Private/Closed Alolan Pokemon Hero Tournament

For Brodie, the battle was no longer going as well as she thought. Serena had taken multiple poison Jabs, was poisoned, while Bee had only taken a little damage.
"Serena, let's mix it up."
"Florges!" Said Serena. With a quick glance, bee was caught of guard with a moonblast.
"Bee!" Shouted Sarah in worry.
"Beedrill!!!!"
"Bee! Use Poison jab!" It connected. And Serena fell to the ground, defeated.
"Serena, return." Brodie returned the fairy type to her pokeball. She said "you did well, my friend. Its just that I didn't think about switching it up earlier..." Natalie hopped off her shoulder.
"Go for it Natalie. Show them what you've got!"
"Dun!"
"Use Flamethrower!"
"Dun!"
"Bee watch out!"
"Beedrill!" Screamed Beedrill as he was hit.

Filk endured several more lighting fast shadow sneak attacks as he tried frantically to land an iron head attack on his foe, unable to catch the illusive Ariados. Usually the Durant relied on his raw power and speed to land heavy blows on his opponents but Jodi seemed to have caught on to that as the next thing she called out was “Adrian use sticky web!”

Her Ariados responded by leaping on to the ceiling amongst the stalagmites, hanging upside down from one of its silk like some kind of grotesque chandelier before it spurted out a thick coating of webbing that caked the cave floor in seconds. Filk became tangled in it straight away, his six legs pulling desperately at the strong adhesion effect of the silk.

Knox grimaced as Jodi smirked, things were going from bad to worse for his Durant. Now without practically without mobility his already failing tactic was complete useless. He was yet to even land a blow on this bloody Ariados! Filk looked even more irritated, struggling with honest rage against the trap he had found himself in. His trainer whistled softy and suddenly the fighting stopped and Filk locked eyes with Knox. It was time to try something else.

As the Ariados leapt down from the ceiling again, this time the horn on its head glowing with some sort of power, Filk stamped both his front feet against the ground which caused a huge shard of stone to suddenly jut from the ground, catching the spider Pokémon on its underside and shooting it back into the ceiling of the cave where it vanished in a cloud of rubble.

Sticking to his normal surly nature Knox decided against saying anything about how successful that last move was, although admittedly he did feel the rush of adrenaline that came with an exciting battle. It turned out however that he was right not to have said anything as seconds later a pulse of fire imbued energy came bursting from the dust cloud on the ceiling, racing towards his immobile Pokémon who barely had time to widen his blood red eyes before the hidden power fire knocked Filk straight out, leaving him lying there with faint wisps of smoke coming from his metal hide.

“Hidden power fire. Clever.” Knox begrudgingly admitted, shaking his head gently as he returned Filk to his net ball. The little ant had done his best but sadly they had been outwitted and outmatched by Jodi who clearly had more tricks up her sleeve than he had first thought. He would have to step up his game.

Don’t be so hard on yourself Knox, me and Adrian have been practicing for years!” Jodi called out, striking a pose that left one hand on her hip and the other pointing at Knox. Her tone of voice was so cheerful that it was clear she didn’t have a mean bone in her body.

“I can tell.” Came Knox’s surly reply, a full on compliment by his standards. It was very, very rare to hear the young man say anything during battle but this girl was so chatty and optimistic that he found himself feeling compelled to engage her in conversation. As he spoke he revealed another pokeball, a timer ball this time. This time it was Vitus, his Heatmor that stepped out of the blinding light, smoke already leaking from his tail. He seemed a little confused to find himself standing in the sticky webbing that covered the cave floor, tugging his feet at it gently, testing its strength. He glanced at Knox, looking for a signal from his trainer that would confirm what he had to do. Knox tugged on one end of his scarf, an involuntary thing, letting out a sharp whistle to let Vitus know what his next move should be. The Heatmor glowed orange like an ember for a moment before he was engulfed in a spinning red flame, a fire spin attack that spread across the silken strands in seconds, burning them away.

