Rex

As Gardevoir began to cast her attack, glimmers of dazzling gleams beginning to appear, Rex just mused at the thought.

"Ha! You're a fool to think that's all my dragon can do! Watch this! Serpent Night Dragon! Shatter!"

The soul of the wicked knight bound inside of the dragon began to emanate from within it as the slender, snake like mythical creature flew upright. Its head's plate like extensions shot up in alert, a dark blue energy pulsating from it. That's when a flurry of electricity shot out from the monster! Each electric shock hitting each individual dazzling gleam shot coming its way. Shatter had unique properties, in which it dampened the offensive powers of targets it hit. This included the attacks themselves. Making it the perfect defense for number of shots!

Untouched from the attach in its entirety, Rex snapped his fingers. Megazowler shoved its face into the ground, before flicking its head up. This unearthed a large chunk of the lab's floor and the ground beneath as the dinosaur lobbed it ahead. Gardevoir had both its hands full...literally, and had light and lightning about all around her. The boulder would try to catch her off guard and smash her new one!

NEPH

Of course it could do... whatever it just did. Some sort of electricity-based attack, which powered through Dazzling Gleam. They attack itself seemed to shimmer out, as though being... drained...? Or... weakened. It powered through Dazzling Gleam, zapping its way up toward her. She let go of her psychic light, which flashed apart in a blinding fashion, completely concealing the gardevoir behind it.

Shatter struck, then the rock, but it continued to fly through the air, before disappearing into the distance. Nothing was left where Rex had launched his attack.

Neph winced, the last few sparks dissipating from her fingertips as she clung onto the side of the boulder. It had actually been a saving grace for her, as she was a very light individual, and when she'd noticed it headed for her... she simply hitched a ride. That attack had lowered her special stats, unfortunately. She was quick to use Calm Mind to restore them. If not for the rock, they would have been drained presumably further.

She held her hands forward as the boulder began to rapidly near the ground, before she swiped both arms to either side, as though tearing apart fabric. Another portal opened, and she drifted up off the boulder and above it, before quickly following behind, being quick about it, not wanting to exert too much energy keeping the portal active.

It had opened behind Rex, and in the same second it had, widening for the boulder Megazowler had thrown, the boulder came out, threatening to squash Rex where he stood, and from the angle the portal had opened, it felt at twice the speed it had been thrown (due to inertia and gravity) toward Serpent Night Dragon, and if it missed or hit, or simply passed through, it would return right back to Megazowler at its side.

The Pokémon landed barely a moment after, sensing Kirin's position. She was still alive, so what in the world was she doing? They needed to finish off this kid now.

Should Rex have survived, Neph would be quick to fire a few tracking shots of psychic blasts from her hand in an attempt to dispatch him at close range.

Ha! The lady was hit! It was all over now. Their combo was flawless! Nothing could ever-

Smack

"OOF-"

Suddenly, Rex was launched off the ground, flying up and in the air on the other side of the boulder! It had somehow teleported behind him? How was that even possible??

"AHHHHHH!!" The duelist screamed, completely out of control.

The Serpent Night Dragon was right on the collision course. The dragon moved an eyes toward the boulder before slickly sliding around it like a cat would, a back talon hooking Rex by the rim of his pants, now dangling from them like a fifth grader suspended from a flagpole. Hardly a glamorous way of escaping his fate, but it was an escape nonetheless.

The rock continued on its trek, just to arrive at Megazowler, who smashed the boulder into bits with one head smash. Snorting in anger as the boulder shattered on it's face, the dinosaur roared as it carved open a line of computer terminals with it's horns on his way over to her.

Seeing the targets very much intact, Gardevoir was quick to go on the offensive, living psychic spheres toward them. Now this attack was seen before against Uraby and Trakadon, and it appeared weaker than typically attack methods. Rex was still gaining his hearing and kicking his scrapes and bruises from the boulder, so it was down to Cretaceous creativity!

Serpent night, with Rex in claw, swerved up into the air, carefully dodging the oncoming psychic spheres with it'a upward mobility. Taking a talon and scraping the ceiling, i rentals began to rain down. Steel plates, glass shards, and miscellaneous debris. However, this was just a distraction. Loose cables began to be revealed, dangling, but still connected to defunct systems.

Using nightmare sonic blast subtly, it fired its shadow arrows underneath the the shadow that the wires cast...which lead right up to Neph! Since Rex had no idea what it was doing right now, there's no way Neph could get an inkling from his mind either!

Megazowler wasn't done either. As an incidental distraction for the nightmare arrows, the Dino preformed a sweeping charged. Coming at gardevoir from her right and bashing to the side with his head, looking to disorient and thruster her bloodied to the ground.

Mudkip
The Mud Fish Pokémon's attempts at waking his friend were futile. The creature fought back tears as he heard Dart approaching behind him. The Mudkip whipped around, with his legs spread wide in an aggressive stance and his teeth bared. He stood between Dart and Lucario, his display clearly telling the human to 'back off'. As far as Mudkip could tell, this human had let his Mr. Mime hurt his friend for no reason. A Growl reverberated in the back of the water-type's throat, but the noise that escaped his mouth wasn't befitting of such a small creature- it was a roar with the commanding presence of a Swampert! In that moment, the potential within surged invisibly outwards, unnerving even the bravest of foes. The technique caused the tiny amphibian to seem much bigger of a threat than before, and supernaturally lowered Dart's physical power.

Kragg
The pillar missed, and Cayman attempted to counterattack, but with a simple close of the beetle's fist the pillar shattered before the Adept could strike it. The chunks of rock flew to Kragg's hand, and he used the weighty hand to once again meet his foe's attack, though it wasn't so aggressive due to the lack of windup. Instead, it locked the two in a stalemate: enormous power versus enormous power. Perhaps a stalemate was not the correct term to use, as the Earth's Bastion still had a free hand to act with. He relented a bit with his occupied arm, allowing Cayman to gain some downwards distance, but not without also swinging his spiked arm down at the man.

Should the attack hit, the brute would follow it up by snatching up the smaller man and throwing him back into the wall head-first to hopefully cause some issues for Cayman's chiropractor to look at. The Wallrunner added in one more attack to finish off the combo: a charge with his deceptively sharp and utterly powerful horn to try and impale his foe!

Beam
The woman blocked his bite with her axe! This was the first thing that Beam couldn't chomp straight through, but that didn't stop him from repeated tries. The bite force snapped teeth off each gnaw, though in a true shark fashion there was always another one that slid into the previous one's place. Suddenly, the axe moved to the side- it was the devilman's opening! He gnashed his teeth again, but instead of tasting blood, Dagr's knuckles had rapped across his snout. This woman was strong; she smacked him away and knocked his head right back to normal! A trickle of blood had already began to run down his upper lip as he fell not into, but on the ground. He tumbled a couple feet in the sand before coming to a stop. It didn't take him long to get back up, but he was slightly different in demeanor. Dagr had knocked some sense into him, the shock of pain having gotten him out of a frenzied state... somewhat. He still maintained a wicked smile, but there was a little thought behind it, as he was considering what'd just happened between her unbreakable axe and impressive strength.

"Don't smell any devils with... weird. ...BITE AGAIN!!! KYAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!"

Beam dove into the ground again, but not before noting Rinku's use of sand. He circled Dagr again, with his fin poking out from the ground, but before long, it disappeared again. This time, he went for a much less violent approach. He breached right beneath Dagr, and as he rolled back into the ground, his shark head snapped at Dagr's shin!

Inkling “Blue”
The speed demon flew up to avoid the Curling Bomb, launching some sand particles into the air as he launched, and looked down from the air above with notable boredom. The messed-up child put a finger to his chin and elected that the best decision was to “break” Blue to ”spark motivation”. This prompted a brief disturbed reaction from the squid kid before he dived back into the ink, swimming away a bit before exiting with a short hop—

Only to be met with a rapidly approaching c h i l d. Rinku was apparently ready and waiting for him to exit and flew forwards with his hand extended, although Blue wasn’t caught too off-guard thanks to the benefits of the Angle Shooter, which allowed him to track his enemy. Thinking fast, the squiddo shot a burst of ink from the back/side of his Dualies, boosting slightly off-course to avoid Rinku‘s grab with a snarky smile.

Taking advantage of their close proximity and Rinku’s (supposed) brief confusion, the Inkling pulled out a Suction Bomb and went to stick it on his enemy’s body, and it would explode right after! If he missed, the bomb would fall to the ground instead and explode from there. Regardless of the outcome, Blue rolled along the ground immediately afterwards and opened fire again, tracking Rinku’s movements.

Jevil
Scythe met shield as the clown clashed with the knight, sparks and electricity flying as their equipment struck each other. Electricity coursed up the Devilsknife and into Jevil, causing his body to straighten in the air like a cartoon character, although his grin somehow remained wiped across his face. Alter Knight slashed at the jester with her sword, the blade connecting with his body. However, it didn’t do too much to him, not even a noticeable cut on his body. Jevil went flying back all the same though, with a loud grunt as well, so clearly he felt it anyway.

”Hee hee, not bad, not bad! But swords and shields were a simple fad that has long passed—“

BOOOOOOOM

A mushroom cloud explosion occurred in the streets below the building the two stood on, although the heat and air from the blast still reached them, causing the small jester to go flying back a little more, although he giggled as if he was having fun. His teammate was gone, but Jevil didn’t seem all too bothered. Looking at Alter Knight with rather explosive intent (one could say in honor of Ripper Roo), the clown summoned multiple bombs that he lobbed towards the ironclad woman. Each bomb would release a circle of spades in the area as well.

Looking to the side, Jevil saw Kassandra appear, visibly damaged from the explosion and leaning on a staff. With a squint, he summoned multiple waves of spades towards her. Several behind her, then even more in front of her, then considerably less above her, and finally quite a few from below in such a quick fashion that the projectiles looked like a pillar of white light!

Slash
Taskmaster fired a bulb-headed arrow towards the Sword Pokémon, who flew forwards to avoid it, only for it to explode behind him in a blast of sticky putty! Aegislash did not get too covered in the substance, but it did strike one of his arms and part of his hilt, weighing him down a bit, and being weighed down at all was immediately something Aegislash did not like, no matter how drastic.

Slash glared at the man as he wrestled his shield out of the air and slid it under one of his arms, saying something to his martial artist teammate and deciding that they’d switch targets. The Royal Sword Pokémon broadcasted a telepathic message towards Taskmaster with a squint.

I take it you are my opponent now, masked man. Let us duel.

Aegislash swung his body and sliced the air three times, sending three sharp projectiles of decent size through the air towards Taskmaster. One was horizontal, another was diagonal, and the final one was vertical. Slash would adjust his aim for each projectile in case Taskmaster moved.

Rinku

Oh. He was going to play mister speed.

Very well then.

Who was he to deny a kid a death wish?

As the inkling dodged, Rinku grew a long, sinister grin. As if he were begging for an excuse to turn things up a notch. Immediately darting to the side in a flicker of speed, Rinku spun around and around in medium range, flying in a circular motion as his shoe dragged along the sand all the while. The speed along with the sand kicking up starting to create a spinning sandstorm, the ink peeling off the saturated sand and into the air...there was nothing for Inkling to dive into anymore!

The bomb, before it hit the ground, was swept into the air current, exploding halfway up in the air, the paint being carried up through the funnel and out through the top, resembling an oil drill site as paint spewed out and splotched messily on some concrete that lead further deep through the topography of the island.

Isolated and without an easy method of escape, inkling remained in the middle of the cyclone. Rinku? He now stood outside, sneering before lunging into the cyclone at top speeds, flanking the inkling where they couldn't see and sweeping to punch them at the back of their skull!

