Adrianne Silvers (Normal Class: 96,094)
Tangelo Island, Orange Archipelago (June 2nd)

Adrianne seemed to be a touch amused at the reactions, this girl seemed to have an energy to her not that she'd be able to explain what if you asked her...call it a feeling. One of her Pokemon even seemed to give the warning eye to Reggie which she'd be unable to hide a chuckle at before Reggie introduced himself and she realized she had not done the same.

"Oh uh my name is Adrianne. Adrianne Silvers. Apologies." Adrianne said, before he noticed the Grafaiai stick a tongue at her which she simply smiled at before she decided to let her Pokemon out; Aqua the Azurill and Ace the Spearow. Playing up to their roles Aqua seemed sheepish and had kept close to Adrainne's leg, while Ace just looked at the new girl and her various Pokemon with that intense gaze of its. "These are my friends, Aqua and Ace." Adrianne said as she introduced her party.

"Good friends? Aw that's sweet, we're getting there but only met yesterday." Adrianne admitted before she clarified what they were out here for. "Well, I need to find a Pokemon that can use Surf, and the only chance of that is to go fishing~!" Adrianne said smiling as she held her newly purchased fishing rod with that that infectious energy she carried.

"So uh, to who do we owe the pleasure?" Adrianne asked the girl, since they had done introductions on her side and she seemed quite curious herself.

Wilford commanded Thwackey to attempt to block the incoming attack, being too close to properly dodge. Unfortunately, the Beat Pokémon's attempts at defense only ensured that each of the swipes connected, though the recovery provided by Grassy Terrain served to mitigate the damage.

"Dual Branches!" Wilford issued a custom command for his Thwackey. The Thwackey had learned Double Hit upon evolving, and after getting used to the new move, Wilford had begun applying the basic methodology of Double Hit to effectively attack with Branch Poke twice. To that end, the Grass Type took his branches, charged them with energy, and jabbed them towards the Lombre's chest.

"Create some distance," Wary about Lombre trying to close the distance, Wilford commanded his Pokémon to make a tactical retreat after the custom technique. Swiftly yet forcefully shoving the Lombre he just attacked, Thwackey ran away on all fours while waiting for a subsequent command.

"Razor Leaf!" On the retreat, Thwackey pointed one of his sticks towards the Lombre, causing another barrage of leaves to be sent in the direction of the Jolly Pokémon.

Yuki's eyes widened and she dove for the slope. The salty water hit her tail end, which stung but because it grazed, it didn't do too much. She felt absolutely disgusted though, and that Hex barely did anything! Even Naka noticed! Such a filthy barnacle being a blight in the pretty icy floor that Ludwig made for her.

She looked back at Naka, who was smiling sinisterly. "Make your winter wonderland, Yuki! Make Glacia proud."

With a nod, she flew out from under the sloped ice wall, her body glowing an icy white before a sudden storm blew around her and covered the field. It began to «Hail». In the hail, her Snow Cloak activated, making her appear as if she was blinking in and out of the storm.

She appeared to the side of the Cradily, holding out her hands as a storm whipped up and blew harshly at the Cradily, having used «Blizzard».

Battling: Wilford Pine and Thwackey (sSoul) vs Lombre
Field: Grassy Terrain [1 turn]

Milo crossed his arms and let out an amused chuckle. Man, this kid's good. He'd have to up the ante a little. The Double Hit-Branch Poke combo was clever, but the Lombre had already jumped back after the first hit, having used his hand to grab the stick and direct it away so it didn't hit as hard. After dodging the second hit and the shove, he skulked about the battlefield, watching the Thwackey running away and using a Razor Leaf.

"Alrighty, time to turn up the heat, Lombre." Milo called out. "«Mud Shot»." The Lombre's hands turned brown and he put them on the ground. He then flung up mud, slapping down the razor-sharp leaves and mitigating most of the damage, the Grassy Terrain making him feel better and better, but it was going to end soon.

If he was going to play it ranged, then so will they. "«Bubble Beam»."

Lombre fired off a stream of bubbles, but instead of heading towards just Thwackey, he spread it around, essentially making a wall of bubbles with explosive pops. While it wouldn't hurt Thwackey, it would make it harder to see him as the viewing was now distorted and the Lombre's coloration can match the Grassy Terrain on its last legs. The Lombre then charged forward, getting ready to ready another attack.

Mentions: Wilford Pine and Thwackey (sSoul), Milo and Lombre

Oh, this guy's Thwackey has Grassy Surge. Of course, his Grookey didn't have it, but Wilford's did. He rolled his eyes. Oh well. Double Hit and Branch Poke into a combo move. Clever. He felt himself grinning. Milo's Lombre was a bit more formidable than it seemed, and also just as clever. Razor Leaf would be good against that Bubble Beam wall, but Cole also knew that the wall was to set up and disorient where Lombre was going to come from.

Crafty kappa things... He always disliked them. Far too jolly or far too creepy.

He sighed, listening to that annoying gross lemur screeching had given him a migraine. The Totodile looked over at the Grafaiai, confused. Blinking.

Wait, did he hear that bitch correctly? Root for him?

Well, Wilford did need all the rooting he can, but he wondered if there was some ulterior motive. He didn't want her to pester Wilford after the fight. He sighed, cursing at himself that he was going to be talking to this drunken lady. Oh well.

He looked over at her, eyes dull. "Hey, are you rooting for him because you think he'll lose somehow? He has this in the bag, don't be so condescending." He went back to lazily watch the fight. Now that he opened up conversation with this lady, he had to be careful with his words. Or else she'll make an enemy of him, too. And he frankly didn't need that right now. His Totodile looked up at him, then Briar, then Baba. She tilted her head, as if curious.

Looking at that Grafaiai and Smeargle, Cole knew they were rather strong, as much as he hated to admit it. He didn't want to tussle with her in a Pokemon fight, and her musculature - despite the alcohol consumption - led him to believe she also knew how to fight. Well, time to be as cordial as he fucking could...

Yippee...

