more and patted Reina on the shoulder. “You need to trust me, the training over there will help you unlock a new power that might just help you reach new levels. Blue Demon will be key for that.”

Reina pouted for a bit and then sighed. “Yeah, okay. At least this time I'll have a Pokémon I know better. When do I leave?”

“Tonight, I've set up a boat to take you to Olivine. From there you will fly to Alola. Make sure to get some sleep on the way.”

Reina's cheeks flustered with frustration. “Sleep on the way?! Why couldn't this have been done tomorrow morning?! “

Chuck laughed. “And miss valuable training time? Nonsense! Remember to wear your dojo when training. Why not catch an Alolan Pokémon? It's always good to have variety.”

Reina grumbled under her breath as she turned to get her things packed. She wasn't sure if it was part of her training or some sort of newbie prank. Either way, her exhausted body couldn't argue anymore.

As the night progressed, Reina and Blue Demon found themselves traveling past the Whirl Islands. She snapped a selfie of her and her Hawlucha, flexing in front of the famous islands with the message, “On our way to Alola! D:” She added a few tired emojis and sent it to Esther.

The rest of the trip was quiet, enough for Reina to doze off until the horn startled her awake, announcing the arrival to Olivine. Soon she would be taking a plane to an unknown region. It felt as if she was starting fresh, with only Blue Demon at her side. A mixture of excitement and fear mixed inside her stomach, or maybe it was the banana onion juice… Either way, she felt ready!

Sorta.

July 24th,- Life expectancy is dropping fast
Joyce Blake

With the ship still on its way to crash into the incoming wave, Joyce’s attention turned away from her Gyarados’ glare. With Hubert’s assistance, the young woman was able to move to the mast, a more stable part of the boat. However, that still didn’t do anything about the imminent death they were all about to face. Jayden’s antics didn’t help her feel any better either, as the man seemed convinced the Magikarp he sent out earlier would be able to save them. “Is that Magikarp even here anymore?” She asked herself, trying to take her mind off the disaster she was in.

Then, miraculously, something began tugging the boat with the rope Jayden threw overboard. Joyce closed her eyes as the ship was submerged by the wave, she felt herself getting submerged in the water before suddenly being pulled through it. Opening her eyes, she saw another Gyarados, guessing that it was JJ’s Magikarp. Did Jayden know this was going to happen or was this just plain luck? Joyce had no way of knowing, and it wasn’t important anyways. What mattered was that the group had somehow managed to come out of that disaster alive. Looking above, the storm also appeared to be subsiding, the worst of it appeared to have passed.

Joyce’s legs finally gave out, the girl slumped down on her knees, her clothes fully drenched, letting out a sigh of relief. “Wow, we somehow survived.” She whispered to herself. Before long, her 2 companions came to talk to her. First was Jayden, the man’s words were almost incomprehensible, mostly because Joyce was still recovering from all the water that went in her ears, but she did understand something about strong, rivals and love. “Umm, sure.” She replied.

Then was Hubert, who posed a much more pressing question. “Oh, Wyrm.” Joyce turned around to face her pokemon, only to find he was nowhere to be seen. “Huh? Where did he go?”

As Buck headed down the overgrown path, he noticed some clearing into the distance. Large shrubbery and vines wildly grew atop a large stone surface barely noticable beneath the wild foliage. Buck didn't know a lick about preservation or safety, but he knew how to clear brush and that was good enough for him. He looked at Waylon.

"Waylon, you know what to d-!" Buck paused as he remembered something.

"Only you can prevent fi-" Buck

"Screw it, light it up Waylon! Yeeeee-haw!" He hollered. The bagon wasted no time in burning the brush. Being a somewhat reasonable person at times, he patted Tony on the back.

"Let's go ahead and bulldoze that fire before it gets too big" Buck said. Much of the shrubs and vines were still there, but there was now a large gap within the burnt portions of them. Upon closer inspection, Buck noticed it was big enough to crawl inside. Marshal flew atop the structure.

As Buck crawled underneath the plants, he noticed a stairwell leading deeper into the structure. Vines had been creeping down them for who knows how many years. Buck wasn't going to even try convince Marshall to come in. He'd have better luck convincing Tony to fight a sharpedo. As Buck went in, Waylon was first to follow, Tony was reluctant second. Buck didn't have tunnel crawling in his itinerary but there he was. He wasn't sure what to expect, but he had his pokémon and he had his gun.

From there he has there at the table with a pile of breakfast. Syrup was seeping off the plate and onto the counter and he had to glasses of juice. "Alright, now shake the branch...shake it...the branch Abné...that's your butt! Focus!"

