Private/Closed Alolan Pokemon Hero Tournament

Getting to the marina She saw her opponent, and said
"Hey Sarah! Ready to battle!?" Sarah said
"Nah, I'm ready to win!"
"Well, let's go then! Come on out Warm!" She threw Warm's pokeball onto the ground, and the pokemon came out.
"Leaf!" Warm said, then Sarah said
"Okay! Come on out Daisy!" As she sent out a miltank.
"Milk!" Daisy said.
"Alright, Sarah, you start."
"Thanks BB, Daisy, use rollout!"
"Miltank!" BB simply took a glance, and Warm hopped over the attack. And used Leaf blade, which made direct contact
"Leaf!"
"Mil!"
"Miltank! Are you okay?"
"Mil."
"Good. Alright, use milk drink!"
"Warm! Use energy ball to counter the healing!"
"Miltank!
"leaf!"

Shen arrived at the shady trail, sighing, and propping his leg up on a nearby tree. He looked to and fro with no sign of the ice cold trainer yet. He looked to his impish partner.

"Wonder where he is? Maybe he chickened out."

Sableye cackled at the prospect, twitching oddly looking left and right for the ice trainer

Back in Hau'oli cemetery, Ken and Wall stood still staring forward, Ken had his arms crossed. "Well, I think that takes care of it." He said as Rapidash was revealed to be covered with bugs due to infested and had purple bubbles emitting from it due to the poison from Toxic. It was barely able to hang on and was limping. "Oh no Rapidash!" Jimmy yelled as Rapidash fell. "You did good Rapidash, return. Now come out Torkoal!" A Torkoal was sent out, its ability Drought activated and the sun appeared above them. "Drought eh, well better use the most of it, Return Wall." Ken said returning his Shuckle. "Go Selkie!" Ken shouted as his Ninetales appeared. "You think you can use my Pokémon's ability to your advantage? Well it not going to work! Torkoal use Flamethrower!" Torkoal shot a stream of fire from its mouth and hit Selkie. Whenthe fire cleared, Selkie was unharmed. "My Ninetales' ability is Flash Fire, your fire move won't do anything." He said as Jimmy grunted.

Halt was standing right behind Shen on the trail. He was quite stealthy when he wants to. "Chicken out, huh. Looks like the ghosts want to be sent to their graves." Halt said, stepping out from behind. He turns back to face him. "Ready to begin?"

“Go Sting!” The battle for Ry was already beginning. HIs opponent, was the somber man, named Nathan who had sent out a Zebstrika, glared at the boy. When Ry has arrrived, it seemed like Nathan had been waiting a while. Maybe the man knew a shortcut to the battlefield. But it didn’t matter. A battle was still a battle.

“Start things off with Flame Charge!” In an instant, Zebstrika was draped in flames and leapt into the air, towards Sting. The air was already heating up, as Zebstrika closed in on Sting. But the Beedrill’s aerial mobility gave it a slight advantage.

“Dodge it with Agility!” Ry’s reaction was a bit late, but it there was still enough time for Sting to swerve out of the way of the flames.

Zebstrika continued his course, and then landed on the ground, with his hooves scraping the dirt. “I know who you are, Ry Burst. I’ve researched every competitor in this competition. I have photographic memory, making it so much easier to know all i need to know about you. You are a strong and resourceful trainer. But you are reckless, and rely too much on gut insinct. This is how I will defeat you. Now, Rain Dance!” Nathan’s voice was harsh and he sounded deaththly serious. Ry watched as clouds began to from and grow darker overhead as Zebstrika stomped his hooves against the dirt. Now rain was pouring down, in the cave, making a unique scene, especially as the rain bounced off the rock walls, and formed puddles at their feet.

“Rain won’t stop us! Go Poison Jab!” Ry shouted, raised his voice to be heard over the pitter patter over the pouring the rain. Sting was ready to use his quick speed, and his speed boost from Agility to his advantage. The Beedrill flew forward, letting the rain fall of him as he flew. One of his large cone-shaped stingers was raised, and had already began to glow with a pale purple aura. Sting continued his course, leading with the stinger pushed forward, in front of him.