Audrey
"What the hell-!?" Audrey was caught off guard as she was stopped from making any further attack with her dominant hand on her sword, seeing Ryuji's gun ready. For all her determination, that gun about to fire did in fact inspire some fear in the Hero. Still, she remained resistant as he readied to fire, pulling and trying to shove back. The force of the shot clattered against Audrey's body, the point blank shotgun knocking her off of Skull's arm a good distance, giving him plenty of room away from the Hero, as she herself fell on her back, wounded and dazed. "Gh...!" She groaned as she got to her feet, raising her sword once more to summon lightning into the blade as she got ready, as if trying to prepare something beyond what her bloodied eyes of rage were willing to reveal for now. Fire flared up on the side of her injured side, causing to groan as she struck the ground ahead to keep the lightning away from the fire. It hurt, and she was clearly struggling to stay on her permanently as she struggled to fight on but kept going on anyway.

That determination, the same that had destroyed a universe, would not fail her on her last legs as blood failed to blend into her clothes and dripped to the ground.

Axe
Axe quickly stepped back to avoid the spike, growling a little but choosing to adapt around this. While the shield striking the shield forced Axe back slightly with a grunt, he also noticed the gap. At the same time, his shield also slid off to the side - And not a short distance, in fact it was rather close to Grazie and the magician.
Axe quickly thought on his current options;

He could try and take advantage of the gap in Magolor's magic shield and throw a lit firecracker in - Even if the shield somehow blocked it, he might have been been able to damage it easier - But Magolor would have plenty of time to adapt (He assumed, not realising Magolor may have been caught off guard when knocked back) around the attack.

He could attempt a run to his shield, possibly getting in-between his ally and other foe - But the long distance would leave him rather open, plus he wasn't entirely sure of everything Magolor could do from a distance.

Another option was to attempt a suicide run. Light the firecracker and dive at Magolor, blow both of them up - He wasn't so keen on this eye, and not just because dying was a terrifying notion even with the green stone avaliable. What if it fell out of his satchel without him noticing, or something didn't click? Besides, he didn't want his friends in the stands to think he was seeking death or getting reckless.

Then he had an idea as his eye darted to his satchel - a pretty much empty bottle of perfume, and the red stone. Normally, the former would be useless in this state, but maybe....!
"Then why don't you prove it, monster!" He roared to the magical fighter, both as a taunt and to fire himself up, charging forward towards Magolor. He brought up the bottle and pressed down to 'spray' it, moving quickly enough to where, assumedly, Magolor wouldn't have the chance to notice that it was empty, his other hand with the red stone lowered before it came to strike up through the shield's gap with an uppercut, the Power Of Fire behind it as it barrelled towards the alien's face!

DART

Oh. Well. Diplomacy had failed.

But that was hardly a disappointment.

Them's the rules.

"Alright, finally!" Dart grinned from ear to ear. Despite Growl taking effect, the mercenary seemed hardly phased. His vast experience had left him somewhat desensitized to anything considered "threatening" to the point that Shana had to convince him out of catching a shark, because it "would not listen to him" (something Dart highly doubted, but he respected his wife enough to obey her wishes).

He was immediately upon the Mudkip with an excited laugh, slashing Heat Blade through the air to cut down on the amphibian with an overhead strike.

KASSANDRA

Jevil was quick on the uptake, seemingly trying to bury the misthios in his spades. She responded with a mere squeeze, her grip on the staff tightening, its head lighting up, before a supernatural energy was expunged in all directions, like a field of electricity in appearance alone. The spades and it collided, and all dissipated as the field dispersed.

The Staff of Hermes remained lit with its mysterious power, and almost as though in response to Jevil's attack, several orbs of energy began to materialize all around the jester, closing in like his spades would have. If he dodged, or teleported, the orbs would re-lock onto him. If he tried to block or deflect them, they'd explode with an acid-like response, weakening the integrity of whatever they struck.

It felt almost cowardly to the spartan woman, but her defense against the spades was already beginning to build up some of her adrenaline charges back up. A stoic, though confident expression lined her face. Roo had surprised her, and paid with his life, but this clown was kidding himself if he thought she'd be an after-thought victim to his funny business.

Alter Knight
”Hee hee, not bad, not bad! But swords and shields were a simple fad that has long passed—“
Bold words for someone who was just struck by one
, Alter Knight thought. Just then, a powerful explosion sounded off, strong enough to quake the earth and the building Alter stood on, yet she kept her balance. A quick glance to the side revealed Kassandra, heavily damaged but no Ripper Roo! Did that mean..
A shame she wasn't the one to deal the finishing blow, but Alter Knight had to focus. Her sword and shield have served her well, but given Jevil's choice to assault her with projectiles, she felt gracious enough to accommodate him. Her weapon and shield sparked with electricity, changing form in a flash to Libera Type B, which was in the shape of a bow! Alter Knight pulled the string back, charging energy into the single arrow before firing it upward, where it split into a massive amount of arrows! They rained down around Alter Knight, striking down Jevil's spades and bombs. As they did, Alter Knight prepared another arrow and aimed at Jevil. Wherever he moved, she would fired a sparking arrow, strong enough to pierce through Kass's orbs, and likely to burst upon striking Jevil, causing Kass's other orbs to explode around Jevil in a chain reaction!

Magolor
The trickster mage enjoyed the conflict he saw in Axe's face as he considered his options. This was fun!
Axe calling him a monster was less so.
"How rude." Magolor sighed. "I'm just a vendor, you know."
Axe decided on a strategy, which consisted of a similar tactic to last time. Magolor's flicked towards Axe's shield, before going back to Axe, seeing him pull the bottle out again. Magolor was sure he already wasted it, but he was hardly taking a chance. Just before Axe could strike his magic shield, he dropped it and burst forward, swerving to the left while surrounding by hard winds! Using his patented "Magolor Surge" move, Magolor dashed beside Axe, but the kid proved faster than he expected, striking a blow on Magolor's side as he passed Axe. Magolor grunted as he felt the punch, though his winds thankfully protected him from a taking the full brunt of the attack, as well as slicing at Axe himself! As Magolor passed, he left a present in the form of three magic bombs that detonated around Axe, before making a break for Axe's shield! It looked like Grazie's shovel wasn't enough for the conniving mage!

Ryuji
The girl proved tougher than he thought, tanking the blast head on and even remaining standing after the burn, which would damage her for three posts turns, whatever that would mean here. But, she was barely standing. Maybe just one good swing would-
"Skull!" Oracle called worriedly. "Behind you!"
Ryuji turned behind himself to see a different attack! attempting to strike him from behind! The shuriken was far too wide to leap out of the way, and he didn't know if he could jump-
"Crap!" Ryuji attempted to back away for the blade, only to trip over his own feet, landing hard. Thankfully, Nott allowed the shuriken to rise just high enough for it to fly above Ryuji while he lay flat on his back, only ruffling his already messy hair. His head still hurt though.
"Ahhh...dammit!" Ryuji groaned.
He heard Oracle sigh. "Well, better than getting cut in half. You gotta be careful."
Ryuji could only nod. His fall may have luckily avoided serious damage, but it also left him open for Audrey to attack...assuming she could avoid her own ally's shuriken, that is!

Kirin
Things were starting to get chaotic. That new dragon was nothing like Rex's dinosaurs, acting a lot more independently and pulling some clever tactics that kept Neph on her toes. If Kirin didn't step in soon... well, the odds of losing went up a lot.

As Serpent Night Dragon worked to gain the upper hand on Neph, several waves of fully infused talismans flew out from the hole in the wall. None of them actually hit any enemies, instead becoming lodged along the floor, walls and ceiling. Given how Rex was disoriented and Serpent Night Dragon had never seen them before, gauging the Battle Priestess' next move would be near impossible. She doubted Megazowler would catch onto things either, since it didn't seem to be the cunning type.

Eventually, the dragon made its next big move, summoning a series of shadowy arrows that headed for the nearby shadows, intercrossing with the Gardevoir's own for a powerful attack. It was at this moment that a peculiar aura enveloped the hallway, and Kirin's own move came into play.

The talismans lining just about every surface came to life with a flash of light (no doubt holding back the shadows at least a little), spawning dozens of azure-colored copies of the Adept everywhere. In an instant, they all sped towards the nearest target with their swords out, ready to slash at at their foes. Some of them headed for Megazowler, others zooming towards Serpent Night Dragon---

But the true target of it all would be Rex. A majority of the clones would fly towards the duelist, looking to put him out of commission once and for all (though without ending his life, as per the priestess' wishes). Should Serpent Night Dragon move to avoid those headed for itself or attempt to move Rex out of the way, it would only put it and its duelist in the path of other clones, making this strategy a devastating one!

Cayman
Cayman's muscles grew hotter and hotter as the clash went on, the Iron Delinquent gaining a brief advantage---before Kragg went to swing his free arm, something the Duel expert could see coming. In an instant, flames burst from the man's boots, sending him flying upwards, though the beetle's swing knocked him a little off his intended course, causing him to move backwards more than he wanted to. It didn't matter though, his next move would still be a fun one!

The Duelist raised an arm, body glowing a bright crimson. In an instant, he came crashing down, slamming his fist into the ground a few feet from Kragg, a large explosion going off on impact. Rocks went flying everywhere, and there was a chance the Earth's Bastion would be caught by the edge of the blast. The real attack came next however, as Cayman suddenly burst from the resulting smoke, body covered entirely by flames as he practically flew towards his opponent, looking to slam into him with a devastating piledriver!

Pit
"I'm not going down just yet! If anything, you should be the one worrying about losing here!"

It was a bit of a bluff, to be honest, but the determination was there. Copies of M.O.D.O.K. started popping up again, but Pit was equipped with a much better fire rate this time, shots of very sharp water flying out as if the angel was wielding a machine gun, working to take down the clones more efficiently than the last time they'd popped up. Honestly, he should've gone with the Aquarius Blade a lot sooner. It was very reliable.

Of course, he couldn't shoot 'em all down before they prepared their next attack, each Man-Mind wielding a sci-fi looking gun in their right hands. They all fired in unison, prompting the angel to engage evasive maneuvers, weaving in between and out of the way of the incoming beams---before one finally struck his side, knocking the wind out of Pit as he let out a grunt, feeling some pain shooting through his body.

Then the psychic rays struck.

"Aauuugh!!!"

The combined pain was on another level, Pit clutching his head, unable to think straight. Palutena was in control of his flight path, working to move Pit out of the way of any more incoming attacks.

"Hang in there, Pit! You can do it!"
Eventually, the pain subsided at least a little, just enough for the angel to gain his bearings, though he did not fire back at M.O.D.O.K. just yet.

"Worst... migraine... ever... Want... a hot spring..."

"Sorry, but no hot spring just yet. Just a little more and we'll be done here, so don't stop fighting!"

"Alright..."

He was going to need a moment to fully recover from that one.

Audrey
Audrey scowled as she tried to hide her pain, raising her sword as she saw the shuriken coming - Using it to reflect the attack to the side before she limped slightly over to Ryuji, attempting to crush him with her electricity infused blade - The lightning coming out at the same time as the lightning.

Axe
A part of Axe had to expect Magolor's movement, but he was still a little surprised at how much he moved. In fact, it was rather annoying how quickly he moved away, pushing Axe back further away as the boy felt the strong winds rattle against his skin, groaning at the pain from their slicing. He wasn't exactly sure if Magolor was just getting lucky, or if he had easily seen through his split-second made plan, but he had to stop the creature from getting his weapon too - it was honestly really annoying that he had already taken his ally's weapon. The bombs may have appeared, but they did little to deter Axe as he suddenly pounced forward away from the explosives, leaping over Magolor and landing in front - And slamming his fist down towards the creature's face.

The dragon's shadow attack had mostly gone off without a hitch, subtle and unnoticeable. However, the tail even of it had been wobbled and disrupted by a flash of light immediately seeking out this disturbance, though serpent dragon was met with dozens of copies of the Kirin, all rushing towards it or something else. How strange...was she not supposed to be wounded?

At this point, Rex had begun to clear his vision, no longer seeing double as his wits came back to him. However, it didn't seem like that to him, because he saw many of the same Kirin come right his way! Rubbing his eyes and squinting, he was trying to make sure what he was seeing was accurate.

