Rinku

A human that acts like a demon...no self righteous BS? Now THIS is a development.

Sensing the passive competitive fire that burned vividly between them, Rinku closed his eyes, laughing a bit to himself. Weevil knew he was playing with fire, and he didn't care. Something about staring danger head on and not budging impressed Rinku, at least a bit.

"Heh, you got gumption for a human." Rinku commented, approaching Weevil, opening his eyes, revealing a look like that of a child with a water hose, about to flood an ant hill. "But something tells me those bones of yours snap just as easy."

Kirin
Shit.

The falling rubble cut her off as Neph intended, forcing the priestess to come to a stop. Kirin was quick to leap over the obstacle, though she was too late - Mystical Fire had already been casted, sweeping through the area with the clear objective of setting the building ablaze. With little time to act, she used Arc Chain to warp to a talisman stuck to the ceiling, just a little further ahead, holding her arm out.

It was very close, but she'd managed to barely grab onto Neph's leg as she made her escape, flying upward at great speeds to avoid a fiery death. The Pokémon caught onto this quickly, however, conjuring a psychic blast down at Kirin, whose blade managed to block the attack. And so Neph fired again, and again, and again - until one of the blasts finally slipped past her guard, knocking the Adept off and into the rapidly swelling inferno below.

A wave of heat washed over her, blinding flames consuming her vision, a great concussive force slamming into Kirin before she lost consciousness.

...

She could hear debris shifting and falling apart as she came to. Kirin groaned as she opened her eyes, vision gradually reducing in blurriness as she managed to focus. She could barely see the sky through a few holes in the debris above her, having piled up around and over her, almost like an igloo of scrap. The pain she was feeling slowly worsened as she began to feel each burn, cut and bruise across her body - it was a miracle she'd managed to survive that explosion. How dumb of her, rushing into a dangerous area like that...

How could she lead the Dragon Saviors if she fell for such simple tricks?

She forcibly pushed her self-doubting aside as she reminded herself that she was still in the battle. Mustering up the strength to keep on fighting, the Battle Priestess found herself unable to stand - her right leg was pinned under the rubble, and she could only hope it wasn't broken. Her left seemed to be mostly fine, and her weapon was within arm's reach, though its blade was snapped in half. The pouch attached to her waist was open, Kirin reaching into it.

What she pulled out was a vial containing a swirling, softly glowing liquid. The Special Potion. Quite possibly her only way to turn the tides. It felt strange to have to rely on it considering she didn't even know what it did, but she had no choice. If she wanted to keep fighting, keep learning, keep pushing forward... She had to be willing to take risks.

"Here goes...!"

Kirin chugged the potion down, hoping for the best.

Cayman
"Alright!" Cayman grinned, a crimson light washing over him, covering him in his battle armor. His now yellow eyes locked onto Knuckles's own, the Adept flexing as heat emanated from his body.

"Show me what you've got."

The moment Chai was done speaking, the muscular Adept lunged forward, throwing two straight punches in quick succession before performing a stomp. This would cause a powerful eruption to burst from below, clearly intending on overwhelming his opponent's guard!

Pit
"Not at all! Hopefully..."

Choosing to play it on the safer side despite his fighting words, Pit unleashed a barrage of quick energy arrows, each one bathed in a blue light. Fjorrd seemed like a super buff guy at first glance, so he wasn't too confident in going melee against this guy just yet. Pit's shots curved through the air as they flew, homing in slightly onto the nord.

Arrows alone probably wouldn't knock that tooth out, though.

Grazie
Grazie landed on her soft sand pile, unaware of the danger it now posed to her as she stood atop it, eyeing down the far away, smiling Axe. Grabbing her staff, the Adept spun it in front of herself before letting it rest at her side, spiked balls of sand forming from the pile and hovering in front of her.

"How'd ya like that, Axey? Quite strong even without sand, eh?" She boasted quite unnecessarily, perhaps because she knew Mister Zeddy was watching her fight. "Let's see how ya handle th--"

BOOM!

The firecracker finally went off, blasting sand everywhere as Grazie was sent flying upward, a trail of smoke following her trajectory. Soon enough, the Adept landed back on the bridge with a thud, covered in soot, her lower armor noticeably cracked. The Knight of ATEMS looked up at Axe, and she didn't seem quite as playful anymore.

"Urgh... That's it! Ya asked for it!"

Rising back to her feet, Grazie raised her staff above her, spinning it furiously as she began to hover upward. Axe would surely recall the last match at the sight of this, a plethora of sand particles swirling around the Adept of Sandstorm, forming a fierce tornado that threatened to pull her opponent in.

O grand earth, cornerstone of life
Adorn me in your unshakeable armor
Bestow me with your crushing might

"SANDSTOOORM EMPEROOOR!!"

The sand cyclone vanished as Grazie roared, revealing her far more powerful mech armor. The drills on her limbs revved to life as she dropped down from high above, landing on the bridge with enough force to cause the earth to shake. This also caused a wave of large spiked sand pillars to burst outward, threatening to stab into Axe or send him flying!

Audrey Redheart
"Don't call me that, freak-" Before Audrey could finish her retort, Troy's attack came, and she swung her blade to block the attack...But she wasn't attempting to merely crush it to the ground, no. She was forcing the electricity to shoot out her blade through the weapon.

"Besides, don't you know? The HERO always wins!" She scowl-shouted out, a very un-heroic expression on her face.

Axe
"Uh, yeah, real strong without the sand..." Axe winced as he saw the explosion from his firecracker. As he saw Grazie get up, he slowly raised his shield, only to be surprised as he saw and heard the sandy tornado that attempted to pull him in. He extended his pickaxe into the ground, improving his footing and keeping him in place...
Until his eyes lit up seeing the bridge shake and the sand coming for him. Spiked sand.
"Again!?" He muttered to himself, at first considering running for it, but it was coming too fast for it. Another consideration was powering through it, but it did look very sharp, to say the least.
Still, that didn't leave him out of options, clearly. Another green flash came and went, though for some reason Axe felt like he was draining the green stone faster than usual, as when he reappeared behind Grazie once the attack was finished, he noticed the Green Stone's shine was starting to fade faster than usual.
That wasn't a good sign. Still, he put on a brave face.
"Hey, that was your best move, yeah?" He decided to quip, moving to whack his shield into Grazie's back. Maybe that quip gave him away, but the kid wanted to feel cool, plus it took his mind off the stone.

Masaru Takahara
As the smoke came up, Masaru was quick to stop his momentum with a quick stomp in the ground, feeling his enemy's blade graze his thigh. At first, the warrior assumed his foe was there, but was quick to realise Taskmaster was keeping on the move, and so he kept his ear open. When he heard something being thrown, he turned and threw a punch straight towards it...Only to catch his fist in a stunning electric bola.
"Sh-" Suddenly, he was cut off as electricity jolted his body, keeping him stunned in position.
Can't...Move...
Gotta...FOCUS!

Suddenly, the bola slowly fell, and Masaru's eyes lit up as though he just felt empowered, the electricity from the bola seeming to exit his system entirely. And it seemed Taskmaster's previous attacks were affecting even less of him now.
"HRAH!" He yelled out as his hand shot out with surprising speed, aiming with a direct palm towards Taskmaster's upper chest.
"Celestial Palm!"

The Warlock
As Dart called him out his attempt to hide, The Warlock felt two things; Anger, an emotion he'd felt plenty of in the past, and Fear, one he was much less familiar with. He'd felt it as a child, when ADVENT had come to bring him to his destined power, when he was a fool, but this...was different. The sword wound in his chest wasn't helping matter, and despite his clear resistance to mental effects, there was a voice picking up in his head from...whatever that blade had done to him on impact. Not just a voice, voices. The common great weakness of all Psionics; Insanity.
"I...I WILL DESTROY YOU!" The Warlock's voice screamed out, loud enough that hordes of Lost began to converge on the pair, though given the sheer size of the city it would certainly take a moment as he jumped down behind Dart as the Dragoon was looking around. "HUMANS! YOUR PATHETIC KIND, ALWAYS PUSHING ME FROM MY DESTINY!" The voices in his mind were screaming Kill, kill, and kill again, and no matter what sound part of his mind, if there was any, told him not to listen, the pain was simply unbearable.
"YOUR PUNISHMENT IS THE VOID OF DEATH!" If one could call him loud before, now he was just ridiculous. But more Psionic energy seemed to flood out of his hand, circling Dart in a vortex like pattern as sheer psionic power forced itself onto Dart, before exploding in a blast of pure energy centered on the warrior;
The most powerful technique of a Psionic - The Void Rift that took the very facility the Warlock was once 'raised' in as a child.

KASSANDRA

Nicks and marks, Arachne's Stinger's venom ate through the points of contact, leaving exposed points in Alter's full-body armor. As the lightning bolt came down, Kassandra raised her shield. It struck Alter, the force knocking the misthios back. Her heels skid along the ground, but she remained sturdy as her opponent charged in full of zeal, a protective aura of blue energy filtering around her.

The woman struck, barrier-first, but in that amount of time, Kassandra had traded the shield and stinger out for something a little more blunt, a little less pragmatic.

The Hammer of Hades met the woman and her barrier, but not as a direct blow. Holding it like a pole, the shield and hammer made contact. Upon initial impact, Kassandra slid back a few more inches - before she started to push back. Flames roared from the hammer's head, flickering the barrier as the misthios pushed back, her lips pulling into a slight smirk, before she suddenly slid to the side, allowing the Knight's forward momentum to carry her, possibly forcing her to stumble. Kassandra twirled the heavy hammer about, and slugged it for the back of Alter, an explosion of flame and heat blasting from the impact point. Regardless if the barrier held, or broke, she would use the inertia of the bounce-back from the explosion to swing the hammer with even more tenacity than before from a different angle.

NEPHTHYS

The gardevoir hovered for several moments over the ruins of the factory. It had gone up in flames, and seemingly Kirin along with it - and yet, despite the calm after, no fanfare played. No gateways opened. Her opponent had somehow not succumbed to the absolution of such a trick. Neph drew in a deep breath, trying to calm herself at this revelation. This was far more difficult than she'd been anticipating. She'd tried to do the thinking ahead part, but clearly it hadn't panned out.

...If her trainer was here... He'd know what to do, when to do it.

Maybe that was what she was missing. Despite the mundane direction their lives had taken, in battle, they'd always been a team. It wasn't that he told her what to attack with, but it was that he knew exactly how to fight the opponent. Neph was intelligent, undoubtedly, but she wasn't a strategist like him. On the flipside, he couldn't do the things she could. Disregarding the fact he was human and she Pokémon for a moment, he would certainly not fit well on her spot in their dynamic. And as she was figuring out, she wasn't fitting well into his spot, either.

...That's why they'd never gone solo.

They were a team.

A melancholic regret settled in over the gardevoir as she slowly lowered to the ground. What was her trainer doing? At first, she'd doubted the notion he would miss her, but in her clearer, nostalgic mind, she began to fear that he was worried sick for her. They'd been partners for most of their lives. To up and vanish...

Neph began to feel like a lost child in a grocery store.

However, when she touched upon the charred ground, outside movement removed her from her thoughts. The gardevoir's eyes darted to the left, catching sight of something she certainly wouldn't have missed had she been more alert, not so wrapped up in her own mind.

Kirin, gulping down some kind of a drink. A healing solution, perhaps? No way was that fair.