“You don’t get it, do you. The Rain Dance is only the first part of my plan. Now, THUNDER!” Nathan’s plan was now unfolding. And as the large bolt of lighting flashed and threw itself towards Sting, Ry undertood it too. Normally Thunder is a move that can be avoided by a shift in movement, and it’s can’t really track down an opponent to hit it. But with the rain, and the Beedrill who was higher in the air, it would fire straight down upon the nearest thing that would get in it’s way. Sting. The lighting slammed down on the Beedrill’s back, and as it did, a clap of thunder echoed throughout the cave scaring wild Pokemon.

Sting’s body dropped like a rock, and took a hard landing upon the stone floor, which was now slic with water. “C’mon Sting! Get out of there!” Ry shouted raising his fist up and into the air. The Beedrill bega to rise, and tried to flutter his wings. But he was gaining no alititude, and staying not the ground.

“The rain is playing three parts right now. First off, ensuring me that Thunder hits. Secondly, preventing your Beedrill from flying. His wings are too wet. You might was well be flapping around wet paper towels.” The man smiled sickeningly as Zebstrika stepped forward. “Water conducts Electricity. Discharge!” Electricity shot out of Zebstrika’s hooves and leapt forward into the puddle Zebstrika stood in. The electricity spread, at an incredible rate, until reached Sting, sending shocks throughout his body. Sting’s eyes closed and the electric water had faded. Sting had fainted and Ry was already down a Pokemon.

“Okay Sting, return.” Ry said, retuning Sting to his Pokeball. He gave a large grin. “That was a sweet combo.” He glanced down at Sting’s Pokeball and said, “And thanks Sting. You’d did pretty well. It just looks like they were ready for you this time.” He looked back and Nathan and his formidable Zebstrika as Ry silently considered his next Pokemon.

After a while, both Warm and Daisy were tired out. As one last attack, they both hit each other with their fastest attacks. Lead blade clashed against rollout, however...
After the dust settled, both pokemon had fainted! Their trainers returned them to their pokeballs. Brodie said to Warm
"You did great. Miltank is a very hard pokemon to beat. Well done, my friend." She picked another pokeball, and said
"Go, Serena!" And out came Florges. Meanwhile Sarah had sent out her Beedrill. This time, Brodie moved first. She said
"I'll go first this time, Serena, use energy ball!"
"Flo!"
"Bee, counter with poison jab!"
"Bee!" This went on for a while.

Shen swerved over to the Trainer behind him, and. Gave him a sinister look.

"I thought you wouldn't show. Let's see what you've got then, if you think you can take me."

Shen readied a pokèball, and readied for Halt to throw his out as well

Halt reached to his belt, removing a small Pokeball. He expanded it and held it loosely in his hand. Halt tossed it into the air, calling out, "Frostlass, show this creep what a real ghost type is!" Frostlass emerged from the Pokeball, and floated there waiting for the opponent.

Shen: King of Digimon

Shen's pokèball was thrown, a fail air Pokemon was sent out. Another Frosslass emerged. Shen was taken aback and the convenient choices of Pokemon. He likely to be opponet's Frosslass and blinked a few times.

"Great minds think alike...huh."

Shen's Frostlass rubbed it's crystalline head like he was slicking it's non existent hair back.

"Wouldn't thought you would have one."

Halt smirked at the first choice. Not a surprise, being the types. "Let's go! Willow Wisp!" Froslass zoomed forward and launched a small ghostly fire to the opponent. The Scope Lens should help this move to hit. A burn would be an amazing setup move.

Shen: King of Digimon

"Frosslass! Counter with a toxic!"

The now burned Frosslass, her pelt becoming more slush like, tossed a purple type sludge at the other Frosslass, who had echa bed the fire projectile. Afterwards, she made a diva like head turn as she ate out of some leftovers in her pouch. Her trainer a little concerned with the burn she had gotten so early on, still had faith in the icy ghost.

Poison may damage Froslass's HP, but burn weakens attacks and lowers speed. "Shadow Ball!" Halt called, and Froslass went to work. She summoned three Shadow Balls and launched them all in a spiral pattern to the pokemon. She then got slightly hurt from poison. But not enough for worry yet.

Shen: King of Digimon

"Frostlass! Protect!"

The icy ghost put up a blue barrier, narrowly taking the shadow balls that approached. I just need to delay, the poison does more than burns do through time...especially that primary defense training we did...Frosslass got affected by the burn, but she kept eating from her pouch in free moments, trying to counteract it with her leftovers. Sableye cheered from the sidelines, cackling and booing the opponet.