Eterna City Gym
Pokémon & Status: Cradily {Item: Leftovers(Knocked Off} [Sleep: Ended]
Field Effects: Hail (5 turns)

While the temperature began to plummet and hail was created, Cradily Shuddered once more. It released toxic shots into the air as Sleep Talk called for «Sludge Bomb».

Gardenia took note of the way Froslass vanished into the hail. Snow Cloak? Tricky, but manageable. As the Froslass closed in on Cradily the lumbering bloom groaned; it was awake. The biting cold of Blizzard washed over Cradily and the prehistoric stem reeled away from the frost.

“Now Cradily, «Stealth Rock»”

Withstanding the cold, Cradiliy once more gathered rock-type energy, seeking to set up the trap that had been interrupted earlier.

Gardenia narrowed her gaze to peer through the snow, gauging the damage Blizzard had done. Cradily held strong. Without its defensive buffs Blizzard might’ve deleted half its health in a single-go and even with them it was clear Blizzard had exacted a painful toll.

“Did you think you had me cornered? Ehehe.”

Unfortunately for Naka, she had fallen right into Cradily’s stall game. From full health Cradily could withstand three or four blizzards, more than enough for it to use rest and return to full health. The battle would transform into a vicious struggle where Naka made little to no progress. On the other hand, Cradily could attack while it slept, it would be chip Froslass down eventually.

It seemed Naka would now pay the price of allowing a defensive pokémon to further its defenses. If the researcher had nothing else up her sleeve, then Cradily would be sticking around for quite a while. The clock was ticking, and time wasn’t on her side.

Looking through the hail, it was a bit difficult to see, but she did see something akin to Sludge Bomb right before the hail got worse. That's six moves? Seven? And there was definitely a Rock-Type move, there had to be.

The Sludge Bomb had barely missed, but Naka couldn't exactly see if it hit or not. Or if she was poisoned from it. Sludge Bomb had actually barely landed, as Froslass saw the dark figures coming up and coming down, so it was a little easy to find. She still got grazed by it though. Sadly, the Stealth Rock had to be set up, but thankfully the only Pokemon weak to it was Froslass. Which meant Froslass had to stay out.

"Eerie Aurora!"

With her hands in the air, Yuki created not only a dazzling display of «Aurora Veil», and then orbs of light came raining down upon the Cradily, encircling it to confuse it with «Confuse Ray».

She blinked due to her camouflage, flying about the hailstorm heightening her chances of dodging.

"Grass Pokémon vs grass Pokémon! A vegan delight! Who will win? The lillypad pokemon or the grass monke. Staaay tuned to find out!" Briar said, commentating. Thwacky went from a fake out into a razor leaf. A decent combo to be sure. The battle seemed to be doing well, then she heard Cole speak. Briar adjusted her sunglasses, glaring down at those eyes. This was worse than a hangover, thus was full on suffering.

"Huh...? Bag? No, no... I don't know nothin' bout that, but I do like rooting for the underdog, ya know? The lil guy. Not that I think he'd lose... Why? Are you guys friends or something...? He seems to be doing fine. Not bad, actually." Briar asked slightly turning more towards Cole. She turned back to watch the fight. After watching the fight go on for a few minutes she leaned forward again.

"Yeeeaah. He got this" Briar said again. Baba ran up Briar's arm, resting her chin on top of Briar's head. The lil monkey eagerly watched the battle just like her trainer.

Gardenia tsk’d. The challenger sure loved to gamble with confusion, but it was a perfectly valid strategy.

With both pokémon quite entrenched, Gardenia knew this would become a battle of chance. Thus, her plan was set.

“«Sludge Bomb» then «Rest»!”

If she could poison her foe then the odds were I her favor, if not then only lady luck knew who would come out on top.

Cradily swooned with confusion; it dazedly searched the hailstorm for Froslass and hazarded a toxic buckshot in the snow-summoner’s general direction. Thankfully, Cradily resisted the beguilement of confusion for now; a confused stagger at the wrong time could spell the end. Soon enough the Ancient Bloom was drifting off to sleep, its health recovering once more.

It seemed they would be here for a while.

Naka tilted her head in thought. She'd rather not bring out her Sceptile at this moment, but it was hailing and that would spell disaster. But he also was her absolute strongest on her team. He'd be able to beat through her defenses, but that also proved to be a gamble.

Yuki, however, was getting a bit frustrated. She couldn't get rid of this stupid thing. And none of the Pokemon Naka brought with her had Heal Block, did they? Groaning, she dropped suddenly to avoid a Sludge Bomb, then traveled upwards.

Meanwhile, Naka looked through her options. Cradily were weak to Fighting, Ice, Steel, and Bug. She'd have to try for a Blizzard again once it woke up, because she knew she wasn't going to win this stall, not unless she lowered this Pokemon's Special Defense and Defenses somehow, or raised her Pokemon's own Special Attack and Attack.

They'd have to wait for a few though. "Yuki, «Hex» the floor!" Yuki looked with confusion, but ended up doing as she was asked, sending a giant pulse wave on the icy floor, the red haze cracking the ice and making it completely uneven, even shattering the icy wall put up.

She was setting the stage for her next Pokemon. She'll have to use one more switch, but they had to wait until the Hail was gone.

Gardenia hummed, tongue in cheek as the battle lulled. Cradily would use sleep talk until it woke up, then it could rest, rinse and repeat. A slow and steady battle, ironically, it wasn’t her style at all. Either way, this was something the challenger needed to overcome.

Cradily shuddered once more as Sleep Talk called...apparently nothing. That was unfortunate. It must’ve tried to call Rest or Sleep Talk itself.

“I hope you haven’t been stumped here challenger, I’ve got so much prepared for you.”

Laura's eyes glowed at the sight of the opposing Oddish succumbing to paralysis. This was a prime opportunity and she knew it. The green haired girl clenched her fists. "Alright keep up the attacks Magneton! Use Magnet Bomb!" She yelled out. Magneton's body began generating a different kind of blue electricity before forming a set of blue orbs around its magnets. Those blue orbs would then lock onto the downed Grass type before launching directly towards it.

