The Story of the Elekid

by Ry_Burst

Ry_Burst This is a short little story I wrote involving friendship. It is a bit sad, so beware.
“Elekid, I’m your trainer, John. Nice to meet you.” A black haired boy said squatting down to get eye level with the Elekid. Elekid suck his toungue out and blew a rhasberry. He wasn’t buying John’s claim. “C’mon. Smile. Just a little one.”” John pleaded. Instead, Elekid gave him a slight shock with a Thundershock attack, and began to chuckle.

“Ow,” John muttered recovering from the shock. He rose and placed his hands on Elekid’s shoulders. “C’mon little guy. Don’t be so mean.” John gave a slight chuckle, showing he was just teasing. “Let’s go.” John grabbed onto Elekid’s arm, and tried to pull the electric type along. However, much to John’s dismay, Elekid’s feet stood planted.

John immediately understood. This was where Eleid and John’s little brother had played after school. They would meet in the woods at this very spot, and walk home together after playing. John glanced at his watch. Under most circumstances, his brother would have been here now. But John knew better. Five days ago, his little brother had been hit by a car and killed. John, being the eldest of his parents sons kept his calm, and was the rock for his family to lean on. But Elekid seemed to have taken it way worse than anyone. He’s been a shell, and when John had decided to adopt the baby Pokemon, he had ran out here.

“He’s dead.” John said suddenly. “And he’s not coming back. Just accept that fact and move on like the rest of us!” He shouted his voice full of anger. Elekid glared at John angrily. He didn’t agree with John’s claim.

“Ele-KID!” The baby electric type Pokemon shouted charging his fist with electricity. Then he delivered a devastating Thunderpunch that crashed into John’s stomach. The boy flew back, and slammed against a tree, getting the breath knocked out of him.

“Elekid, I’m your trainer now. Please accept that. My brother is dead!” John shouted rising back up. Elekid charged up his fist once more and swung again. John jumped out of the way this time, allowing the attack to crash into the tree.

“El, el, el!” Elekid shouted, shaking his head furiously. To John, it seemed that Elekid was refusing to accept the loss of his trainer. Then, with tears in his eyes, Elekid charged again, but without using his Thunderpunch attack. John caught the punch, and whirled his arms around Elekid, giving the little electric type a hug.

“You can cry. It’s okay. I miss my little brother too,” John said weakly, as tears began to roll down his cheeks.

“El, el, el.” The little electric type said, beginning to cry along with John. Both creatures were crying together, while clutching each other. Letting all of their emotions out. Beside the two was the tree that they had hit. It had an indent of a person, with a scorch mark, near the heart of the outline.
