Bug:Scizor, because I like the moves it can learn, and I like its design.
Dark:Mightyena, because I like its Shiny form a lot.
Dragon:Garchomp, because I like how powerful it is when using an Earthquake
Electric:Raichu, because I've used one and its very powerful. I also like how its again Verastile.
Fighting:breloom, because I like fast hitters.
Fire:Quilava, because I like its weasel-like design.
Ghost:Sableye, because I like how it can use Shock Wave and has no weakness.
Flyingriftloon, because balloons are awesome ^^
Grass:Tropius, because it can fly. ^^
Ground:Gastrodon, because I like how it varies between western and eastern Sinnoh.
Ice:Froslass, because it has an interesting type combo.
Normalitto, because they help everyone with breeding.
Poisonrapion, because I like how its type combo leaves it with only 1 weakness.
Psychic:Gallade, because I like its Shiny form and how it evolves only from Male Kirlia
Rock:Aggron, becuase it can learn Surf.
Steel:Lucario, only because I like how verastile it is. (Can learn Psychic, Water Pulse, Bullet Punch, etc.)
Water:Milotic, because It can use Ice beam and is hard to get.

Bug: Scyther, always liked the design aspect of this one and thought it looked the most badass of the bugs out there
Dark: Tyranitar, love this one just for the fact that it is so fierce
Dragon: Salamence no question about it, love the nice dragon form and can be quite versatile as an attacker
Electric: Ampharos, this one always kind of stayed in my heart since Silver even though it isn't that strong of a fighter
Fighting: Gallade, I like the type combo and his overall design, and his shiny form is pretty kick ass
Flying: Pidgeot, gotta love the mullet feathers
Fire: Charizard, can't argue with a classic fire breathing dragon now can you?
Ghost: Sableye, loved the fact that their diet is gemstones
Grass: Abamasnow, first grass type I ever seriously trained, grew on me a lot
Ground: Garchomp, Land Shark ftw!
Ice: Articuno, epic-ness from the original R/B/Y
Normal: Exploud, love the fact that they designed a Pokemon directly around sound
Poison: Nidoking, always liked the design of this one and could never say no to STAB Earthquake
Psychic: Gardevoir, absolutely loved the design and how powerful they can be
Rock: Aggron, this one always seemed pretty cool and I always loved Rockhead + Double Edge
Steel: Metagross, coolest looking steel out there and the type combo rocks!
Water: Swampert, favorite Pokemon hands down, it is an awesome physical powerhouse and I loved the fact it only has one type weakness

Bug:Beedrill. Never used the durn fellow after Pokemon Stadium, but I still love it.
Dark:Absol. It's cry is awesome!
Dragon:Flygon. I looove the eye-cover things.
Electric:Lanturn. This is one of the few Pokemon that look a lot better evolved than unevolved.
Fighting:Hitmonchan. TCG made me fall in love with this one, it just looked so cool!
Fire:Charizard. Blame TCG once again, I got the really rare one once and it was awesome.
Flying:Farfetch'd. Duck + Stick + 'd = Epicness.
Ghost:Haunter. Floaty hands FTW!
Grass:Sunkurn. Uber cuteness ahoy!
Ground:Sandslash. Hedgehog/porcupine thing anyone?
Ice:Articuno. Ice bird of paradise FTW!
Normal:Girafarig. I don't know, I just really like this one.
Poison:Venomoth. It's a TCG again! I like shiny holo cards. ;....;
Psychic:Espeon. My favorite overall, so cute

Bug: Butterfree - It was my first Dream Eater and seeing Drew with one and making it own May kinda made me smile Plus Bye, Bye Butterfree was a great episode. Oh and tis voice on the show is adorable.
Dark: Mightyena - Sheer look and power. Only Dark ive raised all that far.
Dragon: Flygon - Design, cuteness, typing and movepool.
Electric: Raichu - Cuteness, Bad ass attitude in the show.
Fighting: Primeape - The one Ash had was great and mine owned in Fire Red. (loved one shotting brock with Mankey too)
Fire: Moltres - Look mostly. I like Charizard but Moltres is so classy.
Ghost: Gengar - Sheer power and goofiness.
Grass: Venusaur and (of course) Ludicolo - I always take Bulbasaur as my starter for the Kanto games. And Ludicolo just rocks my socks with its typing, nice movepool and great attitude
Ground: Swampert - Fav starter from the Hoenn area and has amazing typing and sheer power.
Ice: Snorunt - Show, tooooo adorable.
Normal: Kecleon - Cuteness, awesome movepool and just making people pissed when mine beats them silly ^^
Poison: Nidoking - Huge movepool, nice look.
Psychic: Slowpoke line (I love all of em) - cuteness and great roles on the show. Also owns in combat.
Rock: Sudowoodo - Funniness in the show and look. Theme is great too.
Steel: Scizor - Look, Typing and great stats.
Water: Golduck - My first poke love from the bye bye psyduck episode.

