How do you get a character slot without actually buying a character slot?

Make a new Gmail and add it to your device, then go to the app and clear data.
Close the app and reopen it. It should ask you to select an email. Select the new email and make your char.
Your char will be saved to your mail so just clear data whenever you wanna switch chars

If you have a computer, you can get an android emulator like BlueStacks or Nox and you can play Iruna on that.
