Gwenerys

"How...inelegant..."

Muttering to herself as she withdrew, Gwenerys noted the brutish way everyone seemed to engage in combat, most notably Parker and the almost frustrating ease with which he dealt with the blow darts. Dropping the dart pipe, or more aptly, leaving it suspended in mid-air, she reached for her bow and grabbed an arrow from her quiver. While the arrowheads had rounded to prevent any excessive hard to the students, they were still made of rock and the blunt impact alone would've been quite painful. More importantly, however, the stone arrowhead wouldn't be as easily burnt as the darts.

The girl took aim, intending to beat the fire manipulator 'battered & bruised' when suddenly a newcomer decided that literally bringing down the roof would be an excellent plan. Pupil constricting in sheer shock and horror, the girl dropped her weapons and grabbed onto the quiver of arrows on her back, opting to swing the quiver in a wide arc, splashing arrows into the air. Tens of the thin sticks flew wildly under the girl's control forming a wooden barricade in the air at an angle to deflect the shower of pebbles. A series of cracks ran out as the arrow shafts snapped in rapid succession under the impact of the falling debris.

Covering her head with her hands Gwenerys did what every reasonable person would do and made a dash for the finish line. With all her arrows broken and her darts at...less than optimal effectiveness, she would be a non-factor in this battle. However, she did take the opportunity to flick the shattered and splintered remains of her arrows at Diachi in a petty attempt at getting back at him.

Daisuke had a smug grin on his face as his debris seemed to cause his target to flee, however that grin evaporated as arrows had been shot his direction. A retaliation shot if you will, as Daisuke cursed as he prepared to unleash some chains in retaliation though knew he would not have been able to stop all of them as he prepared for the worst.

Chomp!

However, Asami jumped in front of the arrows and used her razor sharp teeth to bite into them in mid air as the teeth sliced clean through them as she focused on the arrows that were immediately in the path of Daisuke as she allowed the others ones that just were off direct contact to pass through. Asami turned to Daisuke, who seemed suprised for a moment before he shook his head and saw his opponent as she fled for the finish line.

Oh no you don't!

"Get back here! If you want a fight let's finish it!" Daisuke yelled out as he charged after Gwenerys with some chains extended from his arms as he followed her to the finish line. Asami let out a sigh as she chased after the pair hoping to get between them before Daisuke would do something stupid.

...again.

What happened next was a bit of a blur to Aspen. A mess of spears and powder and darts, just an overwhelming plethora of shit to deal with. Admittedly, the girl flinched as the darts were fired at her and her temporary partner, stepping closer to him to take advantage of his shield in order to provide herself protection.
This brief moment of safety didn’t seem to last long, however, as Parker charged for the finish line, followed shortly by Tiki #1.
Ouch, betrayal much?
Remembering what was on the line, she sprinted forward as well, summoning a little ball of white light in her palms and shooting it forward as a blinding beam to get their attention.
“You imbeciles are going to get yourselves disqualified! Stop being petty and focus on what’s important!” She spat, pushing herself to run faster to reach the line. She skidded to a stop as she barreled past it, catching her balance on a nearby wall. Her chest was heaving, her hair wild, and the girl made a mental note to get more in shape. She regained her composure, standing up to shoot her former potential friend a harsh, multi-colored glare.
“Thanks for ditching me,” she grumbled, crossing her arms. “Shoulda just left you in that mirror maze..”
She sighed briefly, directing her attention back to the situation unfolding before her, curious to see if the pair had taken her advice (which had seemed like more of a violent suggestion).

"Uh...um..." It had all happened a bit fast. From following to objectives to suddenly erupting in PvP, the events were too fast and too many for the gamer to focus on. Instead of trying, the next logical conclusion would be to focus on the smaller scale. Sorely missing the helpful game panels showing each teammates health, she slowly extended her arms, allowing her cards to circle around before- suddenly, in typical Titan style, a massive green hand descended to, surprisingly gently, pick her up. Flinching and squeezing out a squeal, Pari cowered away as far as her spine would let her, eyes tightly screwed shut. It took her a few moments and a poke from the semi-sentient Joker to pry an eye open, noting the fact that the lumbering giant carrying her around was, in fact, Lucas. She could've sworn she had felt him move away, him and his melted rock candy armour, towards the finish line. Why had he come back? Couldn't he make it? Her staring at his sweating, struggling self was interrupted only by the blur of a figure on fire - the demon boy? - towards the finish line, pursued in quick succession by several other contestants, quite surprisingly including the tribal dressed triplets. They were contestants? They were the people who escalated good teammates to mythical status.

Speaking of teammates, her own was clearly having a hard time. And she had underestimated the effort it took to maintain the armour, she realised too little too late, as she watched, with growing horror, his consciousness slip from him, and herself from his grasp. She fell unceremoniously to the floor, hip receiving the brunt of the shock - her old woman bones wouldn't take it without a grumble and a creak. But the boy was having the shorter end of the stick, appearing to have passed out face down, hand outstretched in the gesture that had knocked her over the metaphorical (and visible, actually) green line. Scrambling to her feet, hands and knees stinging with the rough rubble and her tumble, Pari felt her panic fade. She had, somehow, managed to clear the exam. "Fool, fool!" She hissed between clenched teeth, scrambling back to the comatose boy's side, muttering more to herself than him. Her cards crazily whizzed around her in a hurricane, mirroring her mental agitation. "This is what happens when the side mission distracts you from the main objective," She growled, gritting her words and helplessly glaring down at him. What should she do? Why would he throw away his chance, his once-in-a-lifetime chance to get someone else across the line? Did he already cross it and return? Was she taking up his slot?! Shuddering, she knelt, gently ghosting her hands across his head before pushing to turn him to his side, just as he had done prior to their little joyride on the tsunami. Should she leave him here for medical personnel? Biting her lip, she turned to regretfully look at the finish line. She didn't really cross it herself; she was carried. So if it applied in her case....surely it would in his as well? It didn't matter that he was unconscious, right? Just to be safe, right? Hoisting her hoodie closer to her neck and popping a lollipop for strength, she crouched, looping her hands awkwardly around the male's torso.

"Erhem, right then," She mumbled to herself, trying to stifle her embarrassment with a cough or two. Her cards settled before slotting to form a partial shield, protecting the two from any further disturbances in the form of stray darts, thrown stone projectiles or angry flaming contestants. Man, why couldn't real life have a 10 second res timer? Inching backwards, slowly dragging the boy across the floor, Pari strained against the male's frame and her own physical ineptitude. Deeming it ineffective, she slung one arm of his over her head, providing enough leverage to lift his torso off the ground, letting a few cards support his limp body instead. And so, half floating, half dragging, Pari pulled herself and her unlikely saviour across the finish line.

Gwenrhian

'Tsk, damn meat shields.' With her overhead blow repelled by the manifestation of an apparition of armor around her victim, Gwenrhian's lips quirked upwards in annoyance. However, there was little time for that as her opponent immediately followed up with an overhead blow of his own, a spectral sword flickering into his hands. The girl spun to the side, aiming to skirt around the blade's edge by a thin margin to and deliver a follow up strike to her opponent, but her plans soon shattered as Lucas went from a mere Iron man to the Iron Giant, the spectral armor quintupling in size until Gwenrhian was barely up to its kneecaps. So frightened had she been by the abrupt escalation in size that only a single, furious curse escaped her lips, "Diawl Bach!"

Reacting almost immediately in sheer panic, the girl retreated, the rustling of her leafy clothing replacing her voice as she fled with consecutive somersaults. By the time she felt safe enough to stop, her opponent was gone. She warily scanned the battlefield, concerned that his quirk not only brought spectral armor to the physical realm but could also work in reverse to bring the user's body to a more ghostly and ethereal state. Her worries proved unfounded, as she noticed her opponent collapsed on the floor just short of the finish line, and another girl, the student he'd entered the room with, hastily dragging him across the line.

Relaxing her stance, the girl merely watched the scene play out, and for a moment a gleam of respect appeared in her eyes. He was decisive, choosing to risk everything on a single maneuver to allow both him and his partner a chance to escape. Shifting her weight onto her dominant leg, and crossing her other leg behind her, she bent slightly at the knee and waist which crossing her left fist over her heart. It was a simple bow, or rather a gesture of worthiness and respect towards an opponent.