"How could I turn down such a tempting offer?" Monty grinned and fell into step alongside Azumi, and Oracle looked up at her from her trainer's side with an uncharacteristic warmth in her large red eyes.

The prospect of shopping intrigued the Absol, and the blonde woman certainly had a better sense of style than useless Monty. If her eye for spas and clothing was as good as they seemed, perhaps Oracle would walk away with an item befitting royalty to start her collection.

Monty picked up on his partner's lack of irritation, and looked between her and Azumi. "Looks like she's warming up to you. Félicitations, madamoiselle, you're the first one."

Azumi Towers- Lumiose, Kalos - July 2nd.

"Really? Well now I feel special." Azumi blushed a bit and pointed down the avenue. "How about we go down this street? There's plenty of shops here."

Azumi led the way, showing the different shops available. There was a great variety, considering it was one of the most popular cities in the world to do so. Nana and Lily seemed to be ignorant of the other's presence, giggling and talking while walking ahead of the group. Azumi finally noticed a store up ahead, "Beware of the Grandbull.".

"I heard that store has really fun clothes, um more hip and happening?" She said as they stood in front of it.

The store had a shadow of the famous Johto Pokemon, Grandbull. It was a black building with dark pink lines and decorations. People were walking in and out, mostly teenagers and young adults. It had everything, from styles that died decades ago to the new stuff going on.

"This isn't usually my taste, but I think it fits you." Azumi tried not to look at Monty, not wanting to judge the man on his style. "Plus they have a lot of variety for Pokemon. We can find something for Oracle when she battles or is using something casual. We'll try something more formal down the line."

Esther offered a grip on the glider to Desmond, a mischievous twinkle in her eye. “Hold on tight! Wingull, take us up!”

For a moment, it seemed that the bird-powered glider couldn’t handle the weight of two human beings but after a small hitch the beat of two dozen wings picked the duo off the ground. The strain was noticeable, but flight remained possible. The only question was—“I wonder if our sail will hold?” It was a windsail, after all, she didn’t think they were made of the same stuff as gliders.

Esther turned to Desmond, promptly remembered who she was talking to—and then shut her mouth. “I’m kidding, we’ll be fine.” She wasn’t and they’d be super dead if one of those water pulses hit them. But hey, as a certain yubi-yubi doggo might say: have confidence!

Reckless she might be, suicidal she was not. Esther knew that if they both stayed on the glider, they would be shot down sooner or later. “Bring us closer to its head!”

As the Wingull carried them over Blastoise, Esther offered a short prayer. She sure hoped turtles weren’t slippery!

After a deep breath, she jumped!

"You think so?" Monty wasn't so sure about Azumi's assessment of his style, especially considering the kind of clientele that was streaming in and out of the store's doors. He really just dressed like the older beaux voyous in the Old Guard, but maybe she knew something he didn't.

No time like the present. The Lumiosite and his Absol led the way into the store, and the former had to squint a bit to adjust his eyes to the dimmer light. The interior was painted black as night, with high ceilings casting flourescent white rays that reflected off the polished floor, and it was filled end to end with the kinds of clothes that screamed, 'Easy target, please mug me!'

Monty's eye was drawn to a wall plastered in frankly indescribable designs. Row upon row of cartoonish drawings, probably printed on the t-shirts that lined the shelves below, but they were all so...weird. Oracle split off from his side to check things out herself, and he picked up one of the shirts for a closer inspection.

"Who buys this stuff?" Monty wondered aloud as he unfolded a t-shirt emblazoned with a cartoon pikachu wearing a pimp's suit, with a cane in one hand and a hand-rolled cigarette hanging from its mouth. Wait, that wasn't a cigarette. The sleepy looking, dull-red eyes were evidence enough for that.

He turned around and held it up to show Azumi. "Get a load of th-"

"You're old, mister."
"Yeah, what are you doing here?"

Huh? Old? Monty looked down at the two voices that chirped from behind him, and saw two little brats staring up at him in wonder. Both were boys, dressed like their entire wardrobe had been sourced from the store, and if Azumi wasn't there he might've given them a taste of his back hand right then and there. That's what he would've gotten back in the day, at least.

Unfortunately Azumi was there, so he just scowled and said, "Didn't anyone teach you brats not to run your mouths?"

"Oh, I'm sorry sir. We just thought this might be your first time, so we wanted to let you know the best stuff is in the back!"

The first kid seemed apologetic, and the other nodded profusely along with the story, but something about it seemed...disingenuous. Like they were messing with him. They high-tailed it away from Monty and started snickering once they thought they were out of ear-shot, and the criminal gave Azumi a 'What was that?' look.

"Should we check out the back, then?"

Well, it doesn't really look like Esther would be in Mélancolie path, so back to Lumiose he goes. With a filled stomach, and his things all packed up, it was time to go back to Lumiose City and look for Esther, or even Monty and Azumi there. To be honest, he didn't really know where to look for Azumi and Monty or Esther, but they did say they were going to a spa, wherever that was.

But, if he knew Esther enough, then she'd probably gone shopping. Maybe clothes shopping too! Okay, that's the destination, but how would he get there? The always awake city of Lumiose City was like a maze when you aren't a local, although maybe his Rotom Phone had a GPS function, or something. He'd never really used his Rotom Phone, it was mostly for taking pictures and calling people, so even if it had a map function, Nico wouldn't even know it.

He checked his phone, and luckily, there was a map function. That's good, and so now, it was time to look for the shopping district of Lumiose City. Soon enough, he would arrive at the Shopping District, it was a lot more crowded, in Nico's opinion, probably cause more people were clothes shopping than anything else, but it was still his main objective to find Esther, or even Monty and Azumi.

Azumi Towers-

The store was something new to the young student, she was fascinated by the way the store was decorated, even if she didn't understand most of the humor in it. As she looked through some of the funny shirts, holding up one that said "My Girlfriend Vaporeon.", Unable to understand why someone would call their Pokemon their girlfriend, unless they were friends... Is there a my girlfriend Gardevoir shirt? Nana might've liked it, she then heard Monty.

Azumi giggled at the kid's interaction with the older man, "Sure, lead the way. Maybe I will find something that makes sense. The lights are pretty though."