Frostlass looked ahead, as the blue shield appeared before the opponent. "Taunt, then more Shadow Balls!" She first, used taunt on the opponent's Froslass and turned back with another Shadow Ball trio. She launched it forward again, but was caught slightly off aim due to the poison damage. Keep holding on Froslass. Just a little more.

Frosslass was surprised at the taunt after the protect.

"That's alright Frosslass, thunderbolt!" She revved up a thunderbolt attack, shooting a large burst of lightning toward Frosslass. Due to the defensive training, the thunderbolt wouldn't do TOO much, but perhaps enough to work with the toxic to beat her...

The shadow balls took her by suprise, attempting to protect, but she was too angry due to the taunt. She revved up another thunderbolt instead, but due to the burn she was slowed, taking the shadow balls directly and was thrown backeards a tree, fainted.

"Frosslass Return..." Shen frowned, before his grun returned. "How's that toxic holding you?"

Froslass held strong, but still weakened by the toxic. "Maybe it might take her down in a round or two, but I'd like to see that happen." Halt called across the field. One final card to play. Only one round to do it. "Show off who's next!"

Shen: King of Digimon

Shen held out another Pokeball for his belt after returning Frosslass. He threw it, revealing a plump purple ghost type Pokemon with a wide grin and red eyes.

"Go gengar!"

It seemed to stare at Frosslass like it were gazing at prey. Its's grin widened as it already prepared a blinding fast attack.

"Take priority, shadow sneak!"

Gengar seemed into the ground, popping out of Frosslass's shadow and delivering a painful super effective blow with his ghost move.

Froslass was knocked down, fainted. "Return Froslass. Good move." He said to his opponent. "Abomasnow!" Halt called out, the large pokemon landing on the field. Hail started to fall, as his ability snow warning came to effect. "Blizzard!" He screamed out, calling the move with perfect accuracy in hail.

Shen: King of Digimon

Previously Shen: King of the Mist
"Quick! Focus blast!"

Still in the early stages of the blizzard, Gengar with his faster speed darted after abonasnow's back after receiving the order from his trainer. The energy build up from his arms came together and struck the tree Pokemon with the fighting type move. Let's hope that speed along with the all out attack training pays off.

Abomasnow was budged forward some by the attack, but held up his defence. "Ingrain." Halt called out, and Abomasnow planted roots around the field, and started to heal him. "Now Blizard again!" He called out, and the large pokemon struck the ground, and launched a blizzard attack. He then ate some leftovers, restoring most of the HP lost from the focus blast.

Shen: King of Digimon

Previously Shen: King of the Mist
"Gengar! Shadow sneak to avoid it!"

Gengar did so, before the ice hit, Gengar snuck under the ice tree, strafing the Pokemon. He hoped to do nothing But avoid blizzard and do some light damage. The hail though was going to be impossible to get away from.

"Now, use shadow ball!"

Gengar lept from the shadow, lunging above abomnabsnow, taking a bit of hail. It produced two large shadow balls that swerved around the icy beast, before combin ding on top of him, radiating with powerful energy

"Ice Punch them back!"Halt called out, and Abomasnow wacked them back up. He hit the first, but the second hit him. Smoke appeared from the impact point, showing some damage. "Ice Punch Gengar if he gets close." Halt called as a warning to his pokemon.

Shen: King of Digimon

Previously Shen: King of the Mist
"Gengar, again!"

Gengar, still Under heavy hail, saw his own shadow ball come back his way, and countered it with and other pair of shadow balls. one canceling out the attack, and the other swerving around abonasnow, and hit his back, the same spot where focus blast hit. Gengar then revealed soemthing tucked away in his arm, a quick claw. It began to shine bright white for a second, increasing his movement temporarily toward the front of abonsansow, firing a focus blast at his center belly.

"Ice Shard it's face!" Halt called out, while the Gengar was coming. The priority move was sure to hit first, giving Abomasnow to heal up from the ingrain. He waved his arm, causing a series of Ice Shards to fire out to the incoming pokemon. He then ate some leftovers and was healed again by ingrain.

