Asahi's eyes gleamed when she heard she was going into the tent. It was perfect! She could get the prince's approval. But she would have to do it on her own, Kas had to stay outside apparently, not to mention she walked away a few moments ago. Typical, Asahi had to do everything in the Hasa team, even getting a decent job.

"Alright, time to put on a show!" She stretched her hands upwards. "I'm watching you, punk." She shot a glare at Shura and took Keito's invitation to enter the tent. "Sparkling Sparkles, world premier."

Asahi stepped inside the comfy tent, compared to other places she had stayed at and the rest of the circus, it was a pretty good looking room. She looked around, checking the people already inside and then setting her eyes on the prince. She was taken back by the size of the man, since she thought a prince was supposed to be healthy and much better looking. Still she kept walking until she was close to the center, waving at Hikaru with a smile and then glaring at the shinobi with him.

"This is a nice place, might take it into consideration when I become a famous star." She looked around the room, sniffing the air. "You got anything to eat? I'm starving."

"Wait up!" Kas called out, coming out from some crates and walking rapidly into the tent. "Seriously Megami, you can't just keep walking face first into places, trouble or anything really." The cat stood a bit closer to the entrance, where she could keep a better watch of the tent, unlike her partner, she couldn't see everything at once with special eyes. "Turn on your Byakugan."

"Oh, right." Asahi giggled at her own clumsiness before holding up a finger in front of her and activating her eyes special ability. "I hope this doesn't ruin my makeup."

Glancing from the corner of his eye as he looked behind him, he could see Tsuki glance back in his direction with a look of contempt. Besides some giggling, she hadn’t even bothered to respond to his question besides an irrelevant remark. Playing hard to get or she just wanted to mess with him. Not that it bothered the silver-haired boy anyways. That type of response was already expected. Of course, he allowed his posture to sink a bit, to appear depressed after being rejected.

After that, it seemed like Keito had made some plans to split the group up. Tsuki and him were going through the specifics, but it appeared that the Hasa girl wanted to keep the Hyūga out at least and keep the numbers even. Either way, he’d probably be staying outside. Which was fine with him. Two people from each group would likely be inside, bringing the total up to four. If Tsuki was smart, she’d keep Keito outside as well, but even with her supposedly bold act, she would have to play the passive role eventually. That just left him to chill outside with the rest.

He let out a snicker when Tsuki seemed to remember how to count. For all her boldness, she couldn’t even step inside the tent herself. Pathetic. Of course, he looked away to hide his amused expression and ended up finding that the Sand girl had wandered off. An opportunity had displayed itself and he spoke up before turning away.

“Well, I guess if we’re just chilling for now, I’m gonna go check on that Suna girl and maybe take a bathroom break, if that’s alright. I’ll be right back.”

A show for the locals… Karui blinked in slight confusion, but she had no problems whatsoever with showing off her acrobatic skills in the air. Not missing her sister’s hidden message, her antennae emerged and twitched, immediately picking up on the most prominent chakra signatures in the area— one softened by familiarity, and several others that shone dangerously jagged. Two were similar to Asahi’s and one of those hovered on the edges of Karui’s recognition.

At least five obstacles, one of which I’ve met before. She didn’t rule out the possibility of other concealed or out-of-town ninja who could become visible at any moment. Still, unless they all attack me specifically at once, I should be able to feel the air currents around their strikes and dodge. All this ran through her head as she arrived with Sagiso, hovering inches above the ground and surveying the other shinobi, noting the individual smell-tastes picked up by her antennae from each of them. Her hand rested calmly, not bristling yet, on the hilt of her blade.

“That’s fine,” Sagisō eventually muttered after inspecting the quiet one.

She flashed a smile at Karui, as if telling her to relax and then folded her arms at her side allowing her fingers to fiddle with her hair. Her own eyes darted between Keito and those of his group, stopping for a moment to chew on her lip, as if conflicted about her decision.

Ayaka had been standing in front of the door for what seemed like a while until a Stone Shinobi, particularly the one who passed her when she took door work, had called her about the Ruckus in the Tent, and asked for her to deal with that.

"Understood," Ayaka responded, "I'll assist Kai with this situation."

Ayaka had seen the group form, and was a problem, the one group, three females from what she could tell and a cat, had demanded the two Hyugas stay out and everyone else was not taking, so she went to assist Kai.

"Hello, I am Ayaka Ushikai." Ayaka turned to clown.

"I understand that something didn't go exactly right, but, Kai, let's figure out some common ground." Ayaka whispered into Kai's ear.

She then prepared for Absolutely anything.