The gardevoir raised her arm. Kirin wasn't in a good position. This could be rapidly ended with a simple little nudge.

The wreckage atop Kirin's began to heavily roll over, threatening to crush the priestess beneath its immense weight. And yet, just as it collapsed upon her with what should have been a concluding, earth-shaking thud... still no fanfare. Still no gateway. Still no victory.

Beneath the wreckage, Kirin had survived. The Special Potion's unknown and potent effects taking hold - but there seemed to be a faint, robotic cackle in the wind, sounding eerily like the deranged salesman who'd given her the potion.

FJORRD

"HAHAHA!"

The nord boomed his laughter as the arrows came sailing in. He moved forward with a bravado and confidence most men couldn't exude, his ice-coated fists swinging with a sudden ferocity, smashing against several the arrows and dissipating them. However, a fair few managed to land - only to seem like they were small rocks hitting an ogre, as they punched against his armor and expelled their energy, the dragonborn barely even seeming to notice any had gotten past his fists.

He continued to walk toward Pit, rolling his shoulders as he did. "Surely that's not all!" He challenged.

DART

"-WILL DESTROY YOU!"

"Ah! There you are! I've been looking all over-" Dart set the blade of Mind Crush on his shoulder as the Warlock descended upon him.

"YOUR PATHETIC KIND, ALWAYS PUSHING ME FROM MY DESTINY!"

"Hey, I'm not the one taking a friendly tourn-"

"YOUR PUNISHMENT IS THE VOID OF DEATH!"

"'Devoid of death?' Or 'the void of death?' Actually, only the second one makes sen-"

For a third time, Dart was interrupted. This time, by the swirling vortex of psychic energy. It engulfed him from all sides, and he took a cautious step back as he readied his weapon. This was a new attack... but despite the screaming of the Warlock, he seemed to finally be taking this fight seriously. The mercenary swung when he saw the vortex rapidly closing in on him, and-

PTHOOOOM!!

The street was reduced to pebbles, and cars were sent hurtling away as scrap metal, the explosion catching Dart at its epicenter.

Yet as the smoke and dust began to clear, it revealed the Red Warrior. He was collapsed on his hands and knees, shoulders hunched with heavy breaths. Mind Crush lay before him, split in two. "Uff, that was... pretty good..." Dart commented, bringing one of his legs, placing his knee to his chest and pushing himself back to his feet.

Given the state of their surroundings, Dart's condition was better than one might have expected. It appeared that Mind Crush had taken the brunt of the attack. Yet as he stuck out his arm, Mind Crush vanished in a burst of white light, and through emerald flames, Heat Blade appeared back in his hand, the sword gleaming with raw energy. He could feel his building dragoon energy within. Not quite where it needed to be, yet, but near enough that he had little worries about how this fight was going.

"Not good enough, though!" Dart flashed a grin as he burst forward, dragging Heat Blade's tip across the ground, creating a trail of flames, before he slashed upward. A burst of fire swelled toward Warlock, and using that to disorient the Mindripper, Dart kicked off the ground, leading with a horizontal slash aimed for the Warlock's abdomen.

Ryuji
Man, his weapon hasn't connect once. But well, he had other ways to bring the pain.
His persona proved itself to be one, knocking Nott forward with it's attack. She took advantage of the momentum however, and attempted to grapple Ryuji!
The teen brought his arms up, but Nott proved quick, managing to wrap her arm around Ryuji's neck while the other went attacked his head. But Ryuji refused to toppled. The teen was sturdy enough normally, but his glowing state meant he would be even harder to knock over! Ryuji kept Nott's elbow strikes from his head by shielding it with his arm as he struggled against the The Princess's weight.
"Urk! You're tough!" Ryuji said between grunts. "But I'll show you I'm tougher! William!"
William raised its arms, buffing Ryuji's-and by extension its own-attack through Tarukaja. His strength increased, Ryuji would retaliate with a elbow strike of his own into Nott's ribs.
Meanwhile, William would continue to put the pressure on Moon-Wing and its master, repeatedly bouncing its ship off the bird as if it was doing skateboard tricks.

Alter Knight
Kassandra resisted against her charge with her weapon, a massive hammer smoking with what she presumed was fire mana. Kassandra pushed against Alter until she smirked and gave way to the knight. The shift is movement surprised the knight, but she dug her heel into the floor and twirled, meeting Kassandra's sneak attack with her shield. The blue energy covering it shined brightly as the hammer struck, before it faded away.
The force of clash blew Alter Knight back somewhat. But as Kassandra came in for the second strike, Alter threw her weapon to meet Kassandra's mid-swing, which would burst with blue mana.

Nótt

Skull wasn't going down. Even as Nótt put all her weight and strength into bringing the human down, he managed to stand strong! The teen glowed, and his elbow smashed into her side. Even with the glancing blow and awkward angle, Nótt felt one of her ribs snap. She gasped in pain, but kept a tight grip on Skull. This glow, it must be similar to the technique he used in their last match that briefly powered up their strength. It was enough that Nótt found herself being pushed back by the Phantom Thief!

William continued to whale on Moon-Wing. The eagle squawked and screeched, some of its metal wings beginning to drop off from the phantom's assault. Even so, Moon-Wing barely managed to keep his blows from directly hitting Nótt.

This was going a little more poorly than Nótt had hoped. She had been unable to utilize her choice of the map to her advantage. Their strength was on equal terms (at least, that's what Nótt told herself. In the back of her head, she wasn't as sure...).

In an explosive burst of speed and violence, Nótt acted. She dropped her lance and shifted her weight. Now that Skull was the one pressing on her, she attempted to use his strength and weight against him and pass the teen under her arm, sliding behind him and locking her arm around his neck in a chokehold. In the same moment, Moon-Wing launched itself off of Nótt's perch towards William. It gave no thought to its own defense, instead attempting to buy Nótt the millisecond she needed for her maneuver.

If her technique worked, Nótt would once again throw her body weight onto Skull, instead focusing it all on his neck and the back of his knees and attempt to entangle their legs. This would hopefully have the result of pulling Skull down on top of her and bringing the two to the ground. If pure strength wasn't enough to bring Skull down, Nótt would try technique.

Weevil Underwood

Weevil's suspicions were confirmed. The bug duelist grinned. He didn't seem intimidated at all by Rinku's expression, instead regarding the kid demon like child getting ready to tear the wings off a fly.
"You'll have to get to them first, now won't you?" Weevil said. There was something familiar about this kid. He felt a strange kinship...

"Well, it was nice meeting you Rinku. Let me know if you're interested in that trade." Weevil said. He chuckled and walked back to the Regular Burger. If he still had to wait for the weird coin store to open, might as well get some food and keep watching the matches.

KASSANDRA

The blue mana erupted, countered by the eruption of fire from the hammer's blunt end, resulting in both weapons bouncing back as the women's teeth rattled from the concussive burst, but in a second, their weapons matched again. Another explosion boomed between them with the collision, then a third, fourth, and fifth consecutive "boom" as their weapons met with zeal.

The misthios then pulled a surprising move. She suddenly swung her body to the side, and Alter's mana-coated blade collided with the lion's head on Kassandra's shoulder, striking the Fleece of Jason. The energy dispelled over its surface, as though evenly distributed across its length. While the eruption did seem to buckle Kassandra's legs, she held, using this momentary distraction to swing the Hammer of Hades in a wide backwards uppercut in the brief moment Alter Knight had unintentionally left herself open. If the hammer failed to blast Alter away with its eruption, Kassandra's leg would strike outward, extending its full length to ram her heel into the knight and send her away.

Immediately following this, Kassandra used the carried and reversed momentum of the hammer from the explosion to swing it heavily against a massive gear just off the beaten path of earth and stone underfoot. The eruption dislodged the gear from the mechanism it had been attached to, and it landed with a thud on the ground, starting to roll - before the True Keeper swung the Hammer of Hades one last time, catching it in one of the gears holes, and carrying it in a wide, sweeping arc, before releasing it to hurl toward Alter Knight.

Kassandra could feel her charges continuing to build within her. She was nearly at three.

Kirin
*Your DF rose to 9999.

She... She was alive! That salesman wasn't lying, the potion truly was special! Kirin couldn't help but smile at this development. If this potion's effects worked like one of Shiron's video games, then it seemed to boost her "DF" - her defense stat. While she was still in a ton of pain, it seemed it had an added boon of mitigating it somewhat, something very convenient now that she could take more hits.

It didn't do anything to directly get her out from under this pile of rubble, but beggars couldn't be choosers.

A purple glow engulfed the piece of wreckage that had just been dropped on her, and in a moment -

SWOOSH!

She had Arc Chained on top of the pile, broken weapon in hand. Neph's trap had visibly damaged her to a great extent, body still covered in burns and scrapes, some smoke from the explosion still in her lungs, causing her to cough. At least her legs weren't broken. Looking down on her opponent, Kirin smirked, rubbing a little salt on the wound.

"Not going down that easy, y'know," she spoke smugly, raising her right hand to procure five glowing talismans. With a flick of her wrist, they were simultaneously tossed down at the Gardevoir, striking the ground around her. A wave of psychic energy burst from Kirin, causing each talisman to transform into a purple copy of her, each one going in for a quick slash of their blades.

She had a second chance, and like hell she was going to throw it away.

Pit
Am I even doing anything to this guy?!
Pit took another step back as he stopped firing, seeing as his arrows had little effect. He was going to have to go with something that hit a lot harder... even if it meant staying in melee range.

"Surely that's not all!" Fjorrd threatened, clearly wanting to see more.

"You have no idea!"

The angel reared his arms back as his Palutena Bow vanished... and it was replaced by a massive bat-like weapon, styled like a stone tower. The Babel Club. Lunging forward, Pit swung the huge club with surprising speed - it was meant to be light for its wielder while still packing a serious punch. It could even be enough to blindside the approaching Fjorrd!

Grazie
"Hey, that was your best move, yeah?"

Twirling around to block the shield bash with a pincer, Grazie was met with surprising force, causing her to skid backward. She was getting tired of the kid's teleporting...

"Best move?! Ya think that was anywhere near my best?!"

Leaping through the air, Grazie held both mechanical arms above her. The earth rumbled once more as a mix of sand and rock gathered above her, forming a massive boulder in an instant. The Adept then hurled it down at Axe, laughing maniacally as she watched it fly.

"This here rock's gonna leave ya right flat!"

Axe
Axe gave Grazie a very confident smirk, figuring he could handle whatever she'd throw it now. It...was probably faked, but with Kids you never know. He let her jump back as he readied his shield again, tightening his guard before seeming, to say the least, very surprised at the large boulder flew towards him.
"Oh yeah?!" He yelled back at Grazie, dropping his guard as he felt the red stone in his hand glowing again. "See, one thing you gotta know - Never try to beat me with power!" He added, the pickaxe extended out of his shield as he pointed it straight at the boulder for a second, before...!
SWING!
He swung out the blade in a straight line down, right before the rock could strike. From a moment, it split apart slowly with a small burst of flame, before it split around Axe and fell. The kid was sweating, but smiling.
"Told you so," He teased a little, taking a moment to bask in what he saw as a moment of awesome. Hopefully, he figured, Grazie would be shocked or intimidated.

