As he was expecting, Cayman didn't take well to the sudden assault from both sides, angrily shouting out about the ethics of a duel. Noah just braced himself for any counterattack.

"This is more than just a simple duel, this is a tag team battle to see whose the best of the best! I'm giving this-" Before Noah could finish, a wall of stone summoned by his teammate had suddenly erupted right in front of the soldier, separating him from the dueling pair. With a simple command of "Out", Kragg made it clear he also wanted to keep his duel with Cayman going.

Before Noah could object, suddenly the wall broke, Cayman's explosions destroying it and sending debris flying towards Noah. Using his blade, Noah was able to cut down some of the burning rocks, but felt pieces hit the side of his body and arms.

"Spark..." He cursed out, his plan to try and level the playing field clearly not going as planned. Seemed like Kragg was even more honorable than he realized. Noah didn't have much time to relax however, as it seemed as though Chai had finally noticed where Noah had run to and started to close the distance.

Turning the face his opponent, Noah watched Chai's actions carefully, the musician's attacks having been fairly unpredictable thus far. Noah tried to jump up and away from Chai, but was caught off guard by the sound waves that burst forward, knocking Noah back and further away. Noah hit the ground, managing to land on his feet but clearly looking a little rattled from the attack.

Gritting his teeth, Noah cursed under his breath and started to sprint forward towards Chai, running around. As he began to close in, Noah quickly swerved to the side, spinning around with his blade extended, trying to strike Chai in the side of his body.

Weevil Underwood

Weevil opened his eye, blinking in the lights of the plaza. He was... here again? Master Hand must have been telling the truth about this tournament being safe. That was a relief. Then the events of the battle came back to him. Raptor had betrayed him! That idiot! No doubt, that lizard brain had cost them the match! Oooh, when he saw Raptor, tournament rules or not he was going to-

Weevil froze. They had... won? Raptor had actually managed to come out on top? How was that possible? But sure enough, that was what the massive screens were showing. Him and Raptor moving onto the Winner's Bracket, and Neph and Kirin going to the loser's bracket. And even better, now it appeared he was actually going to be up against Raptor. Finally.

Weevil scanned the crowd, searching for Rex. Luckily, he was nearby. So was Kirin and Neph. Weevil gave to two other fighters a smug grin, waving cheerfully to the two as he walked over to Rex.
"Raptor!!!" Weevil yelled, scowling at the other duelist. "You idiot! I can't believe you fell for the oldest trick in the book!"

Nailed 'em!

Noah, though struck and flung, was quick to bounce back. Just seconds later he was already up to a counter attack. The counter attack was running...straight? Well, hardly a shake up of tactics but hey. Chai, now on his own two feet ran right to meet him for a climactic duel of blades!

Just seconds ago he had been on the ground passed out. Now he was standing straight up...in the plaza again? His duel disk, wounds, even his damaged shirt had been fully repaired. A smug grin grew on his face as he saw the two. However, this quickly left his face when he heard an ugly voice shout his name.

"Raptor!!!" Weevil yelled. "You idiot! I can't believe you fell for the oldest trick in the book!"

Master Hand

"Eh? How you know about that?"

Master Hand seemed a bit confused how they could know his background process that was active, only accessible via his private office space. However it was they discovered it though, he seemed hardly bothered by it, like it was a passing afterthought.

"Oh that. It's on the back burner. To be honest, I forgot I left it on. But hey, it's free footage without a need of a host to oversee it. So hey, I get to have a backup show air in case I want to take a vacation. Sounds like a good gig to me."

He snapped a finger gun at Chief, making light of the situation. Seems as though he was doing this out of sheer convenience and views, rather than anything extremely malicious...which somehow the easygoing tone he had was somehow more concerning.

"Hmph. Means little to me."

A voice spoke from near Master Chief. In the shadows, a horned creature stood, floating just a few inches off the ground. Their red and black horns were curled in a demonic jester like fashion, and they donned a series of red ornate armors and a singular golden mask on their face. This was Reala, the winner of the first tournament.

"I only joined because it is what Master Wizeman requested. Pet projects like this hold little value in the eyes of my master and myself." Reala stated, eyeing Chief and their AI companion. "Why is it that you are invested in this?"

Rinku

"Getting carried by that lady again, are you?" Rinku cocked a brow. "What the matter? Was that all you could do on your own?"

Rinku mocked, spurring Inkling on as they were fired toward him by their teammate. Looks like being carried was quite literal, as their momentum right now could be owed to their teammate. Rinku snickered as he glung the remaining light up to block Inkling's trajectory, trying to get him splat up against the steel before he would fling it into the second broken light, sweeping in to smash both of the lights and inkling in one go!

Noah's trick paid off well, Chai getting hit right in the side and flying off and knocking into a trash can. Noah didn't waste any time to celebrate though, immediately sprinting towards his downed opponent. Noticing Chai looking dazed, Noah wanted to try and get another hit in and quick before the guitarist could properly recover.

As he sprinted forward, Noah made careful note of the rubbish around Chai, metal cans, old pieces of scrap, robotic parts. Throughout the fight it was made clear that Chai had some kind of magnetic control over metals, and right now he was surrounded by possible new weapons.

This realization in mind, Noah decided to tackle this problem with a new approach. Just as soon as he began to close the distance between him and Chai, Noah summoned his Ogre hammer, and with a leap, lifted the hammer up, before coming crashing down. But not on top of Chai, just in front of him, hoping the shockwaves would send the scraps of metal flying away. He quickly followed this up by replacing the Thaumaturge link staff, spinning it around his body in a flurry of attacks, hoping to knock 808 out of the way and break through Chai's defenses.

As Chai came to, Noah had already arrived, smashing his hammer down in front of him. The shockwaves caused by the hammer shot forward, carrying scrap of metal and trash flying right in his way! This woke Chai up real fast, as he waved his hands rapidly in front of him.

"Nononono-Ahhh!"

Holding his guitar to his face, his vital area was protected from the scraps but the Krak debris hit and gashed against his lower body, tearing holes in his pant legs and causing bloody scratches and scrapes across his torso.
"Chai!" Peppermint shouted out.

"Ngh! Guess it was a good thing I had my tetanus shot last week..." Chai shook his head. "Okay guy, don't dish something out if you ain't ready to take it!"

It seemed the scrap and now somewhat bloodied debris had stopped mid air after flying past and through Chai, floating back towards and clumping up on his guitar. They formed and piled up into a big scrap iron ball on the end of his guitar! Starting to get pretty unbalanced, Chai wobbily intercepted Noah's next move.

"Echo Splash!"

Jumping and smashing the ball down at Noah, the thick instrument would aim to smash his spinning formation, and the icing on top? The debris would all fly out after the strike, a whole iron ball's worth of debris! And even if it missed, hitting the ground would cause them all to explode out anyway!

As Noah started his second attack with the staff, Chai finally recovered and got back to his feet, protecting himself from the incoming scrap as best as possible. However the scrap didn't fall to the ground with a clang, instead it flew right back to Chai, creating a brand new weapon. Something like a makeshift hammer, the giant ball of scrap was exactly the thing Noah was hoping to avoid happening by knocking the metal away. Seems like Chai's magnetic abilities were far stronger than Noah thought.

There was no time for thinking now though, as Chai leaped into the air similar to how Noah did just moments ago. Sword back at his side, Noah quickly leapt towards the incoming attack, swinging his blade up as he did.

"Air Slash!" With the shout, Noah aimed to strike the ball of scrap with his sword, hoping to make it break apart and maybe send some of the debris back Chai's way. Expecting some to hit him though, Noah also braced for the impact of the sharp metal.

As his meatball of less meat and more metal crashed down on Noah, there was a sudden swipe, and from the center of it a swipe emerged. Following the swiped, a splash of scrap shot up at him. His face was the closest to the plume of scrap, having preformed the attack over his shoulders. He instinctively closed his eyes, puffing up his cheeks as sharp pieces of iron pelted his skin. It got to the point where he has to raise a hand to block some of the debris. This threw him off his groove, preventing him from following up the attack. On the same token though, the rest of the iron ball crashed down on Noah from both of his sides. That shouldn't feel good!

"Oof!"

Chai fell to the ground near the holographic globe in the center of the stage. Wiping his bloodied cheek and spitting a screw out of his mouth, he groaned at the state of affairs.

"Ya know, i'm getting real tired of getting hurt by my own stuff..."

"Have you tried...just hitting him?" 808 asked in deadpan.

Taskmaster
"Huh, you don't strike me as the joking type. That's really funny considering how this fight's played out thus far."

The living blade lashed out at his legs. Being a swordsman himself, Taskmaster handled it simply: by hopping backwards and throwing his legs backwards a bit, before pulling them back under himself to land prepared. This sword wasn't all that difficult to dodge. Besides the putty slowing it down, the weightless floating provided grace and smooth transitions between slashes, but without a hand holding to manipulate and jerk it around, the Pokémon became much easier to predict. Then the diagonal slash came- speaking of predicting- which the assassin deflected by raising both of his shields. The osmium alloy of Taskmaster's shield held just as well as Slash's own shield. And then if the super soldier's theory was correct- yep. The vertical slash came next, which meant this melee combo followed the exact same pattern as the previous projectiles. Taskmaster saw this from a mile away, meaning he also knew how to counter it.