Serpent Night Dragon wasn't waiting though. Nor was it dodging. Instead, its thin body raised up, the spikes on its head angling upwards before it preformed a Shatter attack. The strands of lightning shot out from itself, each one breaking apart a Kirin and severing their connections to the talisman, each talisman losing its glow and fading due to the properties of the attack.

"Wha-!" Rex exclaimed, getting jarred back to reality from the light show. "What happened? ...Was I hit by a giant rock just now?!"

Going beyond this, the electricity would continue to arc clone to clone before it would zap the real one, no doubt diminishing whatever power Kirin had left at her disposal!

Magolor
As the mage floated towards Axe's weapon, its owner proved agile enough to leap over him, about to cut him off! Yet Magolor seemed unsurprised, giving a low giggle. He brought his hands up as if surrendering.
Wait...where was Grazie's shovel?
As Axe went for his blow, the shovel revealed itself, bursting underneath Axe while covered in sand spikes! A move that risked losing the weapon, but that how it was for Magolor's patented technique: The....uh....Magolor Shovel!
Nailed it.
Even if the Axe avoided the attack, Magolor's raised hands would unleash multiple balls of magic that home in on the kid while he was open, before hastily attempting to retrieve the shovel.

Ryuji
Audrey reflected the attack, managing to close in on Ryuji despite her limp. It was almost admirable if she wasn't trying to kill him in cold blood. Ryuji brought up his Mjolnir again, holding Audrey's sword back from crushing him, before retaliating with a kick! Whether she was knocked away or not, he would summon William to follow up with a God's Hand!

Just as Noah had predicted, Chai had dodged out of the way of the blade swing. Chai clearly had some experience in one on one fights like this, his quick reflexes proving to be a problem for Noah. 'I need to be able to keep up with his pace, that's the only way I'm going to have an edge in here...' With this thought in mind, Noah paid close attention to whatever move Chai was about to pull off.

His stance steady, he watched the loose pieces of scrap metal move towards Chai, transforming the end of his weapon into a sharp almost spear like weapon. It suddenly lunged forward towards Noah, aiming to stab him. It was only a few seconds, but in that moment, Noah let out a soft breath, closed his eyes and just focused.

"Mio..." He suddenly whispered as his sword disappeared yet again, being replaced by a set of dual ring shaped blades of the Zephyr class. He remembered the lessons his partner taught him about the weapons, they're small size making it easy to move quick and dodge enemies. His eyes snapping open, he quickly dodged under the incoming stab, and now that Chai was in close, he used the twin blades to slash out in front of him trying aiming to hit Chai's chest.

Chai

The swinging blades he was meaning to penetrate through had shifted before he could pierce through him, a pair of Chakrams taking their place. The quick shift had Chai surprised.

"...Ehhh??"

Pang!

A ring slashed up across his chest, causing the section of his shirt to tear, causing a gash to form on his chest before striking the metal lodged in the center of his body. The harsher steel got a deep scratch, but the Armstrong tech held tough. This knocked Chai off his rhythm, falling the rest of the way back to the ground, his sneakers skidding down the slopes concrete path. 808, nearly falling off Chai, clutched the boy's face in a panic as their tail stood on end.

♩♪ You better get ready to die (get ready to die).
You better get ready to kill (get ready to kill). ♫♬

"Owowow..." Chai hissed through his teeth. "I thought for sure that would work!"

"Interesting...I've never seen such a multipurpose weapon before." Pepperiment remarked through 808, who settled back on Chai's shoulder. "Hammer, sword, and disks. I wonder where all that matter is being generated from."

"...Hey, my weapon is very multipurpose too!"

"Right...well if you're done stroking your ego, we need to find an advantage. He's adapting to your tactics. You're lucky that last attack wasn't more damaging than it was as is. Perhaps using this terrain to our advantage. Maybe somewhere in higher ground or in a space he can't operate as fluidly."

"Terrain, huh?"

Turning around, he remarked on the large, neon Ferris wheel perched near the summit. Resting his guitar on his shoulder and his hand on his hip, he nodded at the Ferris wheel.

"That'll work."

Turning around to Noah, he slid him a sly smirk and a wink.

"Nice bling you got there, but let's see ya get a hit in!"

He gave an antagonistic salute to Noah before throwing his guitar out in front of him. Leaping on it, Chai rode it like a hoverboard, an almost clear trail of blue coming from behind him as he raced up the mountain with haste. 808 sticking out her tongue as the wind raced across the AI's face.

♫ You better get ready to run
'Cause here we come, oh, oh.♩♪

Dagr

Her punch had knocked Beam back, and evidently back into his normal form. Even so, that didn't spoil Beam's fighting spirit. Dagr grinned, gripping her ax once again. Excellent. Glancing down, Dagr noticed a few shark teeth that had fallen out.
"Oooh, neat." Dagr said. Beam spoke of how she smelled, which Dagr guessed she took as a compliment (how does one smell like a devil?). As he spoke, Dagr knelt down, took one of the teeth, and slipped it into her pocket. The shark devil dove into the ground once again, and Dagr began to run to the right.

Shark fin, then gone. Dagr was beginning to understand his strategy. She had seen hit and run tactics before, but not quite like this! It was like nothing she had seen before, and she was loving this new and fresh challenge. Then, Beam emerged from directly under her! Dagr tried to jump away as he snapped at her, and his teeth scraped the side of her leg. Blood began to seep out of a trio of three gashes.

"YEOUCH! No! Bad Beam!" Dagr yelled. The Jötun Princess attempted to grab Beam by the shark fin as he dove under the ground. If she was able to, she would try to swing Beam around and throw him into Rinku as the devil kid jumped into the whirlwind!

Taskmaster
"Huh, so you can talk. Good. I was starting to get bored."

The sword swung itself around, slower due to the putty, but it launched crescent-shaped energy projectiles as it did. Now where had he seen that before? It had a very similar look and behavior to Shaymin's Air Slash, though it was noticeably larger. That didn't make it any less of a simple matter to avoid. He flipped over the first one quite easily, and landed in a crouching position. Then like a spring, he heaved himself at the second and plowed through it with his shield. Then the third one came; a vertical swipe, which he twirled away from.

"Really? Half-assed projectiles? I expected more. Guess you don't want this thing back as much as I thought you would," Taskmaster taunted as he now wore the King's Shield on his other hand.

Mudkip
Despite the Growl, Dart grinned from ear to ear. Uh oh. The man was upon him with a shocking burst of speed, and as he tried to avoid the following sword swing, the warrior proved faster, and the Heat Blade caught the water-type in the side. However, the enhanced damage it had against small water creatures was canceled out by Mudkip's steel/fire resistance, and it left a mark. The Pokémon slid through the grass with a grimace. A trainer? Fighting? What? And his sword hurt more than Mudkip expected it to.

"...Kip!"

The creature pushed itself up, swinging its arm upwards as it did. The arm oozed a slick, thick mud that was flung towards Dart's face! The surprise attack had a force behind it that'd make it feel like being slapped full-force by a grown man, and if it hit, the attack would make it harder for Dart to see! He was still on the fence about fighting- that Mud Slap was still meant to discourage his attacker. Mudkip backed closer to the ledge...

Kragg
The Earth's Bastion wasn't caught off-guard by Cayman dropping right in front of him and spawning a huge shockwave. However, the beetle wasn't expecting the sheer power of the sizable shockwave, which tore through his rock shield and knocked the Wallrunner back. Kragg had no time to recover before his foe was upon him again with a power-shrouded elbow. It struck him in his chitin chestplate, and carried him a ways. However, as soon as he got his wits about him, both arms came forward to crush Cayman in a pincer punch!

Beam
The shark-headed devil rolled back into the ground, licking a bit of blood from his fangs. It was delicious, though it tasted a bit different than human blood. As the shark was distracted, he failed to avoid the jotun princess snagging his dorsal fin. He went into full alert, attempting to dive with all his strength, but physics failed him as he was yanked out by the powerful warrior. His head was human again as she flung him by the fin.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!"

Beam soared towards his teammate, though Rinku had plenty speed to take advantage of Beam's unintentional warning. The demon child avoided the devilman, and Beam continued into the ocean behind. With a splash he recovered, ready to chomp again. He poked his head out of the water, smelling sand, ink, and blood. While the blood was enough to make any shark salivate, Beam's human half spotted something that was even more enticing: captive prey. Blue was trapped, like a squid in a fishing net. With a devilish grin, the shark fiend sunk beneath the waves.

A moment later, he erupted beneath the Inkling, with no warning like he was used to from battling the Salmonid Maws. To add to the surprise, as far as he knew with his limited visibility, Dagr had him handled. Yet if he managed to dodge in this restricted space, a plume of sand followed him, filling the eye of the storm with the ink-absorbing stuff. Rinku was still doing his thing, so if the squid kid thought he'd get a breather for even a second he'd be dead wrong. The demon child attacked with blurring speed from the cover of sand a couple times as Beam twisted in the air above, topping it all off with a second chomp as he fell!

Kool Kats
Another laser came Troy's way. He rolled his eyes, because this chic's moves were getting stale. No matter how bored he was, it was fortunate for him that he knew how to handle it. He skid to the right as Vortex Balls enveloped his feet. Then she turned her attention to the massive laser shuriken behind her, as if Troy wasn't a threat. To prove her wrong, he raced up behind her, and as she knocked the weapon upwards, the cult leader came in behind her with a Vortex Ball-enhanced fist. It would explode in a small wave of concussive force upon contact with the back of her skull, accelerating her head towards the ground should she be struck.

The laser shuriken flew overhead, but made a sharp turn back to Troy, who was already on the move. It turned back into a sword as it reached the narcissist's hand. He jumped, the orbs of wind around his feet dissipating as he did, and he landed on top of Ryuji. One foot on the back of his head, and the other on his hunched back. Ignoring the presumably pissed Phantom Thief below him, Troy spoke to William directly.

"Yo. You's rad. What say you ya ditch these squares and hang with the Kool Kats?"

NEPH

Somehow, Rex survived.

That should have taken him out. Neph's gaze darkened as she watched the serpent dragon weave through her attacks like some overgrown aerial Huntail. For seemingly no reason, it scraped along the ceiling (or more accurately, what little of the ceiling remained), raining debris down and exposing hanging cables of wires.

Despite the monster's attempts at subtlety, the gardevoir was already on high alert from shadows, and as her gaze quickly dropped to see the new shadows lining the arena, she could logically deduce exactly what this meant. It was here that Kirin's own counter-offensive was launched, and a light began to shine. Many of the shadows were retroactively eliminated, perhaps unintentionally by the priestess, and what remained was dispatched with haste by Neph's own move of summoning the light, though this time it only appeared as a flash from her (though lacked the effects the actual move "Flash" brought), momentarily exterminating her own shadow.

However, her aim was something else. Kirin had turned her focus on the dragon, and Neph knew the girl would have better time with it, than with the big guy. As the debris finally began to land, a few chunks bouncing off of Neph's helmet, she telekinetically hurled herself upward, just over the bash attack from Megazowler - and promptly made to land on its back. Even if it began to buck and bay, and frantically throw her off, she would be impossible to budge. She was not riding it, she was rising on the power of her own mind, and such a simple creature could not buck that.

However, she wasn't going to give it too much time to recollect itself and find a way to magically remove her from its back. A ripple of pink energy echoed from the gardevoir, almost like the air began water in front of her, and a psychic attack was launched against Megazowler's mind: Hypnosis, aiming to put it to the ground, and make it a cakewalk to annihilate. However, considering accuracy and whatnot, she was quick to fire a few basic psychic blasts at the base of its skull, before the extension of its armored head came up.

M.O.D.O.K.

Pit had flown some distance away, leaving the oversized villain(s) behind to make an attempt at recovery, but he wasn't given that time at all, it would seem, as Palutena was quick to warn Pit to get moving, his wings flashing as he leapt away from the chunk of earth he'd reached. As he left it behind, another chunk of earth smashed into it, having been thrown by the Man-Mind's telekinesis, resulting in the both of them shattering apart.