It took a moment for him to get the go ahead from Keito, who actually did waited for approval from Tsuki. The blue-violet eyes of the silver-haired boy found themselves meeting with her magenta eyes for one last time. With Hyūga all around him, his time here was running short. Needless to say, the fate of his plans rested on her shoulders. Whatever relationship they had was pretty shaky, so he could only smile when Tsuki let him go free.

“Thank you, Riceball.”

With a wink, he mumbled that last part under his breath when he turned around. He began to walk to towards the side of the tent and eventually around to the back to find Lin. When he was behind the tent, he found her working on her puppet. It appeared she was a puppet-user. Good to know. Well, if she was already back here, he’d have to go elsewhere to use the restroom. It was only common decency, after all.

“Hey, since you’re already out here, I’m just gonna go find somewhere to use the restroom. If someone comes looking for me, just let them know. Can you do that for me?”

Lin's cheeks were slightly blush from her drink. "There isn't shit out here! What's a ninja s'posed to do out here all day" Lin yelled. Sadly Dokyo/Nohl hadn't spoke in a long time. So Lin just stood there staring in a distance, when she heard something. She turned and with a confused look, she placed one hand on her kunai pouch. her face became vacant, "Oh... You... Sure sure... bathroom, don't slip" Lin said not thinking anything about him needing the bathroom. Lin doubted anyone would ask her, so she had no reason to tell anyone, unless they asked.

Kai stared at the girl and the cat who had entered the tent with confusion. He really didn’t have any idea what was happening right now but he didn’t feel safe with her in the same area as him.

What the hell is going on out there? I don’t even wanna know, my top priority right know is to keep the prince and hikaru safe from these two.

Once Ayaka entered the tent he felt a tad bit better about the situation, but he was still on his guard. When ayaka whispered in his ear he gave a quick nod and grab a kunai from his pouch.

“Hikaru stay behind us! Ayaka, you and me need to make sure they don’t let these two get close to the prince or hikaru.”

His serious expression turned into a grin as the thought of a battle came insuring made him incredibly excited.

“I am so ready to kick her ass!!!”

The smile on Sagisō’s face faltered as the silver-haired boy departed. A glimpse at his headband and his call back to their time at the chunin exams was more than enough for her to puzzle out his identity. Her lips pressed into a line as she recalled their last encounter; maybe they could’ve had a more proper fight under different circumstances.

Ultimately, it was all secondary to the task at hand and Sagisō remained impassive as Kiro vanished around the corner.

Regardless, whatever tension was outside the tent was evidently incomparable to what was going on inside. Given how loud his voice was, Sagisō had no trouble hearing his bold declaration.

Given this had been the exact opposite of what Keito had requested of ‘Kai’, Sagisō thought it only appropriate to pin the Iwa-shinobi with a withering look that basically said:
‘If you don’t stop that guy then I will.’

“Haha, thanks.”

Thanking the girl from Suna, Kiro turned and headed away from the tent. There were vendors and buildings everywhere he looked. Passerby wandered around with their families and friends, entertaining themselves with food and other fun activities. It was a sweet sight, but not for long. Unbeknownst to him, there was a certain guy in particular who just so happened to pass him as he headed towards a building a good distance away. If anything, Kiro was lucky that guy hadn’t shown up any sooner than he did. He would’ve most certainly have lost focus of his own goal here. That goal being…

Cursing silently, the teen then pulled back his hands while he was behind the Prince. Swiftly, he performed four hand seals faster than someone without a dojutsu could see, perhaps to showcase his competence. After performing the Tiger, Rat, Bird, and Snake seals, in that order, he reached underneath the Prince to try again. His strength seemed to have increased from whatever jutsu he might’ve done as the ninja appeared to be doing a good job lifting the Prince up. However, that all changed when the Prince then fell back onto his back.

“Fuck!”

Cursing again, the teen suddenly found his hand bearing all the weight of the prince while they felt like there were being crushed. He did his best to pull his hands out from underneath the heavy man before falling back himself. Although this could be seen as embarrassing, the teen didn’t seem to be at all.

“Just kidding.”

"I suppose now's a good time to start the fireworks."