He forced his own shield down to meet Slash's upwards swipe, the attacks canceling eachother out to interrupt the sword's combo. The clash did chip the edge of his shield a bit, but it was worth what was to come. Like lightning, his other arm shot out to smack Slash with his own shield in the goop. If it stuck, Taskmaster pivoted to use his superior grounded leverage and heave the sword into the electrified subway tracks!

"Not living up to your smack talk here. You're in over your hilt."

Mudkip
The Pokémon was unable to recover before Dart had followed him, a wave of flame tossing him into the air before the sword batted him away. This damage was quickly whittling away at the amphibian, though no blood was drawn as the sword only left kid-friendly abrasion. Mudkip was able to land on his feet, skidding to a halt. This was where he was going to stand his ground. He then stood on his hind legs, and as he did before, slung a Mud Slap at Dart, and then another with his other hand. The third part of his attack was a Water Gun that burst from his mouth, but these three projectiles would only slow the human down. So, Mudkip took a step back to gain better balance on his hind legs, and balled a fist in preparation for what was to come.

Kragg
The Adept commended Kragg's honorability. The beetle nodded, before assuming a battle stance again. Cayman came at him with a knee, yet he met the attack with a block. The Wallrunner was wisening as his fight went on, so he correctly assumed there'd be a follow up attack. Before the duelist could get it off, however, Kragg utilized his superior weight and threw out his arms to push Cayman back. With a quick stomp, he summoned a spike that curved backwards, toward the brawler as he was(supposedly) flying toward it! With a follow-up of his own, Kragg leapt at Cayman, intending to smack his opponent into the earth with his horn.

Beam
Dagr and Inkling were side-by-side. They were both focused on Rinku, so Beam decided to screw stalking. The opportunity had presented itself, and an opportunist was seldom punished. As Dagr went through the motion of yeeting her ally, Beam shot from the ground behind her, and his head transformed, aiming to bite out her kidney!

Cultists
William rejected Troy's offer, but besides the twitch of his reptilian eye, he kept his cool.

He shrugged, "Your loss."

Now the cult leader was not caught off-guard by Ryuji's electrical surge welling up beneath him, he could sense the spiritual power building. He backflipped off of Skull's skull and flung the Soul Edge into the dirt behind the blonde. As he soared through the air he turned his attention back to Nótt, who graciously greeted him with a thrust of her lance. Luckily, quick thinking was his strength, and he pushed on the flat head of the lance to divert its course, enough to minimize the damage down to a small laceration on his side. But he wasn't done, drawing his blood had earned the jotun princess a counterattack. With his other hand he grasped onto the staff of her lance, and yanked himself towards her, aiming to smash his forehead into her nose.

Then came the kicker. An invisible force, only notable via a shimmer in the air, zoomed from both the Soul Edge and the leader of the Kool Kats. The Soul Disruptor went betweenthe two, and with the way they were positioned, both Ryuji and Nótt were in great danger. The warrior princess was more likely to be struck due to close quarters and the pressure Troy's counterattack had already put on her, but if Ryuji was struck, he would suffer the same effects, plus his supernatural strength and damage resistances would fade, as well as William being forced into a painful paralysis!

If Nótt was struck by the Soul Disruptor, Troy would snatch the magic lance from her loosened grasp and before swinging a roundhouse kick at her jaw.

Mr. Miracle
With a reeled-backarm, Mr. Miracle was spinning his charging arm around and around like a cartoon character getting ready to release one big 'BAM!' with a large swing, which was exactly what he was intending to do! Of course, not without his own spin put on it! And so, as the sand cloud was all around him, the boulder approached rapidly.. and flew unhalted through the cloud, as if Grazie's magical opponent had just vanished into thin air, which, coincidentally, was exactly what he did as his foe already oh-so-graciously gave him so much cover to work with!

" Cheers for the sand cloak, Graz! Almost got me with that boulder if it weren't for the cloud! "

His words rung up behind the sand-casting woman, who would find herself face-to-face with a magically-charged, reeled-back gorilla fist, Hagen's own increased bodyweight put into it as he thrust his whole shoulder and body forward alongside it for that extra oomph, not to mention the magic contained in his fist being released upon impact, creating an explosive burst of magic on contact if it managed to land!

" Here's to you, from yours truly! "

Minos
Unbelievable how strong and durable his opponent was! Now if only his realm had fighters like these set against the Kingdom of Heaven, maybe Mankind would've stood a chance and those dreadful machines wouldn't have been made in the first place. But oh well, these were thoughts for the break between clashes as now, his opponent appeared to prepare a strong attack, which Minos stood by with arms lowered, ready to strike back at what he thought would be thrown at him.

Yet, this attack toward him never happened. Instead, to his surprise, the attack was launched toward his angelic teammate! How utterly disgraceful! Such a shameful act enraged the Prime Soul even more, causing his next words to be yelled with a mixed sense of caution and utter fury.

" PIT, BEWARE THY BLAST! "

His head still aimed his gaze at the red warrior, his fists clenched. Now, truly has King Minos had enough. With one leg set back, his fists now rose upward in anger, still clenched tightly. And with words so drenched in fury that it almost appears for the Soul Survivor to have lost his usually calm, forgiving attitude, he had yelled out at the warrior.

" THY END IS NOW!! "

Suddenly, orange energy begun gathering in Minos' arm serpents and his fists. One hand was thrust forward, launching one explosive snake. Then another, rapidly increasing into a barrage of amber serpents, like one that Jeice had cast earlier with his ki blasts. However, this barrage would not be all there is, as Minos had planned to end it with one final move - with a crouch and a fist held back, he planned to move forward and give his hardest punch to Jeice, aiming to finally end this fight if his opponent even dared to withstand this barrage of his and attempt to continue fighting!

AEGISLASH

(Auto-Perms Granted)

This accursed foe! First the thievery of the sacred shield, then this pervasive substance weighing him down, and now this new stratagem. The Royal Sword abetted this, refusing to allow himself to be outwitted so comfortably.

Perhaps to acquit this opponent with a digest on his own alchemy.

Taskmaster may have had the advantage of predictiveness, but he was not as fleet-footed as he so believed himself, for the Pokémon had swerved his own arm, layered in the "putty" as the human knew it as. The substance met, arm to shield, and Taskmaster made to use his gathered momentum to throw the Aegislash away.

The ploy Slash plotted, however, befitted an altering result.

As he was turned over (still connected to the shield via putty) his blade glowed profusely, and elongated, cutting into the ceiling above. A gash in the earth, the blade plunging deep. He moved with Taskmaster's throw to ensure his plan was brought out to its maximum potential, blade ripping through the ceiling and wholly destabilizing it.

And then it began to cave inward, before Slash had even come near the electrified cart-rails. Rather, following the slash, the Royal Sword would use his own levitation to twist out of its way, and up toward the falling rocks, threatening to drag Taskmaster with him.

This would leave Taskmaster with a dilemma. He would be forced to abandon his stolen shield, returning it to the Pokémon, lest he be crushed beneath the rocks that now came down upon them. The Royal Sword meanwhile cared little for this trap and its effect upon him, for the rock coming down was something he could resist with relative ease.

" Apologies, I paid no heed to your bequeathment. Care to repeat? "

DART

More mud-throws? Man, this guy was either desperate or way out of his league.

Dart once more used his shoulder, mud splattering against it, before he turned with his movement, sliding by the third. Then it fired a stream of water from its gullet, to which the mercenary responded quickly, bringing up his sword and angling it against the blast, practically splitting the stream down the middle, the distance between the two having already closed rapidly once again.

Before the water gun had even concluded, Dart was upon the Mudkip, swinging downward, still cutting through the water gun, and aiming to bash his weapon into the creature's skull before it even realized it was screwed, the warrior quickly leading with a flurry of blows, swinging from multiple angles, flames bursting out of any contact made, the blade swinging to not just meet the Mudkip, but to cut against any incoming attack.

Kirin
As it turned out, Rex's Serpent Night Dragon was powerful enough to close out the match, granting Rex and Weevil their first win, subsequently knocking Kirin and Neph down to the Loser's Bracket, where they were set to fight each other. Definitely not the best start to a tournament. Then again, she hadn't come here expecting to win the whole thing. She was more or less along for the ride, looking to figure out just how she stacked up against fighters from other universes. If anything, she could learn a thing or two from everyone here.

Ignoring Weevil's smug grin and the following banter with Rex, the priestess walked over to Neph, whose expression was pretty hard to read. She would make for a mean poker player.

"Man, that was not an easy battle at all. Don't think I'll be touching a card game for a looong time after that one."

Cayman
Cayman's opponent was not caught off guard by the attack, bulk allowing Kragg to send his opponent backwards before any uppercuts could connect. This didn't stop the Duelist from still performing the attack, now flinging his flaming fist at the incoming curved spike, shattering it upon impact.

With a quick roll once he reached the ground, Cayman found himself already being chased down by Kragg, the beetle quickly catching up to slam down with his horn---but the Adept was quick to react, using a powerful uppercut to cancel out the attack before raising both hands to quickly catch the horn between them, no doubt leaving his opponent in an awkward position (earth shenanigans aside).

Before Kragg could come up with a way out of this one, Cayman would proceed to piledrive his foe into the ground, unleashing a decently sized explosion upon impact before following up with a series of quick punches, his aim to drive Kragg deeper and deeper into the ground without relenting.

Pit

A dive to the side was enough to avoid being sent flying into the air by M.O.D.O.K., who was proving relentless as usual in his assault. The Man-Mind went back in for another dive, Pit ready to answer with another swing of his Babel Club...