She didn't draw the gesture out though, merely dedicating a scant handful of seconds to it. There were other things to attend to like... Her aquamarine eyes locked onto Daisuke, staring coldly as he chased after her sister. She snorted behind her mask, and taking a short run, she whisked the short spear in her hand into a reverse grip and rose it above her shoulder. Taking the shot, she launched her now javelin towards the offending student. She was also closing in on him, her remaining spear already within her grasp.

Gweneira

Sighing to herself as Parker, and then Aspen, flashed by her and crossed the finish line, Gweneira realized that the battle no longer had any meaning. With 4 of the students already past the finish line, soon to be 6 as Gwenerys and her pursuer rapidly approached, the vast majority of the students would've gotten to the 'safe zone' and the rest would soon follow. Her eyebrows quirked along with her lips into a frowning face, and she helplessly turned tail and followed the crowd, slipping across the finish line along with Aspen.

Almost immediately, she took notice of Pari's desperate attempts to drag Lucas across the finish line, and she froze. Her brow furrowing, she slowly made her way over to the duo with careful steps, her hands raised in a sign of surrender. She stopped at about 2m from the duo, her raised hand reaching behind her head and untying the tiki mask, letting the wooden decoration fall to the ground. A bashful, apologetic smile hung on her lips and lowered herself to the ground- cross-legged. She gave a sheepish laugh and attempted to lock eyes with Pari, "You might not believe this...but I can help him." She pointed to the limp Lucas before continuing, "I'm a...herbalist of sorts." It was a rather vague answer, but an accurate description nonetheless.

She stretched her hand out as if to offer a handshake and slowly but surely, a small wooden bowl flickered onto her palm. Held within was a resplended green liquid with an almost crystalline appearance. The small bowl floated in mid-air, shakily making its way over to the duo. "Have him drink that...and you can have some too, it's not much but it'll give you a bit of energy."

With that said, the Alchemist got to work, a stone cauldron appearing before her. The cauldron spun in place as it simmered of an illusory, heatless flame, the girl occasionally reaching into the air, and plucking spectral herbs from her unseen reservoir and tossing them into the cauldron. The process only lasted for a few seconds, but once she was a pungent odor wafted from the lips of the stone vessel. With a light push, she sent the cauldron cruising through the air towards Pari. "That's...smellingsalt...or the next best thing. It should wake him up if you let him sniff it a bit. Remember to feed him the juice first though." Blinking a few times, Gweneira stared expectantly at the duo.

Like a cat with hackles raised, Pari's senses were as scrambled as her thoughts. Hair plastered to her face with sweat already, her efforts appeared to be paying off, as inch by inch, she made progress with the combined help of her cards and her own adrenaline-fuelled scramble. The war waged on around around, rising and ebbing, but she was mercifully left alone. And all at once, suddenly she wasn't. Inhaling sharply, she tightened her grip on Lucas' arms as a voice rose behind her. Turning sharply, her cards fluidly broke up and reformed before the girl; a few unused ones hovering in the air, threateningly pointing at the interloper. It was with some surprise that she watched the tiki girl, previously thought to be an NPC of sorts, unclasp her mask and let it fall to the ground, revealing her to be very much human. Maybe it was just a realistic AI bot. Eyes narrowed in suspicion, Pari carefully watched her advances. So far, she seemed to be playing it safe, executing all the human gestures of surrender.

Muscles tensely coiled, Pari impatiently heard the girl out, noting that the clock was ticking with each word she said. What was it, an apology? But no, instead she received, shock and horror, an offer for help. The abruptness actually stunned Pari for a few seconds; she stared blankly as the girl conjured up a bowl from thin air. It was the slow, ominous movement of the vessel towards them that set off her danger alarms. Releasing Lucas and letting him balance on his newfound card mattress, she turned to completely face the 'herbalist, of sorts', hands up in a wary gesture, implying that she'd fight her physically if she had to. While it wasn't unheard of for people to abruptly have a change in heart, especially outside of battle, she had little fuel to add to her faith in the girl. How did she know it wouldn't explode in her face? While the academy likely wouldn't allow casualties like that, her apprehension still outweighed reason, and her hands gradually crept closer to her body in a bid to prevent touching the bowl. It was filled with a par-clear liquid, with a greenish hint, and appeared to be mildly viscous. Almost like a real world potion. Ambergris, is that you? Pari stared at the concoction with furrowed brows, hesitant, but also desperate.

If what the girl said was true, it would benefit Lucas. If not, she risked harming him further than she already had - yes, justify it as she might, he was unconscious because he had returned for her. Was the risk worth it? Should she not try to minimize the damage done? Biting her lip and raising helpless, limpid orbs at the girl, she paused for a minute as yet another cauldron made her way over to her. Breathing in, she gave a single, cursory nod to the female before snatching the bowl from the air. Please work. Hoping she wasn't to regret her trust in the fluid, she cupped Lucas' face with one hand and gently held the bowl to his lips. He wouldn't drown, right? That would be the real tragedy - killed by her own incompetence. Maybe holding him upright would lessen the risk of him inhaling the liquid instead? Sandwiching his comatose body between two cards, she slowly tilted him until he was nearly standing. Hand still on his face, she paused yet again - if this were to flow to his lungs, he'd just drown all the much faster. Still, she had to try. Casting another look backwards towards the finish line, she slowly began inching that way, letting the cards carry Lucas. Pacing herself, every few seconds, she'd pour in a sip-worth of liquid in, stroking his throat to make sure it went in. Somewhere along the line, she stole a gulp, and almost gagged. Bitter, watery, and somewhat acidic. It had a slight sweetish tinge at the end, but that didn't stop her from pulling a face and popping a handful of hard candy into her mouth.

To the alchemist's credit, it did what was promised. She felt as though she'd taken a drink after a long day of dehydration, and it seemed to infuse some energy in her. It was the equivalent of drinking coffee to wake up, and Pari paused yet again, enjoying the delicious feeling of being aware and alive, before tipping the last dredges of the liquid down the boy's throat. Holding his head upright, she poked unsuccessfully for a vein before giving it up, reaching instead for the smellingsalt. Most of her doubt towards the girl had vanished, but somewhere in the back of her mind remained the warning bells, that the substances might react violently together. Well, the answer was obvious, wasn't it? Without hesitation (aka without really thinking it through), Pari leaned in and took a sniff.

Why did she do that

The odour hit her like a truck - it was worse than the hydrogen sulphide gas back in the school lab. Oh, lord. Yeah, that was smellingsalt alright. Feeling sickened by how much she had inhaled - it was an unhealthily big sniff - she carefully held the bowl at a safe distance from Lucas' face. They were almost at the line, something the preoccupied girl hadn't really noticed, but now that her self-medication process was coming to an end, she was eagerly watching her partner's face for any signs of consciousness.

Lucas was quite comfortable in his self induced slumber, floating gently in a never ending sea of darkness and warmth. He wasn't really dreaming as such but his mind was far from the pain and stress of the outside world, nothing to bother him here. Sadly his contented state wasn't to last, an intruder in his sleep was wrenching him back to reality, a truly terrible smell that had bridged the gap between body and mind. Eyes flying open the boy bolted upright, suddenly all too awake and feeling the pain and fatigue that came with that burden. At first both his vision and mind remained unfocused, his surroundings confusing and difficult to decipher. There was somebody beside him, their small frame blurred until the stimulant kicked in, filling Luca's tired body with a newfound energy, like electricity flowing through his veins.

"Pari?"

It all came flooding back, the entry exam, the flooded area and those tiki girls, the reason he'd pushed himself to unconsciousness in the first place. He was surrounded by a miniature fortress comprised of Pari's ever useful playing cards but he could still hear the remnants of conflict outside the walls, clearly the little scrap wasn't completely over yet. Good, that means he probably wasn't out very long. Feelings of gratefulness for Pari were suddenly pushed aside by fear as he realised he had no idea if they'd passed the finish line yet. Pushing himself into a sitting position (Easily done thanks to a little Gweneria energy drink tm) Lucas pried open a gap in the cards and glanced outside. Relief washed over him just like the wave trap they'd encountered earlier as realised they'd made it, Pari must have dragged him across the line after he'd been knocked out. Despite the embarrassment he felt about that and the many questions that he'd yet to ask (Where the hell did she get that terrible tasting medicine?) Lucas found himself grinning with genuine joy. He'd done it. Well actually they'd done it Lucas thought to himself as he slumped against the card wall and locked eyes with Pari.