By fireworks, he meant activating the sealing tags placed onto the back of the Prince. Only fools would think he had struggled that much to lift up that overgrown buffoon. One with a keen eye should've been able to discern that a shinobi didn't need hand seals to perform basic chakra flow in the first. Some with an even insightful eye, perhaps someone like the boy who he had just walked past, would've also been able to recognize the hand seals of the fire release technique he had used. It was the same one he had used to plant the seals all over the many vendors across the area. Of course, the Hyūga with the byakugan should've noticed, right?
Not only the two suspicious individual at the front of the tent, strange things seems to be happening all around him. "Are those tags scattered around on the vendors around here? I can't quite tell what they do at a glance, I'll need to keep an eye out for them." Not only that, but the silver haired shinobi bearing the forehead protector from the mist had a very familiar chakra signature coming from him. "There's no mistaking it, that's the chakra of someone from the Uchiha clan. Why does someone from the mist posses the same chakra markings as one of our village's noble clans?" He thought. "Well, it doesn't matter right now. I'll give in a report once this mission finishes."

However, the young man from the mist isn't clear of suspicions just yet as the tags that were put on the various vendors and even on the back of the prince showed a distinctive chakra signature. One that so happens to match the silver haired young man.

That's the thing, the supposed Chūnin never said a word to anyone else about the tags. The only one who had even mentioned the tags was actually Megami. Rather, he preferred to call her Smiley. Although she didn't appear all that bright, the girl had unknowingly started to become a growing hindrance to his plan. Fortunately for him, Smiley had mentioned she didn't exactly get a good look at the tags, indicating she didn't know everything about them and where they were placed. The best part was that Keito had split everyone else up from Smiley, including the one who would've been able to figure everything out, Roulan. Kiro wished he could see her face when all her plans went up in smoke. He wouldn't mind his cursed eyes framing that into his memories. To be honest, he didn't know why, but something about her just rubbed him the wrong way. Perhaps it was that smug cockiness she had while waltzing around acting like she was in full control of every situation. Roulan even had Keito buckling to her commands. It was a shame, it really was. Without hesitation, rather than taking a piss, Kiro placed his right hand on the ground to activate his jutsu.

"Fire Style: Explosive Flame Formation."

Imbued with fire release in advance, this technique made the explosive tags all the more destructive. This jutsu allowed the user to release a large number of explosive tags to stream onto whatever their target was and if used for a surprise attack, it could be hidden under any surface. Non-human, of course. This is why Kiro had to apply the explosive tags onto the back of the sleeping Prince. At least he would die in his sleep. Once activated, all the tags he had set up when detonate simultaneously, causing the entire area to light up. You see, every area he'd marked had multiple tags placed, which only increased the explosive of damage of the empowered tags. The tags spread out on each vendor and the back of the Prince once the activation was cast before everything was instantaneously lit up. A bright yellow glow would emanate from all the areas marked, from the vendors to the doorway of the tent, and lastly the Prince when the explosions occurred. The explosions were scattered across the vendors Kiro had passed on the way to the tent, and the front tent itself was also engulfed in a relatively large explosion. At least, anyone standing by the front of the tent would've been impacted by the blast. While everyone's attention outside would be on the explosions happening out there, inside would be even more chaotic. With Kaito and Ayaka standing with their backs towards the Prince and his son, facing Asahi, they would have no time to react to the large explosion which completely engulfed the Prince, and everything else around him. With explosive tags underneath the Prince, even if Asahi had managed to notice the tags after she had activated her byakugan, it would've been too late for her to do anything, especially with two bloodlusted opponents in her way. That was assuming she even knew or cared what the tags were. Essentially, all three jinchuriki would have to focus on protecting themselves from an explosion strong enough to leave a crater in its aftermath. The jinchuriki should be fine, thanks to their healing factor, but the only thing remaining of the Prince would be a roasting, lifeless carcass. As for Kiro, the last sighting of him would be of a white pigeon flying out into the clouds, completely free.

~Before explosion...~

Lin was walking around not far from the tent when. She had put her glass away and was pacing around. Nothing to see, since that Kiro boy left.

~After explosion...~

BOOM!

"What the hell?!" Lin yelled. Lin was shocked to hear the explosion. It was definitely bad. Lin wasted no time in running around the tent. Hurrying as fast as she could. She didn't have much of an obligation to find out if they were okay, nor did she know any of them, but she wanted to see anyways. She eventually reached the front of the tent. It looked bad. Just as she had imagined. Lin stood outside the tent with Dokyo standing by her side. She hadn't intended on running in there but she looked inside to see if she could see anyone that may have needed help leaving the tent.

Asahi took a step back, a bit surprised by the reaction from the ninja that was with the young boy. Was it that bad to ask for food? Would that look bad on her or on the bodyguard? Whichever way, she was not going to let this kid take away her shot of being in a circus show. With a shrug Asahi held her hands up to show no intent of harm, and that's when she made the connection. The boy that was hitting on her sister before was walking away, but what got the young jinchuriki's attention was the tags spread around the area, with the same chakra as him. Her heart drop as she noticed one on the fat sleeping man, who was near small boy.