But his opponent had other plans.

A burst of magenta energy came forth, sending Pit backwards a decent distance. Then came a headache that surpassed even the mental attack from earlier, forcing the angel to clutch his head as he dropped to a knee. His coordination was also a mess, causing M.O.D.O.K.'s following attack to ring true, the Man-Mind's skull ramming into the defenseless Pit, sending him rolling along the ground. Then, as the Mechanized Organism aimed to strike again---

BOOM!

Jeice's Crusher Ball struck, Minos' warning not enough to save Pit from its devastation, a vibrant crimson explosion going off upon contact with the angel. A cloud of smoke was left in its wake, the attack's effect on the nearby M.O.D.O.K. unknown, but once the smoke faded, only a few scorched feathers remained of the angelic being.

The impact sent the larger Grazie skidding a slight distance backwards, her mechanical arm destroyed by the attack, but sand was already beginning to flow in from the environment to replenish it.

"Ya ain't stoppin' me with that! Not even a bunker buster is gon' take this here armor out!"

The Adept was quick to throw another punch, though this one wasn't meant to make contact. Instead, a massive sand drill would manifest in front of Grazie, looking to tear the magician to shreds!

Special Guest #2
"Personally, I want to see what kinds of fighters there are across the multiverse firsthand."

A blue-eyed teenager with spiky blonde hair tied into a ponytail glared at the screen in front of the group, black and blue coat blending into the void---or it would have, if not for the faint pulses of azure electricity coursing through the boy's body, piercing through the darkness around him. An electromagnetic pistol was holstered at his hip, accents softly glowing with a similar azure hue.

Gunvolt's expression was one of curiosity as he watched bits of the fights intently. Things didn't seem that much different from the last time he was here, though he wasn't exactly sure how things had been resolved since that incident...

"The tournament I took part in was just for sport, though I do recall things going wrong near the end..." The Adept remarked, head turning towards Master Hand.

"Can we be sure that nothing of the sort will happen again?"

Now, he was definitely getting a reminder to his fight with Merak, he remembered that guy using the same strategy with lasers, and missiles, and probably something else he had forgotten.
Clearly, Magolor wasn't as good with these portals as Merak...but he had more to work with, and that was clear. Which was why Axe had to work around all this, not against it himself.

Of course, his thoughts were interupted once more as the sand pillar shattered into grains, and a hail of fire emerged. Axe quickly looked up to see the spray of inflamed sand pouring down on the area, which he needed to find a way to protect himself from fast. Nótt was neither the strongest, nor the fastest Jötun in her kingdom. But there was a reason she was considered by many to be the second best warrior in Jötunheimr, only behind the Queen herself.
"Dragon Fang!" Nótt called out. As Troy flew over her head, Nótt ducked down spun, swinging her lance with her. Energy crackled around her lance as the form of a dragon appeared around it's spearpoint. The dragon roared, pushing the lance even stronger and faster towards it's target. The princess timed her attack so it would strike Troy's leg just as he touched the ground, with enough force to shatter even hardened stone!

The Jötun eagle perched on Nótt's shoulders watched Troy with a predatory glare, searching for any openings and signs of an attack. And as Troy touched the ground, the eagle spotted it. The nearly imperceptible wave, the same type that had rippled through the air moments before they had been struck with the terrible curse. It had been like a combination of the Gravity and Panic spells, multiplied even worse. There was no way Moon-Wing could protect it's partner from this strange technique. But that did not mean it would have to be crippled along with her. The eagle launched itself off of it's perch, clearing the wave as it was unleashed.

Just as Nótt's attack was about to hit, Troy's Soul Disruptor attack struck the princess once again. Even so, it was not enough to even slow Nótt's attack!

Dagr

Suddenly, Beam emerged from the ground behind her! Dagr turned but was unable to face Beam all the way, taking the bite attack to her right side.
"GYAAA!" Dagr screamed, grabbing Beam by his snout and physically pushing the shark demon off of her.

"Do you mind?! I was having a bonding moment!" Dagr yelled in Beam's face before suddenly lunging forward and attempting to bite a chunk out of Beam's shark snout. At the same time, the Princess twirled her ax before stabbing it down towards Beam's foot.

Jeice

As expected, Minos was not happy with that. Jeice took off as Minos launched a flurry of energy attacks at the Ginyu Force member, but there was no way he would be able to outfly them all. Jeice fired back, intercepting the flurry of energy serpents with a flurry of ki blasts of his own.

Then out of the explosions of energy, Minos suddenly appeared! To Jeice's utter surprise, the soul had launched himself through the energy blasts. Minos' punch struck Jeice square in the gut, with enough force to shatter a hole in the front of Jeice's battle armor. Jeice flew back, gasping in pain and shock.

Jeice coughed up a white ichor, the blood of his species, as he hurtled through the air completely stunned.

Weevil Underwood

Bug that got squashed first?! That wouldn't have been the case if Raptor hadn't attacked him!

"You were fighting everyone on your lonesome, you fossil brain! How am I suppose to crush our opponents if you attack me too?!" Weevil said, pointing in Rex's face. Weevil scowled, shaking his head. "What could they have possibly said to you to make you even think that's a good idea?!"

Ryuji
Once Troy leapt off the phantom thief's back, he immediately straightened up, whirling around to glare at the cultist. With Ziodyne still in effect, Troy's sword would be scorched by the lightning as Troy threw it. Ryuji gave a quick glance towards Nott, glaring as Troy went for another attack at his partner.
"They're preparing something...." Oracle warned. " And I don't like these readings."
"Trust me!" Ryuji countered, swinging his Mjolnir towards Troy's sword, aiming to strike it to the side. Yet as he swung, he hit nothing. In one smooth motion, Allie flipped backwards, reforming to her human shape, charged with invisible energy.
"Skull! Move!"
Despite Oracle's worried tone, Ryuji gave a cocky smirk towards Allie.
"See ya!" He said, vanishing just before the wave could strike him thanks to Pathfinder.
And reappearing just above Troy, diving down on the cultists feet-first! With Troy hopefully crippled by Nott's strike, Ryuji would pin him down!

Taskmaster
He had him. The sword had left itself wide open, but the hitman had made one oversight. Fighting a living sword, he overlooked one of the most important rules of his profession: always watch the hands. It wouldn't happen again. Taskmaster swung Slash by the arm, though the ghost slashed open the ceiling before twisting out of the way. The thing tried to fly upwards and threatened Tasky with falling rocks if he didn't concede, but the man let go without reluctance. The shield would not be of much use, as its edge was stuck to the Aegislash's arm. What's more, as Slash didn't mind being damaged by the falling rocks, they would stick to the putty covering his upper body to make the weapon increasingly top-heavy.

As Slash dealt with that, the mercenary slipped out of the area of the landslide with his shield raised to deflect those that did come his way. He ran towards the mouth of the cave to avoid being trapped, but whirled around halfway to shove a fresh clip into his pistol.

"'Bequeathment'? Your word choice is almost as out of date as your moves are."

Mudkip
The human closed in Mudkip faster than he expected, but the Mud Fish Pokémon was prepared regardless. He swung his balled fist as Dart swung his blade. The amphibian closed his eyes as the attacks clashed, a brownish-orange light flashing as the power of Rock Smash took and matched the brunt of Dart's sword strike. The clash caused the small Pokémon to tumble back, but as soon as his feet came in contact with the ground again, he dug his toes into the earth and charged forwards, utilizing his small size to scamper around and between the warrior's legs! After or a moment of this, or whenever the water type got the impression the human was about to escape, he would bite at the back of Dart's boot with a relatively powerful bite force.

Beam
Contact. Beam's razor-sharp teeth plunged into Dagr's side, forced by over two-thousand pounds of bite force. With a sickening crunch, her ribs would buckle and her organs would rupture. Although nothing was immediately fatal, blood cascaded down the Shark Fiend's throat before Dagr gripped his snout, which loosened his grip enough to peel him off. A couple of his teeth were left lodged in her side, and Beam's head reverted to its noncombative state with a gory grin. She went to bite him right back, and she did despite his tough skin. Yet, whatever flesh she ripped off was covered in sharp scales more abrasive than sandpaper. Then she attacked by stabbing her axe into his foot, another successful attack. He winced, but maintained a smile- now without the bloodsplatter. As he swallowed the last of the blood, his sustained wounds closed, and he was good as new.

"KYAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! TEAR YOU APART!!!!!"

The devilman grabbed Dagr's axe with one hand and shoved his other in the warrior's face. Then, his head surged into a monstrous form once again, before attempting to chomp his opponent's arm off!

Jevil
Round and round they went, teleporting instantaneously yet going nowhere! The hellenic woman summoned more orbs of energy, thinking she had limited his options to simple teleportation. She believed she could force him to do something from inside her tiny prison. How adorably naive! The prospect humored the jester, earning a chuckle from him. The chuckle turned into a guffaw, and as the orbs of energy closed in, it turned uproarious laughter. As he howled, clubs streamed from his mouth like a river. He spun around whilst clutching his belly; his pupils bounced around in his head and his tongue lolled from his yellow fangs. The clubs intercepted all of the incoming energy projectiles and the extra ones threatened both opponents, but did nothing against the incoming arrows. Those stuck him one after another, like a pincushion, and although they seemed to do damage, he did not mind in the slightest. After all the orbs were dispatched, he found that they had released an aura of energy, which the jester paid no mind to, and the darkner's laughing fit came to a close. He turned back to Kassandra with a mad twinkle in his eye, and after another arrow ker-thunk'd into his head, he rhymed:

"A fancy new toy you've acquired, my dear,
Though I liked you much better with a sword.
I pray that you won't rely on it for the entire game,
Because, to be frank: I'm getting bored!"