"I knew I'd made the right choice teaming up with you." He smirked, rubbing a sore spot on the back of his head. He had no idea when exactly he'd acquired that particular injury, he'd probably be discovering new bumps and bruises all week after that ordeal. "My apologies about dropping you back there, I took a calculated risk whether I'd make it to the finish line but maths was never my strongest suite..."

With the stimulant now in full effect the negative effects of blacking out were now completely gone but it did nothing to help the god awful after taste it left in its wake. A flavour that Lucas would describe as the sensation of drinking orange juice after cleaning your teeth dialled up to 11. Reaching in to the depths of his jean pockets the triumphant boy pulled out a very slightly sodden pack of Hubba bubba chewing gum. He popped two pieces into his mouth in an effort to counteract the medicine before offering the gum to Pari, one eyebrow raised ever so slightly as he held the sweet out in front of her. After all she'd done for him a little candy was the least he could give in return.

Daisuke saw the incoming spear as it flew towards him from another of the masked women who had attacked the other aspiring students. Which robbed Daisuke of his smug satisfaction from knocking down the section of the ceiling. Though that itself had already been soured when everyone managed to avoid it; including the trio that had been his target. As now his expression had been replaced by a look of concern, and perhaps worry at at least that's what Asami had assumed as she looked on with worry.

"Daisuke!!"

Ching!
However, the smug smirk returned as Daisuke used a pair of chains he grew from his back and had them wrap around Gwenrhian's spear which halted its momentum. Said smirk only grew as Gwenrhian charged at him with another spear as Daisuke used his chains to flip the spear he caught around before he charged Gwenrhian.

"Will take more than a sharp stick to beat me! Let me show you how a real hero f....GAH!"

"E-enough! We are done here!"
Asami had seen enough, and moved between Gwenrhian and Daisuke as she grabbed the latter by the back of his collar as he yanked him out of the way. Course, this had left Asami vulnerable to Gwenrhian as she charged with a spear which caused the shark girl's eyes to widen; though as she felt the electric pulse of Gwenrhian's body move she remembered the advice from her mother when she shared that aspect of her Quirk.

Don't think, don't question. Just react, that's its greatest strength.
With that, Asami did just that; as she moved on an impulse as she seemed to almost anticipate where the spear would go as it only just grazed her cheek before she rolled to the side and quickly carried Daisuke with her; in spite of his verbal protests, she focused on getting across that finish line as soon enough they joined everyone else as seemingly the last ones to cross it. Asami set Daisuke down as she let out a sigh of relief and quickly sprayed her gills with one of the bottled waters.

They made it. She made it, she actually made it past the line.

Gwenrhian

For the briefest of moments, a period of time practically imperceptible, shock welled from Gwenrhian's eyes. It was rare that the girl encoutered someone with both the reaction speed and expertise to perform such a minimal dodge. A gleam of playful, yet predatory interest crossed Gwenrhian's face as she watched the retreating girl, her features, though hidden beneath the mask, twisted into a grin. Retrieving her spear from its forward thrust position, she beat the wooden shafts of the weapon playfully against the open palm of her remaining arm. Within her mind a virtual image was formed, a replay of sorts, which depicted the past few seconds caught within the lenses of Gwenrhian's eyes.

Studying the memory in detail, she poured over the shark girl's reaction. From the widening of the girl's eyes to the way her body momentarily froze, a few conjectures could be drawn. She immediately ruled out vision as the main factor in the girls reaction. The girls eyes widened instead of focusing, so she hadn't traced the path of the spear using her eyes. Asami's dynamic vision likely want shabby, but it decidedly wasn't the crucial factor in her dodge.

Although Gwenrhian's sense were impressive and the amount of information she'd received in that signs exchange extensive, it would still take a great deal of effort and observation to reveal the secrets of Asami's deft motions. Or it would, but the sharp teeth that peeked from her mouth with every word, in addition to the dorsal fin and tail almost immediately revealed the nature of Asami's quirk, and from there it wasn't too hard to make an educated guess. However, that was only based on the assumption one was indeed widely read. While she was well versed in several fighting styles both armed and unarmed, could out acrobat a professional acrobat and quite literally turn on a dime (she'd tried)- Shark biology was simply outside the girl's area of expertise, and she was clueless. Shrugging off her questions she simply resolved to ask Niera about it later, the mad scientist was sure to be more familiar with the topic at hand.

Since Asami and the loud mouth hat already crossed the finish line, that left Gwenrhian with little to do and even less reason to dillydally. With casualty, she strut across the finish line, then plunging the business end of her weapon into the ground, she created a small prop atop which she leaned. From her location of leisure, she observed as Gweniera offered her own brand of herbal energy boosters to the remaining contestants, each student recieving a small bowl of the emerald liquid.

Parker knelt over, one hand on his knee and one on his still bleeding face. His horns had retracted along with the flames around his arms shortly after he crossed the finish line, but his entire body was still smoking. He stood straight and rose his hand as Gweniera offered him some sort of medicine in those cursed bowls of her's. He quickly slapped the bowls away, splattering the contents across the ground around them.

"I don't need your hospitality." He practically snarled at the girl, but how much of that was anger and how much was the fact his nose was shattered... he didn't know.

"If we ever have combat training together, I'm melting the flesh from your bone."

Pari's attention strayed from her partner to follow the alchemist, who quickly wandered off as soon as the last of the medicine had been downed. She appeared to be offering a similar concoction to each student; the gamer pulled a face, not sure what to think of that. To be fair, they - the three of them - did just pose as the final 'boss' and hindered the otherwise smooth progress of all groups. Atleast, she hoped the other groups fared better than the two of them had. God forbid anyone else had the time they did. And clearly, the battle was only just wrapping up, as the final girl, the one wielding a wooden spear (level 3 weaponry, anyone?) finally decided to end conflict and quickly crossed the finish line.

Pushing her still-wet bangs out of her face, she turned back to connect gazes with Lucas. Well, this was awkward- and then it wasn't as the boy's attention quickly shifted back to the entrance exam. He was surprisingly lucid for someone who had just regained consciousness. Must've been the Quick Revive(tm). His next lines were an apology about his decision to return for her, and she frowned; she was just about to open her mouth to rebuke him when the funny part of it struck her. Stifling her biting words behind a half-smile, before discarding the last of her anger to allow herself a smirk, she leaned to extend a supporting hand to help him up. "Lucky for you, I'm great at math. And every probability back there states you were an idiot," She chuckled lightly, attention diverting yet again as with a resounding crash, a bowl not unlike the one she held moments ago fell to the ground. Her eyes lingered a while longer before returning to her partner. "...but thanks. I appreci-"

Her words were cut off as her eyes followed the boy's hand, watching with a sudden predatory instinct. Somewhere, she knew what was coming. Is that- was it really-
"...gum...?" She whispered, eyes widened as the packet came into view, dispensing its contents for the male briefly before being offered to her. Was he offering her gum? "Oh my god," calm yourself Pari it's just gum you have like 4 packe- "oh my god," she repeated, swallowing as she absolutely honed in on the offering. "Yes. Yes, thank you. Here, take some candy," positively snatching the packet out of Lucas's hand, she shovelled her other paw into her pocket before pulling out an overwhelming amount of sweets. It was a varied assortment, and was literally spilling from between her fingers and over the sides of her palm. While she was pretty much showering Lucas with chocolates and lollipops, her carefully clutched prize was tapped surreptitiously, neatly releasing two units of gum into her mouth. Oh, clearly her choice of partner had been a good one too.

Gweneira

Feisty! Ferocious! Fickle! Gweneira's impression of Parker could be summed up with those 3 F-words, though perhaps 3 other F-words would do just as well. With a searing gaze the boy apeared to size her up; pupils smoldering, black smoggy flames billowing off his body, a vindictive snarl in his throat and a grim bloodied expression- his visage was outright horrifying, and had there been any children around their shrill screams and despairing wails would've added to the atmosphere. Simply put, he was just like his quirk- demonic.

Her breath caught in her throat and she cowared in response to his clear attempt at intimidating her. She wasn't one for combat. While her eldest sister was a front row battler, and her youngest sister was a back row supporter, she herself was a mix between auxilliary support and mid-range support. Her body trembled and in a futile effort she moved to hide her face beneath her swathes of snowy hair. She diverted her gaze, unwilling to meet the invasively hostile boy in a clash of eyes.