The Warlock
After the blast, the now-seemingly-inept in mind Warlock was surprised to see Dart stand.
"Stay Back!" His voice screamed out once more, suddenly sounding like it wasn't just his own voice before his blinding rage was cut off by Dart's disorientating fire followed by a nigh-deadly strike to his abdomen, taking off a large chunk of his armor. He teleported once again with a yell of pain, appearing shortly behind Dart again, panting. At this distance, it was clear that there were little of his own thoughts running through the Warlock's head, even his eyes made that obvious.
"I...We...destroy..." As he trying to speak, a Lost swarm, dozens in numbers, began to approach from behind the Warlock. He couldn't see it coming, but it was straight behind him. It was enough Lost that even the most tactical of warriors would struggle to not be overwhelmed.

Alter Knight
Kassandra took the blow, though it seemed like the fleece on her shoulder ate the majority of the force. That girl was certainly loaded with trinkets.
Well, it provided a brief distraction, enough for Alter to roll out of the hammer's way. Kassandra seemed to predict this though, and struck her with her heel mid-roll, forcing Alter back with a grunt. Alter bounced of the floor before recovering and landing on her feet, her face betraying no pain. It was a rough kick, but between that and the fire hammer, Alter was sure she got off easy. It would take more than that to take her down anyway.
As Alter recalled Libera to her, Kassandra smacked a gear out of the ground, launching it towards Alter, who responded by summoning her mana. Lighting bolts struck the gear, slowing its momentum as their blue glow steadily overpowering the burning flames that initially covered it until Alter struck it with Libera, sending it back towards the True Keeper.

Ryuji
"How's that for sloppy?" Ryuji jeered at Nott's gasp. But her grip remained tight, so she clearly wanted more.
Ryuji brought his elbow up for another attack, only for Nott to shift her position, messing with Ryuji's balance. Nott's movement proved effective, tripping Ryuji up and plopping the two on the ground. But Ryuji wasn't giving up yet. Far from it.
Moon-Wing had leapt towards his persona, spreading its wings defensively. It couldn't damage William, but the huge eagle kept it from being able to strike Nott with its skills.
Well, most of them. Though Moon-Wing could keep many of William's physical skills from Nott, magic wasn't off the table anymore.
Just as the two would land, William would use Ziodyne on their position, assaulting them with magic electricity from all around while Moon-Wing was occupied! Ryuji wouldn't be affected, but it would zap Nott and even inflict her with shock, causing her (scarily large) muscles to freeze up on top of adding extra technical damage once Ryuji would strike her to break feet from her grip.

Nótt

Lightning exploded around the pair, the same move that Skull had used before! But unlike before, Moon-Wing was no longer close enough to protect its master. The runes on the eagle's feather's glowed, and a purple sphere of energy appeared around the eagle. It protected the eagle from the majority of the attack, only dealing a little damage. Moon-Wing glanced over its shoulder and screeched, and continued to protect its master!

Nótt was not as lucky.

She screamed as the lightning struck her. Her muscles tightened and contracted involuntarily, drawing even tighter around Skull's neck and hopefully cutting off the artery in Skull's neck. By the ancestors, it was like taking the legendary Mjolnir spell at point-blank range! Even as the lightning faded, Nótt found herself unable to move or relax. She was paralyzed, stunned by the lightning attack. Even so, Nótt knew she just had to hold on. So the Princess clung tight around Skull's neck. If she had cut off bloodflow to his head, it would only be a few seconds more before he would fall unconscious...

Skull's fist smashed into her right arm. Nótt's armored gauntlet was crushed under the blow, but it was still powerful enough to loosen her grip on the phantom thief. He struggled to get up, but their legs were still entangled. And more importantly, Nótt found she could move again!
"Moon-Wing!" Nótt called out. She sat up as well, wrapping one arm around Skull's chest and trying to re-tighten her grip around his neck. Moon-Wing looked back to Skull and swooped down to the thief, attempting to sink its talons into Skull's chest and push the teen back into Nótt!

Taskmaster
The mercenary put away his blade- he needed something a bit more maneuverable if he was to keep ahead of his physically more powerful foe. Masaru came soaring out from the smoke with an attack Tasky had seen before: the Celestial Palm. He managed to catch Masaru's arm before it made contact with his chest, though his foe's raw strength pushed Taskmaster back a ways. The Strongest was starting to keep Masters on the backfoot, and that wasn't ideal. Taskmaster figured he'd seen enough, and it was time to turn it around.

"How many of those power moves do you have?"

The skull-faced supersoldier pushed away from his opponent and recalled his initiatory fight. His battle against that hollywood dickhead. He did have some nice moves, and one of those moves was Tasky's now. He did a backflip, aiming to catch Masaru in the chin with his boot as he performed Johnny Cage's Flippy Kick! Regardless of its success, he'd be carried into the air, and pull out a second move he'd picked up: the Spiral Knee. As his knee descended upon his foe, he pulled out his billy clubs to swing down at the Masaru as a coup de grâce before even touching the ground.

"'Cause it's not enough."

Mudkip
The water-type watched the weapon sail overhead, and sensed the impact and resulting landslide behind him. He quickly dove beneath the waves again, the water slowing the rocks dramatically before any damage could be done to Mudkip. The water was safe, but the salt was really beginning to irritate the Pokémon. So, haphazardly, the small amphibian leapt out of the water below Lucario, with a Rock Smash primed to strike the half-steel type!

Beam
"YEAH!"

Beam yelled again, and then dove into the ground to speed towards the restaurant. He got there before Dagr, and he immediately went beneath the table. However, as the jotunn princess entered and sat down herself, the fiend considered something he hadn't done before. A round ago, Dagr had given him crap for hiding beneath the table, but that was what the Public Safety people told him to do in public. It didn't seem like the Public safety people were here right now...

The shark devilman cautiously crept out of the ground, looking around for anyone made hostile by his appearance, but found none. The freedom reinvigorated him, and he leapt into the bench across from Dagr. As the warrior talked, Beam sat tense from the unfamiliar feeling, but a wide grin was plastered across his face.

"Is there any other food you like? Anything that's your favorite?"

Beam's reply wasn't very creative.

"MEAT! YES!"

Kragg
And that was it. As Kragg hefted himself over the edge, Bakura was on his knees, bleeding and meek. He figured this might be another trick, but the surrounding area began to fade to white, and they were transported to the lobby. He stared down at the duelist still, quiet. The boy wasn't nearly as dangerous as he presented himself, but the Wallrunner understood something now. Like the Gatekeeper, fear was Bakura's source of power over the beetle. They hid behind others, and when confronted directly, crumbled in the face of a true warrior's zeal. Having overcome this challenge, Kragg's confidence in his destiny was restored. The Earth's Bastion turned away from his defeated foe and proudly walked off.

Troy & Alli
Audrey brought up her legendary blade to clash with the Awakened Souledge. Though she was physically stronger than the cultist, she had another intention: to use her lighting to damage Allison again. However, as the electricity erupted from the broadsword, it glanced off the glowing energy carapace and haphazardly spewed the energy in different directions. The Vortex Orb expanded down Troy's arm to protect it, though the lighting was able to get a couple licks in before he did so.

"Haven't YOU heard, dull bitch? Heroes are chump change stacked against a god."

Scowling, the narcissist withdrew his arm, leaving the shuriken to be slung away by Audrey. He ducked the follow-through, and then jabbed his right fist forward, which would once again erupt in an attempt to knock the "hero" completely off the bridge.

"...You dig?"

NEPHTHYS vs KIRIN

Co-written w/ ArmedBlue

No... no, this shouldn't be the outcome. Even foresight couldn't have predicted this.

The priestess was raring to go again, appearing as though she were at death's door, yet acting nothing like it.

Hadn't they lost last round? Where had this unprecedented degree of endurance come from??

The gardevoir bared her teeth as her eyes narrowed into thin, angry slits. Volatile fissures of violent energy began to permeate from Nephthys' fists, curled tightly as energy crackled up and down her arms.

Kirin's jaunt was followed up with a swoosh of her arm, throwing five more talismen at the ground around the gardevoir. Another arc chain to gain a mobility edge? The answer was a resounding "no" as a burst of what Neph recognized as psychic energy swelled from Kirin, seemingly activating the talismen - and producing identical clones of the battle priestess.

They dashed in, closing in from all angels. Nephthys crossed her arms over her chest, the shuddering energy spitting sparks across her body. The Kirin Klones swung their blades - but a burst of power was expelled from the center mass of the gardevoir, violet psychokinesis shredding the klones like paper - though they seemed to be ready to dispel anyway.

Nephthys shot from the ground, leaving a cracking crater in her wake, a trail of lavender light departing an aggressive streak in the air, the gardevoir upon the priestess in a moment, her hands grabbing Kirin's neck. As the milliseconds slowly ticked by, they blasted through the remains of the warehouse, the air thundering with the sound of desperation. Neph held Kirin like a battering ram, slamming her through buildings, oil tanks, hillsides, and concrete walls, one after the other.

BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM!

The Pokémon throttled Kirin, before she swung them downward - and slammed the human into the earth, dragging her along. A shredded scar was traced along the ground as Kirin was buried in earth and stone, but the gardevoir refused to let go, her violent streak continuing as the ground gave way to magma - igniting their oil-drenched bodies.

Two flaming missiles streaked through the air, white bursts of air thudding from them as they blitzed through the sound barrier. Nephthys didn't care that her form was alight - she fully intended to destroy Kirin. She refused to come second again. She refused to be proven that she wasn't whole without her trainer.

She refused to lose.

The potion was being put to the test here - despite its potent effects, Kirin could feel each impact gradually chipping away at her body, the bright flames around the two filling their vision in a bright orange-red. No words needed to be exchanged for the intensity of their battle to be felt. Neph refused to stop her assault, while Kirin refused to go down.

It was an unstoppable force against an immovable object.

Grasping her red-hot blade as the two soared through another building, Kirin swung from below to target the arms holding her neck, but she was met with a powerful psychic barrier, attack bouncing right off. So she swung again, approaching from a different angle - a feint the enraged Gardevoir did not see coming, for the real attack was a knee to her chest. Neph's grip faltered ever so slightly, allowing Kirin to rear her head back, and when Neph attempted to grab her again...

CRACK!

Skulls cracked as their heads collided, the Adept taking advantage of her increased defense. Swordplay and talismans alone wouldn't cut it - she needed to stop relying on those tools. She needed to think outside the box, to push past her limits.

The gardevoir reeled back with a hiss, letting go of Kirin. While Neph slowed to a stop, Kirin was left to fly through the air - and crash through the side of another building. Her shoulder slammed into the interior wall once inside, and she dropped to the ground with a grunt. However, Nephthys didn't seem interested in giving either of them a breather. The flames that engulfed them had since died down during their blitz through the air, but it had left both combatants blackened and singed - the Pokémon more than the human.

The hole Kirin had left in the wall was greatly widened when the gardevoir crashed through it, a bubble of potent psychic energy around her to leave a circle-shaped hole in her wake, before she surged downward. Kirin raised her arms on principle, and the barrier connected with her palms. Kirin dropped to a knee as Nephthys pushed and pushed. The concrete began to crack beneath the heels of the priestess. The potion was helping, but the enraged Pokémon was giving every ounce of unbridled power she had.

Kirin grit her teeth as she was forced to the ground. If there was something Neph held over her at this point, it was raw power. In this kind of confrontation, the Pokémon would be sure to come out on top. There was no way to overpower Neph, but perhaps...

Perhaps she could close the gap through a different method.

