RenzFlintrock "That's not a happy story."

"Well I don't live a happy life."
The next morning, Benji sat in the common room talking to an elderly man. The grey bearded man was recounting tales from his youth, and the younger man listened attentively. When the old man had come to a halt, Benji spoke up.

"That's not a happy story."

"Well I don't live a happy life, young man. Life's tough in this town."

"How's that? I heard trade was good and that there's plenty of ways to make money here."

"The thieves, boy. Why, I was robbed just a couple of weeks ago. Nothing much taken, but things were still gone. There's a robbery at least once a week, or so they say. The city guard is good, but they can't be everywhere."

"I see..."

It was then that Abbi came down the stairs. Her hair was a bit of a mess, and Benji couldn't help but chuckle. She clearly didn't know anything was wrong with her appearance. He waved to her, and she joined the two at the table.

"Hey, sleepy. I was waiting for you before seeing about breakfast."

The old man chuckled. He had come for a drink and to swap some tales, and he didn't care to watch the young people eat. He got up and hobbled off, leaving them to start their day.
