Click the "Preferences" button in your user menu. It's at the bottom. (This is if you want to change the sprite on your user button in the top. @KoL tells you how to change your big picture below.)

Top-right of the screen, cursor over your name. Select "Avatar" from the menu that appears, then follow the instructions on-screen.