He giggled again before disappearing. The jester reappeared behind the misthios with his Devilsknife already in hand, which was already hooked around her staff-wielding arm! He gave Kassandra a fraction of a second for her to register his presence before yanking on the scythe, seemingly aiming to cut her limb off, but he knew not to doubt her reaction speed, and thus was truly intending to hook his weapon around her staff and jerk it out of her still-injured grasp. Regardless of the victor of the tug of war, his tongue shot out to stick to the staff like a frog, and he pulled at it in hopes of swallowing it whole to rid the greek's new favorite crutch from the battle. If she still refused to give it up, the Devilsknife flew from his hand and split into four, all of which converged on Kass's arm from different angles to force her into cooperation.

Mr. Miracle
KABLOOEEYY!
Boom went the dynamite- or rather, the magic fist, as two strikes collided! Though his gorilla physique would have certainly not given him much recoil, he manually moved his body away while spinning himself around multiple times, using the brief flash as a moment of cover to turn himself back to normal, making it seem as if this knocked him out of it. He slammed himself into a stone pillar, then proceeded to starfish himself down the pillar and onto the ground like a cartoon character.

There, he lied for a few moments, head buried in the sand and rest of his body posed straight up like a mannequin stuck in the ground, before casting up a storm around himself and fixing himself up, making a comedic pose to keep the audience entertained (though he himself was trying to hide the fact that slamming himself into a stone pillar was creating one hell of a swarm of back pain, nevermind the pain created from starfishing all the way down said pillar), leaving Grazie's sand drill to cut through nothing but the sand-filled air. Now standing up and fixing his bowtie (which included tucking and stretching it so much it genuinely choked him for a moment before adjusting itself as he let go), he looked up at the drill, only just now realizing what could have happened to him. Geez, talk about overcompensating, eh?

Lucky for him, his teammate already had something planned, dropping his own opponent in the way of it, giving Miracle an idea. Even though this may change his ally's plan up than what they originally thought up, this would surely be better than simply dropping the kid into a still-spinning drill, AND create a dazzling effect for the audience to be amazed at!

Miracle charged forward again, setting himself on a floating crash course with the drill, making it seem as if he were trying to ram into it.. before stopping just short of it and extending an arm, revealing the sand he had hidden behind his cloak and in his sleeve, creating a tendril starting from his wrist that would try to connect to the drill and pump as much magic energy into it as he could muster! If he suceeded, he could potentially overflow it and cause one big boom of firework-esque explosions, or if Grazie tried to dissipate it, he'd just detonate it as is and, though it would hold a smaller yield, would still be enough to disrupt the current happenings for an opening (Of course, he wouldn't detonate it without dissipating the tendril first. He may be happy to entertain at his own cost, but he's not stupid enough to blow his own arm off!)

Shaymin
The Gratitude Pokémon's frame lit up, casting him in a white light as his teammate spoke up, though it seemed like they got a grip on their situation at the moment, leaving Shaymin to focus on his own foe. As soon as his Sky Forme was complete, his body changed from being coated in a white energy to a light-pink tone as his eyes also lit up in a matching shade, indicating his use of Psychic.

However, his use was not targetted at just his foe - rather, Shaymin waited until they were in range, and then attempted to control the very fist they were using to launch their attack to strike them with their own body, potentially combining the super effective power of Psychic with the very force of Masaru's own attack being used against him!

Minos
Despite his strikes of fury, his opponent still remained standing, much to his dismay. However, the King was relentless, for his mercy had been cast away the moment his ally was struck down. He would not hold back no longer. This red warrior needed to go, and fast. Minos kept the pressure up, attempting to land blow after blow with a combo, his finisher having him plan to try to grasp his foe's throat and punch consecutively at the hole made in his opponent's armor until it went straight through and out the other side!

Dagr

Dagr spat out the chunk of Dagr's flesh she had ripped out, releasing her grip on the shark demon and grabbing her ax with both hands again. The pain from the massive bite was intense and nearly overwhelming, but Dagr was no stranger to pain.
"Hah, how do you like- gmf!" Dagr's comeback was abruptly cut short as Beam grabbed her face. Attack was surely quick to follow. Blinded, she still knew what to do.

Dagr kicked the side of her ax, cutting through the rest of Beam's foot. She spun her ax, using the leverage to twist it out of Beam's one-handed grip. This worked to release Beam's grip on her weapon, and doubled as an attack heading straight for the shark demon's massive neck! Dagr let out a muffle yell as she attacked, and a green energy took form around the ax's blade. The energy took the form of a green dragon's head, pushing the weapon with even greater speed and power! The Dragon Fang technique that her and her sister were known for. Perhaps attacking like this would cost the princess her arm, but she had no other options.

Inkling “Blue”
Blue closed one eye and smiled slightly as Dagr patted his head, though eh quickly caught himself and focused up once again. “Uh, sorta.” He hesitantly responded to Dagr’s question about whether he was having fun. “This guy is kinda a jerk though, you know what I mEAN—“ Dagr yanked the squiddo back by his shirt collar, saving him from Rinku’s maneuver with the speakers. “What the heck man, we need those for concerts!” Inkling frowned, more angry than expected. Then again, music was a big part of his culture. “You’re totally buying new ones when this is over!”

After being thrown by his teammate, Blue changed into squid form to deal with what Rinku no doubt thought was a hilarious move, attempting to splat him against the speakers in a cruel display of irony. However, the squid kid suddenly flew forward midair with a surge of ink, darting right past the speakers and towards the demon child in one fast maneuver! As Inkling flew past he got out a Burst Bomb, but instead of throwing it he clenched his hand and popped it himself, right at Rinku’s face as he passed!

With his opponent hopefully disoriented and even more inked, Blue opened fire with his Splattershot from behind as he soared through the air, before landing on the ground with a shockingly agile roll. The Inkling then ran in a full sprint in a rotational motion around Rinku, wherever he was, shooting at him and inking the ground at the same time.

Rinku

Did the inkling think they could outspeed a literal speed demon? It was cute. Dumb, but cute. Rinku arched a brow, grinning as he evaded the attack with ease, dropping the spotlight and putting his hands behind his head. However...inkling appeared to have something in their hands. Eyes widening for a split second, he darted back as the explosion went off, some paint landing on his cheeks and shoulder. He winced, taken off guard by the attack.

Inkling was on the attack, shooting a rain of ink at him. Hissing, Rinku wove between the attacks, another blast hitting a pant leg and another striking his shoe. He was starting to get hit more and more after his guard was broken. Rinku's previous playful tone had shifted. Landing down on the ground with his feet, his eyes were hidden by the shadow of his hat. He gripped a bag that had been dangling from his neck. So when Inkling ran around him, shooting ink at him, something strange happened.

Something lashed out from Rinku's bag. A few somethings. Blurs flew all around Rinku. The paint that came to coat him was sliced in the air, evaporating into steam from the impacts right before Inkling's very eyes! A wide, devious smile grew across his face, nearly going ear to ear.

"Okay. Looks like you are just a tad above beginner difficulty for this game." Rinku chuckled. "So, how about you fight me with the training wheels off?"

Rinku laughed, revealing four circular objects in his hands. They had stars on them, matching the stars on his cheeks. ...Yo-Yos? Rinku's sharp look in his eyes made it seem that these weren't any normal Yo-Yos. Like he had finally begun to exert some effort.

Fweeeeeeeee~

The high pitched, almost electrical bird sound to the Yo-Yos sang out as Rinku thrust his right hand out, 4 of them shot towards inkling. Their speed was immense, two took to the left and two took to the right. Element of surprise was in his advantage. If he shot at them? He'd tear right through them. If Inkling evaded? He'd have them weave faster than they could dodge, especially since they had recently shot ink out of themselves to jet before. There had to be a limit. And he would enjoy forcing Blue to that very limit.

Rex Raptor

"What could they have possibly said to you to make you even think that's a good idea?!"

twinge

Rex's eye twitched, a faint heat rising to his face. How would he even begin to explain the whole err...'Lady Rex' thing? Unable to think of a convincing, non-humiliating way to say, he just rolled his eyes, huffing and crossing his arms.

"Tch! Just some losers who thought they could make me for a fool." He grumbled. "Besides, I trashed them all for trying. And judging from that roster, I stomped them faster than anybody else in this whole tournament!"

Master Hand

"Yeah yeah, no 'supernatural wish machine' involved this time." The hand air quoted. "This time it's FAR more controllable. Psht, and to think the solution was this easy before, I should have lead with it, really."

Master Hand seemed to be fairly confidence in his solution, at least on the surface. They rolled their fingers around in their palm, looking on toward the other matches.

"Dont think any of these freaks will see it coming."