Gengar was caught off guard, staggering back by the sudden bombardment of ice. It became upset, noticing that it has received significant damge during the fight. His eyes struggled to stay open, but he fought it, firing a heavily charged shadow ball, plunging it toward abonsansow, snapping the ingrained roots and powering most of its energy into the overflowing shadow ball. Right at the giant.

"Come on, Ice Punch it back!"Halt called out, and the Abomasnow swung at the incoming orb. The two attacks collided, but the Ice Punch didn't completely block it. He took quite a decent bit of damage. "Keep up with the Blizzards! And back that up with Ice Shard!" Time to stop going defence, full offence.

Shen: King of Digimon

"Gengar! Do strategy: Fantina II!"

Gengar's worried and weak expression flared back with some energy, nodding back at his trainer. Gengar used shadow sneak again, shielding itself away from the attacks that threatened to defeat him. Four long black pool appeared around abonasnow, as Gengar appeared from one to the other, firing shadow balls, seeming without predictable order, like wack-a-mole. More pools began to show up, Gengar varying its strategy more, pushing itself to keep going, limiting his exposure to hail. The shadow balls came at many different angles, trying to catch the ice behemoth by suprise.

"Just keep repelling it with Ice Shard!" Halt called out. Abomasnow started to attack the shadow balls rapidly. Halt saw the entire attack phase and started to understand it. "Blizzard to the ground! Cause a storm!" The large pokemon looked down to the ground fast, still being hit by one or two attacks, but launched a Blizzard, exploding into a major storm breaking all the Shadow Balls incoming.

Shen: King of Digimon

Previously Shen: King of the Mist
All the current shadow balls were broken, but thankfully, the shadow sneak trails
We're still somewhat intact. Shen smirked.

"That's only the first part of the strategy!"

Suddenly, out of all the trails and pools of dark shadow, came a horde of gengars. All of them charging a shadow ball or a focus blast of some kind. Their red eyes and dark bodies seemed to blot out the remainder of light that was coming through the hailstorm

"Double team, my last move! How will you protect yourself when you don't know where the attack is going to come from?! Hahahaah!!" Shen said, laughing similar to Sableye.

"By using the same strategy!" Halt called back. Abomasnow slammed the ground and caused a large blizzard to hit the ground. A large snowstorm erupted from it, and Abomasnow readied to launch an Ice Shard at the remaining Gengar. Double Team only lasts until it's attacked. The cloud should break the double team.

Shen: King of Digimon

All of the copies vanished along with their false projectiles. In fact, there was not a single real Gengar amongst the entire lot. Suddenly, a pool appeared right under abnoasnow, a shadow ball encompassing him from the underbelly.

Gengar then emerged from the hole, driving the shadow ball forcefully through into the body of the ice Pokemon. Shen then wiped his brow and grinned.

"Hook, line, and sinker!"

"The fish isn't caught yet!" Halt called back. His Abomasnow was trained to withstand attacks, not so much as deal them. But he was still a good hitter. Taking the blow, Abomasnow was left with little HP. Halt saw that now that the shadow was the only was for Gengar back out. "Watch the shadow. If the Gengar comes out, Ice Punch!"

Shen: King of Digimon

Previously Shen: King of the Mist
"Thanks for the tip!" Grinned Shen. "Gengar! Adjust accordingly, scenario four of the plan!"

There was a pause, before four gengars appeared from a distance, at the outer pools, and one coming up inches from abnoasnow's face. Shen knew which Gengar was the real one, there was only a small window to attack, so the questioned remained: did they?

"Abomasnow, hold off. Wait to tell. Ice Shard if one attacks." Halt warned. He knew Abomasnow could use Ice Shard to blow up the attacks, but he was waiting for hail to come to effect. While the large pokemon waited, he ate the leftovers, restoring HP. His eyes were watching around in case he was attacked suddenly. "Also, watch the ground. In that case, Ice Punch!"

Shen: King of Digimon

Previously Shen: King of the Mist
Suddenly, the flashing was seen again, only for a split second, the Gengar right inches from abonasnow struck him right in his eyes, the quick claw in his arm allowing him to go beyond already quick Gengar speeds. The attack was then aided by all the pools in the entire arena, fusing together around Gengar, and jutting up like a giant, dark purple death spike, mimicking gengar's strike. The double teamed clone gengars vanishing.

"Strategy complete, thank you auntie." Shen said, with baited breath. "Gengar? Did you finish off the low healthed leviathan?"