Halt stood their, and rolled his eyes. "Hail mean anything to you? Hurts everything but ice types?" He called over. Mamoswine stood before him, observing the damage done to the field, all the tree's fallen. He's gonna get something with levitate.

Gengar was sent back and his Pokeball exchanged for a new one.

"Go Golurk!"

Out of the new Pokeball came a new Pokemon, a giant guardian machine. It made a large low deep resonating cry as it prepared for battle.

"Use fire punch!"

Golurk sweeped toward mamoswine, his fist glowing red with flames, the hail turning to team touching the coded fist. Go lurk then delivered the blow

Mamoswine took the blow, accepting a little damage. Fire isn't super effective. Let's let him wonder. "Now, return with a Hail and Blizzard!" Halt commanded. The large pokemon slammed the ground, and a hailstorm appeared above them. He then looked to the Golurk and blasted a blizzard in his direction. The mamoswine's expert belt would boost the supereffective move.

Gours took the hit, his large mass accepting the super effective toll on him. His assault best holding steady. Golurk isn't my pride and joy, he was meant to be a tank, I wonder how much he can take?

"
Recover from it! Drain punch!"

The golurk's fist glew a shining brown color, the punch hitting super effectively against the mammoth. His armor starting to rejuvenate as his lunch landed super effectively, more than usually health recovering

Halt watched as the blow hit his pokemon. Mamoswine can take many more of those. But he can't keep healing like that. "Keep firing the Blizzards!" Mamoswine proceded to attack using a sweeping motion, leaving snow and ice on the ground. Mamoswine watched as the hail fell. Now, the Golurk should take hail damage as well. He can't out heal that, and my trump card is gonna make sure of that.

"Golurk! Formation Fantina IV!"

The golurk stopped in his tracks. His arms and legs gliding into his body, flames coming out of it. He then started to sky rocketed into the air, up into the clouds. Golurk then stopped up there and plummeted down, his fist glowing orange and jetted toward mamoswine with incredible force with the momentum of jetting all the way up into the clouds, a huge crater forming around the impact, clouds of dust and debree rising

AHEM.
Reminder that while you can have your Pokemon use an attack while fighting another person's character, it is not up to you to determine whether the attack landed. It's up to the other person - unless you've talked to the other person in advance and received their permission (in which case, do note this as an OOC comment within the post.)

Forcing hits is autoing, and autoing is expressly forbidden by our rules.

It was time to bring this battle around. Now thanks to Filk’s noble efforts Knox had the Ariados’ technique all figured out and had a plan to counter it. He whistled sharply to which Vitus responded with a powerful fire lash attack, his flame imbued tongue lashing out at the spider Pokemon like a whip. Even the speed of a whip wasn’t enough to hit the evasive foe though and as Knox expected it vanished into the shadows. Excellent.

Vitus’ eyes flicked back and forth suspiciously, searching for any sign of an attack. It could come from anywhere after all. The ceiling, one of the pools of water, that rock over there…wait…there! The Ariados shot from the darkness like a bullet, headed straight for Vitus of course. Luckily for Knox and his team this time he was prepared. One whistle later and Adrian the Ariados lay on his back, all legs whirling in the air uselessly. At the last second Vitus had pulled of a wicked sucker punch attack, catching his opponent under the chin with such force it was flipped on to its back. There was no time to enjoy this small victory though, it wasn’t over yet. Knox whistled sharply again and his Heatmor’s red hot tongue lashed out again, this time wrapping around Adrian’s neck. Vitus pushed his feet into the ground, bracing himself before whipping around and hurling his foe into the cave wall.

“Adrian!” Jodi called out in horror as she watched her Pokémon fall from where it had landed, clearly fainted. She stamped her foot in frustration as she returned it to its pokeball, puffing air out from between her lips in a drawn out manner. Knox simply walked over to Vitus and gave the fire type a fist bump before returning to his place on the other side of the field, gesturing to Jodi to indicate she should send out her next Pokémon.

Another flash of light and the next opponent was revealed. A gelatinous purple blob with 2 long yellow whiskers sprouting from either side of its mouth. The poison type announced itself with a very drawn out “Swaloooooooooooot”. Another fairly under used monster. At least this time Knox was familiar with it.