Kragg
The Adept met Kragg's horn with a powerful uppercut. Usually such an attack would crumble like chalk before a rhinoceros beetle's pride, but without a proper foothold to follow through, the Wallrunner's momentum was halted with a small shockwave. The quicker of the two, Cayman grabbed the horn and used it to slam Kragg into the earth. What came next could only be described as an onslaught, as the Earth's Bastion was beaten further into a crater by a man's man. His armor chipped and green skin bruised, but in the earth he was empowered. Three pillars shot from the edges of the crater. They came at angles towards Cayman, all coming together to (hopefully)pinch the Adept into a restraint. Kragg knew from earlier experience that this couldn't hold him for long, so quickly he acted. He sprung to his feet and swung both his arms at his foe, which on contact would crush the rock into a more form-fitting and compressed restraint around the duelist.
Then, the earthropod held his hands there, and pitched his opponent, at the same time summoning a much larger pillar. Gravel spilled out of the side of this pillar until there was a small opening just big enough for a human body. Kragg's goal? To drag Cayman underground, where he'd be helplessly crushed by tectonic might.

Beam
The axe spun, slicing through Beam's grip and forcing him to give up his grip on the weapon. Dagr's movement forced the shark man to abort his bite, and attempt to protect himself the best he could from the incoming attack now that he wasn't under the protection of the earth. The axe hit his arm and the power of a dragon surged forth, blasting Beam back.

"GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

He flew through a concrete wall like drywall, and tumbled across the uneven cement terrain until coming to a stop upon smacking into a metal railing. The attack had hit Beam hard. His right arm was only hanging on by a thin strip of flesh, and his chest had a notable laceration across it. That wasn't mentioning the many smaller bruises and scrapes that covered his body. It took the fiend a moment to shake off the daze, and in a panick, tried to reattach his arm, muttering frantic curses under his breath. Luckily, there was still a bit of blood sitting in his stomach, and his wounds were able to close about halfway.

He'd gotten greedy, after his victorious chomp he wanted to end it there and now. But he wasn't out of the fight yet, not by a long shot. Grimacing, he sunk into the concrete. He didn't waste his time stalking, because Dagr's attack had snapped him out of his animalistic frenzy again. He had a plan. Without the fin to show his position he had a stealthier approach. He burst from the ground right beside Dagr. Some her blood splashed against his face, allowing him to lick his chops and regenerate a bit more. His head grew at the zenith of his leap, and they were primed to chomp not at Dagr, but her bird! Though, he'd take the jotun as a consultation prize if the bird was made impossible.

Cultists
Troy watched her make her attack as the Soul Disruptor came out. He'd be cutting it close, but he let the wave run its course before dodging. With a hop he avoided the lance, but the energy that came with it proved more complicated. He tucked in his limbs to make himself as small as possible, and then brought up his arms to summon a Vortex Ball. The orb took the brunt of the attack, but the power damage his arms and shredded his sleeves. The attack knocked him back, skidding into the yellow mist and out of Pathfinder's range. Allison snuck into the fog as well to reposition herself behind their opponents.

"You clearly wanna die first, punk," Troy mused.

"I'M GONNA BEAT YOU WITH YOUR OWN SPINE, WHORE," Allison added.

The two flew towards eachother with a nearly magnetic force, rocketing out of the fog. Troy's feet became encircled by his Vortex Balls, which he used to launch a concussive roundhouse kick at Skull, in hopes of launching him violently into Nótt! Allison soared towards the jotun princess, and similar to Troy, her foot was enhanced with her power. It turned into a blade, which she aimed to plunge through the woman's spleen and puncture a lung with. She made sure to watch the bird and defend accordingly with a conjured 6-inch knife. If it noticed her, she'd throw the blade at it, and even if it dodged, that'd just buy time for her attack to connect.

Regular Shopkeeper
"Hey there, campers! How'd your first matches go?"

The Shopkeeper appeared with a wide grin, greeting those who have won and lost already. However, the man seemed more interested in the two victors; he casually approached the two and clasped his hands together.

"I hope you all had a load of fun in your fist matches," he spoke out to everyone before lowering his voice to speak directly to Rex and Weevil, hoping to end their argument. "Rex. Weevil. Congrats to you two, you're the first two winners! I'm sure it took a lot of loyalty and teamwork from the both of you." He let his sarcasm sink in for a moment before continuing, "Anyway, you two should check your pockets."

Should they entertain the Shopkeep, they each found a single coin in their pockets. The coin was large, gold, and shiny, with an engraving of the Regular Shopkeeper's grinning face on the front and the Bootleg Bros logo on the back.

"Pretty cool right? I call 'em Regular Bucks, and it's how we do money in this place. You can get most things around here for free, it's all paid for by the producers. But if you want something you can use in battle, then you hafta use those bad boys. You get more every time you win. Oh, right, speaking of: you're gonna wanna check out the pawn shop. It's not open yet; Gene's taking his sweet time helping stock the goods, but we'll have it good to go before you come back from your next match."

The Alright Attorney

With the sickening sound of metal scraping together, as the ball of scrap effectively exploded out, pelting both Chai and Noah. The Kevesi soldier could feel the metal pieces cut his cheeks and his sides, as well as the rest of the ball hitting him in the chest. Noah felt himself get knocked back down to the ground with a heavy thud.

Glancing out the corner of his eye, he did notice that his plan seemed to have worked at least, Chai sporting some fresh cuts of his own. The two fighters now down on the ground again, Noah started to get back to his feet, expecting a counter attack. Sure enough, Chai was already on his way to attack. With not much time to react, Noah felt the guitar smack into his face, immediately knocking him back down the ground.

"Damn it..." Muttering under his breath, Noah could barely hear the words thanks to the ringing in his ears. He glanced up at Chai, trying to think quick on his feet...Wait, his feet. With a glint of light shining from his right eye, Noah's face grew stern and determined. Using this position from below to his advantage, Noah didn't jump right back up. Instead, he swung his sword out from a crouching position, swiping at Chai's feet. He wasn't sure how Chai would react to this, so started to think of plans for any possible outcome.

Chai

"Got 'em!"

Noah was taken down to the ground. In all the video games Chai has played, this told him now would be the time for a DPS phase.

"Damn it..." Noah muttered.

"Looks like you're just not having a ball." Chai delivered a pun.

Preparing to finish Noah off, he was instead cut off guard during his pun when Noah swept a sword sweep right at his feet, cutting one of the sneakers and tripping Chai right down to the ground. Now down at eye level with Noah, he opened his eyes from his cringe in pain, peering to the sword.

Hm...

Squint

Hmmmmm....

Lightbulb.

Opening his metal hand, he magnetized the palm of it and the blade, pulling himself to the side of it-

Clank!

He was pulled right to the blade and clasped onto the side of it, though was how a bit awkwardly close to Noah's face. They were both in a rather disadvantageous situation. Chai couldn't swing his guitar, Noah couldn't, to his knowledge, swing his blade. There were just on the ground. Staring into each other's eyes.

"Gonna have to pass, pal." Chai joked. "Not really looking for that kinda thing right now. I already have a cat."

He pointed with his free hand up. On cue, 808 transformed back to its cat form, jumping to Noah's back. They would sit on his neck and start smashing with her little claws on the back of his head.

Alter Knight
Once the first arrow landed, Jevil would find his resistance to Alter Knight's element weakened for a short while, with the ensuing ones resetting the timer and dealing more damage. Alter Knight allowed herself a smirk. That must've done some damage, despite the jester's ever smiling expression.
Jevil spouted some rhymes, a clear contempt over Kass. Whatever grudge they had, Jevil was clearly attempting to finish it while she was weak. Alter Knight could use this.
"Hold him down!" Alter Knight barked to her ally.
Despite their current state, Kass proved adept at combat, so Alter Knight trusted her to at least keep Jevil from escaping as she dashed towards the two. If Kass worked with her, Alter Knight would swing Libera, using the bow's deceptively sharp limb to slice through Jevil tongue! Yet Alter wouldn't be done, notching an arrow as well and firing it at Jevil's face in the same motion! If Kass didn't or Jevil squirmed his way out, Alter Knight would not approach, opting to charge an arrow and fire it towards Jevil. The empowered arrow would pierce through almost anything on its lightning-fast way to the target!

Ryuji
Skull stomped on nothing but the floor, immediately whirling towards Troy with a hand to his mask.
""You clearly wanna die first, punk." said Troy.
"Sorry! But a phantom thief doesn't go down easy!" Ryuji retorted. He activated Fighting Spirit, strengthening Nott, her eagle, and himself for their next physical attack.
Something that's going to be used soon as Troy went for another attack against Ryuji! Skull brought up his Mjolnir, swinging it with more determination than ever!
"EAT THIS! BASTAAAARD!" Ryuji's bellowed. He felt his Eccentric Temper activate, empowering his muscles even further on top of his Fighting Spirit as his Mjolnir met Troy's foot! The vortex ball that covered it erupted, the force of which painfully struck Skull's face, yet the hardheaded teen stood his ground, using his heightened vigor to overpower Troy and shatter (or at least heavily damage) his leg!

NEPH

Silently, the gardevoir agreed, but only acknowledged Kirin with a glance. While she certainly held speed and impressive abilities, it clearly wasn't enough. Nephthys was confident in her coming conflict against the human, but she did feel like a part of Kirin's fighting style was absent. As though she were quite literally designed to fight alongside something else, and not alone, though that something else was nowhere to be seen.

Had the gardevoir simply led with her later aggression, it was probable she could have individually wiped out both Raptor and Underwood relatively quickly. Hindsight was 20/20, of course. And then there was that annoying move pulled by the boy - how the hell did you counter a black hole? It was consistently an endgame scenario. It should have guaranteed a victory. Slim, but there.