Abomasnow fell back, due to the immense attack. "Return, Abomasnow." Halt said. He played through the scenario again and thought up a strategy. "Go, Mamoswine! Earthquake!" He called out, releasing a very large pokemon, who knocked down some trees while landing. He struck the ground with his first two feet and slammed the ground causing the whole area to shake.

Shen: King of Digimon

Previously Shen: King of the Mist
Gengar simply walked forward, not worrying about em the earthquake seemingly Unhurt by the earth shattering attack. It seemed more worried about the hail, which was getting his already low health even lower.

Shen seemed more uneasy about the earthquake than Gengar was, trying to get a balance back. "He has levitate, never trying getting a ghost type with a earth move! Gengar! Do a last ditch attack!"

Gengar charged up a focus blast on the big mamoth Pokemon, being a Ice ground type it sure to do a lot of damage. Gengar suddenly collapsed.

"Gengar? Gengar get up!"

When neglected the hail, which rained on the battlefield since abonasnow had been on the field, and Gengar couldn't take it. Shen sighed and withdrew him.

Knox didn’t recognise the name of the trainer he was due to battle but this didn’t put him off, the boy welcomed the idea of a fresh face to battle. Besides his Pokémon deserved a real chance to stretch after the long journey here, Sirius in particular got restless if stuck in his Pokeball for too long. Pulling out his Pokenav he swiped his finger across its screen and in one fluid motion brought up a map of the island. Seaward cave was relatively close by and of course right by the sea so at least the walk would be a pleasant one. Tucking his hands into his pockets the Trainer set off, his boots kicking up sand with every step as his Hydreigon rushed away from the girl it had been bothering to join him.

A short time later both trainer and Pokémon stood in the cool climate of Seaward cave, the sound of the ocean echoing through the rock in an eerie manner. The cold air was actually quite refreshing after the Alolan heat that had been battering the pair since they got to the island, and it had the effect of ruffling Knox’s hair around. The damp floor of the cave quickly caused water to begin seeping through his shoes but he paid it no attention, making his way deeper into the cavern in an effort to find his opponent. He thought he could hear voices whispering just a little further in…

“Garby! Be patient young man, he’ll be here soon. We wouldn’t want anybody to hear your complain…Oh. Hey there! I’m Jodi Nash, I’ll be your first opponent today!” Said the lady standing in the clearing that Knox had just entered, a rather huffy looking Garbodor standing behind her. She looked to be in her early twenties with sunkissed skin, dyed purple hair in a bun and dressed in a combination of a dark blue tank top and a pair of grey shorts that had a number of different Pokeballs hanging from the belt wrapped around them.

Knox locked eyes with her, giving her his best attempt at a friendly smile, he felt she had earned one after being so enthusiastic about their battle. It would be far too cold of him to just shrug off her greeting with his usual reaction. “A pleasure to meet you Jodi, lets say we get this show on the road then huh?” He replied, walking over to a spot in the clearing about 10 meters away from the woman.

Jodi didn’t respond but instead gave a dazzling smile and selected one of the balls on her belt, almost dropping it a few times before finally getting a proper hold on it. It would seem somebody was quite the butter fingers. “Go, Adrian!” She called out, allowing the ball to slip between her fingers as she went to through it, causing it to hit the ground and burst open to reveal an Ariados.

Knox wasted no time selecting his own Pokémon, pulling a net ball from the depths of his jacket and hurling it into the air where it opened with a flash of bright light, briefly illuminating the dimly lit cave. Where the light had been now stood Filk, Knox’s Durant.

The two bug Pokémon quickly squared up, each bristling with energy and just waiting for one of their trainers to make a move. Of course the steel type had the advantage over the poison type but the Ariados, Adrian, seemed to be raring to go regardless.

The suspenseful silence was suddenly broke by a piercing whistle from Knox, one which clearly meant something to Filk who leapt forward with surprising speed, his head hardening as he launched an iron head attack at his foe. So it came as even more of a surprise when the attack didn’t land and the ant Pokémon was left sprawling in the dirt. Where had the Ariados gone? Suddenly the spider leapt from the shadows and struck Filk from behind, leaving it scrambling to get back to its feet, blood red eyes glaring at its opponent in anger.