Wasting no time to launch an attack Jodi called out to her Pokémon across the battlefield, commanding her Swalot to use sludge bomb. Its huge maw opened, a black chasm in the dim light, and out shot several toxic projectiles which whizzed towards Vitus, about half of them making their mark. The Heatmor was knocked a step back, eyes shut as it braced itself for the impact. Knox frowned. Something had gone wrong there, Vitus had shuddered after the attack….of course, he had been poisoned!

At least this time they had the speed advantage, Swalot wasn’t exactly what you would call nimble. Knox whistled for a fire blast, reasoning that it would be easy enough to land on such a big target. And he was right. Vitus reared its head back, flame billowing from his mouth as he charged up the attack before letting loose, sending the fire pointed fire attack straight into the Swalot. It collided heavily but the goo Pokemon barely budged, instead it held its ground until the fire sizzled out. Jodi smirked, clearly proud of how well her Swalot had tanked the attack. Knox wasn’t very perturbed, a hit was a hit at the end of the day.

“Discharge! Knock them away!” Nathan had waited for Pax to get close to Zebstrika before calling this attack. That way, the surge of electricity would clear out Pax, but still required a close enough range to ensure it would do an effective amount of damage. The Thunderbolt Pokemon stomped his feet as Pax grew close, and electricity jetted out of Zebstrika’s sides, surrounding him in a circular shape. Then it fired around hurling itself towards Pax.

“Spin in a spiral! Break through it!” Ry was feeling the flow of this battle. Not to mention, that hopefully, he could turn things around quickly. All the Panchams, copies and the real one, began to spin at they rammed into the Discharge’s wave of electricity. Then, while most seemed to fade away from the shock, one made his way through it, and soared straight towards Zebstrika.

“Time to let ‘em have it! Brick Break!” Pax swung his body in a somersault and slammed his hand down giving the Zebstrika a swift chop to the back. The force of the attack caused the Thunderbolt Pokemon to lose it’s footwork and collapse under it’s own weight. As he fainted, the rain began to slow down. It was beginning to stop.

“Fine, you’ve seemed to overpower one of my Pokemon with your famous brute strength. But get ready fro this!” Nathan was quick to exchange his Pokemon. But his choice surprised Ry. He returned Zebstrika to send out an Ursaring. With this guy’s talk about knowing all about him, did he forget that Ry specialized in Fighting Type Pokemon. An Ursaring’s only weakness.

Garett tossed his hat into the air and caught it upside-down by the brim, giving a graceful bow as he did so. In a fluid motion, he reached into the hat and pulled out a pokeball, tossing it into the middle of the field. "For our first act, Garett the Great will be joined by Marcel the Magnificent! Center stage, my friend!" A flashing light burst forth from the pokeball, and a Mr. Mime materialized on the battlefield. The clownish Pokemon kept a wide smile on its face, its hands raised to the sides of its head and seemingly pressing against an invisible wall.

"Hmm, a psychic type." Typical, thought Willa. The eccentric man seemed to fancy himself a magician, so of course his team would mostly contain psychic type Pokemon. Unfortunately for Garett, Willa had several options for dealing with his beloved partner. Willa dug into a pocket on the inside of her coat, pulling out a pokeball and tossing it in the air. "Ruby, standby!" In another flash of light, a short yet hulking Pokemon appeared before Willa, the monster's single red eye sending a piercing gaze across the battlefield. Since Willa knew nothing of the opposing Mr. Mime beyond its typing, she decided to test the waters before diving into the battle. "Ruby, stand your ground and let the enemy come to you." The Dusclops dug her heels into the ground and held her enormous hands in front of her body, ready to block incoming attacks.