Monty had gotten nowhere in the few minutes since he and his team gathered under the oran berry tree. Azumi's idea to use Oracle to get the out-of-reach berries was good, if not for the fact that the Absol apparently found the task beneath her. With the queen pointedly refusing to lift so much as a claw toward the blue fruits and Chauffemagne's options limited to things that would burn the tree down, Abnégarde was left as the criminal's final hope.

Unfortunately for him, the Eevee either didn't understand his directions or just really felt like dancing atop the branch instead of performing the simple task of SHAKING THE DAMN THING SO HE COULD CATCH THE BERRIES!

Monty was nearly ready to say screw it and resort to plan <<Incinerate>>, but finally Abné wisened up and bounced on the branch. The criminal scrambled to catch the oran berries, and with some more coaxing he got the Eevee to knock down enough of them to fill the bucket.

"Finally!" He exclaimed through gritted teeth, setting the bucket down and outstretching his arms. "Come on down! I've got you!" Abné LEAPT! down and landed perfectly in her trainer's grasp, and when she scampered onto his shoulder so he could pick the bucket back up she leaned forward for a close inspection of her hard work.

"What, you want one?" Monty asked rhetorically. Of course Abné wanted one—the little girl ate him out of house and home every day! He looked both ways, scanning his surroundings for any stray soon-to-be-officers-of-the-law. One berry down the hatch couldn't hurt, right?

"Prenez votre temps, don't get it all over your...face." The Eevee wolfed down her offering faster than one of Oracle's Sucker Punches, and her trainer deadpanned as she left the bright-blue evidence dripping all over her face. "C'mere...hold still!" Monty did his best to wipe the juice off, but the blue stain on her silver fur was still obvious.

Whatever. Monty secured the bucket's contents back at the cart and repeated the process a couple of times before rejoining his blonde companion at the Sitrus tree. "One bucket, freshly emptied of its oran berries," the criminal announced to Azumi and Lily. "Abné, help gather them up."

... but it had already fainted, and Hawlucha came to a quick stop.

That was close, he thought I didn't want to kill them. They are Pokemon, after all.

He turned to the two he had gone to the farm with. "Well, that was close, wasn't it? Oh, there it is!"

Once again, he had gotten distracted, but for the right reasons. It was the rangers wallet! The job was to find it, and it was, literally, in a haystack.

Esther returned to the farm, and it looked like she was just in time. Azumi and Monty had returned, and the latter had decidedly chosen the most inefficient way of picking berries. The Oblivian watched and waited. Once Monty had made his multiple trips to fill many buckets full of Oran berries, Esther cheerfully walked over to the shed, pulled out a Berry Comb, and swept it through the branches of a Sitrus berry tree. Just like that, a bucket was filled.

Smugly, Esther walked over to Monty and pushed the berry comb into his hands. “Your tools, Monsieur."

"Oh I guess Esther knows better when it comes to picking berries." Azumi laughed a bit as she watched how easy the Oblivian girl was able to do the job. "Make sure Monty gets all the heavy stuff, he's a lot stronger than he looks. Come on, we should move on to the next few trees if we want to finish this fast. Lily, you keep brining berries down, me and Esther will move ahead while Monty transfer the berries to the cart. If we hurry, we can set off in a few minutes. The faster we deal with this, the better."

Azumi moved on ahead to a Lum Berry tree, picking up the ones already on the ground quickly while Lily rushed from branch to branch picking of those that were already loose.

"Man, my new teammate is so cool. Come on Gya, we need to get to Paldea! You know where that is?" Jayden leaned over the rail to get a better look at the water dragon, but he looked confused. "Yeah, me neither man. Don't worry the captain will guide us."

"Of course, never doubt the amazing Buck Sarrow, but we have a problem." The captain stumbled along the ship, "That other Gyarados doesn't look to happy. I don't think we should move." Just like that, the captain froze in place, his eyes darting from side to side.

July 6th, Wednesday - Rivière Walk, Route 7, Berry Fields, Kalos Region
Beatrice Esperanza Lazlo

Beatrice closely surveyed the footage appearing on her tablet from her Rotom. As the drone form Plasma pokemon flew across the skies above the farm, it appeared that there were no more threats in the immediate vicinity, ones that were observable at the very least. “I think we’re in the clear for now.” She declared. “We can’t be sure there isn’t still anything hidden around here though, keep your guards up just in case.” She added, turning to her pokemon. Clyde and Vallace were quite exhausted, fending off wild pokemon for the past 30 minutes was not easy on their stamina. Nevertheless, they kept their heads up and quickly nodded towards Beatrice.