"Kas, multiply!"

The ninja cat acted on command, holding her hands together to make quick seals, transformed once again into a clone of Asahi. With a quick smoke bomb, Kas charged ahead of Asahi, stopping just in front of the two guards. Asahi used Kas as a lever, jumping of her shoulder and using her wind chakra to boost herself over the two standing. She landed in front of the frightened prince, picked him and turned to look at the ones behind her.

"Bombs!" She yelled at top of her lungs while Kas transformed back to her small self.

Asahi then bended her knees, sending as much chakra as possible to her feet and sent herself flying with a blast wind. She covered the prince with her body as they both shot out of the top part of the tent, while in the air, she sent another blast, this time in front of her with her right hand, pushing them away from the area. Her Byakugan watched as Kas left the tent, bolting like a cat, because she is one, while the others began to move. She covered with her body the prince as much as she could, curling up while the sound of the explosion roared through the sky and sent her flying even further.

~Lin Arasaka, Midday...~

After they began escorting the Prince to their eventual intended destination, and the story was to continue. She had already put Dokyo back onto her back. Puppet arms and legs wrapped around her torso like a backpack and Dokyo's cloak covering most of him up. Lin was sitting up front with two other ninjas. Casually making her fingers bend and twist.

"... So...? Either of you interested in some new legs? Jump twiiice as high!... Ehhh? Eeeh? Don't be shy! Any takers?" Lin asked childishly grinning hoping one of the other ninjas would let her cut one of their limbs off to be replaced with a new one.

~~~Moon Prince Escort Mission~~~
It was midday and the escorts were walking along the caravan under the hot sun making sure that everything was functioning as normal. The team had been assigned positions by their squad leader Shura Hyuga for defenses around the caravan. Raiku Uchiha was personally assigned near the front of the caravan with his partner Kaito Watanabe. Raiku had heard about him due to the boy's reputation but he wasn't used to being assigned to him as a comrade in a mission.
I should probably get to know him, maybe he can tell me something useful if we get in a fight.
"So, umm, Kai. Why'd you decide to be a ninja? Do you like to fight?"
"I'll take that as a maybe!" Lin said to the people at the front before back flipping and casually walking to the back of the caravan. Lin needed not to rush. The caravan was heading in the opposite direction as her. Lin glanced over at the people in the middle area. Two hyuga ninjas. Both with those same freaky looking eyes. Lin continued and eventually reached the end. Lin was to stand back here with a ninja named Ayaka.
"You must be Yayaka, the other ninja I'm assigned back here to watch out for along the caravan route!" Lin said walking backwards. She eventually turned around. Lin contorted her fingers causing them to make strange cracking sounds. Lin looked around. Looking beyond the trees and around the nearby area as they headed to their path.
"You want some... You know..." Lin said gesturing to Ayaka's legs.
"You want some new legs!" Lin said excitedly and casually as if cutting ones legs off and replacing them was such a commonplace practice. Lin held one hand over her kunai pocket in case the ninja accompanying her said yes.
"I wonder if anyone is gonna try attack us" Lin said.
Kaito tugged at the collor of his outfit as he was sweating profusely while fanning his face with his hand. Kaito wiped his forehead with his shoulder while narrowing his eyes due to the sun. He was kinda regretting his choice of going on the mission at this point and wished he bought along some summer outfit for the occasion.
He stopped thinking to himself when the uchiha asked him why he decided to become a ninja and if he liked to fight.
“Yeah, I love to fight, exchanging attacks with opponents one after the other Especially when I was younger I would like to test my strength against most people from the academy. Altough I did end up getting a bad reputation in the process, hehehehe.”
He began to chuckle while scratching the back of his head. He unzipped his jacket and tied it around his waist.
“Um… I never got your name.”
Ayaka had been on the back of the Caravan, keeping an eye on things behind. A Sand Kunoichi had popped up from the front as she noticed the Kunoichi proceed to ask a few questions, as she said the wrong name.
"Ayaka, by the way and I don't need new legs, my legs work fine, and also, I wouldn't try it, especially mid escort." Ayaka responded the Sand Ninja, "I need to be in one piece when I get back home."
"Shura!" Ayaka called out to the Commander, "Everything seems good around these parts for now."
She then waited for a response, preparing for anything, and hopefully Lin doesn't bother her about her legs any more.
Figured, he does look like the type to want to battle a lot... Though I myself enjoy them too so I can't say anything about that.
Raiku noticed that Kaito had sweating a lot from the hot weather to the point where he stopped wearing his jacket. The black haired boy himself didn't care too much since he had brought canteens of water in advance which he could refill himself any time he wanted. This was in addition to being used to high temperatures being a Fire release user himself. Regardless of his personal situation, the Leaf shinobi took one of his canteens and offered it to Kaito while replying to him.