"If you won't start the show, then we will! Marcel, Bouclier!" Willa noticed the language that Garett used issue commands from her travels in Kalos. As luck would have it though, Willa never took the time to learn Kalosian beyond the most basic phrases. She would have to rely on visual cues alone for this battle. Meanwhile, Marcel had formed a clear, circular wall in front of him. It wasn't clear exactly what move it was, but Willa could at least identify it as a defensive move. "Tres bien, Marcel! Now show us your Alolan flair with Choc Mental!" Suddenly, Marcel's eyes began to glow a bright blue color as he held out his hands toward Ruby. A psychic attack!

"Ruby, brace for impact!" The ghost Pokemon followed through, steeling its will to defend against the mental assault. But the attack never came. Instead, Marcel was using its psychic power on its own barrier, turning the wall on its side while keeping it afloat in midair. Eyes still aglow, Marcel hopped on top of the barrier, and positioned himself in a sideways stance, as if he were standing on a surfboard. Wait...that's exactly what it was!

"Marcel, full speed ahead!" While riding the barrier, Marcel propelled himself forward at blistering speed. The mime Pokemon was using the wall as a hover board!

"Ruby, knock him off with Shadow Punch!" The Dusclops tried to throw out an attack, but failed to beat her opponent's speed. Marcel rammed his hover board into Ruby's body while tilting the board upwards, ascending into the sky after the impact. While Marcel continued flying in the air, Ruby was knocked back from the collision, barely managing to remain on her feet. All the while Garett gazed up at his partner, clapping his hands in applause.

"Bravo, Marcel! Bravo!" Garett broke his gaze from the flying mime, and turned it to face Willa. "Oho! Apologies, madamoiselle, but the opening act is critical to any performance! Now stand back, and be amazed by our Spectacular Psycho-Surf!"

Slime based Pokémon were always tricky foes, practically immune to physical attacks and very resistant to everything else. It was all due to the fact they could just ride out the momentum of a blow thanks to the stretching properties of their bodies. There was one easy enough way to knock them out though, it was just risky business that could, if handled incorrectly, led to your own Pokémon’s demise.

Through a series of whistles Knox commanded Vitus to get as close as possible to the Swalot, trying to ignore the nagging thought in the back of his head that was telling him that he was making a mistake. Vitus broke into a sprint, actually falling to all fours to increase his speed. The poison type loomed ahead, looking a lot larger than it had from a distance.

In an almost pathetic attempt at an attack the anteater swung a sucker punch, its clawed hand sinking into the jelly like body of his foe. The Swalot seemed completely unperturbed and simply looked down at him with those blank and beady little eyes. That was before its mouth expanded to the size of a doorway and swallowed the fire type down to his legs.

“Go Gurt, go!” Jodi squealed in delight, jumping up and down on the spot. Gurt, the Swalot, attempted a smile but due to the mouthful of Heatmor it was rather grotesque. Still it was clear he was rather happy, his little moustache twitching with joy. That was until smoke started leaking from the corners of his mouth. Knox smirked maliciously as his Heatmor began to glow a dazzling red, that overheat attack must be doing some insane damage inside that huge maw. Seconds later Gurt’s eyes rolled back and he collapsed, leaving a new spit covered Vitus to crawl out of his mouth and shake himself off in disgust.

Mamoswine looked up at the fast coming pokemon. Lets play their game then. "Mamoswine, Defense Pattern Omega. Sky Mode!" Mamoswine quickly braced for impact, and a blue barrier appeared around him. When the Golurk hit, the protect made the attack do no damage. Hail continued to fall, dealing damage to all non-ice types. The large pokemon looked at the Golurk, and blasted a Blizzard at it.

Golurk, suprised at the sudden barrier, flew back and swerved circles around the mamoswine, trying to avoid he blizzard that would come from it.

"This is a kink in the plan...erg! Fine! Use the guardian initiative!"

The flying golurk raced back up into the air, and started to rotate on its axis like a spinning top, it's arms outstretched swinging with orange energies. The spinning Wild golurk rapidly swung like a pendelum to the awaiting mamoswine with incredible speed.

