Raven sat in silence over a wide pool of water, which rippled her reflection. She sighed and turned away, somewhat surprised the water hadn't froze yet. It was in the middle of leaf-bare, and cold, thich blankets of snow covered everything, while ice formed on every bit of exposed water. She thought she wouldn't see the sun for years.
She trudged through the cold snow, her fur bristling to keep her warm. Suddenly, she caught the promise of another downpour of snow that would come soon. She growled in annoyance and rushed away, paws sinking in the snow, until it grew so thick she had to leap through it.
She slid into a den that she created, and marked it freshly with her scent. She set the large clumps of stinging nettles and brambles around the den again.
"Why, of all times, does it have to snow now?" She grumbled, turning her back on the entrance to the den. She organized the herbs she'd collected as she stayed just beyond ThunderClan territory. She'd stolen herbs in their territory, and they wonder how it went missing.
Yeah, I wonder, She thought, clearly annoyed. Today just wasn't her day. Snow struck the inside of her den as there were gaps within the clumps. She hissed as she'd just cleared the snow out and soon patched the holes with left-over moss. She curled up in her nest, a slight dip in the ground lined neatly with feathers and moss, and drifted off into sleep.
She found herself in the open moor, before glancing over her shoulder to see something watching her from the woods beyond. It's eyes, colored red, were bright, until the creature crawled out of the forest, towering over Raven with massive claws.
Cats had gathered below it, hissing. She noticed they had heart-like markings on their chests, but were black, others slowly turning from red to black. The creature charged at her and sunk it's claws into her chest, causing Raven to screech. Beware the claws od darkness that have gripped the hearts of others...
Raven jolted awake, pushed open the barriers and left the den. She noticed that it was still in the middle of the night. She decided to hunt what she could, and only returned with two mice and a squirrel. She tossed the prey into a prey-hole she dug, which was rather deep and not even half-full.
She covered the hole again, closed the barrier, and fell asleep again.
Raven woke up to day-light filtering into the den. she slid out and scented the air. Mallow! She caught the scent of mallow and began to search for it. She returned to her den later with some fresh mallow.
She wa surprised any of it was growing around this time...