"My name's Raiku Uchiha. I just heard about you from some people in the Leaf so I already knew your name. But don't worry about your past affecting how I see you, I'll figure that out personally."
Speaking of how I see him...
The Uchiha briefly used his Sharingan for a moment to see what Kaito's chakra was like out of curiosity, though in the blink of an eye, literally, his eyes were back to normal.
He has a bright chakra color... but there's another chakra signature inside of him. I guess that confirms the rumors... Besides that he seems to be able to use Wind and Lightning Release which are quite useful. He seems capable then, glad he's on my side.
~Lin Arasaka...~
Lin looked at Ayaka as if she had called Lin's mother a bitch and smelled like Mori rotten eggs. Though keeping a mostly straight face, Lin simply began clicking her fingers faster briefly.
"I see, I see... Focusing on one's mission for now" Lin said as if Ayaka would eventually change her mind in regards to getting new legs.
Lin looked in the direction that Ayaka was speaking towards. One Shura who appeared to be this ninja's commander. Lin's eyes began to glow and her fingers began to rapidly click once more. This commander must have been an important person. One that could use new arms or legs, perhaps. Lin made a somewhat friendly smile masking her nefarious and bloody true intentions.
~Hisato Gato...~
Hisato stood in the corner of the kage's room, standing there casually as if waiting for some ninjas to show up. For now, Hisato could simply stand there and wonder what their mission would be.
As per usual, the first thing Sagisō wanted to do was gather information. They hadn’t been able to get much from their early-morning encounter, but now that the prince and his caravan were on the road, time was ticking albeit slowly. The process of vehicles, largely horse-drawn, wasn’t exactly a picture of speed and haste.
It had been easy enough to overtake the caravan and position themselves a few kilometers ahead. Priming the road for an ambush would be a decent idea, but the effectiveness of that ambush came down to their enemies and that brought Sagisō back to her need for information.
“What do you see Megami? Chakra natures? Anything of interest?”
Asahi sat there, pouting. She had been upset ever since she didn't get to audition for the circus, just one act, that's all she wanted. But no, they had to go. She understood why, but that didn't stop her from being moody. It's not like their target was moving fast, they could build their own circus before the prince made it across to land. Anyways, she did as she was told, being within range, she activated her Byakugan.
"Same guards as before." She said with an annoyed tone. "They're lined up by two in front, two in the middle and two in the back. They have two like me, one in the front and one in the back and the nasty Hyuga in the middle, they probably already know where here." She stood up and dusted her hands. "Are we attacking anytime soon? I'm bored."
Kas sighed and looked at Sagiso, waiting for instructions. She wasn't looking forward to dealing with Asahi in her current mood, so she had been sticking to Karui or Sagiso as they moved.
Walking beside the wagon carrying the prince and his son, Shura was running what had happened earlier in the day over in his head. "I still can't fully understand what their was behind making it known that they plan to attack us. What use is there to reveal you plans to the people who are clearly going to oppose you? They were either fools or have enough confidence in their abilities that they don't think their reckless stunt will hinder them in any way." Shura internalized. The Hasa girls' bold threat still fresh in his mind. "In any case, we can't let our guard down during this escort mission, especially now that we know we have opposition." The young man said to himself.
After some time, Shura noticed one of his squamate run by, telling him that she had not seen anything out of the ordinary for the time being. "Good to hear but keep your guard up, we never know what might happen out in the open." He yelled back.
Suddenly, running over from the other side of the wagon line, was Shiho. The young Hyuga had her Byakugan active while she ran to her brother with a message. "Hey big bro! I saw them!" Coming to a stop in front of her brother, Shiho pointed down the path their caravan was supposed to travel. "A few kilometers ahead over there, I think those are the same girls from earlier! I'm pretty sure they're waiting for us." The young girl relayed.
Hearing this, Shura activated his own Byakugan, observing that those were indeed the same strangers that had revealed themselves in front of the tent. "I see, I assume they already know that we know about them. They have their own Byakugan user after all." At that sentence, Shura's mind trailed off again. He was still shaken at the fact that someone outside their clan has their very protected Dojutsu. However, Shura was quick to snap himself back to reality. "Go tell those in the back to prepare themselves, we don't know what those people are planning to be ready to defend our client." He ordered.