Halt watched as the attack unfolded. It was basically the exact same thing. So the same defense plan would work, but why do the same thing? "Defence pattern Alpha!" Mamoswine looked up again, and fired a blizzard at the spinning Golurk. The fact that it spins makes it easier to dodge things. But it's slower now. Mamoswine then lept to one side to another, with each jump another Mamoswine took it's place. The double team had created 42 mamoswine from one Mamoswine. They all looked to the Golurk again, and fired a blizzard at it again.

Shen: King of Digimon

He doesn't know the beauty of the tactic, now to swing into action!

"Golurk! Now!"

The jets of golurk all faced the back of golurk, sending it spinning wildly into the double waned mamoswine a and away from the center fold where the blizzards were hitting. While he was safe from the blizzards do to his speed, he kept the momentum swinging at all the mamoswins in a big line, making its way to the real one. The golurk when breaking through the copies, unfolded into his legs and arms were fully unfolded again, lunging at the now open mammoth.

"Use the combo breaker!" Shen yelled, mimicking the movements of the giant Pokemon. "Drain punch! Ice punch! Fire punch!"

The large Pokemon's fist glew multicolor and swung, as his other fists swung like a top, continuously attacking the Pokemon with the repeated constant attacks that refused to let up from the hulking bot

The final double broke while the combo breaker hit it. The original mamoswine was in the snow covered by the excessive use of Blizzard. "Attack sequence Ultra!" Halt called out, and the Mamoswine lept into the air out from the snow. He used double team in the air, so when they landed, there were 30 Mamoswine surrounding the Golurk. "Now!" Each and every one of the mamoswine fired off a blizzard, at an angle that no matter where the Golurk moved, it would be hit. Even If it flew, there was one aiming up to hit it.

Shen: King of Digimon

Previously Shen: King of the Mist
Golurk, seeing this strategy take place, aimed its rapid attack combo break toward the hiring, the very ground breaking up and being flying up. He made himself a huge crater into the ground, and dug even lower than that, the sheer amount of ground between him and the blizzard sheltered him from the powerful forces outside. Soon, something struck from the ground, destroying a copy. Then another fell, and another, and another. Golurk's whereabouts were still unknown as the copies continued to drop.

"Mamoswine, ground attack delta!" Halt called out, knowing the Golurk had to be on or in the ground to attack like that. It would have left some sort of a trail. Mamoswine then used Earthquake, making the ground around them shake, dealing damage to the ground and all pokemon around it. To prepare for a counter, a double team was done, and a protect to keep the real mamoswine safe if it was found.

Shen: King of Digimon

Previously Shen: King of the Mist
"Ngh!" Shen exclaimed, forgetting about the move earthquake, hoping the way the golurk tank was built that it was capable of taking the hit. "That was good, but I'm not going to make this go to waste! Enact the plan now!"

Golurk, heavily damaged from earthquake I acted his plan, using his own earthquake. The tunneling he did underground broke apart the ground above, hitting everything on the surface, even Shen was sent down lower into the ground through the aftershocks toward him. The entire ground collapsed down to golurk's level, all of the double teams dispersed and debree flying everywhere, golurk flying out after he did so, the entire ground was grounded up into fragments that scattered the once clean trail.

"Don't let up! Keep doing it!"

Golurk flew down into the ground once more, with momentum, causing an earthquake again, on the dispersed debree. He held the earthquake and kept hitting, and wasn't looking like it was going to let up. All its jet faced upward, forcing t to face down and continue the massive tremors

As the protect fell, Halt saw that the Golurk was quite hurt. "It won't be long now!" He called out to the mamoswine. "Use earthquake also! Make your own area!" Mamoswine hit the ground with an earthquake, causing the ground under his feet to toss him up out of the hole. Mamoswine landed on his feet, overlooking the hole. "That works to. Blizzard!" Mamoswine fired off a blizzard to the Golurk. Hail hit mamoswine's body, but did no damage for it is an ice type.

Shen: King of Digimon

Previously Shen: King of the Mist
The injured golurk saw the harmful blast head his way, so he increased the yeild of his earthquake in one specific area, a field of rock from the ground erupting across the battlefield, eating up the earthquake.