Bug: Scyther Love how he looks, his rareness and his voice from the Anime ^^
Dark: Umbreon Just love everything about him really
Dragon: Salamence/Flygon Can't decide between the two. Salamence for power, Flygon for coolness
Electric: Manectric! My absolute fav pokemon. He's great, reasonably powerful and is just cool
Fighting: Breloom I can't stand fighting types, so I have to pick Breloom for being half plant
Fire: Charizard Always has been and always will
Flying: Honchkrow He's a corvid, what more do you need?
Ghost: Gengar The original and the most ghost-like
Grass: Sceptile Kicks butt and looks cool. I love everything about this Pokemon
Ground: Swampert Power, looks great, good typing
Ice: Lapras Always loved, like her gentleness
Normal: Miltank For weirdness, plus she's a cute little cow
Poison: Venusaur How could you not love it?
Psychic: Espeon Nice power, looks sly and cute at the same time. Win
Rock: Tyranitar I had a childhood love for dinosaurs and T-Rex was my fav. Great power
Steel: Metagross Used to hate it but now I think it rocks! Power, originality.
Water: Vaporeon Looks, always had on my team in the early days.

Bug: Ariados - It's just a hefty spider, what could go wrong?
Dark: Houndoom - Fire. Dark. Dog. Horns. Yeah.
Dragon: Kingdra - It's not a "Dragon with wings and a hefty flamethrower attack" that pretty much every other dragon is
Electric: Electabuzz - Loved it since the episode with the two gyms in the town, can't remember the name for the life of me.
Fighting: Blaziken - I was never a fan of any other fighting type really, to be honest.
Fire: Moltres - It's a flipping phoenix ;D
Flying: Swellow - Facade machine. Nuff said.
Ghost: Misdreavus - Loved it when it first came out, loved it more when it had an evolution, and loved it even more in "Without Love"
Grass: Venusaur - The original, the beast, loved him since the start.
Ground: Cubone - He kicked royal arse in MD1 when I ended up as him.
Ice: Froslass - Similar to Misdreavus but with a cold snap
Normal: Tauros - Bull, charges like a maniac. Never used him but always liked him.
Poison: Nidoking - My first ever Lvl 100 Pokemon (back in yellow ), and I love the flexibility.
Psychic: Solrock - He's a meteorite, and he floats, and he can explode.
Rock: Aerodactyl - Woo! A Rock/Flying.... really doesn't work on paper. Great design.
Steel: Magnemite - The only cute steel
Water: Crawdaunt - He's a friggin' crayfish

Bug: Heracross- This is a gen 2 favorite of mine. Always was fond of it because it always seemed sweet but powerful.
Dark:Weavile - With so many good dark types it was hard to pick a favorite. I think it looks so regal
Dragon: Flygon- Yay! A giant Dragonfly
Electric: Luxray- It's a lion ^^ and it looks really cool. It's movepool is awful but hey.
Fighting: Who am I kidding? I'm not picking one. Lucario because it learns aura sphere among other things. And then there's Gallade He has armblades! What more could you want?
Fire: Blaziken, who was my best starter in R/S/E. Arcanine is also a personal favorite of mine and Ninetales
Flying: Drifloon- Floooon! It's so cute!
Ghost: Gengar- I'm sticking with the classics here. Gengar is the greatest of the ghost types. I've loved nearly all of its anime appearances
Grass: Sceptile- it's a grass starter that's not a four legged dino! The 4th gen may have messed it up but I still like it. It's a grass dragon w00t! Meganium because I find it cute and I like it's dex entries.
Ground: Swampert- I'm not even sure what it's supposed to be, but I like it. I guess it really is a swamp thing.
Ice: Weavile, again
Normal: Porygon 2. The thing is sleek, cool, travels in cyber space and doesn't look demented like it's evo. Even though I do use Porygon-Z.
Poison: Drapion-It looks lethal....
Psychic: Gallade and Gardevoir. I've loved Gardevoir ever since it debuted and it was a staple on my 3rd gen teams. Gallade for reason's already listed.
Rock: Probopass- It got me with the mustache.
Steel: Once again lots of favorites: Lucario, Metagross, Bronzong, Probopass, Empoleon, and Magneton.
Water: Milotic-looks gorgeous.