Pit was forced to dart between several more of these platforms, each time having to propel himself further away to avoid more of the telekinetic attacks, earth and lab equipment flying in every direction with each impact, the amount of platforms rapidly beginning to dwindle in the arena.

Pit grit his teeth as he pushed himself as far as he could go, seeing two large platforms converging on him from either side, aiming to pancake him between them. As they impacted, the force of their eruption in a shower of earth knocked the angel off-balance, and he tumbled back to another platform - the one this fight had begun on, the largest of them all. He was quick to push himself back to his feet, turning his head to see where M.O.D.O.K. had gone, but somehow, the Mechanized Organism had disappeared.

That is, until...

"IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU FALL TO THE INEVITABILITY THAT IS YOUR TOTAL ANNIHILATION!"

From the side of the giant platform, off the ledge, rose M.O.D.O.K., propelled slowly up to eye-level with Pit by his rocket as sheets of golden metal began to shift from the Doomsday Chair, sliding to snap into place over the A.I.M. Leader's face, concealing his massive head in an equally massive helmet.

"YOU CANNOT BEGIN TO GRASP HOW UTTERLY INFERIOR YOU AND YOUR GODDESS ARE. MY GENIUS IS UNPARALLELED!" THe voice boomed from behind the helmet, magnified to a near-painful volume as the covers to the arm chair opened up, revealing the four laser cannons, already having revved themselves up, and they immediately began to fire at the angel, red lasers raining upon him with extreme prejudice.

DART

The creature was batted aside, but retaliated by flinging - no, conjuring a thick mud that splattered forward. The mercenary raised his arm, turning his body slightly, letting the attack hit his armor and his pauldron's shoulder-guard that shielded his face from that angle. It didn't budge him by much.

That attack hit with the strength of a full-grown man's slap! He thought.

But he kept moving with his turn, using it to pick up some momentum, and spring again toward the amphibian, this time performing a horizontal slash as the distance closed, and if it landed, he'd be utilizing MADNESS HERO, his speed drastically increasing to keep on the Mudkip and deliver and frenzy of blows without letting up.

Nótt

CLANG!

Even in her current state, if Troy thought Nótt was vulnerable with her back turned, he was wrong. Nótt's Jötun eagle had kept vigilant watch, keeping an eye on threats that Nótt herself was unable to see. It raised its wings as Troy attacked, blocking the cult leader's punch. Although the attack was weakened by the eagle's metal wings, Nótt was still slammed into the ground by it. What embarrassment. Was she doomed to struggle through the entire fight under this curse?!

The moment she struck the ground, Nótt felt a jolt of energy course through her! The strange paralyzing curse Troy and Allison had placed on her had worn off. The Princess jumped back to her feet, turning back to face the combat. The two opponents had turned their attention to Skull, both focusing on him. It was time for her to jump back into the fray.

"Finally..." Nótt said. The Princess fired another blast from her lance, shooting between Ryuji and Audrey to cut off the hero before she could attack the Phantom Thief. She sprinted over, quickly closing the distance to Audrey.
"Quite a challenge!" Nótt exclaimed. She lunged towards Audrey with her lance, attempting to use her weapon's longer reach to attack Audrey from a distance beyond the slashing range of the hero's sword.

Megazowler was in a tough spot. Ring after ring of Hypnosis washed over it. A smaller creature would have been out to sleep on the spot. But since the creature was colossal due to its size being doubled, the hypnosis was slower to take hold. The creature bashed its head against the ground, attempting to use the impacts to keep it awake. This helped to stave it off, at least for the moment, but the hypnosis was not so slowly winning out. The psychic blasts were dissuading it from trying to fight is, hitting him on attempts to bash his head into the ground. This in itself though somewhat helped him fight it. But it wouldn't last long. It's knees starting to quiver and it's Jurassic heartbeat slowed.

"What do you think you are doing to my dinosaur?!?"

The shrill voice of Rex was undeniable. The dragon he was being ferried by swooped down to gardevoir, making a circular pass right around her and Megazowler. Emitting right from Megazowler's own shadow shot out several shadowy arrows, ones that didn't seem ti match this mortal plane. The shadows fired up from all side of Megazowler, racing through the sky and aiming to rip Gardevoir apart with an onslaught of shadowy projectiles. There was no way out a swarm this large!

Shaymin
The kick landed and, though it wasn't very effective, it still knocked the Gratitude Pokemon quite a ways away. Shaymin wanted to keep up in his Sky Form.. but, seeing how his opponent was one to throw out punches and kicks so far, he had to change up his strategy a bit. Using the distance gained to his advantage, the Pokémon changed back to his hedgehog-like land forme and roared up a sort of loud cry, the surrounding area starting to glow green.

" Shaaaayyyyy! "

Grass, but most of all flowers begun sprouting and blooming out of the ground, destroying the concrete and rocks underneath, even some growing out of the walls due to the area's rather small size. This was, of course, Shaymin's own Grassy Terrain, covering the battlefield in a set of flowers that would enhance his grass attacks even further, growing over and entangling all objects on the ground, ground-quaking attacks to be reduced to half their normal attack power and restore (albeit a very miniscule) amount of health for all grounded fighters gradually. (Though

And then, the Grass-Type simply waited, looking on to his foe for their next move. Whatever it ended up being, Shaymin would hope it would be something he'd have a counter to. Oh, and he also waited for Leech Seed to take its effect again, because even with the type advantage, he couldn't just get careless like this too often.

Mr. Miracle

" Ah, ah, ah! While I would say Mimicry is the greatest form of flattery, you forget one simple thing, my dear! "

The open palm that was supposed to catch the incoming fist would disperse, trying to intermingle with the re-forming fist, Hagen trying to wrangle control from Grazie and keep her distracted for what was the main course - his fist that was caught by her palm would open up, interlock fingers and end up pointing its fingertips exactly at Grazie, which in turn would have the tips burst open and release a spread shot worth's of small magic missiles from within each finger, surely showering Grazie in a whole world of hurt should she be unable to do something about it!

" There's a reason I shaped them the way they are! Your sand sculpting skills are fantastical, but nothing will beat my phenomenal sleight of hand! "

Minos
The former Judge of Hell exchanged blows with the red-skinned alien, fists and kicks meeting one another. His final strike was interrupted, his leg taken by his foe. But, Minos would not go this way alone. While Jeice was about to swing him, the previous King of the Lust Layer attempted to grab his opponent's own arm to take him with and use him as a cushion or, in other terms, to both slam him into the ground and use him to soften the impact he'd have on the ground! Even if this had failed and Minos were to face a barrage of blasts, his own strategy was to use his serpent projections to block the ki blasts and return fire with an orange, volatile serpentine blast of his own!

The Alright Attorney

Just as Noah had hoped, his blades managed to hit Chai across the chest, leaving what looked to be a nasty cut along Chai's chest. When eyeing up this mark, Noah noticed what looked to be a piece of machinery in Chai's chest. Was it connected to that arm of his and what he could do? Maybe it could be a weak point. All things to keep in mind as this fight progressed.

As Noah noted this, Chai seemed to be having a conversation with someone. Presumably someone who could see fight and give him advice. "How are they..." The Kevesi soldier thought to himself, before his eyes narrowed in on the cat like creature that clung close to Chai. Noah assumed it had to be mechanical in nature, as it changed forms, going from a drone to it's current feline appearance. Perhaps Chai had someone who could look through that thing to give him advice. Taking that thing out of the picture could prove to be useful.

Their attack finished, the Zephyr rings disappeared and Noah's sword returned to his grip, just as soon as Chai seemed to wrap up his conversation. With a smirk and salute, the musician taunted Noah and rode on his weapon away from the fight, seemingly moving towards what looked to be a giant wheel. It slowly spun around, suspending what looked to be compartments for people to sit in around.

"Why would anyone...Nah snuff that." Noah shook his head, not bothering to try and figure out why anyone would want to ride something like that. Instead he focused on what his opponent was doing. Assuming Chai was moving the fight elsewhere to try and take advantage of the space, Noah decided to hang back and observe his surroundings. For the first time he turned his attention to the other half of this fight, Kragg and Cayman exchanging blows. The two had different skill sets but seemed to match other in strength. He wasn't sure who would go down first if they kept as it like this.

But maybe with a bit of assistance, Cayman would go down a lot quicker.

Rather than chase after Chai, Noah suddenly pivoted, running towards the other set of fighters. It looked like Kragg was just knocked back a bit, but about to retaliate with another attack head on to Cayman. As Noah got closer, he moved to run towards Cayman's back. Gripping his blade tight, he aimed to thrust the weapon.

"Edge Thrust!" With a shout Noah hoped to make contact with Cayman's back dealing extra damaged along side whatever powerful blow Kragg was about to deal.

Kirin
The dragon's Shatter attack arced from one clone to the next, destroying them all in an instant. Due to the distance between them and Kirin herself, the Battle Priestess wasn't within range of Shatter, preventing any sort of damage to her. Serpent Night Dragon was quick to turn its focus to Neph, unleashing another shadowy attack while the Gardevoir attempted to put Megazowler down for good.

It was at this moment that Kirin sprinted out of the hole in the wall, another wave of talismans flying towards the projectiles headed for Neph; with any luck, the power of her Radiant Fetters would be enough to cancel them out, given the attack's seemingly magical properties.

One of the talismans would fly past the onslaught of attacks, lodging itself into the ceiling directly above Serpent Night Dragon---before Kirin performed another Arc Chain, zipping toward it in an instant, leaving her above the most threatening foe. The dragon was nimble, so she immediately attacked with a Ressen Slash, her falling speed increasing tremendously as she spun with her blade out, aiming to tear through her target.

Regardless of the result, the Battle Priestess would quickly follow up with her Merciful Beheading once she reached the ground, a trio of massive blades sprouting from the ground to impale her foe, quite possibly dealing some damage to Rex himself as well!

Cayman
Kragg’s pincer punch rang true, causing Cayman to wince as the flames around him vanished, causing his dash to stop before he stepped away from his opponent.

"Heh, not bad...!" The Adept remarked with a smirk. "But can you handle--urk!"

A sharp pain shot along the man's back as he was suddenly launched forwards, practically flying above Kragg before landing on the other side of the beetle, rolling along the ground for a moment before he stood back up. When his gaze focused on his foe, he realized the one behind that attack was the 'Noah' guy that Chai was supposed to be dealing with!

"What are you doing!?" He complained, his grin turning to a scowl. "Don't you know the meaning of a Duel?! Fighting two-on-one is no fair at all!" As he spoke, the Iron Delinquent's body glowed a little brighter.

"Know your place!!"

With several slams of his foot, a series of explosions would burst from the ground and travel towards Noah, looking to push him back. Should he or Kragg attempt to close in, Cayman would unleash a bigger, more powerful explosion that would really send them flying!

Pit
"Yikes, don't you know the "lower volume" button is on the left!?"

Pit had essentially recovered from the mind beams by now, though M.O.D.O.K. was making it difficult to relax for even a second. Red lasers rained down on him once more, prompting the angel to run in order to avoid them.

"Those lasers aren't as effective as the blue ones, Pit. You should be able to deflect those!"

"I hope you're right!"

Pit's Guardian Orbitars came out again, unleashing a charge shot that formed a barrier in front of the angel---and sure enough, the red lasers bounced right back towards the Man-Mind, much to Pit's relief. His cover probably wouldn't last for too long, but he had to take advantage of it. With another swap of his weapons, Pit summoned a wooden, rifle-like weapon similar to a harpoon in his right hand: an Insight Staff, perfect for ranged combat.

He took aim, his one-way reflectors still providing cover as he proceeded to fire away at M.O.D.O.K., the first shot a stronger charged one before he proceeded to swap to continuous fire. The energy projectiles only got stronger as they traveled, making their damage quite high at this range!

Grazie
"W-whoa!"

Mr. Miracle sure was a magician, his trickery preventing any damage to himself as Grazie found herself unable to properly reform the attacking fist, while the magician's second hand released a barrage of magic missiles in her direction, forcing her to summon a small sand barrier on a whim---though it didn't last very long against the sheer amount of projectiles, being quickly blasted apart before multiple of them struck the Adept herself. While her armor helped in protecting her, those little firework thingies sure hurt.