"Don't allow him to get the upper hand on you or we are finished! Break down his cover then use the constricted tactic!"

Golurk them went up to mamoswines small area of ground that was intact, and sweeped under it with a strong punch, breaking the dirt bar, sinking his two fists into the ground on the two sides of mamoswine, so close that he was glaring inches away from his opponet's eyes.

"Point blank earthquake! Maximum yield!"

The giant guardian them unleashes a massive earthwuake right in the epicenter of the mamowsine's position, his arms in both sides of the what's so it couldn't get away.

"Your strong to earthquakes! Blizzard point blank!" Halt commanded, and Mamoswine blasted off the attack to the Golurk. When the ground shifted, mamoswine kept the blizzard going, taking normal damage from the earthquake. The blizzard being x2 effective, an expert belt, and hail should kill it. All Mamoswine had to do is survive. And being how it has taken little damage so far, that won't be hard for him.

Shen: King of Digimon

Previously Shen: King of the Mist
Golurk saw the blizzard rev up, so golurk stomped down on the ground, the ground in front of mamoswine collapsing, so the ground in front of the mamoswine made the ground sink below it's front paws. This was a temporary solution, as he was hit glancingly by the blizzard. It release a low echoing groan of pain, nearing near the end of it's health. It's joints rotated as well as his body, maneuvering his body behind the creature.

He struggled with it, now trying to starfleet it from behind almost like a wrestler move. It continued to earthquake the beast, it's front hands adjusting to be around the beast's shoulders, keeping it from turning around as well as locked in place.

How much can this thing take? In fact, how much can golurk take?! This is getting close... At least it seems golurk has the mamoswine Intrapped, it doesn't look like the most flexible beast

"You don't need motion, all you need it a trunk! Attack Pattern Matcho Trunk!" Mamoswine slammed down with his own trunk, causing an Earthquake around him. Then, looking forward to the Golurk holding him, he shot off another Blizzard to the pokemon. The hail was calming down, so Mamoswine took initiative, and used hail again.

Shen: King of Digimon

Previously Shen: King of the Mist
The Golurk made a winding sound, going deeper and deeper, trying to hold on, but slowly, it's join began to seize up and it's lights were flickering. It then collapsed completely on top of the mammoth, it's heavy weight being fully pressed onto it. Shen shook his head.

"...is that it? Golurk? Golurk you there?"

Mamoswine raised it's trunk in the air, to show it was still up. It was slightly bruised from the fall, but still movable. "Hey, is Golurk alright?" Halt called over, walking over to the two pokemon. "I cannot tell."

"Sableye, go check."

The Sableye hopped
Down from behind a peice of debree and hopped over to the behemoth that was layed out on the ground. Sableye tapped it with his foot, and the banged against it with his fist. His then jumped up and down, stomping on the guardian. Sableye shrugged to his trainer, who sighed.

"Golurk come back..."

He took out his pokèball and called back his giant Pokemon. He whipped a hair strand back and looked away.

"Can't believe I lost to the likes of you."

"Close battle. You had good strategy." Halt said, walking over. "Good job Mamoswine." He said as he returned him to his ball. Halt stepped up. "You would make a good gym leader, Shen." He said, putting out a hand for a handshake.

Shen flashed his iconic grin at the trainer as he took the hand.

"Shame I don't have a gym badge to give you. But don't be surprised if someone in the tournament line up 'dissapears' heh."

After the handshake, Sableye jumped to shake halta hand very rapidly nodding his head up and down

Halt shook his head slowly. "I beat you once, and I can do it again." He said, releasing the Sableye's hand. "Does he always do that?" Halt askes, pointing to the pokemon who just shook his hand.

"He...uh..he just kind does whatever."

Sableye cackled as a response. Releasing the hand of the victor. He then grinned before Shen spoke up again.

"Don't. Sableye don't steal anything from him this time ok?"

Sableye laughed again, returning back to his trainer's side. When shook his head and turned back to the trainer.

"I'd like to see your further battles, since you were strong enough to take me down.
mind if we tag along?"