July 2 - Lumiose City, Kalos

Oracle completely missed the interaction between her trainer and the two kids. She was far too interested in the glass cases scattered around the store to notice much of anything, in fact. Within them gleamed jewelry of all kinds; gold bracelets, silver chain-necklaces, and gem-encrusted rings. The Absol was smitten, eyeing each piece greedily. Any one of them would be perfect to begin her collection, but which one?

Her head swiveled in search of her trainer, whose useless paper was the one thing standing between herself and beauty. Just where was useless Monty?!

Useless Monty was in the back of the store, practically slack-jawed at the shelves riddled with...merchandise. He recognized some of the...items...from the brothel, but those barely scratched the surface. 'The best stuff is in the back,' his ass! Gem-encrusted rings, silver chains, gold...dear Xerneas, was that supposed to go where he thought it did?!

He and Azumi happened to be stood next to a display of furry handcuffs, and the criminal nodded at them and grinned. "Those the kind you'll be issued?"

Azumi, Why is that Ditto dressed like that?, Towers-

"Um..." Azumi looked around at the different toys that were available, not understanding why some were shaped in certain ways or why some were so big.

She turned around to see the handcuffs Monty was showing her, which only made her confused. "Why would I want my prisoner to be comfortable? They look weak and impractical, I rather use the ones assigned to us." She looked around once more, "I see, so these stuff are used for torture? Some of them make sense but these called fleshli-"
Azumi noticed something that made her laugh, "Why I didn't know men liked Donphan so much, they even got cute underwear with Donphan themes. That's silly." After a good chuckle she looked around once more and faced Monty, "So will you be buying something from here?"

Montagne Khastil
July 2 - Lumiose City, Kalos

Clearly Azumi had managed to maintain her innocence. Maybe that was why she felt so strongly about the system failing him, or whatever. Monty commented on the handcuffs coyly, "I don't know, I could think of a scenario where a pair of those would come in handy. Maybe two pairs."

Either way, she was right about one thing. "Yeah, you would think these were used for torture." Some of the instruments looked as long as his forearm and twice as thick. Did girls actually use those things? How could he compete?!

On the topic of actually buying something— "Nah, I'll think I'll pass on Beware of the Granbull." The clothes weren't his style, and the back section was entertaining but not exactly enticing.

Oracle finally tracked the pair of humans down, eyeing them quizzically at their choice of browsing material. She looked at Monty expectantly, like he should drop everything to follow her, and drop everything he did. "What, found something you like?"

The Absol led her walking wallet trainer to the jewelry display and sat down in front of it, nodding with her horn to the collection. "Something from in here?" Monty asked as he inspected the contents. Cheap, probably fake gold bracelets glittered in the flourescent light. "Alright, I'll get you one."

The criminal called over one of the workers, a youngish girl who rolled her eyes but unlocked the case anyway, and Monty selected a sturdy-looking piece. The real thing would set him back, but he wasn't too upset about parting ways with forty bucks. Oracle didn't ask for much more than food, anyways. He might as well treat her to some tchotchke jewelry.

Azumi Towers-

Azumi shrugged and looked around while Monty followed Oracle. She had to admit the handcuffs were a bit cute and would be good to practice with... She grabbed a pair of pink handcuffs. She started to walk towards Monty, when something got her eye.

"Oh! A bunny suit!" Azumi's eyes looked over the package that contained said costume. It seemed it have the ears and tail, followed by an outfit. She turned the package around saw what the outfit looked like, "Oh, I don't think that's right. What if it's cold? Maybe it's for the beach? Leather isn't ideal for it though... Maybe some other time."

Once she set the item down, she made her way to the cashier, paying for the handcuffs, Nana's cookie keychain and a pair of cat ears for Meowscarada. She took her black bag with colorful graffiti, provided by the store for her purchase, and waited by the door for Monty.

Gwen Tucker - 17th of June - Eterna Gym, Eterna City, Sinnoh
Gwen turned around quickly and flashed Hana a smile, "Nice to meet you," she replied simply, almost in a haste as to not even miss a second of the starting up battle. She was mesmerized. Even if she had her own gym battle just now, this was a whole different deal. To think that she was actually there to witness this as well. Sitting in the crowd. It all felt so much cooler than to watch these big battles from TV.

That Cradily appeared a lot tougher than what Gwen could have guessed at a first glance, but these were Gardenia's top pokemon. That title of being the Master of Vivid Plant Pokemon was really on show here. Naka wasn't lacking in any way either, trying to change the battle field to give herself an advantage. Ozzy shuddered beside her, not liking the cold at all while Cobalt wasn't really bothered. Gwen zipped up her jacket and squinted to try and make out what was happening amongst the snowstorm in the Gym. Noticing Ozzy's shivering she grabbed him under her arms to hopefully shield him from the cold a bit.

Desmond Andrews (Unranked)
Yellow Rock Isle, Whirl Islands, Johto (July 19th)

Desmond gripped onto the well, the grip that Esther was kind enough to handle. Well, if they were about to die least he'd have something to hold onto so...silver linings!

Soon enough Desmond with Politoed on his back were taken up as he rode with Esther and this Wingull powered system as they took to the air and Esther decided to do something which proved to be quite the mistake: She began talking. Specifically, she mused about how unsure she was of whether this Wingull could hold their combined weight before she tried to walk it right back.

Desmond had no words, his eyes shot wide as clearly his expression screamed "are you kidding me!?" as once more he had been left to contemplate his life choices at this "joke" but it had been too late to back out now.

Soon she moved them over the head of the Blastoise, and then with a prayer she seemed to jump as Desmond looked speechless.

"This girl is crazy..." Desmond muttered to himself, but with less weight he kept tight to the glider as he glanced at Politoed. "T-try to offer cover fire with Mud Shot. Aim for the eyes!" Desmond called out.

"Poli!" Politoed cried, firing a few shots from the glider down to the head of the Blastoise as his aim had been to hinder its vision however he could but more importantly just offered cover for Esther and...whatever she intended.

Regardless, he had to persist, and despite the visual distortion, he had a general idea where his opponent was.