The veil of sand caused by the blasts soon faded, revealing a charred, not very happy Grazie.

"Don't you go 'round mockin' me! Dain't right, y'hear!?" She growled, her discarded shovel flying back to her, unfortunately for the plotting Magolor. "Now I gotta go all out! Time fer the real deal!"

Holding her shovel above her head, Grazie's weapon spun above her, the Adept supernaturally achieving lift as she rose into the air. Sand flocked to her in large amounts, forming a twister around the girl, while the sand that was out of bounds began rapidly circling around the arena, lowering visibility somewhat. It was a sandstorm!
O grand earth, cornerstone of life
Adorn me in your unshakeable armor
Bestow me with your crushing might

"SANDSTOOORM EMPEROOOR!!"

The sand twister dissipated, revealing Grazie was now encased in massive mechanical armor, towering over every fighter at eight feet tall. Her limbs were equipped with pincer claws, three digits each, while her legs were now inside large drills, spinning ferociously for a moment. A scorpion-like tail protruded from the back of her armor, which was actually the shovel from her regular form.

"Loser!!"

Grazie dropped down from her aerial position, hitting the ground with a resounding boom, pillars of sand bursting from the ground like a wave, potentially overwhelming everyone in the vicinity!

Oh, what was this feeling? This exhilarating joy of having a skilled opponent to fight? The rush of adrenaline as attacks crashed against one another? Back in New York, fighting all those robbers and crooks was nothing! Sure, they had guns and knives and who knows what other weapons, but one flick of the wrist and those things were just gone, and then what? Their punches meant nothing in the face of a magic missile or two. There was also that robot thing.. what was its name? Bionicle? Yeah, it was probably Bionicle, wasn't it? Big blowsie-upsies guy who tried to nuke the city when he realised he was on the losing end.

..Ok well, putting it like that made it sound like it was him alone against that machine, even though in truth it actually was a group effort. And then there was also that one other guy that carried the robot away moments before detonation, flying by so fast that Hagen couldn't even see what had happened, all he knew is that there was a self-destructing robot ahead of him in one moment, then a large mushroom cloud in the sky in the next. There wasn't much excitement there as this was.. what? A 5v1, last he can recall? 6v1, maybe? He'd already forgotten how many people were there. Hell, there probably was even some people fighting from where he couldn't see them, or just people he didn't know about that were helping the cause. Either way, this battle he was fighting was much different from what he experienced. Here, it was neither a complete struggle or had him put barely any effort into a victory. Here, he could go all out and fight on to his heart's content!

So then, why is it that he hasn't done so yet? There's still much more he could do here, was he thinking of just entertaining the audience? But magic tricks and cheesy puns alone aren't gonna do the job, right? There's only so much joy to take out of a one-trick pony after all. He himself knew that most people enjoyed watching others fight. Hell, it's why sports like Boxing and Wrestling are broadcasted. So.. it couldn't hurt, right? He'd have no reason to hold back here, especially with his opponent also all ready to pick up the ante with a brand new attack in the form of one stormy transformation into.. a scorpion chick. Neat.

Given Mr. Miracle was still hanging in the sky, the pillars erupting from the ground had not reached high enough to do any serious damage to him, allowing him a brief moment of respite to think of what to do next. This move of Grazie's was really flashy.. and she even shouted out its name, like one of those shows that his cousin Oz liked to watch.. what where they now? Amies? Yeah, that sounded about right. Well, looks like it was his turn to throw out a real flashy attack! And.. hm.. wait! What an idea he just had for an attack AND a name to call it! Striking a pose mid-air, Hagen spun his wand in the air and pointed it skyward, shouting out something he had just come up with.

" MIRACULOUS METAMORPHOSIS! "

Throwing his arms into the air, Terry then folded his arms and legs together as if going into fetal position, his body quickly first getting enveloped in the colorful magic within him, then entirely being coated in it, covering all of his body and making it seem like he was entirely made out of it, before his shape begun shifting around. One arm was thrust outward, growing muscular and wide. Then the other followed much the same suit, as did the legs. Black fur lined his limbs, while his hands and feet were fitted with dark-grey skin, as his fingers were tipped with white rims, courtecy of his magic wand. His back was lined with a white patch, while his torso itself formed into a large, bulky shape. Then, he posed his whole body once more, flexing both arms as his transformation finished, turning him into a whole gorilla with a colour palette resembling his attire.

" SIMIAN STORM! "

The now ape-shaped magician threw his arms to his sides and begun spinning on the spot, moving his arms up into the air, palms open and fingers pointed skyward and outstretched. From his silver-tipped fingers, a bunch of magic missiles now fired, rapidly increasing in amount shot as, the moment they hit their peak height, they burst into multiple smaller bunches that would fall back down to the ground, coating the immediate area in a constant hail of smaller bursts of magic blasts!

Kipmud
The amphibian backed up cautiously- so far that one of its hind legs slipped off the ledge! That's when Dart approached with haste, and Mudkip panicked. Reactively, he spat out a Water Gun. It wasn't super strong, but the recoil pushed the Pokémon over the edge before the blade could find him. With a cry, the creature fell, descending into the tall grass below.

Big Beetle
Suddenly, his opponent soared over him, his "ally" having attacked Kragg's opponent. Cayman complained, and the Wallrunner understood where he was coming from. Honor among warriors. He felt a bit guilty, and hoped the Adept would understand that Kragg didn't endorse the action. He stomped, and a wall erupted in front of Noah.

"Out."

The duelist's explosions would destruct the wall, sending out chunks of painful gravel towards the brit. The earthen warrior didn't approach his opponent just yet, he instead allowed Cayman to get his bearings before the fight was to resume.

As the talismans flew in towards Neph to offer some assistance in the defense effort, the piercing red glare of the Serpent Night Dragon shifted towards them. Just then, the shadows moved near identically to how the dragon would, swerving fluidly through the air-

Slice!

Shank!

Skewer!

The shadow splintered off, spearing the talismans one by one. Canceling one after another before the talismans could blanket effect the entire swarm coming after gardevoir. While this did remove about 15% of the incoming firepower, it prevented them from being mostly nullified, which was far more appealing of an outcome.

That's when a sudden flash of light followed, Kirin appearing right above the pair. Rex, who was still suspended on the back right talon, looked straight up right as Kirin appeared.

"Ehhh-?!"

As the sword came down, the dragon took to a freefall, using gravity to stall for slightly more time against their foe. So as the blade came down to gut the dragon-

Pang!

The sword was caught between the two front hands of the dragon, like a samurai catching a blade. There was a struggle though, as if the sword yearned to slay the dragon before it. Though suddenly, the claws before them began to shine, a metal of glaze starting to overtake them. What appeared to be an armored gauntlet materialized over each of the arms, covering the claws in some kind of heavy metal. A glance over to Rex would show that he had played the final card he could in his spell/trap zone: an equip card!

"Get a load of dragon nails! This card jacks up my dragon's attack points as well as make's his claws all but indestructible! Doesn't matter if you got a hundred swords, you ain't denting it!" Rex boasted. "Bring the pain! Shatter her to pieces Serpent Night!!!"

The gauntlets began to glow with the same energy of Shatter's lightning before the dragon would flap their wings, a storm of lighting shooting out right from its body, point blank! The electricity was stronger, more rampant than before, and without any tags to call upon, she couldn't just teleport out of this one. Each zap would drain her power more and more as they fell. Threatening to rip her very essence from her body. And then, right at the very end, Serpent Night would let go, having gravity do the rest and smashing her into the floor!!

Chai

"Haha! Can't catch me now, can you?"

"Chai? Problem."

"Bet he won't see this turn coming-"

"CHAI!"

Snapping out of his thoughts, the guitarist looked to Peppermint, who pointed behind him. Noah was gone. This confused the boy, looking to and fro for him, just to see him licking a fight with his ally! Chai groaned, begrudgingly swerving around.

"Gee, thanks for that totally hopefully advice Peppermint!"

"Huh. What do you know, the kid had brain cells after all."

"Now is NOT the time!"

Getting closer quickly, he noticed Kragg created a wall of rock to try and stop Noah from interrupting the no doubt macho Showdown he was having...perfect! Crouching down low on his guitar as he closed in, he began to drift into a turn before-

"Hit it!"

Chai's guitar rang out loudly as he swerved it in one quick action, a burst of compressed soundwaves and shockwaves unleashing as he all but beelined right for him! Just his luck that both the beetle dude AND the muscle dude were both into this fair fighting thing...hey, did the Cay Man look a little different?

Kirin
Rex had pulled out an unexpected trap, summoning metal gauntlets to further boost Serpent Night Dragon, leaving Kirin stuck in the center. Another attack was already coming up, so her chances of getting out were slim…

But maybe she could power through.

Before the Shatter attack came out again, a floating orb of energy flew out from the Battle Priestess’s pouch: an Azure Spirit. Residual Septimosomes left behind when Gunvolt disappeared, a mix of Azure Striker and Astral Order. It seemed to move through a will of its own, gravitating towards Kirin’s blade, lodged in between the dragon’s claws. She understood.

“A hundred swords may not be enough…”

The Azure Spirit merged with the weapon, granting it a sky-blue glow.

“… but I’ll seal your fate with this Octima!”

Kirin’s katana unleashed a powerful burst of violet and azure electricity, bolts of lightning arcing every which way, somewhat acting to intercept the incoming Shatter. The Adept’s body was burning up, waves of pain coursing through her due to the mix of Shatter and the Azure Spirit’s own overflowing energy, but she managed to barely remain conscious. This was her last chance at defeating Rex.

If she had to go down too, then so be it.

Grazie

“A gorilla? Yahahaha! Ya think THAT is even gon’ put a dent in this armor!?”

Grazie raised one of her pincer claws, proceeding to spin it rapidly. In unison with her movements, another sand twister kicked up in front of the Adept, generating a powerful pull that drew the magic projectiles in, causing them to explode harmlessly in its center. Its pull was powerful enough to drag even Miracle himself in, threatening to send him flying!

“Why don’tcha go fer a spin!?”

Audrey
Audrey could only gasp from Ryuji's kick, throwing her off what little balance she had before God's Hand struck Eya's chosen one. Knocked off her last legs with a resounding thud, Audrey was knocked into the air and fell onto her back a fair distance away. As she was face down, it was hard to tell whether she was dead or out-cold. Either way...

Audrey Redheart - Defeated!

Axe
Axe was forced to hop back again as he heard the sand beneath him shifting, the shovel rising and covered in spikes. As Magolor launched his attacks and went to retake the shovel (Though Grazie quickly snatched it back), Axe himself suddenly had a thought. His opponent was clearly expecting him to go for his weapon, turning his back to an attack even if he avoided the magic stuff. But before he could really think to do anything, diving to the side as he tried, Grazie loudly chanted something or other and appearing encased in a tall suit of armor. The boy looked over, shuddering as his memories flashed in mind, before grunting in pain as the last of the magic balls that he failed to avoid bruised his arm. Then Grazie landed, making the situation even worse somehow. Suddenly, sand began to rise as a wave in rows, shooting out across the arena. Axe only had a second or two to think, he knew for sure, but he glanced in his satchel. The speed of the sand, the height it was going to, he wasn't sure he'd live a hit.
Power of Earth, you hear me right? Gonna need you again...!
He called out in his mind to the Green Stone, channelling it's power to avoid death's door once more. As the pillars shot out under him, a green light burst out and saved him. Seconds later, with his shield thrown to the air by the burst, Axe reappeared in the sky, gripping his shield.
"Woah, woah, too high, too high!" He called out in anguish, absorbed by another green light. He seemed annoyed again, but this time landed on his feet. He decided to stay defensive, trying to assess everything that had happened...

Masaru
Masaru was actually a little surprised to see the little guy able to take a hit, but decided to chalk it up to magic or some cool science fiction technology thing. Either worked for him. Especially the latter.
Still, he had to focus, as Shaymin unveiled another technique!

