Lol, you’ll get it no time. A friend of mine taught himself the language at 14 the hard way and watches Japanese news in his free time. Now he’s studied abroad, speaks without an accent, and has plans to live there.

I used to learn by cross-referencing song lyrics, spell card names (Touhou) and character name nuances before I found this learn resource. But of course, no grammar.
All I understand for long sentences is that が (ga) or は (wa) indicates who/what the sentence is about and the verb is always at the end. Nothing else.
