Yeaaaah, battle bond appears to be as restricted to final forms as Mega Evolution is, so a Crabrawler is unlikely.

That makes sense, but my OC has a good bond with his Crabrawler in an RP. So I had the dumb thought of asking for Battle Bond.

Well, if the Crabrawler evolved, then perhaps it would work. Crabominable is a final evolution, so it's entirely possible, right? Although, the circumstances surrounding the evolution (level up at Mount Lanakila) would be pretty strict...

Well, it honestly doesn't seem plausible for a Pokemon to level up and not evolve in an anime-type deal. I think that a Crabrawler in RP should evolve at level 36 or 37, considering the attack power of its evolution.

Another thing I think is that Pokemon that have to level up under circumstances or with moves should evolve regularly since it makes no sense for that to happen in a real world, per say.

I mean, unless it absorbs power form that specific location or move, nothing about that method of evolving makes any sense.

Well, for Crabrawler I more so think it makes sense that it's the adaption to cold temperatures.

Levels are only a vague estimate in an RP setting anyway - where these are living creatures, not video game constructs. As for locational evos...

These seem to be based on drawing ambient elemental energy from certain places of power where it collects - Mount Lanakila appears to be Alola's Big Damn Ice Energy Reservoir and it's where Eevee evolves into Glaceon as well.

So I dunno about location-haxing that particular evolution, but what you CAN do is have the Giant Enemy Crab in question have improved battle focus the more time it spends in battle with your trainer and the more in sync they are with each other.

S sort of 'proto' battle bond, if you will, without the Big Damn Transformation - until evolution occurs, where it turns out to have been a prelude to a full on battle bond all along.