Although there weren’t any wild pokemon left in the immediate vicinity, something else did catch the girl’s eyes. She saw a man with a Hawlucha launch an attack towards one of the downed Yanma, stop right before impact, then the man began rummaging around a haystack seemingly looking for something. Beatrice was understandably confused by this. “Who’s that guy?”

Quickly looking around, the young woman spotted the rest of the farm defense team at the berry fields. “Oh hey!” She ran over to them alongside her pokemon. “Do any of you know who this guy is? He’s acting kind of strange.” Beatrice spoke, showing her tablet and the image of the man and his Hawlucha. "I think I saw him attacking a Yanma that was already defeated."

"Where were you with this thing earlier?" Monty asked incredulously as he took the tool from Esther, studying it with a skeptical eye. It was...a rake? A small rake? Rakes were for leaves! Since when did they make rakes for berry collecting?! The gangster admittedly didn't have much experience with berry farming, but his mind blown.

He dumped the rake's contents into the bucket and walked it back to the cart, adding the Sitrus berries to the pile and returning to try the rake for himself. Monty held it up to one of the higher limbs and emulated Esther's movement, raking a ton of berries in one fell swoop!

Putain de merde, was this thing useful! In a flash, the group was able to fill the cart with enough oran, sitrus, and lum berries to fill that Snorlax-down-the-road's stomach. Monty had noticed the tall guy from the road snooping around the farm, but he decided not to approach an unknown opponent until the black-haired girl tried to make it his problem.

"Wha-a-at? Who would do such a thing?" The gangster's gray eyes went wide with feigned shock. Oracle perked up at his side, puffing her chest and holding her head high, but he didn't pay her any attention. Instead, eager to change the subject, he turned to Esther and then to Azumi. "Thanks for the...rake thing. I think we're about ready to get these to the hospital, right?"

Motostoke was a fantastic city. He couldn't lie. Felix was where he felt it was best for him.

Blue loved it too, so it seems, as he was rather enthusiastic today. They had finally slept in a bed recently, so it may have been that.

Oh, well. No matter, as he says. A good night rest never hurt anyone.

He had many options, one of them was looking for WCS opponents. He already did that.

No opponents detected.

Almost time for the Masters 8 tournament, and Motostoke was bustling due to the encroaching tournament being held in its massive gym stadium. The Budew Drop Inn was jampacked with barely any rooms left. Thankfully, Naka managed to snag a room three weeks before the hubbub, so she was able to get one reserved for herself.

Prepping for when she would have to do the survey around Motostoke's area, she sat atop her Sceptile backwards, the six-foot-seven-tall lizard walking around the city amiably as she laid across his back, her head using his neck as a rest as she was on her phone trying to figure out how to word this email to the city council for her job.

Right now, she was in a brain fart. Professional letters were easy to make, but the idea that she could lose her reputation if she made it weird had her finding it too difficult to work on it.

It was then that she noticed her Sceptile stopped, eyeing another Sceptile from further away. Naka looked over and saw a turquoise Sceptile with a yellow bottom jaw and band around its hips unlike the green and red coloration. Even the seeds and eyes were of a vibrant red coloration than the normal yellow.

Naka's eyes widened.

Next to the shiny Sceptile was a young, lanky man who was about a couple inches taller than she was, with curly light brown hair. This kid must be here for the WCS, of which Naka wasn't a part of. She had no rankings within the WCS, nor did she want to bother with the tournaments or partaking in rank-up battles because the pressure would just be too much for her. Where would she even place?

She loathed to think about it.

Her Sceptile ended up walking towards the two, and Naka laid slack against his back with a groan. "You're making me talk to people now? Jeez, I see how ya are..." Naka huffed, really needing to work on her email. It was extremely important to the city's surrounding Pokemon and their habitat, and for the future trainers' safety. Her Sceptile just ignored her.

It was then the Sceptile stopped short of the two, letting out a series of greeting clicks to the other Sceptile and a friendly wave. Naka slipped off the Sceptile's back and hummed, pushing her knuckles into her back to get it to pop before turning back around to greet the boy. "Hello, my partner here couldn't help but notice a shiny variant of himself. I'm Nakano Saito, I'm a field researcher from Sinnoh. This is Silenus, one of my starter Pokemon. You must be here for the WCS, right?" She smiled, hoping to maybe help this guy out.