Shura raised his arms up and made a cross shape with his fingers. Soon after, a puff of smoke appeared and with it, another Shura was summoned. The Shadow Clone quickly make it way towards the front end of the wagon line while Shiho ran towards the back. The real Shura staying next to the cart containing their employers. "We can't afford to be careless while we lack crucial information."
Sagisō rolled her eyes as Asahi sulked and skimped out on giving a full report. It was nice to know new shinobi hadn’t suddenly appeared, but the questions Sagisō had asked still hung in the air, unanswered.
“Focus Megami. What are their chakra natures? Anything of interest?”
If they were going to plan an ambush then she needed to have an idea abo what the enemy could do. Her first thoughts were of lacing the road with caltrops to destroy the wagons or prevent the horses from crossing; though paper bombs would prove more effective, she'd need to be careful not to accidentally kill their target.
Asahi groaned and once again focused on their targets. She scanned each one and told Sagiso their natures, with the snappy attitude you would imagine an annoyed teenager would use. She kept her Byakugan on, in case her sisters needed it again, and placed her hand on the handle of her sword.
"Anything else? I came here to fight, not to watch people all day like some creep." She drew the sword over her head and let the sharp edge slam on the ground, causing some lose dust to spill into the air. "I think I'm getting better at this."
The jinchuriki lifted the sword and swung it around, spinning her entire body while doing so, just inches away from her sisters. She dragged the big weapon towards a nearby try and swung at it full power, the blade cutting in half way through the thick bark.
"Did you see that?" Asahi looked over her shoulder as she tried to remove the blade from the trunk. "If that was a human, pffft, they would be split in half!" She gritted her teeth as she yanked her sword out of the wooden body and swung it again, this time higher and getting a similar result. "I knew this sword was a good idea!"
After finding out about the Hasa group, Shura had moved to the top of one of the wagons so he could focus on keeping his eyes on them with his Byakugan. The young man was sitting with his legs crossed, resting his chin on his open hand. "Hmm, wild and powerful, probably quite dangerous if it hits. However, her technique leaves a lot to be desired." He commented to himself, seeing the savage way Asahi swung her oversized sword around. "Might be more of a danger to herself than whoever she might face in combat."
Sagisō scoffed; she wouldn’t get caught up in Asahi’s playful attitude. The mission came first. The caravan was fast approaching, and they only had a few minutes until the group reached them. The plan would be a simple one: Karui would swoop in to kidnap the small prince, while Sagisō and Asahi caused chaos among the caravan itself.
“Let Kogane know which wagon the prince is in; keep an eye out, they might try to change his location.”
Sagisō pulled out a kunai and several paper bombs; with the blade, she dug small holes into the ground and buried the paper bombs. Next, she wove the hand seals for the Water Clone technique and created Suigisō. She handed the bulk of her projectile weaponry, bombs, and otherwise, to the water clone and then stationed herself a few meters ahead of the clone. The only thing she kept on her person was her ice bombs.
“Get ready. Remember your roles; Megami, cause chaos among the caravan, Kogane, look for an opportunity to fly in and snatch the prince. Make sure to paralyze him, we don’t want any ‘accidents’.”
Karui glanced back at her two sisters from her perch in a tree overlooking the road and tried to relax a little. Asahi, as per the course, didn’t seem to be having any problems being as goofy and carefree as usual, and Sagiso was as dutiful and level-headed as ever. The natural rhythms of their relationships let Karui ease up just slightly. Still, she kept glancing edgily over her shoulder, determined not to miss her window once it arose.
The girl turned away from the road momentarily when Sagiso mentioned her name, nodding curtly with her reiteration of the plan. When Asahi relayed the direction of the caravan, Karui released her antennae, and sure enough, the smell-tastes she’d committed to memory at their last meeting distantly wafted from there, brought lightly on a breeze picked up on subtle vibrations. She sliced the air in a quick X with a stinger that emerged and disappeared almost in the same instant, calming her nerves.
A big grin appeared on Asahi's face. She swung the sword and placed it over her right shoulder. It was time for her to do what she did best, get in the way.
"Come on Kas, let's show them what Hasa is made off." With a wink to her sisters, she was gone.
She ran straight towards the incoming caravan. The enemy had more than enough time to see her coming and she wasn't trying to hide it. Besides, there was a certain shinobi in the front she had been itching to get a rematch with. Said person had someone with them, which is where Kas came in. As far as Asahi saw it, it was a fair fight.
"What's the plan?" Kas said out loud while running alongside her partner. "Or are we just going to clash with them head on?"
"Head on!" Asahi shouted as she approached the target.