I have many other favorites other than the ones listed. I just didn't feel like listing them all. Not to mention my opinions keep changing.

Flying: Pelliper. It helped me out alot in Emerald.
Ghost: Sableye..It kicked butt in Emerald
Grass: Sceptile, Torterra...they just rock.
Ground: Torterra...electric attacks cant hurt it. TAKE THAT VOLKNER!
Ice: Lapras. Its beauty is amazing

Poison:Croagunk even though I never use it.
Psychic:Girafirig...yes, its part Pyschic! Plus it has two heads!

Electric:raikou- calm mind+ charge beam= ownage sp.atk
Fighting:hariyama- he's cool and fat like a sumo wrestler
Fire:blaziken- i love using tis thunderpunch to surprise water types
Flying:altaria- its so fluffy i wish i had a real one!
Ghost:gengar- cuz theres barely any others
Grass:cheubi- they taste good
Ground:wooper- he's so cute and slippery *too bad he's garbage in battle*

Normal:slaking/porygon-z - awesome double team. giga impact and hyperbeam owns.

My favourite Pokemon are as thus:

Bug: Kricketune (I love the idea of a serenading Pokemon. You'd be in the garden and the song of a Kricketune will play and lull you to sleep)
Dark: Mightyena (I love dogs in general, and I love wolves more, so a dark wolf is right up there in the 'freaky-fan-girl-wheeze' category)
Dragon: Dragonair (Sometimes the oldies are the goodies. And it's one of the biggest Pokemon out there)
Electric: Mareep (It is an electric sheep. What's not to love?)
Fighting: Infernape (I generally hate fighting types, the only three I actually like are Infernape, Heracross and Lucario)
Fire: Charizard (The best fire Pokemon out there. And since there are so few decent fire Pokemon...)
Flying: Altaria (I can imagine riding on one like Goku rides on his nimbus cloud. So fun!)
Ghost: Spiritomb (A Pokemon with near invulnerability? And it was trapped for half a millennia for doing dark and mischievous deeds? Coolness)
Grass: Sceptile (It was the first Grass Pokemon I seriously trained-all the others I just got to thier final evolutions and left them to rot in the PC)
Ground: Sandslash (It saved my life soooo many times in Yellow that it became one of the only ground Pokemon I would train)
Ice: Lapras (Hnnn...I would put him as water, but that spot is already taken, so ice it is!)
Normal: Miltank (It's a COW!!! Free milk anytime. You can always have a cup of hot chocolate before bed!)
Poison: Skuntank (Mine is called 'PepeLePew'. Aww, come on! It's a SKUNK!! There has to be some street cred in that!)
Psychic: Cerebii and Mew (It's soo cute! And that's the only reason why.)
Rock: Tyranitar (Mwahahahaha! It took me AGES to find one in Crystal. Then I trained it. And it became one of my main team for pwnizering the Elite Four. Mehehehehehe.......)
Steel: Lucario (had a choice as to put him in fighting or steel. Steel won out)
Water: Suicune! (Wooo! Mah lovely, lovely Suicune. Although, I've always had a soft spot for the pure water Legendaries)

Here's mine:

