I was expecting Arcanine to be higher on your list but you pretty much explained yourself. I recently trained one on FR that turned out really good. Kinda wish I'd gotten Flash Fire instead of Intimidate, though...
Arcanine's the type of Pokemon I'd love to have in real life. No flames sprouting anywhere to burn myself or the house down, big enough to ride, and it's a freakin' dog! Doesn't get any better than that (except for the lack of wings) ^^