As fate would have it, her gaze flittered over to Gwenrhian, who immediately locked eyes with her. Eyes flashing a calming blue, the eldest sibling brushed a lock of hair out of her face and with a reassuring smile she mouthed, 'It's okay.' Promptly, Gweneira's quivering stabilized, and mutely, she gave Parker a slight nod and retrieved the overturned bowl. Steady steps took her away from the smoking fiend and closer to Gwenrhian, who she swiftly hid behind while burying her face into the leafy clothing of her sister. Saftey at last.

Scrunching her nose in distaste at Parker’s attitude, Aspen swatted his arm, a scolding look present on her freckled features.
“That’s not a very heroic mindset,” she chided mockingly, shooting him a look. “I get that you have an edgy persona to uphold, but c’mon.”
In all honesty, she had been pretty hesitant to step forward and even say anything to him; the black coils of smoke steadily rising from his body had been more than intimidating, but considering the fact that she’d taken it upon herself to associate herself with him in the beginning, she found herself radiating second-hand embarrassment and giving apologetic looks for his temper.

Tentatively, she attempted to approach Gweneira, who was cowering behind Gwenrhian, although obviously she didn’t know them by name. Hell, once she did, there still wasn’t much of a way to distinguish one from the other. Deciding to keep her distance, she warily halted a few feet in front of them.
“I, uh.. I figured I’d try and.. make amends, on my.. acquaintance’s behalf..?” She tried, feeling her throat go dry at her feeble endeavor. Oh god, what was she doing..? She cleared her throat, her gaze askance.
“Just.. I ask that you don’t take it too personally.. I’m sure he’s.. not always like this?”
The doubt in her voice as she forced the last statement past what felt like glass in her throat was incredible. She really wasn’t sure if he’d actually meet this criteria, but part of her was hopeful. She flashed the duo an awkward smile, apologized once more, and went to turn away, swearing mentally.
Oh my god Asp what did you just do.

A visibly angry Parker frowned at Aspen as he stuffed his clean hand into his pocket, keeping the other to his face as crimson red dripped down his arm.

"So are heroes not allowed to hold grudges now..." he mumbled to himself before walking on past the girls.

Being by himself was easier to begin with, he had no idea why he chose to partner up with some weakling light wielder. Not to mention that stupid triplet girl had started it by breaking his nose unnecessarily... why was it his fault for getting angry? Women made no sense.

One week later…

“Not bad for a first draft.” Lucas admitted as he stood in front of a full length mirror checking out the proto type hero suit the IHA support team had produced for him. The result was a hybrid between his casual wear and a modernised European knight’s armour, a bit of a jump from the sketches he’d submitted (Although that was hardly a masterpiece, Lucas can’t draw to save his life) but now that he was wearing it he had to admit that he liked what they’d done with it. The main component was a simple black hoodie with a light metal breastplate built into it, with chainmail overlaying the sleeves. The lower half consists of metal plates overlaying cargo trousers, topped off with a pair of steel toe capped boots. On the back of the hoodie is a green sword design, with the outline of a shield behind it. Due to the very nature of his quirk he didn’t really need anything else, he was his own armour at the end of the day. After a few last second adjustments Lucas emerged from the male changing room and into the brightly lit courtyard outside where the rest of the recently formed class Alpha were gathered. It was their third day as a class together and honestly so far the life of a hero in training hadn’t been quite as action packed as he’d envisioned growing up. Class Alpha’s first two days had consisted mostly of going over health and safety, learning the basic theory of being an official hero and a couple of “getting to know everybody” exercises. Lucas had to hold back a shudder just thinking about the latter. Regardless of the slow pace things had been moving at today promised to step things up a gear.

Falling into line amongst his fellow classmates Lucas sidled up next to Pari who, after their eventful encounter in the entrance exam, he was the most comfortable with. It was easy enough to stay on her good side with a pocketful of candy which he was grateful for, generally forging any kind of friendship proved difficult thanks to his less than open nature. He was yet to clash with any of the others from this colourful ensemble of characters but he was careful to keep his wits about him with the triplets after the stunt they’d pulled last week. For the others he had little to note except everybody was looking a little more impressive now that they were all suited up. Hero training was about to get serious. Speaking of which…

“Okay kiddos listen up cause were doing something a little bit special today! That’s right, it’s time to choose a class rep between you. This is a HUGE opportunity for all of you so buckle up, being class rep could give you the edge when it comes to big hero companies selecting you for traineeships.”

Mr Busch explained to the group, although thanks to what Lucas could only assume are the lungs of a bull elephant the man’s voice was probably heard by half the academy. Yup, against all odds they’d all been paired up with the bearded German who’d welcomed them to the entrance exam, much to Lucas’ chagrin. Matching the clear skies above their homeroom teacher was sporting a light blue sweater today with a tie patterned with clouds.

“Now I get what you’re all thinking. Why did good ole Mr Busch bring us down here to the sports arena and get us all suited up just to vote on class rep? Well those of you who’ve been attention may have realised that we like to do things a little differently around here. There will be no vote, instead a trial by fire shall decide which of you is most fitting to represent Alpha! You’ll be competing in a no holds barred dodgeball match with no quirk restrictions. The only rule being for those with armour forming quirks. A ball that makes contact with your armour counts as a hit and you’re out of the game. That’ll be all, enjoy and may the best hero win.”

With the rules explained the teacher gestured towards the entrance of the sports arena, his usual broad grin gleaming in the direct sunlight.

Lucas was feeling pumped. Not that you’d know it by looking at him, his expression betrayed no more emotion than it had during this morning’s crossword puzzle. So it wasn’t the serious hero training he’d been anticipating, so what? This was as Mr Busch had said, a huge opportunity. Getting noticed by any large hero company was a difficult task in and of itself so any leg up on the competition would be priceless. There was just one terrible downside to the entire tournament. His armour was essentially useless, a pain considering that rule might as well have named him personally. That was the easy way out gone but he still stood a fighting chance as long as he could play defensively.

“Pari I’m sure you understand that due to the nature of this game I will be forced to treat you as of much as threat as anybody else here. I expect you to do the same in return.” Lucas explained to the diminutive girl beside him, putting on his best “This is a shame but duty calls” tone of voice (No he hadn’t practiced it before...well only a little.) before turning on his heel and heading towards the sports arena with the rest of the crowd. After a few steps he called back to her in a warmer voice as he continued his steady pace “No hard feelings if you beat me though, you’ll still get your daily candy.”

(The following is a description of the inside of the arena for those of you who wish to write ahead a little. It’s similar to a football stadium in its base design, round, with seating for the audience encircling the playing field. However the sports arena boasts a M.L.E.M (Multi level environment mode) that means the terrain can shift into pretty much anything. Today it’s a concrete jungle, with shifting pillars that provide cover as well as form interesting bits of architecture such as arches, steps and in a few cases slides. Around the arena are enough podiums for each student as well as a bag full of IHA issue dodgeballs. The giant screen above the stadium shows off the stats of each contender and their place in the game.)

Parker exited the Male changing room after Lucas. Both of their hero costumes had ended up being armor, but Parker's was much more protective and less modern looking. His looked more like an actual suit of black armor, but that's because his Quirk provided much less defense than Lucas's.

"They did a damn good job on this though... it's exactly what I wanted it to look like."

He assumed his usual position, as close to Aspen as he could get and as far away from the triplets. Parker certainly wished there were less annoying people in his class, but light girl would suffice.

He was beginning to get bored of waiting in line when the already too recognizable voice of their teacher had boomed over them.

“Okay kiddos listen up cause were doing something a little bit special today! That’s right, it’s time to choose a class rep between you. This is a HUGE opportunity for all of you so buckle up, being class rep could give you the edge when it comes to big hero companies selecting you for traineeships.”

Parker straightened up at the mention of class rep. He didn't much care for leading this pack of monkeys, but he certainly wanted the edge over them in terms of hero training with the pros.

"You’ll be competing in a no holds barred dodgeball match with no quirk restrictions."

Finally.

What Parker had been waiting for had finally arrived. A chance to show that medicine bitch what she had started. Parker had ended up getting his nose healed up perfectly fine, but he hadn't forgotten. Smoke began to billow out of his eyes.

I'm gonna drive a dodgeball into her stupid damn face...