Shadow sneak, pretty handy for dodging attacks right?” Jodi laughed, jumping up and down with joy as her Garbodor chuckled smugly behind her.

Knox merely grunted in response, slightly annoyed that he hadn’t known that Ariados could learn shadow sneak. The Pokémon was rarely used in battle so he had never actually fought one before, typically the bug type was seen as fairly weak and so wasn’t used. As happy as he was to see that Jodi clearly didn’t care about stereotyping, it had led to this awkward moment.

Overall, Willa was pleased with the bracket results. Berry Fields was very close to the motel she was staying at, so she would probably have an opportunity to signal Fortran to return after her battle. Not only that, it was also close to a few other battle locations. Maybe she could send out a team member or two to perform some reconnaissance. The only thing that concerned Willa was the opponent she was facing, a man in a funny looking get-up named Garett. Putting it lightly, the man looked a hair short of ridiculous, with a yellow magician's top hat and a cape covered in multi-colored glitter. Because Fortran's sweep of the area was rudely interrupted, Willa had no data on the performer. She would have to brainstorm a plan on the spot. Even with his ludicrous outfit, Willa didn't dare think the battle would be easy. After all, many a plan has been foiled by underestimating the opponent. The key to staying two steps ahead is to assume your opponent already is.

Garett had already arrived at Berry Fields by the time Willa caught up, standing on the edge of a fence post. "Oho! The challenger reveals herself! Now the show may commence!" The magician twirled in the air as he jumped down from the fence post, hurling glitter from his cape to the ground below. "You face Garett the Great! Now prepare yourself for-"

"Look, glitter guy," Willa interrupted, "I would love to listen to the grand speech you probably stayed up all night writing, but if it's not too much trouble I would prefer we skip the pleasantries and get straight to the battle."

Garett looked taken aback for a moment, but then he began to chuckle. "Ah, I see! If you are so eager to taste defeat, then I shall waste no time in serving it! En garde, madamoiselle!"

“Pax, I’ll need you to hit hard and fast. Let’s go! Pax, stand by for battle!” A smile had spread across Ry’s face as the Pancham leapt of his head, and ran onto the battlefield. Rain splattered down Pax as the small Fighting Type stared ahead at the Zebstrika.

“It looks like this is your Pancham. It’s not only a strong one, but it’s often overlooked in battles, because of how small it is and the fact it’s unevolved. But you have to remember. Because of that, he has his limitations. Now, Wild Charge!” Nathan was quick to analyze Pax, as soon as he took the field. And he might even have had a plan all set for the Fighting Type. Zebstrika charged towards Pax, and electricity course through and around the Electric Type as he ran. The puddles that he stepped in, seemed to glow faintly yellow every time he stepped in one and the rain was bounced off from the surge of electricity.

“Now, Pax! Wait for him to get close!” Ry roared over the rain. His clothes were beginning to become soaked and he had a strange smile on his face that seemed to baffle Nathan. Why would this kid be smiling, when it looked like he was going to lose? Then it hit the man. Ry was known for not only his strange plans, but poor poker face and overly happy attitude. It was completely obvious that Ry had something plan. From what Nathan had read and seen about Pax, he assumed he would use an attack as a last minute counter to try to avoid the attack and use Pax’s small size in their favor.

“Boost the Electricity! Full voltage!” The electricity warping around Zebstrika began to grow and increase in size and power. But Pax and Ry both stood perfectly still. This was it, Battle Sync. Nathan had heard abut this strategy. They would move in unison. But if he watched Ry, who would be a nanosecond before Pax, he could predict movements.

“Double Team!” Ry’s shouted echoed as both him and Pax’s arms were raised to their shoulders, sticking right out. Then, clones of the Pancham formed, with them all forming a straight line, stretching out and around in a circle, surrounding Zebstrika.

Nathan was shocked. He had never seen Ry use this move with Pax. It was a choice he wasn’t expecting, and he wasn’t ready for it. But still, it was a defensive move, and hadn’t directly hurt Zebstrika. He glared at Ry, trying to watch his movement to predict a move, as rain fell around the two trainers.

“Now, Aerial Ace!” Ry was ready to deliver a powerful counterblow to avenge Sting’s defeat. Pax leapt forward and flew towards Zebstrika, while wrapped in spinning white streaks. But Nathan knew he was ready to react.