"Stay on your guard while using Growth," The terrain was bound to end any minute now, and Wilford was keen on keeping some sort of power boost for the remainder of this battle. The Thwackey flexed his muscles, absorbing power from the sun. Simultaneously, he kept his sticks raised and his eyes fixed on the curving visage of the opposing Lombre. Now forty bucks poorer but with a very happy partner, Monty joined Azumi at the front of the store. Oracle's bracelet was boxed up in a neat little package, and as he fumbled with it he asked, "Got everything?"

Oracle nudged her partner impatiently, clearly eager to stunt on everyone they met, but when Monty finally got it out of the box he wasn't sure where to put it. The first thing that came to mind was her right ankle, but when he tried to fasten it she withdrew her leg and shook her head. Alright, so no anklet. "Where else, then?"

The Absol turned her head so that her horn was facing him. There? "You, sure?"

He fastened the bracelet around the base of her horn where it connected to the rest of her fur, and Oracle scampered off to one of the windows to inspect her reflection. Yes, that was perfect! Maybe now these peons that so heavily populated Monty's home would recognize her majesty!

"I'm glad you like it," Monty commented before turning back to Azumi. "How about we try something a little more...grown-up now?"

Milo

Date: August 2
Location: Turffield Stadium, Turffield, Galar
Pokemon Team: Lombre, Eldegoss

Battling: Wilford Pine and Thwackey (sSoul) vs Lombre
Field: N/A

Milo had a silly smile on his face. He didn't have to do this too often, which had its own kind of thrill. Of course, he felt a bit bad, but this kid was pretty darn good.

As the figure of the kappa got nearer to some bubbles, the bubbles further away from him made his visage tiny and towards the sides, while the bubbles that had him running straight towards it had his visage get bigger, soon enough zooming in on parts of his body.

"Mud Shot!" The Lombre - still behind the bubble barrier - smashed his hand into the battlefield, immediately got a glob of mud, and flung it at the Thwackey. "Knock Off!" The Lombre then burst through the bubble barrier, hand cloaked in darkness as he went in to slap the Thwackey across the face.

Cole Forrest

Date: July 21
Location: Turffield Stadium Lobby, Galar
Pokemon Team: Grookey, Totodile, Rookidee, Galarian Meowth, Stufful, Pancham, Magikarp, Trubbish
WCS Rank: 75,432

Interactions: Briar Hightower, Frida the Smeargle, and Baba the Grafaiai (ThAtGuY101)
Mentions: Wilford Pine and Thwackey (sSoul), Milo and Lombre

Ugh... Now she was commentating?

Cole groaned, rolling his eyes as he tried to block her out, but it was proving to be very futile. He'd have to find another seat. But why was she glaring at him like so when he spoke to her? Her line of words that he couldn't even process was even a sentence had turned into something coherent, but Cole still wanted to die. Why was she calling Wilford little? Granted, they were new, so he couldn't get upset about that. Hearing this lady complimenting how well he was doing though had calmed him down.

Wait, he just met the guy, why was he suddenly so protective? He shook his head, then said "Yes" to her question if they were friends. His Totodile stared at the Grafaiai for a bit longer, wondering if she could prank the thing, but decided now wasn't the best time. She didn't want to get Cole thrown out because he was being unruly, even if he wouldn't be.

It seemed that Milo had pulled out a trick from his sleeve though. For a farmer with the vernacular of a dust-child, he was rather clever. He'd have to be careful when he were to fight his stronger team. Well, stronger was debatable, he was sure the Pokemon would have an array of moves not normally seen, but would be around the same experience level as his own. Just about.

Milo

Date: August 1
Location: Turffield Stadium, Turffield, Galar
Pokemon Team: Oddish, Eldegoss

Battling: Laura Willham and Magneton (Grand Master Koop) vs Oddish
Field: Harsh Sunlight [2 turns left]

The Oddish struggled to get away, only for the tiny black, metal bombs covered in blue electricity to fly towards it. He squealed, trying to run away, and dove under one, but the other homed in and smashed into its back. Man, did that hurt.

"Darn tootin'! Oddish, Weather Ball!"

It shook its head after having tumbled again, and got up. Thankfully, its body didn't lock up as it created a white orb around its leaves, which then turned red and burned with fire, and threw it at the Magneton.

Battling: Gardenia and Cradily (kyuukestu) vs Yuki the Froslass -> Hanu the Infernape
Stats: 4 Free Switches

Naka was cursing herself for letting Ludwig be on the defensive earlier. It's not like she was able to use Taunt, mainly because it didn't stop Sleep Talk from calling moves. But it did prevent her from using Rest for at least three attacking rounds... Which meant...

Damn, she'd have to use another switch, and this thing wouldn't burn until it woke up. Hail was going to be around for a few attacking rounds, so...

Man, this was a gamble. And this thing wasn't exactly too strong to knock out Yuki in enough hits either. Better save Yuki for later. "Yuki, return." She held out her PokeBall, returning the surprised Ice/Ghost-Type and sending out a Pokemon with an Expert Belt around his waist.

The Infernape roared, the fire on his head growing stronger and bigger as he got used to the cold, though the hail still stung. The Stealth Rocks hit, making him wince, but it wasn't too much. "Break those defenses!" Grinning, the Infernape's wild eyes trained on the Cradily through the Hail, his fists hardening as he prepared two moves. He rushed the Cradily with «Mach Punch», aiming to hit it at the base of the creature before switching to «Power-Up Punch» with the other fist to land in the same area, that Expert Belt glowing just slightly to empower the super-effective hits.

Chu the Pichu

Date: 1 Month Ago; June 17
Location: Eterna City Gym, Sinnoh
Pokemon Trainer: Nakano Saito

Interactions (Chu): Hertz the Noibat (JoyPaws), Marley the Kantonian Raichu (Hecotoro)

As Chu got dizzy from headbanging with Marley, she noticed a Noibat coming in to also headbang with her and the Raichu. She giggled, running up to the Noibat and waving at him, then showing him her sparkling mitted hands, waving them about as if they're pom-poms. Then she spotted the soda. She pointed to it, eyes wide and asking to share it. She stopped her hands from sparkling, so she didn't shock the contents.

