Lysis' Debut! Vs. Chadwyck

The bolt shot past her head, impacting the asphalt before her and obliterating it, throwing huge chunks up into the air. Lysis bit her lip and tightened her grip on the bike until her knuckles went white. As she was about to hit the mound of rubble she vanished for but a moment, reappearing above the debris. Her bike flipped back and back as she fell back to earth. As her bike flipped she looked at Chadwyck, who appeared upside-down to her though she was the one who was actually upside-down.

Drawing a pistol she shot at the windsheild twice before she was no longer able to. She landed the bike expertly on the other side of the broken asphalt and continued riding as if nothing had even been there to stop her. She hit the breaks, causing the bike to turn and she began to slide down the road on the vehicle, its side facing Chad's oncoming vehicle. Pulling out her second pistol she aimed them both at his car and fired.

The windshield cracked where the bullets pierced through the glass. It was a bit more difficult to see now, but the bullets themselves passed by Chadwyck into the passenger seat. He saw Lysis sliding her way down the road as she opened fire on him, and he decided to do something crazy.

He floored it, the engine roaring to life as the car quickly picked up speed. Bullets were tearing through the car wherever they hit; the result of Lysis' high caliber rounds meeting fiberglass. It was only a matter of time before one penetrated the gas tank, or disabled the engine.

The young man grabbed hold of his sword and grabbed the door handle. "It's a nice car," he thought, "luckily it's not mine or I'd think twice about this."

He opened the door and dove out, keeping himself from crashing into the ground too hard by use of his kinesis. The car began to slowly lose speed, but it would still be going fast enough to cause a lot of damage to Lysis should it hit her skidding motorcycle.

The car had been lucky enough to survive the barrage and was now speeding towards her dangerously fast and wasn't stopping. Chadwyck dived out at the last moment, leaving the vehicle without a driver. Lysis didn't have time to correct the cycle and drive it as one properly should. "Tch."

A burst of light illuminated the area as an explosion resulted from the impact of both vehicles, however, the young woman had been sure not to get caught up in such a deadly blast, and was standing on the median a ways away from the impact zone. The flashing of lights diverted her attention to down the road as a swarm of police cars sped her way, sirens wailing. She could also hear the beats of another helicopter approaching.

The helicopter was armed - it seemed that the law enforcement was well aware what the two were capable of. The military would be there soon. There were no longer any citizen-owned vehicles driving on the freeway, so any chance of escape rested in one of the police cars. The helicopter would be shot down, which wasn't ideal if she was inside, however the copter did need to go down.

"Whoever you two are, drop your weapons and put your hands up," blared a voice through a megaphone that didn't sound all too happy.

Looking at Chad Lysis said, "Since you took out the last chopper I get this one. Why don't you see about getting us a cop car, babe?"

Without waiting for his response she set off towards the copter that was hovering above the freeway. She opened fire on the aircraft, cracking the windshield and startling the occupants, causing the helicopter to swerve off to the side to avoid more shots.

Since she opened fire on them they weren't going to hold back. No one put the lives of law enforcement in danger and got away with it - there was only one way to deal with a hostile individual. The mounted gatling guns began to fire, tearing up the street. Lysis ran parallel to the shots, rolling away to avoid being hit. If even one round met its mark she was done for, one way or another. That couldn't happen, but the idea got her heart pumping even faster. In a flash she was now standing atop another streetlamp, firing again from both of her weapons.

The helicopter again swerved away from the shots, but with careful aim she fired a round into a leg of one of the pilots. It rotated completely as the other pilot tried to stabilize the copter, exposing himself as well and earning a round in his thigh. Acting quickly, she teleported herself inside, grabbed the two men, and teleported back out, leaving them on the side of the freeway. Teleporting back inside she worked hard to stabilize the chopper herself. She knew how to drive and pilot a plethora of vehicle, helicopters included. By the age of twelve she could pilot one better than those two sorry men ever could.