As the ground continued to cave in beneath the fighters, a hazy purple energy began to flow outward from Kirin's body, engulfing both combatants completely as a series of strange symbols faded in and out of existence, earning Neph's attention. She'd seen that sort of energy earlier in their fight. Small amounts of it were in the priestess' talismans, yet its exact effects were never known to the gardevoir - until she felt the bubble around her weaken.

Kirin smirked through the pain. This was the aspect that made her such a reliable fighter against Primal Dragons: her Septima, Radiant Fetters. The ability to seal other Septimas, advanced forms of psychic power, something her opponent caught onto at this moment.

She was placing a seal on Nephthys.

The barrier began to flash and flicker, and the uncertainty that registered on Neph's face only encouraged Kirin. Combined with the seal, and the gardevoir's moment of shock, her power began to be locked away. Neph struggled to fight against the seal, but without understanding how it worked, she didn't know how to combat it, instead forced to watch as both her barrier finally fell - and then her own power beginning to ebb away.

She dropped to the ground, gritting her teeth as she strained her mind to fight back. The gardevoir had peered inside of the mind of the priestess many times now - yet Kirin had done well at hiding this power from Neph.

< I... can't... lose... >

Even her telepathic voice was strained as it projected outward.

She raised her arms toward Kirin, quickly casting Mystical Fire in an effort to stop the human.

The flames struck the Adept, who winced at the pain, feeling her own power wane slightly against Mystical Fire's effects. The sealing process slowed, but it continued steadily. Despite her body catching on fire again, Kirin felt like she could finally breathe, her opponent's strained psychic voice reaching her ears.

"I'm sorry," Kirin replied, crouching down in front of the Pokémon, "but you're not the only one trying to win here."

She couldn't help but feel bad for Neph. It showed in the way she fought, especially when caught by surprise - there was a lot on her mind, though it was something she wouldn't let on. There was a reason she wanted to win so desperately.

"Why..." the priestess asked, interrupted by a cough. "Why can't you lose?"

Neph's hands dropped to the ground as her power continued to be sealed, her shoulders heaving with the strain of the entire battle now weighing upon her.

<I... have to win... I have to... prove... to him... to ME...>

She looked back up at Kirin, the strain of trying to retain her power evident on her face, but as energy began to surge around her hands - it was quick to dissipate, the gardevoir's control waning exponentially.

"I don't know exactly what you're going through, but..." Kirin spoke, looking up at the destruction around them. "I think you've proven enough. You're incredibly capable all on your own, aren't you? Whatever it is that's holding you back..."

After a pause, she placed a hand on Neph's back to show support, concern etching her gaze.

"...wouldn't it be best to let it go?"

The gardevoir flinched at the touch, but the loss of her psychic power was simultaneously a drag on her physical ability, and she was unable to move away, or react further. She bared her teeth stubbornly, eyes filled with a crimson defiance.

<You don't... know... I CAN'T... just...>

Her defiance seemed to waver, before she collapsed further, her helmet colliding with the ground as her body began to give out under her. This time, her shoulders began to shake with something other than exhaustion. It took Kirin only a second or two to realize her opponent had devolved into a fit of angry, defeated tears, mingled with another emotion the priestess couldn't quite place yet.

Kirin could only look on silently. Nepththys wasn't ready to accept this outcome, and she had to respect that. It was on her to face her thoughts when the time came. Slowly, the priestess' hand began to rub her defeated opponent's back, hoping to provide some comfort, even if she had a feeling it wasn't quite welcome.

"Let's get some rest, yeah?"

<I... don't WANT your pity...>

The telepathic voice snapped back. However, despite her continued defiance, the gardevoir was powerless to continue - and she was slowly coming to terms with that. The seal had done the job.

It was over.

<...I... concede...>

...

WINNER: KIRIN!

FJORRD THE CRUSHER

Auto-perms granted

"Surely that's not all!"

"You have no idea!"

Fjorrd grinned as the angel's wings flapped, lunging Pit forward. The nord's fists curled tighter. "Enlighten me!"

BANG!

The babel club struck its mark - meeting an ice-packed punch from the dragonborn, who'd thrown his fist into the incoming club. Pit pulled back his light-weighted weapon, and swung quickly from another angle. Fjorrd turned, and threw out his other fist-

CRACK!

Another collision. The icy axes remained on Fjorrd's belt - he didn't seem to deem them necessary for this. Ice began to cling to the babel club with each moment it made contact with the nord's fists, the club swinging with more weight and speed than its size and impact should have indicated, but the vigilant dragonborn answered each strike in kind with a matching punch, canceling out the momentum of both of their swings in a moment's notice.

However, just as Pit was trying a swing from another angle, Fjorrd suddenly opened his mouth, and he spoke - and the voice of the dovah came forth. The thu'um!

"YOL TOOR SHUL!"

With each syllable, a cyclone of flames jettisoned straight from Fjorrd's open mouth, the inferno carrying a force behind it as it surged forth with the strength of dragons and the fury of stars. It was continuous, the dragonborn turning his head with whichever way Pit potentially moved, the fire a persistent and deadly breath.

After a few seconds, the nord closed his mouth, frost still dropping from his hands. "Now it's my turn," he chuckled, before he charged forward like a predator that had just seen its opportunity to close in on its prey.

DART FELD

The Warlock seemed as though he'd completely lost it, stammering on and on with his threats. It almost made Dart feel bad for the guy. At the very least, he'd be revived after this was all over. Maybe the Red Warrior could think of something nice to do for the grumpy Mindripper to make up for this admittedly embarrassing current display.

However, a swarm of Lost were closing in, and Warlock hadn't seemed to notice. This might have been an evil guy, and he had probably done some pretty evil things - but a fair fight was a fair fight. Dart refused to let these neutral obstacles take away the Warlock's chance for an honorable defeat. The mercenary believed his opponent deserved to hold on to at least some of his dignity.

Dart quickly dashed ahead, and the Warlock swiped with his arm. Psychic energy bursted forth in an attempt to swat the Red Warrior aside, but Dart dropped to the ground, sliding across the earth on his side, the attack sailing directly overhead. Launching himself off the ground with his left arm, his right hand grabbed a ball from one of his pouches. A while orb containing what looked to be some kind of smoke or fog.

"Stay behind me!" Dart called back to the Warlock before he hurled the orb into the sea of enemies.

T o t a l V a n i s h i n g .

The orb shattered, and time seemed to suddenly slow around Dart and the protected Mindripper, the Lost all slowing to a stop mid-run as a mist began to drift lazily into the air, like a ghostly specter observing the encroaching swarm.

The sound of metal ripping and shredding against more metal split the air as a bright light erupted from the slim tower of fog. A cleansing light washed over the battlefield, so bright that Dart shielded his eyes. Lost after Lost were consumed as the light spread, before it suddenly all disappeared as quickly as it had come.

What remained of the Lost were only a few of its more powerful units, now crawling weakly toward Dart and Warlock on the ground. Every other one of the beasts had been simply erased, and given the Warlock's state - he might have been, too, had Dart not guarded him.

Quickly, the Red Warrior dashed forward, and in quick succession, Heat Blade had dispatched the few stragglers of the once mighty Lost swarm.

Dart turned back toward the Warlock, his brows knitting tightly together. "Just you and me, now."

KASSANDRA

"That's it, use up that energy..." Kassandra muttered to herself as the knight bombarded the great gear with lightning, before launching it back toward the misthios. Given that this was a three-dimensional plane - she simply moved a few feet to the side. The electrified gear rolled past her, a few sparks of lightning stretching for her, but just out of range from making contact.

The gear continued to roll away, disappearing into the distance as the misthios began to circle Alter Knight, trading out the heavy Hammer of Hades for something more sophisticated. The Sword of Perseus was the most natural feeling in Kassandra's hands. She tested its familiar weight as she continued to circle her opponent, a temporary break in their combat for this stand-off. "I once knew a god who commanded lightning," the Keeper spoke. She stopped circling Alter, now raising her blade before her, getting into a combat stance. "But you are no Zeus."

Kassandra's movements were sudden, though undoubtedly expected, as she closed the distance between them. While her approach was aggressive, her style with the sword of Perseus was a little more intricate. Rather than attacking for damage, or aiming for weak spots, Kassandra instead focused on keeping Alter blocking and parrying, aiming to physically tire the woman out with the rapid, unrelenting assault. The sharp blade of Perseus was a deadly tool, much sharper than any other weapon in Kassandra's arsenal. It cut tear through most metals with relative ease - it would only be through trial and error to see if the knight's weapons and armor could withstand such lethal precision.

Dagr

Beam actually sat at the table this time! This felt a lot better than before, when he was lurking around under the table. Now it felt more like they were equals, as it should. The devil's response was fast and simple, and Dagr chuckled.
"I should have guessed. I'm a big fan of meat too." Dagr said.

Even though the shark demon had his normal, goofy grin, Dagr couldn't help but to notice he seemed a little on edge. Rinku wasn't around yet, so that couldn't be causing it. Strange. The Princess was distracted for a moment as she watched one of the fights, cheering as Pit used a massive club against the Dragonborn.
"Whoo! You can do it!" Dagr cheered. She looked back to Beam.
"... So, are you from the same place Rinku's from, or something?" Dagr asked Beam

The Spirit within the Millennium Ring

Bakura glared up at Kragg as the world around them vanished.
Best so quickly, by this creature... I have gotten sloppy.

The 'teen' slowly stood up, staring after Kragg in anger. As humiliating of a loss that was, the spirit was choosing to take this as a good thing. It had been a very, very long time since he had been able to push his dark magics that far. He would have to strengthen his magics and his deck if he ever wanted to destroy the pharaoh and seize the fool's Millennium item. But in the meantime... The spirit was tired. The Millennium Ring glowed, and the dark aura around Bakura disappeared...

Bakura

And Bakura opened his eyes. He looked around in confusion. Hadn't he just been in some... crazy fight? Another blackout? He looked himself over, and found he was completely unharmed. What had happened? The last thing he recalled, he was walking towards the portal... and then... suddenly, they were fighting at Duelist Kingdom? Bakura shook his head. He spotted Kragg nearby, walking away. Perhaps he knew something...

"Uh... um... Excuse me!" Bakura said, jogging after Kragg. "Um... Hello? Did we just, um..."
Bakura trailed off as he caught up to Kragg, staring up at the massive size of the warrior. There was no way they were just fighting, he would have crushed the teen! Bakura rubbed his head, looking around very confused.
"What's... what's going on..."

Rex Raptor

The beanie bearing boy had his hands shoved into his pockets, still brooding about his loss to Weevil. It wasn't something easily soothed, from their history they had. And the twinge of cringe he received whenever he saw his name on a 'loser bracket' didn't help matters.

In the corner of his eye, he had been observing Weevil talk with that whacko Rinku, which seemed to have venomous undertones.

Freaks attract freaks I guess...

Giving a verbal 'Bah' of disapproval, he wandered off, looking for the oh so helpful merchant dude that had the stockhold of items. While they did seem generic, he needed an edge to grasp over the competition. He wasn't going to lose here!

Marching up to the booth, he put his arm on the counter, gritting his teeth in frustration.

"Hey wiseguy, care to hook a pro up with an upgrade?"

Jevil
The jester’s head swiveled around like a top to watch Ripper Roo as he bounced around like a pinball, every surface he touched turning neon green. “HEE HEE! Up and down and up and down! We’ll go round the town, town! Round the bend, bend! Up until the bitter end!” Jevil cackled and summoned his sycthe in his hand, flying down to ground level as Roo continued to bounce around. He waited for the the kangaroo to pass over him then…

“NU-HA!”