Reginald Valerias

Date: June 2
Location: Tangelo Island Beach, Orange Archipelago
Pokemon Team: Emeric the Shiny Haunter, Elvira the Munna, Bob the Shedinja, Large Marge the Drifloon, Missy the Misdreavus
WCS Rank: 69,989

Interactions: Adrianne Silvers (Godjacob), Briar Hightower and Baba the Grafaiai (ThAtGuY101)

Reggie didn't know how to think of Briar. Yeah, she was polite, she kind of smelled of alcohol, but other than that, she felt kind of blank? Like she was a hard person to get a read on. He smiled when complimented though, bowing. "Thank you, miss." He watched as Elvira flew just out of Baba's reach, unsure if she should let the lemur touch her with those weirdly colored fingers. But after seeing her make the shape of a flower, she cooed and floated back down to her, showing off her flower. She didn't mind that Baba did the eye pointing at Reggie, who just looked at her with a raised eyebrow, as if he was both confused and thinking she was crazy.

"Harmful...? You mean handful? Unless you meant the first one..." Reggie mused, finding her vocabulary odd.

That was when Adrianne revealed her Pokemon and he smiled. "Yup. This is Elvira the Munna, and Missy the Misdreavus." Missy huddled behind Reggie, unsure of what to make Briar and her odd Pokemon and she didn't want to get close to any of them.

He chuckled sheepishly at being called good friends with Adrianne, shrugging. "I mean, we do got the vibe." He teased, chuckling. Adrianne's energy was bringing back Reggie's energy, and he laid his fishing rod against his shoulder. "Yup! I'm gonna see if I can't catch anything that's also a Ghost-Type, which the few I can remember are Frillish, Jellicent, and a special one from long ago that kind of looked like Basculin, but I'm not sure if they're even a thing anymore. Anyway, I want to specialize in all the pretty and cool ghosts." He beamed, Missy humming in delight behind him.

He waited for Briar to introduce herself, but seeing as Reggie had already heard her introduce herself to some kids, who were now nowhere to be seen (likely getting away to avoid getting slapped by the Grafaiai too), Reggie looked on at the waves, then pursed his lips.

What kind of Pokemon were out there...?

Pokémon & Status: Cradily {Item: Leftovers(Knocked Off} [Confusion: 1 turn] [Sleep: ended]
Field Effects: Hail (ended), Challenger’s Aurora Veil (1 turn)

Gardenia wasn’t really paying attention. After all, she could do naught but pray with her pokémon asleep. The flow of the battle would be decided by the roll of Sleep Talk. The gym leader’s gaze wandered over to the challenger; although she couldn’t do anything about the situation on the battlefield, she could gleam vital information from the trainer’s person.

Nakano seemed to be a quick thinker, using fake out to disrupt the formation of stealth rock right off the bat and clearly, she’d come prepared to deal with Gardenia’s grass types, her Ludicolo—a beautiful specimen of a grass type—had been prepared with ice beam. Her second pokémon had been a Froslass and—‘Oh?’

As the hail dwindled Froslass was returned and an Infernape came out. A fire type. It seemed Nakano was very prepared for grass types. Gardenia was familiar with the flame ape pokémon, it was a member of Sinnoh’s starter trio after all, and its pre-evolutions were a common answer to Gardenia’s gym. While Cradily shuddered once more, Gardenia crossed her fingers. What would it call? Brine? Earth Power? Sludge Bomb?

If Nakano had switched her Infernape into a super-effective Earth Power then things might actually be in the gym leader’s favor.

Gardenia narrowed her eyes and then...watched as Infernape strolled up and delivered a one-two of Mach into Power-up Punch. Sleep Talk had called another dud. Her rotten luck had the gym leader scowling, but not for long. Naka’s choice to wait out the hail also allowed Cradily to wake up. Why leave to luck what she could do herself?

“Now Cradily, «Earth Power»!”

The prehistoric bloom shook itself awake and the earth trembled, a foreboding glow arose as the earth beneath Cradily’s tentacles began to fracture. Gardenia’s eyes went wide as the earth erupted and threw Cradily sky-high. Cradily had chosen now to hurt itself in confusion!? The triple whammy of two failed sleep talks and confusion truly had the gym leader reeling.
Maybe RNG strats were the meta after all?

He'd been walking for maybe a few minutes now, until he bumped into someone. He turned to see who it was, and lo and behold, it was Monty! It wasn't Esther, but Monty and Azumi was a good second pick!

"Monty! Azumi! I'm so glad I found you guys. I.. kinda ran off trying to look for Esther.. I couldn't find her though." He mentioned. Soon enough, he grabbed something out of his bag, it was half of the sandwich he made during the cook off. "Here Monty, I cooked this half an hour ago.. I said I would be cooking stuff for you and Esther, but I haven't found the time." He chuckled lightly, and handed Monty the Croque-Monsieur.

Infernape hitting the Cradily had surged his body with strength, but was suddenly surprised to see it wake up. It was asleep? He barely could tell. The Earth Power lit up underneath them, and the Infernape backflipped away, laughing hysterically in his screeching way upon seeing the Cradily uproot itself and being flung into the air.

With a huge grin, the Infernape's hand became cloaked in a dark wave, alerting his use of «Taunt». Right before the Cradily would land on the ground, he shot forward, sending in another «Power-Up Punch».

Naka smiled. She always got people with this set unless they had Ghost-Types. She was sure Gardenia didn't have any of those on her team right now, so she was more than excited to just watch her Infernape go wild.

Tut Tut, greedy, greedy Nakano. If Naka had taken advantage of the last turn of confusion to strike Cradily then chances were she could've finished off the ancient pokémon. However, she had opted for taunt and then another Power-Up punch. Naturally, Gardenia wasn’t going to sit there and let her.

“Head it off, «Earth Power» into «Brine»!”