"I wouldn't mind, though I think were heading back to the town." Halt said to Shen. Glaceon turned with him, and walked behind. "You know what? We should battle again sometime." Halt called back. "After you fix your blind points, and maybe get moves that break protects."

"Do I look like a dancer?" Shen joked. "I don't do Z-moves. But Megas are a different story."

Shen walked alongside Halt, Sableye seeming not to mind losing as much as Shen thought he might.

"But I wouldn't mind battling, I have 3 other Pokemon you didn't fight, same with you."

"Sure, but we are fighting on a mountain. Not another lousy forest." Halt said, making it to a clearing in the woods, opening to Iki town. "Now, we wait for the results. They probably were watching us."

Shen: King of Digimon

"Ehh? Watching us? I didn't see any cameras, nor dragonites with cameras. Not this time at least..."

Sableye tapped his trainer and pointed to his crystal like eyes and nodded.

"What? You saw some? Oh yeah, your keen eye. I wonder who they crowd thought was the best?" Shen said with a semi egotistical tone, putting a hand on his chin and his eyes.

“Hammer Arm!” Again, Nathan was quick to make a move. Ry assumed he was putting one of his so called strategies into action. Ursaring was ready to use his speed to his advantage, mixed with powerful raw strength. His arms became cloaked in white energy as they were raised in the air. Then he slammed them forcefully into the ground causing the ground to crack and splinter in different directions. As a large rift in the ground rushed towards Pax, causing him to loose balance and trip. Then in that instance, Ursaring had covered the distance between him and the small Panda like Pokemon.

“Pax!” Ry’s cry was cut off, by a thumping noise as Ursaring, slammed one of his arms into Pax’s stomach and sent him flying into the air. “Go with a Stone Edge!” Pax while disoriented, was able to fire his attack after a few seconds to get his balance amoung the crazy spins. Pointed stones floated around him, before firing out and rushing towards the Hibernator Pokemon.

“Really. This old trick. Trying to uncover a blind spot. Hyper Beam arc!” Nathan was throughly enjoying his plans work. After the last loss on his part, he was throughly upset. So he was ready to deal some heavy damage and win this battle. A ball of bright orange energy formed in Ursaring’s mouth and it became a beam of orange light. Ursaring twisted his head while facing up, destroying shards of rocks. Then the weaker traces of the beam, rushed towards Pax.

“Aerial Ace!” Ry knew that Nathan had expected something like this, but of course, you can’t beat the classics. Pax couldn’t help but grin as Ry made this call. He became draped in white streaks as he rushed around the remains of the Hyper Beam, navigating it all like a pro, and keeping himself airborne. “Now, let ‘em haveit!” Ry’s voice was full of happiness as he made the order. After all, this was him in his element. On the battlefield. Pax charged down, and swept himself under Ursaring’s arms and slammed himself into the ring on Ursaring’s chest.

As the bear like Pokemon began to stumble back, Nathan gave his next command. “Slash!” Ursaring slammed one of his sharp claws down, smacking Pax to the ground. The Pancham tumbled and rolled along the ripped apart rock.

The final member of Jodi’s team to battle was actually the first one she had revealed. Garby, the Garbodor. The hulking mass of garbage and toxic waste shambled out from behind his highly trainer who, despite the defeat of another member of her team, was beaming a dazzling smile that was visible even in the dim light of the cave.

Garbodor!” He roared, bits of trash splattering the closest walls.

Sludge bomb Garby, let’s show them what we’ve got!” Jodi ordered, striking an odd pose in which she pointed at Vitus with one hand and stuck the other on her hip. The trash heap Pokémon aimed his right hand at its target and let fly with a volley of toxic sludge that hit with deadly precision, crashing into the weakened fire anteater and forcing him back a few steps. Vitus winced in pain, smoke venting from his tail. He got back into a fighting position but something was clearly wrong, he was shuddering and a pained expression remained on his face.