With strangely impeccable timing, Jevil slammed the scythe into the ground, creating a giant laser on impact that traveled upward, right towards Roo! Surrounding the laser was a torrent of diamonds that travelled upwards alongside it, but they went past Roo, going higher into the air. They stalled for a moment, aimed at Roo, then shot towards him for another attack!

Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic recognized that mask, looks like it was dragon time! “Finally, was getting bored!” He said, uncurling in the air and looking upon NiGHTS as they transformed into a radical dragon. Sonic smirked and began to glow neon blue as the dragon prepared to turn him into baked Alaska. As soon as NiGHTS opened their maw and let loose a stream of fire, Sonic used his Light Speed Dash and spiraled along the outside of the flames, narrowly avoiding them and landing on NiGHTS back.

Wasting no time, as hedgehogs tend not to, Sonic curled into a ball and started point-blank homing attacking dragon NiGHTS with a shocking amount of force and power!

Knuckles the Echidna
Knuckles matched both of Cayman’s punches with punches of his own, two small shockwaves emerging from each impact. As the adept went for a crushing stomp, the echidna curled into a ball and rolled under his legs, ending up behind him. Carrying his momentum, Knux jumped up and went for a straight, but powerful punch to Cayman’s back!

Ripper Roo

The twitchy eyed kangaroo was expecting to keep bouncing and bouncing before Jevil decided to go for overwhelming firepower. Suddenly, the blue marsupial looked down before getting torched by a full blown laser! The laser washed over him as spades flew all around, whisking in and out of the beam.

"Uuuwooooooooooah!"

He soared through the air, a smoke trail coming from him. The black scorched Ripper Roo splatted down on the ground, dazed and burnt out. It looked like he wasn't going to be doing a whole lot more moving, yet he was still alive. His tongue flopped out of his mouth, landing right into a green tile he covered before-

KA-BLOOOOEY!

All the green tiles placed previously exploded in a fantastical array of greens and blacks! The battlefield lit up with a chain reaction of explosions, detonating all around, encompassing Jevil's position! This flung Ripper Roo up, X's in his eyes as the green explosions connected below, creating a big green skull and cross browns shaped cloud above it. All or nothing now!

NiGHTS

PANK! PANK!

Sonic struck the dragon twice, hitting the armor and making harsh dents in it. It seemed like it was sturdier than the slender frame would lead to believe. As Sonic flew to strike a third time, Sonic struck the armor right as a blazing aura erupted all around the dragon. Flames burning at Sonic's quills as NiGHTS-Dragon began to spin around.

NiGHTS-Dragon roared in a serpentine fashion as they prepared another breath of fire for when Sonic would inevitably break his course.

Sonic the Hedgehog
“Yeowch!” Sonic recoiled from NiGHTS body as it was enveloped in flames, his quills smoking a bit. “Didn’t your mom ever tell you not to play with fire?” He quipped, uncurling and looking at the dragon with a non-serious frown as they turned around to breathe more fire at him.

The hedgehog curled up and dashed towards the ground, avoiding the flames. When Sonic reached ground level, he bounced right off of it with incredible momentum and sailed right back at NiGHTS from underneath, currently in their blind spot!

Jevil the Jevil
Jevil looked down at the fallen kangaroo and grinned, sadistic pupils appearing in his eyes. “Your HP is mighty low, low. The game—“ Then Roo’s tongue hit a green tile.

BOOM!

“WAH-HA!” Jevil let out a mix of a grunt and a laugh as he was sent flying by the explosion that Roo had triggered, soaring through the air. Explosions went off at every corner, a few hitting Jevil and sending him zig-zagging higher and higher into the air until he was effectively a safe distance from the rest, although he had still been damaged.

After being sent high up into the air, the clown found himself nearing Ripper Roo. Still flying at high speeds from the explosions, Jevil transformed into a large, glowing red scythe. “Metamorphosis!” Cutting through the air, Jevilsknife went straight for the vulnerable Roo, aiming to cut him in two and finish this!

“BYE BYE!”

NiGHTS

Pow!

Sonic struck up at the Dragon, the underbelly being slightly less armored than the the rest of it's body. The dragoon hissed as the mask tumbled off the creature, disappearing in a twinkle of light as NiGHTS reverted back to their more familiar Jester form.

"Ah, not bad, blue." NiGHTS commended, leveling out from their impact. "But now it's my turn!"

She suddenly began to spin her body like a drill, taking a note from Sonic playbook of aggression! They darted right for sonic with near instant acceleration. If anything impacted her whole she was spinning, she would bounce off, ricochet, and come right back to attack again and again!

Ripper Roo

Ripper roo was helpless to the incoming Jevil-jack surprise attack, the Jevilsknife flying straight through him! The Kangaroo's eyes crossed as his whole body turned a deep red, yellow numbers on his chest counting down. That's when the slice appeared on his body.

"Ahhhh...Aw."

3...2...1...

KABOOM!

Roo's body detonated like a big crate of TNT, fireworks raining as the victor had been decided for the match

Winner...Jevil!

Ryuji
Nott's grip loosened, as Ryuji quickly rose in an attempt to escape her grip. She had a firm lock over his legs, however, and Moon-Wing started flying back towards them, while Nott started to get her grip on his chest again.
William acted quickly, charging Ryuji with power as he raised his weapon. After using Charge, William vanished.
Just as Moon-Wings swooped towards Skull, talons at the ready, the phantom thief slammed his Mjolnir over the bird. But whether it struck it or not hardly mattered to him as the force of Ryuji's temper-empowered slam cratered the floor below himself and Nott's, erupting into a shockwave that would send them into the air! With Nott below him, she would take the full brunt of the blast as they were popped even higher the bookshelves surrounding them.
Hoping it would loosen her grip further, Ryuji roughly pulled himself forward, making sure to elbow and kick Nott to finally shake her off. But if she wanted to keep enduring his assault, Ryuji would make sure she would regret getting so handsy.

Lucario
Lucario's eyes followed the Mudkip's aura as he maneuvered around the rockfall. The water-type steadily closed in on Lucario, apparently irritated by the salt-water, before it leapt out of the water and used Rock Smash. Lucario chose to meet the attack head-on, striking back with Force Palm. The attacks clashed, and Lucario took a step back, having sustained a little damage. But the water-type was sure to have been sent back as well. Lucario would take advantage of by sweeping it's arms, releasing three small aura spheres that would lock onto it.

Alter Knight
Alter raised at eyebrow towards Kassandra's line "Is that supposed to be an insult? Because you're not the only one who has experience with deities."
Kassandra changed weapons, now wielding a sword like herself. She lacked a shield, which she had to assume was to focus on offense as she slashed away at Alter, trying to find a weak point.
Alter Knight changed her stance, holding Libera out. She met Kassandra's slices with a rapid-fire assault of her own, stabbing her own sword out like a rapier. The blade extended its reach through her mana, which formed into long, sharp points as Alter jabbed away at Kassandra's own sword. Alter deflected the Sword of Perseus with these stabs, while also using the reach to keep herself a safe distance from the Kassandra and even jab at her when Alter found an opening.

KASSANDRA

"No," Kassandra replied with a casual shrug, batting aside a lunge-strike from Alter, before the misthios swung the Sword of Perseus backward, and zipped forward. Backwards, the sword still provided extended defense while also excelling in close quarters - something it would struggle at if she held it naturally. "Just making an observation."

There it was, a fourth charge. The mounting energy was over halfway to its maximum capacity. Still, she relented from using any as she swept and spun, her footwork a dance as she kept close to Alter, sure to disallow more than an inch of space between them at a time, both attempting to hinder the knight in her own swordplay, as well as force her on her toes. With practiced precision, Kassandra continued her original strategy, now dangerously close, matching Alter's blows with flat or sharp, relying on her demigod strength to keep her in the knight's space, willing her to stumble.

Just a little more...

Nótt

Skull swung Mjolnir towards Moon-Wing, giving Nótt the opening to grab the teen in a chokehold once again! The massive club slammed down onto Moon-Wing with a sickening metal crunch. Black blood, like ichor, spurted from the massive bird's broken body. Its gurgled shriek of pain was drowned out by the explosive shockwave from the attack. Nótt and Skull were launched into the air by the explosion, not quite as far as the phantom thief expected. Moon-Wing absorbed part of the attack. At the same time, the runes on Moon-Wing glowed again, encasing Nótt in a protective magical field and protecting the Princess from the shockwave.

The entangled pair were only launched a few feet off the ground, quickly landing back down. Nótt maintained her grip on Skull, rendering his kicks rather ineffective. Moon-Wing was blasted across the room, slamming into one of the bookshelves and falling limp. Another powerful elbow strike struck Nótt in the gut. She gritted her teeth. She was ending this.

Magical energy crackled around her gauntlet, the form of a dragon appearing on her own hand. The dragon roared, bursting forward. With an explosion of magical energy, Nótt attempted to snap Skull's neck with her Dragon Fang attack!

Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic grunted in an amused fashion and grinned at the jester, both still in the air. ”These quills pack a punch, toasted or not!” He responded in kind, closing his eyes and putting his arms behind his head in a casual manner as if he weren’t falling from a great height. Opening one eye to look at NiGHTS as they revved like a drill, Sonic “tch“ed and spun in the air himself, though he was a ball instead of a drill.

Both Sonic and NiGHTS shot forward at the same time, clashing together several times, both of them bouncing off the other with an shockwave each time. They went at this for a while, then Sonic suddenly changed course and dashed around at an angle after bouncing off, ending up behind NiGHTS. Revving in place in the air, Sonic created a shockwave projectile that flew towards the jester from behind!

Jevil
“UEE HEE HEE!” The jester bounced around in the air as his former teammate/enemy exploded into pretty fireworks. “WHAT FUN, WHAT FUN! A BEAUTY IS JOYING IN MY HEART!” Jevil did a little dance in the air, basking in the explosions as if they weren’t at all dangerous. Before the fanfare could even finish playing, Jevil twisted into thin air, disappearing completely and reappearing in the lobby. Floating in the air throughout the lobby, the jester remained idle for a little while, doing flips in the air .

NiGHTS

The clanking and bashing of their attacks rang out as it seemed neither of them were close to giving in. But that's when Sonic tried to break the status quo, maneuvering around and preparing some sort of move. NiGHTS overshot, having been prepared for another clash while a projectile formed and was fire behind them. NiGHTS eyes behind themselves quick, their trail of sparkles still coming from them. Thinking fast, she crossed her legs together and twirled their body in a tight circle, a paraloop forming behind them and taking the projectile elsewhere.

"What's this? A new trick? Knew you were holding back something from me!" NiGHTS turned around, putting their hands off their hips. "Not letting you hold back on yourself either!"

Pulling an eyelid down and sticking their younger out, the shockwave projectile suddenly appeared above in a twinkle of sparkles as it shot down with the same speed in which it was launched with!