After a few moments she landed the helicopter on the freeway facing towards the hoard of police cars. Taking a moment to relish in herself and how she was a good person saving the two men, she watched Chadwyck with a careful eye, ready to lend him the assistance of gatling gun fire if he needed it.

Chadwyck watched Lysis go without so much as a mutter of protest. She was more than capable of handling a chopper. As for their sudden allegiance, all the better; he tried not to become a target of law enforcement, military, or any other such organizations usually. This battle had been a bit different, though he still didn't think it all the way through.

An epic battle between two super powered individuals in the middle of a heavily populated city? It wasn't really the way that Chadwyck usually operated. Usually he was in the employ of one of said agencies as a mercenary or bounty hunter, and it wasn't often that he was up against someone as powerful as Lysis. Then again, that may have been why he let himself cut loose for once. Serah would undoubtedly have some stern words for him. He smirked as he imagined her irritated expression after seeing Chadwyck on the news. It was probably all over Youtube by now as well.

"Anyways," Chadwyck rotated his shoulder and heard a satisfying crack, "back to the issue at hand: transportation."

The fleet of police cars that tore down the now deserted freeway were rumbling along at great speeds toward the pair of super powered humans. "Try not to hurt them this time," he reminded himself after remembering the helicopter incident. Of course, his little anti-gravity orb of electricity wasn't meant to send the helicopter crashing down, but he should have been more careful.

He sent a wave of flames tearing down the road, right along the asphalt. The flames died a good fifty yards in front of the fleet of police cars; the smell of burning asphalt lifted into the air as the ground bubbled from the heat. There was a single strip in the center of the melting ground, directly in front of a single car.

The rest of the cars' tires sunk into the melting asphalt, slowing their progress exponentially as their tires caught in the tar and struggled to keep spinning. On seeing the state of their partners, the single car that drove through unaffected began to slow, turning to make sure that everyone was all right. Which they were. Their necks may be a bit stiff from such a quick stop, but otherwise they'd be fine. The car that was left would be Chadwyck's prize.

The two officers in the car opened the doors and took cover behind the vehicle; their guns slightly shaking as they took aim at Chadwyck.

"Put your hands on your head and get down on the ground!" One officer shouted, well aware of what Chadwyck was capable of.

The other sort of contradicted the order with one of his own, but the effect was much the same. "Put your hands up, now!" He shouted. This would be the option that Chadwyck decided to follow.

The young man bent his elbows and held his hands above his head. He was still smirking, which the police officers didn't seem to like. The moved forward cautiously, still ducking behind the car. But they exposed themselves enough for Chadwyck to make a move.

He pointed his index finger from each hand at each officer in turn and shot a bolt of lightning at them. Not a large charge, but enough to shock their systems enough to knock them out. Not a moment too soon, either, the other officers were all working on climbing out of their vehicles, and they'd be opening fire any second.

Chadwyck hopped into the driver's seat and pulled up to Lysis, who had landed the helicopter. He could hear the chatter on the dispatch radio; they were making quite a stir, especially now that they were in possession of a police car. He opened the passenger door. "You're chariot, m'lady," Chadwyck smiled.

"I do like a gentleman," Lysis said with a grin as Chadwyck pulled up. Stepping out of the helicopter, she preformed a reinforced jump and landed on top of the chopper. With her legs still reinforced she sent a quick kick to the base of one of the helicopter blades, breaking it off. It ensured that no one would use it to follow them, but no doubt there would be others before long. Jumping off, she landed on the passenger side of the squad car and climbed in.

As soon as she was seated they drove off. Looking out of the back window, she saw the officers scrambling to organize themselves once more, though they were lost with their vehicles stuck. More would come, but Lysis was confident in their ability to lose them. She'd also have to make sure to steer clear of that city for a while.

Looking ahead once more she clicked in her seat-belt and glanced at Chadwyck. They were going well beyond the speed limit, but that was fine. Lysis knew she could also try to win their little duel at this point as well being in such close range, but she wanted a bit of a breather first. Maybe they could kill each other later.

"Wanna grab a drink?" she asked.