It was like a pent up anger was beginning to swell as Neph was overcome in the desire to simply enact her version of "justice" here and now in the lobby by bullying Raptor . . . but she contained herself enough to only fume, and maybe tie Weevil's shoelaces together again.

M.O.D.O.K.

BOOM!

For a moment, the Man-Mind's vision was muddled as he felt a throbbing pain in his forehead. It forced him to recoil with a growl of annoyance, his internal H.U.D. on the fritz - too much so to rely on his battle helmet.

The helmet had a hole in it, from where Pit had been previously, revealing the blackened skin of M.O.D.O.K.s skull, the lights of his mask's eyes flickering, before it all pulled back to reveal the Mechanized Organism underneath, one of his arms barely reaching up to tenderly prod the damaged skin. "MY PSYCHIC SHOCKWAVE WAS SO POWERFUL I DAMAGED MYSELF!" He proclaimed in realization, evidently oblivious to Jeice's intervention as his eyes swiveled to look at the stray angel wings floating to the ground. "YES! I AM A PROGENITOR OF DESTRUCTION! I HAVE DEFEATED THE BABY ANGEL! SCIENCE!!!"

M.O.D.O.K. spun in place for a moment, celebrating his victory, before he abruptly reminded himself of the other battle taking place nearby, and quickly turned his body to look upon King Minos locked in battle with Jones, who was clearly on the losing end of the spectrum. M.O.D.O.K. rolled his eyes. Couldn't this guy fight his own battles?

Nevertheless, with the Man-Mind now free, he'd be able to devise his original plan when this battle began. He raised an arm, casting his psychic abilities over Minos as he led with his flurry of blows. While this would normally freeze somebody in place, the A.I.M. Leader knew he was somewhat weaker in this realm, like earlier when he'd tried this on Pit, so it would instead work to rapidly slow King Minos, allowing Jeice room to move, and also greatly enhancing the likelihood that the beam firing from M.O.D.O.K.s forehead would land on Minos, the beam homing in on him with pinpoint accuracy, and should he dodge or even teleport, it would simply change directions, and if Jeice got in the way, it would zap around him, ignoring him completely. It was for Minos alone.

AEGISLASH

Taskmaster was given no response in return. The entire width of the tunnel had caved, completely cutting off the assassin from Masaru and Shaymin, while Aegislash seemingly remained trapped under the great boulders of rocks, apparently crushed.

However, there was a steady stream of some kind of liquid pooling around the rocks. A stench came from it, almost like gasoline, mixed with sewage. The Royal Sword inside of the rubble had found himself wedged, doused in this near-acidic liquid as it covered him. Yet as it came into contact with the putty... the sticky substance began to slowly peel away, though not immediately, nor washing away, the gunk proving resilient. It was enough to begin adding a counter-property to the stickiness, gradually weakening it, but it wouldn't be immediate. Twisting and turning in the wedged rock, Aegislash took advantage of the outer layer of the gunk's stickiness being countered, enough that he could rub off some here or there on the heavy rocks, enough to dislodge his hand from his shield... and slide it back on.

Comfortable, where it belonged.

Still, there was no immediate escape from this self-imposed prison, nothing that wouldn't take a little time, but as it stood, the Royal Sword didn't require freedom to act. Immediately, he began to use Shadow Sneak, Taskmaster's own shadow turning against him as the shadow seemingly rose from beneath him to engulf him, clawing for him like some kind of beast.

Aegislash glanced about his surroundings, the liquid still pouring over him, taking more of the putty off bit by bit. Just a bit longer, and he'd be free of its suffocating embrace.

DART

Whoa! Tough hit!

Dart grinned as his blade bounced back - but a single Rock Smash from the Mudkip had barely slowed the mercenary down. The hit was enough to launch the Mudkip back. The Hero of Seles could feel his strength increase - Mudkip's attack had activated Crush Dance, doubling Dart's strength. The small creature landed, then charged forward.

"Haha!" Dart grinned. "You're a pretty feisty little guy. Give me your all!"

However, he wasn't matched with another blow, as he'd hoped. Instead the amphibian darted between his legs, and Dart frowned, before he instinctively swung his sword about. Mudkip's bite came in, but it instead clamped down on Heat Blade, which flared with energy, threatening to turn water into steam as Dart rapidly cut inward, the bladed end aimed right into the Mudkip, threatening to cleave its head clean in half from the jaw up.

KASSANDRA

"You should consider acting, you seem the thespian sort," Kass replied almost casually as the Jevil dealt with her attack. She waited for his teleportation - he did it frequently enough to close the distance, and when he predictably did, she was ready.

His blade cut through the air.

Kassandra had teleported a mere three feet away, now facing the jester with the staff raised, a golden pulse emanating from it as he stuck out his tongue. Not only had she anticipated such an attack - but she recalled a memory of Master Kohga pulling something very similar in the last tournament. She wouldn't fall for it so easily this time.

She heard the "hold him down" shout from Alter Knight - which Kassandra chose to ignore. Not out of disrespect, but simply because she doubted anything could hold down this bouncy, teleporting ball of fun. That would be a fool's errand.

The pulse wave was similar to the initial one Kassandra had used to dispel Jevil's omni-attack from before, this one similarly releasing in all directions. This one was merely to push Jevil back with waves of energy, so even if he tried teleporting toward her again, he just be pushed rapidly away before he could do anything, though the waves were short-lived.

Admittedly, there was one thing the misthios agreed with the jester on: using the staff was incredibly boring. She was using it as convenience right now, a simple crutch to ease her way back into her proper form so she could continue the fight in a way she preferred: with a real weapon. Normally she wouldn't pull this thing out at all unless it was absolutely necessary (like for Jevil's all-encompassing strike), but Roo's surprise suicidal move had rocked her more than she cared to admit. She needed the remedy the Staff brought in order to recover properly.

"Alter, do you honestly think either of us could grapple this guy into staying still?"

MASTER CHIEF

Reala, the champion of the original "Bootleg Tournament," had directed his question toward the spartan.

"Why is it that you are invested in this?"

The Chief's head turned to look toward the nightmaren, but wasn't initially vocal, as Gunvolt, the champion of the second tournament, responded first in a rhetorical manner. He mentioned the results of his victory, a "mess" that the third champion, being Chief himself, had inadvertently cleaned up when he'd met the Nexus and became its guardian - an occupation that was shorter than expected, considering all that followed next, but that was done now. Another fight finished.

Gunvolt rightfully expressed concerns about this tournament, and what the end could yield, though Master Hand was quick to assure them otherwise, concluding with an off-handed comment, calling the contenders "freaks." Chief wouldn't address that.

"Obligation," the Master Chief finally responded to Reala. "He asked." The Spartan nodded toward Master Hand, denoting him as the "he" who had asked.

Dagr

Beam was once again sent flying, and Dagr had a moment to breath. She was bleeding, quite a lot. A strange sense of nostalgia washed over Dagr as she pushed through the pain. This was so familiar to the fierce 'timed battles' her mother would force her and Nótt to perform. Defeating their opponents, or losing when time expired. Battle after battle, with little to no rest in between and the time to win growing shorter and shorter eacht time. It was training for situations precisely like these.

Dagr grinned. She had always liked those matches.

Beam dove back into the ground, but not before Dagr noticed the wounds he had taken already healed. He could regenerate. The chunk of flesh he had tore from her side was nowhere to be seen either. This guy was healing himself as he ate her, like he was a Nosferatu!

"Hahaha! Yeah, yeah!!!" Dagr said, charging in the direction Beam had dove in.

Beam burst from the earth, consuming some of her blood on the way up. Dagr and her eagle jumped back, with the eagle flapping it's wings to push the two out of harm's way. Still, Beam's surprise attack was not bloodless. The Jotun Eagle let out a screech of pain as Beam managed to bite a chunk out of it's wing.

"Can't mess around! Sun-Wing, you know what to do!" Dagr commanded. Beams of energy suddenly shot from the eagle's eyes. A special technique Dagr had developed in her eagle. It was a magical charm that, if it were to strike the enemy, would magically slow them and lower their defensive capabilities.

At the same time, Dagr attacked Beam with a flurry of slashes, trying to hit him before he dove back into the ground.
"C'mon, c'mon, c'mon! Is this it, dolphining about?! You taste like raw shark, dude! What about me, huh? Am I chicken? Beef? Ooh, I bet I'm venison! I love venison!" Dagr chattered, her wounded state seeming to make her even more excited.

Nótt

The Princess shakily pushed herself back to her feet. Ryuji had come to her aid once again, taking on Troy while she was under this painful paralysis curse. And just as Ryuji had came to her aid, Allison reappeared to try to exploit her weakness.

"I'M GONNA BEAT YOU WITH YOUR OWN SPINE, WHORE." Allision screamed. Despite the pain and difficulty, Nótt couldn't help but to grin. Always a joy to fight an opponent who's skin she could get under. Nótt's eagle noticed Allison alright, hard not to with all the screaming. But the eagle did not attack. Instead, it landed on Nótt's back once again and raised it's wings. Allison's sword foot struck the metal wings, and like before was able to slightly penitrate. But Moon-Wing had learned from last time, holding out its wings a bit further to prevent the blade from stabbing Nótt.

Then something unusual happened.

The eagle's metal feathers suddenly shifted, forcing Allison's blade to move with them. It trapped her blade in the feathers, binding it up and making it difficult to remove.

A burst of power flowed through Nótt as Ryuji used his power up ability. Her lance glowed, doubling the strength gained from Ryuji.
"Scrawny little runt!" Nótt exclaimed to Allison. The Princess lashed out with her lance, attempting to run the sword girl through with four times her usual strength while she was stuck!