Aspen had taken a little longer than she would’ve liked, as her suit had proved to be quite the puzzle. A skin tight black bodysuit with reflective turquoise accents, and slits in the sides that showed her waist, of which she continuously slipped her feet in on accident while trying to wiggle the suit on. A dark red had made its way to her cheeks at this reveal, and after tugging on her shoes and throwing her hair up, she walked out of the girl’s changing room, arms self-consciously covering her sides as she left the changing room, her gaze askance. It did seem, despite her struggles, that she’d changed swifter than some of the others, and was actually one of the first into the courtyard. The heterochromic teen stood awkwardly for a while, fiddling with her hands, until the room to the boys changing room creaked open, and her very own edgy companion stepped out.
Stifling a giggle as he approached, dressed in.. armor, of sorts.
“Well look at you,” she teased, grinning. After that she really said nothing, almost dozing off before her attention was brought back by the announcement of something amazing.
No quirk restrictions?
Attempting to her hide back her smile but failing, she bit her lip to restrain a quiet squeal of excitement. So many ideas ran through her head, so many plans, she found herself shifting her weight continuously from one foot to the other, finding herself needing to move in the midst of her eagerness. This was going to be fun~

"Wow, it's just like how I drew it. These guys are...oh, it's a bit tight..."

Asami had mumbled to herself as she took out her own outfit to wear for the occasion. In this case, a purple singlet with a silver "M" symbol on the chest. Which had been complimented by a pair of blue gloves and matching colored boots. It certainly looked like how she imagined it, even if it had been a little tight for her taste. But would it function as it should? In theory the suit would allow her to soak water into her body like a sponge that should keep her hydrated. Well, there was but one way to find out, and as she gulped from the nerves of the coming class especially given that there'd be "no Quirk restrictions. She had no idea what to expect there, but she did know she needed to settle said nerves quickly as she began to walk where they had been instructed to meet up.

Daisuke himself seemed to have a differed reaction, As he gazed upon his white spandex suit with a blazing bone designs on the chest he inspected its mask; which consisted of a skull mask as per his request as he placed it on only after he had placed his black cloak on as he felt he needed to have this. Practical? No, but it added to the style as Daisuke seemed mostly pleased...minus the spandex as he began to regret not requesting a differed material.

However, he had eager excitement over this class. A chance to show off his costume to the other students and made a true first impression, especially given he'd be allowed to cut loose without any Quirk restrictions given the announcement. This was the defining moment, and he had not been about to waste time gawking at his outfit as he soon began to make his way from the boy's locker room; down the same hall Asami had began to travel down as both wondered what lied ahead for them.

Gwenrhian

Rubbing her wrists to secure her gloves Gwenrhain confidently strutted out onto the field in her apparel as the War Maiden. She'd somewhat expected it, but all the blade's she'd requested had been dulled to quite an extent- they were practically blunt weapons as far as she was concerned. Her eyes stirred with disappointment, but she didn't particularly mind. She had her own collection of weapons which could be utilized and the majority of non-bladed weapons she'd requested had been created to her specifications. Flourishing her coat, she spent her time observing the field that would host their little dodgeball match. She was mostly silent, but her eyes had lingered on a few of the other students; Lucas, Asami, and Parker.

Cloaked in their own hero suits, her two sisters flanked her, Gweneira hidden beneath the drapes of her dark cape, and Gwenerys scrutinizing the stitchwork on her own cape, which was a vivid red.

It took Pari a good twenty minutes of staring before resigning herself to the fact that she couldn't don her costume through sheer willpower. Truth be told, she had very little say in her costume - it was her mom who done most of the work. Actually, she might've done it that day when she was trying out that new MOBA. Had terrible physics - they implemented aerial combat without fixing attack collision. Noobs. Regardless, that was probably how she came about to this dilemma. She cast a furtive glance around - all the other girls were busy wearing their suits; was it just her who thought hers had far too many pieces? Clenching her jaw, she unzipped her hoodie, shaking the candy within its pockets free.

By the time the last girl had exited the room, Pari was on the floor, practically sobbing from frustration as she wrestled with her boots. Her threats and curses were muffled with the lollipop in her mouth, her previously pristine white suit was discovered to have some dust repellent property but clearly creased just as much as any other fabric (take that, mom, an overlook on your part!) and she had spent the better part of the time learning how to put her gloves on right. Why did it cover only two fingers? How was the rest of it staying still? The rubber clung unpleasantly to her hand, making it feel like second skin. Her fingers slipped yet again on the spandex of her calf, and she nearly swallowed her lollipop. "Oh my god," She brought her hands up to press her temples. She needed a cheat code for auto dressing. Getting to her feet, looking woefully at herself in the mirror, she managed a half-hearted smirk. Messy dress, too loose boots, drenched with sweat. Some hero.

Moving to pick up the last article of her costume, a loose outer cloth supposedly meant to wear over the skin tight suit - thank goodness for that - she shook the fabric open to survey her new opponent, jumping slightly when a piece of paper fluttered loose. "Eh?" Absentmindedly hooking the fabric (surprisingly perfectly) into place, she bent to pick up the paper her eyes had followed to the ground. "...codes." She'd done it. Her mom had actually done it. The preset ones were too simple for her taste, but as long as she knew it was possible to format her uniform, it would take but a few minutes to figure out how to access each piece. Hoping fervently the technology was completely implemented, she punched in the first line. "z-p-g-n-7-8-9-9-" Pari mumbled, staring at the paper as her hand moved unguided at her thigh. Immediately the earpiece crackled to life, playing a well-loved piece almost instantly. The girl's face split into a wide grin. "Oh, hell yeah. 2060mfkkgh. 172306. 4fb. 4fb? Eh." Her boots immediately cinched tight. The belt at her waist tightened, cinching the cloth in place and hiding the pad. An unpleasant jolt of electricity travelled up and down her body at the '4fb' code as she wondered why it was so short. "Ow!" She yelped, punching in the code again, causing the source to ebb, leaving only a tingling aftertaste. "Jesus, gotta improvise on the go," She mumbled to herself, eyes flying over the last few codes. Very basic. She'd have to alter them later.

Biting the last of the lollipop crystal in half and swallowing it, she smoothened her outer lapels and strode out, trying not to make her legs twitch - whether from anticipation or the aftereffects of the jolt, she wasn't sure. "Armour quirks...hnn, guess that applies to me too. Time to improvise." Touching the balls would eliminate her, but she could atleast use her cards to protect herself from bodily harm. Aforementioned pack slotted themselves against her frame, encasing her as best as they could. Joining seamlessly to create hollow columns around her arms and legs, neatly covering her abdomen and back, changing sizes as necessary. It barely added an inch to her body, at which point she would've been out of the game in any case. She even managed to stand on two cards, using a few more to firmly sandwich her feet in place. "Interesting, hey?" She smiled goodnaturedly at Lucas' retreating back. She'd rather him give her daily candy now, of course, but she could earn her treats! She kept some sweets just for these special occasion- "ow!" She yelped in pain as the so far idle Joker, who had been hovering next to her, decided to fly into her hair, very close to the skull, essentially protecting her head from the back. "What the hell?" Pari grimaced, annoyed at the sudden pain; regardless, choosing to save the lecture for later, she popped a jawbreaker in, waiting patiently for the commencement of the round. "Let's play a game, shall we?" She mouthed, eyes zeroed in on Lucas.

A game? Lucas was apprehensive at the very thought of playing a game with Pari. The girl was some sort of savant when it came to games of almost any kind, and not just card games like her quirk may suggest. Besides weren’t they technically already in a game, albeit one with a serious outcome? Despite himself Lucas was in a good mood and as long as whatever Pari was planning didn’t interfere with his chances of winning…well he could play along a bit. Locking eyes with Pari across the playing field he nodded slowly, acknowledging her challenge. With a moment to spare before the action began he took a second to take in her hero suit prototype. It was less practical looking than his own, more stylised. Primarily white in colouration with an odd looking glove and some kind of flowy fabric that covered the entire suit. He could see the logic behind it, something flashy like that would pay off if she made it big. The public could latch on to an image like that.

A countdown began on the giant screen that hung above the class, green numbers counting backwards from 5. Upon reaching 0 a bell rang out and the stadium sprung to life, the various concrete formations began shifting as if they were creatures of flesh not inanimate objects. Walls slowly shifted and twisted, spears of stone jutted up from the ground whilst others sunk away. It was already a hectic scene and the fighting hadn’t even begun. Lucas wasted no time putting some distance between himself and the starting podiums, bending low to snag the bag full of dodgeballs as he did so. Sprinting through the living maze he found what was essentially a small cave, a hollow between two walls. How long it would remain in its current state he didn’t know so he’d have to act on his plan now. Busch had made it explicitly clear that he couldn’t simply coat himself in armour and prevent any of the balls from even making contact with him so he’d have to play this smart. Kneeling down in the “cave” he closed his eyes and waited for the familiar cold to wash over him. When he opened his eyes again the dim environment was cast in an eerie green glow and his armour was right before him, a mirror reflection of himself. Part of his quirk that he rarely experimented with was the sentient part of his spectral armour. He’d let it do its own thing before, usually it would just walk around and inspect things it found. Curious thing. But if given instructions…well it was time to test a theory.