Ryuji
To be honest, Ryuji didn't really expect to hit the bird. It was a freaking eagle, and those things were fast. But the poor thing took a direct hit and was turned into paste by his strike, which would've been really cool to Ryuji if it hadn't shrieked viscerally.
But it didn't go out with a whimper, summoning a barrier around Nott and dampening his shockwave, causing the two to more or less hop off the floor before landing barely any time after.
Great. Ryuji got a few good licks in, but Nott remained determined to hold him close. Worse yet, magic began building in her arm. Whatever she was going to do, it would be bad and aimed at his head.
So basically just bad.
"William." Ryuji called as he struggled. "It's showtime!"
In a moment of desperation, Ryuji recalled William, who apparated right behind the two with its gun-arm outstretched. Without Moon-Wing interfering, the Persona had a straight shot towards Nott, firing a cartoony rocket directly at her as the dragon covering her arm roared! It was a desperate move, one that would catch both Nott and Ryuji a massive explosion. But the phantom thief was sure he could take it.
The blast would shake the archives themselves, the force powerful enough to rough up Ryuji to the bone and re-break his already weakened leg, but more importantly shock Nott's out of her attack if not finish her outright. The phantom thief was left coughing and heavily wounded, but still alive and pushing through the pain.
If Nott happened to also survive the explosion and Ryuji's neck wasn't snapped the phantom thief would attempt to finish her off himself, wiggling an arm free in the chaos and pulling out his Megido blaster, firing it into Nott's head one-handed in what could be his final act of defiance!

Alter Knight
Slash after slash, Kassandra refused to let up. She made sure to keep the distance between them constant as she continued to ignore the 6 feet rule.
Alter Knight did not stumble however, keeping each blow from striking her directly as she continuously back off from Kassandra. She spared glances back when she could to avoid getting cornered, but it was getting difficult as Kassandra seemed to increase the pressure. It was when a lucky slash managed to slice her thigh-not serious, but enough to draw blood-where Alter did something different. Suddenly, she shoved her shield forward, covered in protective blue mana. As Kassandra's blade met the shield, the energy seemed to burst forward in a wave that would blast her away. But on the likely chance that she sidestepped it, lighting bolts would simultaneously strike around Alter Knight, zapping the spartan if she remained close.

KASSANDRA

The misthios narrowed her eyes, recognizing the blue mana now. The burst from it knocked her blade back, and her sandals skid on the mix of metal and brick beneath them. Lightning struck all around the knight to ward Kassandra off, who smirked as she twirled her blade. Nearing five charges...

"This is getting dull. Clearly we're close in combat," the spartan spoke, beginning to pace, her weapon hanging from her hand at her side. She appeared completely open, though Alter Knight was likely intelligent enough to recognize this as false. "Let's make this a little more interesting, no? You like your lightning, and I've got the Trident of Poseidon, which commands the oceans. Sea against storm. Sounds more entertaining."

Nótt

Skull cried out, and Nótt looked back to see William reappear! She tried to use the teen as a sheild, but the explosion the pair flying. While the pair were still entangled, Nótt had been knocked for a loop. Her ears were ringing and her vision was shaking. The energy around her hand seemed do fade away. How hard had it been since she had been hit like that? Her grip on Ryuji was relaxed, and she stared up at the ever changing ceiling. This teen, this boy... was incredibly strong. There was a chance he could even give mother a run for her money... now was not the time to think of such things.

It was the sudden movement of Skull that brought Nótt back to her senses. She reflexively slapped away the shotgun as it went off, the explosive gunshot barely missing her head. The smell of burning hair and spent gunpowder embroiled the fighters. The Jotun Princess grabbed Skull's neck, attempting to unleash the power of her Dragon Fang attack directly into the Phantom Thief's neck before he could continue his attack!

Sonic the Hedgehog
“What can I say? I’m good.” Sonic shrugged in the air, closing one eye in a casual manner. Although, his confidence was cut short as his own projectile was soon sent right back at him from above. Thinking fast, Sonic turned to face the attack and kicked the air with great force!

CRACK!

This propelled him back towards ground level and delayed the projectile at the same time. The blue hedgehog landed on the sandy shore and quickly rolled to the side to avoid the incoming projectile, which impacted the ground with a BOOM! This displaced a great deal of sand, which gave Sonic an idea.

The blue blur took off without a second thought and circled around NiGHTS while kicking up sand, making a massive sand cyclone! Taking advantage of the jester’s now obscured vision, Sonic leapt into the air outside the tornado, then dashed in with a Homing Attack! Then, whether he hit NiGHTS or not, he’d exit the tornado then circle back for another strike!

Jevil
As Irnane remained off to the side, scribbling in her notebook and making observations of the still ongoing fights, a grinning figure manifested behind her. Even his shadow, which projected onto the ground in front of Irnane, had a sinister grin on its face.

“My my, you are taking the game quite seriously, seriously.” He remarked, eyeing the fighter’s notebook with an amused expression.

IRNANE

The longer she observed, the more enthralled she became. It had been surreal at first, even difficult to grasp when she'd first arrived. So many contestants, faces bearing alien stories from alien worlds. Sonic and NiGHTS had been extremely impressive foes, and their current conflict with one another didn't disappoint. A constant escalation of attempting to one-up the other in a bid for victory. Dracula had been impressive as well, but for other reasons. Irnane was sad that he had left, but she understood why he'd gone. This tournament, and Irnane in particular, had awakened something long dormant within him. The dunmer hoped to see that particular vampire again some day.

Nótt against Ryuji was more exciting that what Irnane would have initially gleaned from the start. Certainly a lot more brutal than Sonic and NiGHTS, who were engaged in a more friendly competition. Dart seemed at the cusp of defeating the Warlock, though Irnane took note of how the Red Warrior seemed to be holding something back. What, she wasn't certain. Taskmaster against Masaru was proving entertaining, if not a little frustrating to watch. Their abilities outright countered one another, and time and again, the dark elf found the fight continuing beyond when she'd thought it would end.

There were others she paid attention to, of course, particularly in the winner's bracket - she knew not who her next foe would be, and she knew she needed to be prepared. The weasel of a child, Weevil, had defeated the brash Rex Raptor. Weevil was a potential opponent. So was Jeice, the red-skinned warrior with great power output who had overcome the big-headed M.O.D.O.K. (who was now floating aimlessly around the arena, spouting threats to anyone who looked at him). The insectoid Kragg had defeated the newcomer in Bakura. It was a simple creature, but its abilities and strength were great. There was the sentient sword, Aegislash, who had defeated the fawnling Shaymin. The demonspawn child Rinku, who had bested the volatile shark-headed Beam. The aforementioned Dart. The aforementioned conflict between Nótt and Ryuji, which was still inconclusive. And finally, the battle between the mercenary Kassandra and her mana-powered foe Alter Knight - another conflict with no clear victor.

However, her studious intrigue was interrupted by another contestant, appearing behind her, notable for the length of his shadow being cast with her own, extended before her. Her eyes darted from her page to the shadow, before she tucked her quill and journal into her bag as the jester spoke.

“My my, you are taking the game quite seriously, seriously.”

Irnane turned to face the clown. Of course she had observed his prior two fights, of which he put up a good showing - though as of now, he wasn't something she needed to dedicate much time to observing. Of course, she still would, just like all of the other contestants, as her thirst for knowledge and methods of overcoming Oblivion would dictate, but as for her future matches - he wasn't a threat, not unless the both of them made it to the end of their respective brackets, in which case, she knew the victors of either would clash.

"I must," she answered. "Much hinges on what I learn here."

She placed a finger on her chin as she stared back at Jevil's bobbing form. "You have seen something you shouldn't have. Your eyes, they're too wild. Nothing within the confines of either of our realities would permit such insanity to them - yet I doubt you believe you are insane. No, you have mentioned your status before. You interpret everyone else as the crazy ones. You comprehend your world is false."

Her words came naturally from her mouth as she seemingly pondered the jester's existence aloud. She wasn't spewing simple nonsense either - Irnane had long since accepted that her own world wasn't actually real. She had seen the truth, been shown it following the destruction of Dagoth Ur. Dagoth himself had gone mad with delusions when he'd learned of his falsified existence, in a similar vain to the clown before the nerevarine. Unlike Dagoth Ur, and seemingly Jevil here, Irnane had maintained her sanity and empathy despite learning the truth. Her world was the mere dream of a slumbering god, known only as the Godhead.

Perhaps the jester would recognize her own enlightened awareness as similar to his own. Though while she knew her world as a dream, he seemed to interpret his - and this world - as a game.

"Perhaps your inflicted condition only solidified, and those around you shunned you. Exile? Or maybe detainment. Locked in a cell, with the key thrown away. Out of sight out of mind. But you could have escaped if you truly wanted to. No... you preferred the cage. But your mind wasn't corrupted by simple knowledge, no, yours is too personal. An individual. An entity."

Irnane's rambling continued as she tried to pick apart the clown, before she blinked, and shook her head. "My apologies, I... get ahead of myself sometimes. You are Jevil, as I understand it. I am called Irnane Bethryon."

NiGHTS

Oh? Sand? Blue fightin' dirty! Well how about we clean up his act?

NiGHTS visually didn't seemed disturbed by the incoming sand, as when they donned a new persona mask, their image changed. They now took on the form of a sea creature of some kind, like a crossbreed between a dolphin and a whale, jester like horns jutting out behind their head.

That's when she dove straight up, colliding with the large bubble that made up the sky. Inside, she began to spin and spin. Water pooling up around her with more intense wakes forming with every rotation. Suddenly, a water vortex came to stretch down from the sky...growing bigger and bigger. The water tornado met the sand cyclone. They collided as sand particles and bubbles flew everywhere!

But the more water that was pooled into the twister, the more it gained ground until it reached out and consumed the dust devil! The water tornado touched ground, picking up small islands in its path and hurling them everywhere! NiGHTS was determined to break the stalemate in a very destructive way!

Audrey Redheart
"God?" Audrey scoffed. "Listen, 'babe', I've killed Gods. And You sure as hell aren't one of those." Her voiced laced with venom, she leaned back to avoid the jabbed blow, sliding a card to the ground.
"Let's even this out, though." She laughed a little, before it soon turned up, having been activated in secret.
Parasite Paracide!

Wait, why was it giving her that look-
Oh.
...
"THAT LYING BRAT!"
Audrey gasped very loudly as she took a step back, annoyed about what she saw as deception from the kid who gave her that card - Ignoring the fact that it was her choice to actually use it. Taking little time to relish in her angered shock, she decided to charge the Duo, hoping they would be surprised in another attempt to run Troy through with her sword.

Masaru Takahara
As Taskmaster moved to retaliate, Masaru quickly pulled his arms back, narrowly blocking the initial kick (Though it still stung a little) from Taskmaster's backflip. He still felt himself lifted off his feet, though, which interested him, before Taskmaster's knee plowed into his gut.
"Oough!" He gasped out, before being struck again with the Billy Clubs. Soon after, he hit the ground, and was able to slip away, getting back to his feet.
"Yeesh, hard blow." He murmured, raising his fists again. "But...I think I got it." He chuckled to himself, pumping his right fist in some sort of minor victory. He decided he had to act before Taskmaster could keep him on the defensive once more, charging straight towards him, and unleashing the very same Flippy Kick onto Taskmaster!
"You want a power move?! I'll show you one! WORLD-BREAKER'S WRATH!" Right after, he paused his momentum for just a moment, enough time for a singular reaction, before he jumped up higher and higher, his body flashing with energy before he came storming down towards Taskmaster, attempting to crush him before the landing would send up rocks to keep crushing the Copycat, a crater left in the ground.

The Warlock
"What...Why would you... A mere, human..." The Warlock's own voice began to peer out as Dart saved him. It was clear the insanity was still striking his mind, but it was...wearing off.