Weevil Underwood

Raptor hesitated, turning a little red a twitching at Weevil's question. Weevil's eyes widened slightly, and his annoyance melted into a surprised smile. He leaned closer to Rex, grinning.
"It must have been something really pathetic-" Before Weevil could finish his taunt, some weirdo showed up. A guy with a bit too bright of a disposition. Weevil was close to telling him buzz off, when he began to say some rather... interesting things.

Checking his pockets, Weevil found what the man spoke of. A gold coin. Weevil glanced to the Shopkeeper, then to the brackets. Whoever this guy was, he wasn't a competitor. Weevil put the coin back in his pocket, grinning at the Regular Shopkeeper.
"Well, thanks a lot Mister." Weevil said to the man. I wonder if they have Duel Monster cards... My deck is already close to perfect, but there's no harm in seeing what they have...

"So who are you?" Weevil asked the Regular Shopkeeper. "One of Master Hand's officials?"

"Ehh? A coin?"

Taking the almost cartoonishly sized coin out of his pocket, it felt as if it had no weight to it, like it wasn't even there. It was incredibly strange. Eyeing himself in the reflection of the metallic coin, he picked his teeth as the shopkeep began to explain himself. He only perked up when he realized he can buy stuff to be used in battle. After Weevil asked their question, Rex was quick to add on to it.

"Yeah, and what kind of stuff do we get?? I call dibs on the strongest one!"

Master Hand & Reala

"Hm. Perhaps your obligation is misguided, dear visitor." Reala replied to Chief, gestured to him with a clawed hand. "Might I remind you the purpose in which we are here."

"Speaking of that, it looks like the fights are rapidly coming to their ending points, well, save a few of them. I'm almost tempted to invite Crazy up here to bet on which one will make it to the VIP circle." Master hand mentioned.

Reala peered over towards a specific fight, one in which the brawling hadn't started yet. One that held none other than his own rival, and their best friend.

"...Hm, it appears the traitor is stalling out. Just what is their game?" He muttered to himself. "A part of me wishes they make it here, just so I can witness their defeat firsthand."

MASTER CHIEF

"Remind?"

Kalmiya was the one to respond to Reala, the Spartan offering a lack of input. He wasn't the talkative sort.

The hologram of Kalmiya momentarily flickered and vanished, before it projected in front of Reala in the air, her blue hands placed on her hips, a near-scowl besetting her face as she squinted at Reala in scrutiny. "Didn't you just say you're here because you were asked to come? Seems a little hypocritical to judge us, if you ask me."

Inkling “Blue”
”What the…” Blue cocked his head to the side as Rinku released four circular looking things from his bag. “Dude, we’re kind of in the middle of something here—HOLY MACKEREL!” The squid kid‘s eyes practically jumped out of his head in surprise as the yo-yos flew after him like buzzsaws. “How’s that even work?!” Blue yelled out in a confused frenzy as he turned tail and sprinted away. He was fast, but the yo-yos were catching up quickly!

Switching weapons, the squiddo fumbled a bit as he pulled out a different gun, one that was vastly different than the Splattershot in appearance and design. The rear of the weapon was a spray can, the kind of spray can that would be used to custom-paint a car. The middle of the weapon had exposed internals and an exposed spring that resembled the coil springs in car suspensions. The front of the weapon featured a flame design characteristic of custom-painted cars, which was painted on an object that resembled a muffler at the front of the weapon. The Blaster!

Blue aimed the weapon at the yo-yos right as they converged all around him and shot a glob of ink from the weapon, which flew slightly past the toys. However, the glob then exploded in a large blast, knocking the yo-yos far off-course and covering a large part of the ground in ink. The inkling wasted no time sprinting past the projectiles while they were ineffective and ran towards Rinku, swimming in and out of ink seamlessly in the process to refill his tank.

He pulled out a a clear canister with a nozzle on the top and threw it at Rinku. It would then change forms to resemble a a fish with a nozzle-like antenna on the front and chase him down. The Torpedo! At the same time, Blue threw a Suction Bomb in Rinku‘s flight path, wherever he was going, in an attempt to stick it on him while he was dealing with the Torpedo.

Taking a quick glance over at Dagr to make sure she was doing fine, the squid kid did a double take as he was met with the realization that she was not fine. She had a chunk taken out of her body! “AHH! Dagr, hey, what happened?! You ok?!”

Rinku

"Heh heh heh..."

Rinku was enjoying this. Inkling running from their demise. Temporarily throwing off the Yo-Yos that were after him, he threw a torpedo toward him along with a suction bomb. It seemed thrown as if to preparing for him moving...except he wasn't going anywhere.

"You think I would only fight you with one hand?"

From his other hand, four more Yo-Yos emerged, seeking out the Torpedo and the suction bomb. The Yoyos had enough time to grind a slice down to four sides of the torpedo before severing the rudder on the back. The torpedo lost momentum and its contents splattered against the sand between the two fighters. They quickly flew to the attack right after that, simply splitting the suction bomb down the middle, keeping up their attack to go right for inkling!

The other set of Yo-Yos, which had recovered from the knockback of the explosion, thrust forward. They began to revolve around the inking, their strings wrapping around their location at rapid speed, glowing a vibrant pink color. They were trapped! Right as the Yo-Yos came in on their location to gut them.

Reala

"Not simply by the hand, but by my Master." Reala corrected. "He has sought me to come, not only because of the Traitor's presence, but to assure the dominion of his will."

Eyeing Kamilya, and to an extent Chief, he floated just off the ground, cocking his head to the right as he approached her, since she had materialized in front of him.

"You were created with purpose, as well as your master. This game is not your purpose, so why meddle with things you do not belong?"

Noah didn't waste anytime, as his attack connected and tripped up Chai, the solider got ready to leap to his feet and follow up with another swipe from his sword. However it seemed like Chai had another plan in mind. Before Noah could even try and get up, the magnetic hand that gave Chai his abilities was suddenly clasping the blade.

The two were face to face, locked into a standstill. Chai made one of his usual snarky remarks, which Noah did his best to ignore and instead focus a way to get out of this situation. Unfortunately, he was hit by another surprise Quite literally this time, as Chai's robot companion suddenly made its way to Noah, swipping at his head with surprisingly powerful claws.

'Shit, I can't get out of this! If only I could swing my blade!' Noah cursed out in his head. If he could just move his sword he'd be able to...

No, he shouldn't, not here, especially this early. But if he wanted to win and move forward, for not just sake, but for Kragg and his friends back home, he'd do whatever it takes to win. With a deep sigh, Noah closed his eyes to focus, doing his best despite the cat wailing on his head.

"I didn't want to do this. But I'll try my best to not hurt you too much Chai." Eyes snapping open, his right iris once again shining with what could only be described as pure determination, Noah gripped the blade tight. Suddenly, the large red section of the sword suddenly seemed to break apart, and small pieces of it flying off and freeing itself from Chai's grasp.

They weren't gone long however, as the pieces flew back, covering Noah's left arm, greeting a gauntlet that spanned from his finger tips all the way up to his shoulder. In his right hand, instead of the bulky red blade, now sat a sleek silver katana like sword.

With his weapon free from Chai's grasp, Noah quickly leaped back to his feet and reached around with his gauntleted arm to grab 808 to toss her aside, while also swinging his blade down across Chai's back, making sure to aim with the blunt end. Without the bulky sheathe, the sword moved much faster than it did before.

Cayman
Kragg’s quick maneuver held Cayman back just long enough for the Earth’s Bastion to conjure a more durable rock restraint around the Duelist, almost like a strait-jacket. Within moments, the man was flung far—headed straight for a stone pillar with a hole in it. Cayman wasn’t a fan of this, struggling against his rocky restraints, cracks already forming in them. Still, he doubted he could escape before he was trapped in that pillar, so he needed a plan.

His body gleamed with Septimal energy, a layer of crimson enveloping the Adept before spreading out like a shockwave, Cayman’s voice roaring through the arena.

“Come over here and FIGHT me!”

Waves of crimson energy spread everywhere, and in an instant, Kragg would find himself pulled towards Cayman by an invisible force—the Adept’s manly willpower. The pull was even more powerful than Kragg’s pitch from a moment ago, causing the beetle to catch up with his opponent just before they reached the hole in the pillar. Cayman’s plan was simple: either they would both go in the hole, or neither of them would. A fair fight was what he wanted.

Grazie
“Just what do ya think you’re doin’?”

Knowing the sand tendril attached to her drill would surely do no good, the Adept was quick to dissipate it, a small explosion of magical energy bursting shortly afterward, sending sand flying outwards mostly harmlessly.

Grazie quickly retaliated with a stomp, her drill-like legs digging into the ground before the sands below Miracle shifted, surging forth as a trio of pointy sand pillars that would send him flying sky high!

With an iron-tight grasp on the red-skinned fighter's throat, Minos' blows were cut off early as he prepared to land the final strike. But.. then, it struck him. An epiphany, in the form of introspection. Just what was he doing just now? Him, the once merciful and diplomatic King Minos, now reduced to nothing but a shred of his former self, fueled with rage and bloodlust? For a drive to claim victory over a tournament of power? Would this not be something that his past self would stand against, to go against his peaceful principals of spreading nothing but love and friendship, instead opting to take part in petty squables over a reward none of them even know of its contents?

