Top5 Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Characters

DopeLeafeon470
Let's talk about Fawful's Minion.
A YouTuber who many, including myself, look up to.
But one of the many traditions he has on his channel is Mario RPG month.
Started with Mario & Luigi month, ended with Paper Mario month.
And some can say Game Freak's attempts at a Pokemon RPG without the main concept was kinda hard for them.
Until the first Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game came out.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team.
Players loved the experience it brought to us.
Mostly the moments.
But that's for another time.
Anyway, I'm officially calling November as Pokemon Mystery Dungeon.
Peanut Butter Gamer did it.
Fawful's Minion did it.
Now it's my turn.
But before we do...a quick disclaimer.
This is my opinion.
Without further ado, let's slide into Number Five.

Every anime needs a nerd.
Heck, you ARE one just looking at this.
No offense, of course.
Now scroll up from the comment section please.
Up here.
Thank you.
Anyway, there has to be a certain characteristic they have to have in order to be a nerd.
The examples include glasses, braces, or asthma.
With Pokemon, it doesn't get any harder.
But let's be honest, after seeing this guy in Diamond and Pearl...
we all saw it coming.
#5: Bidoof, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky
We all know Bidoof is arguably one of the most minor Pokemon memes there ever was.
Lookin' at you, "Get in the bag, Nebby!".
But putting him in a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game with the nerdy attitude is just...perfect.
It fits so well with Bidoof's character in general.
Goofy, funny, and just an overall comic relief in a game about the god of time being manipulated by an evil force.
He even has his own side quest at the near beginning of the game.
Bidoof was a fun guy to be around, nerd or not.

I had to put a final boss on here.
The series started simple, with Rayquaza as the main target.
But he's just a god who thought you and your partner was disturbing the world.
And technically same goes for Primal Dialga.
And to be blunt, the Bittercold didn't have much to like about it either.
So that leaves us with Dark Matter.
I give the fight 0/10.
Mostly because it wasn't a cyclops and it floated around.
#4: Dark Matter, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon
We were led to believe that this force known as Dark Matter was worse than any other villain we've faced.
But really...he's misunderstood.
He was born of hatred. He couldn't have known any other feelings than what he was born with.
What if Dark Matter is just the lost soul of a Pokemon, trapped what his destiny was?
We learn by the end of the fight that your partner forgives Dark Matter for all the damage he's done.
Which is REALLY odd, considering he LITERALLY KILLED THE GOD OF HATRED.
Which was Yveltal.
Was.
And he did it in one hit.
Even when you're born of hatred, every villain has a reason.
Unless you're the Bittercold.
Okay I'll stop.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time. Or Darkness. Or Sky.
Because that makes sense.
Every RPG team needs an RPG team.
Let's recite all of them.
Gates to Infinity!
Pikachu, Oshawott, Virizion, Umbreon, Espeon...there was one more.
Super!
Player, Partner, Ampharos, Jirachi...forget it.
Let's just cut to the point.
Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky had some of the best characters the series has ever had.
You as the main character, your partner as their trusty sidekick, and Shiny Celebi to backbone the crew.
But every RPG team needs a mischievous thief.
#3: Grovyle, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky
I'm sorry, I'm sorry...I'll make up for it later.
Treecko's too young, Sceptile's too old, so ya gotta find that perfect compromise.
And they pulled it off well.
Grovyle's agile and strong, and smug.
Since Bidoof can't join you in your quest to save the world...
you have to find a replacement comic relief.
You dun thought you were done for then!
Then Grovyle slashed into battle.
He seems to know a lot about the situation.
Not to mention him willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good.
Not only that, but he has a backstory with almost every necessary character in the game.
Screw Snivy.
THIS is the TRUE Smugleaf.

There's a beginning to every Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game.
And it starts out as you, the human, going through the stage of becoming a Pokemon.
But the important thing to remember is, the one who takes you in to their village.
The one who accepted you.
But who knows?
This may have not been the one who took you in.
But he sure seems like the kind of guy that would.
#2: Herdier, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity
There are few grandpas in Pokemon.
And then Gen 5 came.
And people found that the Lillipup line had a growing mustache.
Kinda funny.
Just like every other townsperson, he's always there when you need help.
But what sets him apart from the rest is that he actually has a legit biological son.
Which is rare in the Pokemon universe.
And a first in the Mystery Dungeon games.
But he truly cares about his son.
and his son cares for him.
They always make sure to check with each other before they do anything dangerous.
Which, they never did.
Because they're STUPID RPG townspeople...
But who can blame them?
They're just doing their thing.
As RPG townspeople.
I love tales of family.
And they nailed it with this.
Ya did gud Game Freak.

Today's Robbie Rotten is someone who you were right next to the whole journey.
Since Red Rescue Team.
Since Explorers.
Since Gates to Infinity.
Since Super.
It's not you.
It's not Kecleon.
Kecleon: ;-;
It's the one that CAN'T KEEP HIS GODDAMN MOUTH SHUT!
#1: The Partner, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (Series)
There's always that one guy in a video game that makes you go "WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOU?!"
There's the G-Man.
There's Fawful.
There's the Lumiose Ghost Girl.
And then there's the Partner.
Most likely a Pikachu. Or a Riolu.
Whether he be annoying or a fun guy to be around...
the Partner has been through thick and thin with you.
And stayed.
You can create a rescue squad with it.
Create a town with it.
And most importantly...
question its origin.
In Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, your Partner is...well...Mew.
THE Mew.
And he accepts Dark Matter for who he is.
And in Gates to Infinity, he stuck by your side, even if he just couldn't.
They're willing to break the rules of life itself just to stay by your side.
And THAT's why they take the Number One spot.
This is being the Dopest of Leafeon!
And I hope you all have a fabulous day!

(Paper Toad peeks out of tiny hole in the wall)
Hey. You. Yeah, you.
You wanna see the secret Number 6?
Here you go then.

#6
He was there since the beginning.
#6: Kecleon, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (Series)
Don't try to steal from him.
His stats are GOD like if you do.
Okay, see ya.
Midnight Heart likes this.