“Spectre?”

He had no need to vocalise to the apparition, he could control it telepathically after all but that wasn’t what he wanted, he couldn’t be in control to make this work. He needed to be able to focus on offense and leave the defence to his other half.

The armour could not speak but it nodded in response to its name being called. The blank slate that was its visor betrayed nothing but at least he knew it could hear him.

“When we go out there in a moment we are going to be attacked. I need you to guard me. Can you do that?”

Again a curt nod.

“These” Lucas explained as he pulled one of the dodgeballs from his rucksack “are what we are up against. If one of them makes contact with me we lose.”

Let’s go. These last words weren’t verbal, instead Lucas used their mental connection to get his point across.

The two emerged back into the brightly lit arena in a defensive pose, the walking suit of armour leading the way with Lucas following close behind, one hand on the shoulder plate of his ally and the other holding a dodgeball. Now they just had to find a target…

Parker prepared himself both mentally and physically as he stood upon his podium. He stretched out his arms and legs, making sure he was ready to get going right out of the gate. He had someone to find. Someone to take out. Someone he wanted to beat more than he did the others.

He dropped off his podium as soon as the bell rang out to signal the start of the game. He rushed the center of the arena, weaving through the concrete spikes and walls forming around him. He didn't look it, but he had just as much if not more brains than the others. Strategy happened to be one of his strong suits... besides ripping things apart that is.

I don't have the staying power of the others... my quirk is on a timer, a fairly long timer, but a timer non the less. As long as I can take out the defensive players in the center first, I can blitz the others... I'll leave her for last.

Upon her podium, Aspen seemed to be bouncing slightly between the two of her feet, continuously shifting in anticipation, like an excited child awaiting a piece of candy.
She had only the most basic plan conjured in her mind, and even then it was filled with holes. What would later become common knowledge was that Aspen could not plan ahead for her life; while she was incredibly intelligent, yes, she was much more of a quick-thinker than someone who maps things out. She tended to go with the flow, if you will, but didn’t have a shortage of potential solutions if she found herself in a predicament.
At the shrilling of the bell, the girl hopped off her podium, and what happened consequently confused the hell out of her.

As it turned out, this was the first time Aspen had really ran in her suit; and as it turned out, there were small boosters on the bottoms of her boots, ultimately putting more power in her steps. It seemed she underestimated this, however, landing heavily with one foot only to find herself bouncing up much higher than she intended.
While she was mid-air, a massive concrete wall rumbled up from the ground, straight for her, in fact. Pushing off the wall as it formed beside her and using the momentum to fall back to the ground, the girl let out an embarrassed, if not relieved sigh.
Hoping nobody saw th-
Caught off guard in the midst of her thoughts, she yelped in surprise as a ball came hurling at her (already?), ducking down just in time to not be hit. Straightening herself, she cast an annoyed glare in the direction the ball came from, finding herself pursuing in that direction, steadily figuring out the intensity of her boosters. As she found her way across the stage, a little switch on her belt became apparent to her, and (as anyone would do,) she switched it on without hesitation.
Instantly, the matte turquoise highlights on her suit shifted to a shiny, reflective surface. Halting, she studied it with an air of perplexion before it dawned on her.

Summoning a tiny ball of light in her palms, she shot it at the reflective surface on her hip, watching as it bounced off, shooting in the direction her hip was facing.
Huh. So that’s what the switch is for.

Begin!

When the on screen countdown reached zero, Asami and Daisuke departed in opposite directions from their podiums. Much as they veered in opposite directions, their strategies also proved to be on different ends of the spectrum.

Asami's plan was simple. She's grab a lone dodgeball and hold it close to her as she traveled along the maze. In her mind, this was a game of endurance and like a marathon rather than a sprint. So her aim was simply to lay low and play defense with her lone dodgeball while she allowed other students to pick each other off. So Asami would hide by one of the generated walls, as she kept her heightened senses sharp while she scanned the field for anyone who could be a threat to her.

Daisuke, by contrast, had a more bold approach. Never one to shy away from the spotlight, Daisuke took as many balls as his multiple chains could carry as he scaled up one of the raised walls; he used four chains to stab into the wall as he walked along like they were spider legs while two others carried multiple balls. Soon he reached the top and stared down the field from his aerial view as he had a grin on his face.

This is gonna be fun. Now then...where are you scales?

Gwenrhian

1 femtosecond. It was a bit of an exaggeration, but it only took that much time for Gwenrhian to spring into motion after the teacher had declared the beginning of the match. She broke off into a run, her quirk thrumming to life; the blood in her veins flowed smoother, her brain cells sparked to life -electric impulses firing off from several hundred thousand if not millions of synapses all at once-, her nervous system quickened -as if supped up with biological turbo-, her semi-circular canals -responsible for perception of locomotion and balance- seemed to flair with a mystical complexity that allowed the girl to detect even the most minute of shifts in her body’s condition and adjust herself accordingly...While impulse drive might not have been a quirk that allowed its user to become a powerhouse externally, it made the internal working of their body a well-oiled quantum machine.

By the time she’d taken her second step, her quirk had already settled into a mid-intensity rhythm. She immediately began to strip down, whisking her coat off her shoulders and letting it disappear into the compact storage devices hidden within her gloves. The next things to disappear were all her swords, and blades -which would’ve certainly been of no use given the situation. One by one, pieces of her equipment disappeared until the only visible weapons on her person were the pair of nunchaku strapped to her legs.

Her eyes flickered back and forth, first to her immediate surroundings, and next to a nearby stash of dodgeballs -and she unhesitatingly choose the latter. After several deciseconds of observation, she'd determined that the environment was very much to her liking, but wouldn't particularly hinder anyone one from following. While she could certainly scramble up a tree and across the branches with the deftness of a monkey -thus ensuring she could outmaneuver her opponent- that wasn't exactly applicable in this situation.

The concrete jungle was certainly a welcome setting which she could use to her advantage, but she didn't believe she was anymore adept at climbing stairs than anyone else in this class. Since the environment wasn't going to be too much of an advantage to her, she opted to secure her means of offense first and foremost. Even as she motioned to snatch one of the bags of IHA-issued dodgeballs, her mind was still at work charting a feasible path of movement through the concrete maze of structures. Her now azure pupils swept towards a nearby set of stairs -particularly the 8th step in series- and immediately after, to the stone arch not even 10ft away. A short distance away from that arch were a series of stone pillars, and beyond that? Well- the stone age architecture obstructed her view, and as such she couldn't tell. Nevertheless, the moment her fingers were tightly secured around the neck of the bag, she was off, a flurry of steps falling across the ground as she scrambled up the stairs.

When she reached the 8th stair, her body twisted, and with an exertion of force, she leaped off the heaven-ascending structure and towards the curved arch. With dodgeballs in hand, her remaining arm slipped by the frills of her skirt, and she seized the handle of her utility whip. With a deft -and obviously experienced- motion, the whipped cracked through the air, the length of its body wrapping around the stone arch rather securely. The silver, white and black-clad holy maiden swung right under the arch, her momentum taking her in an upwards arc. As she reached the apex of her swing, a slight of wrist freed her whip from its anchor point and the girl soared briefly through the air. Given her significantly increased altitude she was able to give a cursory scan of the battlefield, and more importantly the locations of many students who'd either yet to hide, or hadn't hidden well enough. She was only able to observe for a fleeting moment before she landed on a stone pillar, and immediately made like the wind, dancing across the stone structures with illusory, unseen wings.

Gweneira

Following her eldest sister's example, Gweneira sprung into motion. She hadn't aimed for any dodgeballs, however, but instead, she rushed to the nearest alcove and hid. Now secluded in a stony embrace, the uncertain expression on her face melted into was of pure, unconcealed glee. Suppressing the urge to break into a fit of delirious laughter, she slid her hand through the air, gesturing as several small bowls came into being. Within each bowl were two pills -with the exception being the bowl furthest to the left, which held five pills. The pills were all of various different shapes, sizes, and colors, but they all had one thing in common, they'd been made using ingredients generously gifted by her classmates.