The former Judge let go of Jeice, glancing at his opened, outheld palm. Just why had he joined this event in the first place? No matter what reward may await him, was it really worth it to cast his goals aside? Sure, this prize might aid in his quest in re-establishing mankind's hope for survival.. yet, even when the Archangel Gabriel first came before him to strike him down, he had still attempted to negotiate, to no such avail. Yet.. when he looked down to Jeice.. he saw it.

In front of him, the bleeding, dying body of his former self. His own arms covered in white-plated, gold-rimmed armoured plating. In his hand, a sword of light, stained with blood. His blood. No. This was not how he wanted this to end. Even though all that Minos had established was torn down, there was still a glimmer of his old self left, which he'd finally embrace once more. No more grudges. No more spitefulness. With his arms lowered, Minos embraced the attack that was to strike him. And, moments before obliteration, only few words could escape him before his inevitable defeat came true.

" I'm sorry. "

Chai

"I didn't want to do this. But I'll try my best to not hurt you too much Chai."

"Huh? What do you mean by-"

That's when Noah's blade seemingly broke apart, his magnetic connection breaking at the same time. It reformed itself into armor, coating from Noah's arm to his shoulder. They also took the time to take 808 off his back and throw her rather harshly away!

"Mrrrraaarr!" 808 howled.

"808!"

Chai yelled after her, quickly looking to Noah's shoulder plate. Flexing his metal hand, he magnetized and grappled toward the now metal shoulder, haphazardly front flipping over the swinging blade. He severed the magnetic connection before he his the shoulder, overshooting Noah and snatching 808 in the air.

"I got you, buddy!"

Landing and skidding across the ground, he gave a flash of a smile to the cat, who nuzzled his cheek with her face. After Chai lightly tossed the cat up in the air, the machine transformed back into their spherical drone form, taking a backseat to Chai, going to his side. Getting up, he put a hand on his hip and the other pointed his guitar at Noah.

"You threw my cat, not cool dude."

♩♪ You better get ready to run,
'Cause here we come, oh, oh.♫♬

Putting his guitar on his back for the moment, he brought both of his hands forward, crossing them on his chest. A confident expression washing over him as he prepared for a new attack. Throwing his arms to his sides, his fingers curled. Suddenly, two golden colored clawed hands appeared overlayed over his own, growing in size, seeming more like scythed talons rather than full on hands.

"Rip and Tear! Ha!!!"

He threw his hands out like he was an animal clawing into something. That's when the two scything talons flew forward, spinning around and extending like lawnmower blades, whirling in to batter Noah to score the win!

♩♪ You better get ready to die (get ready to die)! ♫♬

MASTER CHIEF

"Easy!" Kalmiya grinned, placing her hands behind herself in a professional manner. "I was created for the purpose of locking down and deleting the rogue AI known as Cortana. My purpose is finished," now she let her hands fall loosely beside her. "My purpose now is to go wherever he goes, and his purpose is to fight wherever he's needed. Because... a purpose is like a mission."

She glanced back at Chief, as though recollecting something between them.

"And this missions change."

"They always do," the spartan concluded for her.

He wasn't about to go explaining his true reasoning for being here, a fact he'd only shared with Kalmiya, though he had a hunch Master Hand had already deduced as much. The Chief was here to prevent anything catastrophic from taking place. Whatever this new prize was that Master Hand had cooked up, if things went awry, the Master Chief was the answer. After all, he had spent time quite literally a part of the Nexus. It may have been gone, but some of it still remained, a deep latent part inside of the spartan. A "Gift of the Nexus" so to speak. While it didn't give him any immediate combat advantages he didn't already possess, it did make him mostly immune to powers Master Hand possessed, like erasure, or displacement. It made John something that the glove couldn't wave away, and with it, Chief hoped it would be enough to balance the scales and prevent another Nexus event from occuring.

His original promise to the Nexus had been to protect it, and to prevent its power from falling into the wrong hands. He had failed that first purpose. Its second he could still fulfill, providing checks and balances against Master Hands otherwise limitless potential for chaos and destruction, should he overlook his own devices again - one of those being "Dimension Games." Chief wasn't exactly happy about the existence of it. While the glove promoted the idea that he invited people, "Bootleg Bros." being indication of that, it was these Games where people appeared and were forced to kill one another in gladiatorial combat, and if John had heard correctly? Those that had escaped were seeking the hand out to dispense their idea of justice, an idea Master Chief didn't find misplaced.

"So you're like a bad guy, huh?" Kalmiya asked Reala. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but you definitely give me bad guy vibes. Back me up, Gunvolt, doesn't he seem like a villain?"

Gunvolt

“Er, yeah, gotta agree there,” the Azure Striker concurred. “Might be the big curled horns and color scheme giving off that vibe. No offense.”

That talk about a “Master Wizeman” left Gunvolt curious as well. As far as he could tell, Reala seemed to be a magical being, maybe even something beyond that. Could he be serving under someone somewhat similar to Master Hand in his respective universe? It didn’t seem too far fetched.

“If you don’t mind me asking, who’s this Master Wizeman? Sounds pretty important.”

"So your existence changes to get involved with affairs where you see fit? Hardly an inspired directive..." Reala commented, crossing their arms. "Coming, going, and meddling. Sounds chaotic and lacking of structure. While I hardly fault you for following your master, I fault your master for exceeding the boundaries of his."

Reala turned to Chief, the Nightmaren passing a judgmental gaze onto him as if he had already known him for years. He was going to wait for him to reply, but they quickly denoted him as a villain, asking him about his master, rather Gunvolt was compared to the AI.

"My master? Master Wizeman is the God of Nightmare. The waking world exists to provide him with tribute. It is by his hand that I was created and his will that I serve." He spoke, tapping his golden mask. "So long as their is life left to dream, so too will there be my Master."

Chai was quick to react to Noah's attack, and used his magnetism to quickly dodge out of the way and leap to his cat's aid. Noah watched the pair skid to a stop, 808 quickly returning back it's spherical form.

"Hope I didn't hurt her, just needed to get her off my back." Noah's gauntleted hand rubbed the back of his head. "She packs a hell a punch with those paws."

Noah chuckled to himself a bit, before quickly focusing up again, seeing that Chai was readying up another attack. Surprisingly, the guitar moved to Chai's back, as suddenly and strange golden claws found themselves appeared.

'Looks like I'm not the only one with a few hidden tricks' Noah thought, and he suddenly bent his knees, resting his blade by his side. The armoured hand gripped the guard of the sword, a white light of energy starting the build up in his sword.

Chai released the attack, the claws suddenly surging forward, closing in on Noah from both sides. Just as they were about to hit him, Noah leaped into the air, releasing the energy built up in his blade.

"Harmonic Wave!"

As if he was cutting the air itself, Noah swung his sword in front of him 4 times, each one sending a blast of thin razor sharp energy towards Chai, aiming to hit his chest. Noah landed to the ground, cursing out as he felt a pain surge through his feet. Glancing down, he saw he didn't completely avoid Chai's talons, as they left a nasty cut on his leg. He must have not noticed the adrenaline of unleashing that attack masking the initial pain.

"Harmonic Wave!"

As Noah unleashed the series of attacks toward the guitarist, two of the revolving claws reached up, attempting to get Noah. though he was now too far up to continue the assault, the continued to whirl around on the ground, fading away while Chai was faced with the impending Harmonic attacks coming in his direction.

Harmonic Wave? Harmonic...? As in vibrations? Harmony? That's all music was! Even that attack is somehow...harmonic. If I can just get the right frequency...I can harmonize and use it! Just like how I harmonized with 808!

Closing his eyes and gripping his guitar, he held it like an axe, right in front of his head. For him, time seemed to stand still. A bellow. A treble cleft. A high B. Somehow, he began to make sense of the mindless noise that came from the slices. It was in itself...making music. shifting his guitar slowly in this headspace of his, to the outside, it appeared he was just about to take the attacks full on. When the first one was about to strike-

BAM!

The guitar swung in the way of the strike, parrying it with a sound cue of a metal guitar note, glowing a strong tint of blue after it took the hit. It seemed to take a bit of damage, the exterior having some cracks, but mostly intact. He was...storing the attacks!

♫♬ You better get ready to die (get ready to die)...♩♪

BAM!

Another was parried, soaking into the guitar. The blue hue growing stronger.

♫♬ You better get ready to die (get ready to die)...♩♪

BAM!

Some miscellaneous pieces flew off, but the structure held, growing ever brighter. Chai's concentration becoming further stressed, his closed eyes wincing.

♫♬ You better get ready to die (get ready to die)...♩♪

BAM!

The fourth and final wave struck, the light now completely enveloping the guitar as sound waves and harmonic energies condensed. Flashing his eyes open, the rockstar looked directly back at Noah. For what seemed like a brief moment, it looked like through the blue light, his scrap guitar was actually a real, glossy red one. Placing his hands on the strings of the Guitar, the boy looked up.

"I think the song is sayin' it best." Chai spoke. "You better get ready...cause here it comes!"

♫♪ It's been a long time comin'
Now you better get runnin'
And you better get ready to die!!♩♫

TWAAAAAAAANG!!!

The loud sound of a guitar played out, a ribbon of blue sound waves shooting through the air towards Noah, energized and glowing visibly as the air distorted around it. The music reached its climax and the very attacks he had used fueled Chai's rebuttal even further! The power displayed would threaten to eliminate Noah in a single move!
