This TF2 Story I Found...

by Merciless Medic

Merciless Medic I found this story I made on my iPod while I was bored during class.... It's slightly cringe-worthy, since it's a year old and I had hopes and dreams poured into this story.
Mara was walking around the forest until she heard the sounds of bullets and rockets firing, which reverberated into an echo form all the trees surrounding her. With her twin samurai swords, her ninja stars, and her bo-staff held tightly by the harness she wears, she climbed a nearby tree and hopped from branch to branch to find the source of the sounds.

She finally made it to a clearing in the forest and finds nine people and an equal amount of robots fighting each other. It looked like it’s to the death, so she hung back until she found an opening amidst all the chaos to jump in.

The humans and machines stopped for a second to survey the area and their comrades. The humans looked badly beaten, while the robots’ shells were tearing and breaking away. The surrounding area was covered in empty ammunition shells and bits of metal, the trees and ground blackened by the explosions, with some people in flames. Their comrades put them out speedily before joining the tense staring contest shared between the robots and band of men. The warring parties looked at the other once more before their curious and tired expression were replaced with a seething hatred.

Mara saw that this was a good chance to drop in on an unsuspecting robot. She had seen what those monstrosities could do and wasn’t too keen on having them around any longer than what’s necessary. She leapt from her perch and landed right on top of a particularly large robot, unsheathing her swords and stabbing them into the head of the automaton. The sparks from the sound of the creature flash upwards and shower her swords, arms, and face with bright, searing light before falling lightly on the robot. The robot flailed its arms upward, trying to grab a hold of its assailant, but she jumped off of it before it could reach er. She crouched down and, in a blink of an eye, appeared on the other side of her enemy, her swords splayed out like wings. It took a moment for the robot to realize it couldn’t move its legs, and the beast falls over, severed from the rest of the body.

The humans looked on and smiled at each other, realizing that they had unsuspected help at their disposal. Their helper looked over at them and smiled a kind smile, before turning to the robots with a sneer and cutting another shorter one in half. The helper had cut through her enemy’s ranks before retreating behind the others, only giving some support by throwing her hidden shurikens from her sides, targeting the kinsk in the armor.

After the robots were dismantled, the humans looked at each other and took assessment over their wounds. The German-looking doctor starts to emit a strange reddish-orange stream from his device and began to heal everyone who were in his team. When he was finished and all of their wounds closed, he looked at Mara inquiringly, wondering if she would be alright with being healed by a strange beam she hadn’t seen before.

Mara saw this and quickly, but politely, denied, saying: “Thank you, but no thank you. I have no idea what it could do to me, since my body composition is different from a regular human’s. I’m just glad that I could help in your time of need.”

The medic smiled and responded with a little nod and smirk. A man, taller than Mara, about as skinny, but shorter than the medic, goes over to her with an impressed look on his face and he asks: “What’s your name, pretty lady?” Mara snorted when he called her lady.

“My name is Mara. I’m just glad that I could help is all. And what do you mean when you said lady? I’m anything but,” with that she giggled a little, since she hadn’t been called that in a long time.

“Like what?” the man, who she identified as having a Bostonian accent, asked.

“An assassin, torturer, among other things,” she bluntly said. Obviously those ideas didn’t bother her in the slightest.

The man looked taken aback by the answer, but quickly recovered while the entire team looked at this little woman. She’s only five feet and four inches tall, smaller than all the nine members of the team, and yet she was so good that she helped in changing the tide of battle. They looked at each other and they all shared a very small smile.

A man, with a yellow hard hat and glove on his right hand and a Texan accent, asked: “Would you mind if we had you on as a part of the team?”

With this sudden recruiting moment, Mara looked on in disbelief. She had never had a team, let alone one person, agree on having her in a team before, or even ask for her to join. She just joined with the most competent looking team. She smiled widely and quickly exclaimed: “YES!”

She then paused and asked: “Don’t I need to be verified first?”

A man in a balaclava, who had a French accent, said: “That isn’t really important when the team is hardly official.”