She stared down at the pills affectionately, her greatest creations to date. She had no clue what they did, but she was eager to use this exercise to figure out. She waved her hand once more, and most of the bowls disappeared, leaving three. These particular pills seemed to glimmer with the faint light of mystery, simply begging that their creator use them first -and who was Gweneira to deny them their request?

Included among the bowls was the leftmost bowl, which totaled up to 9 pills in all. Starting with the pills in the leftmost bowl, Gweneira plucked one out and inspected it. The pill was as black as -if not more so- the night itself and was shaped like the twisted fangs of some gnarled creature. A dark mist ,that seemed to seethe with corrupted, wafted off its surface, coiling about in the air as if it were sentient, forming what vaguely seemed to be the image of a terrifying demonic visage -it's horrid lips set into a permanent snarl. The pill was hot; though not enough to burn it clearly smoldered with a sinister heat. These particular pills were formed after she'd scrapped Parker's dried blood off the bottom of one of her cauldrons and used it in her alchemy. Blood was rather thick with a person's DNA and thus, these pills had come out the best out of all the ones she'd made, and she'd also managed to produce the most of them.

She placed the pill back into its bowl, and moved to the right, turning her attention to the set of pills in the middle. Within that bowl were two pills, with ghastly purple coloration, and faintly shaped like swords. They seemed to flicker in and out of existence appearing...spectral. They had no scent, nor did they effuse heat. These pills had been made from the scant traces of Lucas' saliva that'd been left on the bowl he'd been drinking from. She was particularly eager to see the effect that these would have upon being crushed into a powered or liquefied into a paste.

The last set of pills were -of course- from Pari, and they were by far the oddest in appearance. The pills were rectangular, like miniature playing cards, though given their size they instead appeared to be rather slim squares of bubblegum. Upon their surfaces were the flittering images of Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, and Clubs, constantly switching from one suit to the other -unsure of which they wanted to be. One thing was certain though, they were Jokers. If the fancy subscripted 'J' imprinted in their right, upper corner wasn't enough of a clue, the pills emitted unsettling laughter, quivering as they did so. It was a jovial kind of laughter, but any laughter stemming from an inanimate object became rather queer by default.

Having quite a limited number of pills, Gweneira hadn't been able to bear testing one of the pills beforehand, but the simulation presented the perfect opportunity to do so. This time, the mad scientist couldn't help herself, she threw her head back and cackled...

Gwenerys

Perhaps not the calmest, but certainly the most casual of the triplets, Gwenerys casually strolled through the field and towards the first bag of dodgeballs she saw. She popped open the bag and immediately stuck her hand into it, rubbing all over the dodgeballs until she'd left her mark on every single one of them. As she straightened her back, a satisfied expression plastered itself onto her lips. Grasping two dodgeballs, one in each arm, she raised them above her head, and simply dropped them. Rather than obey the universal law of gravity, the dodgeballs hovered in mid-air, before circling the youngest of the triplets protectively, staying more towards her rear.

With an arrogant, I'vealreadywonthiswholethingsojustgiveupnow look in her eyes, and a shit-eating smug grin on her face, she proudly walked through the field, daring anyone to take a crack at her. After a short moment of walking, the girl abruptly froze mid-stride. Her face flickered with realization. While strutting around like this was rather show-offish, she could be faaaar more ostentatious, right? Her eye gleamed as they fell onto the bag of dodgeballs beside her. "Walking is for peasants, this Queen shall move in style!" A disdainful smile on her face, she dumped the bag of dodgeballs onto the ground and got to work.

Several moments later a throne of dodgeballs floated through the air. Atop the throne was Gwenerys, her legs crossed and her elbow resting on a dodgeball. If her expression before was simply cocky, her expression now was almost contemptuous, and clearly self-satisfied. Quite pleased with her own unparalleled genius, she'd set her chin to rest upon the palm of one of her arms. The majestic traveling carpet of dodgeballs levitated her across the field as the obvious Queen of this stadium stalked her first prey, revelling in her own magnificence.

Parker had continued to duck and weave through the shifting pillars and arches as fast as he could, scooping up a bag of dodgeball as he moved into the center of the battlefield. After making his way through the concrete jungle, he finally reached what he had been looking for. A circular area surrounded by massive structures on all sides came into view. It was empty, void of life. Nothing moved, nothing except for the boy clad in pitch black armor.

"Alright... I can go wild in here." Parker smirked to himself.

He closed his eyes, activating his quirk and preparing himself. Power flowed through him, his clothes wavered as he felt his body strengthen itself. He could feel the flame inside of him surge up, the wicked horns growing from his head. Black flames erupted around his wrists and lower arms. Finally, Parker opened his eyes to reveal the black smoke slowly billowing around them.

"OKAY YOU BASTARDS! COME GET ME! I'LL PUT YOU IN THE GROUND!"

Having decided the jawbreaker was inadequate, Pari began cramming her face with sweets, some kind of reaction fueled part by nervousness, part by excitement. The air was buzzing with energy, and the apprehension was palpable. Catching. As the countdown began, her eyes flit back and forth across the 'playground', an arena to whose beat they will all be captive. A game; this game has brought them together in this circumstance, and all were geared to fight. Armed to the teeth; predatory eyes of a cat; spectral links. This was the world of their quirks.

And all too soon they were off; each of them an arrow let loose. "Woo!" With a little whoop, Pari set her own plan into action. A stray card made a beeline for the dodgeballs, as she took a flying leap into the playground. She didn't gauge her timing right at the first go, so her knee scraped the floor- and she was off. The six of spades, the one who had taken the grit of the ground seemed disgruntled, but by god the rest of the cards were cooperating. She was flying. By simultaneously controlling each card attached to her body, each slightly differently, she could urge them forward in any direction in her three-dimensional world, and she would follow. Or rather, be carried. In her little paper prison, she reigned supreme.

The stray card had located a bag, and by first shrinking to slip in by one of the slots and then expanding, it essentially trapped the mesh around itself, and flew right off after its dealer. Pari could feel it greeting her as it approached, and reached out for the bag. As long as her card carried it, she was not bound by its weight; it was her mind that bore it - effortlessly, one might add. She could feel that it had weight, but not how much, and hence had no physical restriction on wielding her card or the bag it carried. And considering how she had little to no throwing power, she would have to rely on trajectories and dodging any incoming missiles. She had to try to outlast her competition. And these - she gave the bag a pat of comraderie and she could sense the card's disappointment at its load - were her weapons of...hehe, her weapons of mass deflection.

Daisuke had a smirk, as he observed from his perched position on top of one of the barriers below and noted several students who seemed to be strategically moving around on the field....and one who appeared to almost present themselves in the open as if screaming "hit me I am right here", which had been the taletale sign of a trap.

Something that normally had not been a deterrent to someone like Daisuke. As he wrapped several of the dodgeballs around in his chaims and seemed to take aim at the bold student....before his side glance noted Asami as she seemed to be trying to hide with a lone dodgeball which caused him to smirk.

Okay, first I take out scales. Then the others.
Daisuke had a smirk as he glanced down at where he vaguely saw Asami's figure, as the balls he had wrapped around his chains began to spin rapidly. End over end over end over Daisuke's head as this simulate motion seemed to simulate the mechanics of a pitching machine. And sure enough, dodgeballs rained down toward Asami from above at high speeds as Daisuke aimed for the most literal of strike outs.

Asami had been hidden behind a barrier, as she observed and tried to spot out other students to keep a track of before her ears picked up a woosh sound, which as Asami turned the source caused her eyes to widen as she saw dodgeballs fly for her head at high speeds as they seemed to have been fired from the air somehow.

Asami was quick to react, as she held her defensive dodgeball out and used it as a shield as she began to block the dodgeballs shot at her. Asami had her teeth grit as she knocked away each and every dodgeball in the first wave before she dashed to the side. As she aimed to find a new hiding spot while she kept an eye for that shooter and other students.

Daisuke scowled, as he picked up more dodgeballs in his pile he had taken and began to wind up his chains again for the second wave. All the while his eyes had never left Asami even as she changed locations and worked to dodge spikes along the way.

You won't get away from me!

Gwenrhian

Although it was usually considered courteous to stay out of the business of others, when they asked so nicely like Parker did, it would instead be a disservice to ignore them. That being said, as Gwenrhian parkour-ed overhead, her sensitive ears caught wind of Parker's desire for combat and she was simply more than happy to oblige. Vaulting from earthen structure to stone structure she made her way atop on the the land forms surrounding Parker's location. No sooner than her feet had touch the ground, a dodge ball had already left her bag and was in mid-air.

