A lot of people feel like they have special privileges and they deserve second chances, despite not showing the actually deserve one. People end up with a very limited view that only involves them, and they live in a mental state where they get whatever they want.

Yes, but asking about a position whose entire purpose is eliminating rule-breakers, when you've broken so many rules yourself that you got yourself banned before?

And here I thought there's a limit to how dumb and oblivious people can get. Einstein was right, evidently. XD

I actually had this exact same thing happen awhile back when I moderated a Pokemon subbreddit. Some guy posted something completely inappropriate so i removed the post and scolded him, so he went off on a rant that got him banned for 3 weeks.

A few days later he messaged us back apologizing for the incident, which we accepted. He then finished up with "Now that I know the rules, can i be a mod?"

... Good grief, humanity. XD