Knox had to convince himself that his friend could keep fighting on regardless of those injuries, Vitus was a tough cookie at the end of the day. He would want to go out fighting, not just give up before he had to. So whistling once more he instructed for a shadow claw attack, glad to see that the long black claws extending from Vitus’ own looked as strong as always. The Heatmor ran at his opponent at a decent pace, but not fast enough to stop Garby from nailing him with another sludge bomb attack. Smoke billowed from the point of impact, purple smoke with a horrible smell to it. For a moment it seemed as if Vitus had been defeated but then out of the fumes he camel, sliding past Garby as he raked his side with the shadow claw attack. The Garbodor bellowed in pain as Vitus slid to a halt behind him, a proud look on his face. But then disaster struck. The poison that had been afflicted by the first sludge bomb claimed the fire type and he fell face first into the dust.

“Thanks Vitus.” Knox said softly to his fainted friend before returning him to his ball and pulling out another one, ready to finish this battle.

“Hyper Beam!” Ursaring unclamped his jaws, and fired a powerful beam of orange energy that slammed into Pax, sending him flying into the cave wall. He was unable to continue.

“Return Pax. You did a good job.” Ry said returning the Pancham to his Pokeball, with a faint smile. Nathan sure was a strong competitor. He had wiped out Pax, quite quickly, only taking one attack. Then of course, he used his power to his advantage. “It’s time for my strongest! Let’s rock! Go Fuego!” Ry tossed the Infernape’s Pokeball in an arc, sending out the Fire and Fighting type Pokemon.

“Here we are. You’re strongest Pokemon and your partner. Fuego has been with you for a while, and you’ve trained with him for a good while. What is it, over seven years? Anyways, it’s time i win this battle. Ursaring, Hammer Arm!” Nathan seemed to be ready for Fuego, which sent butterflies in the pit of Ry’s stomach. Ursaring charged at Fuego with both arms draped in that familiar white light.

“Okay Fuego! Double Thunder Punch!” Both of the Fire Monkey’s fists became engulfed in yellow crackling energy. He ran towards Ursaring with his fists at ready. He swung sharply for a right hook, and was quickly blocked by a parry from Ursaring’s adjacent arm. Then going for a counter attack, Ursaring brought both his fists down towards the base of Fuego’s skull. But Fuego was ready to use his speed and brought up his fists to block the attack. The energies scraped against one another sending sparks in various directions.

“Turn up the power! Thrash!” Ursaring was quick to go nuts with his strength, delivering a powerful kick to Fuego’s chest, knocking him back. Then he smacked the Fire Monkey to the left, and then to right, before Fuego could recover. Then he swung his leg and deserved a roundhouse kick that sent Fuego flying.

“Acrobatics!” Ry was ready for this, with a new move that Fuego had learned during his training. He leapt of a cave wall and flipped high into the air. He jabbed his foot into Ursaring’s stomach and twirled around to the bear like Pokemon’s back, before he could get hit. Then he slammed his heels into Ursaring’s back, causing him to tumble forward.

The Hibernator Pokemon crashed face first into the broken ground, while Fuego leapt back. Fuego waited as the Ursaring began to stand. He was waiting and giving a chance for Ursaring to recover. It was only fair.

“Ursaring! Get up and hit him with a Double Edge!” Ursaring forced himself to stand and faced Fuego, with a harsh grin across his face. Then he charged, with a speed that Ry had yet to see the Ursaring reach. He clipped Fuego’s side in a full body tackle. As Fuego began to fall, Ry was ready to make his move.

“Close Combat!” Fuego leaned back, and caught himself with his long tail. Then he used his hands to support himself, putting them behind his head, and swung two powerful kicks at Ursaring’s chest. Then he leapt up in a front flip, and let loose a flurry of punches, kicks and jabs that slammed against Usraring’s chest. Ursaring fell on his back, unable to battle.

“Return Ursaring. Now it’s it’s time. Druddigon! Dragon Tail!” Nathan was quick to switch out his Pokemon and declare an attack. As soon as the ball was thrown, a large blue draconian Pokemon lundged from it. Its tail was covered in light green scales of energy that extended outwards. This was his Dragon Tail attack.