Turning the battlefield into a flowery haven that Masaru felt restore his energy at the same rate the seed attack from before was draining!
...
"Huh, neat." He chuckled, giving a thumbs up. He had a minor feeling that he'd be careful not to use something like Worldbreaker's Wrath in this setting, but he shrugged that worry off too. "Still, can't just stop there, gotta keep going if I wanna see where this tournament goes." He told himself, pumping his fists.
Alright, let's see how you handle this! Alola Slap!
He dashed forward suddenly, lifting himself off the ground for enough time to feel the healing effect leave him for just a moment before he landed again. He then moved faster, striking not Shaymin but rather the area around Shaymin fast and hard enough to create afterimages and the effect (and appearance) of a hurricane, with his own physical force behind it!

The dragon seemed taken aback by this development, now with Kirin bursting with power, there was no way either of them would be coming out of this situation intact. The dragon screeched, clamping down firmly on the blade as it wrapped its body all around Kirin. It was in obvious pain, but it's spite was stronger than it's agony. The dragon glared at Kirin right in the eyes. That's when it would flick Rex out from it's talons, sending him rolling on the ground nearby as it plummeted right toward the floor. As sound as the impact landed-

FLAAASH!

A bright bolt of lighting zapped out of Serpent Night as its death throes ignited a pillar of shocking light. Kirin, being in the epicenter, was instantly vaporized along with the strike. Though she did do one thing...prove that she was a dragon slayer as she said before.

Kirin: Eliminated

The smoke that came from the attack shrouded Rex's location, as well as his general area. Now with two fighters remaining, it was a 1v1.

Ryuji
Luckily, Audrey's approach was interrupted by Nott.
"Thanks!" Ryuji quickly thanked Nott. Now that Audrey was taken off balance, this was a critical moment for Ryuji!
In a smooth motion (for Ryuji at least), the phantom thief rolled back and kicked Audrey, right into William's God's Hand, finishing her!
After looking over Audrey to confirm if he was downed, Ryuji raised his weapon in the air, cheering.
" YEAH!" he cheered, seemingly forgetting about his other opponent. "That's a win for Ryu-oof!"
Only for Troy to land on his back, cutting his victory cry short. Ryuji growled, struggling to keep balance and avoid faceplanting into the dirt, keeping him from retaliating for now as Troy spoke to William, oddly.
Yet the Persona looked back at Troy, his skeletal face devoid of emotions, yet he seemed to understand Troy's proposal. Was there the faint look of a smile?
"A bold offer." it spoke, amused. "I must decline, however, as I am already in a pact."
Ryuji nodded, not that Troy would see it.
"That means eff' off douchebag! Ziodyne!" He barked. Lightning swelled around Ryuji, erupting in a huge burst of lightning from below Troy . It wouldn't affect Ryuji, but the same hopefully couldn't be said about Troy.

Magolor
"Tch. She's quick."
Oh well. The shovel had served its purpose. They were beginning to get smart to it anyway. Magolor's magic struck Axe, forcing him to back off. Magolor time to catch sight of Grazie's transformation. Huh, interesting. Also interesting was the power boost she received, sending out a powerful AoE move that would force even Axe to evade, using the same green stone that helped him escape from his makeshift quick sand. Magolor might need to separate that from him. It would make a fine addition to his collection, if not just to keep him from squirming out of everything.
For now, the sand pillars were a bigger focus....for the weak. What Magolor saw was an opportunity.
With the sand pillars coming up, Magolor worked fast, focusing his magic and creating a star-shaped portal big enough to swallow the pillar! With a wink, Magolor opened another portal behind Axe. The pillar shot through the portal, aiming to bash him from behind! If he proved quick witted enough to dodge, Magolor would fire a ball of flames that would shatter the pillar, sending a hail of flaming sand around Axe!

The great serpent began to swoop down as the gardevoir stood upon its much larger counterpart's back, Megazowler trying to keep itself awake, smashing its skull into anything it could.

Recoil damage.

She drew in a deep breath, closing her eyes, and cast her mind forward. Kirin was proving increasingly useless. Was this a fight they could win? This serpent thing seemed independent of Rex Raptor, it could do as it pleased.

It was like her, in regards to where she currently stood with her own master.

But type effectiveness aside, it would require more than that. She hadn't become the signature Pokémon of the Hoenn Champion for no reason.

Flashes of images played in her mind. The swooping of the serpent as it made to utilize the shadows. Kirin's talisman's, and a following attack. The serpent's counter. Rex's trap card. Kirin's last stand. The trap card's effect. Neph struggling to best it, exuding all of her power. And... failure.

Her eyes shot open as the talisman's were shattered by the night serpent's attack. As hypnosis began to rapidly take hold of Megazowler, it unable to fight it for much longer, the gardevoir rose quickly into the air, the attack blitzing for her. She cast Dazzling Gleam, making sure the attack was forced to congregate for her.

The attack was obliterated, Dazzling Gleam ending itself as well. This had been her counter in the vision, and now was Rex's reveal of his card. Kirin's death was nearing. Neph instead watched on, slinking away, gathering her strength. Better to let this part play out... it was the return of the dragon she'd prefer to avoid.

And Kirin's death did come, ending with Rex being flung away. It was here that Neph enacted the first stage of her counter-plan. Before Rex Raptor could even hit the ground, a small portal had opened, and it would instantaneously close, blipping out of existence only once at least half of Rex had traveled through. Thanks to her brief vision, she knew precisely where he was going (if her mental-sensing hadn't already been able to deduce that). This would hopefully cut the brat clean in half, essentially teleporting one side of his body to another place, as the other would be cleaved through and left to rot.

The destination? Right at the Embrace Pokémon's feet, her hand already raised, so that the moment Rex was before her, before he could so much as collect his bearings, she was using Psychic to mentally flay him apart, and end this charade before the boy's endgame scenario could even begin. She just hoped the card's effects hadn't been quick enough to answer for this.

Was it brutal? Extremely. Was it necessary? Very much so. She wasn't constrained to the natural rules of Pokémon battling here, so why should she abide by them? Why not... let loose?

M.O.D.O.K.

"GAH!" His small arms raised as the red lasers pelted back at him, but with his combat helmet active, the lasers just seemed to ping off of him. "NEANDERTHAL! EVERYTHING IS ON THE LEFT CONSOLE!" He moved one hand down to turn off the attack with a snarl, before a beep was emitted from his console.

Oh, yes. Multiple different aspects of his arsenal had just finished their cooldown sequence.

Yet while Pit began to fight more ranged, adapting to M.O.D.O.K.s previous style, it was the Man-Mind who had switched his own tactics. With his combat skin activated, he suddenly tilted downward and propelled himself like a rocket toward the angel, aiming to crush the boy into the dirt he stood on, the Man-Mind using his own head as the blunt instrument.

Pit's shots came in, striking against the armored skull, but performed consistently worse as the distance rapidly closed, the arrows only growing more effective with gathering range.

DART

"Whoa!" Dart laughed out, canceling out his own attack to bring up his blade, the stream of water pelting against its flat end as he brought it up to tank the attack, before he leaped down after Mudkip.

Mudkip hit the grass, and only half a second after it had, Dart smashed into the ground just in front of it, plunging his Heat Blade into the earth. Flames seemed to spit out of the cracks it made, but Dart was quick to slash upward, blasting a thin wall of flames for Mudkip at near point-blank, before immediately closing the distance again in an attempt to land another horizontal cut.

Mr. Miracle
Well, his rain of magic sure did little to stop whatever was going on below, though it seems like his teammate had himself covered so far, leaving Hagen to put all his attention on Grazie, who was whipping up another storm. Hm.. go for a spin? Why, what an intriguing idea! How come he hadn't thought of such before!

" That rain was just the warm-up, my dear! The calm before the storm! So yes, I think I will go for quite the spin that you've oh-so graciously invited me to! "

Hagen put both arms above himself and begun spinning himself the same way the twister was rotating, coating himself in his magic energy and creating his own magical, small-scale tornado of spinning magical energies around himself. And then he moved himself right to the twister, spinning himself in tandem with it as if surfing along its windy waves, using the motion of the sandstorm to gradually increase his own rotational- and movement speed, only to then suddenly shoot himself out of it when he had gathered enough momentum to slam his full, still-spinning weight into Grazie when she was least expecting it!

Shaymin
His foe went for yet another attack, Shaymin deciding now was a better time than any. Briefly closing his eyes and looking down, the Gratitude Pokémon used Baby-Doll Eyes as an attempt to get Masaru to stop his attack before it would be performed and follow up with a flurry of Magical Leaf or, in the case this did not work, curl up into a ball and use Defense Curl to try to minimize the damage of whatever ended up happening next to him!

Rex Raptor

Gardevoir had been watching. Waiting. After Megazowler had successfully been subdued, she opened a portal at Rex's location. What was brought through to her was...unexpected. A dark organic mess was revealed to her, Squirming and wriggling. It seemed parts of it were even lopped off from the gateway, in several locations at that.

As the psychic began to rip away at the the mass before her, it began to quiver and agitate, a dark bellowing screech emitting from the mass before it suddenly expanded. Wings erupted from the mass of flesh, as it was revealed that the Serpent Night Dragon had wrapped around Rex Raptor like a cocoon, changing the outcome of the prediction! But how could that be? Not only had Serpent Night perished just recently, but how could it have appeared so quickly and at Rex's position to boot? It didn't make any sense.

"Ha...did I mention that Serpent Night Dragon was created with the soul of a wicked Knight?"

The Serpent's now black skin hummed to life, a shadowy aura emitting from it. Although revived...it didn't seem all there. Its eyes were white and soulless, as if it were still truly dead. It didn't act on its own. There was no soul inside of it. But a husk. Rex pointed to himself with his thumb, an almost sadistic grin on his face, his eyes now red, the color of Serpent Night's original ones!

"...Now I'M the soul that's binding this dragon!!"

So that's why the outcome had shifted. By reading of minds and foretelling through them what the future held...Serpent Night Dragon was dead. There wasn't a mind to read! The dragon, or rather the dragon's body had a missing back wing, back leg, and a large chunk of its tail. It seemed although clever as the move was for a numbskull, the dragon still took heavy damage from the gateway's collapse. Dark miasma emitted from its gaping wounds, like rot coming from a carcass. It was death, puppeteered by a master that found it useful. And Gardevoir had warped it right to him.

"Nightmare Sonic Blaaaaast!!!"

Rex thrust his arm forward, Serpent Night's attack channeling through his actions. Suddenly, a plume of shadow erupted from around the both of them. These were...stronger than the ones Gardevoir had faced previously. Surrounding the pair, they fired in, out, around, and back in repeatedly. A bombardment of shadow arrows that constantly recycled and pumped right back in. It was a death box. One that Rex had risked all this for.

Damage had been done, but it seemed pointless. Instead, the outcome had shifted entirely. It was almost as though... the dragon had predicted her prediction? Visionception? Was that even a thing? It wasn't exactly what she didn't want to happen, but to some degree, it was actually worse. Rex Raptor's latest card ensured he could resurrect the dragon, and while it seemed dead now, even with it being somehow puppeteered by Rex (alongside channeling its power through him), she didn't doubt that it could still be resurrected.

So even if she managed to destroy Rex's current form, he would simply scoff, spout about his superiority, then resurrect the serpent dragon before she could finish him off. The fact he'd made it this far was miraculous. Weevil had been clever, but he wouldn't have bested this.

Kirin was out. There was no aid. Rex held all the cards (in more ways than one). Was there any point?

She raised her arms, forging a strong barrier around herself. It was broken by the attack, which slugged her back. The gardevoir winced as she procured another barrier, resulting in a similar outcome. She let out a gasp as she was pummeled further away, but Raptor seemed to be confident in continuing this attack. A third time, she blocked, and it was broken. This third one hit her the hardest, knocking her to the ground, gritting her teeth.

...Was there any point, she thought again.