Bug: Heracross. He's the only Bug-type I can say I like, since he's wickedly strong.
Dark: Umbreon. It's sleek and cool looking and its moveset is awesome.
Dragon: Garchomp. He owns, plain and simple. Not many can hit as hard as him.
Electric: Electivire. He absorbs Electric attacks to boost his speed, and is the only Electric-type to learn Earthquake.
Fighting: Lucario. Looks awesome, and his moveset is HUGE.
Fire: Ho-Oh. He looks almost like some kind of godlike phoenix, and is the coolest looking legendary in my opinion.
Flying: Staraptor. It has a mohawk...and it can learn Close Combat. What's not to like?
Ghost: Gengar. I've loved that evil grin on his face ever since R/B/Y.
Grass: Venusaur. The best of the Grass starters in my view, in terms of fighting ability. He looks menacing to boot.
Ground: Dugtrio. Duggy helped me a lot in Yellow by murdering Lt.Surge's Raichu for me.
Ice: Regice. Evil ice cube of death. He is, in my view, the strongest Ice-type in the game.
Normal: Snorlax. This massive gargantuan helped me a lot back in R/B/Y.
Poison: Weezing. Makes good use of his otherwise rubbish Poison-type by having Levitate. Plus he looks like a naval mine.
Psychic: Espeon. Coolest looking Eeveelution in my opinion, and it's stats are pretty evil too.
Rock: Bonsly. I've never been fond of the Rock-type. The only one I've ever used is Bonsly...as a throwing weapon in Brawl. Go Bonsly.
Steel: Skarmory. Big metal bird. He's sharp and pointy, and his defense is through the roof.
Water: Starmie. The Death Star itself is my favourite Pokemon alongside Lucario, for looking absolutely evil and being just as strong in battle.

Bug: Forretress. Because it's bulky. But if Drapion were still a Bug-type, I would have chosen that one.

Dark: Cacturne. Because it looks scary and because of what I hear it does to weary traveler in the desert. ;D

Dragon: Salamence. Because it's cool and I was inspired by its desire to fly.

Electric: Electivire. One of the few Electric-types that can learn Earthquake.

Fighting: Lucario. Because of its versatility. It can learn Psychic, a move not commonly associated with pokemon of the Fighting-type.

Fire: Magortar. Because I like its arms.

Flying: Staraptor. Because it looks cool.

Ghost: Gengar. Because it looks sinister with that smile.

Grass: Torterra. Because it's a giant turtle with a tree growing out of its back. It's also the starter I picked. ;D

Ground: Mamoswine. Because it's cool, big, and looks like a pig.

Ice: Abomasnow. Because it looks kinda' scary.

Normal: Snorlax. Because it's fat. It's my favorite pokemon.

Poison: Toxicroak. Because it smiles a lot, which makes it look devious.

Psychic: Gallade. Because it can learn Fighting-type moves and it's not weak to Bug- and Dark-type moves.

Rock: Rhyperior. Because it has a drill for a nose and it's big. What more is there to say?

Steel: Metagross. Because it looks cool and it's bulky.

Water: Gyarados. Because it's immune to Ground-type moves, but it can also learn Earthquake. My Gyarados knows Earthquake.

Bug: It's a tie between Vespiquen and Scizor here.
Dark: This was tough, a lot of Pokemon under the Dark category are awesome, but I think I'll go with Darkrai. You just have to love a Pokemon with abilities that complement its moveset.
Dragon: The Lati twins up here. An unusual but rather beneficial typing of sorts.
Electric: Raichu. Ampharos comes second, but Raichu will always be my fave Electric type.
Fighting: Lucario. Ignoring everyone else's opinion, Lucario is indeed dependable and has many variations an ways to train it.
Fire: Typhlosion, I've never really used Fire types outside of the Johto games, and I can say Typhlosion is probably the only Fire type I'll ever admire.
Flying: Swellow. It's easy to find and relatively easy to train, and can be ridiculously powerful.
Ghost: Banette. Although easily forgettable at times with its few perks in the metagame, I love Banette's creepy grin and rag doll appearance
Grass: Breloom and Torterra, heavy-hitting grass types, although ironically I hardly use grass moves on them save for supportive means.
Ground: Hippowdon. Sand hippos are awesome!
Ice: I rarely use Ice types, but given a choice, either a Glaceon and Froslass would be it, although its strictly for aesthetic value.
Normal: Generally, I love a lot of Normal Types, but the two who have actually seen battle under my belt are Persian and Ambipom.
Poison: Nidoking and Drapion.
Psychic: Jynx and Espeon to name a few. lol Getting tired of having to explain it.
Rock: Golem and Tyranitar
Steel: Previous Pokemon mentioned that are a dual Steel type. I generally am not a fan for this type owing to the fact that I'm not much of a defensive player.
Water: Floatzel. Nothing will beat my love for the Dolphin-Weasel-Life-raft-thing. Well save for Swampert and its past evolutions. (Yes. you herd right. I do liek them.)
