I don't believe that locked threads ever get unlocked

I've discussed the matter with the rest of staff, and... well, as I explained to Zander who asked me about this already. Running a tournament arc (of sorts) between a lot of different player characters requires a certain degree of maturity from all involved.

It's natural that disputes might arise, and that sometimes emotions might run high - but there's a difference between that and what the discussion thread of that RP has become.

The sheer amount of insulting, name-calling, posturing and generally acting like a flange of baboons I've seen from quite a few people in the thread, to me, served as evidence that the RP - at least in its current form - has become rather toxic.

The fact this toxic behaviour continued even after I gave the entire thread a verbal warning (and straight up issued a flaming warning to Rhabby) kind of proved that it wasn't going to get better, and as we have very little tolerance for this sort of things - our rules are partially designed to keep this sort of nonsense from happening, after all! - I felt that it was prudent to intervene and shut the thing down.