The earth trembled as Infernape closed in, the ground in front of it glowing for a brief moment before vomiting out a deluge of rock and debris. If Infernape pushed ahead or hadn’t been quick enough, then it would’ve run right into the explosion of earth. Even if it had managed to avoid earth power the dust and debris were a good smokescreen and a trice later, a hail of salt-water bullets flew through the dust.

Nakano let out two sharp whistles, as she saw the glow before Infernape did. He reacted as if his legs were like a springboard, having needed to react based on sound more than sight for his training as a Monferno to calm him down and be aware of his surroundings. He jumped and sailed over the Cradily, avoiding the Earth Power. The Earth Power had blasted some of the ice upwards with him. He was able to see the Cradily now and it used Brine.

He grabbed one of the broken ice as a shield and landed just as one of the waters of Brine grazed his shoulder. His fist glowed and he shot forward with blazing speed, having ducked under most of the barrage using «Mach Punch» and used the ice shield as cover before discarding the melting plane of ice. Then, his limbs glowed and he fired off attack after attack with each limb of his body in rapid succession, his «Close Combat» even making the icy earth underneath him rumble, his Expert Belt glowing to indicate its strength.

Pokémon & Status: Breloom {Item: Toxic Orb}
Field Effects: Rain (5 turns),

The triple super-effective combo of power-up punch, mach punch and close combat, boosted by expert belt eventually proved too much even for the bulky Cradily. The fossilized blossom let out a cry and then collapsed. Gardenia sighed and returned her pokémon to its pokéball.

“Well done challenger, I almost though Cradily had you stumped.”

Infernape...tricky tricky. It was fast and it was strong, it would be difficult to deal with. She’d need to be careful with her next choice.

“My next pokémon will be...Breloom!”

Her next pokémon appeared on the field with a fire in its eyes.

“Make it Rain!”

The Mushroom boxer bristled and the sky inside the gym darkened, small rain drops beginning to fall. In addition, a purple light glittered from Breloom’s held item—the Toxic Orb.

Ron, good thing Hana can't hear what's coming out of my room, Towers-

"That's it! Destroy them!"

Ron raised his hotdog in the air and shook it angrily, before taking the final bite out of it. He took the tray with french fries and offered some to Gwen, while he focused on the battle and slurped on his drink like if trying to pass the ice through the straw.

"Come on, Infernape! You took on my Furia, show us that power form yesterday!"

Meanwhile, Marley kept head banging like there was no tomorrow. She was either really inspired by the match or forgot the music was only in her head.

At the same time, Luz tried to make Fluffy feel better. She wasn't aware of what Naka looked like and the noise mixed with the different smells were messing up her sense. So, all she could offer was cuddles and purrs to try and ease the Flareon's torment.

Azumi, I can't believe it's not butter, Towers

"Well I bought the handcuffs, they're not perfect but you never know when you might need to tie someone down. Nana got a keychain, though she doesn't have keys... And Lily a pair of cat ears, which I don't understand why."

Right when Azumi was about to compliment Oracle though, the cook showed up. "Oh Nico, nice to see you again. We were just about to continue shopping, if you're interested."

FINALLY! It was down!!

"Woohoo!! Nah, I just didn't think Cradily was that much of a wall, but I obviously haven't experienced a gym leader's bulky Pokemon before. That was awesome!"

Naka beat that stubborn fossil and next was... A Breloom. And it had a Toxic Orb.

Oh boy...

Hanu was busy trying to figure out how to breathe after knocking out that Cradily, having wiped his hands together as if he just took out the trash. That was when a Breloom showed up and caused it to rain. But... He wasn't going to be using fire. A smile creeped along his face, but he knew that Breloom were fast, and had those sucker punches for hands. He got in a wide stance. Now, he was a bit weary from using that Close Combat, his defenses a bit lacking now.

But that was fine.

His ear perked up upon hearing Naka speak. "Breloom has Poison Heal!" Hanu's ears drooped. Oh no... Hanu hoped this guy didn't have Spore, because this was starting to sound like another, yet different stall set.

He was usually out to knock out one or two Pokemon before returning. Body glowing with sky energy, he shot forward, homing in on Breloom with an «Aerial Ace».

Field Effects: Rain (4 turns),

Gardenia’s lips twitched upward for just a moment before her brows jumped in surprise. Infernape rushed in for an aerial ace. She had been expecting a flying move, but more precisely Acrobatics. It was a popular move among Infernape and its power would’ve been lowered by its held item; in that case, Breloom might’ve survived the quad-effective attack. However, Aerial Ace had been outside her expectations, and it was much harder to evade.

“Hold on Breloom!”

Unfortunately, the quad-effective move, boosted by the expert belt and the earlier power-up punch was too much for Breloom and it went down moments after it had come onto the field. Gardenia adopted a look of shock but returned her fainted Breloom.

After another careful consideration, she knew few if any of her pokémon could take a full-powered move from Infernape. She’d have to play it risky, it was time to send out her first ace.

“Roserade, it’s your turn!”

As the rain soaked the battlefield, Gardenia’s Roserade appeared and locked its eyes onto Infernape.

“You know what to do!”

Naka's jaw dropped. One hit...

Now, she knew her Infernape was a beast, but... Wow.

She chuckled a bit sheepishly, even apologetic. "Ah, I wasn't expecting that. Sorry, Gardenia." Out next was her Roserade. Eyes widening, she knew what it had. It must have Weather Ball. It only made sense. "«U-Turn»!"

Hanu was just firing up, but hearing Naka's stern command had him reassessing the situation. Then it dawned on him.

Oh, yeah, better get outta here.

He charged headlong with lime green energy trailing behind him, trying to get a hit in so he may return safely. To bait her out in attacking though, he'd suddenly lunge to the side and come in from the Roserade's side to avoid being too predictable. In his current state, getting hit by a Water-Type Weather Ball might actually ruin him, and he wasn't too keen on letting her get away with that.

As Nakano’s Infernape rushed in for a U-Turn, Gardenia smirked. “Let ‘em fly Roserade! Double up on «Toxic Spikes»!”