"...Yes, just you...and me." It took a moment, but surprisingly the Mindripper seemed to agree, readying his gun. "This...IS IT!" The clouded vision seemed to return his eyes as he began to fire directly at Dart.

DART FELD

Auto-Perms Granted
The Warlock led with a volley of shots, to which the Red Warrior charged forward. Heat Blade matched the fiery power of each shot, deflecting them away. The blasts soared into the distance, disappearing from view or bursting against a building. Warlock pulled back as Dart slashed upward with the blade, before the Mindripper slammed the butt of his rifle forward, striking Dart against the arm.

The mercenary was knocked back a step, before Heat Blade flared to life with flames, and he plunged it down into the concrete beneath them, just as Warlock's arm struck outward to grasp the human by his throat. Before his fingers could curl around Dart, an explosion rocked the Warlock's world, bursting from the plunged blade, and throwing the Warlock back.

Charging forward once again, Dart deflected another strike from the rifle with his sword, before his heel lunged into the psychic's stomach, lurching the Mindripper forward - and into another uppercut slash from Heat Blade.

The Warlock roared with fury as he stumbled back, clutching at his face, a deep gouge leaving a vertical scar up it, disfiguring him. Sparks of psychic energy seemed to spurt from the open wound, before the Mindripper's arms shook with his rage, and he unleashed another powerful surge upon the mercenary. Dart's eyes widened, before he dropped to a knee, turning his left side to the incoming attack, attempting to use his more heavily-armored side to take the brunt - but the Warlock's aggression proved superior, throwing Dart backwards through the air with a yell, his armor smoldering from the blow, no Mind Crush to take its brunt this time.

The blast persisted, carrying Dart further and further away, attempting to tear his mind asunder, the yell from his throat visceral. However, the Warlock could feel something within Dart beginning to emerge. A burning sensation unlike any other.

THE DRAGOON AWAKENS!

A sudden crimson aura engulfed the Red Warrior, and he stopped in the air, even as the unrelenting assault of the volatile psychic surge kept pushing and pushing. Yet the human didn't budge. His arms were crossed in an x-formation over his chest, and in his core, a scarlet light was brimming, shining brighter and brighter. The Warlock's bloodshot eyes narrowed at the sight, plumes of flames shooting out of Dart's back like wings as the light continued to intensify, engulfing his worldly form, forcing the Mindripper to shield his gaze from it. Even his psychic sense could not penetrate what lay beyond the searing light-

A sudden blast of energy propelled from the light, dispersing it. Dust and debris was thrown wildly away from its epicenter, where Dart now hovered over the ground. Thick, heavy, scarlet armor had replaced the mercenary steel he'd worn before, great wings extending from his shoulder blades, shimmering green energy pulsing from them. Heat Blade, too, had been transformed, now twice as large, and brimming with emerald flames.

There were only a few tense moments of silence as the Warlock stared at this new, sudden form, before Dart's eyes shot open, and he pointed his blade forward, aimed for the Warlock. "IT'S OVER!" His voice thundered, magnified to an unnatural degree, before he burst forward like a comet, exerting untethered might as the ground behind him was set alight with the trail he cast from above, soaring forward - and slamming into the exhausted and dumbstruck Warlock, who groaned as he was launched backward - only for Dart to appear behind him with a flash, blade reeled back, and he swung.

The Warlock let out an unmitigated roar as his body was bisected, each half flinging forward as Dart hovered with a cold determination, his weapon aimed at the descending Mindripper. An orb of blistering energy began to manifest at the tip of the sword, rapidly growing larger and larger, until Dart pulled back his blade. The massive orb remained hovering in the air before him - and then his fist struck forward like lightning. A shockwave of energy razed the street below as the fireball blitzed toward the still-falling Warlock, the incoming projectile taking up all angles of his fading vision, before-

FU-THOOOOOOM!!!

The entire city block erupted in a blinding white light. Even the exterior cameras that were capturing the conflict went on the fritz, static being all they broadcasted to the audience. What came next, if the Warlock survived, nobody knew...

Until a gateway opened, and out stepped Dart, donned in his standard gear. His dragoon form had faded.

The leaderboard dinged with an announcement as Warlock's name appeared in the Loser's Bracket, and Dart's moved on to the third round.

WINNER: DART FELD

Taskmaster
After landing his attack, the Taskmaster landed. He looked like he was thinking about something, like a math student trying to double-check their work before submitting. Masaru charged with a clever glint in his eye, allowing the observant supervillain to put two and two together. Masaru wasn't as subtle as he thought, immediately using the Flippy Kick technique after learning it, and Masters sidestepped it fairly easily. He watched the leg zoom past his face, and casually turned to look at the airborne opponent.

"You want a power move?!"

Uh oh. The kid was gearing up for a powerful technique. Something the mercenary hasn't seen, by the sounds of it.

"I'll show you one!"

The Taskmaster tossed both billy clubs to the side, and began moving backwards. His now-freed right hand went to conjure up a couple throwing crescents.

"WORLD-BREAKER'S WRATH!"

As Masaru descended, the assassin leapt back and threw three bladed projectiles at his descending assailant with deadly accuracy. One at his neck, one right below the middle of his ribcage, and one toward the Strongest's femoral artery in his inner thigh. The fighter then made contact with the ground. Even though Taskmaster had avoided the initial blow, huge chunks of rock erupted from the roof around Masaru. The power of the attack compromised the strength of the floor beneath them and started caving in, centralized at the World-Breaker's crater. Now the memorizer had to worry about the rain of boulders as well as the ground falling away beneath him.

Acting quickly, he continued moving away from the Strongest and used his left hand to snatch his bow from behind his back. His right hand grabbed an arrow, and he shot it into the chimera of a radio tower combined with the dojo. The arrow trailed behind a cable, which the gun-for-hire quickly attached to his belt. It was at that point the falling ground finally caught up with him, and he leapt into the air. Still holding the bow with his left, he grabbed the cable with his right hand, and swung towards the dojo-tower. An encroaching shadow and glance over his shoulder told him that a boulder would meet him there. He yanked on the cable to pull him up towards the portico, and threw his left elbow atop of it to keep a good hold. The impact was not kind to his ribs, yet there was more hurt to come if he didn't act quickly. Taskmaster used his elbow to create leverage that allowed him to spin to the side just before the chunk of debris plowed through the spot he just occupied.

He couldn't manage to grab the ledge again, not that it mattered, as between the falling roof and huge projectiles, the tower began to tip. He still held onto the cable, however, and wasn't gonna give Masaru to go on the offensive while Tasky was hanging there. He quickly wrapped his leg around the cable like he was doing aerial silks, and let go with his hand. Since that hand was free, it grabbed another arrow from his quiver, and shot it down towards the muscly man. It would not break skin, but upon impact, would release a cloud of tear gas. Before the arrow even struck, Taskmaster was already taking another arrow from his quiver. This one he shot with deadly accuracy, exactly towards the Strongest's chest. This one would explode into a rapidly expanding and hopelessly sticky putty. This technology was designed to subdue creatures as strong as the Incredible Hulk!

While Masaru was dealing with the arrows, the tower was still falling into the massive hole. Taskmaster unwrapped his leg from the cable, detached the cable from his belt, and fell fifteen feet from there. The copycat landed with the grace of a cat, but after that, he took off sprinting. Not at Masaru, but perpendicular to the tower's threatened area! If Masaru didn't move as well, he'd be caught under the mass of wood and steel. Looking around, the area they were now in seemed to be a large board room crossed with the inside of a dojo... if it hadn't been desecrated by an ocean of debris.

Mudkip
BOOM!!!

The explosion sent the much-lighter Mudkip flying back towards the beach. He landed in the sand, and opened his eyes to see Lucario remaining on the offensive. He started to stand up, and found his body aching much more than he remembered. Still, the little pocket monster persevered, and met the challenge head-on. This time, he used Rock Smash to beat the first weakened Aura Sphere into the ground, spat a Water Gun into the second one, and caught the third one with a Mud Slap again. Previously, the Mudkip had failed to block an attack just like this. He looked past the sphere of spiritual power to see Lucario. The kind Aura Pokémon was trying to train the smaller water-type, and he couldn't let him down. Not like he did against Dart. Mudkip pushed with all of his might, but it wasn't enough. The stubby hind legs weren't well-equipped for land, and were sliding back in the sand with each passing second. He simply didn't have the strength to do it, but still he tried. It looked like he was going to lose the battle any second now...

...until his form was enveloped in a bright cyan light.

Marshtomp
The small Mudkip evolved into a Marshtomp almost twice its original size! The stage one evolution easily threw the tiny Aura Sphere away, and without the immediate threat, he realized his form had changed.

"Marshtomp? [Whaaaat?] :0"

Kragg
The child came running after Bakura, and Kragg turned to face him.

"What's... what's going on..."

The beetle stared at him, unblinking for a moment. He did not understand in the slightest how the possession thing worked, and believed Bakura to be evil. He sternly pointed his large finger at the white-haired teen.

"Stop tricks. Kragg won."

Beam
"... So, are you from the same place Rinku's from, or something?"

The shark snapped to attention like a puppy, processed her question for a moment, and then shook his head intensely.

"NUH-UH! DIFFERENT SMELL.... AND DIFFERENT TASTE! NOT A REAL DEVIL!!!"

Kool Kats(auto perms granted)
The Parasite Paracide card was played, and the two cultists were turned into half-insects. Allison was snapped out of her shuriken form, now an insectoid version of the Soul Edge- resembling a beetle with a carapace sharpened on the sides and ring-shaped mandibles that made up its handle. Troy's skin became covered in a shiny, green carapace reminiscent of the jewel beetle, fitting for someone with an ego as large as his. The pained mutation caused Troy's muscles to seize, and despite the beautiful iridescent nature of the chitinous cover, this was an assault on what he believed to be his perfectly beautiful form. He looked at his inhuman hand, and balled his fist in rage. Audrey was going to suffer his full wrath at this point.

Then Audrey shoved her sword through his body.

The narcissist silently glanced down at the blade in his gut, and then back up to Audrey. Wordlessly, he grabbed her wrist to hold her arm and blade still, and reached out his other hand. Beetle Allison flew into his grasp, and he brought the still-effective blade down onto the god slayer's arm. She was disarmed, literally, as her right arm was cut at the shoulder, and Troy fell back from the weight of the sword and start bleeding on the ground. Far from dying, as his control over his own soul allowed him to resist death to an extent, but not exactly in the best state to be fighting, either.

Allison leapt from his hand, transforming into a more humanoid form that boasted the eyes and raptoriales of a praying mantis, as well a third set of limbs, which were useless. She was furious. In a fanatical rage, she swiped her bladed arms at the false hero while spewing insults, threats, and spittle towards her as well.

"SCUM-BORN BUNION OF SHIT! I'M GONNA TURN YOUR INTESTINES INTO PARTY STREAMERS! I'LL RIP OUT YOUR THROAT AND FEED IT TO A YORKSHIRE TERRIER, YOU NIPPLELESS THOT! I'LL SHOVE BOTH YOUR LEGS SO FAR UP YOUR ASS THAT YOUR CORPSE WILL LOOK LIKE AN UGLY, FAT MIDGET! I'LL-"

Silly Shopkeep
The shopkeeper glared at Rex and pointed towards the door.

"Can'tcha read, kid? C-L-O-S-E-D: CLOSED. Your four-eyed friend already tried coming in here, didn't he tell you to wait until round two is over?"

