Got some hardware sales numbers from Japan for people to gaze at, provided by GameScience:
For the sales week of 26 Dec - 1 Jan 2006...
Platform - This week - Last week - 2005 total
1. DS - 390,181 - 597,628 - 4,151,356
2. PSP -110,741 - 161,332 - 2,200,610
3. PlayStation 2 - 78,646 - 97,475 - 1,968,846
4. GameBoy Advance SP - 15,998 - 35,764 - 696,262
5. GameCube - 12,579 - 36,646 - 273,180
DS out sold PSP over 3:1 last week, about four times the amount the week before that, and almost double for the full year. The page also has a forth column and, if I'm reading it right, it seems DS has now sold close to half the amount PS2 has since 2002.
Just imagine how many DS' will sell once Pokemon Ranger, D/P, and all of 2006's other goodies are released ^^
If anyone knows where to get total sales for NOA and NOE, post it.