Kas nodded and threw two smoke bombs in front of them. The thick smoke covered the two individuals going through as they ran into it. Upon stepping out however, Kas was gone and in her place was another Asahi. The two identical ninjas kept running forward, with the one on the right blasting into the air, raising the sword above her head, getting as much momentum on her swing as possible. The other Asahi put the sword around her back and took out two explosive kunai from her pouch, which she threw directly towards the first cart in the caravan.
Following Shura's order, Shiho and Clone Shura each made their way to their destination. At the same time, each one of them were able to see their attackers plant bombs in the road. "Hmm, well now we know to watch out for those. However, knowing they're there doesn't mean they'll suddenly disappear. We'll still need to dig the out and that will waste some time." Shura thought.
Arriving at the back of the wagon line, Shiho quickly looked to her two teammates stationed there. "Hey we spotted the enemy, they're a way off but from what I can see they planted something in the road. I think they're bombs." She explained in a rather casual tone. "Oh, and now there are two of them rushing in towards the front of the caravan. But I'm not too worried, my brother sent his clone there." The young Hyuga added.
Likewise, Shura's clone had also arrived at his destination at the front of the line of carts. "Heads up, we got visuals on our enemies. They're not too far ahead by now and have planted bomb in the road, removing them will take some time." The clone relayed.
Asahi and Kas beginning their assault came as a surprise to Shura, he expected them to wait a big longer since they had set down a trap but perhaps that was just a ploy to get the them to lower their guard since they knew they could be seen. No matter the case, the young man quickly adapted to the present situation.
Grabbing a pair of kunai from his pouch with one hand and throwing one to his other hand. He threw one of his kunai towards the incoming explosive projectiles, aiming in a way to bounce it off both of them to either rear them off course of set off the paper bombs before they reached the wagon. Following this, Shura dashed up towards the airborne shinobi. Instead of facing her head on which would be foolish, the Hyuga planned to use her momentum against her. Holding up his kunai to the falling sword, Shura angled his weapon so that the massive blade would slide off the side of of his weapon, pushing itself out of the way using his opponent's own swinging force. He would then transition into a drop kick, aiming to knock Asahi away while she's off balance.
Wild and reckless abandon. That was Asahi in a nutshell.
“You should decide how you’ll get to the prince while I go make sure she doesn’t die.”
Sagisō advanced with her water clone following close behind; unlike her sister, she was in no rush to engage her opponents. Rather than do anything to help the situation, the Skillful Star had opted to watch as Asahi engaged.
Kaito smiled at Raiku and gently took the water canteen from his hand. He quickly opened it and began to drink the water inside, after taking a drink he wiped the bottom of his mouth and sighed in relief.
"Thanks, my mouth was dry as hell."
Kaito gives Raiku a quick bow of appreciation before holding his hand with the canteen in it out towards Raiku to take back. Just as he was about to hand Raiku his canteen though he saw Shura's clone running up to the front to warn them about the bombs that had been planted and that they also spotted enemy's. Kaito smiled at the enemy's part, he put the canteen in his pocket and cracked his knuckles.
"Okay, I'm gonna move to the back to take on our enemies, I don't know what to do about the bombs. Can you handle that?"
Kaito asked as he took off his pouch and began to look at what was inside of it to see what would be of any use.
Raiku smiled back at Kaito but quickly changed the expression on his face when the Shura clone warned them of the incoming attack. He quickly bit his thumb and performed hand seals in order to summon Ramer. He then continued to perform more hand seals and after a puff of smoke the Uchiha emerged with giant crow wings protruding from his back. Even still he created more hand seals, creating a clone of himself which began flying back to protect the people he was escorting.
"I suggest you stay, I already sent a clone further back and we should probably deal with these people in front of us."
The real Raiku turned his attention to Sagiso, the other ninja attacking the caravan which had seemingly just been watching. As he looked at her headband, a moment of realization hit him.
Wait a second... these are the same kunoichi I fought during the Forest of Death! The one Shura's dealing with right now was... Smiley? And I remember this girl too being with her. Weird nation they're from, must be a minor village.
Raiku redirected his mind to dealing with the attack instead of recalling the past experience. He did however remember that Asahi had used Wind Release and Sagiso Water Release. Deciding not to attack with fire, the Leaf ninja instead took out a kunai with a scroll attached to it and a normal one and threw them towards the ground near Sagiso while he himself was running towards her.