With her Infernape threatened off the field and some of her time consumed in a switch, Roserade swiftly attempted to lay down two sets of Toxic Spikes on the field. Although Nakano might have avoided a potent super-effective move like Weather Ball or Extrasensory, she would pay for the decision all the same.

The first layer of toxic spikes quickly sunk into the field to lay dormant with the stealth rocks and Roserade was already spinning in to set up its second layer...

Briar smiled and nodded at Adrianne whom apologized for her delayed greeting.

"Don't worry, sugar. Nice to meet you too" Briar said giving her a friendly nod. She paused to look at her two pokemon. A small water baby mon, and a large bird. She smiled and glanced over at them. Baba looked straight into the bird's eyes. placing her fingers on her left hand together in the shape of a beak. Then put the beak shaped hand next to her face so she'd look like a bird too.

"What adorable little Pokémon, you got there!" Briar commented. Without warning, one of her pokéballs opened. Out came a clodsire. It was Claudia. She burried her head into the sand. Then before long, she was gone. beneath the many grains of sand. Her head eventually poked out of the sand, near Briar's feat.

"Cloood" Claudia chimed in. She looked at the other Pokémon cheerfully, but too comfy to interact with them. She was snug as a bug in a rug and that's how she was gonna keep it. She continued listening to Adrianne, whom admitted to only knowing Reggie for a day.

"A day and you already look like childhood friends, ah hehehe! I kid of course, got any Pokémon on your mind, you think you wanna catch?" She asked. She looked over at Reggie whom corrected her on her grammar which made her chuckle.

"Ah heheheh! Yyyeeeah, sure hun. Whatever you say... Anyhoooow" Briar paused to take a step to the side to get a better look at Missy.

"Nice to meet ya, lil cutey!" Briar said. She looked back at Reggie who explained her and Adrianne's vibes. Briar smiled and nodded. Taking a step back and crossing her arms as she agreed.

"I know, right?! That's probably why I just had to walk up to you guys. When you got that connection, you give off an energy! Of sorts. Like bam! Hehehe! Ehhhhh... I'm still Briar, Eh hehehe! Briar Hightower! Baba! Claudia!" Briar pointed at herself. Then at Baba. Baba jumped up and down on Briar's shoulders and stared intently at Missy. Even more intently than she had stared at anyone else at the beach that day.

"Clooood...!" Claudia cheered as Briar pointed at her. Briar was uncertain on whether or not they were paying much attention. Briar put her finger to her chin, and began to look back and forth at Reggie and Adrianne. As if trying to figure out a mystery. He pointed at Reggie's face. Specifically his eyes.

"Hmmm....! You Should get some more sleep, sugar! Clearly your out of it today, eh hehehehe! I'm out of it too half the time, though usually in my case, its not sleep deprivation, but that's besides the point...!" Briar said still chuckling.

Briar still had two bottles of liquor in her bag. Would anyone notice her pull one out, and get herself a drink. Just a little one! A shot! A shot glass. One shot was all she'd need to double the fun of the match. One glass. That's it. She reached for her bag. Held her hand over the cover and began to slide her fingers in. Deeper they went until she could feel her hand, slowly wrap around the tip of the bottle. Room temperature alcohol. It had been in her bag all day long.

"Fuck!" She muttered under her breath. She turned and heard Cole confirm he was friends with the boy down there challenging Milo. Oh damn. She had almost forgotten about the match. She looked down with a glazed half look. Oh wow. The battle was still going on. She assumed he was winning but couldn't tell. She pulled out her hand and placed both of them on her hips as she stood up. She squinted her eyes. Yep. Nothing had really changed. It was still Lombre vs Thwacky. Clearly not that much time had passed.

"Huh..." Briar mused. Her loyal canine friend, Frida helped her sit back down. Frida sat there eagerly watching the match, keeping her hands to herself, unlike Baba who had snuck off, and grabbed the drink of the unsuspecting kid. The monkey drank a sip from the glass. Then a few more. Carefully placing the glass back down where she found it so not to get into trouble. She scurried back to an equally oblivious Briar still watching the match. Looking back, the kid didn't suspect a thing.

As Naka smirked, in came Infernape and out came Aerodactyl. The flying fossil screeched out a war cry, then proceeded to let his tongue loll out like a goofball. He winced a little as the Stealth Rocks hit, and then looked down to see the spikes. He tilted his head in curiosity, then looked at the Roserade setting them up. A rock with brown protrusions was being held in a choker around his dorsal spike.

Huh... Cool.

Ordering her 'no thoughts, head empty' Aerodactyl, Nakano commanded. "«Sandstorm»!" The beast screeched and sand encircled him before being let out in a sudden blast to cover the field in a sandstorm, which was going to last longer as his Smooth Rock glowed slightly.

While Weather Ball was going to become a Rock-Type move and it was going to deal super-effective damage, that didn't matter too much. Well, it will because that Roserade was a beast, but now things were going to get all nice and set up.

This was going to get annoying. Fast.

Two layers of toxic spikes and stealth rocks; Gardenia gave a subtle nod as Nakano threw up a sandstorm. “Keep your eyes on the sky Roserade, «Grassy Terrain»”

Gardenia knew that stealth rock dealt even more damage to pokémon like Aerodactyl who were weak to rock. So rather than zone in on a weather ball—which would probably be enough to drop the Aerodactyl in one or two hits—Gardenia set up Grassy Terrain to preempt any attempts of using Roost. If Naka dared to try...well, the gym leader chuckled darkly.

“Take aim Roserade, we only need a solid hit or two!”

Now she was on the look-out for any chance to nail a hit, perhaps if her opponent tried to boost up with a move?

Naka saw the grass flare up with celadon energy, which only had Naka pressing her lips in a tight line. "Aw man, I can't do that, but I must. «Defog»."

Wings spread out wide, he sent forth glowing gusts to blow away not only the Stealth Rocks, but the Toxic Spikes and remove Grassy Terrain, blowing the magic away. The Aerodactyl felt too stuck in one spot, so he began flying around in circles above the Roserade, watching her closely and making sure he didn't get sand on his tongue.

Now, what was she to do?

The Aerodactyl prepped himself to use a combo move, his body lightly glowing with latent energy.
