True, sometimes I don't finish my homework though... Which is on me... But my third-period teacher (Who is basically the person suggesting for us to pick classes that we need if our grades are low) supports me choosing a writing class for third. BTW third is a 2-week elective class for some reason...

Well do what you like and what you have to, it's the perfect balance.

Question for the two of you: Do you think it would be worth it for me to try public school next year?
ThePlayfulFox
ThePlayfulFox
Depends... I mean, public is ok, but I still like homeschool. My main problem is that no one is serious. I have no real competition, meaning my incentives are lower. Now it also depends on what you want to be. And the average grade for the school.

Depends on the kind of person you are. Public schools prepare you for real life because of all the competition around you and you get to see how people really are. If you succeed coming from a public school, that's a real story right there. While private schools just keep you in a protective bubble and when you leave it, you're gonna suffer.

Renz is homeschooled...
RenzFlintrock
RenzFlintrock
That is correct. And that’s the thing, I’m wondering if I should pop the bubble sooner so I have more time to adjust before college... and of course, I’m not sure if it matters because I have no plan in life. That’s kinda been worrying me lately... the best I’ve come up with is graphic design, and that’s still not great...

Have you tried talking to your parents about some suggestions? I mean, one of the biggest reasons why I even said that I want to be a lawyer is because my parents suggested it to me, also I like rules... (And that's why I'm Lawful Good)
RenzFlintrock

I mean, I have in the past, but it’s been pretty inconclusive. I wanted to do something with animals for a long time, but nothing in the way of animal doctor. I considered doing an internship at the local Zoo, but they charge you a ton of money to have to go work all summer in the blazing heat of Florida, so...

Maybe help out at an animal shelter?
RenzFlintrock
RenzFlintrock
Maybe... I could at least get some volunteer hours that way, I think. But I can’t really think of any long-term career yet. I have a feeling I’ll be working at a restaurant or a store for a while. Walmart was my original assumption, but I think they’re replacing checkout stations with self-checkouts. What is life...

Soon, robots will take over the world...

Or at least leave thousands unemployed.

Take your time, there's no rush. I dropped out of two careers before I found teaching.
RenzFlintrock
RenzFlintrock
Well, they say ‘Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life’ so I’m anxious to find a job I’ll enjoy and also won’t leave me to starve. XD

One really cool thing, at least I think, would be a job with Pokémon. Like designing the cards, or making the anime, or maybe even designing a Pokémon...
Hecotoro
Hecotoro
That is a dream job, I made it my hobby. (Secretly working on a manga) but you could become a Pokemon professor in your area. Pokemon Company does that
RenzFlintrock
RenzFlintrock
Oh... well, I’m going to look into that, then, if it comes to knowledge of Pokémon I’m pretty good if I do say so myself. Sure, there’s tons I don’t know, but I know a lot. Although I hate that ground doesn’t resist fire... it will be my downfall, I assure you.

Just a heads up, you have to organize tournaments for both VGC and TCG, so you have to know the rules. You will recieve merchandise which you give as prizes and some personalized things for you. It is a lot of work, but it's really worth it. You interact with so many people that like Pokemon, so it feels at home.
RenzFlintrock
RenzFlintrock
Yep, sounds like something I definitely need to look into... I would need to brush up on TCG, and learn VCG rules, but... that shouldn’t be too bad, am I right? It would probably help if I could actually play the core games... ugh...