She hadn’t planned to get involved so soon, but Sagisō had little choice as a shinobi broke away from the group and as intent on engaging her. The Skillful Star darted to the right and away from the thrown kunai, her fingers reached into her hair and her chakra wove strands into two hair-woven shuriken. They weren’t very tightly woven shuriken, and this belied their ability to burst into a shower of hair-senbon.
She stuck these shurikens to the holster at her thigh and withdrew two normal kunai. Hooking a finger through the kunai handles, she idly twirled them as she awaited her opponent’s next move. Occasionally glancing at him, but keeping most of her focus on Asahi’s fight.
Raiku reached the kunai and didn't directly engage Sagiso, instead triggering the scroll attached to one of kunai. This created oil while the regular kunai he had sent was attached to a string which Raiku sent fire natured chakra through causing the oil to be engulfed in flames. Taking advantage of this, he proceeded to do hand seals and perform a jutsu.
"Fire Release: Revolving Flames Technique."
The flames from the oil quickly moved like walls to Sagiso's sides then Raiku added wind release causing them to begin twisting and turning around his opponent.
“Mmm?”
Raiku’s actions drew Sagisō’s attention back to him; the torrent of flames flaring to life and quickly growing stronger. The distance she’d already taken from the kunai and scroll gave her a solid window of time before her opponent's jutsu could encircle her and she took full advantage of it by swiftly continuing right to add even more distance. This gave Raiku the option of continuing to pursue her with the flames or attempting something else; if he paid attention, he’d notice that the girl had begun to run at a curve and was headed towards the caravan’s flank.
Asahi concentrated on the Hyuga going up to face her. Finally, she could fight a Hyuga straight on. Her blade slid against Shura's kunai, making the blade slide towards the left. To follow up, she felt the wind knocked out of her as both her opponent's feet hit her side torso. Not wanting to lose her sword, she gripped the handle tightly as she started to fall backwards towards the ground. She kept her eyes focused on Shura as she adjusted herself mid air and landed on her two feet, she felt a stun shoot through her legs, probably because of the impact and hopefully she hadn't broken anything.
Without wasting anymore time and watching her airborne enemy, Asahi threw three shiruken towards the Hyuga, the first one higher than the other two, looking to hit him as he himself landed. She tried to run forward after her weapons, but her legs gave a false start. With an annoyed groan she took a deep breath, dropped her sword and united her hands together. "Buddha's palm!"
She concentrated her wind chakra on her hands and feet, before picking up the weapon once again. She could fight better without it, but she was not going to admit to Kas or her sisters that the sword was a stupid idea. She blasted forward, where Shura would be landing and once again swung her weapon, this time from right to left, trying to cut the chunin in half.
Kas watch the other shinobi rush past her and going after Sagiso. While Asahi was clashing with another opponent, she might as well continued to go forward. Her eyes were now set on Kaito. She held her hand up to her fake Hyuga eyes and tried to trick him with her own eyes. If landed, Kaito would see an army of Asahi' suddenly appear and began rushing towards him.
Lin noticed the commotion further up the train, and looked towards Ayaka.
"You think they need our help, or nah?" Lin asked Ayaka. Though not long after, Shiho made an appearance.
"Well shit... I guess this won't be the easy breezy mission, I thought it would be. Time to protect the prince then" Lin said heading towards the middle.
Lin grabbed a handful of her the cloak covering Dokyo as she ran. Lin would eventually reach the middle where the two Hyuga and Prince were stationed.
"Here I am! Hopefully this fight will be over soon, so we can continue the escort!" Lin said tightening the grips of her puppet. Dokyo's arms and legs loosened their grip causing the puppet to fall to the ground. Body awkwardly standing up like a zombie coming to life. Lin stood ready, reluctantly awaiting a fight.
Kaito squinted his eyes and saw a girl running towards him, all he did was grin at this. He quickly made two shadow clones that both began to run towards the girl with Kunai in their hands. He makes one last shadow clone, grabs it by the collar of it's shirt and threw it straight at her.
The first clone went to swipe at her stomach while the second clone went to attack cut her right leg. The last clone that got sent flying towards her and went to headbutt her.
Whatever she was trying to do I don't like it. I need to beat her and see if Raiku and everyone else need help. But I have I feeling she won't go done without a fight, not that I'm complaining.
Ayaka Ushikai, Land of Hot Water, Sept 30.
Ayaka suddenly saw Lin drop a puppet, and brought it to life. She looked around as she used several hand seals.
"Water Style: Water Clone Jutsu."
A clone of Ayaka appeared next to her. The clone then headed to see what was going on as Ayaka prepared for an encounter. She hopped on top of a cart and took a look around. The clone was headed towards the front of the Caravan, preparing for anything. The real Ayaka kept waiting for the moment to strike.