She'd left home for a reason. Left Hoenn. Came to this place. It was to prove herself. To prove she was still a champion's Pokémon. If she couldn't overcome this, then what was the point? Was she truly out of her league here? Had her status been a fluke? Wasn't she supposed to be someone?

She cringed inwardly at the thought of stumbling back home, to her trainer. To the thought of returning to that life of simplicity and blandness. No...

No, she was above that.

A fourth wave of the attack bore down on the gardevoir, Rex prepared to take his place as victor, believing himself unstoppable now, but something had ignited inside of Neph. Something that she hadn't even realized she possessed. If the threshold of rules had been broken against Weevil, now it was the threshold of regulation for Raptor. The threshold of capacity.

A sudden burst of violet energy surged out of the forearms of the Pokémon, propelling outward in a rather violent outburst, the metal floor seemingly evaporating around her, rocks blasting apart before being atomized by the flaying of mind. The attack struck, and was given equal treatment. "GAAAAAAAAR!" The gardevoir yelled alongside this blast, before she suddenly vanished.

She was behind Rex, blasting out a plethora of rapid-fire psychic blasts. Yet as soon as she was there- she appeared elsewhere from a different angle, chosen at random, blasting more of the projectiles. Again, a third time, she appeared somewhere else. It all happened so quickly, it was almost as though Rex was being assaulted from all angles. Left, right, behind, above, the attacks came, swerving to meet their mark, before she finally came to a stop a few feet behind him (relative to wherever he'd turned) swinging her arm in a downward arc, using telekinesis to slam him into the earth, to turn his legs into minced bone and meat, to transfigure his pelvis into his new lungs, to quite literally collapse his body into itself, though she was hardly finished, violet energy beginning to spark along her arms again, her crimson eyes wide and flashing as she cast a heavily boosted Mystical Fire, a storm of fire emerging from her palm, before it began to swerve in the air, spiraling around Neph, the heat growing intense.

It was a makeshift shield, made to consume Rex in whatever state he was in as she raised both arms, shaking violently with the power she was exerting. Every ounce of what she had into one last assault. An orb seemed to appear between her palms, small at first, before it began to rapidly expand, reality warping around it as gravity shifted all around, debris sucking into the miniature black hole. "DEEEEEVOOOOOIIIIIIIIR!!!" She screamed out, spreading out her arms to release the black hole, light and shadow equally consumed within it, her Mystical Fire pulled inside with little regard, Kirin's body lifting from the ground to be consumed, the body of the dragon threatening to follow - but Rex was, of course, the main goal.

Neph collapsed to the ground, panting through her teeth, eyelids fluttering as she caught herself by her arms, which were shaking with the effort of holding herself up. She didn't need her trainer to accomplish this battle... she didn't need anyone! Just herself, consequences be damned! If all had gone as planned... Rex would be far too brutalized to be operable, and if he perished, then so would his cards, just as Weevil had before.

She was struggling to keep her eyes open, her vision growing blurry as she looked up to see her black hole finally collapse on itself, anything caught within being crushed into nothingness---before it erupted, expelled with a powerful energy that sent the weakened gardevoir flying back through the air with a cry.

And finally, she rolled to a stop on the ground, battered and beaten, barely alive... but still alive.

She was banking on that being her claim to victory.

Rex Raptor & Serpent Night Dragon

Attack after attack landed, the bull headed duelist's assault continued. Breaking and battering at her defensive line. She was faltering. It's only when she exploded into her final stand did Rex ease up. He got into a defensive position, not having seen her like this before.

What's she planning on doing? ...Bah, it don't matter! I'll just crush anything she sends my way! She's acting out of desperation. She's got to be desperate to think she has a chance!!

Thats when she teleported, sending a scattershot of psychic blasts behind him. He whirred around to the sound of firepower, one striking his shoulder. He recoiled, having Serpent Night's body raise a claw, still covered in the equipped dragon nails. This mitigated damage from further attack on that facing.

Then she appeared elsewhere, to the sky. Barley catching the storm in time, Rex commanded Serpent Night to intercept the attack. Its head, which was highest, reached first, taking a strike or two, pieces of its metallic plumage falling off and its beak cracking and chilling. The rest collided with the second arm, coated with the nails.

That's when the third teleport happened, spearing right in front of him, a blast striking him square in the chest! He coughed out as he was knocked down, the dragon recoiling in kind, as they shared the same soul. Rex could feel it. As if his head was splitting open too, the crack spidering across Serpent Night's face. ...But he wasn't a wuss. Not a complete wuss anyway. If the dinos and dragons he commanded were real, then he sure wasn't going to give the dinosaur kingdom a bad name!

He whipped his arm out from clutching his chest, glaring right at Neph as she warped in, her telekinetic forces about to exert. Multiple attacks in quick succession? He wasn't just gonna stand here and take it! He was going to counter attack!!

"Ha!!!"

The dragon gripped his shoulder with either claws, hoisting him up into the air, away from the folding ground beneath them. Despite the pain, Rex took it upon himself to go on the offensive. The serpent, ferrying Rex, dove across the ground, snaking both like a serpent and shadow. Dozens of black arrows shot out from its wake, spearing ahead. So as the mystical flare would rolls across them. The growing number of arrows would penetrate the storm, creating an eye. They would follow it, like a surfer riding a wave. Even as his pull over had begun to darken and burn. Ignoring the heavy heat upon his skin from his close proximity to the flames, his anger grew and grew. His determination spiked. Not from a sense of justice nor honor, but from sheer pettiness.

"I WON'T be eliminated in my first round! Not when there is Dino blood flowing through my veins!!"

Soaring out of flames right as they receded, he was planning to swerved around and make a pass at Gardevoir, but she had other plans. She had generated a singularity: a black hole. Rex grit his teeth, even the steam coming from his lightly cooked body was beginning to be pulled in. Serpent Night wasn't going to escape this either. Despite fully flapping its wings in the opposite direction, it only minorly delayed.

...Wait. Running away? No! What kinda baby runs away from this?! My soul Is fueling a DRAGON! Can Kaiba even say that?! I don't think so! I'll keep laying the beatings till I win!!

"Uaaaaah! ...Power up all you want...you'll never surpass my thrashing power!! Shatter Apart!!!"

Serpent Night's lifeless body swerved around, facing the black hole straight on! Rex threw both of his hands out toward the void, and like that, Serpent Night's Shatter coursed forward, strong and vibrant. The shatter was being dragged into the Black Hole...and its attack reduction effect kept streaming in! The more the attack shot in, the smaller it got - black hole was closing! The black hole began to glow blue from the sheer amount of the Shatter attack flowing through it. As the pair grew closer and closer it, the dark hole became unstable. So right as they were to get sucked in-

ZZZZZZZZAAAAAAP!

The dark hole closed, a nova of electricity shooting out. A portion of it washing over Rex and Serpent Night. While the dragon was naturally resistant to electric attacks, that wasn't the problem. It was the reduction qualities. The lightning zapped at the miasma, and the very tether that kept the two connected! The connection wavered before severing entirely. Serpent Night fell limp mid-flight, the lifeless body falling down to the ground, Rex, thoroughly electrified, falling in the opposite direction. He was done.

As he crashed down on the ground, the air knocked out of his lungs. On the cold floors, he witnessed the band of electricity shooting out of the nova that they manifested wash right over Neph! The combined shatters bathing them and thoroughly eliminating them from the fight! All of this seconds before Rex himself lost consciousness...

...The best part of winning...is not losing! H...a...!

Neph - Eliminated

The Winners are......Weevil Underwood and Rex Raptor!!

Kragg actually wanted to keep it as a Duel!

“You truly have a manly spirit!” Cayman remarked, mood doing a complete 180, grinning as if he’d never been interrupted. Slamming his fists together, the Duelist rushed back in, his love for battle on full display.

“Don’t stop now! Let’s Duel until we can’t Duel anymore!”

Cayman would go for a quick knee strike, though he expected his opponent’s guard to be ready for it. So as a follow-up, he would perform a fiery uppercut, looking to send both Kragg and himself flying into the air!

Pit
“Whoa, he’s coming in quick!”

“Focus. Find an opening, then strike with all you’ve got!”

With the Man-Mind rapidly approaching, Pit did the first thing that came to mind: go for a home run. His weapons quickly swapped out, the smaller Insight Staff now replaced by a massive Babel Club, the angel holding it behind him almost like a baseball bat, making sure to move aside as to avoid getting immediately crushed by M.O.D.O.K.

“Take thiis!”

Pit swung the club with all his might, looking to deal devastating damage with his best melee weapon while he had the chance!

Grazie
She was not expecting her foe to straight up dive into her twister, Miracle now flying right towards Grazie!

The Adept brought both of her armored arms up, drill legs digging into the ground to anchor her before the large gorilla struck. The blow was powerful indeed, slight stress fractures appearing on the pincer claws, Grazie sliding backwards a small distance—before she swung both of her arms downwards, looking to bury her foe in the sand cloud. The sand around him would additionally begin to shift in an attempt to keep him there.

Regardless of the result, a large boulder made out of compact sand would manifest in Grazie’s hands.

“I’ll squish ya like a bug!!”

Grazie would throw the boulder at ludicrous speeds, her aim to do exactly as she’d said: flatten her target against the boulder.

Inkling “Blue”
The Inkling looked at the tornado around him with an awestruck expression on his face. This Rinku guy was fast! Looking over to his side, he saw the shark demon briefly fly past and through the tornado, out onto the other side. Well, that wasn’t good, he'd probably be back. Blue pinned down Rinku’s location right as the demon flew in with a swipe at his head, which the squid kid dodged with an impressive amount of finesse, though a lot of it came from the tracking.

However, the demon child didn’t let up. He swiped again and again, each one filled with more bloodlust than the last! “Woah, hey, ey ey ey ey!” Blue dodged the swipes less comfortably each time, his “ey’s“ getting more frantic as Rinku continued his barrage. To make it worse, that shark guy was gone!

”Agh…what do I do? This tornado is annoying…wait! That thing Dagr was talking about!”

After a brief moment of concentration, Blue disappeared into thin air, right before Rinku’s eyes!

The squid kid appeared right besides Dagr, stumbling a bit to find his balance as he landed on the ground before looking at her with a sheepish smile. “Uh, hey!” He waved before a shark fin ominously popped up nearby, but not too close. “Wuh oh, trouble.“ Blue pointed at the shark fin with a slight frown, then turned his head towards wherever Rinku currently was. The ink from the suction bomb had spewed out of the tornado and covered some ground near him, though he didn’t dive in just yet. However, his ink tank was pretty much full again anyway since he hadn’t shot ink in several seconds.

Blue switched back to the Splattershot, which would deal more damage at the cost of less maneuverability than the Dualies, but he could always switch back. At least, that’s how the Inkling rationalized it. “Rinku is crazy overpowered for no reason, so he could be trouble!” The squiddo spoke to his teammate while opening fire on Rinku wherever he was. As he fired his Splattershot, he readied something else to use at a moment’s notice.

Slash
“You have done little to prove that you are worth anything more.”

Aegislash responded telepathically to the man as he commented on his projectiles. The man mocked them, but they had done what they were supposed to do: gotten him closer. The Royal Sword went in for several slashes, a horizontal one at the man’s feet, a diagonal one across his chest, a vertical towards his middle, then a combo of three at his torso. All these slashes happened in very quick session, and they would quickly be followed by a laser beam from Aegislash’s eye that he fired in a sweeping motion at Taskmaster, wherever he ended up.

“Shaymin, is it possible for you to get my shield off of this man’s arm? Do you have any psychic abilities?” Slash spoke to his teammate telepathically as he fought, growing increasingly irritated without his shield.

Jevil
Alter Knight’s lightning arrows clashed with Kassandra’s orbs, causing in a chain reaction that resulted in an explosion, though Jevil avoided it by teleporting away with a flick of his cape, appearing above Kassandra with a grin on his face. “My my, stealing my schtick, huh?” The jester cackled as he commented on the Spartan’s new projectile attacks. He summoned his scythe and cocked his head to the side with a giggle. Instead of attacking with the melee weapon, however, a wave of spades would suddenly emerge from directly beneath Kassandra as a surprise attack!

