A large company by the name of GenTech has been kidnapping children ages 16-7 to test a hidden bioweapon, capable of turning a human into a random Pokemon depending on what is was made with. They've kidnapped five children to test how they would perform with a small dose of the injection and placed on an island in the middle of nowhere, and see if they would get along, perform, and survive. And depending on their success with the injection, they might collect more children to test larger and more powerful doses.
TLDR: An Evil company is kidnapping and dosing children with an injection that causes them to slowly morph into a Pokemon, and they've placed them on an island to see how they'd perform with their slowly morphing minds and bodies.