Folding her whip, she swung it through the air, the loop formed by the prehensile weapon accurately snagged the dodge ball. Two spins on the heels of her boots gathered enough momentum, and without another moment's hesitation, she let the ball loose, not towards Parker but rather one of the walls near to him. Because she'd swung the ball while spinning, the ball flew off at an angle, just enough to allow it to ricochet off the wall and towards her opponent.

Gwenerys

As the one true Queen reigning high above the other hapless students, Gwenerys naturally wouldn't allow anything like a peasant uprising, which is exactly what she interpreted Pari's replica of her floating castle. Almost slighted by the girl's ability to copy her grandiose style and bearing, the youngest white haired triplet flexed her quirk, her castle of dodge balls ascending, once again placing her above all the other students.

However, now with something quite unpleasant to the eye occurring right in front of her, Gwenerys had found her first task of this dodge ball match. There could only be one floating castle, the sky hadn't enough room for two suns. She moved to confront her rival with all due haste, dodge balls zipping through their air, the liege a top their round figures.

"Well, well, well, I hadn't expected to see someone challenge me...up here."

Her voice was challenging, smugly so, and as if to accentuate her point, 4 dodge balls broke off from their brethren, orbiting Gwenerys' throne of dodge balls like guided missiles.

Parker looked up as he heard the gentle footsteps of someone landing on the concrete structures that surrounded him. He took a step backwards, shifting his body to the left so that the ball flung directly at him barely missed his chest. The figure cloaked in black and red flames unsheathed his blade, swinging his right arm outwards with the sword. The ball that had been ricocheted off the wall was easily sliced in half, the two sides spinning violently to either side of his body.

"One of the three nuisances, huh?" Parker snarled, his mouth curling into a slight grin. "You know, I was hoping for a bit more of a challenge... but I appreciate you sacrificing yourself to me like this."

The boy ran forward, leaping off one of the lower stone towers and onto the ledge of another. He jumped up, quickly grabbing onto a taller structure and pulling himself onto it, running towards Gwenrhian when he got up.

Gwenrhian

'Eh? what about the dodge balls?'

With sword in his right hand, and another hand used to pull himself over the ledge, the spit-fire boy seemed to have left his dodge-balls behind in favor of a more direct and gritty approach. straight combat. Truth be told, Gwenrhian was perfectly fine with that, in fact, she even preferred it. Reaching towards her waist she pulled out her roll of steel-thread, whisking out several strands of the material and weaving them between her fingers.

Moving forward, the white-haired teen launched into a series of acrobatic flips, gaining herself enough 'bounce' to, as Parker ran past, vault over his head. She allowed the threads some length, letting them trail below her, and en route to entangle her opponent.

Parker could barely take a step forward before the white haired girl had gotten behind him and wrapped his legs in steel-thread. He quickly heated up his body, weakening the thread before his legs erupted in shadow fire. The steel-thread turned to cinders and ash at his feet, and the smoke around his eyes grew darker.

She's got the advantage in speed and agility... The demonic boy thought to himself in the heat of the moment. But all I have to do is land a good hit or two and she'll be out.

Parker's left arm ignited, the fire quickly taking the shape of a kite shield. He slammed his sword and shield together, releasing a wicked thundering sound and a flash of shadow fire.

His mouth once again turned to a grin. Just gotta stand my ground and look for an opening. Find her weakness.

As the shadow of the approaching menace loomed over Pari, she stopped her cursory scan of the area and looked up to meet the eyes of the troublemaker. Having made quite the first impression at the entrance exam, Pari was loathe to accept them as a classmate and potential fellow future Hero. Deserters and campers were not taken to well. And strictly speaking in game terms, she was reluctant to engage this early as well. And the worst opponent too. This wasn't something she could win by attrition, owing to their similar quirks. When two DPSs clash, it usually ends with a draw, both heavily damaged. Except here, all they have is a single point of HP. The prize goes to the first striker. Pari warily watched the triplet (she couldn't tell who it was, r.i.p gg) cautiously drifting in a circle around the girl and her.... what was that she was riding on? A throne of dodgeballs?

"Hey, calm down now," She raised her empty palms up, tilting her head disarmingly. The game had begun. "Remember, in a deck, there are 4 queens!" As though on cue, the four cards dropped out of her pockets, mimicking the orbiting movement of the dodgeballs around Gwenerys, but also constantly facing the opponent as though to ascertain she knew for sure they were queens (the giant red and black 'Q's shone unnervingly).

Inwardly, Pari was sweating bullets. This was a gamble she was taking; if the cards who had separated themselves from her body were no longer counted as armour, surely the same was applicable to the dodgeballs around the girl before her? What if it wasn't? It would simultaneously disqualify them both, and Pari despised a game clinched too early. She moved the mint cream candy from one cheek to another, eyes thoughtful. If the opponent was thinking the same thing, why would she try engaging at all? Surely she was as much of a pest to her as she was to Pari? More importantly, was her throne considered armour? It was more ornamental than anything, really, but it was in contact with her body. A self-inflicted disadvantage? Or did it serve to confuse others? It sure was confusing her. The only notable advantage Pari had over Gwenerys, was the ability to change her cards' size, and that one perk allowed her to slowly start formulating a plan...

Gwenrhian

'Hmmm...'

Her opponent's stance was a clear indication of his defensive approach to this battle, and while Gwenrhian didn't mind prying at a turtle to get to the juicy meat beneath it's shell, she would lose all her dodge balls to Parker's flames long before that happened. She stared intently, noticing the flicker of his pupils, and the angle at which he held his blade and shield. Once she was sure he was looking at her, she sprung into motion a short charge forward, which quickly turned into a feint as she jumped backward, spinning into a somersaults as she rapidly cleared the distance between her body and the edge of the plateau they stood on. Within seconds she was flipping over the edge, gravity sinking it's attractive paws into her body as she plummeted. She pulled a pair of Nunchaku from her thigh, and with a twist the chain between them came loose. She threw both ends lightly into the air, so they stalled above her descending body. Rapidly, she whipped out two metallic spear tips, and with a flash of motion she grabbed the nunchaku ends and fixes the sharpened edges onto them.

She'd moved with practiced skill, having completed her task by the time she'd fallen half-way down the cliff-face. Gripping both nunchaku-turned-stakes, she stabbed them into the rock wall gradually slowing her descent. With her stakes pinning her to the wall she scrambled across its surface.

Gwenerys

"4 Queens? Preposterous, there are three fakes!" A look of something fierce plastered onto her face, Gwenerys snarled, "Ar Warchod Fy Annwyl!!", which in English would've roughly translated to En guard my dear! The dodge balls scattered, the girl dropping from her position. Four balls harkened onto her appendages, sticking themselves to the palms of her hands and the soles of her feet. Focusing her Quirk she was able to keep herself afloat with only those 4 dodgeballs. The rest drew slow looming spirals in the air, seeking for positions with which to strike.

Asami continued to dodge or block the dodgeball barrage that came at her from Daisuke's relentless pursuit. She used her lone ball or tail to block and bounce the balls away from her as they scattered across the field; though this had done nothing to detour Daisuke who kept his relentless rapid fire barrage going from his elevated position. Determined to get rid of Asami with gleeful, single-minded focus which only made things more difficult for Asami.

This is bad, I-I can't keep this up forever. I need to find cover but that won't stop Daisuke for long. I need to get his focus elsewhere, and I think I have an idea!

Asami had glanced over to another of the students, Gwenerys, and noted she seemed to be making preparations of their own. If Asami could get those two to clash with each other. As Asami ran from Daisuke's barrage she began to chug some of her water bottles on hand as she stored the water in her gut. She then took a deep breath....

Woosh!
Asami shot water from her mouth against one of the risen platforms, which acted as a hydro pump as it pushed her body like a rocket through the air while the dodgeballs Diauske launched with his chains missed her. Daisuke adjusted his aim and tried to drive his multiple dodgeballs into Asami but she rocketed just past them as she flew behind Gwenerys as inevitably the dodgeballs Daisuke fired with reckless abandoned would target her and her dodgeballs. A volley of them rained down towards Gwenerys as Asami's water ran dry and she quickly dashed behind a platform.

"You can't escape me scales! I'll eliminate the whole field if I have to to make sure you go!"