Immediately turning to look at Alter Knight, Jevil waved his free hand at her and launched a volley of Diamond projectiles from diagonally above her, then summoned several bombs above her from the other side right after!

Rinku

Dodge after dodge, attack after attack, he grew closer to Inkling with each one. Before he could strike a pivotal blow, he was whisked away right in front of his eyes! Rinku paused, screeching to a halt midair as the tornado died down. Inkling hadn't displayed the ability to teleport before. They seemed rather simplistic. Crossing his arms, he looked over to Dagr, which he found Inkling standing right beside, conversing to.

"Okay, that was a neat little trick. I see now who is gonna be carrying this team. Hummm...guess giving her that kid to babysit would make her weaker and easier to exploit. Let's test it~"

Rinku with a grin, darted deeper into the island, Inkling's splatter shot falling upon open air. The demon was out of view, weaving behind concrete structures that were jutting out erratically across the urban terrain. That's when he stumbled upon a stage. Lights, stereos, microphones, and a venue fitting of a seaside concert. Hmm...that would do.

Darting up, he ripped out two of the bulky stage lights, gripping them by their cables. Soaring right from the side of Blue, he snickered, trying to take advantage of their lack of maneuverability.

"Hiding under that lady's skirt are you?!"

That's when he flung out of the stage lights out to him, aiming to crush him as he lashed another out like a sweeping whip aiming to smother any attempt to escape, as well as smash Dagr if she didn't evade it.

Jeice

As Jeice flung Minos away, the soul managed to grab him! The two flew through the air, and Jeice managed to get out from under Minos. The two slammed into the ground at the same time, and Jeice quickly jumped back away. He threw his barrage of ki blasts, only for them to be stopped by energy attacks from Minos.

Jeice slid to a stop, gritting his teeth and staring down Minos. He was breathing heavily. Nothing was seeming to work. Had this been back in the real world, Jeice would have been tempted to run and get the other members of the Ginyu Force. But that wasn't an option here. Jeice glanced over to where MODOK and Pit were fighting. Somehow, the angel boy was keeping MODOK busy. No help from him.

The soul's reflection technique was a real problem. The last thing that Jeice wanted was his own Crusher Ball being sent right back at him. But perhaps... if he were to do something else instead.

"Alright then, you lout!" Jeice yelled, pointing to Minos. He began to float up into the air, holding his hand above his head.
"Take this! My most powerful technique!" Jeice called out. A red ball of energy began to form, growing until it was a little larger than a basketball. It let off an intense red light, glowing and pulsing.
"Crusher... Ball!!!!" Jeice yelled, throwing the energy attack. But instead of throwing it at Minos... At the last second, Jeice turned and flung the attack at Pit!

Nótt

Audrey fell to Skull's attack. One down, one to go. That merely left the cult leader and his sword girlfriend. Skull attempted to blast Troy off of him, and Nótt quickly approached. She stood at the ready, waiting to lash out with her lance when Troy attempted dodge away.

Dagr

Blue appeared to be caught up in the tornado, not so good. But before Dagr could rush in to help, Blue appeared next to her. Skinfaxi's Pathfinder. Dagr grinned, patting Blue on the head as he began to shoot at Rinku again.
"Hey squiddo, thanks for the heads up! You having fun?" Dagr said.

As if to drive Blue's point home, Rinku suddenly appeared once again carrying massive chunks of technology. He flung the stage lights at Blue and Dagr.
"Oooh, careful!" Dagr said. The Princess grabbed Blue by the back of his collar, pulling the Inkling behind her. With her other hand, she smashed the stage lights using her ax. Rinku followed up with a sweeping attack with the second set of stage lights, but Dagr's eagle extended its wings. Metal clashed with metal as the stage lights struck the eagle's swings, glancing up and off of the massive metal bird.

"Hey hey, he's not so bad, see? He just wants to play some jump rope!" Dagr said, looking down to Blue with a grin. "Now go and kick his butt!"

Dagr lightly tossed Blue in the direction of Rinku before running off, waving to Rinku.
"We'll play later, okay kiddo? I'll show you some of the games we play in Jötunheimr too!" Dagr called back. The Princess then began to scan the arena, continuously moving and being on the lookout for Beam or his dorsal fin.

NEPH

So.

. . .

That's what it felt like.

She'd almost forgotten.

Defeat.

Her teeth ground against each other as her eyes opened to find herself . . . back in the lobby. Nobody had come back from their matches yet, meaning theirs had been the first to conclude. Well, that wasn't entirely true. Some annoying creature was bouncing around sputtering nonsense in a seemingly perpetual state of insanity. Obviously it had been very early to be killed, as were two others off to the sides, a large and hideous creature, as well as a Lucario she'd seen earlier. Hadn't it been paired with a Mudkip? Talk about embarrassing, losing first. It eased the sting of bitter bile she was tasting from her own loss.

Her eyes flitted toward the bracket screen, where names were being crossed out with a thin red line, and two other brackets had appeared. "Winner's Bracket" and "Loser's Bracket." She hated seeing her name in the latter, set to battle against the priestess. Speaking of; Kirin, Rex, and Weevil were back as well. She didn't so much as cast a glance in the direction of the humans - she was far too annoyed and embarrassed at her loss to address them.

What would her trainer have done differently? What tactic would he have employed? They used to stay up for hours thinking of ways to overcome the next hurdle. Well into the night, even to the peaking sun over the horizon, they'd plan with one another on strategies and ideas. They sort of stopped after becoming champions. They'd . . . had no reason to. At the top, there's no challenge. They stagnated.

She missed those days of simplicity.

However, the gardevoir was quick to remind herself as to why she was in this tournament in the first place, and her resolve became steeled over. Her loss here was simply a fluke. A bad match-up, with an abysmal teammate. That's all that it was. Kirin would be far easier to dispatch, especially having seen her in action. Though . . . Neph made a mental note to devise an actual strategy this time. It wouldn't be nearly as fun without her trainer, but she'd manage.

M.O.D.O.K.

The babel club hit its mark, leaving a dent over the impressively-shelled skull of the Man-Mind, who wasn't deterred as he smashed into the ground - and through it, barrelling out of the bottom, leaving a crumbling hole in his wake.

"I!" He roared.
"AM!"

The ground shuddered, before the A.I.M. Leader bursted from the ground, forging another hole as he propelled himself again toward Pit.
"M.O.D.O.K.!!!"

He aimed to batter the angel out of the air. While these attacks seemed simplistic, it was in fact to give the Man-Mind more time to let his systems cooldown, all so that he could bring them back with a vengeance.
"MY GENIUS IS UNPARALLELED! YOUR POWER IS NO MATCH FOR SCIENCE! BUT IN THIS MOMENT, ALLOW THE BLUNT SIMPLICITY OF MY SUPERIOR SKULL TO BE AN EFFECTIVE STAND-IN!"

However, there was one single move M.O.D.O.K. had yet to use in the entire fight, one he now used. If Pit would come within five feet of the Mechanized Organism, a powerful and magenta shockwave would burst from him. This was the Psychic Shockwave, not as powerful as Dual Hyper Beams, and less kinetic and forceful than the Doomsday Chair's Shockwave, the Psychic Shockwave would aim to flay Pit on the deepest, most neurological level possible, an attack to sear his brain from within. A side effect in favor of M.O.D.O.K. may even be temporarily severing Palutena's connection to Pit for a short time, giving the Man-Mind a big advantage. This attack would also feel like the worst imaginable headache to Pit, as though his mind were being shoved through a rather aggressive blender. An attack on the mind would always be far deadlier than an attack on the body.

Combining the Psychic Shockwave would be M.O.D.O.K. using his skull to slam into a hopefully stunned Pit, before turning, and like a missile, finally slamming him into the ground before he could recover, aiming to flatten him into the ground, and form a third hole in the ground as M.O.D.O.K. would barrel through it once again.

KASSANDRA

Jevil's strategy was quick and simple, and typically it would have been effective - if not for the fact that Kassandra had arguably the same degree of tricks to pull, so long as she was using the Staff of Hermes. He had teleported to completely avoid an attack? Kassandra did the same, appearing in the air behind Jevil by about a dozen meters, hovering due to the properties of the staff.

Jevil's attack went completely ignored, just as he'd done to theirs.

"Please, you're still in diapers compared to me," the misthios replied, her tone humored. "Get good."

Once more, several balls of unknown and volatile energy materialized around Jevil, closing in on him from every angle, making his only route of escape: teleportation. At Kassandra's direction, the balls would also change direction to rapidly rescind and close back in on Jevil should he manage to evade, or actually teleport away again. Should he use his own projectiles to counter, the orbs would erupt in its mysterious fervor, releasing a gaseous aura that would still engulf the jester. It would do significantly less damage - but it would still definitely sting.

Unbeknownst to Jevil, the staff had another feature. Regeneration. While it was nowhere near as effective as Second Wind (and in this domain, it seemed even weaker than she was used to), it was still a functional feature of the artifact. Slowly, the cracks in Kassandra's bones were sealing up, the cuts and gashes on her body beginning to gradually seal, her various bruises fading, the dead and burnt flesh flaking away to be replaced with new, healthy skin.

As one arm utilized the Staff of Hermes, her other hand reached inside her satchel, and from it, supernaturally emerged a helmet. Proud golden armor. With her hood down, the Keeper of Humanity slid the Helmet of Ares over her head, and her eyes behind the holes seemed to flash red with power. Jevil's slim window of opportunity was dwindling rapidly, if not having already closed. This misthios was just getting started.

SPECIAL GUEST #3

Master Hand could be found not inside the lobby, but rather, in a seemingly dark void. The exact location wasn't entirely known, not by the three individuals standing around the disembodied glove. A large screen was erected before them, displaying segments of all the ongoing fights. The special guests assembled around Master Hand were watching these fights unfold.

"They're a little more brutal than expected," Master Hand told the trio. "A few are taking this a little too seriously - it's not life or death!"

The hand chuckled.

One of the gathered individuals, the largest of the three (by nearly two feet) shifted where he stood, golden visor reflecting the screen's illumination. His heavy titanium-based carbon-crystal power armor was scuffed lightly in some places, telling stories of battles long-passed now, covered in a fine layer of army green paint. The number 117 labeled his left breast.

Master Chief Petty Officer John-117's head turned lightly toward Master Hand at his words, but the spartan offered no commentary yet, turning his gaze back toward the screen. However, there was a small flicker of light in front of him when he raised his hand (privately prompted by a fourth presence in the room), and a foot-tall figure appeared in Master Chief's palm, blue in her glowing light as she placed her arms behind her back, cocking her head slightly to look at the screen.

"I don't know about the rest of you, but I seem to recall mine and Chief's tournament actually being life or death," Kalmiya commented, to which another chuckle emitted from the floating hand.

"Well, I didn't host that tournament. Besides, only Frank Horrigan got permanently affected by it. He's still a head. I have him in my office, if you care to see."

Kalmiya's brow furrowed as she cocked her head to the side. "You have an office?"

"Wow, you really are FULL of questions!" the hand replied.

"I . . . asked one . . . ?"

Chief maintained his silence as he watched the fights unfolding. Not a lot of faces he recognized, with only a few rare exceptions. Some of these fighters seemed a lot better than the ones he'd seen back in the third official tournament (this being the fourth). Tough fighters, for sure. If you'd told the spartan he'd be participating in events like these, he would have probably sent you to a medical ward for a full psychiatric work-up. It was still a little bizarre to him, admittedly. Interacting with all these worlds. His universe was vast, more vast than many others he'd spent time in, yet still, it made home feel a lot smaller by comparison.

Regardless, the Chief had his own question for the cagey hand, once more turning his head to look toward the glove. "Your program. Dimension Games," he said, bringing up something he'd only recently learned about. Needless to say, the spartan wasn't a fan of it. "Why have it?"