Bakura

The teen took a step back, his eyes widening. So he had fought this guy? It hadn't been a strange dream?! Bakura clutched his head, his breath quickening. What was going on? His blackouts had never been like this before... had they?
"But... I didn't... I'm not..." Bakura stammered. The world started to spin for the teen.

He needed to calm down. Bakura closed his eyes, forcing himself to control his breathing. It wouldn't be good for anyone if he passed out here. These blackouts were getting out of control. He slowly looked up to Kragg.
"I... I think... I need help..." He said weakly.

Dagr

Beam's response was quick and loud. Dagr was finding his high energy and simple way of speech rather endearing. She smiled at the shark devil.
"So you two are different, huh? That's pretty cool. So what's your world like, then? Do you just run around eating people all the time or something, like a beast? Or do you act like a person and have a job? Or both?" Dagr asked the devil.

Cayman
"Woah!"

This Knuckles guy was fast! The echidna's ability to curl up into a ball to quickly strike from behind was something Cayman never saw coming, the red brawler's punch cleanly connecting with the much taller Adept's back, sending him stumbling forwards. The back of his armor had a fist-sized dent in it, though Cayman didn't seem to mind.

"Good one! Let my muscles answer back!"

Pivoting on his right foot, the muscular Adept slammed his left foot down once more, causing a wave of explosions to burst from the ground in Knuckles' direction. Then, assuming the echidna would jump to avoid them, Cayman would strike with a very fast fiery uppercut followed by a flaming dropkick!

Pit
"He's far from a simple human. Be careful, Pit."
"He sure is strong...!"

"YOL TOOR SHUL!"

A cyclone of flame spewed out from the nord, catching Pit by surprise as he was forced to drive his club to the ground, using it to protect himself. He had some pretty awful memories of scorched feathers, and he was not hoping to repeat them...

The angel hid behind the weapon for a few seconds, and when the inferno finally ceased, Pit poked his head out from behind the charred Babel Club. The only human opponent he'd ever fought had been Magnus, and all that guy had was big muscles, a huge sword, and some attitude. Now he had to worry about magic on top of that!?

No, he had to focus. All he had to do was knock a tooth out.

"Y'know, you never mentioned you could use magic!" Pit called out, watching as Fjorrd rapidly approached, opting to stick with the singed weapon for just a bit longer, awaiting the nord's attack so that he could act accordingly. Fjorrd's strikes could match the Babel Club head-on, but if he could find the right opening...

Grazie
"Eh?? What in the Sam Hill did ya just do?!"

She hadn't caught a glimpse of that power last time around. Whatever, there was no way it would be enough to handle her rip-roarin' might. If she couldn't squish Axe flat, she would shred him to pieces!

Landing back on the bridge with a heavy thud, Grazie held one arm skyward, letting its pincer spin furiously. The sand around the arena began to shift, gathering a few feet from Axe before quickly picking up speed, circling around and around - until it kicked up a powerful sand twister, generating a strong pull that threatened to drag him in before sending him flying sky high!

"How ya like this?!"

Audrey Redheart, The Hero
"A-"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" Audrey screamed out in pain at her arm being taken off, unable to think to take her sword back with her remaining, left, arm. Instead, she fell back, just narrowly missing Allison's blades (Ironically, if she still had her arm, it would've been cut off then and there). She began to crawl back before she got to her feet, barely avoiding the blades - Although it was getting closer and closer, starting to cut at her clothes. She hissed, her left arm cradling the stump as the Hero's eyes showed clear rage, matching that of her foe's.
"SHUT UP!" She yelled back, using her remaining energy to get some ground, her heart beating loud. "I'LL CRUSH YOU, YOU NOBODY!" She added, naturally quite pissed at the insults thrown her way. "GET A LIFE, LOSER!" She finally said, huffing and puffing with a reddened face. Her remaining arm gripped her scarf, before she suddenly took it off, and swung it right at Allison's eyes, aiming to blind, before striking a snap kick right towards the gut and a throw off the side of the stage.

Axe, Chosen One
"Nnrk!" Axe gritted his teeth as he saw Grazie land and build up the twister. After a short moment, he was quickly taken off his feet, unable to keep a hold on his stance there for much longer. He was launched high up into the sky with a yelp.
"N...!" His voice yelped out again as he began to fall, his body turning to look down.
Alright...Green Stone is out of the question... Black Stone, if you want to listen to me, do it now!
FWOOSH!
His momentum stopped in midair with a flash of vicious purple and red light, closing into an X-pattern appearing like a tattoo on his forehead, before 2 large wings shot out of his shoulder blades. His eyes opened, red.

"Like that a lot, Grazie." His voice boomed, as his new eyes darted around. "You get your power from the sand." A blunt statement, rather than a question, before, with a single flap, he dove down... Encircling the arena, readying his weapon.
SLICE!
Axe's pickaxe-shield began to cut through the base of the Sandstorm that had surrounded the pair this match, the sand beginning to topple under all this and fall much faster into the endless void below the pair, it's limit reached and running out. Even from his new-found high speed, his piercing glare could be felt.
"Sorry about this." In the blink of an eye, his body darted straight towards Grazie, ready to stab his weapon directly towards her.

Masaru Takahara, The Strongest
As the tower began to cave in from Masaru's blow, Taskmaster's throwing crescents seeming to almost bounce off as if Masaru's skin itself was empowered by his focusing. The martial artist held his ground, only moving to avoid debri, and when the first arrow came for him, he quickly kicked it away with a flip, sending it flying away, before sidestepping the next and watching the putty appear before giving Taskmaster a smirk.

CRUSH!
"GALE STRIKE!"
His fist collided with the tower, bloodying the warrior's hands as his sheer force began to crush the tower, giving him time to slide to get away from the fall, saving him while leaving the the crumpled tower to fall where Masaru had once stood.

"What, too scared to be up close now?" He said, ducking to the side while Taskmaster ran. "That's the only way you'd win, I bet." He added, his eyes scanning his surroundings now. Eying the table of what looked like a sort of meeting room, split by the debri, he kicked it hard into Taskmaster's path, trying to force Tasky to come right at him.

Ryuji
Not slapped the weapon out of Ryuji hands, sending it skittering across the floor. Ryuji tch'd, before using his now free hand to grip Nott's arm, summoning the strength still within him to keep it away from his neck.
"Not..yet..." He choked out. "Zio...dyne."
William used the skill once more, surrounding the two in electricity in an attempt to save their partner. Nott's attack would heavily damage Ryuji's own arm, forcing him to drop hers, but she would find herself in another malestrom of lighting soon after!
"... Don't...quit..." Ryuji said, though whether it was to himself or William was anyone's guess.
The persona obeyed regardless, using it's and Ryuji's magic to relentlessly zap Nott with electricity until she was down!

Taskmaster
The assassin saw the table coming and rolled over it with practiced ease. He landed in a kneel, already notching another two arrows. These were normal arrows, but he used a trick he learned from the Hawkeye himself. As he released, the arrows curved through the air, one headed directly towards Masaru's chest, and the other looked like it would miss, but rebounded off the ground and towards Masaru's legs if he stepped forwards from his current position.

"What, too scared to be up close now? That's the only way you'd win, I bet."

"If you wanna test that theory, be my guest."

The skull-faced man stood up and stowed his bow. He drew his sword, and assumed a patient defense.

Beam
The fiend paused again, digesting her questions before regurgitating answers.

"SHARK DEVIL USED TO EAT EVERYTHING!!! THEN SHARK DEVIL SAW LORD CHAINSAW!!! THEN LORD CHAINSAW BECAME HALF-HUMAN, SO SHARK BECAME HALF-HUMAN TOO!!!!! NOW BEAM!!!!! WORK WITH LORD CHAINSAW FOR... ER... 'PUBULIK SAFTEE'!!!"

Beam seemed to be enjoying the questionnaire, kicking his feet under the table and bouncing around in his seat as he recalled his fonder memories. When he was done, the devilman's thrill didn't wear off, but it now lacked direction. His teeth absent-mindedly gnashed at the air, and he was overcome with the urge to bite something. Not someone, luckily, but he sure looked like an idiot when he began gnawing on the table.

Kragg
Bakura was afraid. Though Kragg assumed this was still a ploy, the big beetle was much softer on the inside than he was on the outside. This confliction between his heart and brain frustrated the dumb creature, but he couldn't get worked up if he wanted to solve the issue. Scanning the area, he saw many other, larger hairless apes, and came to the (sort of) correct conclusion that Bakura was at larval stage of his development. He didn't really know what was happening, but maybe another bare primate could help.

The seven-foot beetle thought for a moment, before half-heartedly waving Bakura along as he began to stomp towards the only two humans he knew. Cayman was his first choice, but he was busy, so the Earth's Bastion stomped up behind Chai, peering down at the human with an unnerving stoicism. He then pointed at the white-haired duelist behind him.

"...Help."

The Koolest
Allison was successfully overcame and tumbled across the bridge, but was able to save herself before falling off. However, Audrey now had a straight shot towards Troy. During this exchange, the cult of personality did not have much else to do besides perceive. He spotted the parasite, hovering in the air and staring at Troy expectantly. He didn't need words to understand this; despite his raging ego, he was able to understand a thing's soul, often used when he wanted to manipulate something as a means to an end. This was one of those cases.

"...Destroy."

The Parasite Paracide understood, and turned to face Redheart. It dove at her with bladed mandibles a-gnashing, if not doing damage, then to simply stall as Allison got back to her feet. At the same time, Troy began generating a Vortex Ball around his foot.

Shopkeep
The shopkeep pursed his lips.

"Sure. But go wait outside, I just sprayed this place with Febreeze™."

Audrey Redheart
As the Parasite dove towards Audrey, she was able to recognize this exact type of situation; Hero facing down big, slower monster. Though she was in immense pain, she had to take the chance at she began to run forward...Before jumping up with a quick flip, getting above Parasite Paracide as it dove straight at where she had been. She leaped off the top of the creature, aiming to shove it too. She saw the slowly generating Vortex Ball, but she knew in her pain that she had to act fast as she dove to grab her blade. As soon as she felt her remaining hand on the sword's hilt, she dashed forward in mid-air to avoid retaliation, creating a sort of afterimage as she moved forward past her foes, rolling.

"Huff...Huff..." Panting, she pointed her blade up. "You know what, Idiot?!" She began to yell. "YOUR LIFE IS NOTHING!" As she yelled, lightning zapped down straight from the sky into the blade. "YOU SERVE NO PURPOSE, LIKE A NOBODY SHOULD!" The lightning pushed into her blade further, the energy building as her arm holding the weapon shook a little. "YOU SHOULD JUST GO AND DIE NOW!"

And with that final yell, she lowered her God-blessed blade, before lifting it as quick as she could manage with her weaker arm, firing powerful Lightning straight at the downed Troy, which would chain through him to strike the Parasite Paracide, and then Allison!

Masaru Takahara
Masaru was quick to catch the first arrow, snapping it in his hands. He was about to step forward when the second, richocheting, arrow grazed his foot, before he pumped his fist again. If he had stepped forward a moment sooner, he figured his foot might've been pierced, but he couldn't be sure.

"Yeah, time to test that out." He nodded, before suddenly jumping forward at surprising speed.
Fleetfoot!
Closing the gap quick, he aimed to strike with a disorienting kick to the jaw, before moving to follow that up with another Gale Strike.
