Welcome back to Pokécharms! We've recently launched a new site and upgraded forums, so there may be a few teething issues as everything settles in. Please see our Relaunch FAQs for more information.
You were initially banned due to your continuous tendency to lapse back into chatspeak and certain other recurring annoyances. It was initially meant to be a one-day ban to serve as a warning of sorts...
And then you ban-evaded, using a different hostmask to circumvent the ban. This ban-evasion has upgraded your ban into a permanent status.
So that's what that (+b) was I was wondering if the chat broke right after I got kicked and when I was back and asked if it worked you suddenly said permanent ban while I was thinking ban? I just got kicked out right?
well there is nothing I can do about it anymore thanks for the fun hours in the chat as I enjoyed it very much and I am very sorry as I was a fool and it was my fault not to understand that I was banned instead of kicked
Nope. Chat didn't break. You were simply banned. That is what (+b) means. It means your name or hostmask (in that particular case, hostmask) is banned from entering chat. /just/ being kicked without being banned means you can come back. Being kicked AND banned means you're not allowed to come back.
The chat server DID break today, however, which is how your ban was lost. Now that the server is back up, the ban has been reinstated and will remain in place for the foreseeable future.
wait a second? Kick means not coming back? I was kicked a few times and I could join immediately after that I remember that somebody mentioned that somebody was a football an kicked for fun?
ah Ok I see I was really happy that the chat worked again and when I read that people where also having trouble I was thinking to myself ok so they have the same trouble as me
That is the case for kicks that are not accompanied by bans. So long as a user isn't banned, they can rejoin after being kicked. Being banned, normally, prevents them from rejoining after being kicked.
I'd argue that IRC is not exactly rocket science and should not be so hard to understand, but eh. Far be it from me to underestimate how capable people are of not understanding things.
Also, note that while you have been banned from chat, you have not been banned from the site as a whole - and provided you continue following the rules of the forums, you are welcome to continue being active on those. ^^
